So to the printing!!! Lex all but slammed her hand down in the ink (had to be mindful of her company, he probably didn't want to be covered in ink), got the excess off and pressed it against the glass slab. Hmmmm....from what she could see, it just barely started at the index finger, like it almost wasn't there but that little tip gave it the edge. It wasn't really curvy either, looked straight and like it was in sync with that other line, kinda parallel, sure, if you say so and it wasn't all that long. She showed him the print. "Do your stuff Mr. Divination Genius." Then she would make an attempt on his hand. |
Catching up! SPOILER!!: Professor moving on and my partner! Kace made a mental note remembering her name was Nerida. No she was right they haven't met yet. "No we haven't met before but i am glad i did." he smiled to her. Then she asked him if he had any ideas of what hand he got. He really had NO idea. He looked down at his hand, "Ummm i have no idea yet. Let me check." he grinned while looking in his textbook. He was checking out his hand, his hands were small. The little guy had little fingers and hand for a first year. It was only normal. He examined his hands and said, "Well i am not sure about mine, but i know my fingers are short and i know they are somewhat stubby." he chuckled at that. "But my lines in my hands...they seem somewhat deeper than yours." he said looking at his hand and hers. He wasn't imagining things right. Then he heard the professor move on..... SPOILER!!: Kace's Parchment "Alright Nerida, i copied what type of hand i have. So maybe you can copy on your own paper and i can compare but now i hear the professor moving on. She wants us to read the lines on our hands. We have to grab an ink pad and make a hand print. You wanna start first?" he asked her. |

Following Alice's lead, Alec pressed the rubber stamp pad down onto the ink, making sure to get enough ink on there. He then held it up to his... wait... Elwood said left hand for boys, right? Okay, that would be better for note taking. He rubbed the rubber stamp pad against his left hand, trying to cover as much space as possible. There. Hand... meet glass slab! And now he had a hand!stamp! AWESOME! "So here's my hand--" But he broke off as his grey-blue eyes looked up at Alice's face and before he could help it, he burst out laughing. But not the kind of laughter that came about from a light chuckle, no, this one was a full on laughter that showed most of his teeth. "You look like a ninja!" A biting ninja... that actually sounded deadly. "Here you go!" he said, placing the hand print down near her. Also, speaking of ninjas, or just people who were on a mission... Alec dipped his index and middle fingers into the ink before holding the ink-stained fingers up and spreading the ink on each cheek. There. Because leaving your friend alone in ninja-mode was probably against ninja-laws. Maybe. |
Text Cut: :3 When he had taken notes down, she took a peek at his like he had at hers. To make sure he was right, you know? Right he was though and so she didn't go on to check past his second explanation. He wrote a lot more than she did. Impressive and so thumbs up for him there and that grin even more thumbs up. Next? She had half heard the Professor and understood what. "First we need to get some stuff." She pointed to the professor's desk. "We need to get two rubber pads, two slabs and one ink pad for us." She would have probably gotten it on her own, but maybe the kid wanted to help. "You wanna give me a hand?" She asked and slowly got up from her seat to head towards Elwoods desk. |

"Mine is very short and starts below my index finger. It doesn't have any lines through it or coming off of it. Just one small solid line." He looked over the list again and proceeded, "Here's what I have written down. Does yours look correct?" Quote:

Ashe's heart line was pretty great considering things. The sixteen year old smiled and consulted her notes, glancing back at the print every now and then. "Looks like you've got a pretty solid heart line." Mini!beam. She knew the not being interested in romance thing would change soon enough. It always did. Then glancing at his notes, Ella nodded. "Everything looks great. I'll just get mine down as well." Scribble. Scribble. Scribble. Quote:

Eye black: check. They just needed ski mask things now. Heart line, though. Right. "It.. starts in the middle.. kinda long.. curvy.. ish? Um, smaller lines.. crossing it.. I think?" Sure, she'd go with that. Sadly, Alec wasn't taking notes for her anymore, so Alice peeked at the ones he'd already made and finished up his section of the parchment. Quote:

