When the Headmissus gave the elvsies a special job to do, Argyle dropped her current task of scrubbing the kitchen floor and started preparations.

Ice cream. Ice cream for the studentsies at the feast! Argyle speedily filled lots and lots of bowls with the stuff, excited to hand it out.

*POP!*

STUDENTSIES! Argyle has ice cream, she does! Argyle has ice cream for studentsies' celebrations!

First stop, to the table that Airey was sure would accept the challenge.

Tugging on the collar of his shirt, Airey approached the Gryffindor table and set his hands on the shoulder of the nearest student - who just so happened to be Miss Fischer - and then grinned at all the lions. "Evening lions," he greeted with a small smirk. "It seems your librarian thinks that he can defeat me in an ice cream eating contest." Cue a small break for an evil laugh. "Anyone else care to come up to the staff table with me and put the man in his place?"

Anyone? Miss Greenwell? Head Girl Skylar? He heard they liked to eat.

"Oh, hello there Argyle," he said with a nod towards the house elf. Ah, ice cream. "Don't mind if I do." And then he took a bowl from the house elf and began eating it on the spot.

See this here? This was house unity or sommat like that. Mo dropped onto one of the benches and grinned at the Gryffindors nearby. Hello, favorite people. And person. And ice cream. Mo accepted the bowl (NOT A CONE??!?!?) and immediately put it down in front of Alice, even if she was all distracted and stuff. He wasn't too terribly demanding when it came to attention.

Another bowl, and this one went to Lex, because she was there and looked sort of... ignored. Which was sad.

"Bet I can eat this faster than you," he nodded at Lex before lifting his spoon in salute.

Theme parks were in the Muggle World? Oh. "Err, I guess so?" He's only seen them in magazines, books, and those DVDs so Zeke wasn't exactly sure.

Sigh. It's hard to get out a good conversation out of people. Even if he had lost his memory and all that, it seems his sociability hasn't changed at all. Though this lost boy was much nicer now than he was before, talking to others wasn't really his forte.

He chose to keep quiet after that. Plus he had that empty look on his face. Maybe it was the lack of food.

Speaking of food, a house elf appeared and granted his wishes. OHYEAHBRO! COMEATME.

Ice. Fluffing. Cream.

Smirk. "Thanks, Argyle," he grinned at the nice house elf. He'd been starving for a while, and thankfully Godric sent down food to the merciful souls begging for it. Lolokay, that was too much exaggeration.

Anyway, TIME TO DIG IN. While he was stuffing his face with ice cream, he looked around at the other table to see if they had any. Yup, everyone was enjoying the ice cream best served cold *ahem!IcePrincess*

Desert served first, eh? Awesome.

The fact that he was glaring at her didn't make her any less amused by the situation. What did he think would happen when he went and said something like that? People would take him seriously and they'd discuss it over some tea? No, things didn't work like that; not at the Gryffindor table anyway. Snicker.

She composed herself again when he started giving Diagon Alley some serious thought. It was good that he did too because just about everyone would be there and he'd miss out on a lot!

"OH I HAVE!!" She couldn't help but practically shout. "They're plenty fun too!!! Why? Are you going to one? Which one? Is it one you've been to before???" And now she had questions because she loved going to those and now had the idea to beg her Daddy to take her to one. He wouldn't mind, not if he wanted her happy--which he did so it would be fine.



Lex giggled despite the girl's obvious distress. "What a silly house elf. Wouldn't you be a 'Mistress'?" A very curious thought when she allowed herself to think about it. Then again, house elves were curious creatures. "And proper or not they're great fun to tackle." GRIN. The house elves at hogwarts had personally taught her that...er...until they started crying...then you have a serious problem.

"Oh and o'course we can meet up in Diagon Alley, that'd be epic fun I imagine. Just think, we could have ice-cream or candy or we could go to the joke shop." There were other shops too but she just really liked those. This meant that Mack couldn't spend too much time with her grandparents. Nope. The summer would be too eventful for her to spend it with old people who told old stories. That didn't sound very fun.



"Oooohhhh, interesting!! I've never been to the wizarding side of France, in fact I don't think I've ever been there at all...or maybe I have...if I have then the candy couldn't have been all that good then because I don't remember." Which was a rather sad thought. VERY sad. Who didn't have good candy? How did their tourist market survive?! "Museums are okay, they can be cool but 'cept you can't go around touching stuff." And she LIKED touching!!!

No sooner than the girl answered did the Headmistress begin her speech.

