Smack dab in the middle of the day, History of Magic may not be the class you want after enjoying a relaxing lunch break but want it or not, it’s what you have. Making your way into the classroom the first thing that hits you is the nice cool breeze coming from the open windows.
At the back of the classroom, away from the last row of desks, happen to be two extremely old chairs. They appear as though they may be on the verge of breaking, but they must be there for a reason.
The desks have been arranged in their normal positions, two side by side. The only real difference happens to be small stack of papers on each desk along with an individual pack of coloured pencils.
As your eyes quickly dart to the front of the classroom you’ll notice that Scabior isn’t in his normal spot leaning against his desk, that would be quite a hard task considering the number of thin books stacked on his desk. Instead he sits behind it, like an actual respectable professor. He however, is not the only one at the front.
Sitting cross legged on a desk chair with wheels is a boy who looks slightly too young to even go to the school. He is continuously spinning around in circles until he catches sight of you, stops, and grins. “HELLLOO! Sit down, sit sit!”
OOC: Class has started! You are welcome to jump in just pretend like your charrie has been there all along! Class will begin in like...20 hours . Please familiarize yourself with the updated classroom rules. Your characters can chat, eat cookies, do a rain dance. Just remember Scabior is there, and SS and RPG rules apply.
Peyton raised her eyebrow in surprise. They were to draw a super person? Cooool. After professor Scabior finished explaining their task, took out her color pencils and began sketching shapes. After erasing a few things and tossing away several parchments, Peyton realized it wasn't so easy. Or maybe it was and she was thinking too much about it.
She thought about it for a while and listed a few things she'd like in her superhero. After her list was done she had a better idea of what she was aiming for. Woot. She started to sketch out her ideas until she was satisfied with it. Ah. Hit Girl was awesome. She was strong, and fast and had a BAT! :3
Okay that wasn't one of Seth's favorite things to do. But in the aspect of illustrating an original character, he shrugged his shoulders and went for it.
Unlike his cousin John, Seth wasn't gifted with the ability to be artistic. Scratching his head he got some ideas as he maneuvered the color pencils until he finished. He gave his super hero the name Shadow Archer.
Hmm, it turned out better than he credited himself it would.

To be perfectly honest, Dylan had forgotten about the drawing he was supposed to be making and was reading the comics. All in the name of research, of course. He needed to fully understand characteristics...and powers....
GAH! X-MEN were so cool.
Wolverine had to be his favorite. To have metal placed throughout your entire body...UGH...and the CLAWS! Dude was awesome....and Rogue was a redhead and hot...REDHEAD.
Hmm...
The Slytherin needed to get to work, obviously...pulling out some parchment, he began to draw and such...
Meh, this was going to take a while...
Drawing.......drawing.......

Damon looked up at Scabior and raised his hand, "Professor, what if we grew up evenly with both cultures, muggle and magical?" That's how he was after all, his mother a muggle and his father a wizard. Was he making this too difficult? He felt he might be considering this was one of the few classes Damon actually enjoyed.

They were going to draw their original fantasy character? Hmm? What was it with Professors this term? Almost every one of them would task their class to draw or sketch something. Not that she was complaining. She was fine with drawing but the problem was inspiration. Meh. Could she just draw Kyroh instead? Besides, she was brought up in both a wizarding and muggle community so which one was she going with?

...Huh? Oh. Right.
THAT was her dilemma because she was half-blood and her parents, even though her father perished when she was still young, made sure she and her deceased sister got acquainted with both cultures. So, "I've got the same question Professor. Do we just choose?" If so, can I choose Kyroh instead? PLEEEEEEEEAAAAASE?

Any excuse to draw was a good one for West so he was right into it and nothing else was important anymore. He took a few liberties with his hero, and started drawing legs.
Lots.
Of.
Legs.
And a deformed FACE. And a superhero OUTFIT and a SNEER. He had to have a sneer, did Acromantula man. Muggles would call him TARANTULA man though. West figured why not create one what could fit into both worlds depending on the perspective? People could believe what they wanted to believe.
Now where to put the venomous fangs?

