CoMC Homework #1 (Center to Sell Ingredients)

http://i1235.photobucket.com/albums/...ps41c97c6a.jpg

It's about 9 A.M. on a Saturday morning, and Professor Barlow has led her students into Hogsmeade to attempt to sell the Ashwinder eggs collected during class. The center is no more than a large tent with wooden counters set up to display the jars of eggs.

All of the eggs are already at the center and accounted for, even the jars labeled by the students during class. There's also enough for each student to potentially sell four extra jars. Villagers are walking nearby, and most are eyeing the center and considering a purchase.

Could this just be your lucky day?!
Text Cut: Directions
It's time to make a real profit on the Ashwinder eggs you collected in class!

Directions
  1. Meet Professor Barlow outside the barn this Saturday morning at 9 A.M. sharp. (OOC: You don't actually have to RP doing this, and I won't actually have Barlow there to meet your character.)
  2. Together, we will walk into Hogsmeade and to the center I've set up for us to sell our eggs. (OOC: Again, we won't actually RP this.)
  3. At the center, you'll have the opportunity to sell FIVE jars of eggs. Professor Barlow has added in enough jars, so that everyone has the opportunity to sell five.
  4. You will receive house points for the number of jars you attempt to sell, but you can not sell more than five. You can make as many posts as you wish; however, you must make at least five to get credit. You can RP people either buying or not buying your eggs.
  5. When you are done, please PM me a link to all posts you made either selling or attempting to sell your jars of eggs.
  6. Be realistic. You are RPing a young student wishing to sell an ingredient to adults in the village. They won't be paying hefty amounts, and it's not realistic at all to RP them doing so. I don't want to squish your creativity, but I do want you to keep it realistic. Let's say you can't sell a jar for more than five galleons.
  7. Finally, no one will actually be RPing the adults considering a purchase. You can just RP your own character and the actions of the villager they're trying to sell to.

Most of all, HAVE FUN! Please ready my homework guidelines here, so you'll know exactly how I'd like you to submit this.

Also, I'm really sorry about how fast this will need to go, but you only have until this Friday, May 24, to get this done. Why? Because this is happening at Hogsmeade, and that's when Hogsmeade closes. I'm not sure exactly what time it'll close, so you may want to get this done as soon as possible. The deadline to submit your links via PM is Friday, May 24 at 11:59 PM EST.

Ahhhhhh, what better way to spend a Saturday than not locked up in her Common Room attempting homework? GRIIIIN. Lex was bouncing in her spot, just watching the people passing by, sooner or later someone would walk up to the counter and want to know the price, they'd want to walk away with one, or two...or you know what? Maybe they'd want three???

Just the thought had her bouncing more. The only thing that would make this better would be someone actually walking over.

She could fix that. "Ashwinder eggs! Get your Ashwinder eggs! Perfectly good for potions and whatever else you lot use them fooor!" Ahem. And now to wait. Not too long either because there was already a man walking up to her. She grinned widely as he did.

"Hello sir! Might I interest you in an Ashwinder egg?" BEAAAM.

"Ashwinder eggs? Sure little lady, how much are you selling them for?"

Such a nice man. Nod. "Only 10 galleons, I'll make it 9 if you buy two." That was reasonable enough. He would even be getting a discount!!! Weeeeell???? Lex kept her face as pleasant as possible while the man thought it over. Really, how long did something like this take to figure out?? BUY THEM--not it, THEM. 18 galleons was better than 10, duh!!!! There was candy in the shop with her name on it.

"Alright then." He finally said after a long moment. He didn't see the need for two but the girl was smiling so much, he would have felt bad leaving with one; none was out of the question. The man fished into his pockets and pulled out a small bag containing money. He dropped the 18 galleons on the counter area of the center and gave her a smile of his own as he waited for his purchase.

"Gee thanks Mister!!! You've just added another block to my self-confidence, you've done a great service today." BEAM. She pulled two eggs from the jar and handed them to him. "Come again--today though because we'll be leaving at the end of today, OH and tell your friends!!" She called after the retreating man. "Your rich ones, otherwise they might not buy anything!" Did he hear that last part? She meant it.

Mika had practically skipped all the way from the school to the market. When she finally got to the stand she was excited, and ready to sell all of the eggs in the area. Yeah she knew that this was going to be fun. She glanced around the center and waved to Lexa.

”Ashwinder Eggs freshly frozen and ready for potions for sale today” she called out and even twirled a sign that read Ashwinder Eggs for sale.

An old woman hobbled over. "Did you says eggs?" she croaked at the girl. "Are these edible" she practically yelled at the students. "Can we bake them like chicken eggs? These are chicken eggs right?" the old woman asked.

"No man, these are Ashwinder Eggs" Mika smiled at the old lady as she stared almost unblinkingly at her.

"I'll take one, one egg please" she smiled. And then asked, "How much for the eggs?"

"A jar is five galleons" she smiled at the woman who quickly handed over the money for the potion ingredients.

Saturday morning was NOT a time when Sonea wanted to follow a new lesson, she wanted to sleep in her bed until it was late and to do nothing more than relax, but the professor had a few other plants for the class! Sonea followed the professor with her schoolbag over her shoulder to the next location and she HOPED that she would win some points by doing this, so early in the morning!

But, she tried to do her best hand she knew that it was not a good idea to complain about it, all the students here were all just like Sonea here when they could have stayed inside their beds. The only good part was that she didn’t needed to work hard today, she only needed to sell the eggs, and she thought that that was not difficult at all!

This was something Jory didn't mind doing on a Saturday morning. At least he was out somewhere instead of just spending it in the Castle studying for NEWTs or catching up on homework.

Villagers were eyeing the jars and he noticed that some seemed to even be considering on buying. Time for action. "Come and get your Ashwinder Eggs! Freshly laid and frozen!''

A middle aged woman shuffled up to the Puffer, just as he finished making his announcement. "Hello, ma'am,'' he said with a grin. "Looking for fresh Ashwinder eggs?''

The woman gave him a motherly sort of smile. "Yes, young man.'' She examined the jars closely. "How much for a jar?'' she asked, looking back at him.

"Only five galleons, ma'am,'' Jory replied. Was this going to be his first sale? He certainly hoped so! He watched as the woman open her bag and retrieved some coins.

"I'll take one jar,'' the woman said, handing him the coins.

Jory quickly counted the coins before grabbing a jar and handing i to the woman. "Thanks so much,'' he said to her as she turned to leave, quite pleased to make a sale on his first attempt.

Kace rubbed his eyes. He was still trying to wake up since it was 9am after all. He was never much of a morning person. He did have breakfast to get a little energy for trying to sell his eggs. Once he got to the center, he noticed his fellow students trying to sell the eggs as well. He wondered how he could sell them. He had to think of tactics.

He got one jar out of his bag. Alright he needed to do this in his loud voice.

"COME ON DOWN! GET YOUR ASHWINDER EGGS RIGHT HERE! ON SALE FOR A LIMITED TIME ONLY. ONE JAR IS FOR 3 GALLEONS!" he said out loud until someone came over.

It seemed like a sophisticated young man. He came over to Kace and smiled at him and looked at his bag.

"You say 3 galleons?" he asked him nodding toward his bag of eggs.

"Yes sir." Kace nodded towards him. He looked so professional, Kace was intimidated by him. He tried to keep his cool and not blow off this deal.

"Well i am potioneer and i can not deny a bargain like this." he said and smiled and handed his the 3 galleons. Kace's eyes widened.

"Oh..wow..thanks sir!" was all Kace could muster as he took the galleons and put them into the pocket of his bag.

"No problem buddy. Keep up the sales." he winked at him and then left with his jar of Ashwinder eggs.

"THANKS SIR AND TELL YOUR FRIENDS." Kace smiled at him and he nodded to let him know he would tell them.

Kace smiled and was happy he made his first deal. Maybe his adorable first year charm was working....who knows?

The Dervish & Banges shopkeeper was strollin' down th' streets of Hogsmeade, up early as usual, when he came across a differen' sort o' sight fer his olde eyes. Chillren, out standin' by a booth, sellin' somethin' for some strange reason. Wasn't it the shopkeeps' job ter be sellin' stuff ter the kiddos, and not th' other way around? Merlin's great big bushy beard! The school really was broke!

He stepped up to the table full o' kiddos, one hand already rootin' around in his back pocket fer his wallet. "How much-" Saul cleared his gravelly throat, "how much fer th' Ashwinder eggs?"

Lex was still grinning from her previous sale when she saw someone else walk up to the stalls. She'd never seem him around before...maybe because she spent her Hogsmeade time in the candy shop but ah well, those were minor details that no one paid attention to.

She grinned up at him.

"Good day sir! I don't know about everyone else but I'm selling mine for 10 galleons--oh but I just had a customer, see, and I told him he could get them for 9 if he bought two!" It was a bargain!!! Er... was that what they called it??

Meh, the point was, she was selling stuff and this guy was buying. He WAS buying right? Don't tell her he was wasting her time because while he stood here he was keeping her from another potential sale.

"Would you be interested in the same deal or will you only be needing one?" Had to keep her expression pleasant. Yup.

Kurumi was seriously concerned for the well being of Hogwarts. The place had changed her life and hearing the unpleasant conditions made her feel very uneasy. Sending care packages to friends was one thing, but she wanted to physically BE at the school. She hated feeling helpless. Which is precisely why she had come to Hogsmeade today: to see if she could run into a professor or two (or even the Headmistress) and ask if there was anything she could do to help.

And then she saw a tent will some of her former classmates...selling....ashwinder eggs? Hmmm. Lewis could probably use some of those for his stock.

"Hey guys," she smiled as wide as she could muster while approaching the tables. "How much are you selling for?"

[ different timeline & for Penelope ^_^ cause Brigg said so ]

He wasn't exactly stalking his little ambassador of cuteness. Not really. He was concerned for her well being considering the conversation he had had with a certain my-hair-is-too-perfect-to-be-legal boy who had taken his little sparkle away from him and LIVING with her. Most fathers would be pleased that the boy had asked permission for such things, but not Charles.

Okay. Maybe a little. But he didn't want to think about that.

Seeing his little sugarplum approach a tent, Charles followed after and saw that Hogwarts students were selling things. Ashwinder eggs? He personally didn't have any use for them in his job, but maybe someone in the lab on level 7 could use them. Had to support his alma mater, right?

"I'll take one of those jars."

Eggs.

Ella was ready to sell some. Lots of them, in fact. She had her jars neatly lined up in front of her and on full display. She also had on a smile, a broad one at that. Smiling and approachable, that's what Ella was. Now she needed to spark some interest, yeah?

AHEM.

"Eggs! Ashwinder eggs for sale! Pefectly frozen, perfect for potions, and at prefectly reasonable prices!"

Yup. She was obviously an awesome saleswoman. And darn! Someone already snagged Kurumi! Frown. Ella wavedddddddd at the older girl anyway, giving her a smile. "Hi Kurumi!" Was Lewis here too? Would he buy her eggs? Hmmmm?

It was a Saturday. A Hogsmeade weekend at that they were going to sell Ashwinder eggs because Professor Barlow said that they could keep whatever profit they made. And really, she needed money. She had tons of things to save up for. Moreover, the turnstiles at the school were still standing and probably won't be gone for sometime soon. They required money.

So here she was. Acting all businesslike because she had a business to run.

Beezus ran a hand through her hair then cleared her throat. Time to get the party going....errr....business running.

"Ashwinder eggs! Ashwinder eggs! Come on and buy some. You can use them for potions or even crack them on your heads!"

That last part wasn't really appropriate but hey...this was business. Rhyming words often caught them ol' customer's attention.

Well, come on then people....

Cool, so, they had to sell these things. Penelope hadn't ever had to sell anything before, but she liked to think she could do it. She could be kinda persuasive when she wanted to be. Maybe. At least she thought so. So surely she could get someone to buy five jars of ashwinder eggs from her. Wasn't like any of the eggs were bad, after all, and they were apparently useful. Who wouldn't want one?

So she smiled pleasantly and looked around, waiting for a potential victim customer...

He seemed kinda familiar too somehow. Hmm. Well, anyway.

"Just one?" Not two? Three? Five? Ahem. "That'll just be three galleons." So cheap, right? Except that seemed like a pretty good amount to her, but, well, she wasn't an adult and didn't have a job where she constantly earned money. She just had to save whatever she got to spend on food and friends.

As Kace made his first deal and sold his ashwinder eggs for cheap, he noticed another buyer on the streets. He stepped up because he wanted to sell his jar.

"Hello sir, you can buy one jar of my ashwinder eggs for 5 galleons. I say it is a great price for the amount you get!" he said trying to make a sale.

He was trying to be a good salesman. If he didn't make the deal he would be fine with it. Not everyone was keen on buying eggs from a first year.

Jory filled his lungs with air again. "Fresh Ashwinder Eggs at reasonable prices!'' He had just shut up when he spotted a familiar someone. "Kurumi!'' he called out and waved. But then he wondered if she would remember him. "Probably not,'' he thought, even though they had partnered up in Divination once.

He didn't have time to dwell on it, however, when another woman came shuffling up to him. She was older and seemed to be in a bad mood. "Hi, there,'' Jory said with a smile. "Can I help you today?''

"You better, sonny,'' the woman replied, grabbing one of the jars. "You say these are fresh? Ha! They certainly don't look so.''

Jory stared at the woman. "She needs to get her eyes checked,'' he thought. Aloud, he said, "Yes, Ma'am. Laid and frozen just a few days ago. Five galleons per jar.''

The woman peered rather sternly at him. "Five galleons? Going overboard there, aren't you, sonny?'' she asked as he replaced the jar, then turned to leave.

"Er, no, ma'am,''
The Puffer replied. "I'll gladly give you a jar for four galleons, then.'' But the woman paid no attention as she retreated. "Can't win them all,'' he thought. He'd get the next customer.

