As is usually with charms class, desks and chairs are seemingly gleaming to the point of seeing your reflections in them and the room is immaculate. The room is bright, the air is crisp and generally conclusive to learning.
Professor Bellaire is standing in front of her desk waiting to welcome you to Charms Class.
The professor has outlined the lesson on the board, so while waiting to take your seats, get your minds working.

YES! They were going to be able to try it! Dustin leaped out of his chair and stood next to his desk, fiddling about in his robes before he was able to find and extricate his wand. He was just about to try the charm for the first time when he realized he had a question.
"Professor?" the small Ravenclaw asked, raising his hand. "I have a question. Why is the wand movement different for the two different applications? What is it, magically, about performing the charm on ourselves as opposed to something else that requires a different wand movement? How does the magic know?" He still hadn't quite wrapped his head around the fact that magic wasn't a sentient being.
As he waited for an answer, he turned back to his desk. Dustin tapped his desk, muttering a half-hearted "Disillusiona." Of course, nothing really happened, but he could swear the desk looked a TIIIINNNYY bit more transparent. JUST A SMIDGE.

This time Alyssa concentrated a little harder on what she wanted the spell to do. 'Camouflage...make the desk invisible...zap out' Alyssa thought to herself as she looked at the desk.
She tapped her wand on it again and said,"Disillusiona". This time a blue steady beam streamed out from her wand and hit the desk. She watched as the desk became opaque and then transparent and then POP!! it was visible again.
Alyssa sighed in disappointment. 'Okay, third time's the charm...it should be. This is charms class!!' Alyssa quickly stifled her laugh as she almost laughed out loud at her own joke. 'Okay time to be serious now, Alyssa. Let's try this again.'

Was the Professor feeling alright? Meh. She wouldn't question it. Not right now anyway because she was too excited that they'd be able to cast the charm on themselves. So much could get done when one was almost invisible...but of course...she'd have to go practising on the desk first. Mmm. OKAY!
She jumped up from her seat and drew her wand immediately. This would be easy, no, it'd be super amazingly easy and she'd be able to get this down in no time. It was probably really simple. It had to be because she really wanted to learn it for reasons and not learning it would mean those reasons wouldn't be realized and that didn't exactly work for her.
Right then. On to the casting.
"Disillusiona!" Tap.....ahem, tap.
....
She stared down at the desk that was staring up at her. Maybe it never got the tapping message. She tried the incantation again and gave it another tap. Yeah...so maybe tapping wasn't it's thing.

'Okay Alyssa third time's the charm...third time.' Alyssa thought to herself as she looked at the desk and first tried to figure out what had gone wrong the first two times.
'Hmmm....maybe I wasn't concentrating hard enough, or I didn't say the incantation loud enough....or the way I tapped was all wrong.' So Alyssa practiced the various ways of tapping without saying the incantation. Overhand tap with a downward wrist movement. Then an underhand tap with the palm facing upwards, followed by a twist of the wrist when she tapped....or just a plain old tap. TAP...TAP...TAP...TAP...
Alyssa began tapping all over the desk. 'Hmm...maybe there's a hidden spot one has to tap.' Alyssa closely examined the table before a giggle started to erupt from her. She quickly squelched it down. 'There's no such thing as a hidden spot on the desk, Alyssa.' Alyssa laughed at herself.
Alyssa took deep breath and slowly released it. It was time to be serious again. Rotating her neck and shoulder muscles, she tried to relax them. She was preparing for a battle. A battle to make the desk camouflaged. With her eyes screwed up in deep concentration, Alyssa tapped the desk with her wand and said,"DISILLUSIONA" loud and clearly.
She watched as a beam of blue light streamed out of her wand and enveloped the desk. As she looked, the entire desk began to shimmer like as if something hazy was covering it, parts of it began to disappear first turning opaque and then transparent and then all she saw was the other desks behind it. Half of the desk had disappeared from view.
She watched as the other half of the desk slowly began to do the same thing too. Then Pop! it was gone!! Alyssa walked over and felt all around where the desk was supposed to be. Yep! it was still there. She could feel its distinct shape. She just couldn't see it.
Alyssa bent down, bumping her nose against the camouflaged desk in the process, "Ouchie" Alyssa rubbed her nose as she examined the area in front of her. She could still feel the desk but other than that all she could see was empty space.
But before Alyssa could bathe in the glory of successfully casting the Disillushionment spell, something began to happen. POP!! A leg of the desk appeared, followed by another and another. Soon the desk was clearly visible again. 'Darn it. How does one make the spell last longer than a few minutes?' Alyssa thought to herself.
So she raised her hand. "Professor is there a way to make the spell last longer than a few minutes? Do we have to keep concentrating as long as we want the object to remain camouflaged?" Alyssa asked.

