| | The Three Broomsticks The Three Broomsticks Centered among the shops of Hogsmeade is a well enough known pub in the small village, called The Three Broomsticks. Not unlike the Hog's Head down the street in the strictest idea of pubs, drinks and the like, however it is the atmosphere that helps make the latter choice the one hailed by the mass majority. The outside of the building is a good preview of what the inside may look like with the same steep roof as the surrounding buildings, yet taller, with a sign on it's facade featuring, you guessed it, the legendary three boomsticks, all fixed around a lantern to light the patrons' way.
Once you enter the pub, smells and the warmth of the large stone fireplace great you as you place hats and coats by the door. Directly infront of you there are tables and booths lining the majority of the small hall with oil lamps placed on each one. On winter days it is usually hard to find a place beside the large fire grate but if you're early enough, only Merlin can say what will happen. To your left the bar and most likely the bartender Harold "Hops" Lagerty, await you and your order--a few stools await you to take a load off and shoot the breeze with others.
The bartender is pretty sociable to those who don't annoy him. He's seen his lot of warlocks, goblins, and Hogwarts kids to know which ones were trouble and which of those made loyal customers, so be sure not to be put on the first part of the list. A few rules from the Shop Owner: No brawling, no shouting (angrily), no alcohol to minors, and don't go up the stairs, I live up there. OCC Rules: No RPing for the shopkeeper and all other School RPG Rules apply.

And it was when she was about to mention the sweets, that Violet had decided to stop herself. Just the thought of how annoying she must have been just then made Violet blush a little bit.
Then they had arrived at their first stop: The Three Broomsticks.
Violet opened the door to well-known pub walking inside, still holding Phillip's hand the whole time. She took a look around for an open table and then looked at Phillip smiling at him. Violet then had spotted an open booth and began leading him once more. On their way towards the booth, Violet took a quick moment to look around the pub once more recognizing other students from school as usual who also loved coming to the Three Broomsticks like she did. Once arriving at their booth, Violet instantly slid into the cozy booth and then looked up at Phillip waiting patiently for him to sit down with her. She then asked curiously,"So aside from my embarrassing rambling so far, does this look a little familiar to you at all?" Things were slowly coming back to him, mainly due to two reasons. One being that Violet was explaining things so thoroughly that it was impossible to NOT remember something. Another reason being that things were just .. coming back to him. Like random little details that he would normally have overlooked suddenly reminded him of moments he had shared with people when he had been a student. He looked down at Violet and grinned. "Thanks for the tour, love. It was great!" Phillip exclaimed and leaned down to kiss her briefly on the lips.
Oh, look. The Three Broomsticks.
He vaguely remembered this, but at least now he knew that he'd never forget it. After all, how could he possibly forget any place that he'd been to with his girlfriend. Just the thought of it was impossible. Together they walked into the little shop and Phil squeezed Violet's hand gently. He paused and waited while she found a booth and then walked over to it, letting her slide in first. Rather than sitting across from her, he slid in beside her. He wrapped an arm around her firmly and kissed the top of her head. "Embarrassing rambling? I don't think so, Violet." He chuckled lightly. He liked her rambling, because, well, he liked her voice. A lot. "It does look familiar, come to think of it. Also, I now have more reason to remembered it." Her. He grinned at her and gently stroke her cheek. |

| HOLISTIC ACTRESS {X O} EVERYTHING IS CONNECTED Frazzled, yeah she was a bit. The pink haired girl walked to the bar and took an empty seat, and smiled over to the Bartender Harold who was very nice looking. Her stomach growled a bit.
She was rather hungry really - if the load grumbles of her stomach weren't apparent enough. She had left the debate early because well, the food wasn't there. She wanted food not candy. "Hello Herald isn't it?" She smiled over to him as she had heard his name at the debate - since wasn't he one of the raining members on the board? "Butterbeer please," she smiled brightly and with a tip of the head she smiled again. "And can I get a grilled cheese sandwich and some tomato soup with a side of garlic bread?" She asked nervously. "I haven't eaten much lately" she muttered... the next thing she did of course was put the money down.
She wasn't expecting anyone to show up - but that was probably going to be the positively starved girl's luck.

It had been a while since he had spent much time in Hogsmeade since he had been a student. Simon hadn't had much reason to and with classes and then auror work and then a bit of both, he had been kept to London mostly unless an assignment sent him away or he visited home. But seeing as he had some free time with the Ministry on break and the latest case finally solved, the young man had decided to pop over to the wizarding village. It didn't hurt that he had heard about the debate and been just a tad curious.
So he had been attending the debate...if it could be fully called that...but had gotten bored and so wandered out onto the main drag. He soon found himself in the Three Broomsticks, an old haunt as a student and a place that was still florishing with students nowadays. Simon looked around for any familiar faces and when his gaze hit the bar, he spotted a pink-haired woman that for some reason seemed oddly familiar. "Kyle?" His voice questioned as he moved slowly closer.