Scabior was silent for a few seconds and stared at the boy. He appeared to be a first year. Lesson one at Hogwarts: "Be careful with what you say. Or Muggleborns might not like you too much." Really, he had to think. And why was he stuttering? "There are bad Wizards and Witches out there, just as there are bad Muggles, and they've killed hundreds. I can name many of them. So don't make that assumption."
Oh, boy. The professor is staring at him. N- Nooo~ What should he do? Alex tries to act calm, but fails to do so as he becomes for fidgety. "Y- Yes... Professor..." he agrees. Come to think of it, there isn't a muggle who is as crazy as Voldemort. At least no one that he knows.
Huh? Drawing? But- Alex can't draw to save his life! Unless the professor doesn't mind his artistic ridiculous drawing...
Several minutes later, he is finished with his drawing. It is his best drawing so far and Alex is proud of it. He labels a couple of things just in case the professor would think that the guy is conjuring lava out of his palm...
Scabior nodded, more because he was listening than agreeing. "For the most part there you are right. However, they are not funny things that Muggles would do but rather funny things that some people believe Muggles do." Big difference there.
Scabior sighed. "That is a biased statement suggesting that Muggles are violent individuals. Need I remind you that we have just as many criminals locked up in Azkaban?" No. He couldn't even take the rest of the answer into consideration after that.
He nodded. "Yes. Exactly."
He blinked. Gryffindors."Muggles could say that you have a boring life considering you don't have x-ray vision."
Good! Right on point. Scabior nodded in encouragement.
And there was the more innocent spin to it. She was correct as well. "Exactly"
"Yes to both." Both of his answers were in a way, correct.
Scabior nodded. This one was already starting off better than his sister. "Or perhaps its like that for the Muggles as well, having heroes with powers may just be an element of fantasy to them as well."
"Right. At least no Muggles he knew.
"Normal in the sense that we wouldn't have magic?" He was amusing that's what the boy meant. After all technically being a wizard or a witch was a normal thing to all of them. "Good way to put it." The grass is always greener type thing. "Though I could argue that both sides could just be curious?"
The explanation was a bit..jumbled, but Scabior nodded all the same.
West was up to something. Or thinking about it, by that look. He would have to give Hecate a heads up to keep an eye on the boy.
His reason though...it was different from the others but that didn't make it less correct. "That is the exact point of Fantasy." Scabior said with a small nod. Good job there Odessa. As for teh rest of what he said, he was right too.
In a way it was almost like this class. Thought to be about Muggle superheroes but that wasn't the real lesson behind it.
"Well I wouldn't exactly call them new. Wizards and Muggles used to co-exist together." Which was something she SHOULD know by now as he had taught her it!
"In the simplest terms, yes."
A small Scabior nod. She was right however. It was just Scabior.
"Oh I think they are happy." Scabior started slowly. "It's just fun to imagine." Was it not? Did she want to live in a world with no imagination? As a author, Scabior didn't.
Fantastical......Right. He raised a brow but then just nodded. She was correct after all.
"That's a good theory. It may just be correct. You never know." She should do research. With polls and graphs.
"Exactly. The ones that don't hang around Muggles don't understand them. The ones that do know it's a joke."
Completely right! And on that note-
-
"So, I know that many of you were thinking, and even asking what Muggle Superheros had to do with History of Magic." He looked over at the two who had so rudely asked, as if he had no reason for having this class. "And to be honest with you, usually it would have very little. However like I said earlier, sometimes textbooks don't always tell you what you need to know. Sometimes it's just psychological. What many of you said, just now is a realization that can not be made by reading anything from textbooks."
"In the essence of fantasy, Wizards, Witches and Muggles alike tend not to write about what is normal for them. Because of this we end up actually writing or creating characters like the opposite group. We have muggles in our stories. We have a man who fights with a pixie. Generally we take things and people we don’t understand. Muggles are the opposite. They take people who they have no ability to be. Need a guy to save the world? Why not make him fly?"
He let it sink in for a bit before moving on. "As Wizards- and witches- we have the ability to do basically much of what Superman can do. We can fly, on brooms. We can produce fire with our wands, we can find a way to climb walls. Why do we need a Batman when we had Harry Potter? Batman could never live up." It made no sense. The guy was just rich and wore a bat suit. Nope.
"And this whole idea is essentially one of the first things that you are taught maybe when you are a Muggle but especially when you are a Witch or a Wizard. The idea that your way of living is normal. So let's try and imagine something else. Something more fun." It was why when they were younger any of the ones who had grown up in a magical home probably wanted to get their hands on a wand. It is also probably why Muggleborns have the best understanding since their exposure. It was why he had chosen to make this topic a lesson. Because dates and names were great but the way wizards thought? That was just as important in history.
Checking his watch Scabior nodded. Alright. There was still some time. He flicked his wand causing the comic books on his desk to rise and another flick sent them drifting over, one muggle and one wizarding one on each desk. "For the rest of the time we have here, I want you to use the tools on your desk to create and draw an original fantasy character who would thrive in the wizarding or muggle community. If you are Muggleborn or grew up with Muggles I want you to do one on the Wizarding community, and the reverse if you grew up in a magical home. OOC: Oh....this is long. I apologize. I will give you a free eye massages once you have read this post.Edit/Note: If you can't think of a character right now that's totally fine, just RP your character thinking or trying stuff out, whatever you want. Class will end really soon so that's just a heads up.
Drawing? that was for kids! Oh man! Couldnt they do something more better? What was with all these professors?.. singing and drawing.. they werent that young! Well he had better get to doing this drawing, kinda boring and kiddish.. but ok.. whatever. Though he had to admit he had some idea.. BUT.. he had a question before he could start drawing!
"Professor.. do we draw a good guy or a bad guy?" cause that was an essential question when drawing and even though the professor had specified whether they had to draw muggle or wizard characters.. he wanted to know what kind of characters. Sure they had talked about the good guys, but there were some awesome bad guys out there too.. right? not that he knew many of the muggle ones.
Laura looked at the Professor and sighed, she was totally lost, her brain was hurting her and she was trying to think of something but every time she started it went wrong all the time. "Professor a good person or a bad person?" Laura decided she best find out what the professor wanted.