Tap on the head of the person or thing. Mmmkay, Ella could totally do that. She was just sort of wondering what part of the desk was considered the head because...well she didn't really know. Eyeing it curiously for a moment or two the blonde decided a nice tap in the middle would do and she stood, smoothing her robes. Then out came her wand and she took a deep breath. She could do this.
So uhhhh..."Disillusiona!" TAP.
Blink.Blink.Frown. Nothing. The desk was still there and most definitely not blending in with its surroundings. "You're kind of a lousy chameleon, y'know." She muttered, feeling kind of disappointed the spell hadn't worked. Oh well, keep calm and charm on. That's what they say, yeah? Or at least...that's what they should say...in situations like this.

Jory watched intently as the Professor demonstrated the wand movements. Time to try it for himself! He stood up and got his wand ready. "Disillusiona!'' And then a tap.
The boy waited as a beam of blue light left his wand. "Yes,'' he thought as he watched the desk. Two of it's legs had vanished completely but that was about it. He waited a few more seconds to see if any other part would vanish but that didn't happen. "Well, at least it's a start.''
Sophia listened quietly as her students proceeded to give examples of scenarios where the disillusionment charm could be used. She was proud to say the students seemed to have a fairly good understanding of the charm based on their examples...even if some of the examples were indeed questionable....
No matter, they were learning and that was important.
"Very good class. You may all take 2 points each for those very....umm..creative and informative (for lack of a better word) answers. She stood once again and made her way to the board and wrote:
"Now their are two ways to cast this charm. If you are casting it on yourself you simple clearly say the incantation and twirl the wand around your body, as though you are using the wand to wrap rope around yourself. If you are casting it on someone else, the wand movement is a simple tap on the head of the person or thing. If it is a person they should feel as if someone has cracked an egg on their head..as Mr.Odessa mentioned earlier."
She stood up and demonstrated the spell on herself then on her desk then undid when she felt everyone had a good enough look.
"I'm going to need everyone to step outside of their desk and practice casting this spell on your desk. Once I'm satisfied with your progression you'll move on to you casting the spell on yourselves."
Step outside of their desk? This WAS military school, merlin. When did that happen? She didn't know, but she did not want to be kicked out of the room again so she zipped her lips and did as she was told. She was fully capable of making a fool out of herself on her own, she did not need a professor to do that for her.
Once she was all settled in her standing place, she drew out her wand and waved it around a bit to get her wrist ready. Cool, she was ready. It was time to rock and roll or whatever that expression was that her grandad always used. Weirdo.
She concentrated on the spell and said it a few times, "Disillusiona....Disillusiona....Disillusiona....D isillusiona." That sounded like a good amount of practice. Then she tapped the desk on the top and waited a moment. Perfect. Okay, she was ready.
The redhead focused on the desk and tapped it, "Disillusiona..." For the briefest of moments, the desk flickered in and out looking invisible. But then... it didn't work... Meh. Alright. Time to try again.

Well, at least the wand movement for other things wasn't too complicated. Penelope thought the one that was used for yourself was a bit excessive - why couldn't it also be a tap just to keep it simple? - but oh well. At least they didn't have to worry about that yet.
"Disillusiona." That was the incantation right? Not too bad. "Dis-ill-u-si-on-a." Sounding it all out helped. "Disillusiona." The third year repeated it a few more times before deciding she had the hang of it. Not too bad so far. Time for attempt one as she stepped away from her desk.
"Disillusiona," she said, tapping her desk with her wand. But...yeah, of course nothing happened. So she tried again. "Disillusiona." Another tap of her wand. Still, of course, nothing. Which was annoying.
"Disillusiona." Tap. Nothing.
"Disillusiona!" Tap. Ohh, tiny flicker- ...Nope. Still visible.
"Disillusiona." TAP. A tiny part seemed to look like it was going invisible...?!
Yeah.
Nope.
Of course not.
Meh.

