The bank of the Black Lake was definitely a different setting than the usual Divination Classroom high in the towers of Hogwarts Castle but that is where the rest of the lesson was to be held.
Professor Elwood walked over to the sandy and muddy soil and stood with her back to the water waiting for the trail of students to gather around her. The water was lapping near the heels of her sandal-ed feet.
OOC: Please post here at the Divination Lesson before having your character arrive at the Lake.
Minerva smiled as she saw Ethan come up behind her. Looking down at her footprint "It's not the best because the mud is cold and squishy. I think you were reading my mind on working together." smiling she was glad he had come over to her even though she wasn't feeling confident in her readings.
Watching over his shoulder as he read her footprint, Minerva smiled. He seemed really good at this. "Well that all sounds good, except the alone part." Min frowned a bit she actually hated being alone.
Smiling again she took the parchment "That was great Ethan. Now it's your turn to play in the mud." Stepping back Min gave him room to do his footprint.
This class really was full of distractions, wasn't it? Ethan had just handed over his parchment notes to Minerva when some very loud shouting caught his attention. He simply stared at the scene, a bit stunned at the level of disrespect that student was displaying, rolling his eyes at her when she got her well-deserved detention. Why take an elective if you hate it so much to the point of having to yell at the teacher? He gave Elwood a sympathetic smile before turning his attention back to the activity.
He chuckled a bit as Min responded to his interpretations. Yeah, he didn't think she liked being alone so much, but he also didn't know if maybe she was trying to hide that part of her. "Well, I guess some forms of Divination aren't 100% accurate.." That or his interpretations were off, which was just as likely. Good to know he wasn't too far off on the rest.
"Okay, my turn," he said as he rolled up his trouser leg a little more. Ethan pressed his right foot firmly into the mud, then lifted it up and stepped back so Minerva could see his footprint clearly. He watched her, wondering what she would interpret from his print.

So Kat nodded at her footprint which was just near Bee's. Erm... her foot wasn't that weird to look at right? Anyway, forget that. The fifth year then bent beside Bee's footprint and began to examine it. She kept checking her notes so as to make sure her interpretations were accurate.

Toes
The longer, the more logical and thoughtful a person is. Arch AKA the middle
The shorter, the more unaware a person is when it comes to things happening around them. The longer, the opposite. Heel
The deeper, the more well-rounded your health is.
Bee's toes were... long. That meant she was logical... SMART. Yeah, totally a Ravenclaw. Maybe all Claws had long toes. Right, right. Moving on, she looked at the girl's foot's middle... also known as 'ze arch'. It was long so Bee must be aware of the events around unlike Kat is. She recorded that then examined the print of the heel. It was... shallow. BLINK. Did that mean her health wasn't so well-rounded and stuff? That was scary.
So her recordings were done. Yay. Wonder what Bee thought of hers?
Was Bee done?
---
And then she stared at the Gryffindor who screamed at Elwood. MERLIN. This was a housepoint-losing session.
It was settled then. She was going to work with ze dazzler. She nodded and offered the snakette a small smile despite her quandary. When Kat began her work, she too walked up to where the girl's footprint could be found.
And as she took out a small piece of parchment, the Ravenclaw inspected the print whilst alternately referring to the notes she'd taken earlier on how Professor Elwood described the footprints along with its corresponding characteristics.

The heel was deep. That meant her health was well-rounded. Just what one Quidditch player would need.
When she was done, Beezus returned to where she left Kat. The girl's results were good...aside from the whole illogical bit part. But maybe she can work on that, yes?
"Here's your results, dazzler." the brunette winked at her friend as she handed the piece of parchment. She was about to reach for hers when a girl began screaming at the Professor.
"Holy snitch." JAW DROP.
Uh. Disrespect much? To be honest, there were times when she'd be so frustrated over this subject and would just like to sputter out how it's all nonsense BUT she would never do something like that. That act was just ridiculous, attention-seeking and downright displeasing. Her eyes went to the girl....a Gryffindor, hmm? Her bravery to speak up seemed to be way over her head. Detention. Well...she deserved that. Was Elwood not going to take points too?