Nerida smiled as she reached Hogsmeade ready to get selling though she wondered if her mother was really going to show...

”Ashwinder Eggs freshly frozen and ready for potions for sale today!!” she called out. Slightly wanting to add today only but she didn't.

An old couple slowly made their way over to her. "Did you say ash eggs?" the man spoke softly up at the girl. "Are these your snakes eggs?" the woman practically yelled at her.

"These are Ashwinder Eggs" Nerida said with a smile on her face. "Um only for a moment but then it had to...To finish its journey." It wasn't really her snake but oh well.

"Hmm.." the old man rubbed his chin before turning to his wife and asked "Do you want one my dear?" The old woman gave a grin and a smile towards the man. This time the man directed his question towards the girl, "How much for one?"

"A jar is five galleons, my special deal is two for eight galleons." she smiled at them.

Again the old man rubbed his chin before digging out his wallet and telling the girl he wanted two eggs. Though it was apparent on his face he had no clue why his wife wanted one, and the only reason he was getting two was to please his wife.

Nerida smiled and took the money and then handed the couple the two eggs and said "Thank you for your business, have a marvelous day!"

The man received the eggs and a hug from his wife, and gave a nod towards the young girl before taking his wife's hand and going on their way.

The Ravenclaw smiled as she saw the retreating figures of the couple.

Her first counter, her own sale and her own earning money. She was all excited. Since the time she'd seen teenagers putting up stalls at the country fair, she'd wanted to put up one. But her mother wouldn't allow that. Too dangerous, she'd said. With all the strangers and stuff. But here, in Hogsmeade..they were still strangers weren't they? Well, that defeated the purpose. Heh.

She put up a big notice near her counter.

SPOILER!!: Notice

Fresh and Good Quality
Ashwinder Eggs

1 jar costs 5 galleons

Come and collect before it hatches!

She could see a wave of people moving towards the direction. And some looked lazy to read the sign.

"Cheap and fresh Ashwinder eggs here"

"Yes, Mika...right?" Kurumi replied with a smile. The girl was a Ravenclaw if she recalled, which would partly explain why she was not too familiar with her besides seeing her face at lessons and around the Great Hall while she had still been a student. "5 galleons..." she repeated while rubbing the back of her neck anxiously. She knew Lewis needed them for his stock, but she was also pretty sure that he would give her the look if she spent that much on him. She was the same when it came to him getting her gifts. Not to mention neither of them were full time employed because of schooling. But then she said she was willing to make a deal and her eyes looked up a bit. "Oh? How much of a deal?"

She also didn't want to rob the school and its students.

Blink blink. 4 galleons?

HOLY CRICKET THAT WAS A LOUD VOICE.

Oh hey! Look who it was. "Hey Jory! How is seventh year?" Although he looked rather busy with his own customers and not really able to have a real conversation. Not that that was bad. They were here to sell things after all.

You are friends with my little ray of sunshine," he declared while pointing at the girl right between the eyes. "Make that THREE jars." And he even held up three fingers to make sure there was no misunderstanding.

And just for good measure he leaned over the table and HUG the girl. SUCH A LOVELY YOUNG LADY.

They get to see friends again who have either graduated or transferred from Hogwarts. Plus, they get to stroll around the all wizarding village without minding too much about schoolwork.

But too much about that....

She had a business to run and businesswomen shouldn't let their minds off what could give them reasonable profits. "Of course it is more affordable!" Sorry, Mika. This *was* business. ....She went over and grabbed her jar of Ashwinder eggs and lifted it up for Kurumi to see. "And...there are six eggs inside each jar too." Win win, right?

"How many jars would you like to buy?" Assuming Kurumi was buying from her, of course. And she was going to, right? RIIIGHT?

She was about to call out again when a burly looking man approached her counter. He was about thirty years and had a fierce looking scar running down his right cheek. Amara was visibly disturbed by that.

"Uhm...hello" she said meekly.

"Hello" He had a very deep voice. "Is that Ashwinder eggs you're selling?" he asked as he picked up a jar.

"Yes...ashwinder eggs" she said, as she pointed to the notice she'd put up. "Fresh and frozen" she added with a little smile.

The man eyed the notice and turned to her. "Five galleons, thats all?" he asked, surprised.

She nodded politely. Was five galleons less? She didn't know that anyway. She wanted something reasonable and something that would fill up her money purse. So.... "Would you like to buy one, sir?"

The man nodded. "Make it two.." he paused, "And I'll give to 12 galleons" Because the girl looked sweet. Heh.

Her eyes brightened. "Really? OH..thanks..that would really be useful to me" she said, as she smiled brightly at the man. She seemed to radiate happiness at that point. "Would you like to have some pumpkin juice?" she asked, as she put his two jars of ashwinder eggs into a packet.

The man nodded. She took a glass, poured pumpkin juice from her can and handed it to the man. As he drank, she passed him the his egg packet. "There's your two jars of ashwinder eggs" she said, taking back the juice cup.

He put the galleons in the box she'd laid out. "Thanks" he said, taking his eggs. "Good luck with you're business" And he walked away.

Her first collection. She looked excited as she drew the money box closer to her and begin to count the galleons.

Ten..eleven..twelve..thirteen..fourteen..FIFTEEN?

The man had left her fifteen galleons? She looked very surprised and pleased. She at the way he had gone, but the guy had just vanished. "Thanks" she muttered, even though he wasn't there.

“Okay, let’s start” said Sonea to Little princess who she had with her in her pocket and looked around her. She wanted to be done with this as soon as possible, she wanted to pick some flowers in the student garden when she was back at the castle, the common room from Slytherin needed some color now that everything was still not normal and a few flowers would bring some color to the common room!

“Ashwinder eggs!” I have Ashinder eggs!” Come here and buy you own egg!” Shouted Sonea while she looked at all the people who were standing around her in the streets.

“Miss, look at those wonderful egg, I’m sure that you want to buy it” smiled Sonea and tried to look cute, hoping that charming the women would work. Sonea was happy that she wore her pink hair
Ribbon, and that she now really looked cute. Sonea was convinced that everybody would buy her eggs, only because she was a young little girl with a friendly smile!

And.. It worked!
The women bought her egg for 3 galleons! Sonea gave the jar to the women, still smiling cute, but when the woman was gone, she laughed satisfied!

Next one up was an old hag, carrying a heavy looking bag. She looked very fragile and weak. Amara was afraid she might fall with the next breeze. The woman walked slowly towards her counter. So she was here to buy ashy eggs? What would she do with it?

Amara got up and went to the lady in a swift. "Hello madam" she called, getting her attention. "Shall I carry you're bag?" she offered the old woman.

The woman looked up as the little girl came running to her. Carry her bag? "Oh..oh-yes, deary" she said, handing her bag to the little girl. The girl staggered at the weight.

"Gosh..that's too heavy" said Amara as she tried to steady herself. "How did you even carry it?" They moved slowly towards her counter. "Would you like to buy some ashwinder eggs?" she asked, prompting the woman. She placed the bag next to the woman and moved inside her counter.

"OH..these are...oh" she eyed the sign. "Ashwinder eggs?" The woman looked visibly upset. "I was looking for dragon eggs"

Amara's eyes widened. Dragon eggs? The old hag wanted dragon eggs? "Uhm...we don't sell dragon eggs" she said, eying the woman. "You see, they don't breed dragons at school" Well, I don't know about ashwinders. Heh. "But you could buy these ashwinder eggs" She pointed to the jars. "Fresh and frozen..ready for potions or any other purpose" she added. Just buy them.

"No...no..deary" the woman said, sniffing her nose. "I need dragon eggs....dragon" The woman looked at her. "Do you know where I can get dragon eggs?"

Amara blinked. Where to get them? Like she knew that. "Uh...I really don't know about that..." she trailed. She only knew dragons existed and that a lot of them were in Romania. "Maybe..you could get one in Romania" Yeah, go there and say hi to the dragons for me.

"OW...I didn't think of that" The woman slapped herself and muttered something fast as the girl blinked at her. "Thank you..you bundle of cuteness" and the woman turned to leave, grabbing her bag. "Romania..Romania..here I come"

Weird. Amara blinked after where the woman had left. Dragons? What was she gonna do with them? Pet them? Find the uses of dragon blood? They already found them. Okay maybe uses of dragon bones? Bizarre people.

Beezus had complimented her appearance, but she didn't feel any different. She hadn't really done anything different either. She WAS debating cutting her hair, but Lewis was protesting the idea quite a bit.

"I just one the one jar..." she said as she fidgeted with her fingers a bit.

So they're going to sell the ashwinder eggs and make profit for it. Cool. Sort of. Juliet and selling stuff doesn't really match in any other way. She'd be lucky if someone would buy at least 1 jar.... 2 maximum. She'll try her very best and hopefully the odds will be in her favor.

Waking up early and meeting up with her professor like the rest of the students, Juliet walked to Hogsmeade for the selling of the eggs. Yes, this should be really fun. What? She's just being optimistic that's all. Upon arriving, she quickly placed her five jars into place just so the customers could see it. After fixing her scarf, she called out to a few random old people she can see on the street. "Get your Ashwinder eggs. Fresh and frozen" she shouted out. "Limited offer! ONLY 5 GALLEONS..... or less if you want to." she added. HAHA. Lucky for her a woman approached her. A really old woman.

"Hello little girl. I'd love one of those" she gave her a smile. It was about time, she bought those. Help these Hogwarts kids and herself. It's a win-win situation.

"Most certainly" Juliet felt soooo happy right now. "5 galleons please" Juliet had to act sweet because she has to sell these things. She doesn't know if it is really working but it starting to..... for this woman at least. When the woman gave her the galleons, Juliet gave her the jar. "Thank you" and so did the woman repeated as well.

Uh huh. It was wonderful to see Kurumi and it had just double when the older girl had said that she needed one jar. Of course she was referring to Beezus' jar, right? Since it was more affordable?

The Sixth year smirked a bit and wasted no time as she quickly packed the jar of six Ashwinder eggs into a paper bag. She even had paper bags, what do you know? She had secured those beforehand because she wanted everything to be all business-y. She was even ready to go a receipt if her customers asked for one. Hehe. "Here you go, Kurumi." Beezus handed the paper bag to the former Gryffindor. "That will be four galleons." But if she wanted to add another galleon because she was impressed with Beezus' convincing powers, then she was more than welcome to do so.

Any more customers out there? The Castell still had more jars to sell.

So the thing was with everyone selling eggs, West figured he needed to be smart about it. He expected Dylan and Theo to maybe join him later but he said he'd set up so here he was.

... which was where? In a large tent with most everything set up as needed. And students yelling and trying to sell the eggs. West had decided a different approach was needed. For starters : research. West had checked and knew that a single Ashwinder egg cost 1 galleon at Slug and Jiggers, so a jar with at least five Ashwinder eggs in it was reasonable at 5 galleons a pop.

He spread out a green tablecloth over top of the work area he'd been assigned and arranged the jars of eggs on top. Just to be different and catch the eye mind you. After that West covered every single jar with a black cloth.

Finally he sat back and put his sunglasses on and waited.

How mysterious.

Nigel did not have the personality to sell anything. He was okay with numbers and knew that a jar of ashwinder eggs would sell at 5 galleons. But Nigel did not really need the money. So he would sell a jar for 3 galleons.

Nigel went into a the tent and picked an empty counter. He then put his five jars of eggs down. He now had his stand step up. The only thing left to do was wait. He was not going to yell and advertise. That was just not something Nigel did. After a while an older man stood in front of him and his counter. "Can I help You?"

"Well. For starters. You can tell me the price for a jar of your ashwinder eggs" The older man replied. This kid was no salesman. But he did have some good looking eggs.

Nigel knew he had a little attitude and smirked when his guy returned it."It's 3 galleons, Sir"

"Prefect I would like to buy one then" The older man thought this was a really good deal and should not pass it up. Though he had no need for ashwinder eggs anytime soon

"Thank You Sir." Nigel replied as the man handed Nigel the 3 galleon. Nigel watched him walk away. Nigel was a little happy. He was 3 galleon richer than he was a couple minutes ago.

Oh hey! Look who it was. "Hey Jory! How is seventh year?" Although he looked rather busy with his own customers and not really able to have a real conversation. Not that that was bad. They were here to sell things after all.

Just as the old woman shuffled off, Jory caught sight of Kurumi once again. He grinned. "It's great! Busy as ever with all the classes, homework and studying but it's still fun.'' As if he needed to confirm that because Kurumi could see that right now. "How are you? And Lewis?'' Because Jory had not forgotten about those two lovebirds.

The badger turned his attention back to his jars as another customer came up. A man this time. And to his relief Jory saw he was smiling. "At least this one is in a good mood,'' he thought. He did not like grumpy people. Aloud he said, "Hello, Sir! Can I interest you in some fresh Ashwinder eggs?'' He waited hopefully for the man to say yes.

"Of course you can, young man,'' he replied. "My wife needs some for her potion brewing. I need two jars, please.'' The man proceeded to select two jars.

Jory was surprised. The man hadn't even asked the price. "I'll give him a discount,'' the boy thought. Usually, customers came back when they received a discount. "They would cost 10 galleons but since you are taking two, I'll give you for 9 galleons and 10 sickles.'' It seemed reasonable.

The man nodded and counted out the coins. "Here you go.''

"Thank you!'' Three jars down. Would he be able to sell all five?

"Fresh Ashwinder eggs here, come and buy"

"Goo' Lord! You've gotcha booming voice!" exclaimed the fair man as he walked towards her counter. He had a very unusual accent and unusually bright grey eyes.

"Oh sorry, didn't mean to..." she trailed. Well it was part of the business, wasn't it? "Would like to buy some ashwinder eggs?" Yes, only ashwinder eggs, no dragon eggs mind you.