FOOD!!!

"Looks like you were right!! We can eat now!! And ice-cream!!!" So much for eating real food. This stuff was all she needed!!! At this point she stopped listening to the Headmistress because well...FOOOOD.



"Right...." Not wanting the cauldron cakes that were no longer being offered to her earned the girl even more looks. What in merlin's beard...? She tilted her head curiously at the girl before reaching over and poking her a few times. Alice was broken, clearly she was...but how did one go about fixing a Alice Fischer?? She stared some more then went back to poking. A reaction would be nice, let her know she wasn't completely gone.

"Why am I looking at you so funny? Why are YOU looking over THERE so funny?" That was the better question and now she wanted an answer because she'd already thought about it. See how that worked. "And it is not," referring to her attention span, "you keep staring and it's not at me." Did this sound like she was complaining...maybe demanding attention? WELL SHE WAS! "But no, I don't know it so I'd really like if you did!" She liked learning new spells, even when they weren't hexes.


ELF!! HOUSE ELF!!!!

Lex beamed over at Argyle when she made her way over to the table. Lex liked the house elves, they were one of the most adorable things EVER!!!! If she wasn't so busy trying to figure out what was wrong with Alice she would have tackled her to the floor but see what a good Gryffindor she was being??? This deserved chocolate frogs???

"Me! I want ice-cream!!!" GRIIIIIN.

Speech was done, Vinteren got elected and now she was having ICE-CREAM!!! BEST FEAST EVER!!!



Oh and lookit, Professor Airey had walked right up to them and put his hand on Alice. What was he doing here--not that she minded, she liked this professor--but wasn't he meant to be at the staff table. "HAI PROFESSOR!!!" BEAM.

And now she would wait for him to explain himself because they always did. Heh and there it was. Ice-cream eating contests and librarians and the like.

Ooooo, and they were being offered the chance to go...watch...eat ice-cream too...?

No matter, she wanted to volunteer because this Professor was asking--and because she wouldn't give up the opportunity to have ICE-CREAM EATING CONTESTS with Professors. They'd probably all lose. Ice-cream was pretty good stuff. "I'm IN!! Oh and you should stop by the Puffer table too and see if Hair Boy wants to try as well." HE liked ice-cream!



She was busy between poking Alice and eyeing the ice-cream when out of nowhere she saw a bowl of ice-cream appear in front of her. That's when she looked up and realized that Mo had made his way over to their table!

HEEEEEYYYY! It was like one big party wasn't it? More people should come over too. Yup.

"Thanks!!!" BEAM.

She got set to take the first spoon of it when she heard a challenge. This made her grin over at the Ravenclaw. "Bet you can't! What do I get when I win??" Winning was nice, she liked doing it, especially when it came to edible things and treats were among her favourites of that category. She looked over at Alice for a minute before resting her eyes on him again, almost forgetting that she had been ignore, almost.

It wasn't like he was over here to be best friends or anything, but Mo sort of felt baaaaad about being social with Lex. Just social, though. It would have been awfully rude to ignore her, and in spite of West, Mo didn't want to be cruel to the younger girl. Just... distant.

"You get to tell people you beat me. And THAT is quite a prize," Mo raised his spoon and settled with his back to the table. "Readysetgo."

... Merlin, this ice cream was cold and he was sort of full already and... BRAINFREEZE. Mo groaned and slapped his hand to his forehead, hitting himself with a full spoon of ice cream right between the eyes and sending the spoonful sailing toward Lex.

Duck?

She thought about his prize for a second...honestly she would have preferred the offer of a chocolate frog, nothing wrong with those you know, but she guessed his offer was good too. Being able to say you beat a Ravenclaw was a great achievement...although...they weren't known for eating so would it still count?

There wasn't much time to think that part through because the next thing she knew he was scarfing down ice-cream!

Oh!!

Lex dug her spoon into her ice-cream and kept shoveling loads of the stuff into her mouth. Her eyes squeezed shut as she tried to ignore the cold that threatened to kill her brain BUT she could still do this and in fact she WAS--

What the...? Cold cold cold!! "You can't waste it! That spoonful doesn't count!" She said, flicking her own spoon toward him, forgetting that there was actually another spoonful on there...ooops...

What the WHAT? Was Lex actually throwing ice cream at him? When it was so OBVIOUSLY an accident that he threw ice cream in the first place? Honestly... women.

WOMEN.