A good question. "Well as interpreters of anything there's no way you can be 100% sure of what happened unless you were there when it did. I think you've done a very good job with what you have done though." It definitely wasn't as easy as some may have thought.
"Yes, that's also very common." Miss Wheatborn was a curious little Puff wasn't she? "It's very rare for someone to be good at everything they attempt. There are forms of Divination I am not even good at." They wouldn't be studying them for that exact reason.
Callie stood, staring at the troublesome Claw to be sure she didn't do anything else until Dylan was safely away.
Good, no retorts. With one last glance at her, the Divination Professor went off to check on the other students' progress. She noticed that Aspen was drawing in the sand but she wasn't jumping on people and was quiet...what more could she ask for really?
"Very interesting question, dear and one that would come up." She looked at the print the girl was studying. "What I would say is if you think the toes are long enough to be considered to belong to a logical person if they are even close to being just medium length means they are creative, or if the toes are oddly shaped or sticking in different directions than usual." That would certainly be unique and creative.
Callie had been about to start another round of checking up on the kids when a young Gryffindor approached her. She figured she just had a question about where to begin since she had noticed her standing off to the side before but she apparently didn't see what had just happened with the other students because she began to shout...at her.
Elwood was taken aback by the girl's audacity. Her face got redder and redder as the lion went on calling the subject she had devoted her entire life to stupid and a waste of time.
She said something about 'animal remains' which was odd because Callie didn't see any dead animals around, they were studying footprints, although she wasn't surprised by the girl's mistake she hadn't remembered her speaking up to answer a question or participating in the lesson until now.
Enough was enough, she had stayed as quiet and calm as possible until she couldn't any longer. "DETENTION!" Her shout was more shrill than when she had yelled at Aspen, that girl wasn't actually hurting anyone, this girl...she was personally attacking her as a Divination-enthusiast.
"You will NOT speak to me that way or about a subject that has been practiced and perfected by centuries of work, do you understand me? If you don't like it why did you attend my lesson today? It is an elective course Miss Paulidine. Now I would like for you to go back to the Castle immediately, you are no longer a part of this lesson and you will receive an owl about your punishment. I would suggest you think hard about attending my next lesson." Now, she wanted her out of her sight.
Breathing in deeply, Calista tried to compose herself for the other students. She felt like crying for having to yell at someone like that but she had basically called her a fake, right there in front of everyone, and that was NOT okay.
Minerva listened as Professor Elwood answered her questions. She made her feel better as well, at least Minerva didn't feel totally lost anymore. She thought maybe she wasn't as far off as she originally thought. "Thank you professor, that helps so much." She turned just as another student started screaming. Minerva's head jerked up, really.. what was this girl thinking. If she didn't like the class why was she in it. There always had to be one to ruin it for the rest of them. Minerva gave a concerned look to Professor Elwood and then turned back to her own work.

SPOILER!!: Ethan's footprint
Heel is deep, instep/arch is medium to shallow, toes are long
Minerva watched as Ethan put his foot into the mud. He did it so much nicer then she had. Why didn't she take more time to get it right, instead of having such an odd looking foot. As she saw Ethan's footprint Minerva smiled, "You did a great job!" He really did, it was a clear print that was going to be easy to look at.
Walking over to it Minerva started with the heel and worked her way up, "Well.. Let's see your heel is deep, which means something about health. What did that mean again. Minerva thought for a second and smiled up at him. Well the deeper your heel the more well rounded your health is, so your heel looks deep. That sounds like a good thing for you." Minerva really did think that sounded like Ethan, so she hoped he would agree.
Now for the arch.. Minerva looked at the middle of his foot. "Your arch seems to be in the middle of what Professor Elwood described. It's not short, but it's deep and long either. So I think this means that you are in the middle when it comes to living in the moment. I think it means that in some situations you will take your time and think, but others you go with your emotions and live in the moment." Looking up at Ethan she hoped she was making sense with this stuff.
Now the toes, Minerva looked up at the toes and saw that they were long. Her mind drifted to the thought that even his footprint was cute. She shook the thought out of her head, she needed to concentrate at the moment. "Toes are longer, which means that your a thoughtful person." Minerva smiled, "Well if anything I think that one is exactly correct." Minerva stood up and took out her parchment writing these down and then handed them to him.
Quote:
Heel deep: Which means your health is well rounded.
Arch is in the middle: Which means you sometimes live in the moment, other time think before acting.
Toes longer: Which means you are a thoughtful person.