"F'corse.. zat's what you've bin shootin'" he said, with a grin. "Aw much eez ay jar, fair lady?" he asked, as he took a look at the jars.

"Five galleons a jar, no less and no more" she said, returning his grin.

"Five gaale-ons" he repeated, as he took his money bag. EYE. EYE. ASSESS THE CONTENTS. "Zer, you're gaale-ons" he said, placing them on the counter.

"Thank you" she exclaimed, taking the galleons. "And here is you're jar for the zee gaaale-ons" she said, trying to imitate him. Fair stuff, it sounded too close. CHUCKLE. She waved after the guy as she flashed her a smile, picked his jar and left.

DaniDiNardo 05-21-2013 03:04 PM

While she waited on that man to make up his mind she turned to someone else who'd walked up to her. "Hello! Can I interest you in some Ashwinder eggs?" The smile remained on her face as she watched the woman. For now all she was doing was staring. Yeah, stare on your own time lady. Between her and the man, Lex was getting nowhere. Then finally, she spoke.

"How much would I be paying for one?"

Here were go, now they were getting somewhere. "10 galleons each." She'd asked the Professor and that was the price estimated by the woman so she wouldn't question it in anyway. Nope! She'd just sit back and have people either buy it or not. It didn't matter if anyone else bought because she just earned 18 in one go. But still. Buy one lady. "I could let you have 2 for 8 galleons though." Sure she'd made the other guy pay 9 but then she thought about it...and the math involved...and this seemed...easier to calculate and figure out.

The woman gave her a skeptical look. "10 galleons for only one?" And now her eyebrow was raised. What kind of operation are you running here?"

Hm?

Lex blinked up at the woman before settling into her most innocent expression. ]b]"A good operation for a good cause. I'm sure you've heard what's happened to the school, it's awful up there now, this will help make things better if only a little,"[/b] she wasn't about to tell her that they kept all the galleons, NOPE, "you see this is what they're resorting to and if we don't sell these, they might lock us in the dungeons without dinner." She threw in some wibbling too. "it's dark and scary down there."

"You poor thing, I'll take two." She'd heard things about that castle but she didn't think they would have gotten so bad. These poor children. There must have been something else she could do other than report the staff to the authorities

"Thank you ma'am, your support is greatly appreciated." Lex said, trying to maintain the same composure as she fished another two from the jar. She waited for the money to be put on the counter then she handed them to her. "Oh and I'd ask that you not mention the horrid punishment while you help to spread the word. If they find out I told you..." She paused juuuust a bit for dramatic effect, "I don't even want to think about it."

"Oh yes, yes of course, things will get better dear." The woman gave her a sympathetic look and a small smile before walking off. Poor poor children.

Pfffffffffffffffffft. Sucker.

Saw the Ashy coming out....and woo ha ha
Now all the eggs are mine, yes I'm evil alright
Two more to go. Two more to go.
Then I get to go. Then I get to go.
Have fun in candy shop...oh hey hey, you don't get to stop MEEE!
"

When she opened her eyes, she saw a horrified looking woman staring at her. She should because the little girl was standing on her chair by the counter, arms raised in the air, eyes closed singing like a maniac.

She got down in a second. ADJUST HAIR. GRIN. GRIN. "Uhm, how may I assist you?" The woman merely pointed at notice and the egg jar. "OH, you need ashwinder eggs?" Ofcourse she did. That's what the counter was for.

"How much?" the woman asked curtly, still visibly dazed, as she picked her money purse.

"Eight galleons" she said, for staring at me, as she pushed a jar towards the disturbed woman. The lady just placed the galleons, snatched the jar and moved as fast as she could, away from the counter and her.

Ha! She had done it, one egg was now gone and she needed to sell 4 more eggs if she wanted to do it good! Sonea took a handkerchief out of her pocket and tried to made the 4 jars more shiny and good looking! When she was done she took one jar in her hand and ran toward a elderly man.

"Sir, will you buy this Ashwinder egg from me? This is a school project and i want to do it good!" Sonea blinked a few times with her eyes when she smiled at the man. "Will you help me and buy this egg from me? You can have it for only 5 galleons, normally they are more expensive but because i hope that you will buy it from me i will sell it cheap" lied Sonea to the man.

Sir: "Oh, are you studying at Hogwarts! Of course i want to help a nice young lady like you!"

"Thank you sir!" said Sonea with a squeaking voice and when the man had paid her the money she gave him the jar with the egg and watched with a big grin how the man walked away with the egg.

DaniDiNardo 05-21-2013 03:43 PM

So even after dealing with another customer he still wasn't ready to make up his mind. Fine. She could go on selling.

"Aswhinder eggs! Get your ashwinder eggs!"

She shouted that just about every time someone else walked by until finally a man, holding his nose a bit too high walked up to the stall. Ah merlin, she didn't think the sob story would work with this one. "How may I help you sir?" Buy something, yeah?

"I think that'd be obvious. You're selling so what business would I have over here other than to buy? Common sense really."

Lex scowled up at the man. "That's not what I meant." But anyway. "Are you interested in buying or are you just looking because that's gonna cost you two galleons." Rude people like him had to pay more for wasting her time. This would either prompt him to buy something, or leeeave. Her face remained neutral as she waited for his response.

The man rolled his eyes. "Are you going to tell me the price or will I have to pay for that too?"

And now she was just plain unamused. "10 galleons, take it or leave."

"With an attitude like that I think I'll leave it." Insolent child. He didn't have to walk over to her, there were plenty of other children selling and not all for 10 galleons from what he was hearing.

"Great, leave, you're blocking people who actually want to buy something." Ruuuuuude. Just very rude. She watched the man shoot her a derisive look before turning and walking off. Yeah. She didn't care. Could you tell?

Just one more. Someone come and get it!

She sat down on her chair, poured her some pumpkin juice. HUM. HUM. The juice tasted sooo good to her. After all the things from Hogwarts, it should really.

"Do you have ashwinder eggs?" she heard a very sweet voice asking. The woman looked young and she had a big baby bump. She was eying the lone jar of eggs standing on the counter.

"OH yes..the very last one" she said, with a smile. She pushed a chair towards the woman. "Please sit down" Add another smile there. She poured another glass of pumpkin juice. OH, I'm running out. She offered it to the woman. "Would you like some juice as well?" Ofcourse, everyone would, they were delicious.

The woman looked pleasantly surprised and she sat down on the chair. When the little girl offered her juice, she smiled widely. "Aw thank you dear" she said, accepting the glass. She took a sip from it. "Mhmm..tastes good" And she sipped some more. "How much for the egss, dear girl?"

"Thanks" And I did nothing to make it tasty. But she returned the smile nevertheless, just because the woman looked very friendly. "That would cost five galleons a jar" she said, as she pushed the jar towards her.

"Fair price.." the woman said, as she placed the empty cup and took the jar. She took out her wallet and scrambled with the galleons "Here you go little girl..seven galleons for you're sweetness" the woman said, cheerfully as she placed the galleons on the counter. "And for the tasty pumpkin juice..." She added another galleon to the little pile.

"OH thank you so much" she exclaimed as she took the galleons and handed the woman her jar. She waved her a cheery good-bye as the woman left.

All jars sold. Amara beamed with happiness. Her money bag was now jingling with so many galleons. She cleared the counter, packed her bag and took off her big notice. The work was done. Turnout was good and she was really happy about it. HONEYDUKES! HERE I COME!

Laura wasn't really sure if she could do this, she was a bit nervous about this and now she was going to try and sort things out, she just hoped that she could do the best that she could.

"Ashwinder Eggs!!" Laura shouted down the street but it seemed no one was listening to her, she would try and sort things out in a bit. "ASHWINDER EGGS, COME GET YOUR ASHWINDER EGGS!!!" Laura shouted down the street again but once again she got ignored, she was surely going to have to do something to try and sell some.

DaniDiNardo 05-21-2013 05:14 PM

"Here you go, thanks for stopping by." She just gotten through selling another Ashwinder egg, just one, the person didn't seem all that impressed by the deal, didn't matter though because that was one whole jar sold! WOOT!! She beamed down at her 44 galleons she'd earned fair and square...almost. Technically, if you're dull enough to be suckered, you deserved it.

Sorry.

Okay...only slightly sorry.

Lex turned her attention to someone else that had walked up to the stall. Ummm..."Aren't you a bit too young to be walking through Hogsmeade alone?" The kid looked 7...maybe 8. Definitely not old enough to be able to afford an egg.

"I'm here with my Mummy." The little girl looked to the new jar the girl put on the table. "What are those?"

"These? Ashwinder eggs. They're super cool, you want one?" BEAM.

"I do!!" The little girl was now bouncing. "Can I have one, What do they do??"

Er..."Sure you can, if you can pay 10 galleons! And um...they do anything you want really! Super fun these little things." Nodnodnod.

"But I don't have that many..." She paused, her eyebrows knitting in concentration before she finally ran off and came back a few minutes later pulling on a woman she kept calling mummy. "This Mummy, this is what I want, can I have it? Pleeease?" When asked if she was sure the little girl nodded vigorously. "10 Galleons Mummy, please!"

Lex saw the look on the woman's face and quickly spoke up. "It's a Hogwarts initiative ma'am," because she wasn't going to tell her that only the students benefited from this either, "I suspect she'll be headed there one day, right?" And her face was perfectly pleasant. It remained that way too because slowly the woman reached into her bag and put ten galleons on the counter. "Here you go." She said, smiling down at the little girl and handing her the egg. "And thank you Ma'am."

She added the 10 to her existing pile then slinked them all into her small bag. Business was good today. Smirk.

Haruka arranged her Ashwinder eggs so that people who walked by could see them. After making sure that they were all in line, Haruka put on the sweetest smile she could muster. "Freshly frozen Ashwinder eggs! Come and get some Ashwinder eggs!" She stepped in front of her stand to get closer to the people and continued. "Frozen by Hogwart's Care of Magical Creatures class, these eggs are as fresh as they come!" She grabbed a jar and continued. "You can't lose when you buy a jar! You get a quality ingredient for a low price, you're helping the school we all know and love, and you get to go home with the knowledge that you've raised a child's self esteem by helping them with their homework, thus helping them succeed in life!"

An elderly woman who'd stopped a while ago to listen walked up to Haruka. "A very convincing speech, young lady." She pulled out her wallet. "Tug at the heartstrings of the masses. Clever. How much for a jar?"

Haruka smiled at the woman shyly, respecting how quickly she'd caught on. "Just 5 galleons, Ma'am," she replied. The woman nodded her head and handed Haruka the money. Haruka passed her a jar. "Thank you, Ma'am!" She yelled to the woman as she walked off.

A Hogsmeade weekend was exactly what Calista needed after the week she'd had. The lesson on tea leaf reading had gone well but the plastic cups and Merlin awful tea had given her and most likely her students enough headaches to last the rest of the week.

The blonde Divination Professor had walked through the slight chill the day held on her way down form the Castle and was just turning onto the High Street of the village when she saw a bunch of students...selling things to strangers.

What on earth? She walked over to them, not seeing the new Care of Magical Creatures Professor with them as a chaperon, and spoke to the nearest group.

"What are you all selling?" She tried to look around for the merchandise before jumping to conclusions.

"Professor I don't have a licence to sell anything, I didn't think I would need one since this was eh." Laura blushed, how was she going to get out of this mess. "Professor, Please don't call the police, I don't want to be sent to Azkaban." Laura had heard really bad things about that place. "I got told to sell Ashwinder eggs and that is what I'm doing Professor, surely nothing wrong with that." Laura looked at the Professor, she wouldn't sent her to Azkaban for doing homework would she.

Okay time to sell these jars! Troy was pretty excited...a little too excited, if I may add. He put on a name tag with his name on it, just so the people passing by would know and most likely remember his name. He also made a sign "For Sale, Ashwinder Eggs" for people to know what exactly his purpose here today was.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls! Step right up to Troy's stand of quality sized, Ashwinder eggs! Step right up, don't be shy!" Troy beamed as he noticed he was getting some reactions from different people walking by.

"Hello ma'am, I'm Troy Hawthorne." He tapped his name tag, while introducing himself to a witch that had approached him. "I'll be your seller today, and if I may add you look lovely." Troy was a little charmer and was using that to his advantage. "These aren't just your ordinary Ashwinder eggs. Oh, no, no, no." Troy shook his head "These are the BEST eggs you're ever going to purchase, for the decent charge of 6 galleons. But since you are my first customer, I'll give it to you for 5 galleons." he put up five fingers. 5 galleons was the actual price, he was just using some good ol' selling/bribing skills on this witch. Troy smiled big, so it could look even more convincing.

"5 galleons, huh?" The adult witch grinned "And these are good quality guaranteed?" she asked.

Troy felt as if he was being tested!

"Troy Hawthorne, gives you his word." Troy nodded and smiled.

"Alright then, I'll take one." The Witched responded positively to Troy's smile and gave him 5 galleons for her purchase of one egg.

"Thank you, Ma'am. Have a nice day!" Troy grinned.

Cha-ching! His first sell!

She had only just put the galleons away when she saw Professor Elwood walk up them. The woman looked a bit confused if she thought about it and surprize surprize Laura was making things difficult instead of doing what they were meant to be doing; conning people out of their galleons selling.

"Hello Professor!" She would answer the woman's question since the Puffer was failing to do so. "We're selling the Ashwinder eggs we harvested in CoMC class, along with some others that the Professor had. Can I interest you in buying one as well? I can give you a special Professor's discount for being so lovely."

And of course there was a sweet smile.

Laura may not have wanted to make money but seeing as they kept all the profits she wasn't about to make someone think she was a potential criminal running a shifty business. Nah. That's how people stayed poor and the castle was already poor so she'd like to start making more money, thanks.

"It'd be really nice if you bought something. There was a horrid man here earlier, he was really rude then left without buying anything and that's just de-motivating."