Kendall hadn’t been able to help the grin that crossed her face as Professor Bellaire had responded to all the suggestions of instances where people might need the Disillusionment charm. She’d earned more points, which was kind of awesome. It hadn’t been as many as the first time, although there also hadn’t been that odd sense of almost getting into trouble, so therefore, it was awesome. Plus, now it seemed like they were actually going to learn the charm. She’d blinked at the explanation of the wand movements, though. Namely, the fact they were supposed to do some weird twirly thing around themselves, and the professor’s demonstration really hadn’t shown her how to accomplish that without ending up confused and non-ninja-like. That wouldn’t be good, but for now they weren’t casting on themselves. Just their desks, and she hopped up as soon as they had been instructed to.
She could manage a tap, but first, she wanted to practice the incantation. “Disillusiona. Disillusiona, disillusiona, disillusiona,” she repeated several times, before she took herwand out and tapped it on her desk. “Disillusiona.” Hmm, she thought, as it faintly looked like the surface of her desk wavered a little, but then solidified again. That wasn’t right, and she eyed the desk. It was going to let her disillusion it. She wasn’t vanishing it or anything, and actually, she was curious if she’d be able to sit in it while it was Disillusioned. It would look like she was floating, which was interesting. First, she had to actually get it to cooperate. “Disillusiona!,” she said, a bit more forcefully, as she tapped the desk again. “Well, you sort of worked,” she said, as the desk disappeared. The legs were still visible, and the chair, but she’d gotten eh top part of the desk to disappear. It was something.

Oh, so they would be casting it on themselves today? That would be fun! Well, time to hop to it, Bliss thought. She slipped out of her seat, stood beside her desk and took out her wand. She loved charms so much, is was fun and them spells always came in handy. The young badger looked down at her desk and back up again. What was the incantation again? She listened and watched a few other people practise the spell, before turning back to her desk and trying it for herself. Disillusiona. That was the incantation, if she'd heard correctly.
Bliss muttered the word, "Disillusiona," and then tapped the desk.
She held her breath.
Nothing.
Well this was a great start. "Disillusiona," she said again, a little louder and more confidently. That effected that effectiveness of the spell, right? Right. Once again, nothing happened and Bliss sighed. "Disillusiona." Tap. Wait, did it just flicker? She watched her desk hopefully as it flickered, parts of it becoming invisible. Unfortunately, the success was short lived, as it soon became visible once again.

Second time was the charm, right? Like...that was a thing? Or wait, was that third time?Hmmm. She was really quite rubbish at remembering these little sayings, wasn't she? Anyway...it was time to try again. Yup. And this time she was really determined.
The blonde took a little walk around her desk, visualizing it clearly in her mind and then thinking about how much she wanted it to blend. Seriously, please just blend. And then she raised her wand again and bit her lip, hesitating for only a moment before, ."Disillusiona!" TAP.
A flicker! The desk had actually vanished for a moment or two and the blonde rubbed her eyes, wondering if it had been her imagination or not. It hadn't lasted long enough for her to know for sure but it was something. BEAM! She was totally going to get the hang of this thing. Yup, she totally was.

Sierra slid out her desk, all the while holding her wand firmly in her right hand. As a seventh year, this shouldn't be too hard to master. It was just a matter of saying the incantation just the right way, moving her wand in just the right way, and of course, concentrating and putting her focus into it. Nope. Not hard at all.
She turned and faced her desk. She should really move her bag away from it, just in case something weird happened, and she made it disappear, too. The desk she could live without, but that bag had a lot of her homework assignments in it. She scooted it out of range then turned her wand on her desk.
She focused on it...well, no longer being there, which was sort of hard to do. "Disillusiona!" she said, tapping the desk with her wand. There was a strong surge of blue light that flickered around the desk, but in the end, it was still there.

