Centered among the shops of Hogsmeade is a well enough known pub in the small village, called The Three Broomsticks. Not unlike the Hog's Head down the street in the strictest idea of pubs, drinks and the like, however it is the atmosphere that helps make the latter choice the one hailed by the mass majority. The outside of the building is a good preview of what the inside may look like with the same steep roof as the surrounding buildings, yet taller, with a sign on it's facade featuring, you guessed it, the legendary three boomsticks, all fixed around a lantern to light the patrons' way.
Once you enter the pub, smells and the warmth of the large stone fireplace great you as you place hats and coats by the door. Directly infront of you there are tables and booths lining the majority of the small hall with oil lamps placed on each one. On winter days it is usually hard to find a place beside the large fire grate but if you're early enough, only Merlin can say what will happen. To your left the bar and most likely the bartender Harold "Hops" Lagerty, await you and your order--a few stools await you to take a load off and shoot the breeze with others.
The bartender is pretty sociable to those who don't annoy him. He's seen his lot of warlocks, goblins, and Hogwarts kids to know which ones were trouble and which of those made loyal customers, so be sure not to be put on the first part of the list.
A few rules from the Shop Owner: No brawling, no shouting (angrily), no alcohol to minors, and don't go up the stairs, I live up there.
OCC Rules: No RPing for the shopkeeper and all other School RPG Rules apply.

She shrugged. "Yeah, I guess that's what I meant. I was just wondering, because you want to work in a pub, and there's music in pubs all the time." Presley imagined that you would have to have a great appreciation for good music, and a fair amount of tolerance for bad music, there was plenty of both in the pub scene.
Milton listened to Presley as she described the perks of the career she wanted. It was kind of fun seeing her get so into it. He even caught himself smiling. "I guess it takes special people to do that. You'll be great at it." Milton was obviously not one of those special people. He was okay with working in a pub.
He shrugged. "True. Luckily, I'll get to choose the music since it's my dad's place." So he wouldn't have to put up with other peoples' weird choices in music taste.

But ballet was her passion. Pres felt like they'd been talking about her for a very very long time, so she shifted the subject. "What do you do, when you're not playing Quidditch or doing homework?" she asked him. She took another swallow of the warm butterbeer. She would pay the next time they went somewhere. Since technically she shouldn't have let Milton buy this for her.
Berg had been nervous to meet Erik? That was what he liked to hear. The blonde man's smile grew a little, into a smirk you could say. He wanted to ask more about their shared....acquaintance, but had a feeling the Three Broomsticks was not the place to bring him up.
"Reynold's manager looks just as incompetent as he is," Erik waved off that anxiety. He wasn't concerned about the blind book store manager. He'd already dug the dirt on him and spread some of it too, and it had been successful, since the man had addressed it at the debate.
Erik tried not to look confused as Berg mis?used the word 'our' ... what did he mean by 'it' blew up? What was it? He had his suspicions, but when the man leaned in too...they were all confirmed.
"Not Schirmer," he shook his head but didn't elaborate. Plausible deniability? He was lucky Erik was a master of many languages, because that was as good as an American 'pleading the fifth.' "I see," he said quietly. Erik allowed a moment of silence to fall between them as he finished his firewhiskey before speaking again. "Mr. Berg, I vink we will get along very nicely this campaign season..."
He smiled again.
Bjorn was pleased to hear that Erik had managed to get a feel for Reynolds' manager, despite the busy atmosphere of the debate. "Ah yes, but looks can be deceiving. However, in general you are correct, I suppose. The people judge based on appearances, the aura a certain person gives off." And from what Bjorn had heard and read, the aura around Reynolds was off in more than one way.
"And yet, it would be prudent to focus our attentions on him. His momentum is down after the debate results today. Perhaps I should chat him up at the Ministry for the bash.. get to know him better.." Bjorn thought he had a fairly decent idea of how to rile him right before the next debate, just enough to get in his head a bit. Certainly nothing overtly dirty! No, they did not want any whisper of foul play to come back on their campaign.
Not Schirmer. But no explanation was forthcoming, and Bjorn decided not to press the matter. This was a public pub, after all. Certain things could be discussed in private for the maximum advantage. With Erik's soft reply, Bjorn smiled faintly. Yes, his candidate had understood his meaning perfectly but could still claim to know nothing. "Good to hear it, Erik! It's always best to present a united front, you know."
And speaking of which... "I had wanted to discuss your campaign platform and a possible campaign slogan. Something catchy, but not too cutesy. I despise cutesy." He knew Erik would feel the same way. With a slight pause, Bjorn continued. "However, I know that you may just want to relax after that debate. Public appearances can be wearing." Plus there was the matter of that vial that needed disposing. "So if you're not up to it, we can pick up the conversation at a later time."