Nodnodnod.

"Ashwinder eggs! Ashwinder eggs for sale!"

Business was certainly slow but Ella didn't lose hope. She also was still wearing a smile because she got to be in Hogsmeade...as part of a homework assignment. Grin. How cool was that? It was also cool that she'd get to keep whatever she earned so she really wanted to lure some customers over to her.

The blonde was prepared to use the puppy-dog eyes if necessary, okay? They always worked on Alec so why not?

Just then, an older looking man approached where she stood and the blonde observed him curiously. His attention was on the jars she had in front of her so Ella was able to take him in. The dude wore a long dark coat and a extremely interesting top hat. He was like some evil character out of a movie with his outfit and curiously long mustache. The blonde immediately wanted him to buy eggs from her. It'd be her challenge and yes, it was accepted. "Hello there, Sir. Interested in buying some eggs today?" BEAM.

"How much for a jar?" The man grunted, his voice hoarse and his eyebrows raised. He wasn't particularly fond of small talk or the way the young blonde was smiling at him. The man disliked children, especially smiley ones.

Uhhh...unfriendly dude was unfriendly. Ella's smile faded as she watched his body language, guessing he wasn't in the mood for her little cheerful speech on how much his purchase would benefit the students of Hogwarts and how much she'd appreciate his business. Instead she said, "Five galleons for a jar, Sir." And she avoided eye contact with him, pretending to be busy arranging the jars in front of her.

Five galleons was a fair price. The man had expected the child to try and rip him off but really, she was being quite level-headed about pricing her merchandise. He considered it for a moment or two before grumbling. "I'll take a jar." And he shoved the money out towards her. She should take it now before he changed his mind.

He was going to buy a jar! REALLY?! Ella tried really hard not to look too excited and casually picked up a jar, handing it over to him. She then gingerly took his money and chanced a glance at him. "Thank you for your bu-"

...But he was gone.

Laura was waiting for the Professor to speak when suddenly a guy came upto her,

"Hello young lady, can I ask what you are selling?"

Laura looked at the Professor and then the man, she had to sell even if the Professor told her she was braking the law, it was part of her homework. "Well I'm selling Ashwinder Eggs, 3 Galleons per Jar." Laura gave the guy her sweetest smile, hoping that he would either buy or go away because she wanted to speak to the Professor, even if Alexa was just trying to get the Professor to buy her product.

"3 galleons you say, that sounds like a fair deal." He smiled a the girl and handed her 3 galleons over.

Laura smiled back at the guy and handed him a jar of the Ashwinder eggs over, it wasn't as bad as she thought it would be, she watched as the guy walked off with the eggs. "That Professor is what I'm doing and for you Professor you can have a Jar for 1 Galleon, 11 sickles and 20 knuts." Laura hoped that the Professor would buy from her and not Alexa.

And then her attention was drawn elsewhere. "Ella! Hey!" she smiled while offering the girl a wave. How much was Ella selling her's for?

Oh! There was more waving going on! Turning her head to see who the waving belong to. "Beezus, hey," she smiled, not exactly returning the wave with the same enthusiasm, but return it nonetheless. "I always have Saturdays off, so I thought I would stop by Hogsmeade since Nessie told me it was a Hogsmeade weekend for you guys."

Blink blink. 4 galleons?

She glanced back over at Mika. "That is...a little more affordable I suppose..."

HOLY CRICKET THAT WAS A LOUD VOICE.

Oh hey! Look who it was. "Hey Jory! How is seventh year?" Although he looked rather busy with his own customers and not really able to have a real conversation. Not that that was bad. They were here to sell things after all.

Charles' grin widened when a young witch came to assist him. Hmmm....there was something familiar about her. Tapping his finger against his chin. "AHA! Penelope Greenwell! Gryffindor!

Mika smiled as Kurumi got her name right. That was awesome. She smiled brightly when Kurumi asked about the deal, "Well lets see, three galleons for a jar or lets haggle it out? How much are you willing to spend?" She asked kindly. "After all it does go to a good cause - and" she leaned in and whispered "maybe we won't need to pay to enter the common rooms anymore?" She offered with a shrug.

She was just letting her know things had gotten bad. "But still because you are the raining cooking baking champion in the history of Hogwarts I'd say maybe five galleons and you get two jars?" She offered with a bright smile. It was kurumi after all.

"Ashwinder eggs! Freshly frozen Ashwinder eggs!" Haruka was on the edge of the street, holding the jar up for people to see as they walked by. "Buy some eggs and help out the school!"

A man stopped and walked over to Haruka. "Help the school?" He repeated. "What's wrong with the school?"

Haruka smiled softly at the man and explained. "Well, it seems that Hogwarts has fallen onto hard times recently. Bit of a financial slump." She took a step closer to the man. "The money make here will end up going back to the school, you see." Haruka forgot to mention that the money would get back to the school by way of the tolls, but this guy didn't need to know that. "So what do you say, sir? Only 5 galleons for a jar?"

The man didn't even seem to hesitate in pulling out his wallet. "Take 6. I'll help out in any way I can." He handed Haruka the money and took the jar.

Haruka smiled brightly at the man's donation and nodded. "Thank you very much, sir. It's appreciated."

Woah, woah, woah, WOAH.

Callie's head snapped back as the closest Puff, the Hyde girl began to freak out and think that she would be sent to Azkaban for selling the items a Professor told her to do. A former swindler con business-woman herself, Elwood was not one to rat them out anyways. "Miss Hyde, first things first, as a Professor I don't have the authority to send you to prison and secondly you aren't helping your case if you were doing something illegal and I could." The blonde looked for the eggs that were mentioned but didn't see any.

Before she could ask to see them, because they sounded interesting, Alexa Cambridge joined them and told her the real story. "Ahhh, okay. That's nice. I thought you all might have been...........up to something." She paused and then shook her head though, they had not.

"Lovely?" Callie grinned at the Gryffindor. It was obviously a ploy to get her to buy the eggs but it was a GOOD ONE! "That was just plain mean of him wasn't it Alexa?" The man really shouldn't have been rude to them, they were just kids. "What Professor is helping you all out today?" she the woman asked absentmindedly as she rummaged in her purse for some money.

How much were the eggs? "How much dears? I can buy one from each of you." She could use them for experimental Ovamancy or something.

"Up to something? Not this time, no." Again, if people were dull enough to be suckered then they deserved it and she wouldn't be sorry. "Just running an honest business!' BEAM.

For now she would ignore Laura. The girl obviously had no business sense. None if she was running a potential customer with things that weren't even true.

Oooohhh and she got the woman smiling. Good sign, this one. "Quite lovely." She said with a firm and enthusiastic nod. "And it really was. I think he was only here to make fun of us or something but it doesn't matter I guess, he was one of many." Many, much nicer, people who actually bought things!! GRIN. "We're here with Professor Barlow, the new CoMC Professor." Gfjfvkgfbfgbfl. The Professor was buying as well!!! GRIIIIIIN.

Lex heard Laura's price for the Professor; 1 Galleon, 11 sickles and 20 knuts. Pffffft. That wouldn't get her much candy now would it? "Only 5 galleons, since it's you and you've been such an intriguing Divination Professor. It's a bargain really, I've been selling mine for 10." Half price, seeeeeeee, bargain, a rather painful one at that.

Alistaire Firth strode up High Street, though his stride was inhibited by being bent over against the fierce wind that occasionally gusted and threatened to blow off his scarf. A small gathering caught his eye. Oh, this must be what Peyton set up! Feeling sufficiently warm after the firewhiskey at the Three Broomsticks, he meandered over. Yes, he would be testing these students to see if they knew their stuff.

CoMC HW1 - Post 1

Eliza was really excited about this Hogsmeade trip. She'd even drawn up a little sign to hopefully help her sell her Ashwinder eggs. Since there were a lot of students in the class and only so many shoppers...it only made sense to draw attention to herself. She wanted to earn some money for school and maybe, if she made enough, she could start saving for a kneazle!

Now for the hard part. Speaking loudly and trying to get people to pay attention to you. Here goes nothing, she thought.

"Ashwinder Eeeggggs! Come and get them!" She looked around the rows of tables, hoping to be noticed. "Just hatched the other day! Great for potions!"

A tall, thin man slowly approached the tables, perusing the students' wares. His hands in his pockets, he did not seem to be ready to buy anything.

Maybe with some coaxing, he might? she thought and put on a big smile. "Hello sir! Would you like to buy some Ashwinder Eggs? They're really great for potions and curing ague. Not that you look ill, but you can never be too safe, right?" She grinned and held a jar up for him to inspect.

He chuckled at her poor salesmanship. Feeling sorry for her, he took the jar and looked at the eggs. "These look very fresh indeed." He turned the jar over in his slender hands. Surely he could find a use for these eggs eventually. They were frozen after all, or immobilized rather. "How much are they, Miss?" he asked kindly.

He was starting to look interested. Maybe he'll really buy some!! She watched him look at the jar, the eggs tumbling on top of each other inside. "Oh! How much? Well, sir, how does..." She was going to quote him the full five, but he was so nice, she decided to lower it. "Four galleons?"

The man turned them over once more and raised them with a shake, to show he'd take them. The girl's price wasn't too high, and he could spare a few coins today. "That sounds perfect, Miss. Thank you very much." He counted out the coins and sat them on her table. "You take care now," he said in parting, smiled at her, and went on is way.

Her first sale. I did it! Someone really bought these things! Awesome! She smiled brightly back at him and waited to scoop up the money until he had passed along. "Thank you very much!" she said to him as he turned to leave.

Oh! And here was Mr. Firth! The sixteen year old smiled and turned her attention to him.

Aw, wasn't she just precious! So surprised by his gesture of kindness. Why, he was sure that his little sparkling apple pie had given the girl countless hugs. He was simply keeping the Hollingberry tradition alive since clearly his little sunspot was not here now.

"Yes. My little ray of suuuuuuuuunshine," he said while giving her a little squeeze and then letting the young lady go. "She told me that you were one of her favorite people to give cookies to." Which was really saying something considering just how many cookies the child gave out. "AND OH! BEFORE I FORGET! BLESS YOUR LOVELY SOUL FOR GIVING HER COOKIES! BLESS YOU CHILD!"

And another hug was given. A bigger one too. Possibly picked her up just a tad.

"9 it is," he chimed as he handed over the appropriate amount of coins.

Kurumi began to squirm uncomfortably just a bit. She didn't want to disappoint either of the two, but she only had so many galleons she could spend. Thankfully Jory took her attention away for a bit. "Glad to see you are doing well," she giggled. Almost too well. Had he always been this happy? And then her features were overcome with a rosy hue. "We are good," she managed to squeak out. "Lewis has classes today so he couldn't make it, but he told me to say hello to everyone." So hello, Jory. From Lewis.

And now she was back to her dilemma. Mika WAS offering her a great deal, but the issue wasn't how many eggs, it was the galleons. Yes, she WAS getting more eggs for her money...but...and then Beezus was offering her and practically already selling her eggs for 40 galleons.

She hated confrontation. SO much.

"Mika, I appreciate it, I really do....but I can't let you sell me two jars for that price...." Especially considering what they usually went for. It was sort of counterproductive in her mind in terms of profits. "....sorry....."

And since Beezus had practically gift wrapped her jar, Kurumi handed over the 4 galleons somewhat timidly.

DaniDiNardo 05-22-2013 01:26 AM

While talking to the Professor she noticed a creepy man approach and start staring intently at the jars. From the corner of her eyes she was watching this creeper. Yeah, creeper, because he was wearing a long black cloak and a hood over his head. Don't tell her she was the only one giving him weird eyes

The eyes turned to her giving him her full attention when he picked up a jar she hadn't opened for sale as yet.

"Can I help you sir?"

He gave the little girl a long stare before returning his gaze to the jar. Ashwinder eggs...he'd been looking for these...needed some too. "Yes, I'll take the whole jar please."

Whaaaaaa? NO. Absolutely not. A jar could only be sold for 5 galleons, she got waaaay more selling them individually. Besides, creeper people made it harder for her to want to sell them anything. She gave him a suspicious look over. "Why? It's a lot you know." Why six? Hm? Hm? Hmmm?

"What does that matter?" He continued in a scratchy voice. "Name your price and I'll pay it."

"Yeah but see, that's the problem. It's only 5 galleons, I want money so you need to...oh I dunno, NOT buy the whole thing. I could give you three, 6 galleons each but I'd much rather sell you 2 for 8 that way I still make a decent profit and you get some eggs." And he got a look too. No. Way. She wanted galleons.

"Look kid, I'm in a bit of a hurry, just let me buy the jar."

"But I'd really rather you just buy a few." She insisted. Her eyes fell to his hand in time to see him briefly touch his wand before releasing it and clearing his throat. "You wouldn't use that on me." She said with a level of confidence only found in a Gryffindor unfortunately. "There's tons of students here as witnesses plus Professors and others. You'd be caught before you could even--"

He just said he was in a hurry. He made that rather clear. Why was she still talking? With a heavy sigh, he pulled several galleons from his pocket and smacked them on the table then took the jar and disappeared into the crowd. Children. No wonder he didn't like them.

"HEY!!" She called after him. Lex looked briefly to the table and counted the galleons he'd dropped. Only 10?! Sure that was twice as much as the jar cost but she could have gotten MORE if he hadn't made off with the whole bloody jar!! "Someone stop him! Thief!!!!"...."Wait no, he didn't steal them but he was being CHEAP!!!!" Why wasn't anyone stopping him??? She WANTED more galleons!!!!!!!!!

Uuuugggggghhhhhhhhh.

"Settle down there, Lex," Mo dropped more jars of eggs heavily on the table and arranged them in neat rows across the front. It was just tidier that way and made it look like they had loads of stock available. Which... they kind of did. Mo moved even more eggs to the front of the table and stacked a few jars into a glittering pyramid.