When she heard that voice calling her name she just kind of wanted to fade away. Maybe fake a - a - she didn't know maybe a German accent. And pretend to be a foreign witch on leave for holiday.
Yeah he'd see through that.
She just sent Herald a nice sorry smile, as things were about to get awkward. Like drop a king in an unmarked grave and cover it with a public parking lot and forget about it for five hundred years awkward. She just took a deep breath and forced placed a smile on her face. "Simon" she half-muttered. "Its been a while...a year...since before you know the thing with quarantine" she muttered and ran her hand through her hair. Yeah she was kind of nervous - it had been a while, and the last time she really had seen him was when she had bitten him.

Had it really been that long?
Well since Kyle had actively interacted and remembered him it might have been. Thinking back, the last real true dealing with each other was at the orientation and reopening which was after the break that was a year before now. Of course HE had seen and interacted with her since then but he figured she didn't remember. "Yeah...it has been."
Simon ran an absent hand through his dirty-blonde hair, unconsciously duplicating her move as he tried to think of what more to say, the only words coming out were... "I'm sorry." For everything, including or maybe especially his early role.

Shivering slightly from the cold, Bjorn pushed open the door to the Three Broomsticks and held it for his comrade. "After you," he said politely. Once inside, he led the way to an unoccupied corner table. "What'll you have, Erik?" he asked the candidate. "It's on me, of course." |

His blue eyes scanned the room as always, just checking out the premises, before he deemed it safe to sit down.
He normally preferred the Hog's Head to the highly public and crowded Three Broomsticks, but perhaps his manager had a reason for selecting this location for their meeting. "I'll have a firewhiskey," he replied. How kind of him, to buy Erik drinks...hmm.
The man folded one leg loosely over the other at the knee and settled into his chair so his back was against the wall and he was facing out. "So. Mr. Berg." He flicked his gaze over to his companion. "How do you think the first debate went?" |

"How do you think the first debate went?" Bjorn deposited his coat on the chair next to him. "Same as me. Two firewhiskeys coming right up." He strode off to the counter and returned in a few minutes, two bottles in his hands. He set one before Erik and took a swig of his own. Sighing in a satisfied manner, he said "Best stuff for a cold day like this."
Bjorn registered the formality. With a shooing motion, he said, "Nonsense. Just Bjorn to you." He smiled warmly. "The debate. Yes, I am quite... pleased with the outcome." His thoughts went to the vial of Babbling Beverage he had Vanished earlier. "You did marvelously, of course. That whole 'A Vote for Vinteren' line! Couldn't have scripted it better myself!" Which meant this man was a natural. How much to tell..? Could he trust Erik to keep quiet about certain events? "As for some of the others.. That Schirmer made a prat of herself, if you ask me. Couldn't stop talking..." A gleam in his eye was hinting at the purpose behind this. Would Erik ask, was he suspicious?

He still wasn't sure whether to trust this Bjorn or not, so he was being tight-lipped for now. At least the firewhiskey was sealed, so he could believe the man hadn't done anything to it. Erik cracked open the bottle with an appreciative nod and took a refreshing sip.
All right, drinks aside. It was time to talk business. He smiled at the compliment and nodded again. "Vhank you." Was that a tone of surprise in Berg's voice? The man needed to have some faith here. Erik was no novice to the world of politics.
He took another swig of firewhiskey and twitched an eyebrow upon hearing Schirmer called a prat. "It vorked in her favour though. Maybe the voters vant an honest answer, regardless of how long-vinded it is." The way Bjorn pointed out Schirmer's talkativeness had the wheels in Erik's mind going at full steam...or the cogs, as his fellow candidate might say.
He was curious. The blonde leaned in toward the table, shielding his mouth from view with the hand that held his firewhiskey. "It vasn't like her to talk so much," he said in a low voice. Or so everything he'd read and encountered about the female candidate said. "You vouldn't happen to have any ideas as to vhat caused that, now vould you?"