Wade got up from his seat so he could begin practicing the charm.. Now let's see if he remembered.
Taking his wand and lightly kicking his bag aside, Wade took a good look at his desk after walking in front of it facing it.. Just need to concentrate hard on this.. Wade thought of only wanting it to blend, before he gave the desk a *TAP*. "Disillusiona!"
Then a warm-feeling from his hand extended outward before it reached said desk.. It was a strange sight, seeing the desk before him flicker to invisible back to visible for a few moments. Almost mimicking Wade's face expression as he blinked at the sight...Well, it did blend...for a bit.

Asher got up and stood next to his desk. Okay he could do this. He picked up his wand off the desk. He turned to face it. Focus FocusDisillusiona!Disillusiona! Okay He raise his wand ready to tap the desk with it.
"Disillusiona!" With a tap to the desk.
The desk flicked in and out of view, for a bit. then BAM. You could see it as plan as usual. Again? Of course Asher wasn't one to give up that easily. He stood up straight. This time more focus and less......um Whatever. Focus.
"Disillusiona!" As he tapped the desk with his wand.
This time it worked. He smirked, yeah he had this in the bag. It really worked. He was about to pat his self on the back when the desk, blinked back into appearance. Yeah, he had it...... and then he lost it.

Jory was impressed at the effects of the Disillusion Charm. The two legs of the desk had completely vanished. It looked as if they had never been there at all. But he still had to vanish the entire desk so he readied himself again.
"Disillusiona!" he exclaimed and tapped the desk. Concentrating, he kept his eyes on it. Sure enough, the top began to vanish as well. It started from the left side towards the center, where it stopped. Jory grinned. The table looked most peculiar with half the top and two of its legs missing. "Just have tor try again and concentrate harder,'' he thought.

She stared down at the desk for a good, long time. It was just sitting there, like it had no intention of disappearing any time soon. She was not amused. People were getting this spell, people that weren't HER. What was she doing wrong? She WANTED the desk to go invisible like so the intent was there but it still wasn't working.
Maybe it was the desk.
Yeah.
She would try again. "Disillusiona." Oo! Oo! It was working, it was wor--....or not. Lex blinked down at the desk that had barely managed to go pale. This called for some serious measures. "Look, I can make you go invisible the nice way or the not so nice way. Right, see this? This is the nice way." Warning received right? She didn't want to have to go over this again.
"Disillusiona!"...."Disillusiona?.....Dis...illu...siona...." No? "Um...Professor...I think my desk is broken."

Belle was tempted to do the spell again. She needed more confidence. I mean come on the wand movement was easy. It was a simple tap. Belle took a deep breath and decided it was time to take action.
Belle stared at the desk and then took out her wand. She concentrated and said "Disillusiona!" and then the wand sent out the spell and the desk was not there anymore when Belle opened her eyes. GASP! Belle did it! Belle smiled widely and was proud of herself. She knew she could do it.
Belle saw Alexa having trouble. Belle smiled and came over to her. "Alexa you need any help?"

Concentrating harder this time, Jory tapped the almost completely vanished desk with his wand. ""Disillusiona!" Keeping only the desk focused in his mind, he watched careful for the rest of the desk to disappear.
Sure enough, the rest of the desk's top seemed to be vanishing. Until it was all gone! And the desk was completely blending into the surroundings. The Puffer had done it!

Disillusiona with a tap. West felt okay about that, the wand movement wasn't too complex or anything and he knew what to focus on -his desk becoming a chameleon and not being invisible but disguised. So.
He stayed mostly quiet in general but he got up from his desk and turned to face it.
"Disillusiona!"
.... and the strangest thing happened. West was entirely startled to see that he got it on the first go. HISDESKWASGONE.
... well not gone but, y'know, disillusioned. He shot bright eyed excited did-you-see looks at Dylan and Sierra and then reached out to tap his disillusioned desk. How long would it last?

