Anya was busy staring at Mo's hair when ice cream was mentioned. Awesome Professor say what? ICE CREAM! "I want ice cream!" she said holding her hand so high she was nearly standing up. She was so preoccupied with the thought of ice cream she hadn't even noticed that Mo had swatted her now raised hand away. "OH! And I volunteer to take Dylan's." Just saying. |
Wait?! Was their Mr. Flamey asking them if they wanted ice cream? Actually?! Lexi loved ice cream. After all who didn't and now Mr. Flamey...their professor was asking if anyone wanted ice cream. SQUEE! Of course she wanted it. She almost wanted to bounce up and down in excitement. In fact she was starting to bounce in her seat. "Professor...PROFESSOR!!!!! I want some ICE CREAM!!!!! PLEASE!" Yep. That was her reaction and she didn't care if she was on the verge of screaming. It was ice cream!!!! |
Oh hi there Alice Palace. Cat grinned, so lucky was she that she got to sit next to Alice, right? She should thank her lucky stars and such. She waved at the Gryffindor and snickered at the thought of flying shoes hitting someone over the head when the Professor spoke. ...Ice cream? Really? Well heck, who was going to turn that down? "I think this is a fabulous idea, you should definitely roll with it." That was her way of saying YES to ice cream. |
Text Cut: Befooore professor went crazy 'bout ice cream =P ASHER!! Sophie turned her head to face the professor when said man yelled and asked them if they wanted ice cream. Chuckling, she looked for Ella and Alec, knowing way too well that them, along some other friends of hers, would gladly accept some. Sophie herself didn't care much about sweets, to be honest, but she didn't mind having some ice cream if everyone else was too. The brunette let out another chuckle and shurgged her shoulders. "Sounds like it's going to be a fun lesson!" She told Asher with another smile. |

The not Hufflepuff squirmed in his seat as Professor Space Man said the lesson was starting. Hopefully they would be doing more exciting things. Except, it looked like they were in trouble. What did they do? Ice cream? "UGH" Kaiden groaned loudly. Why was everyone eating ice cream? |
WHAT DID PROFESSOR AIREY JUST SAY?!?!?!?!?!! Not no, but hell no! But all she could do was watch in absolute horror as she was proven correct about the ice cream. Because there was no denying that there was up with the frozen treat now. At least she wasn't the only one not going crazy over the stuff as Dylan was refusing the offer too. "None for me, thanks." And joining her house's captain in his eyeing now. |
SPOILER!!: Le crazy Astronomy Professor Nerida grinned a sheepish smile..."Of course..Just shocking to see you without them?" Yeah good comeback. She had skimmed the announcement really. But luckily for her she had worn comfortable shoes. She looked over at the Professor as he started the class. Ice Cream was big this year. It was a good thing she loved ice cream. "I do!!" |
Of course Peyton had seen the announcement, but it didn't mean that the man couldn't match his clothes. He could have worn... Oh dear Merlin. She was becoming her sisters. Well, that wasn't good. Nope, nope. She shook her head and hugged her messenger bag instead. She's grown fond of the bag. At Airey's comment Peyton glanced down at her feet. Comfy shoes, check. And they matched... Not that it mattered. Ahem. WAIT. HOLD UP. WHAT THIS REALLY HAPPENING?! :whaa: Peyton's arm shot up into the air so fast that it was lucky no troll was near or it would have gotten a nice slap in the face. "Meeeeee! I doooooo." OH MERLIN. A professor was offering ice cream. "Pleeease!" INNER FLAIL. |
SPOILER!!: GASP! No ice cream?! Airey paused as he looked at those who had either said no politely, rudely, or just said nothing at all. WHAT WAS WRONG WITH THESE STUDENTS!? HOW COULD YOU NOT WANT ICE CREAM?! Dark wizards who had been polyjuiced perhaps? They were blowing their cover. Majorly. Either that or these were students who had traveled from another dimension through a wormhole and...oh wait. That was in the science fiction novel he was reading. Har har imagination getting away with him again. Never mind. "Pity," he said with a sad frown. 50 points from all your houses for making your professor sad. And the ice cream. Poor ice cream. Just kidding though. No points are being taken.. SPOILER!!: YES YES YOU ALL ROCK OUR SOCKS! "HOLY COMETS ME TOO!" he exclaimed, complete with some mild arm flapping. "Pity I have a no food or drink policy. MOVING ON NOW!" And that was the end of that ice cream discussion. He was just curious who else felt like having some because he was practically drooling at the mouth right now. Oh, but someone had asked him about his favorite ice cream. "My favorite flavor would have to be Lunar Cheesecake. The muggle ice cream company Baskin Robins introduced the flavor to commemorate landing on the moon by Apollo 11." True story. "Last lesson we discussed Polaris, which sadly has little to do with ice cream other than there SHOULD be an ice cream flavor named after the star." Hmmm...he had thoughts about this. "More importantly, ish, we discussed how Polaris, our current North Star, remains stationary in the night sky and all other stars and celestial bodies rotate around it. This is due to the earth's spin and Polaris' location being very close to the north celestial pole of the earth's axis. This makes it the ideal point of reference for navigational purposes." And that about got them caught up. "We will continue our discussion of Polaris a bit more this lesson along with a sort of field trip." Just not to the kitchens. He wasn't really sure that the activity counted as a field trip, but they WOULD be out of the classroom, so close enough. Tapping his wand on the blackboard, the professor removed the Disillusionment Charm he had placed on a portrait. "Now, can anyone tell me who this gentleman is?" OOC: this lesson will continue about 20 hours from now. Have your student try to guess who this is. It is perfectly alright to guess the wrong name as correct answers aren't the only ones to receive credit ;) |
