Mack hadn't had much luck making friends this year, but she was not about to leave Hogwarts for the summer and not have at least one friend from each of the houses, so shyly she wondered over towards the Ravenclaw table, making her way around trying to find someone that looked friendly to attempt to make friends with.

His surprise showed that she hugged him back. He smiled though, "I'm going to miss my favorite cousin. I love you too." He chuckled at her stare, "Just that everyone should get to know my best friend... Well, one of them, you and Min."

Lex brows crinkled as she tried to think of a response he'd understand. "It's no more ridiculous than you actually pulling off graduating and Oakey's not that bad. You two can help each other and keep each other's company. Make yourself useful, keep him out of sinks." DUH!!!

Okay, Lottie had to add something to that Milton, because Oakey was NOT a maniac, he was just a weird boy who liked healthy stuff. Sometimes a little too much. But not exactly a maniac. Since healthy stuff involved nature, and Lottie was a fan of that, then...Oakey was sort of okay. "Says the boy who almost got eaten by a plant." Cue eyebrow raise.

And...what was this thing about a sink? Never mind.

The second year Hogwartian laughed out loud at Lex, though. What was she looking for on Milton's head? Didn't she know there was nothing in there? "Perhaps the hair thought it was pointless to stay if there was no brain?" It was a perfectly-well theoretical argument.

Oh, and Oakey? "He's too dangerous for the real world, actually. And he makes good smoothies." Fair reasons if you asked her.

Seriously, what was so fascinating about his head? Lex was HOLDING it and thoroughly inspecting it like she was looking for something. Milton flailed his arms and swatted at her. "Get off me, weirdo." And why were they talking about him like he wasn't even there? He was RIGHT THERE. And he HAD HAIR. "I DO have hair, you know. It just... stays inside my head."

Milton glared at Lottie. "Anyone could have gotten eaten by a plant. Two professors did." It was TEN times cooler than getting stuck in a sink. Sheesh. Hufflepuffs.

He was rolling his eyes now. He had a brain, thank you very much. He also had a lot of head trauma. "I appreciate your concern, except not really because it's ridiculous, but I've already made up my mind. I'm not staying." Why were they so insistent on this?

"I would like to point out," he began, pointing his finger out, "that while I have been here at Hogwarts, I have nearly died, like, fifty-seven times. I got knocked out by a coconut in a hurricane. I got knocked out by bludgers at least three times. I got knocked out by a suit of armor head. I nearly gotten eaten by a plant - and can I ask, who keeps man-eating plants inside a SCHOOL anyways? I also got slapped by the Headmistress, and no, I will never let that go." BREATHE. "I would also like to point out that before I came to Hogwarts I was healthy as a horse. AND during the summers, I have never had another near-death experience." Well, except that one time... "Clearly, Hogwarts is not good for my health." Think about THAT, kiddos.

So there they were having that discussion about the misfortune that hit the 'Claw--really it was bad luck, Ravenclaws weren't meant to be dumb but he...yeah. Granted there were a few others like him. See, Milton, there were others like you and they'd probably have to repeat too. MORE company! Right and Lottie was on a roll with her ideas. Sounded spot on but just as the girl began explaining the Oakey situation Lex began being swatted at.

Rude. Just very RUUUUUUDE.

"I am not weird, you are. Who has hair that only stays on the inside of their head? That makes no sense and I like me and Lottie's explanations better." Or maybe he was telling the truth...poor guy probably stood in front of the mirror one day and scared the living cheezus out of his hair. Pity, believable but still a pity.

She shifted her weight impatiently from one leg to the other, arms folded and YES her eyes were rolled for good measure as he tried to explain his history at the school. This was further proof of what they'd been saying all along and once he was done she gave him a LOOK. "That's because you haven't been doing it right. Now do you see why you need a brain?" It had to be obvious by now! "In our two years here we haven't had nearly as many things happen because we're smart about stuff and think about it, if you got all that stuff to happen while you were here just imagine how much worse it will be out there--because yes we're assuming luck brought you through the holidays but see, luck doesn't last all that long." You geddit? Did Lottie need to explain more?

While she waited on a response she turned to look at the Headmistress, she was going to speak now.

