Divination Lesson One (Tasseomancy) The beginning of term was upon them and even though the first week or so had already passed and everyone was practically settled in, the first Divination lesson of the term had yet to happen. Today was the day though and the trapdoor to the classroom was open and the ladder was lowered. |
Taylor came in, "Good day, Professor!" She smiled at her, "How was your summer?" Tay did a twirl of happiness and looked around the classroom before looking back at the professor, waiting for an answer. |
This school was like the never ending classes parade. Every single day he had ANOTHER class. Was that quite normal? No, he really didn't think so. Weird stuff. Really, really weird stuff. Psh, school. Awkward concept. ANYWAY, he supposed that this wasn't so bad for female reasons. Female PROFESSOR reasons that was, you know. He didn't mind so much when he got to not pay attention in a class that was taught by a woman because at least he was starring at them and nod sleeping. Yeah. Because sleeping was OBVIOUS when you weren't trying to listen. Just staring at a pretty face was discreet. Smirk. Shaking his head of this, he walked into the classroom and noticed ANOTHER really fit female Professor at the front of the room. Jeez. He had been good in a previous life. This was his prize. Gorgeous female Professors everywhere he turned. Thank you. Ascanius smirked, ruffled his hair out of his face and approached his Professor, "Good morning, ma'am. You look lovely today." Bam. Charm on. Mmk, time to sit down and get settled. |
Ella climbed up the ladder slowly and peeked her head through the trapdoor. She smiled a little at Professor Elwood as she stood and smoothed her robes, greeting her cheerfully. "Hello, Professor! Hope you had a nice summer." The blonde then settled down at one of the tables towards the windows, pulling out some parchment and her quill and waiting to get started. |
Tower lessons were always a bit tricky for her. Whenever she happened to be in or near her Common Room, they were terrific! When she was somewhere like, ohh I don't know, maybe the kitchen trying to find some decent food, they were most certainly NOT. Luckily she had just woken up from a wonderful nap in her dorm making the distance more than bearable! She was even smiling!! Lex made her way up the ladder and into the Divination Classroom humming something to herself. New term with Divination No such luck though. Her face, under normal circumstances, would have fallen but it wasn't that upsetting. How curious. "Hello Professor!" BEAM. "Looking forward to your lesson today....despite the lack of candy." Ahem. "Did you have an interesting summer?" She asked, while looking for the right seat. |
Mack beamed as she entered the classroom, she really was wondering what she would learn in Divination. She wasn't sure if she believed in it all but only time could tell. Her mother had been rather good at the subject so it couldn't hurt to try and she knew it would make her mother proud. "Hello Professor!!" the small blonde grinned "Have a nice summer?" She knew that the professor was probably tired of hearing these words, but what else was she supposed to say? |
Nigel opened climbed into class and was surprised that it was not too hot in this tower. Because if it was he would have to take a nap. That was just how Nigel was. Sleep takes priority if it is too hot in a classroom. "Hello, Professor Elwood". Nigel greeted her with a smile. Now to find a seat in the back of the room. Divination was not one of his best classes. |
Finding the divination room was quite tough. He went through many trapdoors and empty classrooms till he found it. After he climbed up the many stairs and was out of breath, he made it to the classroom. He found it was quite hot in the room, then again...he did just do like twenty stairs or more. Kace saw the professor and nodded, "Hello Professor." He was excited to see what this class had in store. |
After climbing up the ladder and through the trapdoor, Ronnie gave a small wave to the professor. "Hello, professor!" she said with a smile. She then made her way to an empty table and took a seat, setting her book bag next to her chair. She glanced around the room, looking for any familiar faces. |
Beezus had really thought they didn't have Divination this term anymore. It's officially been Day 11 since the term started and they have been deprived of any forms of Divination up until today. It even crossed her mind that Professor Elwood quit the job. But she didn't. Thankfully. Beezus would be a hypocrite if she'd say she didn't enjoy a class or two. More often than not, some readings were......appropriate. So she had to settle with the fact that Divination wasn't too bad. Plus, Professor Elwood was definitely one of the most interesting Professors there is. The Ravenclaw offered her a smile. "Good day, Professor Elwood. It's nice to see you." Really. It was. |
The dust that had invaded the castle ever since school started seemed to have avoided the Divination classroom |
It was official Nerida hated climbing, walking or doing anything that required movement. She climbed up the stairs. She had gone through everything and now all she wanted was a nap, a long nice one! She smiled a little she had finally reached the class. After standing up she straightened and smoothed out her robes. After doing so she cast a smile towards Professor Elwood and greeted her cheerfully. "Hello, Professor! Hope you had a wonderful summer!" The blonde then looked around, Hey look theres Ella. Walking over she said "Hey Ella, hope you summer was fantastic. She took a seat near her. After sitting she pulled out some parchment and a quill, to get ready for notes! |
West rubbed at his eyes as he entered the classroom, tired from tryouts and lack of good sleep, and being kept awake from his brain imagining all sorts of things it shouldn't have been imagining. "Hello professor." He mumbled a bit and cut himself off with a yawn, then simply sat down in the first available seat. |
Jory felt a spring in his step as he happily headed for the Divination Classroom. This was one of his favorite subjects ever. There was always something interesting to learn. He particularly the lesson with Footprints last term. "Hallo, Professor Elwood,'' the Puffer greeted enthusiastically. "It's great to see you again.'' He wanted to add, "How long more before the lesson starts?'' but instead went off to find a seat. |
Minerva made her way up the stairs to the Divination classroom. First class of the term and she was excited. She loved this class, not sure why, but she always looked forward to being in it. She never felt it was as stressful as the others and the stuff just seemed to come a little easier. Excited about the club that was going to start up this term as well, Minerva made her way into the room. "Hello professor, did you have a good summer? Were you ready to come back?" Silly question she knew no professor would say no, but she asked anyway. Turning she went to find her usual seat near the front and get her things ready for class. |
