The last Charms lesson of the year has finally arrived! As you walk into the classroom today, you probably won't be surprised to find that it looks as it normally does. Normal and boring.
However, Professor Knox isn't where she usually is at the front, near her desk. In fact, she isn't even in the classroom at all. The chalkboard in front, instead of having the normal, lame message, has a GIANT smiley face drawn on it.
Have fun, kids.
OOC: Class will start in either 12 hours... or 20 hours. We'll see. Take a seat and enjoy whatever in the world is happening! Woohoo!

Why had she never been taught this spell before now? She'd had her ice-cream melt on her quite a few times in the past...oh...but it wouldn't have done her much good anyway. No magic outside of school. WELL, if she had known there was such a spell she could have asked her father to cast it for her. It doesn't help that he never volunteered with this.
And it seemed like such a simple spell too.
First things first just practising the circling around the bowl. Yeah she knew she was meant to be practising the incantation first but this was just as important and she needed to get the wrist movement right!
Circle circle circle.
Had to get it all around you know. And she might have been gawking at the ice-cream too...leaning onto her desk, doing that circle thing and giving the ice-cream dreamy looks. If this worked, she would forever carry some ice-cream around with her.
There was a pause in the circling as she took a lick of the ice-cream. Mmmm.

Was it working? Sarah hoped so. She was thirsty so she dipped her pinky into a scoop and licked it off. Yum. She made sure to do with her left hand, so she wa able to utiise her wand hand to cast a cleaning spell on her finger. It was good. she had to hold back though.
Now was meant to be time for waiting. SHe looked at her watch and marked the time... Meanwhile she would look around the classroom. Everyone seemed busy doing whatever they were up to.
Now there was time for her mind to wander, so Sarah began to plot her latest novel in her mind.

Ivy then turned around and wrote the incantation on the board behind her.
Conglacio con-glay-see-oh
"Now, let's talk about how this charm works. What you will do is; take your wand, say the incantation, and circle your wand around the object you wish to stay cold." Ivy demonstrated as she spoke, drawing a circle around the bowl of ice cream on the cart in front of her. "The charm will identify the current temperature of the food of object and keep it at that exact temperature until you lift the charm or eat it! Easy as pie!" Ohhh, pie sounded good, too...
Ivy clapped her hands together. "So, here's what I want you to do: Practice saying the incantation without your wand. You can do it with a friend to make sure you've got it right. Then, use the charm on your bowl of ice cream. You won't know if it worked for at least five or ten minutes when you'll see if it has started to melt or not. Get to it! And come get some more ice cream while you're waitiiiiiiing!!!"
So... he had completely missed what the Charms Lady had said about Glacius. And before he knew it, people were answering and... Alec was a tiny bit lost. Shrugging, he picked up his quill and jotted a couple of note down on his parchment before looking back at his bowl of ice cream. It looked so delicious and yummy and... and...
Huh?
His head snapped up and he looked up at the incantation on the board. Oh! New spell! And a very important spell too! This would be very useful for the next time he was going to have ice cream whilst studying or something. Dotting off his sentence, the boy placed his quill down, shoved his parchment and books to one side and brought the bowl of ice cream closer to him, a very wide grin spread across his face.
But first... he had to... practice saying it, right? Con-glay-see-oh... con-glay-see-oh... con-glay-see-oh... "Con... glay... see... oh... con... glay... see... oh..." This... sounded a little similar to Glacius. Just a little. "Con-glay-see-oh... con-glay-see-oh..." ... Concentrate...
"Conglacio!" GRIN. "Conglacio!" Having ice cream around really did help. Nodnod.

OKAY! Wand movement gotten...heh, kinda gotten a while back but she liked looking at her ice-cream and licking it so she could go on circling all day. She wouldn't though or the spell would never be cast and she would have melted ice-cream before she knew it. Time to practice the incantation.
"Conglacio...con-gla-cio...Con-glay-see-ohhhh"
If she was thinking about it honestly...this was a pretty incantation. It had such a nice ring to it. She could just go around saying it for the sake of saying it. When she got home she would yell it at Amanda and watch the woman jump right out of her skin in fright. That would be HILARIOUS and no laws broken because she wouldn't actually cast it. Hehehe.
"Con-glay-see-ohhhh."
And who was the genius who thought this up? She needed to shake his hands...unless he was dead...then maybe she'd just give his grave a polite nod.
"Conglacio."