No ice cream? Alice tried not to look too crestfallen. Also, what in the name of Merlin was Lunar Cheesecake? "I know who the guy is, professor!" Her hand was raised, and she waved it about for good measure before answering, too. Just in case Aireyhead was still thinking about ice cream- ice cream!!- and didn't see her. "An astronomer." .. well, obviously. Did they even talk about anything else in here? But she wasn't going to say his name, because he hadn't specifically asked for a NAME. .. also, because she didn't know. |
Well then... That was rather anticlimactic. There was asking about ice-cream--she was bouncing, COULDN'T HE TELL?? But...no ice-cream. What even? Alexa deadpanned at the Professor as she slowly re-took her seat. If that was meant to be a joke, it wasn't very funny. In fact it left her thinking about nothing but the ice-cream that she would never have. How good it would have tasted, the possible flavours it might have been, the variety of toppings that might have been present, how many scoops they would each get. She didn't want to hear about Polaris, the bloody thing wasn't edible. Nothing in the sky was edible and cold. There were no sprinkles up there in the great, dark blue sky...none she could put on her sundae. Beautiful sundae... What's this? Who was that man? She could tell you who he wasn't; a bowl of ice-cream. More deadpan looks. "I don't think I've ever seen him before Professor." Came her almost inaudible response. The betrayal was still fresh you see. How could you do this to us, Airey???? |
Tag had absolutely no clue who that man was. An he was no genius and did not have a answer off the top of his hand, like some people did. So he merely made a comment about this man " Professor he looks like he could be some guy involved in politics. They all look and dress funny with those weird ruffled collared blouses. But, I'd say he's a political astronomer!?" If that was even a possible occupation. Tag held back a quiet laughing fit. No he'd not burst out of laughter from his answer. What was the point in lying his answer? |
NO. WAY. WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?! She could cry right here, Airey, but she wouldn't because that was ridiculous. Seriously, though, her jaw entirely fell when he said they weren't gonna get ice cream, like, why bother with the offer, eh??? Precisely. That was rather mean of you, AND NEW. She got new ones because *clears throat* detention. Yellow paint. One drop on her shoes. So, new ones. ANYWAY. Regardless of the utter annoyance she felt over not getting the ice cream, and...how much she didn't care about Lunar Cheesecake (she would've under different circumstances), Lottie didn't feel like answering. She even had her arms crossed and everything, but...SIGH...this was Airey, so, she'll answer. "A scientist of sorts." Hand was raised, yes, and now was put down. THAT is the only answer he'll get. For now. |
Whew. She had avoided complete disaster there. Because there was no telling what these ice cream crazed lunatics were capable of. But her wand was at the ready, just in case. Right there at the very end of her sleeve, ready to slide into hand at a moments notice. And onto something actually related to Astronomy now. "That's Galileo." At least, she was pretty sure that's who it was. |
Marigold was still thinking about ICE CREAM when Professor asked the question. "He definitely looks familiar... either a scientist or an astronomer?" she said. OOoh, Lunar Cheesecake sounds yummy! |
Thankfully no one was going to eat ice-cream. Really. Forrest didn't understand the craze at all. He was MARRED for the rest of his life about ice-creams. Back to the class. He got that intent look back and his eyes bore into the man. Would it make him comfortable? The thought didn't even occur to little Hufflepuff, he just didn't want to miss a word or action of Professor Flamsteed, so... intent hazel eyes following him, and a mouth on edge to answer any question quickly. Except, Prof was asking all the wrong questions today. His eyes flickered to the portrait and he frowned at it. He didn't know who he was. Was he in the book? He could name two muggle astronomers, but he doubted the portrait reflected any of them. Hmm... His hand rose in the air tentatively. "Copernicus." He was wrong, but he tried nevertheless to say something. |
Dylan took one look at Professor Flamsteed's crestfallen expression and sighed. "I apologize, sir."...but he still wasn't eating the ice cream...Wait. Was Beezy Weezy around? He gave covert looks to his peers and immediate surroundings ...She'd be so very disappointed in him if she heard that...Ahem. Either way... ...and then there was a recap. Awesome. ...and then a picture was revealed. SMIRK. Seriously? Did no one know? Well, Dylan knew. He knew because just like at that seminar...he WAS terribly smart...and generally smarter than most of them. Thank YOU very much. "William Herschel, sir. He discovered Uranus, Oberon and Titania..."...and he knew THAT because his baby brother's middle name was Oberon...AND they'd talked about this guy last term, hadn't they? The Slytherin seemed to remember him from Burbage's class, too... |
