He heard the professor saying he wasn't gonna name her. Then he would get attached to it. It was understandable. He was gonna be sad leaving her too even though he just met her. Kace heard the lesson was over. Wowww...time flies by when you experience a cow birth for the first time. He moved away from the calf and then said "Goodbye baby calf." he smiled toward her. Then he took off his gloves and disposed them into the trash. He smiled to both of the professors, "Thank you for the lesson! It was amazing to experience. I did better than i expected!" he said with glee. Then he was off back towards the castle and go to his next lesson. |
Tobias had been quite content watching everyone. He didn't want to make the mistake he'd made with his legopuff in Defence Against the Dark Arts where he got attached to it and made friends with it and then had to say goodbye. So yeah... staying back was a good idea. He could appreciate the baby cow from here. But the lesson was over anyway. Tobias didn't need to take off any gloves because he'd never put any on, so instead he just waved goodbye to both the baby cow and the mother cow and blew them each a kiss to help them feel as strong as possible as soon as they could. "Thanks for the lesson," he said to the professor and the groundskeeper, still keeping his voice quite soft because he was worried about startling the creatures. Then he went to grab his bag and left for his next lesson. |
Minerva had finished with her turn with the baby cow and had disposed of the gloves. She made her way back to the front of Bonny and pet the cows head. "How are you doing? You did so well." Smiling at the exhausted mother she turned her attention to the professor. Time was up already? No that just didn't seem right, but they did have other classes to get to. She just didn't want to leave. Giving Bonny one last pat on the head she turned and gathered her things. Stopping in front of the professor and Mr. Firth. "Thank you for the amazing experience today. This was truly very interesting." Turning towards Mr. Firth, "I'm going to try to stop by in a few days if that's still alright and if I can do anything to help out let me know please." She gave them both smiled before turning and heading back to the castle. |
BABYBABYBABY! Anya was going to touch it! She grabbed a pair of gloves and followed Jake over. He looked like he recovered from his... baby issues. Which was good. Anya was kind of worried about that reaction. Babies were totally fun. BABIES! She started to rub the calf happily. Now that it was here, she'd momentarily forgotten what was going to happen to it. She was just internally squeeing because DAWW! 'Twas a cuuuute baby. |
Marigold was happy happy happy because BABY COW! "Hiya cutie cowie. I have to go now. Byebye!" she whispered. Then she stood up and walked to the Professor and Groundskeeper. "Good interesting lesson Professor! And I would love to help take care of the baby!cow sometime Mr. Firth!" With a last glance between the two adults, and a wink to Mr. Firth, she was off. BABY!COW. |

But Truebee. Yeah. Good name. Cactus' Ravenclawing about miracles went ignored for the time being because Alice was so busy with breath stimulating and such. Lesson over, though? Already? She disposed of the gloves and waved goodbye to baby Truebee-cow before following the others back out to the castle. "Thanks for the lesson, Professor, Mr. Firth." Live births were definitely.. interesting. |
Beezus......only snorted at Mo. She approved much of Truebee but she didn't want to drag the conversation on, really. Branxtons were hard to argue with and she didn't want to indulge herself in a debate at that moment. There were more important events, such as moving in line to help rub the baby cow.....or put up a sad puppy face at her boyfriend. The latter came first. Dylan's NO had been pretty much emphasized and all Beezus did was give him a small pout and sad expression. Though she gave him an understanding nod and turned away when he headed out. She'd have to check up on him later.......or actually, now can do since Professor Barlow was announcing that it was time for their next class. She eyed her watch and blinked.....they've exceeded their schedule! Merlin....she hadn't realized it until now. So she went ahead and satisfied her eyes with the baby calf's sight first - it probably took ten minutes or so - with an almost stupid grin on her face before she removed her gloves and disposed of it. Can she stay....for a while more? ....Yeah? No? Okay....but she still wasn't happy that they were selling off the calf. It was a fruitful lesson....and she knew she was going to be back to see the baby girl later in the day yet for now, she had another class to attend and her Slytherin also needed to be tended to. So....with longing eyes, she regretfully bade goodbye to Bonny and her baby. "Goodbye, Professor Barlow......Mr. Firth. Thank you for today's lesson." |
Sarah continued on rubbing the newborn. Yet Mo's reply stopped the rubbing abruptly
" No, frankly. No to both of those girls, one of which was a Ravenclaw and knew better. Mo gave both Bee and Sarah a flat look before turning back to his turn at cow rubbing. "That's stupid, actually, and you should know better than to be so imprecise. If a miracle is by definition a highly improbable or extraordinary event, then you're wrong. So either I'm unclear on the word, which I'm not, or you're all using the word wrong. Which you are. It's easy to fix. Find a more precise word."
"well, the very fact that all our organs work is a miracle. It is just that we take it for granted. Childbirth is dangerous, as I said before, especially in the old days, not every birth was live. A lot of woman these days miscarry once in their lifetime. Imagine, the baby''s first breath, it is born with a heart that is pumping, hopefully there are no deformities.". In Sarah's world there was no chance, only miracles. If he was not a boy she would have gone further yet she stopped at that. Quote:

"thanks for the lesson!" she called over her shoulder as she walked off. Hopefully she was able to talk some sense into Mo, poor misguided fellow, counting her blessings kept Sarah happy |
glomp of a post Okay, she had collected as much hay as she could with her bare hands and dropped it onto the extra pile as indicated by Professor Barlow. Now my hands are itchy...Does that mean I'm allergic? She made a mental note not touch her eyes or anywhere else that would be awful to have driving her crazy with itchiness. And they would be....rubbing the calf? She wasn't sure she wanted to do that, so she just stood back as Bonny made a big MOOOOOOOOOOO or two as she huffed and puffed that baby outta there. She'd let the baby fan girls over there take care of the infant rubbing and cooing, so there was no need to put any gloves on. Instead, she stood to the side and gently petted Bonny, trying to keep her calm. When it was finally over and the baby had been rubbed and cleaned, she patted Bonny again and whispered to her, "Good job Momma Bonny! She's a great little cow!" Even if she didn't want to touch her just yet. There were too many people crowded around and she was still a little...well gross-ish. Later though, before Mr. Firth sold her...which by the way she was pretty sad about and was choosing not to dwell on at the moment because she didn't want to get even sadder...She'd pet the little girl calf when she was dry and fluffy. Still a little stunned by the drama of the birth, Eliza thanked the professors in a slightly distant voice. "Th-thanks for the lesson, professors. It was very...er, practical. I'm glad Bonny and the baby are okay." She smiled a small smile and waved to Bonny and the calf. And as stunned as she was, she was not too stunned to lose her appetite for a certain sweet treat. |
With the last student finally gone, Firth breathed a sigh of relief. That went pretty well. He had been nervous and trying not to show it, especially in front of Peyton. Pointing his wand at Satisfied that the cattle would be alright for now, he surveyed himself and decided to go back to his hut. It was definitely time to get clean himself. |