Even then, the time she spent with wizarding people was still shorter than the time that she spent with muggles. What then?
After much thinking Alyssa decided that she would draw a fantasy character based on someone who would be living in a muggle community i.e. her. She thought long and hard before she opened up her box of coloring pencils and started drawing.
After taking the time to draw her fantasy character which was the worst drawing she had ever done, Alyssa sat back and put down her coloring pencils. She looked at her drawing. This was her fantasy character. The DragonLord. Dr. Merlin Emrys, a human who had been experimenting with Dragon DNA and ended up accidentally injecting himself with it.
He had the powers of a dragon. He had the ability to breath out fire. His body/skin was so strong and tough that nothing could penetrate it. He had the ability to fly and his eyesight and hearing were excellent. He used his powers to help those who were powerless to help themselves. Those who needed his help against villains of the muggle community.
Ooooh! "He looks like Aquaman." Kyroh said instantly. "Except he has a mask and Aquaman has green pants and brown shirts." He nodded. "And this one is a dragon." He liked dragons!

"He's going to be called Captain Cool,'' the badger thought as he looked at his poor masterpiece.
Captain Cool is just as his name sounds. He's always in charge and cool headed in a bad situation and is always ready to fight for others making him one of the most admired superheroes especially by the children. His super powers included flying, being able to stretch his hand at any distance he wants to and laser beam vision.
Well he hadn't asked for help but he could still give it! Hmmm. "He looks like.....he has blue hair." And blue was a pretty cool colour so, that was Kyroh approved. He nodded once before running off again.