Ethan shrugged lightly and nodded. He was fairly confident that he had passed and would well be on his way to Apparating legally.. just the waiting part was hard. Then he grinned a little at her next words. Envy.. heh. She got a chuckle in return. "Yeah.. being Of Age definitely has its benefits.. It'll be nice to make full use of that fact during summer." And what all that entailed, he wasn't 100% sure, but he was eager to find out.

Ethan smirked a little as he listened to Minerva. Two weeks was a long time.. he was fairly confident he could do one week, but double that made him a little less sure. His mind wandered a bit as he wondered just what she did have in store for him, then he chuckled as he heard her do the same. "No, I guess we hadn't.. I just think it needs to be something good if it's going to be double the original challenge." Ethan gave her a little wink. He still needed to figure out what she'd do or what he'd get if he won her little challenge.

Then Ethan gave Minerva a small smile. He could tell she was still sad about the 7th years leaving, but he really didn't know what else to say. It was hard to see people leave no matter what one's intentions on keeping in touch were. He smiled a little and nodded when she mentioned Belle. "Yes, she did say something to me about meeting up with us over summer.. either in the States or Diagon Alley. Did you know her brother is coming here in autumn?" Of course if she met them while he was in the US, she would probably see him during his Muggle challenge and he had a feeling that could be potentially embarrassing.. but whatever.

Ethan nodded in agreement. Their schedules had just been too different this term to be able to put their heads together on any ideas or even just to hang out.. and now term was over already. Funny how at the beginning of term he thought he'd be less busy than last, but it turned out to be just as full.. for different reasons.

His brows raised in interest as Spike spoke of his summer plans. Whoa.. that was just.. "That really sounds amazing," the sixth year said, somewhat awestruck. Ethan nodded again, not completely hearing any more as his mind's wheels started turning, thinking of how incredibly cool an apprenticeship like that would be.. something to look into for the future.

And then his attention was diverted back to the present when he heard Spike turn the question back to him. "Oh.. well, I'm going to the US for a couple weeks, then back to Germany. I got a part time job at an Alpinehouse.. a lot of native plants there, but not much experimental stuff.." He had thought about mentioning it to them though.. so he'd see.. "I might try to help teach piano a day a week too, at the centre I used to take lessons when I was a kid." That still had to be arranged though and only if he could find the time. "And a little training for Quidditch.." Yes, it was turning out to be a very busy summer but he was sure it would be fun too..

Ethan raised an eyebrow at Milton's words. Really.. ? He thought he was a halfway decent chaser, but good enough to consider a career.. ? He couldn't quite tell if the Quidditch captain really thought he was that good or was just trying to be nice... Though Milton didn't really strike Ethan as the type of person to say something just to be nice so he opted for the former. "Well, thanks," he said with a grin. "I'll definitely keep that in mind for an option.." He knew of at least one person who would be happy to hear that.

The sixth year gave a nod in agreement as Milton continued. "Local place?" Thinking about it, he realized that he didn't know where the 7th year lived, but maybe he'd stop in now that he was of legal age now.. and if it was convenient.

Ethan nodded, a bit thankful that Elise had not thought him too rude. "Mhmm.. it's called an Alpinehouse, actually.. has a lot of botanical life native to the Swiss Alps." And they were often tricky to grow and didn't thrive well in traditional greenhouses. She wanted his help in Herbology? Ethan was happy to assist anyone in his favorite subject. Grinning a little, he said, "Sure.. anytime you need help with that sort of thing, just let me know. I spend a lot of time in the greenhouses here." When he was not hanging out with his girlfriend or busy with Quidditch, that is. Besides, that was part of being a Ravenclaw - to help each other out that way.

"Really useful, right?" Ethan said with a knowing smile as the younger Claw spoke of her success with the charm. "Yeah, you should have seen Elise when I first got her.. er, my Elise.. the cat.. She was constantly wandering off and getting lost. I'd find her in the oddest places," he chuckled, remembering how worried he was thinking he'd lose her for good. "Now I can let her go without feeling like I'm restraining her too much.. and she won't get lost." Yeah, he was pretty thankful that Slytherin girl had given him the idea..