"STEP RIGHT UP, FOLKS. Genuine Ashwinder eggs for sale, going to a great cause," Mo picked up a jar and waved it over Lex's head, smiling his big grinny smile at those who meandered past. No takers yet, but it was early days. "Remember that you're not just buying eggs. You're keeping me from becoming a homeless bum by providing an education!" An older woman who may have been slowing down immediately sped up and disappeared around the corner. Spoilsport.

He spotted his sister's friend and neighbor just down the table, and Mo jostled his way down to say hello. "'lo, Kurumi. I heard that you were sending people cookies, only you haven't sent any to me and I was wondering if it's because you're mad about me dressing up Walnut, but I HAD to dress up Walnut so that Titus wouldn't be uncomfortable. It is SUCH a burden to have a bunny with self-esteem issues, but I'm an excellent bunny papa. Are you buying eggs?"

Grin. "Yup, Ashwinder eggs." Nearly fresh out of the forest, actually. The blonde chose to not mention poor Ghost, the layer of said eggs. Oh and Mr. Firth had questions? Luckily enough, Ella had answers. She was well versed in all things Ashwinder by now.

"Well, Ashwinder eggs just so happen to be ingredients in many potions, y'now." Mhm, they were. "Most notably the Love potions, though I'm sure a man like yourself wouldn't need a potion to help with that." Too much? Eh. Complimenting the customer couldn't hurt. "They can also be consumed if, say, you came down with a terrible case of Ague." Yup. She'd read that too.

"They could make lovely gifts too. Y'know, for your colleagues around the holidays. Surely Professor Lafay or maybe even Healer Tillstorm would appreciate them."

Tired. Mackenzie was TIRED. But she put on her best smiling face to get this over with. She knew that she could keep any money she made, so that was an incentive. So much so that she had made a sign to hold.

Talking to strangers had really never been her thing. Her grandparents had taught her at a very young age that talking out of turn was a bad thing.
So this was not her ideal homework assignment. Sigh Holding her sign, while standing away from the others slightly she smiled shyly as witches and wizards walked past, none noticing the lonely girl standing to herself.

N'awww. Kurumi didn't have to apologize to Mika. At least that was what Beezus thought. She was only going for the one where she wouldn't be running out of galleons but would still pass up as a great deal.

Lookit. Kurumi was handing her out the four galleons now. Beezus accepted the money and grinned at the older girl before giving her a two-finger salute. "Thanks Kurumi. I still have many jars of eggs right here and we might even be able to talk prices out if you ever want to buy more." Hehe.

"Excuse me, young miss...are you selling Ashwinder eggs?" The man of 32 asked with a warm smile on his face. He had been to the Apothecary a few days ago but they've ran out of stock of that ingredient and he needed almost a dozen of those for the potion that he was brewing.

Beezus' attention was then caught by a man who speaking to her. Classic Beezus smile on. "Hello sir. Yes...these are Ashwinder eggs. Freshly frozen too. Would you like to buy a jar? Six eggs for five galleons." Beaming, she started to lift a jar on top of the table to show him.

Six eggs for five galleons, eh? He supposed each jar contained six eggs. Perfect. "All right. I would take two jars." He nodded and rummaged in his pocket and then pulled out a good ten galleons for the two jars. He handed it out to the girl.

Two jars! "Of course. Let me just wrap it up for you, sir." Quickly, the brunette got to work and into the paper bag the two jars went and then she carefully handed it out to the man as she received the payment. "Thank you for buying sir. And have a good day!"

If business was going to run this smoothly, then yes...it was going to be a good day for her too.

Having set up her stand, Alice was quiet and not yelling like the others. She figured that if people wanted to buy Ashwinder eggs and things, they'd come to HER instead of waiting to be screamed at. In her opinion, her jars looked interesting enough to get noticed, seeing as she'd used Colovaria on them to attract attention and all. And then there was just the fact that SHE was the one selling them, and the fifth year just exuded awesome, so customers were going to come pretty soon. Hopefully.

The whole thing was being taken rather seriously, too, see? She even had her good egg hat on, it was so important.

Alice SAW all these people. Before anyone. And she gave looks around to anyone else who showed any notice of claiming them as their customers, because dibs, okay? But no one seemed to care. So she just kept shooting the passers-by expectant looks, even going so far as to clear her throat rather loudly when people were near, waiting for adults to approach her stand (preferably with money, if that needed to be specified).

Because they would, wouldn't they?

How long was this hug gonna last? She had eggs to sell...and she wasn't even one hundred percent sure who she was talking to. Thank Merlin he was pretty nice and was buying three jars from her and was the dad of someone she knew, otherwise...she might've punched him. Or at least pulled out of the hug immediately and glared.

Finally the hug was over and...wait. Cookies? There was only ONE person she knew who frequently gave out cookies. Which meant...this guy was Kurumi's dad?? Huh. Interesting. She could kinda see the resemblance now. A little. Except Kurumi was much less excitable and loud.

This was...almost kinda funny now. Heh. Penelope grinned.

"Well, she was my favorite person to get cookies from." Also the only one but...that was beside the point. The cookies were still awesome. And then...he was talking SUPER LOUD again...and HUGGING. Sweet Merlin, she was even being lifted slightly. "Oh, er...it was no problem." What else really could you say to that? And could we be put back down?

Thank Merlin.

Now the money. "Thank you." She accepted the galleons with a smile, then pushed three of the jars of ashwinder eggs toward him. They were all his now.

While arranging her jars she noticed a creepy woman approach staring like she was going to take a jar... Weird apparel to a bright pink cloak with mismatched socks and shoes... Who kept looking behind her shoulders.

Was this lady okay? "Can I help you ma'am?"

She gave the little girl a long stare before pointing a long bony finger towards one of the jars.

Nerida smiled and said "Five galleons for a jar." She waited for the woman to respond before moving on.

"Ill take one." As the woman was reaching into a rainbow bag, someone came up behind her and said "Grandma, we were supposed to stay in the store together. You dont need anymore ashwinder eggs...The doctor said no more now you say it too." The woman gave a dirty look to her grandson and quitely said "No more."

"Sorry for my grandmother, we will be on our way now." the man said as he took his grandmother's arm and walked her away.

Nerida said "No its okay, thank you."

Kace already had two attempts at selling his eggs. He still have 4 more jars to go. He wondered how bad it could be. "Alright Kace back to work, keep your charm on. You can do this." he thought to himself. Then he noticed a feeble old woman approach him.

"Hello mam! Are you interested in buying Ashwinder eggs?" he asked her and showed her the jar.

"Oh i wish i could see the jars. Here son just let me feel them." she offered and held out her hand for the jar.

Oh wow she was blind? Kace was very inconsiderate but then again he couldn't have known. She seemed like a normal old woman.

"Oh i am very sorry ma'am, here you go." he said moving the jar towards her hands.

"So you say Ashwinder eggs huh sonny?" she asked with a smile. "How much are you looking to get for them?" she asked sweetly. "My husband and I have been looking for some for a long time." she said opening the jar and feeling the eggs.

"I am asking for 5 galleons for the jar." he said nodding toward the jar, not like she could see....

"Oh wow...that is a bargain compared to other stores i have been to. These are very rare. Where did you manage to get them?" she asked him in awe.

"Oh well these are from our class, we had to follow the Ashwinder into the forest and then get the eggs. It was no biggie actually." he shrugged and grinned.

"You got yourself a deal sonny." she said as she reached and felt in her purse for 5 galleons. "Here you go and do not spend it all in one place." she said and placed two hands on him.

"Thank you so much!" he smiled to her. "You will not regret it!" he called after her, after she waved and carried her jar of eggs back to her home.

Huh...she was so sweet...for a blind old woman that is.

"Aswhinder eggs! Buy you own Ashinder eggs’! Fresh eggs!" Sonea smiled at a women with a small child and walked toward her. "Miss, do you want to buy this Ashwinder egg from me?" Sonea showed her the jar she was holding with the Aswhinder egg and smiled her most friendly smile at the women.

Miss: "I'm sorry, but i don't need one".

The women wanted to walk further but Sonea tried it again. "Miss, i have a special price for you if you want to buy it for me! I will sell it to you for only 5 galleons! That is a good price for this egg, normally they are not this cheap and you will never find one again who is so cheap as this one!" Sonea tried to charm the women but she saw that it not worked...

Miss: I'm sorry, but i don't need one.
The woman sounded annoyed because Sonea had tried to sell her the egg again and walked quickly away from her.

Taking her jar of eggs, Kurumi tried to fit it in her bag and grumbled to herself about not charming it before coming here. Sigh.

"I think just the one jar will be enough," she laughed. "Lewis doesn't use them too often in his potions, but thanks." Now to just make sure that Walnut didn't find the jar and knock it over.

Waving bye to Beezus, Kurumi was just about to turn around and head towards Honeydukes when she heard a familiar voice. Oh, look. Vivi's little brother. Smiling at him, she figured she could put off her other shopping for now and chit chat a little. "Oh, um, I think Selina may have eaten the ones that were meant to be sent to you." Maybe her and Vivi had claimed the box for themselves as dessert after their take-out Chinese?

Ah. Yes. Walnut. "I should be the one apologizing to you since, you know, he peed on you." Even though she felt that the act of peeing was justified this time around. Honesly, who put a cape on a kneezle? A cape among other things. "Just bought some from Beezus," she nodded, feeling a little guilty that she hadn't seen him earlier and bought eggs from him. "You should make Vivi and Selina come down and buy from you." Especially Selina, right? Quidditch player salary and all that.

Laura looked at the Professor and gave her the biggest smile ever. "1 Galleon, 11 sickles and 20 knuts" Laura said truthfully. "That's the best discount ever and I'm only doing it because your one of the greatest Professor to have ever worked at Hogwarts." Laura said truthfully as she took out one of the Jars that she had stored under her desk, she didn't want them to be stolen so they were hidden until someone wanted one.

Clement had set up his stand, but just watched the others for a few moments first. He figured he'd let them sell out, before he sold any of his. It made sense really. Then the customers would want to come to him. He did this for about five minutes, before he actually got bored himself. Well then. He'd get started. He didn't want to be too bored. He shuffled his jars around a little, before glancing around. There wasn't too many people around, so he figured he'd wait till there were more people around. It didn't take long before a few more adults were wandering down the street. Perfect. "Ashwinder eggs for sale." He began yelling, not too loud though, because he didn't really want to scream his head off. Then he'd have a bit of a sore throat.

The adults seemed to be able to see that they were selling anyway, because they were coming over. Clement smiled at a lady that approached his stand. "Hello. Would you like to buy some ashwinder eggs? Freshly frozen. 5 galleons a jar." Because he'd done them himself.

"Ahh. That seems a good deal" The woman nodded, digging into her hand back before pulling her purse out, and handing 5 galleons over to Clement

"Thank you." The slytherin nodded, pocketing the 5 galleons, before he handed over a jar to the lady. Well. That was his first sale. Good going Clement.

Yeah, so Sky wasn't wasting any time in getting right down to the business of attracting attention to herself and her booth. She cast a impervious charm around her booth to keep the cold air away, then shucked off her coat revealing the top underneath. "ASHWINDER EGGS, FIVE GALLEONS! FIVE GALLEONS FOR ASHWINDER EGGS! GET 'EM BEFORE THEY'RE GONE!" That should get people's attention, right?

What was that? Why was that girl shouting? And shouldn't she be in school instead of shilling Ashwinder eggs? But then Houston remembered what he'd read in the Daily Prophet just that morning. About Hogwarts' being robbed. He'd shaken his head at that piece of information the same way he was shaking his head about this scene that he was now seeing. Because now that he was actually looking, he could see that this girl wasn't the only one out selling. So the school was making the students do their dirty work.

He approached the booth the yelling girl was at. "I'll take one, Ms...... Insert name here.

"Carter-Hope. That'll be five galleons, please," she replied, holding her hand out for the coins. Yeah, she wasn't going to hand the man a jar until he paid. She wasn't a Hufflepuff after all.

Houston had to chuckle at the girl. Clever one, wasn't she? He dug out his wallet and counted five gold coins. Placing them in the girl's hand, he then waited for her to place the jar in his hand. Once she did, he added a Good luck, kid," and walked off with his newly purchased jar of Ashwinder eggs. That he really didn't need.

"Yeah sure, dude." Weirdo. Oh well, one jar down, four more to go.

"ASHWINDER EGGS! GET YOUR ASHWINDER EGGS......!"

... which was where?

Dylan...wasn't too siked about spending some of the Hogsmeade weekend selling eggs. Truth be told, if it were up to him, he'd had personally keep all the ashwinder eggs for himself...and count them as money saved. Surely the Slytherin would find potions to used them in...or just use them for experimentation. There was that, too.

When he got to the center with everyone else, they'd already set up and he was just left to stare at all that they were doing. Did this mean he'd need to make sales pitches, too? That wasn't the line of work Dylan wanted to do...What did THAT matter?

Ugh. Why was he complaining so much? Ergh.

Of course, he had his bag with him...five jars of eggs carefully nestled down into it...He was already pulling his wand to conjure a table when the Captain caught sight of his newly renamed Chaser. Odessa.

"Mate, share a table with me?" It was a question, of course. Dylan didn't want to invade the younger boys space...just in case. They'd had a talk and all was well now...but one could never know about these things. Also, was sharing tables allowed? He had no idea...

...and why were the jars covered? He pondered all these things.

Minerva walked with the rest of the class to the tables in Hogsmeade. She was not very thrilled to have to do this. Not that she didn't think it was interested in the lesson or the class, but selling things to people made her feel a little awkward.

Standing at the table she watched as other students jumped right into selling. What were they suppose to say, how do you approach people to do this. Minerva just wasn't sure. She watched as some of the nonHogwart people started coming over, would they wonder why students were selling things? But it was an good learning experience and Minerva never backed away from learning something new.