She also wasn't allowed to read magic comic books either while growing up. That didn't matter though. Melody knew one thing. She LOVED to draw, she could do this. She already knew what she was going to do.
When she was done Melody had the first drawing of a girl named Amelia Clearwater Amelia Clearwater, in a normal outfitHer second drawing of Magic GirlMagic Girl, A.K.A, Amelia Clearwater, in her hero''s costume She then wrote on a piece of parchment. Explaining her character. The is Amelia Clearwater is a witch that lives in the *muggle world. She wears a ruby necklace that she presses, in the center, that will change her outfit to her fighting crime outfit. She attends high school as a transfer student after graduating Hogwarts. This allows her one year before she graduates in the muggle world to study more in depth about teen muggles and even dating a boy in her school. One day she accidentally reveled herself as a witch in front of a muggle while protecting them. Instead of being punished the Ministry of Magic decided to give her a code name Magic Girl, and how observe how the muggles react to a real 'superhero' just like the comics they read about.
*This is a comic for both magic and non magic folk. The comic book is designed to change words like muggle will be come human Hogwarts and Ministry of Magic will have fake names, son on and so forth to protect our world, if a muggle is near by. This way both races can read and enjoy Amelia's adventures.
OOC: Sorry, I miss read the instructions (thought they said a character that can thrive in both worlds or something like that), but I liked me cliche idea so much I decided to stick with it.
Huh. Kyroh was confused when he ran up and saw the new pictured buuttt. "You should change her name. Magic is cool. But magic for a name is like...lame. Boring. It makes me yawn." The young boy blinked. "Not really yawn, because Superman and Spiderman and Batman all have boring names but you could probably do better. They were all created by old people who don't know cool stuff." And she wasn't old yeah? Oh well! He was off again!

She also wanted to make sure that this girl was around her age, fifteen-ish, so she would appeal to students. Lots of kids bought fantasy comics, yeah?
Pulling her materials towards her, the badger began to sketch. She kind of added things as she went along, eventually settling on a girl who possessed bird-like qualities. Crowina, or Rina Stark as she was known during her regular life, was just a kid who discovered she possessed abilities associated with crows. She was able to fly when needed, could foresee the future, and had above average intelligence. All of this enabled her to travel around and prevent bad things from happening to good people.
When the blonde was finished she sat back and bit her lip, wondering if a character like this would be interesting to others as well. Hmmmm.
This one looked sad. Aw. "Is she sad girl?" Kyroh asked quietly. Aw.

She ended up drawing this supersmart Muggle kid who could outsmart, outwit, and outlast just about anybody, criminals including. She ended up drawing what she imagined the cover of the comic book to look like, complete with her name as the author.
Once she was done, she sat back and looked over her work.
Kyroh leaned over to stare at Sierra's drawing and then started to giggle. "I like his nose!!!!" The boy said erupting into a fit of giggles. "It reminds me of Severus Snape." Did Sierra know who that was? She probably did she was smart.

"Class is just about finished now, but don't throw out your drawings yet." No, he had gotten them started for a reason. "For your homework I want you to continue creating the characters and make a story with them in it. You can actually create a comic or just the story but the characters have to be complete either way." Yeah. That was it. Huh? They were done already. Aw. Kyroh ran over to the door so he could give everyone leaving a chocolate frog.

As Belle was being dismissed, she just finished her drawing. "Oh Professor! I just finished my drawing what do you think?" Belle asked with a kind smile. She worked hard on it!
Then Belle asked him, "Professor do you think i should research my theory on why people want to be involved in a second world of their imagination?" Belle was curious what he thought about it.

Alyssa was disappointed that the class was over. Did that mean that they wouldn't see Kyroh again? She hoped not because she liked him. She found him adorable AND very intelligent, which of course reminded her of someone.
Alyssa quickly wrote down what their homework assignment was. Then she picked up her drawing and packed it up together with the books into her backpack. Slinging the backpack over her shoulder, she walked up to where Professor Scabior and Kyroh were standing. "Thank you Professor Scabior for another interesting lesson AND for introducing your son to us. Can we hope to see him again?" she asked as she looked down at the boy....who was giving out chocolate frogs to everyone leaving.
"Thank you, Kyroh, both for the chocolate frog AND the lesson. You are really good at teaching. I hope to see you around the school more this term." Alyssa told Kyroh. She so wanted to lean down and pinch his adorable cheeks, but she didn't know whether he would get offended or not, so refrained from doing so. Waving goodbye to him, Alyssa left the classroom.