Ethan nodded. "Sure, either way will work, I think.." Not that he would be spending much time in London, but he would have to go to Diagon Alley to get his own supplies. "That's nice that you'll be helping him out.. Is he excited to go to Hogwarts?"

He then grinned as talk turned of his girlfriend. "Belle.." he laughed a little. "I'm sure I could live without her." That was a bit dramatic, yeah? "I just meant that I'd never want to think about us not being together." As in breaking up.. his mind wasn't going there. "But I hope you're right," he said with a small smile. The way he felt about her, he hoped they'd be together for a long time.

Ethan glanced a little further down the table and saw Taylor sitting alone. And she didn't look very happy. Shooting the younger Claw a smile, he said, "Everything ok, Tay? Don't worry, I'm sure the Headmistress will give her speech sometime this century and then we can finally eat." You know, since food solved most of the boy's problems, or at least that's how he often looked at things.

He glanced up as Damon then joined her, giving them both a smile. Maybe the Puff would be able to lift her spirits a little. Nodding to the boy, he said, "Hey there, Damon.. Got any big plans for after graduation?" University, traveling, what have you..

Tay smiled at Ethan, "Hey." She nodded, "I hope so." Taylor chuckled. She yawned.

Damon chuckled and gave a nod, "Of course, and you won't have to share me with anyone."

Tay smiled, "Yay!" She hugged him and kissed his cheek, "I missed you so much, Damon." Taylor buried her head in his chest.

After chatting with some friends at the Gryffindor table, Ronnie decided to get up and say hello to her other friends from other houses. So she first made her way to the Ravenclaw table, where a lot of friends of hers sat. She noticed Ethan and gave him a hug. "Hey, Ethan!" she said. "Did you have a nice term?"

And then she saw Minnie.

Ronnie hadn't seen her in so long! She ran up to her friend and wrapped her in a tight hug. "MINNIE!" she cried. "I haven't seen you in forever!" she said as she let her friend go. "How have you been?!" It sure had been a while. It felt as if they hadn't really hung out at all this year.

Then Ronnie spotted the girl she had met at the dock and smiled. She liked her...she was really sweet and fun to be around. 'Twas too bad they hadn't gotten to know each other better or hang out more. Hopefully they could this summer or next year.

She gave Mika a little wave. "Hey, Mika!" she said. "How was your term?"

And another friend! It seemed like all of Ronnie's good friends were at the Ravenclaw table for the feast. She gave Taylor a big hug. "Hey Taylor!" she said. "How have you been? I haven't seen ya in a while." she said, then realizing she had kinda interrupted her...oops. She blushed slightly, feeling a little bad for barging in and hugging her like that.

She turned to Damon who was sitting next to Taylor. "Hey, Damon." she said with a smile. "Sorry for interrupting you guys, by the way." she added quietly, feeling a little embarrassed.

Tay smiled at Ronnie and hugged her back, "Hey! I've been... good... and you? Yeah, I hid out in the common room most of the year... OWLs and all, ya know."

Damon hugged her back and kissed her forehead, "I've missed you too." He smiled at her and then looked to Ronnie, "Oh, it's no problem, Ronnie." He smiled and gave a small nod, "How've you been?"

When Ethan asked if her brother was excited to go, Belle smiled. "Yeah he is and he always wants to know how mama does her spells. He is like in awe like Wooahhh how did you do that! and all that mumbo jumbo. Sometimes i wish i could be a first year again but then i would not have met you."

Belle laughed too, "You know i like to be a little dramatic and sometimes girls like that." she winked at him and playfully punched him. She wanted to mention a little detail.

"Also i wanted to mention that i will get a cell phone this summer and i wanted to get your number too, i already have Min's plus it would be easier when we all hang out this summer."

Tay smiled as she got kissed on the forehead. "I am happy that we are back to be being best friends." She ruffled his hair and smirked at him.

Presley didn't want to do this. The whole goodbye thing. She had toyed with the idea of skipping the feast entirely, but here she was. For real, goodbyes were the worst. People you cared about, you would see again. People you didn't, you wouldn't. So there really was no point to them.