Middle... long... curvy... smaller lines crossing it... All of that didn't really sound bad to Alec. It was just describing a line, yeah? But then Hulk said something about being emotionally traumatised and all Alec could do was... blink at her. Was he emotionally traumatised? Did he even know? "Erm... I don't think so..." BLINK. "Does it say that I'm emotionally traumatised?" Shaking his head, he looked down at the glass slab that had Alice's hand print on it. "Okay... erm... your heart line begins under the middle finger which means that you're selfish in love..." He... wasn't going to tell West that, if it was true. "It's straight and short which... means..." Squint at blackboard. "Less interest in romance. And it touches the life line so that means you get your heart broken easily." Frown. Alec didn't like the sound of someone breaking Hulk's heart. Nope. He turned to her and smiled a little, waiting for her verdict. Also... notes. He should take some of those, right? Quote:

SPOILER!!: lalalaaaa Woooo, he got a thumbs up! That means Toby-did-good. Right yeah, they needed ~stuff. That was cool, he could do that. "Yep, I can help!" Tobias nodded and got up out of his chair and moved towards Elwood's desk at the front. He knew that everyone needed a glass slab and a rubber thingy and there was also ink but Tobias' arms were already too full. "I got my two things," he pointed out. Nessie could get the ink, she'd have that covered. Yup. Then he led the way baaaaaaaack to their desk and carefully set the stuff down. |

So off she followed the kiddo back to their seat and just like him put everything down. Now the real fun began, the real reading. She'd let him go first this time, it was only fair...unless he wanted to see how things were done? But she could always guide him if need be. "You ready for what's next?" She didn't exactly give him time to reply, because they'd have to get going anyways. "So take the ink and the rubber pad." She did as she said with hers. "Then push the pad into the ink." Squiiish. Once again followed her own instructions. "Now take the rubber pad and press it against your left hand, kiddo. Once your hand has ink, press it against the glass and then walla."She lifted up her own glass and showed him her right hand print. If he had finished with his print, then he could read hers. She handed it over. "Read the heart line. This one." She showed him which line on her actual hand that was now filled with ink. He understood then? |

Eliza smiled at Sarah as she told her about her hand, and she took notes. Once she'd finished, Sarah hopped up and brought back the supplies with her for them to move onto the stamping part. "Thanks Sarah, that was nice of you!" she said happily once she returned. "Yeah, I've stamped some things before but never my whole hand. I imagine it's not much different from making palm prints with paint though right?" She rolled up her sleeves, pressed the ink to the rubber, her hand to the inked rubber, and then her hand to the piece of glass. "Voila!" she said, holding up the glass to show her imprint. She studied it for a few moments and then glanced at her hands. It was weird because...we left heart line was a little different than her right heart line, but Elwood had said for girls to read their right, so that's what she did. "Looks like my heart line starts under my middle finger, but it doesn't reach it. About an inch down from it...." She followed the line on her palm. "And it has a pretty sharp curve, like almost a perfect circular edge and then it straightens back out and goes all the way to the edge of my hand." It was sort of interesting. "How about yours?" While she let Sarah stamp and investigate her own hand, she took her notes and read the descriptions. "Oh...well I don't much like what it says about me, but maybe it's wrong, at least partially." She was supposed to let Sarah interpret her hand though, so she stopped reading ahead and waited for Sarah to tell Eliza about her heart line. Then Eliza could read to Sarah what the descriptions said about Sarah's heart line. SPOILER!!: Parchment |
SPOILER!!: doop de doooooop Right. Yes. Right. Tobias was carefully watching everything Ness did and actually properly listening too. Focusing on lessons was a lot easier when you were working with another student, especially the older ones that helped you out and stuff. Usually he just zoned out and that was that. This time he was ON THIS. "Left hand," Tobias repeated and held up said hand in front of him before picking up the rubber pad and mimicking Nessie exactly by pressing it into the ink. Then he pressed his left hand on the inky stamp and then his inky hand onto the glass. When he pulled it away he noted that it wasn't a perfect print but it was pretty okay for a first try AND you could still see the lines. It wasn't like the fingerprints were that important anyway, right? "Sweet." Swapping his glass slab with Nessie's, Tobias looked at where she pointed on her own hand. Okay... that hand. Right. He could do this. Staring at the glass slab, Tobias tilted his head curiously and staaaaared at the line. Yes. Right. There were things on the board he was meant to be looking for, so Tobias quickly went down the list looking for the right things. There weren't many he could be certain that he saw, but there were definitely a couple. It was difficult not to touch the glasses and trace the line but he was worried he might smudge it. Eventually he added more to his notes rather than say it out loud just in case he disturbed the Head Girl or anyone else in their working. Quote:
Then he just kind of glanced every now and then towards the Professor. He was seeing flaws in this divination stuff, and wasn't sure he really believed it was that legit, but said nothing. "That was fun," he told Ness. "I liked the stamping part." |
She was taking notes and doing what she was told but being quiet in the back cause she had a headache that was killing her, and she couldn't be bothered really. ... yup... palm reading.. lines and all that good stuff... Scribble..scribble... she had this.. Wait... did Elwood say partners..?... ariana blinked and looked up and saw most people taken..... Great... she'd just work alone or something... |
Excellent! The students seemed really excited to read each other's hands and were partnering up quickly. There were a few students who seemed a little shy or out of their element when it came to partner work but they needn't worry. "Don't forget if you don't have a partner you can do this task on your own." As long as they did it they would have the benefit of learning and receive points. "The Head Line is next guys." She used her wand to add the information on the second line found on the palm. "This line represents a person's learning style, communication approach, intellectualism, and thirst for knowledge." Something really appropriate to be looking at in a classroom. "Find and interpret this line in your's or your partner's hand print and record it with your findings on the hand type and Heart line." SPOILER!!: BlackBoard |
Catching up! (like a cool kid) Right, right. They needed to partner up for stuff and find out about who's hand was what type of element...but Dylan didn't really see anyone else to work with. Could he work by himself...but he could legit do that. In fact, he liked working with himself... Yep. SHUNNING ALL THE PEOPLE. Pulling his notebook close, he went about making notes on his own hand. He'd long since decided that his had aa Air Hand for reasons. So, jotting things down about that... SPOILER!!: Dylan's Parchment After he finished up, Dylan eyed all the things and snorted. He needed to do that impression drawing next...with the ink pad and slab. Getting up, he retrieved the materials and settled back in at his seat. Rubbing some of the ink all over his hand, the Slytherin carefully pressed it down on the paper...making sure to get all areas of the hand...After doing so, he pulled it back and eyed the inky blob with some interest. His prints stood out in contrast with the ivory-colored parchment...Was he doing this right? Then his textbook was getting flipped open and he was interpreting lines, their length...and all the bumps and things in them...The book was saying some interesting things about him that he personally didn't know... SPOILER!!: Dylan's Parchment Hmm. |
Text Cut: *twiiiiiirls about* Looking at Tobias glass hand print, the red head attempted to exame in heart line. He was hopefully doing the same with hers, which she looked up check on. He seemed fine, and so she focused back on the little first year's hand before her. Not so much like her hand that was now filled with ink, but then that good they were different. Made things way more interesting. Hmmm. So what did she have here? Below the middle finger for sure, she scribbled some stuff on that as well as that she noted it was straight, straight and kinda short. More scribbles there. anything else she could see...hmm..ohh those lines crossing, there was something on the board about that. Looking at her notes she added reasoning to each thing and once done with that, she looked over at Tobias once more. As he handed her, his parchment she handed him his. Quote:
Nods and smiles for you, kiddo. "Fun it was, the ink felt weird didn't it?" Speaking of ink he had a spot on his cheek. AWWWWWW. "Just stay still for a second." She gave her finger a quick lick and wiped the ink off his cheek. FELT SO PINCHABLE. She couldn't resist but give his cheek just a little pinch. SQUISHY! Okay. Mellow. Back to work. "You heard the Professor, then?" She asked wondering if he needed more explanation before the wrote more notes. |
SPOILER!!: DecemberMoon;11388262 Glad that Eliza(Sarah quite liked the name... she also had in in her family) knew what to do, Sarah watched as the girl printed her hand on glass. Sarah examined the glass while Eliza described the results. It matched. "Well... as it starts under your middle finger it supposedly means that you are selfish when it comes to love... I don't about this curve thing" Sarah pointed... "what is the difference between wavy and curly?" she asked... "because either it means that you are open about yourself and feelings or it means that you have a lot of lovers and no serious relationships", Sarah doubted the latter. This was confusing and all rubbish. Then Sarah placed her palm on the ink pad and pressed down, feeling the spongey surface then she lifted her palm and placed it on the glass. She looked at the long and curvy line that started just under her index finger. She would probably mess up on interpretating it, so she turned to Eliza "what can you see in mine?" SPOILER!!: Parchment |