Conglacio...
This spell was officially in Daichi's awesome list. Who didn't want to even ice cream that did not melt down so quickly?! He was sure he was going to use that spell frequently. When he had first entered the classroom he had been cautious as to not loose any house points since that had been the first thing that had happened previously. But when he found the ice cream he couldn't help his not so manly squeal.
Lessons this year were AMAZING~ He didn't even think about all that cleaning stuff.
"Con glay see oh" The Prefect practised the incantation out loud. "Con glay si oh" no wait... see not si..."Con glay see oh ...Conglacio...Conglacio"

A new charm! This was exciting stuff. Ella listened carefully to Professor Knox explain what they were meant to do, scribbling down notes now and then so she could practice on her own later. BEAM! Sophie would practice with her too, yeah? YEAH!
This was also an awesome spell to know cause if she decided to have an ice cream picnic with Alec, they could be sure it wouldn't melt! How brilliant was that?
Practice time. Ella placed her wand down and decided to work on the incantation first. "Con-glay-see-oh...con-glay-see-oh...con-glay-see-oh... con-glay-see-oh!" There, not too hard to say. Now to put it all together. "Conglacio...Conglacio...Conglacio!"
The wand movement was pretty simple too. She'd just need to circle her wand around the object she wanted to keep cold which was ice cream, obviously!
Okay… she was convinced that she could speak the spell correctly so she suspected that there would be no problems while trying the spell. She grabbed her wand out of her pocket and pointed her wand at the ice-cream. She made a simple circle around her bowl and spoke the spell she had practiced. “conglayseeoh” she watched her ice-cream, expecting to see something but just when she wondered if she had done something wrong she remembered that she needed to wait five minutes before she could see if her spell had worked.

Time to try it out now. This was one of those weird spells where she'd have to wait to know if it worked. Well...she had a bowl of ice-cream and a whole carton of it too...cast on both, eat one while she waits on the other, brilliant!!!
Lex shoved off her desk and pointed her wand at the bowl, getting ready to start the circling. It was funny but the bowl looked like it had significantly less ice-cream in it. When she first got it the ice-cream was dangerously close to toppling over. Now it was only moderately so.
Blink.
That was disappointing. GOOD THING SHE STILL HAD THE CARTON FULL!!! "Conglacio!"Circle circle circle. For now she'd assume it worked so on to the carton.
"Conglacio." And more circle movements to go with it. Surely she must have gotten the spell right at least one of the times. Ahem. Now to wait. She sat in her seat and began helping herself to the rest of the bowl while she watched the carton for any signs of melting. If it worked, she'd help herself to that one next.

Pfffff…. She was already annoyed and now she started to feel also bored! This was really not her day and she hoped that the other lessons were better, or more important, she hoped that the other lessons weren’t about ice-cream or related to ice-cream! She laid her head on her hands and stared at the bowl with ice-cream. She stared and stared… THIS WAS REALLY BORING! The second year old blinked a few times to keep her eyes open and watched every few seconds if it was already time to test if her spell had worked…

Ella was totally not staring longingly at her ice cream. Nope. Just like she totally wasn't going from staring at her ice cream to staring at Alec. Yeah, she wasn't doing that either. There was a whole lot of not going on over where Ella was seated.
The blonde shook her head as if to clear it and then tried to focus, ignoring her tummy which was screaming for ice cream. GAH. She wanted to eat it righttttt nowwwwww. Le sigh.
Speaking of the glorious stuff, it was time to try and keep it cold! Ella glanced down at her notes quickly and then picked up her wand. "Conglacio!" The blonde then circled her wand around her bowl and BEAMED! ...Did it work?