Or so everything he'd read and encountered about the female candidate said. "You vouldn't happen to have any ideas as to vhat caused that, now vould you?" Good, a smile. Bjorn's top priority for this meeting was to put Erik at ease, convey to him that he would do whatever--WHATEVER--it took to see him elected. "I must say, I was a bit nervous to meet you. I mean, I was told hardly anything. So when you performed so marvelously today," he inclined his head in Erik's direction, "I was thrilled. And after the debate, I'm even more thankful. I mean, I can't imagine how Reynold's manager will dig him out, being dunked and all." What he was trying to say it that he was pleased to be working with Erik Vinteren. Even if he wasn't that chatty. At least he'll talk in public. Most people have the opposite problem.
Bjorn sighed. "Yes, it seems to have blown up in my face after all, eh? That is to say, OUR faces, of course." He gave a small chuckle of indulgence. "And yes, honesty is usually the best policy with such things. She is to be commended for that, of course."
As Erik leaned in, Bjorn mirrored his movements. Good, he had some sense, at least. "Oh? Are you on friendly terms with Schirmer?" Getting to know the opposition. Forward thinker, this one.
Once more clasping his wand within his jacket, he made a quick motion and thought Muffliato!, which would prevent them being overheard by anyone in the near vicinity. "My friend, they say a magician never reveals his own secrets. It's best if you don't know." With a wink, he finished. "Two words: Plausible deniability." Yes, it was best if Erik didn't know that he had added Babbling Beverage to certain drinks backstage.

The blonde man's smile grew a little, into a smirk you could say. He wanted to ask more about their shared....acquaintance, but had a feeling the Three Broomsticks was not the place to bring him up. "Reynold's manager looks just as incompetent as he is," Erik waved off that anxiety. He wasn't concerned about the blind book store manager. He'd already dug the dirt on him and spread some of it too, and it had been successful, since the man had addressed it at the debate.
Erik tried not to look confused as Berg mis?used the word 'our' ... what did he mean by 'it' blew up? What was it? He had his suspicions, but when the man leaned in too...they were all confirmed. "Not Schirmer," he shook his head but didn't elaborate. Plausible deniability? He was lucky Erik was a master of many languages, because that was as good as an American 'pleading the fifth.' "I see," he said quietly. Erik allowed a moment of silence to fall between them as he finished his firewhiskey before speaking again. "Mr. Berg, I vink we will get along very nicely this campaign season..."
He smiled again.

Presley yanked the door open and hurried into the pub, away from the wintry air. She felt the heat permeate her skin and she visibly relaxed. Had it gotten colder since she'd been flying around the pitch with Milton? It sure felt like it. She spotted an empty table a respectable distance from the door, so there wouldn't be a huge rush of cold air hitting her every time someone came in, and stepped over to it. She took off her jacket and draped it over the seat before sitting down. "It feels good to be inside," she laughed.

Her trying to make a lunch out of him on day? Or her drooling and getting sick all over him. That WASN'T his darn fault. She just had to hold herself back from glaring at him. "It wasn't" she gritted her teeth, "your fault" and she wanted to ad a string of mild magical-curses there, but she held herself back. Really the worst she ever said was merlins moldy pants. That was nothing. "I was infected. So," she just shrugged and rolled her eyes a bit...and shrugged. "Sorry, I'm just...I don't know" her shoulder's sagged a bit. "I got 'cured' from that ruddy thing just to find out that me getting sick mucked up my aunt's chance at a wedding and its off but they are still together. And the icing on the cake is she's gotten herself all preggo-my-eggo and yeah. No one told me. Or if they did I didn't remember." She shrugged. "And I think I still have chunks of splinters of wood in my mouth." She grumbled some more. "But at least I've got a new wand."

Funny, the last time he was here was with Taryn... right after they broke up. Good times. "So, what do you want? My treat," he offered with a smile. Since it was gentlemen-like or something like that. And he was feeling generous. |

Since it was gentlemen-like or something like that. And he was feeling generous. His treat? Presley wanted to shake her head and tell him that she had invited him, so really she should be paying, but ettiquette required her to smile, and let him. "That's so kind of you!" She grinned at him. "May I have a butterbeer?" She glanced around at all of the people around her. This was fun. Maybe she should have invited someone else so that Milton wouldn't feel like it was a date or something. Because it clearly wasn't. It was two friends, out for a drink after being out in the cold all afternoon. Much as Presley would love it to be a date, it wasn't.
She smoothed her wind-blown hair. "You ready for NEWT's?" she asked with a laugh. They were a while away still, but Presley had seen year after year the seventh years get more and more frazzled as the date grew closer.