Mo ducked, letting the ice cream sail neatly over his shoulder (was it gonna hit someone behind him? UHOH x2) before he scooped up another spoon of ice cream. He held it threateningly in the air. Menacing Mo was menacing. "Dare me."

Well there you go, he dodged it and there was no harm done. See that? Not every accident had to turn into a catastrophe. Now they could get back to the ice-cream eating! She stuck another spoonful in her mouth but that was all she got before she saw him raise his spoon again.

With the spoon still stuffed in her mouth she looked over at him, yeah Branxton you got an eyebrow raise too.

She stared at him for a long time, just trying to figure out whether he'd hold accidentally thrown ice-cream against her--AND GASP OF ALL GASPS HE WOULD!!!! "You wouldn't." She said simply, removing the spoon from her mouth and sticking it in her ice-cream again. "Because then I'd have to go ahead and do this."

Lex scoped up some ice-cream quickly and hurled it at him. That enough of a dare for you?? Mwahaha!

So many new things to learn around and about Hogwarts this term, and Aquila was still doing that-- learning. Ravenclaw see.

So there she was walking about peering at the kind of pretty pretty plates each house had (which looks to be different in each table) when--

S P L A T !

-- something landed in her ear.

"Ew... ew... c-c-cold......"

She threw her ice cream FIRST? Mo took the ice cream right to his cheek with a little grimace. It was very cold after all, and he didn't really appreciate the mess she was creating. Not to mention the ruination of perfectly good ice cream.

"Bad sportsmanship, Cambridge! Are you mad? Throwing ice cream? FIRST? He hadn't even thrown any at her!

OUTRAGE.

"That's not polite," Mo flung another spoonful at the girl before upturning his entire bowl over her head. And so sorry to their neighbors for the mess.

He hard the squeal from behind him, and Mo turned in his seat to see ice cream dripping from little Aquila's ear. HER EAR. That meant it was in her hair.

Poor thing.

"Are you okay?"

Mack grinned as soon as she saw the house elf, "Thank you" She took a bowl of ice cream from the elf. "What's your name?"




"I should be Mistress Mack, but he just calls everyone Master" She took a bite of her ice cream. "Surely my grandmother will let me come alone, other wise she will spoil all our fun. I hope we get to have lots of fun" The small child grins, excited about the summer possibilities.

She was kinda busy trying to get more of the ice-cream down in case Mo decided to start throwing up a storm but then she heard someone...whining? Lex looked just pass Mo and saw that Aquila girl.

Oh whoops. That was her ice-cream that did that to her, wasn't?

WAAAAIT.

Technically it was Mo's fault because he ducked! It wasn't fair because she'd taken him like a man! Not that she knew he was gonna throw it. "You can come throw ice-cream too if it'll make you feel better!" GRIN. So don't be upset, yeah?

HAHAHAHAHA!!! It caught him! HAH! Good aim, yup, see why she was a Chaser? Lex grinned over at his obvious outrage and stuck a celebratory spoonful in her mouth. Bull's eye, yo! Oh Mo, was the ice-cream good, did it feel amazing on your cheek? Hahahahahahaha!

Yeah yeah, bad sportsmanship too and all that. "Well of course I shot first! It's no fun when you're second!" Logic.

She stopped laughing only after she felt a scope splat right on her forehead but before she could react any further there was ice-cream all OVER her. Okay so maybe that was an over exaggeration but for her it was TRUE!!! COOOOOOLD!!!!!

Lex hopped out of her seat immediately and flicked away as much of it as possible. "Wasting a whole bowl of ice-cream isn't polite!!!" Then it hit her; she wasn't polite. Reaching across the table she stuck her hand in a bowl--c-c-coooold--pulled out a handful of ice-cream and smeared it on his face.

That's what you get.

Lex tried not to giggle more. Such a silly house elf. The one at her grandparents' house wasn't nearly as silly. "I don't suppose there's any point in correcting him is there?" It probably didn't even matter to the girl now did it?? "And I hope she doesn't ruin our plans, I hate when grown ups do." They always got so annoying when they thought they had the final say. Bleh.

Ice cream is cold yep.... and it started to melt... which not only is it getting into her ear, but her hair and down her blouse. Sticky. Icky. Wince-worthy....

-- and apparently a tradtion.

Aquila gawked at Mo and Crazy Lex smear and pour ice-cream at each other. They were doing THAT. And if theres anything Aquila learned about having to adjust to her new life outside her island-- is that do as the Romans do.