She sat down on the end of the table far away from everyone else. If Elliot were here, she would share the same distaste as Pres, and they could just eat a good dinner together without worrying about all the sappy teary-eyed crap. Or maybe goodbyes were what her whole bad attitude had to do with. She missed Elliot, plain and simple. And she would miss seeing all of her seventh year friends walking around these halls next year. But for heavens sake, nobody needed to cry about it.

She smiled. "Glad to hear it!" she said, taking a seat. She then gave a small shrug. "I've been okay." she replied. Lately it had really been hitting her that next year would be her last year at Hogwarts. It was crazy! It felt like only yesterday she had been on that stool being sorted into Gryffindor...time sure flew for her.

She then chuckled. OWLs...those sure were...fun.

"I hate those bloody OWLs. They drove me insane last year!" she said, shaking her head. She had been under a lot of stress thanks to all that studying and such. Mehhh.

Ronnie gave a small sigh of relief, glad she hadn't made them uncomfortable or annoyed or anything. "Okay, good!" she said. She then shrugged again. "I've been okay. What about you? Have a good term?"

Minerva was sitting talking with Ethan when she heard someone say excuse me, she looked around and was about to turn back to Ethan assuming it was for someone else when she noticed a blonde looking at her. Smiling Minerva listened to her question, "Oh.. umm I'm not sure, maybe in classes this term or something. I'm Minerva, but call me Min or Minnie if you'd like, everyone else does." She hoped the girl wouldn't be disappointed that Min didn't know who she was, but then Min hoped she didn't actually know the girl and wasn't just missing the name in her brain at the moment.



Minerva then felt someone put their arms around her for a hug. Hmm this wasn't even her table, she looked and smiled seeing Ronnie, "Hey Ronnie, how are you?" Hugging her friend back she frowned a bit, this term.."Oh I'm sorry Ronnie, this term as been a bit much. I've been hiding pretty much in my dorm most of it studying for OWLs, I'm sorry.. I'll make it up to you though." She hated feeling like such a bad friend this term, it was just a crazy term and she was glad to see it come to an end.




Minerva couldn't help but smile, he seemed a bit nervous about this challenge. She was starting to feel like she should just tell him what she had planned, but that would take the fun out of it. She wasn't really doing the plan to prove anything, she just thought of somethings she figured he might really enjoy and that's what she was going to have him do.

Reaching up Minerva played with his hair a bit, "Well when I do win this hair is going to look super cute longer.." That she decided would be her prize for winning this challenge. Plus it helped that she thought he would be adorable with longer hair. "When you decide what I need to do if I would lose, which I'm not going to, just let me know." She giggled not really caring if she won or lost, she was just excited to do things that Ethan had never done before and to experience them with him. She thought of the mountains and all the tourist stuff she could take him on.

She decided it was time to change the friend's leaving topic is was just to much, oh but Ethan kind of did, Belle in the summer, "Yes Belle said something to me as well. I invited her to Tennessee to do one of the challenge things with us, it could be fun." Hoping he wouldn't mind doing muggle thing in front of Belle she gave a small grin. "She told me about her brother, I'll be keeping an eye on him next term.." She had to, Belle would do the same for her if her own brother would have been able to come to hogwarts. Frown Thinking about something else quickly Minerva looked at Ethan, "Have you heard anything from your mom about the Hospital?"

Taylor laughed, "They drove me insane this year." She sighed and rubbed her head, "I think I am going to get poor on all of them..." Tay frowned.

"As am I, Taylor." He smiled at his cousin. Damon shrugged to Ronnie's question, "I've definitely had better."

Taylor leaned her head on his shoulder, "Sorry for being so moody lately. Did ya hear about Uncle Bryson's new gal?" She looked at him.

Damon shook his head, "Can't say I have." Then again, hearing about love wasn't really what Damon cared to hear about.

"I only heard that he had a girl in sight." She shrugged then kissed Damon's cheek, taking his hand. "Oh, cheer up, sour puss."

You geddit? Did Lottie need to explain more?

While she waited on a response she turned to look at the Headmistress, she was going to speak now.

Blah, blah, blah, blah...Milton never stopped. At least he was good at something. HEY NO SWATTING HIS FRIEND, MILTON SHACKLEBOLT! Was that his last name? Was he related to...? Aaaanyyywaaaayyyy....