Seeing a woman coming up near her, Minerva decided to try. Taking a deep breath she gave her best smile, "Good morning Ma'am, we are selling Ashwinder eggs for a class project. Would you be interested?" Well it wasn't screaming, but it was a nice way to get someone to buy them, right?

The sighing was increasingly occurring by the time Ab and his granddaughter made it to the main street. The girl would not. Stop. Talking. For. A. Minute. Now he knew why her mother preferred her to stay over at his and learn more about something called 'SILENCE'. Only Botros was not one to dampen a youth's spirit. He just pretended to listen some times. Other times he would point out something interesting which cause the twenty one years old to shift the topic to that something, and a new cycle began. There was no escape.

Well, there was! "Oh look! My students are... here!" He spoke quickly, cutting the girl mid-sentence.
"..and then I said, 'no, you didn't' but she wouldn't believe me! And she said, yeah, I-- hmm?" Marci was in the middle of an explanation about why her outfit was incomplete today. Grandpa must've noticed the awful bare top of her head, she caught him looking at her several times as they walked down this village and she just couldn't handle NOT telling him. He had to know about Stephanie and her bratty attitude, the girl was so over-spoiled with a capital O. She even reached the exciting point where he'd know how Marci knew that Stephanie was the last one who borrowed her beret and ruined it! Oh but no worries, there was some kind of rally here!

"Are those your students, papa? They look... hardworking. Isn't it weekend in England at this time? I'm sure it is. I checked. OH. Did I tell you that mom got me this weird calender thingie? It just automatically reminds me of the date, just like a rememberall but fancier. I asked her if they had golden ones with stars, but she didn't answer yet. I don't like this owling thing, it takes ages." Marci made a gesture for her Grandpa as in 'excuse me' and skipped down the line of tables and unkempt students screaming about Ashwinder eggs.

"HI!" She chirped to no one in particular, just ALL of them. She had money! And she liked collecting weird things! besides, grandpa said Hoggie was in a financial crisis and students were trying to help their school. Marci was nothing if not a helper to the unfortunate.

Oooh. A person. Well a girl in particular. And she seemed pretty chirpy. Maybe she would want to buy one of his jars of Ashwinder eggs. If only the bloke who clearly didn't want to buy his jars would walk off. Ahh. Finally. Now he could try and get this girl to buy a jar of his Ashwinder eggs. "Heyy." The sixth year beamed at the girl. He figured he needed to try and act happy happy and she would want to buy his eggs. They were the best eggs ever. Although they were the same as everyone elses, so probably didn't stand out too much. He smiled at her.

"Would you like to buy some ashwinder eggs?" He murmured, with a smile, picking up one of the jars, and holding it in his hand. She could take a lot if he wanted. "5 galleons for a jar." So it wasn't that bad of a deal really. Come on laddy. Trying to earn a living here. Or you know. Get some money so he could eat and sleep.

Minerva waited as the lady looked up at her. She wasn't sure what else to say, so she just repeated herself. "Hello, would you like to buy some Ashwinder eggs?"

"Well this is very interesting, a group of students out selling stuff. The school gotten that bad?"The woman chuckled and then eyed the jars, "How much are you selling them for?"

Well at least she was nice, Min thought, "Oh umm..." how much were they selling them for again? Oh she was horrible at this, then it hit her, "There 5 galleons a jar." Yes, that was it, right? Oh goodness she hoped it was at least.

The woman stood thinking about it, but in the end she smiled, "I will take a jar" pulling at her purse and opening it, the woman handed the girl the 5 galleons.

Smiling Minerva took the money and handed the woman her jar, "Thank you and have a wonderful day." That sounded odd, didn't it. Minerva shook her head at herself as the woman walked away.

Theo was a little behind during the walk to Hogsmeade. He was thinking of strategies of selling, and he definitely already had ideas.

He made his way over to West, because of course, but he was already taken by Dylan. Oh. Theo made a sulky face, then set up a table all on his own. Jealous much? The Slytherin laid out his jar filled with three eggs on the table then paused for a moment to think about how he was going to position it all.

How did everyone have customers already?????!

He pulled out his homemade sign from his bag and laid it upright so that it faced the crowd. 15 sickles each seemed reasonable, since he knew they were more expensive than that in the shops. So obviously, people would go to him for a cheaper deal. See? Theo knew things. He felt a little awkward about shouting at people walking past, so he just stood up straight and beamed at everyone, casually pointing to his sign whenever anyone looked over.

Sarah was nervous about this, who would want to buy from her? Sarah heard what the others were asking for theres and she thought theres was overpriced. Who would want to pay 5 galleons for ashwinder eggs? Sarah would never do it herself.

She then casted sonorus. "Buy a jar of Ashwinder eggs, Help Hogwarts and its all for four galleons" Sarah said. She was smiling,as her mother always said that she looked pretty when she smiled, and it was a great way to make people's day and attract customers.

She looked at the students selling, her grandson was home sick with ague and she knew that only ashwinder eggs will relieve the symptoms. Poor Tommy, he had a bad case, chills and all. Yet Madame Gizelle would only go for the best bargain, that was the way she did things. Then she saw a lovey with a grand smile, it made Madame Gizelle smile to match. She walked over to the table, "how much do you want deary for that?" she said. Even if it was not a bargain the girl had such a sweet smile she could not reesist.

Sarah smiled even more, "that will be four galleons a jar! They are fine quality eggs" Sarah assured her.

"I am sure they are, my grandson has ague and I know these will help. Here is four galleons" she said rummaging in her robes for the money with her shaky hands (she was an old woman already). She handed her things over to that sweet girl.

Sarah felt bad for the boy, having malaria is not fun. She took the payment and handed over the jar in exchange. "I am so sorry for him. i hope he feels better! Have a great day! Thank you for your support!" Sarah said.

The eldery lady hobbled off

Meanwhile Sarah took her next jar

Half price, seeeeeeee, bargain, a rather painful one at that.

Oh Professor Barlow! Callie hadn't really talked much with the new Professor yet but it seemed she was doing well already at the school planning field trips to the village and all that.

"Oh I see that now." That she wasn't trying to do something wrong, she was just working like she was supposed to. Nothing wrong with that. She finally found her money purse inside her bag and listened to the Gryffindor's price. She had heard some others nearby saying lower prices but the girl had been so kind.

And they were on sale. "Five Galleons it is then." She set the five fat, gold coins into the girl's hand.

"That's the best discount ever and I'm only doing it because your one of the greatest Professor to have ever worked at Hogwarts." Laura said truthfully as she took out one of the Jars that she had stored under her desk, she didn't want them to be stolen so they were hidden until someone wanted one.

Laura on the other hand was really selling her eggs for a bargain.

Because the girl had suggested the price herself, Calista didn't feel bad only paying that much for the egg compared to Alexa's price. She gave the correct coins to the Hufflepuff.

"That's a fair price Miss Hyde."

"HI!" Again! Marci moved closer to the boy and flashed him a smile of rainbows and fluffy clouds and happy. "Ashwinder eggs? I think I can add an egg or two to my collection. I bet I can get Mrs. Ali to use them in her beauty products, I just wouldn't want which product she would use them in. It's sort of disturbing to look at. Did you try using dark jars for those instead of glass ones? I bet it'd draw more customers this way. I mean, if Papa didn't point out that you're his students, I wouldn't have stopped. OH! You can tie a ribbon around each jar! The kids will love it and nag their parents to get them Ashwinder eggs even if they don't know what it's for. Oh wait a minute, what did you just say?" There was no stop button anywhere, the blonde just continued talking and grabbing one of the jars in the process. "FIVE galleons per egg? What am I buying? An Ellsberry kit?" That was for MUCH MUCH more than 5 galleons but a boy wouldn't know. Unless he wore make up and cared for his... beauty. "But for the sake of your school, I will pay. I actually just had my coins traded in the bank. One would think you won't need your parents' help once you get a job. Big. Lie. Ever. What will seventy galleons a month do to me? You see these boots? They're more than fifty galleons. I don't shop at troll's place for fashion." SNORT. She handed the boy five galleons and waved goodbye. "It was really a pleasure to meet you! I know I haven't introduced myself or my name but I'm sure you don't care. As a vendor, your job is just buying things. And studying in a bankrupt school. I totally get it. But just in case you were curious, my name is Marci. I really wish you luck in your further sales. Try the ribbon thing and dark jar." One last flashing smile and then she skipped away to another table.

MERLIN'S. FLASHY. BELT. She was robbed!

More importantly, though, the boy apparently was either mute or overly quiet! He was not shouting!promoting his eggs but merely pointing at a ghastly looking sign. Marci couldn't imagine anything more horrible than being MUTE. Unable to speak! She stood right in front of the boy and dramatically put a hand to her chest, "Let me just say, holy Merlin's Beard! I do not even begin to imagine the distress you must be in. It's so sad! I kind of understand though. Once Stephanie, she's my best friend but kind of sassy and spoiled but I still love her to bits - anyways, she went ahead and put a silencing charm on ME. Me! For an entire half an hour I was completely silence and it was just torture!" She groaned and leaned closer toward the boy. "I found my wand soon and lifted the spell, though. I didn't understand why she would do such a thing. She does really wicked stunts sometimes, I don't understand her. Like this time when she borrowed my beret and ruined it then claimed to have never borrowed it? HEH. I mean, what did she think? That I don't keep a record of who borrowed what from my wardrobe? I have it locked and concealed behind a wall in my papa's mansion for a reason! It's why I couldn't wear it to my weekend with Papa today. I had to go with the casual outfit and dump the French touch. My Papa doesn't mind, he's a sweet old man. He was actually here just a minute ago." Marci looked around and saw Botros at the eeeeeend of the line, pretending to be interested in a wall crack. Hmmm. Weird man. "Is it true though?" She said after three seconds. "Only fifteen Sickles? Are you kidding? That boy just sold it for me for five galleons. Aren't you two from the same school? Are your eggs smaller than his? Tell you what, give me a jar. I'll pay one galleon for it. I don't mind. You deserve this one galleon. Your hair is nice and it goes with your pale complexion. I work in Madam Malkins, I know those stuff. I would say green would look the best on you. Try the French painter look one day, the girls will just swoon. I know these things!" She giggled and handed him a galleon and was about to open her mouth once again...

It felt as though Mack had been holding her sign forever, when in reality it hadn't been all that long before an older witch approached her.

"Hogwarts, eh?! I haven't been on school grounds in ages." Reading the sign more carefully the woman nodded at the girl "I'll take 8 Ashwinder eggs my dear" smiling as she watched a grin spread across the small blondes face.

"Oh thank you ma'am!!" Mack grinned as she carefully pulled 8 eggs and handed to the woman, who in turn handed her 10 galleons.

So, Jory was three jars down and he was aiming to sell the remaining two. But even if he didn't, he wouldn't mind. He kept his eye out for another potential customer. In the meanwhile, he looked around at the other students. They were all busy and he even spotted Mr. Firth and Professor Elwood.

But the Puffer's attention was diverted when he saw a young girl with a woman who was studying the jars of eggs. "Action time,'' he thought.

"Good day, Ma'am,'' he said with a smile. "These Ashwinder Eggs were laid and frozen a few days ago. So they're fresh as they'll ever be!'' Jory know he was saying some crazy stuff, but whatever, if it would get him the sale he didn't care.

The woman looked at him and smiled while the girl fidgeted with one of the jars. "They certainly look fresh. And that's sometimes hard to find.'' He picked up the other jar and looked at it closely as if determined to make sure they were not stale.

Meanwhile, Jory was trying to retrieve the other jar from the girl. "Can I have it back please?'' he asked desperately, fearing that she might drop it. He stretched for it as she held it out of his reach. "Er...Ma'am? Could you tell her to give me back that?''

The woman, still examining the jar, looked around startled as she had not noticed the scenario going on with Jory and the little girl. "Anna!'' she said. "That is not a toy. You give it back to him at once.''

Jory took the jar in relief as the girl reluctantly held out the jar to him. "Thank you,'' he said, with mock sincerity. Like she would notice that. "That would be five galleons,'' he added to the woman, still keeping the other jar in his hands. "No discount for you as your daughter is so troublesome,'' he thought.

The woman dived into her pocket and counted out five galleons. "Your money, young man. Come along, Anna.''

"Yes, go along, Anna,'' Jory thought. "You're welcome, Ma'am!'' Jory watched them go. A few paces later, Anna turned and stuck her tongue out at him. "Really!'' he muttered. "the nerve of some kids.'' Oh well. He had gotten one more jar sold so he didn't mind.

Errrrrr......

Theo ignored the weird girl completely, as if he didn't even hear her... but she just kept going on, and on, AND ON. He folded his arms and gave her a judging look. "What're you talking about?" He totally got lost the moment she said 'Stephenie is sassy and spoiled'.

"Fifteen sickles each. I have three eggs in this jar so that would be..." He paused for a while. A long while, and added it up on his fingers. "It would be like, at least 3 galleons." Close enough. He eyed her one measly galleon that she handed over to him, but his arms were still crossed. Sure, he knew that customers liked a good bargain but he wasn't that generous.

"You should have come to me first." He said, looking over to that guy that had just sold her his eggs. Theo couldn't remember his name, but knew that he was on the team this term. And then she was complimenting his hair and complexion. Well... he would agree but this was just a weird first conversation. Theo just raised an eyebrow and slowly nodded.

So, was it a deal?

Once Kace sold his second jar, he had to change his tatics. He wanted to sell his but he probably should yell it louder.

"Get Your Ashwinder Eggs Here! On Sale for a Limited Time Only! Come on Down and Buy them! You will not be sorry!" Kace said loudly.

Once he said it, a young man was walking by and he smiled at him. "You trying to sell eggs young man?"

Kace nodded politely but in his head he was thinking "What gave away that idea.."