Harvey watched a fellow claw and a Slytherin doing something on the floor, what was it these days and PDAs happening everywhere. Though he could understand, if he and Ella hadnt broken up. He knew he would be given detention before you could say Harvey Watson, but now things were different. He then listened as the professor explained how to read footprints, like palmistry? He hadnt done that so maybe it would be fun to do! So he lifted up his foot and punched it down into the sad and he looked at it.. mm he wondered what that meant.. he looked around for anyone that wasnt reading anyone's foot, that sounded strange to say but thats what they were doing
SPOILER!!: A very rushed drawing, so no laughing! I see you all holding it in! lol!
Mika, who happened to have been close enough to see Apsen's drawing just chuckled. Ravenclaw. Awesome. Yes, it was absolutely true. Snakes were food to ravens - point one to Ravenclaw.
And still they were fifteen points behind Slytherin. She was going to GET them for that. It was strange - one Odessa had gotten points the other had lost them.
She just shrugged and looked back at Nina's print - it was then that she just giggled. Her cold feet were sooooooo cold and yet she couldn't help but giggle.
SPOILER!!: notes
The toes are spread apart and long compared to the rest of the foot. Indicating that she is smart but not Einstein (which is good because who wants to be Einstein he had creepy hair)
Her arch is low which indicates that she is aloof and unaware - which goes along with the not-so-long but not-too-short toes.
Her heels are deep which indicates that she is in tune with her health and is relatively healthy in a well-roundedly healthy sort of way.
There.
Now she wanted to do more. Even more, yuppers.
"That was fun - i ugh see someone who needs a partner though so imma help!" She beamed.
"Hey I don't think i know your name" she waved over to Aquila and just smiled. Yeah she was friendly. Superduperfriendly. "Do you still need a partner?" She asked happily. " 'cause i don't really but i'd totally work with you aswell!" Yeah she was just that awesome.
Before Nina could start writing what Mika's footprint meant, the girl was already done with hers. She grabbed the piece of parchment and read it, Mika's interpretation was pretty acurrate which scared her a bit. The fourth year looked up to the girl "Wow...accurate" said nodding. "Thanks, I'll finish yours now". Reading her notes on what every print meant, she started to make her interpretation
SPOILER!!: PARCHMENT
Toes appeared to be long which means she is a very smart, logical person. She will find a way to solve any problem and won't do anything without thinking first.
Arch is low meaning she is aloof and unaware of what is going on, she might avoid any situation that affects her.
Heel is deep which means she is emotionally and physically stable and has a good health.
"Here you go" said Nina and gave Mika the piece of parchment. Nina barely opened her mouth and Mika was already talking to a younger girl, the Ravenclaw seemed to be in a candy overdose (or something like that) because she couldn't stay in one place. Oh well. At least she was helping.
Yeah I broke that mirror, so what? ll NOT backward ll Official Gryfferin ll Lemon's favourite
She nodded at the girl's statement but gave no further answer. There was no way she was going to chance it. For all she knew the girl might have been horrible--not saying she was but Lex needed to prove that before telling her it was nice to meet her or anything like that.
Right. Back to the print. She plopped down in the sand and began scribbling. Every now and then she would look back at it to make sure she was getting it right but she was pretty sure that it was going just fine.
SPOILER!!: Parchment with Interpretation
Quote:
After carefully looking at these prints I think I've got a pretty good idea of what it's saying. Her toes length aren't all that long. If I'm right she could be scattered brain...not much logic I'm guessing. The arch is long or well it looks long so I'll call it that which means she's rather aware. That sorta makes up for the lack of brains maybe; I hope it does. The heel is pretty deep too. This means she's healthy, very healthy and the Healer won't have an extra student to worry about anytime soon. She'll appreciate this.
As she scrawled the final words onto the parchment she heard someone shouting. Quite curious she looked over and her mouth fell open.
cbkjdvdkcbdk!!!
Was she stupid or something?! Why in merlin's beard would anyone say that to a Professor. Uuuuugh. Lex braced herself for the point loss but really she felt the girl deserved a detention. Stupidity was something one deserved to be personally punished for.
Ah hah, and she got it. Good. Nice work Professor. Here's to hoping she grew a brain while she was down in the dungeons.