She had only spaced out for like a second or two and now it was all over and they could go? What about the drawing? It wasn't exactly finished. Lex looked down at the blank parchment. Would the Professor mind?
Deciding that she didn't want to find out she quickly stuffed it into her bag and began packing up her other things.
Oh? They were going to be finishing up the drawings along with their homework? She could do that! Lex quickly made her way to the door, not stopping to thank Kyroh for the chocolate frog. Nope. She just bolted.

There was a lot of drawing stuff this term and it was tiring Kat. It's not because she hated drawing, it's just that drawing won't seem to help that much in OWLs or in Quidditch. Those two are, like, her life at the moment. But if she was to ace this subject and do great in OWLs too, she was gonna have to try.
And try she did. She took the colours stuff and started creating a drawing of some kid that's a Muggle. She failed at this, apparently. Trying was stupid, but she didn't give up. Plus, it didn't take too long for her to finish her lame excuse for a drawing. Well, at least she drew something unlike the others.
After she fixed her things, Kat started to make her way to the door. WAIT. "Thanks for the lesson, Professor Scabior," she said and smiled at him. And then... AWWWWW there's the cutesy kiddo. Kat adored the little boy. He was giving out chocolate frogs too! Adorable. "Aw, thanks Kyroh!" Kat said and patted his shoulder after accepting the chocolate frog. She'll miss his lessons. SNIFF. "You were a good professor today as well!" She beamed at him and gave him a last nod before leaving. Great class.

Oichi had no idea what wizarding comic book character to come up with. I don't even like wizarding comic characters. How am I gonna do this? I guess I'll just draw something and see where it goes.
Oichi put her pen to paper and began to draw.
SPOILER!!: Drawing
Just as she finished her drawing class ended and now she knew she had to come up for a story for this nutty character. She cringed just thing about it. She gathered her stuff and headed for the door. There she was glad to see a dude handing chocolate frogs. She grabbed one as she headed out. She was sure she would be able to think better hyped up on chocolate.

Minerva was trying to make her horrible drawing presentable for Mr. doesn't like anything when he said it was time to be done. Well then, she looked up. Oh they could finish it as homework. Alright then, putting it in her bag she got up. "Have a good day professor." She didn't really make to much eye contact and just gathered her things to leave.

"Class is just about finished now, but don't throw out your drawings yet." No, he had gotten them started for a reason. "For your homework I want you to continue creating the characters and make a story with them in it. You can actually create a comic or just the story but the characters have to be complete either way." Yeah. That was it. Scabior yawned before tapping his wand and making the homework appear on the board. "Feel free to keep the books. You are dismissed."
Huh? They were done already. Aw. Kyroh ran over to the door so he could give everyone leaving a chocolate frog.
They were to decided. Okay, got that.
Beezus had barely brought the tip of her pencil on her empty parchment when Professor Scabior announced that class was over. UGH. That early? She had not even gone to do the task yet! ...Oh, it'll just be saved for homework. What's more, they had to add in a comic or story about the said character. Well. Beezus wouldn't complain on that, they were given more time anyway.
Stuffing her things into her bag, the brunette stood up afterwards and smoothed her skirt before walking up to the Professor, "Thank you for a good lesson, Professor Scabior." She wanted to stay though, BECAUSE Kyroh. Moreover, she was curious as to why the man had a son in the first place. Would it be rude to ask him?
Hmm. Maybe it wasn't the right place and time for that. And so, with a small bow she headed for the door where she gave the chocolate frogs being handed out by mini!Scabior with a bemused look but went to pinch Kyroh's cheek.
PIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINCH. "You are so cute!" Girly!giggle. Before the young boy could say anything, Beezus dashed out.
Oh man. Kyroh's grin grew. "That is my favourite guy EVER." Because his hair was cool and his clothes were sparkly.
Alex startles as the younger boy compliments(?) his drawing. He quickly covers the parchment with his arms and his cheeks are flushing red. He remains silent and tries not to look at Kyroh. Not that he is being arrogant or anything...

Oh? Class has finished? Alex quickly packs his belongings (including the drawing) before he makes his way towards the front. "Have a- a nice day, professor..." the boy forces the nonexistent confidence in himself to greet the elder man.
Kyroh. Right... The boy is nice. Alex should apologise for appearing to be arrogant earlier. Therefore, he grabs Kyroh's hand and places a piece of ginger newt in the younger boy's hand before he runs out.