Lex was about to try reasoning with the desk again, because, you know, it needed another chance before she got all hostile on it when she heard a familiar voice offering help.
She turned to her with a small smile. "I suppose I do. I think my desk might be broken. It won't disappear when I charm it to." Stubborn thing. How hard was it to blend in with the surroundings when you were told to? [b]"I know I said the incantation right and there's nothing to the tapping stuff which obviously means the desk is the bad thing in all this.
In fact she was convinced. Yup. It was totally the desks fault and not hers. "You know a desk repairing charm?" Just a curious question.

Sarah as usual first decided to practice the incantatio. That was the part she usually got stuck on. Disillusiona. "Disillusna.. EHR. Disllusiona..Disillusionuhh. Disillusiona" fianlly it sounded okay. She practiced thw wand movement for the one on herself, that was harder then the just tapping thing. She encircled herself with her wand. At first she got a bit twisted yet the second time it worked out.
Laura decided that she would make sure she at least tried to get this right. "Disillusion." Laura had a feeling she was missing something but what was it. "Diagon Alley." No that wasn't right either. "Dis..ACH..OOO" Laura giggled now that wasn't right either. "Disillusiona." Laura smiled and did a little jig she had got it right, she then practiced the wand movement now though did she dare put it all together, she didn't want the destroy the classroom or anything.

Elise probably should've stopped spacing out when Bellaire had began the class but it was hard to do with her life being as complicated as it was then. It wasn't really fair that her father didn't know she existed anymore, and that she was supposed to look after him as soon as school ended for the term. Nope. Not fair at all.
Snapping out of it, she realized that it was activity time already. So she got out of hre seat, faced her desk and stared at it. "I want you to blend in with your surroundings. You will be a chameleon." she said, half to herself and half to the table. Picking up her wand, she tapped it.
"Disillusiona."
A blue light engulfed the table, it shuddered a little bit and slowly started to disappear. First it was the center of the top part, spreading out to the rest of it. Then, the legs began to disappear until nothing was left visible.
She'd gotten it on her first try!
Sitting back down and putting her wand on her table, she beamed. The wand sat there, almost as if suspended in midair.

Vanishing.
Ella couldn't help but think this particular charm would come in handy whilst she was off investigating things and stuff. The thought sparked some excitement in her eyes and only intensified her need to get it right. The only way to do that was to keep on practicing, yeah? Yeah!
Squeezing her eyes shut for a moment, the blonde cleared her mind of everything she'd been thinking and focused on what she wanted to do, on what she wanted to happen. When she was ready she opened them again and pointed her wand at the desk.
"Disillusiona!" TAP.
Blink!
It was gone! The desk, the one she had been sitting at, it was gone! "I did it!" She squeaked quietly, beaming with pride. This was really really reallyyyyyyyy cool! And did Sophie see? Cause she was going to be the charms queen and Ella was pretty sure her best friend would be proud of her too!
So it makes the object blend in to its surroundings as if it was never there? I wonder if you can use it to make things looks like other things and not just whatever was around it. Hmm... At any rate, for now she would just focus on making the desk look like its surroundings, chameleon style.
She stood from her desk and tapped it with her wand, "Disillusiona!" The desk blinked at her once, a short blink of what the ground underneath it looked like, but it did not stay. Hmm..okay, well, try and try again - per usual.
She tapped the desk again. "Disillusiona!" This time it held for a few seconds, taking on the appearance of the floor, from the angle she was looking at it anyway. But then it flickered out like a dying bulb and returned to full desk mode. Boy, this spell could be really dangerous. What if you hid something on the ground to trip people with and everyone just went falling all over the place? I wonder what the spell is to reveal anything that's been hidden. Yunno what, I think I'll ask.
She cast the spell on the desk another time and walked away as it vanished. The charm seemed to be holding and she wondered if it would still be in place after she'd asked Bellaire her question. Hope no one runs into it while I'm not right next to it... Meh. She'd see when she got back.
She approached the professor and asked, "Professor, I was wondering. What's the spell to reveal anything that's been disillusioned? Like if you walked into a new place and wanted to check things out, make sure you didn't trip on anything for example." It seemed like a good question to her. She also was going to keep her ears open to hear how long the spells would last too, since she'd heard someone else ask that question as well.