Ethan walked briskly towards the Divination tower. He wasn't late, just eager to get to class for a reason he couldn't quite figure. Maybe he just liked this class? It was possible.. Divination was remotely interesting to the seventh year, especially lately. Once he reached the classroom, Ethan climbed the ladder and stepped inside. "Good day, Professor," he greeted Elwood cheerily. No need to ask how her summer was as others often did in the first classes of the term. He had already visited with her in her office last week. Good to see that this classroom didn't seem to be affected by budget cuts, he thought, and turned to find a seat. Oh, a few he knew here already.. He gave a nod to Taylor, Nigel, and Beezus, then walked over to the empty seat next to Minerva. Lowering himself in the chair, he pulled his messenger bag to the side and gave her a grin, "Hey, Min.." He vaguely wondered what form of Divination they'd be studying today.. that eye one they did last term sounded good to him right about now, as long as they were looking at actual people's eyes this time.. |

Still not entirely sold on the art of Divination, Eliza slowly climbed into the room. She was expecting it to be warm and cozy like usual, but was happy to feel a breeze from the open windows. Once inside the room, she crossed over towards the professor before finding a seat. "Good day, Professor Elwood," she said with a smile. Just because she wasn't a blind believer in the subject, didn't mean she liked the teacher any less. She hoped that by signing up for the Divination Club, she'd learn more about the subject as well as how to be better at divining things - if that was even possible for her personally. She did think that very rarely, a few special individuals could find truth, meaning, and even predictions in things that the rest of mankind couldn't, so she was trying to keep her mind open about it. She turned to find a seat and saw Ella at a table. Well, I know she'll probably want to sit with Alec, sooo... I'll just sit at the table next to hers. They'd been partners in Divination once or twice before, so she thought it might be nice to keep meeting up a bit in the class. She took a seat, pulled out some paper and a quill, and turned in her seat to greet the badger in a quiet and discreet voice. "Hey Ella! How are tryouts going?" She knew she must be really busy with all of her Quidditch duties this season. |
It was Professor Pretty, in her pretty classroom, looking remarkably pretty. And a little hazy, but maybe Mo just needed to remember to wear his glasses. Or maybe there was incense in the air or something. He scurried in to find a seat and waved at the professor. "Good day to you, Professor P... Professor. I trust you had a nice summer. Did you see into the future?" |
Thinking cap on for this class, too. Alice climbed up the ladder and through the trapdoor, bags prominent under her eyes, but she was still feeling very thinky. She was, really. Kinda sorta. "Morning, Professor," she voiced quietly as she passed Elwood, then selected a seat next to Scany, not even mustering up enough energy to give him a wink or anything. It just required to much effort today, winking. Effort that she was too tired to put in at the moment. Did he gawk at, like, every female professor? It was kind of amusing. Good entertainment. |
To Danielle_Daughn Divination lessons! Sonea almost couldn’t believe it, she had waited all the time at home for this lesson! It was maybe stupid to like a lesson like this, her mum and dad didn’t like it, so she had nobody told that she liked it, but… She was now REALLY excited and WANTED to learn more about this subject, the thought to predict the future was something what Sonea really interested. “Hello professor!” Smiled Sonea when she had climbed up the ladder and saw the professor sitting on her desk. Still smiling Sonea looked at the class, looking if she knew somebody and nodded to the student’s she recognized. Her smile widened when she saw that Mack was already inside the classroom and walked to the other girl, “Is it good that I sit beside you?” Asked Sonea still smiling. |
When she arrived into the Divination classroom, Aphrodite notice there have been several students who already entered this class. She walked to the table located near the Professor's table and said, "Good Day, Professor Elwood," she said, smiling at the Professor and decided to sit on the chair at the front desk. |

As she entered the room she almost sagged from exhaustion but immediately smiled when she saw Mo. She scrambled forward and took a seat next to him at the little table. Glancing over she was going to thank him for de-muding her the other day when she noticed the squinting. Shrugging she just turned her attention back to Professor Elwood. "Good day isn't it Professor Elwood?" She asked in her chipper as ever tone. Tipping her head up she just let the breeze tickle her cheek smiling brightly. The breeze felt great, awesome really. |
Text Cut: MO AND MIKS!! The journey alllll the way up to the Divination tower really was a climb, even for him. Trying not to look too tired from it, because he really wasn't, he sort of waved at the professor. "Good day Ma'am." he said, and then looked around the room. Oh look, there was Miks... and she was sitting with Mo. That well, maybe he should sit with them. Yeah. Weaving in between the other tables he dropped down at the open seat at their table. "Hey, y'all" |
Isobel was humming as she walked into the Divination classroom. She wasn't quite sure what she was humming, but it had been stuck in her head for two days now, so it had to be from something cool. "Hello, Professor, I hope you're doing well," she said absent-mindedly, scanning the room for a seat. She was oddly cheerful today, and it seemed that no matter what happened, she would stay that way. A breeze fluttered her hair, and for a moment Isobel felt like a character on a book cover, face turned into the wind as dramatic things happened in the background. The feeling dissipated a moment later, though, and Isobel took a seat and pulled out her notebook. She fumbled for her quill and ink and set herself up by writing Divination Lesson One in the top left-hand corner of the page. |
Divination. This was probably the only class that hasn’t gotten her all confused and anxious since she moved to Hogwarts. For one thing its really close to her Common Room, so her chances of getting lost was zilch. Second it was taught by a woman, a presence that this Claw is used to Not that she was still any good at deciphering oracles but that’s beside the point. “Good day Professor Elwood.” this waif-like blonde greeted the other blond, before carefully making her way to one of the seats. |
