Isobel laughed, wouldn't anyone hate it? and let Nudge out. The Siamese cat bolted out as quickly as she could, and then sat down between the two girls and began licking one of her black paws, pretending she didn't care, and was completely dignified in her exiting the cage. "Oh, go right ahead! Unless you're allergic or anything, of course." Tora probably would have mentioned if she was allergic. It seemed Isobel had suddenly developed a habit of pointing out the obvious.

"Oh, yeah." In her experience, Hufflepuffs were generally very down-to-earth, and Tora didn't really look the type. Still, apparently the Sorting can bring out unexpected qualities in people! "So..." Isobel said, casting around for something to talk about. "Your grandmother's American, huh?" She'd heard her back on the platform, and wondered why Tora didn't have an accent as well.

Tora was delighted! She immediately started stroking Nudge.
[b]"Oh, well no. Not technically. She is actually British but works for the Ministry in the U.S. She normally talks with a British accent among Wizards though and only speaks American around Muggles. I guess she didn't bother to switch out." She said smiling. Ahhh Gram. Who else would constantly switch out her accents depending on who she was talking to for fun? Okay, now it was Tora's turn for a question. "Where do you live?" she asked.That question prompted more to come bubbling up in Tora's mind... But they could wait!

Making her way down the corridor of the train, Zoe hadn't found a spot to sit yet and had just been wandering hoping to see someone she knew. James and Lucas had both disappeared so she didn't know where they'd gone to, and so had Isabella. So she was off on her own once again. Thank merlin auntie wasn't on the train this time! or so she hoped. Humming as she walked along peering into compartments she kept looking for an open one.

As Kace was walking down the front car, he bumped into someone. "Ooof.." and when he turned around, he noticed a girl. She had blonde hair and he recognized her from Belle's pictures she had of her school friends. Kace was starring at her and noticed she was talking to her.

"Oh umm...hi! Umm...i kind of know you...well my sister..she had pictures of you in her room." Kace thought it sounded weird but he did kind of know her. "I am Kace by the way." he smiled to her friendly.

Wade however did not take it the wrong way. Nope, in fact he began to laugh a little. "Yeah, it does sound a little odd." Shrugging, "My dad worked and later ran a Shop that sold broomsticks for wizards and other stuff for muggles," Since they were common together. "like beach wear and surfboards while I was growing up.. So, my dad and some of his friends taught me and later my cousin." But did he grow up with a non-magic family? "Nah, all wizards and witches in my family.. but, seeing the stuff muggles did around the beach really got me into it." Yep, no regrets here. Hopefully, she didn't feel bad about what she said. It was kind of funny to Wade, heh. "It's cool, though.. you ever surfed before?"

Hm? The U.S. "Hmm.. I haven't actually, it's such a huge country I wouldn't know where to start." Well, Wade only knew of some locations there, like their Disney World and Land. "Though, it would be nice to see Disney there.." Almost in an afterthought he mentioned. So, she was thinking of Healing. "That's cool, though. We always need Healers.. would you want to work in a muggle hospital or like St. Mungos?" Though, he was sure S. Mungos occasionally held muggles and Squibs there.

Hmm.. his career choice. "Well.. I do like animals. I was thinking something in magiczoology." He could feel his face warm at the next thing he said, "I.. got into it from my grandmother and mum." So, it kind of was and wasn't a family thing. "Though, they were more into finding creatures, I like caring for them." Yeah, he sort of spelt out his favorite subject, the one that he had least concern for NEWTs. "Deal" Wade chuckled, since he was not going to deal with them right now for as long as he could.

Aw, she blushed, that was pretty cute. Least he wasn't the only one that reacted like that with compliments. "I hear you, it's such a thrill." Since, just sitting and watching a game of Quidditch gave him a temptation to play it right away. Minnie was cool, she was caring enough to help him out even though right now they were competing until tryouts ended. "Alright, you're on." Yeah, he was game. It was going to be fun.

Sylvester almost let out a laugh as he watched her drop down onto the bench, managing to almost contain it minus the slight snicker that just had to be let out. This girl was definitely quite amusing, however the cat on her stomach also caught his attention for a moment before he shook his head at her in amusement.

"So what's the cats name?" he asked the girl, cocking his head to the side as he pointed at the cute little kitten. Though he wouldn't ever refer to it like that aloud... "Yeah it's kind of weird to think about it that way isn't it? I'm actually hoping we'll get into the same house, it'd be kinda cool to just hang out in a common room for a lazy day or something" he thought aloud, shrugging at the end because he definitely didn't already think of her as a close friend that he cared about yet.