Asher ^_^ Moving on again? Ella listened carefully to Professor Elwood, wishing she had some ice cream she could read. Was that a type of divination too? Better yet, was ice cream eating a form of divination because if so, she was ALL about them practicing that some time. Just saying. The fifth year was hungryyyyy! Bounce. Anyway, head lines. Ella slid her glass print in between her and Asher, observing her print quite carefully. "I think...my head line is quite curvy, what about you?" And she looked up, giving the first year a small smile. "And this..." She said, pointing to a certain point in the middle, "Do you think that might be a break?" Sure looked like one. She wouldn't mind a break right now. An ice cream one, obviously. "Let's get a look at yours too." |
SPOILER!!: Sarah She listened to Sarah and checked her print on the glass. "Well, I don't think I have a lot of romances, so I'll say my Heart Line is curvy and not wavy." She blushed and chuckled at the thought though. The line for Sarah's Heart line looked long and curvy. It started under the index finger, unlike Eliza's. She checked the notes to see what it meant and read them aloud to Sarah. "Okay, your heart line starts right under your pointer or index finger so that means that you're content with your love life. ...Erm, or will be I guess, if you don't have one yet?" She giggled a little about it. They were both so young, but who knew, maybe Sarah had a boyfriend already. "At any rate, it sounds good. The length and curviness of it suggest that you are able to freely express your emotions and feelings too. So that's two good things in a row!" She smile and copied down what she'd described. SPOILER!!: Head Line Directions Now they were moving on to the Head Line. She checked her own print and saw that her Head Line wasn't all that long. It also curved downwards, but it never touched any other of the major lines. She held it up for Sarah to see so she could interpret it. Then she looked to Sarah's glass slab and tried to figure out her Head Line. "Let's see yours too," she said as she examined it. She wondered if her and Sarah's Head Lines were at all similar. SPOILER!!: Parchment |
I'm super tired so I'll do more stuff in my next post but thought I'd reply anyway :3 SPOILER!!: wordswordswords Tobias glanced over to see what Nessie had written. Oh man, his hand was WEIRD. Was he selfish in love? Tobias didn't know... he'd never been in love and wasn't all that bothered. Though that actually made the second point make sense. He wasn't interested in lurrrrve. But Tobias did giggle and what Ness had written about that. This class definitely had its opportunities for fun. At the third point, Tobias tilted his head. Emotional trauma. He wasn't entirely sure what that was but had a vague idea as to the definition, but that surely wasn't right, was it? Tobias was always happy. Tobias was never sad. He didn't let himself be sad. Silly hand was silly. Wait, what? Hold still? Why did he need to hold sti- ah... okay. It took him a second but Tobias soon realised that some of the ink from his hand must have got on his face, so he did indeed stay still so the Head Girl could fix his face because his face was... you know... generally important. Because his face was HIM. "That tickles," Tobias giggled, but she seemed all finished with that anyway. "Thank you!" he added. She could easily have just left him to go around like that, but she was nice so she didn't. YAY FRIEND. But now back to moving on. Tobias glanced at the board again, and then to Ness, and then at his own notes, then the board again, then at the slab with Ness' hand print and then at his own hand and back to the slab again. "Yeah... I think I got it. Like doing the same as with the other line but with the next line," Tobias summed up and let his mind wander for a few seconds as he glanced around the class before staring at the palm print again, looking for what matched up with the stuff on the board. |
"Okay, so..." Mo carefully pressed Lex's hand evenly across the glass slab before lifting it without smudging, and then he looked intently at the print. He was a Divination genius, thanks, and so he'd tell her what her hand meant. "So this is for a past life or whatever, since we're using your right hand." He turned the print around and around. "Looks like you were content with your love life, which must be nice, huh? Also sorta looks like you weren't very interest in romance," he pointed to the shorter heart line, before continuing. "And maybe that you had a good handle on your emotions. Maybe you'll get that trait back, huh? 'Cause you definitely are... excitable now." Not that there was anything wrong with that. And were they already moving on to the Head Line? "And uh... your head line... it's straight and long, which I guess means you are clear and focused and realistic. Or you were? Aren't we talking about past life Alexa?" It was so confusing. SPOILER!!: Parchment "Okay, now me." Mo picked up the roller and rolled his palm before placing it squarely on the other glass slab. |