"I doubt it," Bliss told him. He seemed to be good in all subjects. He always gave long and detailed answers and they were always right. So there was no way he could be rubbish at this. "Hmmm, yeah. It would be. Maybe...maybe you would look at it differently if it were like that?" Just a suggestion. Maybe there were different ways of reading the footprint of someone that was running and just walking. Divination was definitely a very precise subject.
The fourteen-year-old looked back at her previous notes on what each thing meant and compared them to West's foot features.
Okay. He had long toes, which meant that he was a thoughtful and logical person. That seemed right. Arch...that was...it was a high arch, so she could only see part of the imprint. Did that mean it was short? In which case, that meant that West is aloof and unaware of what goes on around him. HUH. Maybe? No? Lastly the heel, that was deep, so that meant that his health is in tune and well-rounded.
Right then.
Bliss scribbled she notes and passed them to West. "Here you go, they look...sort of right....maybe." She shrugged at him. They seemed random if you asked her. But at least she'd done the task. Now she'd just have to wait for her results.
SPOILER!!: westprint results
-Long toes: A thoughtful and logical person.
-High/Short Arch: Aloof and unaware of what goes on around them.
-Deep heel: Health is in tune and well-rounded.
"Yeah but if its stuff about your personality, that is stuff what wouldn't change from one step to the next. Wouldn't it be easier to just look at someone's foot to figure all this stuff out?" He took the notes and looked at them.
... was he aloof?
Also, was that Ravenclaw over there missing a toe?
Additionally, was the professor going to cry?
So naturally West stuck his hand up.
"Professor, I have questions."

Peyton tried not to stare at the Gryffindor that lashed out at Professor Elwood - her daddy says staring is rude. Still, that was...ruuuuude. And this professor was nice. Like, NICE. Peyton would have to remember to thank her for the lesson afterward, because she's actually paying attention...and doing her work.
It was time for the next assignment now. Peyton listened intently and wrote done several notes on her parchment, then got onto making her own print. Ewww, hehe. The mud felt mushy. Very mushy. She pressed her foot down and let it rest for a little, then stepped aside to view her art.
Heh! That was a pretty nice footprint if anyone asked her. Leaving her post, Peyton made way to find someone else's footprint and put her Divi-cap on. GRIN.
"Well, I attended it cause usually divination classes have been fun stupid in the past. This class is what I liked to call, stupid, stupid", Oichi responed to the professor and then without another word she left the ibosolic divinations class and headed back to the castle. The reaction of the professor had been priceless and so worth the detention she was gonna recieve for it.
Breathe....breathe...
Calista had suddenly wished she had spent more time with Professor Romanos when she was meditating but that was hindsight. She still had enough restraint to not rely to the girl's further remarks.
She watched her head towards the Castle and turned back to the class.

Speaking of kicking, her most frequent victim to kicking was suddenly at her side and spouting off that he was going to look at her print. Woah, woah, woah. Did she not have a say in this? "Also, I think what this says about you...is that you very straightforward and blunt."
Ah, okay... there was his footprint. Way to make it ALL the way over there, Dylan. The redhead could have kicked him, which she usually did anyway, but she would have done it for a reason BEYOND just for the fun of it. If they were going to work together then why in Merlin's bloody name was his footprint ALL the way over there. Idiot. Merlin, he did things sometimes that just was asking for a smacking. Dummy.
So collecting herself, she walked over to his foot print in a huff. Work. Walking ALL of seven feet. He was so rude sometimes, why couldn't he have just stepped over here... well, done his FOOTPRINT over here. Because technically he had just stepped beside her.
Looking down at his footprint though, she tried to analyze what his footprint meant. There was a much easier way for her to handle the whole future thing if he was curious, but then again, that defeated the point of the exercise. Yeah... and also, she wasn't sure that... um, nevermind. BACK TO THE FOOTPRINT.
Tilting her head to look at his footprint she yelled over to him, "Oi, Dylan? Did you have to dig your heel into the ground? A little angry no?" Or anxious. Heh. She could buy the second one. The redhead nearly thought her best friend was going to wet himself when the elder Odessa had him pinned to the ground to take his eyes. Yes, his eyes. Heh.
Listening to HIS interpretation of her footprint, she had to stop herself from sarcastically yelling out No, really, Captain obvious. The things that he had said were all things that he KNEW about her. But she kept that to herself, except for the whole turning around and running thing. Yeah, she rarely ran from anything. Not in her to do that... with the exception of a few things. VERY few things.
"Sounds realistic," Selina said about Dylan's response. Looking down at his own footprint, she said, "Your heel, as I said before, was totally dug into the ground. And I think that means that you're extremely anxious about something. You're pressing something deep down into yourself or technically the ground..." Was he hiding something? HUH? WAS HE? Eh, probably. They'd have to talk about that.
"Also," she added, "Your foot is nearly narrow toward the center, which could mean that you are heading down one specific, narrow path right now." That was dangerous, Dyl.