A small smirk grew on his face as he shrugged again. "Why don't you guess piano girl?"

Caught up in the conversation with Kahlan he hadn't even noticed the older guy who he couldn't even recognize, flinching when he seemed to loom nearby, though he didn't particularly like the way the guy just clicked his tongue at him, still he figured he should probably go along with it, quickly handing over the ticket.

"Here?"

Putting a bit of effort in, Kahlan forced herself into a sit up like thing as she raised her head to smile at the kitten on her stomach again before letting herself fall back, just turning her head to look at Sylvester.

"Her name's Chachi, my brother got her for me yesterday as a going away gift I guess, probably because I didn't get myself a pet while I was at Diagon Alley... I didn't really see a point but Chachi is definitely changing that outlook..." she rambled, turning to smile at the cat again quickly before she turned her attention back to the boy opposite her.

"Yeah, that'd be really cool... especially in winter because I hate the cold... although I do like the occasional snow ball fight. And then it would also be cool because if we tried for the Quidditch team we could be on the same team... or for anything else that's house related" Kahlan expanded, a large grin on her face as she thought of it, just trying to remind herself to not hope too much in case they weren't. Even if they weren't it didn't mean that they couldn't be friends though thankfully, especially as Sylvester was one of her first friends that wasn't influenced by her family.

"Because I already told you that I play piano!" the blonde whined, pouting at the boy opposite. "It's only fair you tell me whether or not you play an instrument or like music considering I told you with the books..."

Walking...walking...following.

Once they reached the compartment of the girl....which was a few steps away from his own, he quickly went inside. Why? Because Gwen was waiting for him at his compartment and it would be a bad situation if she sees him ditching her or something. After all, what he told her was that he'd just get some food at the trolley, but that'll have to wait for later.

Anyway this was a girl. She'd know what to do. She could help him. Hopefully. He took a seat and began, "So yeah, about that story..." he looked at the bird inside. So she owned a pet. Now it made Zeke wonder if he ever owned a pet before. Hm, guess not? Who knew, he can't even remember a thing. "You willing to help?"

Sarah had a secret thought that Alexa was the way she was - self centred, spoiled and all- due to her upbringing, therefore Sarah never really judged Alexa, rather she pitied her. It was not Alexa's fault that she was brought up that way. "It makes you more responsible, you know that if your mother made a set amount of food for supper enough for everyone to take two portions, then by you having a fourth you will be depriving one of your siblings. Also it makes you more independent. It also teaches you that there are other people in the world and therefore make you automatically likeable among others. It also makes you more mature, the healthy mature not ht e 3 going on 21 mature yet mature and wise for your age" Sarah could go on and on, yet she knew that frankly Alexa could have selective hearing at times and therefore trying to prove her point on that case was useless.

"I don;t think Sharing a room would bother me, I am a very deep sleeper and all. Also it means someone to clean up your mess when they get fustrated at it" Sarah smirked. She was not at all bothered by her clutter, yet others like her father was, so Sarah told him that he was the only one that cared if her room was a mess, so if it really matters so much to him he could clean it up himself. That kept him off her back for a while.

There was another very different way in the way the two were raised. "My parents give us everyhing we need - love, food, attention,education, shelter and all, yet a kid wants a lot of things. Sometimes it changes daily, one day a new broom, the next day a chocolate frog etc, and by nature kids are never going to be satisfied with their wants, always wanting more and worse yet, not appreciating what they already have. So by teaching them the difference between wants and needs is very fair to the kids, in fact kids that don;t know the difference are missing out. Also, kids are like an investment for the future. When I see my nephew I know that through him and the future kids in my family, the chain that my parents continued from my ansecters will continue. Money is temporary, yet children are forever, they carry on into the future."

"Why?" repeated the incredublous Sarah. "Because it means I can give ant nurture. Children make me happy, and I love it when kids hold out their arms to me. It will mean that I mean something to someone..." Sarah had been told that she was very deep before. She could not help it though. "as I said before, it means that I will leave my imprint in legacy."

Minerva tilted her head curiously at the boy. His sister had pictures of her. Who had a brother coming to Hogwarts that would have pictures of her in their room. This was interesting, strange maybe, since she couldn't.. oh wait she thought. A smile growing over her face, "Your Belle's little brother" Happy times that she remembered that, how did she forget it, Belle and her just talked about this at the water park this summer.