SPOILER!!: Mo Admittedly, Lex didn't much believe this Divination stuff. She tried not to because more than half the readings she'd ever gotten were terrible and she preferred not thinking those could apply to her. These, however, actually weren't all that bad. She could live with the stuff Mo was saying about her...even if it had more to do with some sort of past life? That's what he said and he was the Divination!Genius so yeah, she was amazing in her past life and it was time to read about what he was like before he became Vivi's brother. They were starting with the heart line, yeah? After he'd gotten his print done she gave it a shot. Hmmmmm...."Heeeeeeey, did you know, your heart line starts at your index finger tooooooo? That's like, we have that in common!!!" Oh but she was meant to be interpreting. "You were content with your love life." Nod. But wait. "Bummer, you used to have your heart broken easy, see, it's touching the life line." And she was pointing in case he couldn't see. Right theeeeere. It took a moment of looking before she noticed the next thing. "I also think you might have freely expressed your emotions and feelings. That's what the notes say anyway." Just reading what was there. She would scribble that down after reading his head line. This would be interesting. "So...it's short...you use to prefer physical achievements over mental ones--look at that! Now you're a 'Claw!' oh the irony, you know, if this stuff was real. "It's kinda curved too...you were creative, neat! You lived a good life." From what she could see anyway. And now to record that. SPOILER!!: Lex's Parchment Was there anything else they would be reading? |
Ella Quote:
He looked down at his hand print, trying to see all the features. "It looks like mine is rather short. It's actually very short. Doesn't touch any other lines and is very straight." He glanced up at Ella, "Do you agree?" Asher scribbled his findings down on his parchment, leaving room to add more. They had done the head and heart line, so he figured the would finish with the last two lines the professor had in the examples. Quote:
|
She listened to Sarah and checked her print on the glass. Now they were moving on to the Head Line. SPOILER!!: Parchment [/spoiler] Sarah was glad Eliza never had a lot of romances. Sarah laughed, "thankfully I don't have a love life... in that way I mean." That thankfully was coming from her head not her heart. They tended to disagree with each other on that topic. "So maybe my brain is happy that I don't have one?" But then again, it was a heartline... does that mean that her heart was also happy? This was confusing, thankfully it was nonsense anyway. "Yet once I finish Hogwarts, then I think having a love life will be okay". Woman were emotionally mature before men, so they had to wait until men became adults and becaming more emotionally mature. Then again, that was what her head said.. Her heart had other plans. The other part, "That is actually true," surely statistics at work, "as my mother days my face is an open book, I am too free with my emotions. Like I like to say things as they are, say what I feel and not lying... nowadays I cut down on that as other people don't like it" Sarah examined Eliza's head line.. "ohh.. here is nice one... because your line slopes down it shows creativity and as it does not touch the life line it shows that you love adventure and have enthusiasm for life!" Was Eliza a kindred spirit in this area? "also it is short which means you prefer physical achievments over mental ones" They were no so kindred then, "you play quidditch- don't you?" she asked. Sarah then examined her own one... her headline started deep, yet then shallowed as it went on. It was a bit straight, then it suddenly sloped upwards after which it did its own wavy things. It did not touch the other line, even though it was pretty long. Sarah handed the glass plate over to Eliza. She was nervous that Eliza would tell that she was ADHD through her results, as no one really knew that, as Sarah was concientious about her medicine. SPOILER!!: Parchment |
That's okays! <3 Text Cut: Theeee cutest ickle ever. *luffs him so* So the head line, that was the second line and apparently represented knowledge, brains all of that stuff. Would be interesting to see, but before she did any examinations she wrote some notes of her own on both the heart line and head line. This would be for studying later on, in case she needed to know how to do this. A few scribbles later she was done and once more looked at Tobias' ickle hand print. Hmmmmm. What could she see this time? The first thing she noticed was how it was quite separated from his life line, she looked at her own copied notes of the board and read what that meant. Definitely suited this kid. So scribbles on that for him. Looking back at the print she examined the head line again, wavy it was as well as it had multiple crosses through it. Just like before she checked those definitions and wrote some more about his hand. She looked over her notes and then looked back at Tobias to see how far he was. "Ready, when you are." To swap notes that was, because checking them was good. Yep? Text Cut: Parchment |