Elwood, prepare thyself.
West sort of had his hand up as he launched into his questions.
"So like, couldn't you manipulate how your footprint looks and then change the reading because you smooshed your foot strangely or didn't put that much pressure down or squidged your toes? And wouldn't the footprint be different depending on what surface it is and how wet or dry or solid or how much give it has? And also if you were running or something, the front bit would be deeper than the back and then people would think you're unhealthy which is weird because if you're running, probably you're fit and strong like me? And what about if you were moving backwards or sideways? How could a certain thing about how it looks actually mean what it does if it looks different? Wouldn't it be easier to just look at someone's foot? Is that a thing? What is it called to divine something by a foot? Is it the same as palmistry but with feet? Soleistry? Would you have to touch the person's foot? Isn't that a bit gross? Aren't feet sometimes gross? Could you divine by the smell of a foot? How come divining from animal tracks is different to divining people tracks? Like we weren't trying to figure out the animals' personalities and we're trying to figure out each others? How come the meanings are so general? Whats the point of them if they're just statements you could make about anyone anyway? Have you heard of anthropometry?" That one was barely related, he just wanted to know if she had, "What about if you lost a toe," Like that one Ravenclaw over there who apparently was missing one, "It'd effect your footprint but not your personality, what then?"
Just a few questions to warm up. West waited expectantly and let his hand drop.

West... he asked a lot of questions, good ones too, and ones that Mo very much wanted to know the answer to as well. He meandered closer to hear the answer, although half of his attention was fixated well away from the multitude of questions and on that very angry Gryffindor who had stalked off to the castle. Maybe she didn't eat enough fiber. That made people really cranky.
Worse, she'd probably hurt Professor Pretty's feelings, and it heart Mo for Professor Pretty to be sad. It was a shame they were here on the beach, because he knew that the answer to all forms of heartbreak and sadness was to give flowers. His father always gave his mother flowers, which was funny on account of his mother was the one who GREW those flowers.
Anything in a pinch, though, right? Mo grabbed up a handful of cattails before finally taking up a spot near West. He offered his cattails in a stubby little bouquet. "I think that girl's footprint shows that she has no inner eye and that her shoes are too tight. And she needs more fiber. Shallow heels, you know? Very unhealthy."
Peyton squished and squashed her way around her classmates looking for a spare footprint. There seem to be not many left if any. She then came upon an okay footprint. It looked workable, but there was someone already there...the girl could share right? Meh. Sharing was caring whatever, Peyton wanted that print.
She grinned at the girl once and turned to the footprint. Okaaaay, Divi-cap on? Yep. Time to get analyzing!

She didn't waste any time. Her footprint ended up looking like this:
She looked at it for a minutes to make sure it was at least readable. Looked good to her. She shrugged to herself. So what was she meant to be doing now? Oh. Right. She needed to go find somebody else's footprint now. So on a footprint search she went.
Peyton traced the footprint's shaped in the air above it with her quill. Hmm...the arch area wasn't too short nor too long. Somewhat in-between. The heel, now that was deep and if she remembered correctly from what Professor Elwood said, was a good thing. The toes. Hmmm. Peyton tapped her quill on her cheek. They seem to be long. Somewhat.
The third year wrote her brief observations on her parchment. She wanted to peek at the girl's parchment, not because she was cheating, but because she wanted to make sure she was doing this assignment correctly, but then again what if they saw things differently. Yeah. Besides, the redhead believed she had sharp eyesight so she'd go with what she already has down.
This is what she wrote:

Heel: the heal in this print is deep meaning the owner is healthy, which is a really good thing!
There! That was quite a bit of observing for today. Which was an accomplishment because Peyton would rather be hiding behind a comic book or out in the air on her broom.
Now she had to find the owner of this footprint. Peyton had seen Sierra here earlier, you know, her Prefect. Maybe this footprint belonged to her. Only one way to find out...
Laura looked at the Professor and sighed. "Professor you've just kicked my partner into touch." Laura sighed, how was she supposed to do her work when the Professor had sin bin her partner and given her a detention. "Professor I don't know what to do now?" Laura sighed this was going to be really hard with her partner evicted, gone, out-of there.
Ethan stood back and watched Minerva as she began interpreting the different attributes of his footprint. She really seemed to know what she was doing as she gave a detailed observation. Well-rounded health.. that sounded like a good thing and he nodded as she she that.
He tilted his head slightly to listen to the rest as she continued to work her way up the print, his eyes looking between her and his footprint. He smiled at the second attribute. That sounded like him.. yes, depending on what the situation was usually determined if he acted logically or emotionally.. and thoughtful? Ethan mirrored Minerva's smile. He supposed he often was..
"Well, those sound fairly accurate, I think," he said as he took the parchment from her. "You're pretty good at this," he added with a grin. Not a bad class, really, even if he thought Ichnomancy was a bit vague.. and it felt like class would be wrapping up soon which was always a good thing..

COOOL!
Nerida was never allowed to play in the mud...It wasn't a girl thing apparently... She looked around for a patch of sand or mud. Seeing some she skipped over to them and walked into them... Turning around...The sand ones were horrible.... The Ravenclaw looked around and found a patch of mud.. She moved forward hoping these ones turned out good. Turning around again she saw two almost perfect prints and four horrible prints... Looks like its the perfect ones!
The fifth year glanced around looking for somebody that didn't have a partner...Hmm where was anybody... Seeing a young looking girl, she walked over to her. "Do you have a partner?" She looked alone but maybe someone was around...
SPOILER!!: Footprint
The little girl was shaking off the sand from a few curious looking pebbles when there were two girls approaching her. Brown eyes brightening up considerably, she realized the girls had on BLUE neckties-- just like her! "Hello!" she chirped brightly, looking at them both and answering the older one's question "My name is Aquila, whats yours?" a question to them both as she looked between one and the other.
Oh they need partners? "I dont have one yet, but yeah I can read your prints." she nodded at the younger girl (Nerida). She started to walk towards where the girl's prints are when she gave yet another jump-- the pretty Professor was YELLING again, this time to a Gryffindor. And Merlin be merciful she was ANGRY.
Aquila has known how to behave in front of really angry Seers--Priestesses back at home, now the Divinations Professor. She tiptoed to the spot where the foot prints are and pretty much buried her nose in her parchment, her long hair covering pretty much everything else in her peripheral vision, focusing on observing the other girl's footprints.
Quote:
(Nerida's prints)
Toes= They are of average distance from the rest of the foot, so perhaps the person is rather thoughtful and logical but not obsessively so
Arch= is of medium length so they are not quite aloof or impulsive but is moderately aware of things happening around them
Heel: It is very deep, so its safe to say that this person's health is pretty well rounded.
Yeah thats what crazy is, when its broken you say theres nothing to fix++++++++++++++++++++ +++++++And you pray that everything will be okay, while you're making all the same mistakes
Mika just blinked and looked over to West, quickly stepping closer she glanced at the person who was missing a toe in their footprint. Yeah that was strange.
She couldn't help but giggle quietly when she heard Mo obviously flirting with Professor Elwood. She just glanced over to West and with a hushed chuckle she asked.
"Are they really missing a toe in that print?" She asked whispering and glancing over towards West. Yeah he was observant and maybe she wasn't the only one who noticed the four-toed person. And maybe even, she wasn't the only one who noticed the person with the toenails on the bottom of their foot. "Hey did you see that person with the toenails on the bottom of their foot?" She asked with a little laugh.
She glanced up when she heard Aquila speak up and smiled over to her.
"Hey I'm Amelia, but you can call me Mika!" she smiled over to her. "Yeah print reading is fun isn't it?" She asked excitedly, "Did ya see the missing-toe print? or the person with toenails on the bottom of their foot?" She asked with a giggle. "Scrunching the toes i bet because of the cold." Yeah that had to be the answer.