YAY! ICE CREEEAAAAMMMMMWWWhat?! NO ICE CREAM. Daichi scratched the Professor off of the imaginary cool people list. No ice cream is not cool. A slight pout on his lips, the Slytherin sat back down and crossed his arms over each other while listening to the question. His eyes looked at the picture in front of the class and he had the feeling he had seen that man before. Was it in a textbook or somewhere else? Well, not in real life that was for sure, hehe. Scratching the back of his head, Daichi tried to recall his name. Argh what was it again? Something with Her...Herman? no no that didn't sound right. Herschman? no..Her...Herschel? DING-DING-DING a light bulb seemed to go off in Daichi's head and he shot his hand up in the air. "That's Herschel, professor! He was an astronomer and composer!" PROUD BEAM! "And judging by that name, he sounds German" NOD NOD it was a total German name wasn't it? |
Asking Sarah if she liked ice cream was like asking her if she was a girl. It was obvious of course Quote:
|
No. Theo didn't want ice cream, so he wasn't overly bothered when the professor revealed that he didn't even have any. That was a little bit harsh to everyone else, though. He vagely listened to his summary of the last lesson, and thankfully, he still remembered most of it. As for the picture, Theo had no idea. "He looks like a judge with that hairdo." You know, how they wear those long white wigs and stuff? |
Text Cut: Airey Cassia waited till people decided who wanted ice-cream and who didn't. Now she liked ice-cream, who didn't? But she didn't feel like it now. So she did raise her hand. Though, seeing how many students wanted, she doubted that if she had wanted any, there'd still be left for her. Though, no one got ice-cream? heh. Anyway, OHLOOKIE! It was Lex. And excited wave for you lioness. Then when Professor Flamsteed started reminding them of the last lesson she was so proud that she remembered everything as well as what he hadn't mentioned. This would be helpful when it's exams time. Now, there was a picture of a man. A very old man seeing how his hair looked liked. Poor man. "Ummm.....A man with bad hair," she answered her eyes fixed on the hair. Why couldn't he fix his hair with a potion or a charm or something. Were they going to learn about hair. Maybe hair had something to do with the stars. Could be. |
No ice-cream? WHAT? She hasn’t expected this, not that she was disappointed, she only wanted to try the ice-cream because she had been very curious why everybody was so hyper about it. But what she didn’t understood was why the professor tried to make a LOT students happy about it and that he then would disappoint them… she eyed Daichi who was also sitting in the classroom and she KNEW that he loved ice-cream, what was strange, but she knew that he would be VERY disappointed. At first she had only been curious why everybody wanted to eat ice-cream, but now she was annoyed, the professor was still talking about ice-cream as if it was the most important thing ever! And he was wrong, ice-cream wasn’t important, SHE was important, her rat Little princess was important AND everything with the color pink was important, but not just some simple ice-cream! Oh NOOOO! A Field trip? She didn’t wanted that? A trip means working and walking… And… She was tired! She wanted to just sit and do her work from behind her desk! Her face darkened while she stared unbelievingly at professor Flamsteed. She really, really wished that he had made another joke and that she could stay where she was now during the whole lesson, sitting on her chair and INSIDE the classroom! But, she was lucky, for now. The professor showed a picture from… a old man? She had thought that Professor Botros, who was REALLY MEAN AND OLD had been ugly, but this man was also strange and she realized that he must be a muggle, only muggles were so stupid and ugly! And to be honest, she didn’t knew who he was, but… she tried to answer the question, even now that she KNEW that it was wrong. She raised her hand and spoke. “I think that he is just a old man who is probably already death” She eyes the clothes he wore and spoke further. “I also think that he has studied Astronomy, I’m guessing this because, well, this IS a Astronomy lesson…” |
Melanie blinked blankly at the portrait. Who was that supposed to be? Well, Melanie had no idea. She was pretty sure there were hundreds of people who looked exactly like that person in the portrait because for some really weird reason, people with white hair were more popular than people with normal colored hair. Also, people had this thing for powdered wigs or whatever - Melanie didn't understand that either. But right... the professor asked a question about who that guy was. Good question. "A famous dead person who discovered something," Melanie offered, raising her hand. Because all famous dead people who had discovered something in their life seemed to look like that. |
No Ice cream? Jory was disappointed. Ice cream and this lesson would have gone along so well together! A combination of his favourite treat and one of his favourite classes. Right now, though, the final year badger was staring at the portrait and trying not to think of ice cream. The man's portrait looked vaguely familiar but Jory couldn't quite place him. "Erm...I can't remember his name, Professor,'' he said honestly. "But it's probably an astronomer?'' |
That guy was weird and Nigel had no idea who he was. But he had read up on some interesting characters from that show Flamsteed watches. So lets go with that. "It is either Khan or The Borg Queen is disguise. You can never be too careful." It was probably some famous astronomer or someone. But where is the fun in that. |