...she made a face. Hair on the inside? Like, instead of a brain? She could believe that, but surely it'll take a bit of time before Lex could, and she wasn't wasting more time with explanation. Not when food will be arriving any minute now.

Yeah, we see the wave, Aidan, we just pretend not to notice.

Lottie was going to have a headache from all those sentences, Milton. Also, their cause was LOST. "Two Professors who didn't get help. You got help. And here you are! Which is why you should consider our heartfelt advice. Sleep on it. I know it's a lot to take in." She said, nodding his way. It was a lot to take in, especially if his hair was, in fact, his brain. Now her eyes went to Lex, they should let him sleep on it, mmhmmm. "We've given him a lot to consider, you know? Probably more he's ever been given...," because no one, NO ONE, could care as much for the world's safety as Lex and Lottie, "...perhaps we should go back." Bid their goodbyes and stuff.

This isn't given up, by the way, this is knowing when the right time to leave was. "For the record, we both went into the Forbidden Forest, and we're completely okay." She said, mentally taking note of everything that happened to Milton. Surely, someone got it worse. Ask Mildred...Mertle...Myrtle? Myrtle, yeah. Ask Myrtle.

This second year Hogwartian patted his back twice, while giving him a smile. "Good luck, Milton." She actually wanted to hug him, because...oh-poor-thing, he was going to die out there. Er, you know what? She did it. She squeezed him quickly while still smiling, "Lots of it. Because you keep us, the smart ones, alive." BEAM. Balance in the universe, yo! Airey would approve.

Can we go now, Lex? She was ready to go to her table and eat. And by her table we mean the Gryffindor one.

"I couldn't fight HER," Mo scoffed. Elise was his mate and his Beater buddy, obviously. He'd much rather play WITH her than fight with her. Surely Milton saw that, though. No point bringing it up.

"Saving the world is cool, Sir Captain Milton. I would totally help you, if you wanted. I'm good at saving people and stuff. But if you're cool," Mo shrugged. No big deal. ONLY HE WANTED TO HELP WITH WORLD SAVING.

OH FOOD. "Look, Sir Captain Milton! FOOD IS HAPPENING. D'you want ice cream?" Because he was absolutely going to get himself some ice cream.

Spike sneaked a glance at Beezus, and saw that she'd quickly caught the frog. Chaser's reflexes at action there. At that thought, a small lump formed in his throat. He really had missed Quidditch more than he'd anticipated this term. The training, not at all. But the thrill of being on the pitch? Totally. Hopefully he'd get to play for fun after the summer.

He sighed, eying Milton for a moment. However, his focus soon shifted to the other side of the Ravenclaw Captain, as he caught Beezus' movement. He pushed his glasses back up his nose, before leaning back slightly too, and giving a nod in reply. He wasn't really sure what he was going to say to his Co-Prefect, but he knew he couldn't just leave without saying at least a simple 'goodbye'. And although this whole thing might seem a rather secretive, furtive way of going about things, it wasn't really - he knew that Addy really wouldn't mind him talking to his friend. He just had to make sure the two of them didn't get the claws out at each other again.

Spike nodded. "I really hope so," Spike replied, a slight nervousness bubbling up in his stomach. "It's a year away in the first instance, and I really hope I'll be able to learn a lot and do a bit of my own thing whilst I'm out there." And of course there would be lots of camping, and not just plant species to investigate. He was hoping to see some cool new critters too.

"Sounds like a busy one," Spike replied. He'd never been to Germany, but an alpine house sounded fun. "I'd be interested to know if they've got some pufferpods," he said a with a look that suggested an idea was forming in his mind, "and what colour they are. Particularly if they aren't pink or orange." His pufferpod project from his younger days still wasn't complete, and there was a part of him that was still curious about it. "And I'm sure it'll still be pretty enlightening even if you can't do any experiments. All those new species to tend to..."

Wow, there were some really musical people at Hogwarts, weren't there? "I didn't know you played..." Spike said, even though there wasn't really a particular reason he should know. The boys had usually discussed plants in the past. Funny how he wasn't learning new stuff about peeps on his last night here. As for Quidditch, Spike nodded. "New Captain to impress and all, I guess..." Which was a good point. Who would be the new Captain? And who was going to replace him, for that matter?