"Well Kace I'm Minerva and yes your sister is one of my close friends." She was excited to meet this little one, she wondered when she would bump into him. In the back of her mind she was already thinking about how she could introduce him to Bay, then Bay could know another first year. "So are you enjoying the trip so far? Excited to be sorted?"



Min thought that was so interesting. It was nice to know that more wizards liked muggle things, unlike her cousins. Shaking her head she smiled, "No, I've never surfed before. I've watched it, but have been to afraid to try. I'm not a huge ocean person. I love the beach, I love putting my feet in and will go up to my waist, but I'm terrified of sharks." That thought alone kept her from going out any further then she could touch. She was naive enough to think the sharks would stay away from her if she stayed in the areas she could touch the bottom. "I stick to the land things, four wheeling and hockey are two of my favorites. Oh and American Football." couldn't forget that even if her team always stunk.

She gave a small smile, of course Disney who didn't want to go there, "Yeah I went there when I was younger, it's a lot of fun. If you ever want to visit, I can tell you the best places to stop. My family traveled a lot, because my dad was in the army." So she was pretty good at knowing some of the better areas so be a tourist and stuff. Hmmm she had to think about his question, it was a question that was on her mind all the time. That which world would I go to, well again best of both is where she was trying to be so she just shrugged, "Honestly I don't think it would matter. I love both the muggle world and the wizard, so as long as I'm helping people I don't see a difference, but I guess it all depends where I end up after Hogwarts." She really wasn't sure of any of that part yet, heck she just decided on the Healer stuff over the summer and who knows if that would stick by the end of seventh year.

Oh magiczoology, Min wondered if he talked to Ella at all about that. It seemed like something right up her alley. "Like being a zoo keeper for the animals?" That would be really cool, Min loved animals and she did have an interest in them. "What's your favorite animal you would like to take care of?" What was the blush for she wondered, but then smiled, that was sweet actually. "Well it's good to have family ties in things I think. I love to cook because when I was younger my mom use to be in the kitchen all the time. So I get that.." She couldn't be happier when he said deal about the no NEWT talk. "So I take it your favorite class is Care of Magical Creatures? I have fun in that one."

Smiling big and even clapping her hands in excitement she was happy he wanted to practice a little bit. She could careless they were competing for the same spot, if it came down to he was better then so be it, she just wanted to have some fun and try to get better. "Great once we get settled into the class routine and things like that, lets set up some time to see if Professor J will let us borrow a bludger and then we could set up a couple times to go practice."

"Don't look so worried, it's nothing that requires brain surgery in order to be answered." Because she noticed the look on his face and could tell that he, himself, wasn't so sure whether or not he wanted her asking. Not that it mattered, she would have asked anyway but see, he was a firstie and she needed those so she had to give that whole 'being polite' thing a chance. Bleeeh.

Lex was set to ask too but then she remembered Lottie and well...she kinda pulled her into the train because they were meant to sit together and so far she was standing her and Lottie was somewhere else. That didn't quite work for her.

"On second thought, just remember that I have a question to ask if I run into you at the feast, because I have to run, mmkay?? Oh and while we're on this subject. Before I run, I want you to think about armies, with Generals and ranks and the like. You could be great kid. Think about it." She gave him a wink before turning to Sarah and letting her know that she had to go as well.

He was good people. She needed to run into him again.




She didn't mean to be quite so indifferent about it but Sarah's analogy didn't make things any better for her in the way of understanding. She didn't see why she couldn't have everything she wanted just because someone else needed to have some too. When her father made dinner she had as much as she wanted and in fact if they had to limit stuff she wouldn't care whether Jessa ate or not. It wasn't her problem and she wouldn't pretend it was. To that she simply shrugged from lack of knowing what else to say. Her thoughts were safe in her mind. Out loud they probably made her sound selfish--which she knew she was. Did she care? Nooooope. She came first. Everyone else was second. Well...her friends could be first with her and she could switch between priorities but with the wider population, she didn't give rat's hat.

She tilted her head and gave her a curious look. "Why do you need someone cleaning your mess? It's yours, you either keep it or clean it up. It shouldn't be anyone else's concern." Her room wasn't usually clean but she didn't need anyone cleaning it for her either.