So incantation practised and... wait... did he have to practice the wand movement? It... seemed pretty simple. Just a circle around the bowl, yeah? He picked up his wand and circled the bowl with his wand a couple of times. Just... in case.
Right... now... spell time! GRIN GRIN GRIN.
He held up his wand and took a deep breath. It was going to work, yeah? The last thing he wanted was to, you know, blow up the ice cream or something. That would be a waste of the deliciousness that was the best dessert ever. Though, it didn't sound too hard and it certainly didn't sound like one of those spells you needed a lot of courage to cast properly.
He cleared his throat, his wand pointed at his bowl of ice cream. "Conglacio!"Circle... circle... circle... ... Blink. Had it worked? Or had he ruined the ice cream? How were you meant to tell?
But more importantly... could he go and get more ice cream while he waited?
A path is not simply for walking, its purpose lies in moving forward and improving oneself.
After practising the incantation for a moment, Daichi grabbed his wand and held it in his hand. He looked around the classroom to look at the other students because he had accidentally forgotten which way he had to make the circle. Clock-wise or Counter clock-wise?
It seemed that everyone was doing a clockwise turn and that was exactly what Daichi was going to do as well. No point in ruining perfectly good ice cream if he could eat it later right?
He pointed his wand at the bowl of ice cream that stood on the surface of his personal desk and circled his wand. "Conglacio" he said and continued to circle circle circle around.
Now he should wait right? meeep he hoped it had worked!
Yeah I broke that mirror, so what? ll NOT backward ll Official Gryfferin ll Lemon's favourite
How much time had gone by? She wasn't even sure anymore. All around her people were practising the spell or waiting as well but that wasn't a very good measure of time. Hopefully she was almost done waiting because she was down to her last few spoons of ice-cream and once this was done she would move on to the other ice-cream whether it started melting or not.
This was good though.
It had to be because so far it looked the same. No melting, no nothing. Weeeeird--oh but this meant it was working, right???
She continued staring at the ice-cream while devouring the other. You know, she was beginning to think that just maybe, she should have taken two cartons of ice-cream to go with her bowl. Then she could eat the second while she continued to wait.
How long until she was legit allowed to get impatient and just eat it??

Okay, the more ice cream thing was happening. Yep. He turned his attention towards the blonde girl sitting next to him who... well... was she already looking at him or...? Eh, shrug. It didn't matter. "Hey, look after my ice cream, yeah?" he said in an almost sing-song voice. He GRINNED WIDELY at her before getting up and heading over towards the front. Ice cream. MORE AND MORE AND MORE ice cream!
The Hufflepuff grabbed two bowls this time, filled them up with a couple of scoops of ice cream in each and headed back towards his desk. "MORE ice cream!" he said, setting one of the new bowls down in front of the blonde and taking a seat. He set his own bowl down before glancing down at his watch. Okay. There was still time.
Yes! The time was over! Sonea looked one last time at her hello kitty watch and nodded to herself, yes, she had waited long enough and now it was time to see if her spell had worked! She wasn’t afraid that it hasn’t worked, no, she knew that she had become better in using spells and charms during her second year and this spell seemed really easy…
Sitting upright behind her chair she pricked with her finger INSIDE the ice-cream, or at last, she tried to prink inside the ice-cream.
But her finger bumped against the hard and solid frozen ice-cream! It had worked! Sonea smiled and looked really proud now that her spell had worked. But… she didn’t wanted to eat the ice-cream, even now that her spell had worked, she started to HATE ice-cream now that almost every student at Hogwarts seemed to be CRAZY about it… And the students weren’t the only ones who had become crazy, the teachers were also abnormally obsessed and Sonea started to wonder if they had always been so strange…