Milton stood up and left to go order from the bar. A few minutes later, he returned with two mugs of butterbeer and four warm cookies. He set the mugs and the plate down on the table and took a seat. "I hope you like chocolate chip cookies. They looked too good to pass up." He took his seat again and sipped on his butterbeer with a sigh. That was good stuff.
Now, back to the subject of NEWTs. "Eh. I guess. I'm not too stressed out about them, really, but I guess it's still nerve wracking." His career choice(s) didn't really need fantastic test scores anyway. "You're a.. sixth year, right?" |

Presley tapped her fingers on the table as she waited for Milton to get back, a nervous habit that her grandfather was always on her case about. Luckily he wasn't gone too long. She took her drink and sipped it. "They do look great." Maybe this wasn't a good time to mention that the only time she'd tried to make cookies, last year, they had ended up as salt-rocks.
She nodded. "Yeah, I am." And already stressing out about her own NEWT's. "You're not stressed?" she questioned. He must be a freaking genius if he could blow off the biggest tests of his education like that. "What are you planning to do once you get out of here?" She queried. Hadn't he told her once that he didn't plan on Quidditch? She was pretty sure she'd asked this question before, but she couldn't remember the answer, and it never hurt to ask again.

Milton grabbed a cookie and took a big bite of it. Yum. "You're lucky," he said after swallowing, so he didn't have cookie in his mouth. "Don't have to worry about OWLs anymore, or NEWTs." Ah, yes. Sixth year was a wonderful time. Milton shrugged his shoulders and took another sip of his butterbeer. "Not really. Should I be?" He was pretty much a carefree person that just went with the flow and dealt with whatever life handed him. Why stress about it?
If they had had this conversation before, Milton didn't remember. Repeated concussions did that to people. "My dad owns a wizarding networking pub in Dublin. Kinda like the Leaky, I guess. Anyway, I'm going to work there after I get out of here. And eventually, I guess it'll be mine." Several years down the line when his dad wasn't around anymore. |

Here she was, the most obsessive stressed out person in the world, chatting casually to possibly Ravenclaw's most carefree student. She shrugged. "I guess not. I mean stress only hinders you, right?" Right. That's why people were bad testers, when you're stressed, you're not at the top of your game.
Pres nodded. "That's right." she paused for a second, wondering if she should mention what she was thinking. Better just go for it. If he got upset she would feel bad, but at least her curiousity would be satisfied. "I thought you didn't get on too well with your dad?" Yet he wanted to work for him, and eventually follow in his footsteps? Presley never wanted to be like her father.

He had more of the 'I don't really care' attitude towards the tests. He was a lot different than the stereotypical Ravenclaw in that way.
He was starting to think they had already talked about this sometime before. His suspicions were confirmed when she asked about his dad. That's right. "I didn't before... It's kind of a long story, but we're.. fine now." There was slight hesitation because he was still caught up about the half-sister thing, but for the most part, they were fine. Like he said, it was a long story. |

Like he said, it was a long story. It was time to drop the subject. "I want to be a Healer someday," she informed him. Since they were talking about carreer choices and all... She took another sip of her butterbeer. Why was that stuff soooo good? Becoming a Healer was probably why Presley was so freaked out about tests that were a year and a half from now. Maybe she should choose a less ambitious goal, and lower her stress levels.

"What kind of healer? Like, injuries or sickness, or what?" Milton didn't really know anything about healers or even if there was a difference between different types of healers. But it probably didn't hurt to ask. Learning experiences and all that. |

Of course the hardest question would be the one he asked right off the bat. She shrugged. "Well, I thought about specializing in cancer treatment, but now I'm leaning toward pediatrics." Because bringing up old ghosts every day, she had learned, would not be good for her. Plus, it would feel wonderful to help children every day. "Do you like music a lot?" she asked out of the blue. The question seemed random, but there had been a train of thought that had taken Presley to that question.

He asked before taking another drink of his butterbeer. "Personally, I don't want to do anything with the medical field... It just seems kinda sad, being around sick people all the time, especially for those who don't... make it." Sure, Milton wasn't a fan of a LOT of people, but being around sick people like that just seemed depressing.
Oh. That was... random. But okay. "I like listening to music, if that's what you mean?" He could also play the piano rather well, but he would never admit that. Especially to a girl. |

Oh. That was... random. But okay. "I like listening to music, if that's what you mean?" He could also play the piano rather well, but he would never admit that. Especially to a girl. She nodded, excited that he knew what she was talking about. "No, I think it's wonderful. I mean, sure, there are the times that someone passes away, but so many other times you get to see people go from sick to healthy. You get to see how happy they are, how happy their family is. Sometimes you get to see people walk away with a second chance at life. I can't wait for that."
Cookie and drink forgotten she described her dreams of working in the medical field. Her hands drew ideas in the air and she got carried away. She stopped herself, realizing that Milton probably didn't care. To him, healers were probably only seen as the people who fixed you up when you had an injury. They weren't the magical people Presley was in awe of.
She shrugged. "Yeah, I guess that's what I meant. I was just wondering, because you want to work in a pub, and there's music in pubs all the time." Presley imagined that you would have to have a great appreciation for good music, and a fair amount of tolerance for bad music, there was plenty of both in the pub scene.