Or in this case Hogwartians.

"I will proudly partake in your tradition!" she beamed, taking an entire bowl and a spoon and started scooping it out and FLINGING it at Mo and Lex. "Am I doing this right?"

"I'm not looking anywhere. There's nothing to see over there. Nothing that interests me, anyway." Alice shrugged her shoulders nonchalantly. "You have my full attention, see?" She wasn't peeking over at anything. Lex could be calm. "My attention span is fine, I just don't care much for discussing packing because it reminds me that I still have to do mine. And yours." Because packing could be considered a birthday present, yes? "And we can work on it after dinner, then."



"I can eat more than him, Professor. Just so you know." Bottomless pit here. Alice and Penelope could most definitely put that librarian in his place while eating, mhm. "Does that mean extra ice cream for us if we do go up?" Because just one of those little bowls wouldn't do. She could down, like, at least thirteen of those, did they know?



And then there were Ravenclaws- the ones she had been staring at earlier to be precise- appearing and giving her ice cream. "Thanks." And then.. and then there was food SMEARING and FLINGING and THROWING. Was she supposed to put a stop to all of that? Badge and all? Or could she leave the boring patrol stuff to Selina, 'cause she was Head Girl and all?

Of course she could.

"Food fight?" Because if they were having, SOMEONE had to call it. "Well. You know, I'd join in and dump my whole bowl of ice cream down your shirt," she informed Mo. "But I'm not quite done with mine yet, so you're lucky." Alice tapped his nose with the unused end of her spoon before returning back to her ice cream and watching the whooole table make fools of themselves.

This. This was entertainment.

Hmmm, was Miss Cambridge referring to little Seeker boy? He had been all over the ice cream earlier in the term when he had first spotted the machine in the kitchens. Hopefully the boy had not consumed the ice cream that Mr. Gunter had scooped off of the floor. "Thank you for the tip, Miss Cambridge. I shall head over there right..." After he spoke with Miss Fischer. "But of course! It is an eating contest after all," he smirked will popping another several spoonfuls of ice cream into his mouth. Heh. That made five bowls for him. Take that LeoBALD. "Would you like to -------"

*SPLAT*

The Astronomy professor was seeing red and NOT just because he happened to be at the Gryffindor table. Eyes wide as flying saucers, he sloooooooooooooowly looked down at the front of his WHITE shirt and found...

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" he Darth Vader screamed. "MY SUIT!" His Sunday best! His best friend! IT WAS COVERED IN ICE CREAM!

OOZING.

STAINING.

ICE CREAM!

Alright. Who threw that? WHO?! He was going to turn them into a ferret.

"I'd be amazing at eating contests. My tummy has no bottom," Alice informed Airey and the rest of the world, rubbing her belly as she did so. "Can the librarian-" .. why was Aireyhead screaming? It was ice cream. She stared blankly at the suit-obsessed professor for a moment. "You're a wizard, Professor Aireyhead. Can't.. can't you take care of that?" No? Did he need some help from his favoritest student ever?

She extracted her wand from her robes and pointing at his suit. "Tergeo." He was WELCOME. Pity term was over already, or she'd be expecting points for such quick thinking, did he know? "You're welcome." Ahem.

Oh holy walnuts. SIGH. Mo wiped ice cream out of his eyes and let it drip between his fingers back to the table. It was a good thing he could head right back upstairs after all this fun and take a shower. Or maybe he needed to soak in a bathtub for a while to get all the ice cream out of his hair. Or something.

"Just... don't encourage..." Mo began, but it was too late. Now both Lex AND Aquila were flinging ice cream, and they had generally devolved to madness. In a fit of something-like-chivalry-but-not-quite, Mo wrapped both arms around Aquila, pinning her own arms at her sides so she wouldn't keep throwing ice cream at people.

"Fun game, right? Let's take a break for a second."

He got a thanks, and then a challenge, so Mo couldn't this exchange as a positive one. He grinned broadly at Alice, even through the ice cream in his hair and the little Ravenclaw he was trying to pin down with his own manly strength. Rawr.

"Bet I taste pretty good right now, though. Just saying," Mo shook ice cream out of his eyes like a wet dog coming through a puddle, and then he grinned at Alice again. "I know you get to sit in the prefect car on the train, but you should sit with me instead. Will you?"

And then Airey happened, and Mo was SO thankful that his hands happened to be full. And Aquila happened to be settled. PUT DOWN THE SPOON, LEX!