"Yes sir! Would you like some?" he asked.

The young man shook his head. "Oh i am sorry son, i already bought some." he said pointing to his jar. Kace's heart dropped and he was a little let down.

"Oh that is fine, i know a lot of people are selling around here." he said looking around.

"Well good luck to you sonny." the kind man said to him and walked away with his jar.

The Kace decided to walk around and even go outside the center. Once he was outside he saw a little girl with her mother. The little girl seemed like his age. She pointed at him, "Mommy that boy is cute." she smiled to him.

Kace smiled and then the mother saw what he was selling. "Oh are you selling Ashwinder eggs? I was actually looking for some. How much are you selling?" she asked him.

"Oh well i am selling for 5 galleons."

"How about 4 and you will get a deal." she winked at him. Kace nodded and handed her the jar. "Wait mommy i wanna give him the money." the little girl said tugging at her bag. "Alright sweetie go ahead.."

The little girl gave him the money and she smiled at him. "I hope i can see you around....?" she said asking for a name. "Kace." he replied. "Well see you around Kace." she said kissing him on the cheek and left.

He rubbed the place where she kissed her and he felt admired.

OH he talks! Marci didn't really listen to everything he said, she just caught the three galleons part. She kept checking the other tables and her grandpa far away. "Three eggs per jar? I wonder how many eggs that boy had in his jar. I'm not about to just put my hand in and find out though. Did you wash the eggs after retrieving them? Speaking of which, where exactly did you get those eggs from? Did you wait an Ashwinder to lay some and retrieved them? Is that what students are doing now at Hogwarts? I think it's really cool that you're trying to help your school, don't get me wrong, but I still wonder about things you know. It's like I'm still ten when barely anything made any sense at all. I'll take the jar, it's still cheaper than that boy. Oh and by the way, you're not supposed to cross your arms when you talk to a customer." She added two galleons to her coin and put them on his table, looking genuinely mellow as she gave him her precious piece of advice. "You have to assume a more friendly and less snobby demeanor. It's hard, I know. I had difficulty too when I started working, but surprisingly people won't just approach you because you have nice hair. Really weird, huh?" There are lots of weird things in this world, Marci was definitely not one of them. She took her second jar from the boy and flashed him a big grin, "Nice to talk to you! And thank you for the eggs! You were really nice. See you around!" She hopped back, the jars dangerously swaying in her arms, and turned to call to Botros.

Alexa beamed up at the woman, took the five galleons then fished out an Ashwinder egg for her. "Thanks for supporting me Professor!!" Really. Not many others would have. "And I hope you have a wonderful rest of the day in Hogsmeade!" BEAM.

Her day would be spent selling but she was sure they wouldn't be stuck here all day because she wanted to spend some of the galleons she'd earned.

Her gaze rested briefly on Laura. They had both just sold an egg but Lex had easily made nearly five times as much as her. There was a lesson to be learned in all this but if the Puffer couldn't see that then she wasn't about to point it out. Let her sell them for whatever she wanted.

Lex looked over at Mo who was suggesting that she settle down. How could she when some random creeper showed up and basically stole her merchandise??? It wasn't faaaaair. She wanted more for it and now he was gone and she only had three jars left that could be sold. As a result, she would not be selling another jar. They would all have to back up and find some eggs elsewhere if they couldn't be satisfied with one or two.

And yes, she meant that.

Minerva was looking around for others that might want to buy these Ashwinder eggs. She had looked down at the eggs when she felt someone come near her. Looking up and smiling, "Would you like to buy any Ashwinder Eggs? We are selling them as a class today." Her smile quickly faltered when she realized who the person was standing across from her. "Oh hi Leelee" her cousin, this was well it just was.

Leelee smiled at Minerva, "Oh selling things now are we?"

Minerva decided she had to keep smiling she was with her professor, "Yes we are selling Ashwinder eggs. They are 5 galleons a jar." So either buy them or leave please, she thought to herself.

Leelee smirked, "Now what on earth would I do with Ashwinder eggs." She kept her smirk at Minerva and thought it over. "No.. no I have no need for them, I was just curious as to what was going on." Turning she headed down the street.

Minerva tried to keep her smile on her face, but she took a deep breath as her cousin walked away. Thankful she was gone, now it was time to find someone that actually wanted to buy these eggs.

"EXCUSE ME!" This woman snapped at the Professor "I HEARD YOU ARE SELLING ASHWINDER EGGS, HOW MUCH!" The woman pushed passed the Professor.

Laura just stared at the woman and then decided to be mean for her being rude. "5 galleons for a jar." Laura wasn't in the best mood and was shocked when the women handed her the 5 galleons, she didn't want to hand the jar over but knew she had to.

"OUT MY WAY!" The woman snapped as she shoved pasted the Professor and walked off with her jar off eggs,

Laura suddenly and for no reason apparent started giggled as the woman left, she then looked at the Professor. "Are you alright Professor?"

CoMC HW1 - Post 2

Still smiling from her first sale, the thirteen year old began advertising again, a little more loudly this time.

"Ashwinder Eggs! Ashwinder Eggs! Fresh! Frozen! Fireborn!" she shouted as she watched more people pass. Don't they hear us? she wondered about a few that didn't even bother to look their way. I guess I wouldn't like being heckled at either though, so who can blame them?

She sighed and continued with her mission. "Ashwinder Eggs! Great for potions! Hot off the press!....Except that they're not hot actuallllyyyy!" She wished that man would come back and buy all of her eggs so she could be done bothering people, but no such luck. He was long gone.

There was however, a short stumpy woman with a babushka on, crookedly walking towards her with a cane. She's um...sort of freaky isn't she then? She didn't mean to be rude though, so she tried to talk with her. "Hello ma'am, would you like to buy some eggs? They were just created yesterday." She supposed she couldn't really say born since the little snakes inside never really got a chance to be much of anything. The thought made her sad, but it seemed to be a standard practice, so she wouldn't object as long as it was for classwork.

She woman blinked and squinted at the jar. "Eggs? What kind of eggs?" She frowned at the girl and the blur of a sign she had set up. She really should work on finding those glasses soon...

Oh the poor thing, can't hear or see? She spoke up a little louder. "Ashwinder eggs, ma'am. Five galleons for a whole jar!" She nodded and pushed a jar towards her.

The woman blinked hard again and leaned forward. "Ashgrinder eggs? Grinder what? Five galleons for a grinder?! No, no...tsk tsk tsk." The old woman made a distrustful face and started to turn away.

Not wanting to lose a sale, Eliza piped up again. "No, not grinder. AshWwwiiinder. Winder. Like the snake! The snake, Ashwinder, eggs. Cures some fevers and is good for potions, ma'am." Not that this woman should be anywhere near a hot cauldron any time soon.

The woman turned around and rested her cane against the table, taking a jar in her hands. "Oh well why didn't you say so?" She shook the jar as if she could hear how good the eggs were. Grinder, winder, what's the difference, she grumbled internally. "Five galleons you say?" She dug around in her coinpurse and produced only three of the coins and laid them on the table, with dignity and pride of course.

"Yes ma'am. That's right," Eliza replied as kindly as she could, holding in a small exasperated eyeroll that she felt sneaking up. She had said that already! But at least the woman wanted to buy some, only...she had just three galleons. Twisting her lip at the low price, Eliza debated questioning the woman. But since she hadn't really spent any money herself trying to get the eggs, she let it pass. Plus she was old and could barely function anyway, so call it a senior discount. She collected the money and sent the woman on her way. "Thank you very much ma'am!"

Back to the grind. "Ashwinder eggs! Get your Ashwinder eggs here!!!" She patted her hands on her table for some sound effects, hoping to lure in a customer.

Tucker wasn't all too concerned about this assignment. He was a charmer, he was sure to sell five jars in no time! How could anyone resist his face? Hehe. Plus, his mother had practically raised him in the art of being a Slytherin, and even though that hadn't turned out to be true he was still going to be as cunning and snakelike as possible to get full credit. Plus, he was sure they were using this as a way to get extra money for the school. Why wouldn't they be? It'd make perfect sense!

Once the professor had walked them into the area they were supposed to set up shop, he got his jars and cleared his throat. Alright. Showtime.

"Ashwinder eggs for sale! Five galleons a jar! Help the students of Hogwarts during this financial crisis we are facing and donate today! Perfect and fresh eggs ready for use, just five galleons!" he called into the air. He flashed a grin at every person who passed and although he didn't have any customers yet, they all smiled back politely.

Finally, an older gentleman walked over and gave the boy a grin. "Marvelous to see you students out fundraising for the school! Five galleons, you say?" he asked.

Tucker nodded.

The man pulled out his coin purse, counted out the money and then passed it on to Tucker. He grinned and handed the man his jar of eggs. "Thanks so much! Tell your friends to come out and help us too!" he added with a wink. The man chuckled and thanked him before walking off, examining his newly purchased eggs through the jar.

"Potions, eh?" Like which ones? Oh, she was already anticipating her customer's questions! Good saleswoman, she was. But at the mention of the love potions, his face quickly held a scowl. Ruby... he thought. How long would it take for that particular pain to go away?

But the Captain was on to a different topic. He didn't catch all of her words, but he heard something about Hecate and Cece. Would Cece need these? I know her supplies are down... but how often does a student get ague? Surely not very often. However.. Ali definitely wanted to be in the good books of those particular ladies.

But he wasn't willing to shell out a few Galleons quite yet. "Le's say I buy some. How would I store them until Christmas? Do I have ter keep 'em frozen that whole time? How long are they good fer?" Yes, this was also a test, Bishop.

DaniDiNardo 05-22-2013 10:08 PM

Lex's eyes shifted from the Professor to yet another person who walked up to the stall. At least this one wasn't dressed in some creepy old cloak. One of those was enough. Ruuude man, very, VERY rude. Ahem, but back to the woman who stood before her. "Can I interest you in an Ashwinder egg or two ma'am?" In her perfectly pleasant tone and expression. She thought to question it when the woman suddenly started beaming but decided to wait for her to speak.

"You certainly can deary, how much are you selling these jars of Ahswinder eggs for?"

Consider her eyebrows raised as she looked over at the woman. Working with the creepy old guy maybe. Either way, no.

"I'm sorry but I'm not actually selling them by the jar...they...er... they're in great demand and you taking a whole 6 would deprive several other customers who might also like to make purchases."

The woman frowned a bit. All these signs...none of them said you couldn't buy a whole jar and she'd run out of them in her storage. "But, there are so many of you selling, surely a jar won't make a difference. Come now, name your price, everyone has their price." The adult world taught you that.

Lex scowled up at the woman.

Five galleons versus SO MUCH MORE GALLEONS IF SHE TOLD THE WOMAN TO FALL OFF A CLIFF, gee, wonder which one she'd choose.

"Like I said, I really don't think I should be selling you a whole jar, be reasonable, what would you do with so many? It doesn't seem realistic. In fact, you probably don't want to buy any but should because it's for a good cause." The making Alexa Cambridge richer cause. Buying a WHOLE BLOODY JAR wouldn't support that cause. NOPE.

Now it was the woman's turn to raise an eyebrow. "Young Lady, are you trying to sell or keep these jars? I'm not sure I follow but are you telling me not to buy them?"

.....

"I didn't say that."

She thought for a long moment then sighed. "Alright, here's what we'll do. You want all six, right?"

"Yes...that's right..."

"Then buy two from this jar," She said, tapping the one before them, "and the other four from this one." Lex pulled forward another jar that had yet to be opened. The woman gave her a questioning look that she quickly sought to dismiss. "Trust me, it makes a BIG difference." For her anyway. "You'll give me 8 galleons for the two from this jar and 4 galleons for the 4 in here."

The woman was now confused. "Uh...is there a difference between the eggs in this jar and the ones in that one?" She didn't want eggs of different qualities.

"Um...yes and no." Really she was just skating around the whole, can't sell a jar for more than five galleons thing but yeeeah, she wasn't about to mention that either. "Really they're the same but the price is directly proportional to the amount you buy." And with that she added a firm nod. "Do we have a deal?"

This time the woman was a little less sure but she nodded nonetheless she fished 32 galleons out of her money bag and slid them across the counter. "Can I at least have them all put into one jar?" That wouldn't be too much to ask of this strange girl.

"Oh sure, no problem!!!" Lex took two eggs from the first jar and replaced them with two eggs from the second jar. "Here you go, have a great day." BEAM. And that was how you beat the system. Heh.

"Yup, potions." Nodnod. The blonde beamed at the grounds keeper and tilted her head slightly at the scowl. Trouble in paradise, then? Poor Mr. Firth. He did have nice hair, though. That meant he would find love again soon. Nice hair was a very good way to attract women, y'know.

Oh so they were talking in hypotheticals now, huh? Ella watched and waited, biting her lip as the man continued to ask more and more questions. She was going to keep her cool, though. Even if she wasn't completely sure about the answers she was about to give. "Well if you did buy the eggs, you'd be one happy customer." Just saying. "I'd just store them in the jar, Mr. Firth." Because they were safe and sound in there and they looked nice too. "Since unfrozen Ashwinder eggs are extremely hot and have been known to set fire to things, my opinion would be that they should stay frozen." So she was basing this answer on facts, see? She wasn't completely full of bologna. "Also, if the plan is to use the eggs for those two things I mentioned previously, they can only be used when frozen." So just another fact to help with the keep them frozen thing. As for how long they'd keep, Ella really had NO idea. "I've never heard of Ashwinder eggs going bad, Sir, so I think they'll be just fine until Christmas." Cause y'know, that's the time frame that he'd thrown out there.

...

"So, what do you think?" BROWS.

One sale down, four more to go. This was going to be a piece of cake. Tucker didn't even really need to TRY. He just DREW people into him, ya know? He had that FACE. That was what the root of his success was, he was sure of it.

Anyways, next customer!