And now she was being told about wants and needs. They were pretty much the same for her. If she saw something that she wanted then she automatically needed it. Duh. She laughed though, because Sarah was being funny. The brand of humour this girl had entertained Lex so she wasn't about to get upset at anything she said. Sarah meant well--she always did. GRIN. "That's...er...a rather interesting way of looking at it, I'll admit. I didn't think of it that way before." Their minds were so different. That amused her too.

OH BUT LOOK AT THAT!!!

She was meant to find somewhere to sit with Lottie!! Eeep!! "Good running into you Sarah! We have to finish catching up at the feast, we share a table and a Common Room afterall." BEAM. Then she hurried down the corridor. No need to keep Lottie waiting.

"Two years,'' Jory said. "I'll miss the little guy. And you too, of course.'' Along with everyone else. "But we can find someway to meet if we're not too busy with our lives, right?'' He was sure, he'd be able to make time anyway. As much as the Puffer was looking forward to going out into the world on his own, he did not want to leave Hogwarts.

"But you must have some ideas,'' he continued, very curious. "Me, I haven't made up my mind completely.'' He paused and looked out of the window. "I might work in the Wizarding World but I'm not completely sure as yet.'' He decided he would make his decision one step at a time.

"So, any plans to celebrate your graduation from Hogwarts later on?''

"We aren't really on a subj... oh, okay." Armies? Ranks? Why did he have to think about those?

Well, at least it gave him something else to think about besides the incoming school and all of its magical oddities. With a little shrug, Tyr moved off to find somewhere to sit.

The cat meowed up at the stranger petting her, but after a moment she arched her back and settled down, a purr rumbling in her throat. The stranger could be trusted, at least for now, because she had to admit the petting did feel really nice.

Isobel winced slightly at the usage of the term British accent: yup, she was clearly American on some level. "Oh, that's cool." Wait, hold on, that made no sense. "I'm pretty sure America doesn't have a Ministry..." If she remembered correctly, they had some sort of Department of Magic. She'd never been very interested in politics.

"Tinworth," she said, before remembering that a tiny little village by the coast might not be recognisable, especially to a (partially?) American girl. "It's near Cornwall, a half-magical village." Most of her friends were witches, with just a few muggles. Unfortunately, she was the only Hogwarts first year she knew, apart from Tora of course.

Department of Magic? Well probably, but Gram worked with the Ministry. "No, no. Gram works in the International Magical Cooperation with the Ministry." Gram must really have seemed American to Isobel. It would definitely make for a fun letter when Tora wrote to Gram to tell her that her act definitely worked.

Tinworth. It sounded slightly familiar.... Maybe Grandad had visited there recently while traveling? "Geez, that must be so much fun living in a wizarding village like that! The only friends I have are Muggles which is great... but I can't really talk to them ya know?" she said.

"Ohhhh." Yeah, it made about three hundred times more sense now. Isobel actually had no idea that people in International Magical Cooperation got to actually live in a different country! That sounded super fun. If she'd wanted to work in the Ministry, she would probably choose International Cooperation, but government was pretty boring, usually.

"It's okay. The only problem is, everybody and their mother knows that I'm going to Hogwarts, and if I don't get Sorted or something, they'll all laugh at me." Or pretend to be sympathetic and then laugh behind her back. Isobel paused, then changed the subject. "Are you hungry? Because I'm hungry."

Kace smiled at her. "Hi Minerva." He made a mental note to remember that name. Then she asked him about enjoying the trip and being sorted. "Oh well..i am kind of nervous about the sorting...the trip is going by so fast. I am scared to sit up in front of all the people..." he squirmed and looked down at his feet.

After taking a seat, the seventh year drew her attention to the window, eyeing the landscape for a moment. Gwen still had the sketchbook in her hand, though she was certain she wouldn’t start a new drawing. Mainly because she had good company. Ehh. After asking that question, Gwendolyn looked back at the Gryffindor… Erm… who was staring at her. For the first time she blushed. Just a little, though. Almost not even visible.

Heh.

Gwen just laughed when she heard his reply. He just couldn’t pay attention, could he? ‘Wake up’, she said jokingly, hitting him on the head with the sketchbook she was holding. Though, it is impossible for that to have hurt, because she had the power of a five year old. Ehh.

Once West had taken a mint, Theo popped the packet in his pocket and hoped he would forget about them. Otherwise he would pop them all out and spoil the upcoming feast. Because mint things mixed with dinner was gross. "It'll be a good one." Even if their beloved Dylan would be graduating soon. But they had ages to NOT think of that, so he wouldn't bring it up or anything. "Quidditch obviously, and Dora and Bliss." They were great. "Did you see much of Bliss over the summer?"