Well, it seemed like perhaps Cat was alone in her thought about ice cream popsicles, which was fine with her cause it meant she wouldn't have to share them with anyone else. Except she totally would, in the end. She was used to sharing. After the Professor was done talking (and being weird) for the moment, she blocked out everyone else and their weird jabber and mixed up her ice cream so that it was all swirly and pretty looking.
There, much better than ugly lumps.
Now then, time to do some pondering. Caterina folded her fingers together and thought about the incantation. "Con-glay-see-oh." Not so hard, really. "Conglacioooooooooooo." Not too many o's even though that did make it more fun to say. "Conglacio." Perfecto.
elephant-astic•wanderlust•stay in the ninedaaays the original Taco Belle•look at the flowers✿
Waitingggggg....waitingggggg....Ella was waitinggggggggggg.
And while she waited, the blonde decided to do what she did best. She did some serious doodling. First she made Alec riding on a unicorn. She shaded the unicorn in with her quill and worked on Alec's hair for a bit, wanting to do it justice. Next she drew an ice cream castle where Alec lived, of course. Where the heck else would he live? The tops of the ice cream castle were decorated with an assortment of sweets like gummy worms and chocolate frogs too. Then she made some snitches flying around in the air near the castle because really, that seemed legit. Oh and a puppy! He'd want one of those, yeah? The blonde doodled a little puppy riding on a mini!unicorn right beside the boy and she BEAMED at her work. BEAMY!BEAM. Oh and she'd watch his ice cream! Nod.nod. Course she would! She saluted as she watched him go and continued shading.
Drawing done, the blonde slid it over to her boyfriend and GRINNED at him. You're welcome for that, Summers. "Thanks for the ice cream!"
And...had her spell worked? She was eyeing the ice cream curiously and she was SO hungry. All she wanted to do was eat her ice cream. Bounce. Bounce. Bounce. Iceeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Creeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaammmmmmm.

Alrighty, time to move on. Cat didn't want to waste any time and possibly let her ice cream melt before she even had a chance to use the charm, that would be pretty dumb, really. She thought about glancing about to see if anyone had successfully attempted it yet, but well, it was still a little early to tell, so she just went ahead and did it herself.
She twirled her wand for a moment before she continued, "Conglacio!" Circle the bowl... arouuunddd the bowl, get that ice cream, charm, get it. There.
Alright, so now it was time for waiting. She could do that, yes?
Sophie was still finding it all weird and was glad to see that a couple of other kids were looking as suspicious about all this as she was. And look, they weren't even eating the ice cream! That was a good idea...
The fifth year eeeeeeyed the ice cream in front of her and finally got her wand again. She had done enough of mouthing 'Conglacio' over and over without really paying attention to it. Time for the actual spell then, she supposed.
She shook her head and frowned slightly, trying to ignore the strangeness of some students. Sophie did the circle around the bowl with her wand and said the incantation. She didn't try to cast it nonverbally this time because she was almost sure she wouldn't be able to concentrate enough this time.

HE GOT A GIFT, HE GOT A GIFT!
... Blink. Moving on...
"Thanks!" he chirped, grinning widely at the Captain, "And anytime!" For the ice cream, that is. But now onto the gift. He set his bowl down and held up the drawing, the grin on his face spreading wider and wider the more he looked at it. How AWESOME was this? "Thanks, you!" he said, wrapping his arms around the girl and giving her a BIG hug, "I love it and I'm keeping it, okay?"
... He... was forgetting something.
... OH ICE CREAM.
Letting go, he grinned some more and looked down at the ice cream. So far... it looked about the same. And that meant that it was working, yeah? He cupped the bottom of the bowl, feeling that it was just as cold as before. Kind of. This was a GOOD sign! A VERY good sign! It was probably a shame that he couldn't use this spell over the summer, though, because of the whole underage thing. But... come September and he'd be able to do magic at home! No more ice cream soups! ... Unless he wanted some.
Grinning widely, the boy grabbed his newer bowl of ice cream and continued eating away. Then he could make a start on the super cold one and hopefully not get a brain freeze.
Also, did Knox know that this was an awesome lesson that she had planned out? Because it was. REALLY awesome!
elephant-astic•wanderlust•stay in the ninedaaays the original Taco Belle•look at the flowers✿
"Welcomeeee!" Ella said in a sing-song voice, taking a bite of her new bowl of ice cream, the one she'd worked on still sitting untouched in front of her. Was it still cold or? Nom.Nom.Nom.
The blonde stopped eating just long enough to watch Alec's reaction to her doodle. N'awww! He was smiling REALLY big! That meant he didn't think it was silly, yeah? The blonde BEAMED back at him sheepisly and returned the hug, totally forgetting this was class and hugs were probably not allowed but... HUGS and ICE CREAM and ALEC! How could she say no to that? "I'm really, really, reallyyyyyy glad you like it." She said in a cheerful tone, nudging him gently before sitting back in her chair again. OH! And it was probably time to check on her ice cream!
The sixteen year old pushed her new bowl of ice cream she'd been eating aside for the moment and pulled forward the old bowl, the one she'd performed the spell on. The ice cream still looked about the same but she couldn't really be sure just yet. Picking the bowl up in her hands, a smile spread across her face as she felt that the temperature didn't appear to have changed. GRIN! The last step was to do a taste test, obviously. She dipped her finger into the bowl and scooped up some ice cream, happy to see it was still cold and creamy and the perfect consistency! MMMMM!
Deciding she'd done a good job, the blonde pushed aside the old bowl and pulled forward the bowl full of ice cream that Alec had got for her. She smiled to herself before digging in again.