He turned to a woman who was walking by, who seemed friendly enough, and held out a jar. "Fresh ashwinder eggs? Only five galleons!" he said with a smile.

To his surprise, the old woman got very sour and instead of accepting his sales pitch, flung her arm out and sent them flying from his hand. "Get those things away from me, boy!" she cried out in anger before scouring off.

Man, what was her grudge against ashwinders??

Thankfully the jar had landed on Tucker's schoolbag that he had rested nearby, so it wasn't broken. Thank GOODNESS. Tucker shot a nasty glance at her retreating figure before trying the next person to pass.

He didn't want her business anyways!

She didn't make the sale, she just smiled to Kurumi otherwise. "Its all good, you have a nice day" she smiled brightly. She continued to yell out about the eggs for sale until a woman walked forward.

She blinked for a few minutes before smiling brightly. "DIA! How are you?" She squealed and locked her arm around her sister in a HUGE hug.

"I'm alright kiddo" India smiled as she glanced at the stand. She was after all heading to school for potioneering. "So, you said five galleosn for these things?" She asked with a large grin on her face. "I'll take two" she smiled and handed over ten galleons. "No questions or haggling sis, take the galleons and hand me those eggs" she beamed as her sister handed her the eggs. "Love you dear, I'll see you over christmas and Happy Birthday monkey" she beamed before turning and leaving the stand and her sister alone.

A loud POP later she had left.

Peyton rubbed her hands together, watching the crowd before her. There was a mischievousness flash in those green-gray eyes of hers and a smirk plastered on her face. The fourth year looked more like a snake stalking it's prey. Suddenly, and out of nowhere, she smiled pleasantly and clapped her hands once.

This was no time to scare or time to intimidate people, even that was one of her favorite pass times. She was here to sell Ashwinder eggs.

Peyton had owled her father and asked for a few tips on selling stuff and he answered back with a foot long parchment of tips. She also caught his worried words. Apparently he was worried that she was making such a fuss about Hogwarts. But why would she? Live was GOOD.

Especially if you ate ice cream every day. ^______^

The redhead set up a board she'd worked on over night and stuck it to her table. It read: PEYTON'S FROZEN AND READY ASHWINDER EGGS! in her curly writing. The words were charmed to glitter.

"Come and get your Ashwinder eggs! Frozen and ready for your own purposes!" she chirped, plastering her most dazzling smile on her face. It was something she'd seen her dad do with the ladies back when he wasn't married. It was like offering them free Galleons.

Except her smile, along with her pretty eyes and long eyelashes, she would attract anyone. That's what she believed in, anyway.

Did everyone hear that? DID EVERYONE HEAR WHAT THIS DARLING LITTLE GRYFFINDOR HAD JUST SAID?! Oh he could just hug her again, but he made himself stop.

"Thaaaaaaaaaaank you and good luck selling the rest of your ashwinder eggs," he said with a wave as his three jars were placed delicately in his bag. And with one last glittering smile, he was off.

"Thanks!" She smiled back. And then...he was gone.

Phew.

Okay. Hopefully any other customers she had would be more...calm and less huggy. Not that she didn't like hugs...she just preferred them to be from her friends, not her friends' dads. Heh. It was still sorta funny. She'd have to tell Kurumi about this some time.

And now to focus on selling the rest of these jars.

Penelope stayed quiet but kept a pleasant smile on her face as she watched people pass by the table, waiting for one to come over. She didn't see the need in shouting at people to buy things right now. It was pretty hard to miss what they were selling, and yelling at them would only cause her to lose her voice, not make them any more inclined to buy something if they didn't already want it.

Finally, a woman and her small child walked by, and the little boy started pointing at them and tried to drag his mother over to the table.

"Look, mummy, eggs!" he said excitedly.

"We don't need any ashwinder eggs, Billy," replied his mother, trying to pull him away from the table.

"Want ashywind eggs!"

"Only three galleons!" Penelope called out, trying not to grin too much at the boy's excitement. It was kinda amusing.

"Free galeuns, mummy!"

"Real useful too," Penelope continued. "Used in potions and to cure ague..."

"I'm sorry, we just don't have need for them right now," the woman replied, picking up her flailing son to continue their trip down the street. The boy was stretching his arms over his mother's shoulder, looking as if he thought his little arms would be long enough to reach for a jar even as he was carried away.

"Bye-bye, ashywind eggs," he said sadly with a little wave.

Penelope waved back, and then the pair disappeared among the crowd.

Well, no sale. Pity. At least the little boy had been kinda adorable and amusing.

She watched as villagers passed by. Some would look her way, look thoughtful, then walk away. If it wasn't for her great mood she'd be scowling at everyone, but she had to remember to keep a cool head. Her dad did say business wasn't easy. That one had to play the customer up. Look for those who looked weak, get into their head and BAM! they'd cave right in.

Scanning the crowd, Peyton spotted the person that would be her first customer. She was confident about this one. It was a man, head balding with gray hair at the sides, leaving the top of his head shiny. He wore a pea green coat and was holding it tightly against him. He almost looked paranoid. Mwahaha!

"Sir!" Peyton said. The man glanced everywhere and then pointed at himself. "Yes, you. I love your coat. Nice shade of green." Not really. "I want to share a secret with you." She beckoned him curling her finger toward her. Yes, come here.

The man, shrinking into himself glanced every way and took slow steps toward her. "Y-Yes?"

"You see these eggs?" Peyton didn't wait for a response. "They'll save your life. HOW?" Again, she went on. "You see, there has been rare cases of Ague going around. You do know that, right? Every wizard should be well informed. Anyway, Ashwinder eggs are going out fast. Faster than brooms on Quidditch season. So, we're all here to help the people of Hogsmeade. But..." she beckoned him closer. "I've taken special care of this eggs. Why do you think their color is bright and so alive?" She took a jar and pushed it toward him. "For only f--" Not five. "Seven Galleons you can have this WHOLE jar of Ashwinder eggs. I was giving them out for ten Galleons, but since you seem like a nice person, I'll give you a discount." She smiled sweetly at him. "Might cure your sweating. That's a sign of Ague." He wasn't really sweating, but he might be now. Hehee.

The man stared at Peyton, his eyes wide with paranoia. He felt warm. Too warm. And he was sweating. The sweet little girl had pointed that out herself. Now he had chills running up his arms. Oh, Merlin. He was going to die, wasn't he? He eyed the jar. He needed those eggs. He didn't want to die!

Digging into his robe pocket, the man produced seven Galleons and with a shaky hand he handed them over to the girl and snatched up the jar, hiding it in his robes. Those were HIS eggs. "T-Thank y-you," he stammered.

Peyton tilted her head and smiled once more. "No, thank you." As the man turned away, Peyton dropped the Galleons into her purse. "Have a nice day and don't die!"

Hahahahahahahahahahahahhaha!:mwaha:

A little put off from his last failed attempt, Tucker just cleared his throat and got his head back in the game. He couldn't let one crazy lady get in his head like that! He immediately put a grin on his face once more and turned to the crowd again.

"Step right up and get your fresh ashwinder eggs! Only a few days old, the best of their kind!" he called. Wow, he should really go into sales after this, he was a natural..."Ashwinder eggs, only five galleons!"

A friendly looking woman stepped up to him and fished around in her purse for five galleons. "Here you go, son - how old are these again?" she asked.

"Just a few days, m'am," he told her with a smile as he took the money from her.

She grinned. "Perfect! I need them for a potion I'm making, and this is a right steal compared to those shops in Diagon Alley! Thank you again," she said one more time before putting the jar in her purse and walking off.

Tucker grinned and pocketed his most recent sale. Almost halfway there!

Post 2- Kurumi and Botros family (stupid quotes didn't wooooork)

Kurumi was obviously not going to buy eggs from Mo, considering she'd just bought some from Beezus, but he stayed by her side and waved half-hearted jars of eggs and wary customers from time to time. "I don't want to bother Vivi and Selina... they're busy this weekend, I'm sure." And he wasn't going to go begging his sister to be a customer when she was trying to scrape by on her own. That was what mothers were for.

"I'm not sorry I made Walnut wear that cape. I really think he wanted to be a super hero and was feeling jealous of Titus," Mo was pretty emphatic about the wants and needs of his pets. He just KNEW, okay?

"You send me some cookies, Miss Kurumi. Don't let Selina eat any more of them, on account of I need them more than she does because I'm growing and she's done." She got another broad grin, but then Mo spotted his very favorite professor.

Ab-BOT!! "Professor! Professor Botros! Do you want to buy Ashwinder eggs today? Did you bring Feo? Is this girl with you? How was your summer?" There. Eggs had been offered.

Mika had successfully sold to two people. She just had to sell one more - that was her goal after all. She wanted to see if she could sell one more jar of eggs. And then maybe she would see if she could find people to buy from other students. You know yell, run into the store and chat up Hops? Those kind things.

Mika threw her hands into the air and hollered a bit more. "Ashwinder EGGS" she squawked at people trying to get people's attention. She mainly got glares. She did shoot Peyton a look when she slyly made someone think they were dying. "That is so not called for" she muttered to herself as she tried to attract customers to her booth. "Aswinder Eggs - get these rare magical snake eggs for your potion needs - don't worry customers these properly frozen specimen won't explode on you. Just think about all the wonderful egg you can use in your daily potion needs" she called in a sing-songy voice to the crowd.

A bearded old man with a wobbly cane hobbled over to her. "Did you say mash fingers?" He asked a confused look on his face. "What is this mash finger?" He stared at her and blinked a few times.

Blink. Blink. Blink.

"Oh, no...not mash fingers - I don't know what those would be." She smiled at the old man, "Probably mashed potato friend in finger-shaped things...like fish fingers but potato fingers?" She offered with a shrug.

Yes, she was answering a most likely crazy man's question. "Sir, I said Ash-wind-er eggs." She smiled at the man.

"Those grey snakes? I'd like an egg..." He smiled of course the girl didn't know he wanted to eat the egg. Eating them sounded like a good plan they were eggs after all. "How much?" He asked a bright dimpled smile etched into his wrinkled face.

"They are five galleons a jar," she smiled to the man and handed him the eggs as he handed over the coins and hobbled back off. He was quite a good hobbler. Very agile.

Botros was still trying to get away from the girl and get a moment or two of silence when his eyes caught Branxton. "Mr. Branxton-- Marco!" He approached his table, nodding at the Ravenclaw and the girl nearby. "Also Ashwinder eggs, eh?" There was more to say, of course, but he didn't have the chance to. Marci came with two jars under each arm and a shining smile on her face. "Marci, dear! You bought two jars! What..." was she going to do with them exactly? Ab just stared at her, confused.
"HI!" This boy was not like the two former ones, he TALKED! Almost as efficiently as she did, saving lots of oxygen between sentences. "Yes, of course I'm with papa Botros. This is our first weekend together and he wanted to introduce me to his students. You guys are very impressive by the way, you're actually sort of working on weekends! That must be a pain." She didn't wait for the boy to speak but quickly nodded at his eggs, "Your jars look cleaner. I'm buying those to try and use them in my own beauty products! How much are your eggs for? Are you sure they're good? I don't want to buy cheap ingredients for what I'm making. I still think you should put a ribbon around the jars, they'll look more appealing to the crowd. It's a good thing they're eggs and not eyes then you'd have to use darker jars. Did you--"

Botros placed a hand on the girl's shoulder and pushed her gently to the side, "We'll take a jar." He deserved it. Anyone who listened to Marci did. Ab considered dropping few extra Knuts for the other two boys even. "My granddaughter likes to... communicate with people very much." Cue nervous chuckle as the girl tried to balance the two jars in her arms as she nodded vigorously, confirming.

Yup.

Here, a lil' girl was tryna' take Saul's money already. Poor thing. He felt bad fer th' lass, considerin' this was her weeken' too and she oughter be able ter enjoy it, but nope, she was out here sellin' eggs. Fer a class, it looked like.

Lousy fundraiser if yeh asked him. But th' only thing anybody was asking Saul was whether or not he wanted their ashwinder eggs. Hmmhmm.

"I only need th' one jar," he mumbled. Saul held his wallet firmly in one hand and picked up one of the girl's jars with th' other. "Hmm." Ten galleons fer this!

Oh. Hullo there Mister!

Lexa had snagged him first, she saw that. But.... "Hello sir! Hello, hello. Would you like to buy a jar of Ashwinder eggs? I can give you two jars for 7 galleons." Brows. Hey, that was still a lot of money.

But maybe he didn't need to spend ten whole galleons. "Seven galleons fer two," Saul repeated, setting the first girl's jar down with a thud. "Well I'll be, lil ladeh, is that a square deal?"

He spat in his empty hand and held it out fer her t' shake.

He was trying to be a good salesman. If he didn't make the deal he would be fine with it. Not everyone was keen on buying eggs from a first year.

"Sorreh, son," Saul used his wallet-holdin' hand ter tip his hat toward the lil' boy, "but I think I've got me a bargain here, wit this 'un." He nodded toward Beezus.

Twitch.

Why did everyone want to buy a whole jar. It worked out crudily for her when they decided to be smart about it. Really, with her, it cost less to buy the entire thing but really, she never thought many people would want the WHOLE jar.

Here this man was proving her wrong--

STOP!!!

STOP STOP STOP

Was it just her or was Bee like TOTALLY RUINING her sale??? Um. NO. "Excuse me Sir." Because this was just a NO. It was no longer about the galleons she earned but the principle behind it. Namely, she saw him FIRST. Besides, she unfortunately had a more reasonable price. "But that's not really a deal she's offering." Nope nope nope. "She'll give you two for 7 galleons but I'm required to sell the jar for 5. Think about it Mister, you'd get 5 of 'em for 2 galleons less than what you would have paid for only two."

For once she didn't mind abiding by these sales rules. Not if it got HER the customer. "So what'd you say? You want 'em?"
