Elodie led the way toward the Great Hall, sighing as she came to the turnstiles. She'd forgotten about this in the whole homework thing. Part of her wanted to attach a note to her homework asking if they could get that money back, but she probably wouldn't. It wasn't specifically her money she was putting in. Her brother was pretty cool like that, with his letters and monies.

Putting in a sickle, because it was all she had on her for right now, she went on through.

Theo was excited, yet a bit a nervous, about meeting up with Ella. It had been the first time they'd properly hung out since he declared his undying love for her and she knocked him back. How could this possibly be awkward? Theo leaned against one of the turnstiles with a bag of money in his hand which he enjoyed flailing about in the air above him.

He decided to wait for Ella here, just in case she didn't have enough money to get in and he could be the hero. A genius idea, I know.

WHoooooosh.. Uh.... oh.

The bag that he was flailing around above his hand left his grip by accident and splatted straight on the floor, knuts spilling everywhere. DARN. Theo rushed forwards and squatted down to pick them up one by one.

Ella was nervous. Mostly because she hadn't seen Theo in ages and she was afraid he hated her guts. Only she was actually more nervous he loved her guts still though she was confident he'd gotten over that. He had Dora now and she was happy for him. Really happy. Something she'd probably mention at some point...Maybe. Anyway, she pondered all of this as she made her way towards the turnstiles.

Just as she was turning the corner, the blonde saw Theo and the little change explosion that had taken place. She shook her head and hurried to kneel down next to him, offering him a small smile. "Weird. I was just thinking how fun it'd be to pick up money and here you are, doing just that." Grin. "Hi, by the way. It's good to see you." And she'd help him with the coin cleanup, obviously. What are friends for?

Quuuuuuuuick! Had to get all of this before Ella showed up. Theo had another pile left to go and oh... there was that familiar voice. Theo smiled at the floor, then looked up at her. "Total accident. Oh, thanks." He had hoped to get them all before she felt obliged to help, but that was nice too, he supposed. Theo popped his last lot into his bag again, then held it out for Ella to put the others in afterwards.

"Hey." He said, then let an awkward silence follow. That was the worst kinda thing, but was inevitable really.

"Good to see you, too." Theo hovered on the spot, then stepped a bit closer to her. He almost went to hug her. Was that weird? Yeah, it was... Theo stood back again and looked at the ground. "You got enough money? Cos I have tons here." He CAREFULLY tipped a few knuts into his hand until he had twelve. Cool.

"I figured and no problem." People didn't usually drop coins on purpose. Y'know, unless they were dropping them into a fountain or something. Perfectly good waste of money, by the way. Ella gathered up a few of the knuts into her hands and dropped them into the bag when it was offered. See? All clean.

The silence...was a bit weird. Ella just kind of fiddled with her hands while she waited for Theo to say something else. Because they probably had a lot to discuss, yeah? Like...life in general. They had a lot to catch up on once one of them plucked up the courage to talk.

Were hugs happening? Ella inched a bit closer as well and then blinked because Theo...wasn't hugging her. Which resulted in a moment of just awkwardly standing too close and staring. YUP. This was going just swimmingly.

As if on cue, the blonde stepped back too and smiled a little at the boy's offer. "I've got enough, thanks. Want to head inside?"

"Thanks." Theo said, looking at her for a bit longer this time. She looked different but he was sure it was just because he hadn't seen her for AGES other than when she was flying around on the Quidditch pitch. He'd managed to put her captain status out of his mind because for a moment at the start of term, he thought he'd fall in love with her again. Can't have that now, can we?!

Awkward. Did she WANT a hug? Maybe they'd sneak a little one later when the dinner was over. It would be less awkward than those cheek kisses that Theo used to give her.

"Cool." Theo nodded and put the rest of his money away. He totally forgot about the whole ladies first thing, and slotted all of his knuts in the turnstile. It worked! Theo was always convinced it wouldn't let him through despite having the correct amount of money. A paranoia thing. He turned and smiled at Ella to wait for her.

So...time to go in. That was good. Food would be a good distraction if like, they ran out of things to talk about or something. Not that they should. Ella had lots she wanted to tell him, y'know. Whether he wanted to hear any of it was a whole different story.

The blonde watched as Theo went through the turnstile and then took her turn, putting in the correct amount. She smiled as she went through, ready to eat.

"Let's go." BEAM.

Dammit, he was too good at his job and he knew it. Look at her. She'd barely had one bowl of ice cream and she was gone, high on a sugar rush, never going to float back down to earth anytime soon.

And that just plain sucked. These turnstiles sucked. Hogwarts in general sucked. Erik was definitely sulking as he and Ivy marched up to the Great Hall. He dug around in his pocket for change and thrust in the...wait, ten knuts each? Ten? Did they know how ridiculous a fee that was?

Still, Ivy wasn't going to go anywhere without more ice cream. He knew her and he knew the power of the dairy dessert. Grumbling old Norse curses under his breath, the man pulled out two sickles (it was all he had on him) and shoved them through the turnstiles.

"There, we're in the Great Hall," he mumbled to Ivy. "Happy?" That was a rhetorical question.

Ivy followed Erik with a certain spring in her step that could only have been created by the presence of ice cream in her belly! Heheh. Coming up to the turnstiles, Ivy dug into her robes and pulled out ten knuts before following Erik inside.

"Yes, I am happy," she said with a grin, clinging to his arm again with a cheery smile. "Aren't you?" WASN'T HE? There was ice cream in sight! How strange that she didn't like it before! Ivy drug Erik along. This was important, you know.

Erik felt a small pinch in his chest when Ivy grinned at him like that, like she hadn't a care in the world and like ice cream was the best thing ever invented. "No," he answered sullenly. How could he be happy when he knew the cause of her faux happiness? And the effects of it?

He sighed and let her drag him along. "Go pick out a table for us." Anywhere but the staff dais, preferably.