It was not a good idea to stare at her ice cream, really, it was not. Staring at it was only going to make the time crawl by and would also be entirely boring.
Cat blinked a few times and glanced at Alice, who was next to her with a LOT of bowls of ice cream. "This would be more fun if the charm had the word 'spritz' in it somewhere." Sad, really, every spell and charm and potion ever should include 'spritz' in it, that was just fun. But fine, whatever. She'd deal.
"Are you going to do that to ALL of those bowls?" She wondered, tilting her head.
Sarah looked at her watch again. It was time to test whether the spell worked!
It would be a great experiment as she got to eat the ice cream.
Who needed spoons? Sarah stucck her tongue out and licked the chocolate part... PEEERFECT! It was soft, yet not too soft, solid yet not too solid. The best was the tempreture, as it did not give her a tooth freeze. lick..lick..lick. This experiment was fun.
The best part of it all was the fact that it had not melted. All the different flabours remained confined to their scoop, seperated from the others. Sarah would not have liked it if her chocolate seeped into her strawberry. One could not mix too good flavours. Lick..lick..lick. Wait. she had some on her chin. Out came the tongue and it wiped off the icecream on the chin before curling up into her mouth. YUM

Giving her a small smile, he watched her as she pronounced the incantation. "Sounds good to me," he nodded and gave a little shrug. She seemed to have the words down.. Would the spell work as easily? He guessed it was about time they found out.. too bad it had to be the dumb ice cream they were working with though. "Um, I think so.." he said in regards to her question as he looked down at his notes and pulled out his wand.
"Yes.. just circle it over the bowl," he said, still trying to manage a smile at her as he looked back up. "Alright.. let's see if this works.." Ethan waved his wand in a circle over his bowl of ice cream while commanding, "Conglacio." He peered at it distastefully for a moment, wondering if the spell worked. He supposed he'd have to wait to really see.. but he was not taste-testing it.
"I guess that's it," he said with a shrug, turning back to Minerva. "Seems easy enough.. Give it a go?" He turned to her a bit more fully to watch her attempt.
Oh... was he looking at her weird or was she just to aware of his feelings towards what she liked to eat. Hmm she wasn't sure, but she fidgeted in her seat a bit. As he said she was correct on the wand movement she watched as he pulled out his wand and did the spell. He was so good with his wand whether he liked to know it or not.
"Yes it looks pretty easy." She smiled really big at him nudging him a bit. See this can be fun keeper boy... Everything is fun.. She turned to her ice cream and was about to put her finger in it again when she felt eyes on her.. Oh yes no ice cream at least not right now.. She fought the urge to eat it and pulled her wand. Clearing her throat and trying to push away the need to eat what was in front of her she circled the bowl. "Conglacio"
"So now we wait... how long again?" She looked at Ethan .. Why wasn't she sure of any of this.. She always knew what was going on, but right now all she wanted was that chocolate goodness in front of her.
He nodded as the professor spoke, it was all making since to him. Or, at least he thought it was.
Now on to the assignment. New spells were his favorite. New words to say, new movements of the wand, never knowing for sure what will happen...
"Conglacio" he commanded, just holding his wandless hand out over the ice cream bowl and making a circular motion. "Conglacio" he said again, practicing for a second time.
He was getting antsy to try it out for real, but felt the need to take a few bites of his creamy goodness before continuing.
