| | |  Gobstones Match: Hufflepuff vs. Gryffindor
The building used for the Gobstones matches had had it's doors opened to the brisk, early autumn air and it's surfaces magically dusted by Professor Romanos and Mr. Kitridge, the school's Gobstones sponsors and made ready for the term's first match.
The red and gold marbles were set out and the playing 'field' had been marked. Chairs were set out on each side of the arena creating a Viewing Area for those not playing to watch. OOC: Remember only members sorted into Gryffindor and Hufflepuff Houses can post in this thread, it is not a chat thread and there is no rping. Read the Gobstones Rule book before playing and if you did last term, please check again because it's been updated. The thread is moderated so your answer won't show up until the sponsors allow it. After a quick sit down, Alexa Cambridge was ready to try once again. Hufflepuffs changed up their players, at least to allow everyone their chance, and Jory Stonewall took his place with his yellow stone in hand. The Gryffindor team quietly tried to help their player with strategy and motivational talk while the Hufflepuff team sat on the edge of their seats, silently willing the yellow stone to hit the Jack stone first. As the stones rolled into play, the yellow stone rolled right passed the Jack stone and out of play while the red shooter had a slight angle to it, causing it to roll right off the 'field'. [Correct Answer: Scarab Beetles]

Setting themselves up, third year Alexa Crambridge and seventh year Jory Stonewall kept their positions, taking up their respective stones. It'd gone eerily silent for a moment as everyone waited for the players to take their aim. Both stones rolled simaltaneously onto the playing 'field' and it looked for a moment as if the yellow shooter was going to hit the Jack stone first. Yet, at the last second, the red stone pulled ahead, hitting the Jack stone with a satisfying 'clink'.
Medea finally let out the breath she was holding. "Points to Gryffindor!" she announced as another wave of goo was sent to the Hufflepuff player.

After a good break, Ella Bishop took her position with her yellow stone in hand, as Alexa Cambridge decided to try her luck once again, though the wary look on her face was not missed. Were there going to be any surprise sneezes this time? Aiming their stones, the two players flicked them into play. The red shooter stopped just inches from the Jack stone, however, the yellow shooter was declared the winner just centimeters away.
Oh well done! "Three points to Hufflepuff!" Medea tapped the score board with her wand.

Without switching teammates, Alexa Cambridge and Ella Bishop took up their respective stones, taking their time in aiming them carefully. The adrenaline during the beginning of the game was startling to settle, and the looks of determination of their faces were as clear as day and hard as stone. As the stones rolled onto the playing 'field', their lack of power may have been an actual strategy more than a mistake. The red and yellow shooters creeped up to the Jack stone, however, the red shooter was the closest and deamed the winner.
"One point to the Gryffindors!" Medea announced, quite happy about the lack of putrid goo during the round.

The way this game was going, Medea couldn't tell which way it was heading. Both teams had their ups and downs. Ella Bishop decided that her accurate rolls lately could win her this next round. Penelope Greenwell of Gryffindor stood up for a chance at a turn, red stone gripped in her hand. With the motivation of their teammates behind them, the two players rolled their stones. However, Ella Bishop's accuracy and speed had her yellow shooter hitting the Jack stone first, causing the gobstones goo to fly right towards Penelope and her fellow teammates.
Medea flailed and took a step back, not wanting to get in the way. "...Three points to Hufflepuff!"

As the players took their aim, Ella launched her yellow stone first. Alice flicked her red stone a second later, however, it's bounces caused it to slow down halfway down the playing 'field' while the yellow shooter stopped just mere centimeters away from the Jack stone.
"Points go to Hufflepuff!" Medea tapped the score board with her wand, adding the points to the Hufflepuffs score.