She better be the reason why he hadn't seen his bestie much this summer. Theo would rather think of that than West being with Mo or someone else.

Theo caught West's lil face, and he smiled.

Gotta love him but... Weird.

"Hope so..." West's face sort of switched and changed and went through a whole series of different expressions in the space of a second. "Yeah.... I did. We went to Brighton and stuff." That part was awesome. A whole lot of fun and everything....

"Told her about... stuff." He chewed his lip and looked out the window. "Don't know what's gonna happen."

Theo nodded with a half smile. Was he not going to ask about HIS summer with Dora? No? No, okay fine. "You told her??" GOSSIP. But not really because this was his bestie's feels. Theo DID like to know about those, though. "... how did she take it?"

Probably badly.

If Dora ever told him that she liked Alice that way, he would be very very very offended. Theo gave West a little pat on the shoulder, coupled with a it'll-be-okay face.

"How about things with Mo?"

"Everyone will get Sorted. You were asked to come to Hogwarts right? You're going to get accepted." That was that. No if ands or buts. "Oh and yes. I am hungry- do you think the famed snack trolly will come around soon?"

Agh the fooooddddd cart! When would it be here? Oh well might as well talk some more in the meantime. "Uh, how much of a stickler to the rules are you?" She asked. Tora all all intention to go out searching at odd hours if she felt like finding something out (likely) and possibly searching in areas off limits to students. She would of course do her best not to get caught but... there wouldn't be any promises. She needed to know how much she could potentially trust Isobel in that respect. Besides, getting in trouble every now and then made life interesting!

Zeke let out a short chuckle, as his left hand ran through his hair and ruffled it, "Sorry." Sheepish grin. AAAAAAND she hit him. Thank you very much Ezekiel Andrei de Ferreis for being so thoughtful as to ruffle your hair. That saved you from getting hit in the head. But he's been hit in the hand. "Ow?"

Yes. Ow with a question mark. "What was that for? I'm awake. Look at my eyes," he said as he widened his eyes open with his face only inches from hers. Okay, not a good idea. He quickly returned to his "area" of the compartment, and looked away. Again he was blushing. 'DO. NOT. LOOK. BACK. YET.' He kept thinking to himself while letting the pink in his cheeks die out. Die out....like a flame.

"Sorry," the blushing, brown haired boy mumbled. What, was what the word of the day? Because it seems like so.

. was there something wrong? She eyed him as he QUICKLY went into her compartment... ugh okay, that was totally normal.. not.. She say down and opened Salazar's cage and let her little owl sit on her arm. If this guy did anything stupid she'd just let Salazar attack.. he did love to bite people whenever she let him do so. She pet his little pet with her pointer finger and motioned for the guy to sit.

she blinked a few times as he asked her if she we're willing to help.. she wouldn't of let him come in here if she wasn't going to.. ugh. stupid boys "Look, i wouldn't of let you in my compartment or anywhere near me if i didn't think you were desperate for some help with some girl you like." yeah, she wasn't dumb "So just tell me the situation and i'll give the best advice i can then you go on and do what i say." she said quite frankly as she put salazar on her lap and he stretched out his wings and shook slightly. heh cute bird

Eliza's spirits lifted again when she saw that Lex had heard her. She waved again and lunged around the odd man to get closer to Lex and the people she was with. When she was close enough to speak normally, she said, "Oh that's what he's doing? Weird." She glanced back at him. "I don't think he even noticed me, but I saw him staring down some other people." Which in her opinion was a really creepy thing for an adult to be doing. "But...why do we need a ticket collector anyway? I mean, we're all invited to Hogwarts, right? Do you think they suspect people are trying to get in who don't belong?" The question made her eyes sparkle with curiosity. She loved a mystery. Especially secret mysteries where some people knew the answer instead of no one knowing it at all. Those types were far more intriguing since you could watch the looks on peoples' faces, trying to see if they'd give anything away... Yes, and this was one she'd want to find more information on. But before jumping to any crazy conclusions, she figured it was best to get a second opinion. Lex's seemed like a good one to spitball ideas with first, and she knew she'd probably be game to speculate with her. Or maybe she'd not be interested at all. Sometimes Lex was funny like that, but Eliza enjoyed the surprise of her moods.