"They do," Erik had to agree. He'd certainly been at the blunt end of misjudgements of his character just based on his appearance, but hopefully none of those would lead to his losing this campaign. He said nothing further about 'auras', as he wasn't sure how to address that frilly word without directly insulting Bjorn. If the man believed in them, then he believed in them. Erik would just keep his own thoughts on the subject to himself.
And people wondered why he wasn't talkative.
"That vould be appreciated," the blue-eyed man agreed for a second time. He paused as though considering something, and then leaned in again. "I vant to keep an eye on Carter, Roxanne Carter as vell. There vas something exchanged between her and Reynolds at the debate...something I didn't like but didn't hear entirely." He simply did not like seeing his competition get along so swimmingly. What if they wised up and chose to pool their resources? He couldn't have that. Just think of all the people he would have to imperius and assassinate then...too much work.
A united front was much more important. He would be utilizing this campaign manager as much as possible. Erik nodded coolly and leaned back, finishing off the last of his firewhiskey. "I don't like cutesy either, however," he was feeling the urge to go stretch his legs. "I vill think of something catchy. Let's meet later vis week somewhere." Somewhere better?
Erik passed Bjorn his card as he stood up. "Owl or phone is fine. Just don't go showing up unannounced." That would end badly for Bjorn.

"Excellent. It doesn't really suit your persona, anyways." The smart businessman and cute were not a good match. Bjorn took the card from his candidate and gave it a quick glance. "Ah, I had been meaning to visit Edinburgh for unrelated business anyways. I will send my owl with a selection of possible meeting times."
He stood and held out his hand to Erik. "This has been quite profitable, I believe. I look forward to working with you!" And against the others.
The meeting adjourned, he set off toward the exit of the pub.

Erik shook his manager's hand firmly. "I agree. Nice meeting you today. And vanks for the help..." so far. He smiled and dropped a tip on their table as Bjorn was leaving. Had to leave something for Hops, since he could be his future co-Governor one day.
Then he too exited the pub, disapparating as usual once he was outside its door.

It was hard to choose the right table, especially since it was still early yet and the Broomsticks was uncrowded. If there had been a crowd, then Vivi would have been able to just squeeze into whichever table was unavailable. Now, however, she had to think about which way she wanted to face and how close she wanted to sit to her tablemates and how creepy the guy with the teeth was who was looking at her just now.
Or maybe she was just thinking about tables so she didn't have to stress about why Louisa wanted to see her with Lex today. That was weird, right? It was really weird.
Vivi finally found a table in the corner and put her back to the wall so no one could sneak up on her. Perfect. Now... hopefully Lex showed up so Vivi wasn't alone with Louisa for too long.

Agreeing to go out with a twelve year old and an EX-roomie/friend was one of the many steps Louisa needed to take in order to fill that new year's list. It was not a surprise that Vivi wanted her to come, the blonde bore her good intentions wherever she went and was too polite and Gryffindorish to cut an ex-friend out completely. So, okay, they would go out, be civil, cheer the nagging Lexa up, and then go home. That was the Ravenclaw's plan as she pushed open the door and stepped inside the familiar, cozy inn. Her eyes roamed the place slowly, hoping Vivi would be the one to have arrived here first.
Voila! She should've hoped for a million Galleon. Louisa took off her coat and headed toward her companion with a fake bright smile on her face, "Hi!" IT WORKED! It actually worked! Against everything that made logical sense in this world BOTH Vivi AND Louisa had seen her tiny, little, insignificant, probably wouldn't matter anyway, white lie. That's all it was anyway and what did it matter why she asked them to come here. By now they must have fixed whatever was wrong so there was nothing to worry about and they'd be happy today and for once since she came back to school things would seem normal. That's all she wanted.
She bounded into the Three Broomsticks, determined to not let anything bring her down. She wasn't allowed candy anymore but Lottie had given her some so her sugar was at a good level and she'd be able to focus on her Mama Vivi and Louisa.
Ooooo, lookit! They were already there!
She skipped over to the table they had chosen with a wide grin spread across her face. "HAI!!!!" Then there was more grinning as she latched onto Louisa and gave her a hug before plopping down into the seat right next to Vivi and giving her a good snug. "I would have been here sooner but I was gawking at the candy shop." You know, the one she couldn't walk inside anymore? That one. "Soooooo..." because this wasn't some kind of awkward meeting, "were you guys talking about anything interesting while I wasn't here?"

She looked more than well, and more beautiful than Louisa would have appreciated with that dark red dress making her look even blonder. It wasn't jealousy, it was... she didn't know anymore, hmph. When everyone settled down, and thankfully Lex chose Vivi to snuggle next to, Louisa crossed her legs under the table and managed to smile more easily at them both. It wasn't completely fake this time. "You're supposed to be on candy probation, gawking at the candy shop is like torturing yourself." Vivi answered the other part.