For homework? Okay. West shrugged and packed his things up, his drawing still in his hand. So he could just DRAW a comic and not actually write any boring junk? Best homework ever!
He took the frog that the little kid gave on the way out. "Thanks, Scabiors." Both of them.
For the frogs.
Both of them.

Class was dismissed, finally. Erik stood up from his somewhat comfortable chair and stretched out his long legs, giving a few nods to the leaving students (and to the little boy) that passed by. He waited until the room had emptied, or mostly emptied, before approaching the professor.
"Profevssor Scabior," he addressed the man and held out his hand for a proper introduction. "I am Erik Vinteren, Board of Governors candidate. I vas wondering if I might have a word?"

"Why not?" Scabior asked simply as the Hufflepuff approached. "If it interests you do it. You might find find out some stuff you never knew." The fact that someone wanted to research more? That made him smile, just a bit.

"I don't think I can come back." Kyroh said simply. "I don't go to school here."

Anothe girl had come up to him read to leave, and as Kyroh held out a chocolate frog the girl suddenly ATTACKED. Grabbing onto his cheek and picking it. OWOW! "You're not suppose to do that!" That HURT! Kyroh backed away from the door just a bit, in case someone else wanted to do that.
Ow.

Oh. That boy. Kyroh gave him a small wave, he didn't seem to like him that much since he turned red when he looked at his drawing. "Bye." He whispered quietly. But then the boy tugged at his hand and put something it before running away.
Huh.
Ginger newt!!!!
Taking a bite of the newt's head Kyroh was beyond happy.

To each person who had said by, Scabior gave them each a nod. before they left the room. Turning to his desk, he quickly began to shrink the left over comics. It would be easier for Kyroh to take back home anyways and relaly it was just as simple as that.
He hadn't noticed that the board candidates had stayed behind. But here was one. Right in front of his face.
Fun.
The accent almost through him off.
"Mister Vinteren." Dash said simply, giving the man a firm shake. A word? No. He had better things to do. But as the new Deputy.... "Of course. What can I do for you?"
They were suppose to LEAVE now so he could tell him about his hurting cheek and the newt but-his dad was talking to one of the men from the back. Oh. Huh. Kyroh shrugged and made his way over to the desks and began to tuck in any chair that hadn't been. He was just making everything look neat!

His eyes flicked toward the surprisingly well-behaved boy, who was pushing chairs in. "Good kid you haff there," he added kindly toward the Deputy.

What this unknown man could do for him? Uh...drop out? Let him go? Not invade any of his other classes? He stared for just a second before turning away.
"Wondering indeed..."
Ahem.
Shrinking the rest of the comic books, Dash opened up a suitcase and began placing them inside. "Actually Mr. Vinteren, as I'm sure you are well aware, the Board has a big impact on the school. That being said, it's not really the other way around." Which meant that if he WANTED changes. They wouldn't come.
"Do you believe that anything on the board needs to be changed?" He raised a brow as he turned his attention back to the man.
As for Kyroh..."Thank you. He does what he wants." Which usually was the right thing. Yeah, he was lucky.

Wondering...Erik's bright blue eyes narrowed for a moment at the repeated word, but he shook it off quickly in favour of speaking with the man. He had a point to make, and apparently he had to make it before everything in the room was packed away.
"Yes, I think I do," he tilted his head just slightly, "I'm not sure if Hogvarts has a strict curriculum in place," one where comic books were allowed, "but perhavs that needs to be changed in order to better serve the studentz. Perhaps some of the educators should be allowed a larger say in the school."
He paused, to punctuate his next sentence with some meaningful eye contact. "And perhaps some should not. I vas just seeking opinions before the...debates start. Vank you, your class was most helpful." He would not waste any more of his time in here.
Erik moved for the door, leaving behind one special white chocolate frog on a desk with an un-tucked chair. It was for the little boy who was nice enough to share his. Shame the same couldn't always be said about the grown-up versions.
