Ella filed into the classroom with her bag slung over her shoulder, a small smile plastered on her face. She was exhausted but doing her best to keep up with everything and also trying not to be a mope. No one liked a mope, y'know. "Hello Professor, good to see you." She greeted politely on her way past Lafay's desk. The blonde then settled into a seat in the middle of the room and pulled out some parchment and a quill. | " Captain Bishop, welcome back." She said with a nod. Quote:

Uggh, potions. In the dungeons. Theo particularly hated being in the dungeons lately, which was a darn shame since he lived there.
But he was still here.
Theo lazily dragged himself to the first potions lesson of the term, and took a seat near the back of the classroom. "Good day, Professor Lafay." Because he knew how she liked a proper greeting and things. He sat down and looked over at Ella, who was one of the first to arrive, too. He smiled at her. | " Good Day Master Kinnnnsley," She said emphasizing the pronounciation of the name... because he'd corrected her one before on it. Quote:

Nigel walked into the room. "Hello, Professor Lafay" Nigel greeted her as courteously as he could. She was looking a little agitated. But Nigel did not care to ask what was on her mind. He noticed that only Theo and Ella have arrived yet. So Nigel was still pretty early to class.
He walked on over to a free desk near both of them, sat down, and took out the materials he would need for todays lesson. | " Ahhh Master Barrington, welcome back..." She said to the boy she'd once poisoned to prove a point. Quote:

Ezra didn't really agree with the notion but he didn't want to get in trouble, even if whistling did help him cheer up his spirits a little, which were constantly threatening to hit the floor, thanks to the castle's current state. "Hello." Hello was rather informal and even too familiar so Ezra corrected his small blunder by adding, "Professor. Hello, professor." There. Better. And a little awkward, which he'd been told was sometimes charming. Ezra was not sure if he was the sort who could make awkward charming, so he tried not think about it.
He really didn't like the idea of being awkward, though, even if it could be charming. Once seated Ezra realized that despite a (minimal) growth spurt over the summer, the back of the classroom did not provide the best of the views, so after a sigh, he quickly hopped off his seat and occupied one near the middle, instead. Much better. | " Hello Master Carver," She said looking on her roster, this kid had creepy, haunting eyes... Quote:

It was just an awful lot of paying attention and following directions exactly and guessing colors.
And also, it was in the dungeons, and even though Edita lived in the dungeons, November couldn't say they were terribly comfortable. With the school in its current state, she rather expected every venture to reveal something new, really.
Entering the class, she bowed her head a little in the Professor's direction, adding a, "Hello Professor Lafay," which she knew was not overly friendly and possibly half-mumbled. It would be an utter lie to say "Good day," though after the day she'd had, and anyway, she wasn't on terribly friendly terms. She was the Professor, after all.
Spying Ezra. she hurried towards him, dropping her bag onto the desk before sliding into a seat beside him, with a smile and a quick, "Hello, there!" | " Good Day Miss Franze," She said looking at her Roster. There seemed to be many first years this term. Good. Quote:

Shrugging slightly, she made her way through the unlocked door and headed for a spot near the middle. Seeing that it was still really early and only a few other students were there, it wasn't going to be that hard to find a good spot to seat and blend into the crowd.
Approaching the middle, she glanced up to the front and smiled. "Good day, Professor Lafay." Only because she was indifferent to classes didn't mean that she was going to be impolite to her professors. It really wasn't their fault that she felt the way she did. Finding a spot, she settled in and pondered a bit waiting for the lesson to begin. | " Good day Miss Hyde." This one wasn't the annoying Hufflepuff though. Quote:

He had to be getting good marks from the exams and manage to graduate after all. Two years late or not, he was going to graduate this term somehow.
Yeah...
Carrying his school bag which was hooked on his right shoulder, he walked in the potions classroom and looked around. Not only had Professor Airey assigned homework that essentially had them cleaning the castle, but just this morning she'd thought she'd seen a mouse on her way down to the kitchens for yet another breakfast time sandwich. So, the yawn she let out and covered with her hand was excusable, hopefully. She wasn't so bold as to say 'good day' to someone who looked like they were having about as much of a good day as she was, so she settled for a polite "Hello, Professor Lafay," before finding a station and taking her seat, wondering what had become of potions with the lack of funding. | " Hello Miss Carter-Hope" She said to the girl. Like... cooking! Or at the very least it was like the science experiments he'd never been allowed to try in school... for some bizarre reason.
With a smile on his face, and almost as though he was literally BUZZING with energy (which of course he was), Tobias strode into the potions classroom along with the many other students.
As he found a seat that wasn't too close to the other students already sitting (he was annoying when forced to sit down for a long time, and wasn't sure how many people had realised that yet), Tobias took in the sight of the teacher. "Hello Mis-" Tobias broke off. No wait, they didn't seem to call the female teachers here 'miss', did they? They said 'sir' but not 'miss'. That was going to be a hard habit to break. "Err... Professor!" Yes, that was it!
He continued with his happy-go-lucky grin as he sat down and waited for the class to start, dumping his bag on the floor under the desk.
And already he was fidgeting; twiddling a spare quill around in his hands and swinging his feet slightly as a way of releasing some energy. He would pay attention all the way through the lesson today. Tobias was determined. | " Hello Master Tempus." She said frowning at the kid. Quote:

She'd already read her textbook twice through, and if she were better at memorisation, probably would have done that too.
Isobel chose a seat, not next to anybody but not very isolated either, and set down her bag. She got out her notebook, ink, and quill and began a particularly terrible doodle of a cat. She turned to survey the room to see if she knew anyone. Ahh there was Isobel! It wasn't his favourite and he wasn't exactly brilliant at this subject but it was starting to become more and more okay for him as time passed. Except, these lessons were still scary.

... RIGHT next to a certain blonde. "Hey, Ells!" ... She didn't mind, right? ... Hopefully. He gave her a smile before taking out his things. Of course, coming off of last summer, and the events that she was still not really remembering aside from the fact she’d ended up with a broken wrist and a temporarily sore leg out of it all, even the Slytherin head of house wasn’t entirely terrifying anymore. Even Professor Lafay having to deal with all the craziness about Hogwarts selling half of their stuff and all of them having to pay to do everything wasn’t as terrifying as the hole in her memory that Patrick was starting to try to explain to her.
Maybe she’d get lucky and they’d be brewing something that could help her find out what memories she was missing. Erm. Fine. She had been meaning to leave a bit earlier this time so that she wouldn’t have to run down the stairs from the seventh floor to the dungeon but ehhh. Somehow, Gwen was running a bit late. Well... not very late. But even though class probably hadn’t started, she would definitely NOT be one of the first people to arrive.
Finally arriving in front of the door to the Potions classroom, the girl made her way in. ‘Hello, Professor Lafay’, she said before heading to her usual seat. And then she just waited for class to start. | " Hello Miss Greene," She told the girl. Quote:

Jory was looking forward to Potions. It was one of the subjects he enjoyed the most. He hurried along to the classroom, afraid that he was late. He had taken a little longer than usual to get out of bed that morning.
But to the Puffer's relief when he got to the classroom, he found that students were still filing in. "Good day, Professor Lafay,'' Jory greeted the woman perched on her desk. "It's good to see you again.''
He now went off to find a seat. | " Master Stonewall, Good Day to you," She greeted. Quote:

Potions. Right. Yes. Good.
...
Except also not good, because Derry's dad wasn't particularly good at potions so her tutoring in the subject had been... iffy at best. But it was just like cooking, but more delicate and with magic, right?
...
Not that that was going to help, since the only thing Derry could really cook was shortbread and it didn't really require much of the skills potion making probably did...
Anyway, Potions. Definitely have to pay lots of attention here... Derry walked into the classroom, trying her best not to look completely nervous about the whole thing and failing terribly. "Good day, Professor." she said with a little smile, and found herself a seat somewhere in the middle of the room, getting out her parchment and quill (stupid, messy things... biros were way easier) to write notes. | " Good Day Miss Ferrier." She greeted. Quote:

...because this was Lafay they were talking about...and she was the most strict in all the land.
Making his way to his usual workstation near the back, Dylan nodded casually to his Head of House. "Professor Lafay. It's nice to see you." It was good that the woman didn't look near death anymore. These poor new kids were already getting enough of a culture shock.
Taking a seat, he prepared by getting out his notebook, ink, and quill, turning to a fresh page and titling it... | " Captain Montmorency, it is a pleasure..." she said with a nod. He better win her the championship. Quote:

Casting one last weary glance down the hallway, Carsyn sighed rather loudly in an attempt to relieve some nervous tension, and entered the Potions classroom. With her bag slug over her right shoulder, Carsyn took slow steps as she surveyed the available seats in the room. Realizing she was white-knuckling the strap to her bag, Carsyn opened her hand to flex and extend her fingers a few times, while simultaneously making her way to an empty chair in the middle of the classroom. Being inconspicous was a priority at this point, as the young Ravenclaw was much more interested in seeing, rather than being seen. And learning, rather than being learned about... | She raised her eyebrow looking at the young Ravenclaw... "I don't know about you, but when I enter someone else's room, I greet them... Then again... Those are manners." Her Slytherins had them... if they hadn't, she'd set them on fire. Quote:

Potions time.
Yeah, he was prepared for this class. Every other lesson this year he had walked in cold without knowing a SINGLE thing about his Professor. But see, THIS class was taught by his Head of House and he knew who she was. Look at Stark, being all knowledgable about things. Smirk.
And since he was all brilliant and awesome and stuff, he knew that, well, it would be better off for him if he just went about and gave her a simple greeting. 'Sides it was his Head of House. She WAS nice to look at for sure, easy on the eyes. But no need to get her all annoyed or else he'd be dealing with her ALL the time. Ugh, so just customary greetings.
Nodding his head at her with a slight smirk, he said, "Morning Professor Lafay."
Seat time. | " Good Morning Master Stark." She said thankful the Slytherin greeted her. Quote:

It wasn't a long trek from the common room to the Potions' classroom, so Peyton had taken her time getting ready. After setting her hair up in a ponytail she was ready. And skipping, she made it to her designated classroom.
Sitting down and setting her bag on her lap, she hugged it to her chest like she had in Astronomy. INNER GRIN. Turning her attention to Professor Lafay, she grinned at the woman. The professor needed more smiling to do. She looked pretty when she did. "Good day, Professor Lafay," she greeted, flashing her what seemed like a shy smile. Peyton just didn't want to get yelled or glared at for smiling. | " Miss Baltazar, Sit over here please." She pointed to the opposite side Richard Turner was on. Quote:

The first thing Mika did whens he entered the Potions classroom was stare at the fact her best friend was basically asking Mo to sit with him. That was different - but hey, she liked the idea of the two getting along possibly. She hoped they got along at least. Her bag slung over her shoulder she looked around the room for a place to sit.
Hey! Look, there was Ascanius, she'd say hi to him...cause he was cool. She was about to walk over to ask if she could sit there when she saw a lone Ravenclaw first year. Watching for a second she realized that girl looked like she wanted to be alone.
She'd attack her with love and friendship later. She just wanted a corruptible young soul to lead to the path of prankville. Because Prankville was amazing and wondrous and filled with laughs - and she rather loved laughing.
So over and took a seat at an empty table near the middle of the classroom. Yep middle was wise - the back was fine...but sometimes it meant you had eyes on you...and the front - the front was just lethal. She looked over to Ascanius and sent a quick smile. Yep she was being friendly today. Pulling out her quill, parchment, and setting up her cauldron and ingredient kits she was ready for this class. So ready. "Hello Professor Lafay! She chirped happily. What she was just happy all the time like normal. | " Hello Miss Johanson," She said. Quote:

Tying her hair back into a messy bun, Bliss scurried down towards the dungeons. Didn't want to be late, now, did she? She rather liked Potions; it's complexity always interested her greatly. Normally, she'd say a firm no to any sort of hard word - unless it was Ancient Runes - but, honestly, she enjoyed potions more than most lessons. Soooo .. yeah ..
Scurry, scurry, scurry ..
The small fourth year made it down to the classroom in record time. At least, that was the impression she'd gotten. Her eyes quickly swept over the class and she let out a breath and smiled. She wasn't late. "Good morning, Professor," she said enthusiastically, making her way inside and took her seat. Ready to learn, yep, she was. | " Good Morning Miss Ryans" She said to the girl. Quote:

Turning she saw Ethan sitting at her usual workstation and she went over to him, "Hello" she smiled and found her place next to him at the empty seat. Pulling out her things she got ready for class to start, she wondered what they would be doing noticing that there wasn't anything on the board nor Lafay didn't seem to have anything to give them any clues. | " Hello Miss Wheatborn, and Yes, I am," She said. Normally she would not call a professor by their first name, but she didn't know what last name to use for her. | " Good Morning Miss Zavang," She said looking at her Roster. " And you will address me as Professor Lafay, or Mistress Lafay."
She shut the door and locked with her wand, and then turned to the class. " Let's go over the basics... Who can tell me what a potion is and what they are for?" |