Lex was MUCH too happy to notice the slight hesitation when Louisa patted her back, she just figured she might have been hugging her too tight and as that was the case she ignored it completely because she knew that the older girl LOVED her affection. Mhmm, very true. Plus, she was kinda busy being snuggled by Vivi to notice very much, including how awkward the two seemed to be behaving. In her mind everyone was happy to be here today even if they were tricked into it Ahem. What?
Oh and she wasn't late! See? She could have gone gawking at the candy shop for a bit more. She would have too...but then she saw someone walk out with a newly bought chocolate frog and her heart broke faster than she thought it would have.
"It's not really torture," Just to correct Louisa because there was nothing wrong with looking at candy once you had some in your pocket, the trouble came with not being able to buy more, "I like seeing candy, it puts me in a good mood and I'm hardly in one of those these days. I WANT my bag of candy back." And some galleons too. Those would be nice, otherwise she wouldn't be able to buy herself that bag full of candy--WAIT. She eyed the girl suspiciously then slowly a wide--extra wide, kinda like she'd just ingested tonnes more sugar wide--grin came across her face. "YOU promised me you'd buy me ALL the candy I wanted when we meet up." Her eyes grew sparkly at the idea of heading to the candy shop. "I want it, today."

And now that that was sorted out and she WOULD be getting her candy take that Healer Tillstorm she could focus on Vivi and...that stuff...that other unimportant stuff. Hmmm...where to start...?
"School's dreadfully boring, I suck at Quidditch, I dislike more than 3/4 of the male population at the school--bloody idiots all have a defective brain--can't stand the homework, it's too much and I killed my star, which wasn't really my fault you know, Jeffery was an accident. I'm tired of having to talk to some of the people at school too because they're boring and they aren't you or Louisa, no one snugglies me anymore and that bites, I don't get candy--YOU KNOW DADDY SENT ME A HOWLER!!! He DID! Then he made the Healer take my candy and tell me I can't have anymore!!!" Yes she was expecting sympathy and hoping Vivi would also buy her candy, just saying, "So now I have to depend on others who might feel like giving me candy and that just CAN'T work!" Was she rambling? She felt like she was rambling...Meh. Onto Mo.
"As for your brother, I was hoping when you said you had a gift for me it would have been a cousin. I don't mind those you know, I have a few and they're nice. Vivi couldn't have been more relieved that Lex was there, especially when she wasn't asking hard questions and increasing the level of awkward. Louisa's smile was a little too tight, and her tone was undeniably condescending. If Vivi didn't feel so guilty herself, she might have taken exception to the tone, but as it was... she deserved worse. Much worse.
"Candy probation? That sounds pretty serious. I'll have to start sending other gifts to you at school instead of chocolate frogs." Vivi had been well concerned with Lex's sugar intake previously, and now this just supported that theory. If her father and the Healer said less sugar, Vivi wasn't going to work directly against them.
"You're awfully... unhappy in general. School doesn't have to be boring, and you can't possibly suck at Quidditch since I heard you made the team. And boys will always be idiots, so you might as well get used to the idea." As for homework... it was a necessary evil, and there was no points trying to talk Lex into believing otherwise.
But Mo... hm. "You don't want someone other than Mo. I promise. My cousin Colby is socially awkward, and my Branxton cousins are older. Plus West is a cousin... I think you've had enough of West. Louisa was friendly too... in her own way. She DID roll her eyes at certain points, and was very grateful that Vivi did the guiding part. "Honestly, I think you're being too co-dependent on others, Lex. Don't wait for anyone to make that boring place a fun. Who cares if people are annoying in there? You can always replace their soaps with frog-spawn ones, or mince some hiccuping sweets into their breakfast, or I dunno. Stop complaining is what I mean." She raised an eyebrow at the pathetic attempt at humour. It didn't even warrant a half smile so she simply scowled. It had been WEEKS okay so a week and two days since she devoured an entire bag of candy, now she was getting her hopes up for the candy shopping spree and all Louisa chose to give her was a small bonbon. No. Just now. The scowl prevailed. "Not looking at the candy will make me even more mad and that is NOT what we agreed on so you will be breaking your promise. I want to be taken to the candy store where I can have any and everything on the shelves." Oh but while they were on this promise thing. She turned to each girl with a curious look before asking Louisa. "Why were you looking at Vivi like that just now? Did she break a promise? If it's a candy promise then I apologize but she can only commit her candy to me, so..." Just forget about it and move on?
She nodded at what her Mama Vivi said next. "I am, very much I am. It's just not the same anymore and I made the team on luck. Pure luck and nothing else." She was sure of it, especially after the last game.
"And I don't mind socially awkward people--West is your cousin????" Ew. "On second thought...send me a puppy." That could work too. "A girl puppy." Because now she needed to be specific seeing as Vivi just said all boys were idiots. Something that was rather common knowledge but it just became a FACT the moment Vivi said it.
Then Louisa went saying more things that made her frown. "I am not. I do what I can and get in trouble for it. Just about everything fun is against the bloody rules."