Mo gaped at the professor for a long moment, his mind reeling helplessly from lame nonsensical excuse to excuse, until he finally opted for a very simple shrug and a glance at the ceiling. He searched the sky above them through the charmed ceiling for the source of the magical ice cream rain cloud and then shrugged again. "Weird weather we're having, Professor. Very weird."

Mhmmm, right, because she was so going to believe that. Whatever was over there CLEARLY interested her more than the twelve year old ever could and she would have been even more offended but see, there was ice-cream so everything was fine. She nodded slowly at her, trying to convince herself that what Alice was saying was the complete truth. "Right, okay we won't talk about it then." She already agreed to help her pack later anyway so it wouldn't matter all that much...or well it shouldn't. "You gonna go to that ice-cream eating contest thing?"



Sweet merlin!

Lex literally had to duck when the girl began hurling ice-cream like it was nobody's business. What the kneazle...? Her hands were made busy trying to shield herself from the sudden ice-cream attack but suddenly it all stopped. She waited just a second longer to make sure it was really that it had stopped and not that she was simply re-loading on ice-cream amunition and that's when she saw that Mo had her.

The Second Year took in the scene before her then erupted with laughter. She was now covered in ice-cream--like legit she was! It was in her hair, all over her robes and she was sure her socks might have been soaked with the stuff. Mo looked possibly as worse and Aquila looked like she was having a grand time. HAHAAHHAHAHA!!! This was too funny!

With a wide grin now across her face again she reached across the table for an untouched bowl of ice-cream and helped herself to a spoonful. "A break sounds good." She flopped down in the seat...sticky, soaked, cold robes made for uncomfortable sitting and looked over at the two. "That was actually a little epic, right way to wind up the night."

And now she wasn't tired anymore. She'd probably end up jumping on her bed 'til she got tired enough to fall asleep but still, SO much fun!



The sound of ridiculous screaming caught her attention. She looked immediately to the Professor who seemed to have been having a nervous breakdown or something. At first she couldn't figure out why but then she saw it; the stain.

This explained why Mo had gone so quiet and was talking about the weather. She snickered.

"Quite weird, heard we might be having a chance of raining pasta later on. Need to be careful with your suits." Snicker. Everything seemed a whole lot more funny when one was covered in ice-cream, this had to be a fact.

“It is a game?” she chirped all wide-eyed at Mo “Oh! A tradition and a game? How wonderful! We have something like that at home too” except theirs wasn’t half as tasty, or messy for that matter. Arms still pinned to her sides , she still held the spoon which was drip-DRIPPING down Mo’s shoes.... and the floor. Merlin help whoever is walking down their way now...

She looked at Lex—now covered with ice cream. Epic. She used the term epic. Blond CLaw went beaming “You are very welcome Lex. I am honored to be part of this tradition.” And to do it right it seemed to her.

Then she gave a jump—a little one given how Mo still held her down—when the Starry Professor went screaming “Soot? There’s no ash on your clothes Sir. Its very neat.” she nodded earnestly, save for that colorful smear trailing down the middle. Hey it added more color. And colors are pretty, so says she.


She turns her head when Mo started murmuring, and looked up, then back to him, then to Lex, then up at the sky again. The weather was supposed to be weird? Raining pasta? She angles head thoughtfully then squints her eyes. This was some kind of divinatory test wasn’t it? “I think I can see a chicken leg...”

Granted, that cloud did look like one.

"No there isn't, my grandparents have several times but he doesn't listen." sighs thinking about the elf and how annoying he can be at times. "Maybe I can talk to my parents first, mom might can help me with telling her I already have plans while she's in London." Mack beamed surely her mother would, and grandmother always listened to her.

"I bet you do, too." And Alice would have tested to see if he did taste good if there weren't people surrounding them on all sides. Why were there so many people around, anyway? Half of them weren't even Gryffindors, and she was sure they were there for the sole purpose of taking her food. And that was not right, obviously.

She leaned away from the ice cream Mo was shaking off and grinned back at him. "Prefect car's not that great. And I can always find Selina later, anyway." Because cacti were the priority, obviously. Obviously.

"Let's not." Alice most definitely didn't want to talk about that. She fought the urge to glance over at the Slytherin table again and instead tried focusing on her ice cream. "You have dessert in your hair, did you know?" Oh. And an eating contest. "I'll go if Aireyhead here needs me to. But otherwise, I think I'll stay put. Watch you toss around food some more." Because this was INTERESTING.