Fates.. or whoever dishes out these opportunities.. to maybe give it to someone else, 'cause I don't need one?"
OH. They had to make prints?
The fourth year promptly started to stomp around in the mud and walked around in a giant circle. Those prints looked pretty Alice-like, didn't they? 'Course they did. NOW. She needed a partner. Hmm. Only a couple of people had already finished making theirs, so she bounced over to a girl— wasn't she a friend of Selina's?— who seemed to be done.
"Need a partner?" Beam.
Violet turned her head hearing someone approach her. She smiled and nodded immediately,"I would love that!" Violet giggled a little bit and then said,"I'm Violet.." She then pointed to where her footprint was. "My foot print is right over there! And it has my name next to it, so it shouldn't be too difficult to find.." She giggled again and then judging by the circle of footprints beside the younger girl Violet smiled asking,"I take it that these are yours?" She brushed some of her hair out of her face and she began looking at some of her prints, trying to make out a good one. Violet began scribbling away when she did find one on a clean parchment.

Dylan eyed his best friend, trying to figure out where she was going with this. He was NOT anxious....Well, okay...He was about the whole Aspen thing, but that wasn't an overall characteristic of his personality.
HMMMMMMMMMM.
He listened to what she had to say and nodded. It was just an interpretation...That was all.
"Well, okay..." Taking a second look at her footprint, he squinted. What else could he say about this...Oh, wait. What had the Professor noted? The longer the toes, the more throughtful and logical...The shorter the arch, typically unaware of surroundings...The deeper the hell, something about health. Right? He eyeballed it. "Your toes aren't that long...So, you aren't that logical, according to what Professor Elwood said." Totally legit. Especially when cookies or ickles were involved. "Your arch is a bit shorter...and that add's to what the shorter toes mean, I think...Generally unaware of surroundings. Like when you're eating cookies...or scaring someone." Dylan was smiling at her...He adored her, really.
"...And your heel is deep. That means you're healthy. Although, with how you eat, I don't know how."
Cue infuriating grin.

First Analysis "So, I think your footprint says that you are a forceful person, since the whole thing looks deep. You must have stomped instead of stepped. Peyton was still seeking Sierra when she over heard something. She wasn't eavesdropping or anything, she just walked by at the same time the girl spoke. And apparently little-miss-mean lion had been her partner.
"I don't think anyone's examined my footprint if you want to use it," she said, pointing at the spot where she had done her little piece of foot art. She was being nice. Why? First because she had no idea this girl was a Hufflepuff and second, because she wanted someone to look at her footprint. Hehe.

Laura looked at the footprint and smiled this was going to be fun. "Well the first thing I see about your footprint is that your feet are massive, a size 8 or 9 I would say." Second Analysis Toes: Appear to be a bit shorter...So, she's not very logical (which seems legit) Arch: It is shorter, meaning she is typically unaware of things around her. Especially when food or cookies are involved. Heel: Her heel IS deep. She's extremely healthy.
Not logical? WHAT WAS THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN?! Ugh, that was totally unfair to her and her sanity. She was one hundred percent logical. The seventh year had a bat named Mortimer and had a dream to be a Bond Girl- that was one hundred percent logical SO THERE. Ha. In your face Dylan. He probably was going to feel super stupid when he remembered that.
And then he went on and on about how she wasn't logical more. Hmph. Well then, fine. If he was going to be that way two could play at that game. She could dish it out JUST as much as he could and then he would see how LOGICAL she could be. Duh.
"Well, you have fat toes," Not that had anything to do with anything. She just felt like she should point out because she wanted to. So THERE Dylan. Take that. And then, he said with a smile something about cookies and such and how she was sort of unaware when she was eating. She wanted to be mad at him, but he made it SO hard to stay mad at him. So she just shook her head and pushed his shoulder playfully, "Okay... that's fair, fat toes." He did have fat toes.
Looking at his footprint though, she was rather displeased to see that his arch was pretty long and so were his toes, which meant that he was logical. Well, he was just going to get a KICK out of that. Merlin, well that was just her luck. Because apparently she wasn't logical. Hmph, whatever.
Mumbling she said, "And you have a long, deep arch, which I GUESS means you're logical or whatever." Yeah, yeah... smirk all you want, Dylan. She knew it was coming. Anyway, she continued on, "You really dug your heel into the ground, you know because of the anxious thing, so I can't tell if you are healthy or just anxious." Next time be more clear, Dylan.

Also, was that Ravenclaw over there missing a toe?
Additionally, was the professor going to cry?
So naturally West stuck his hand up.
"Professor, I have questions."
"That's true." How big was West's brain? Seriously. Bliss nearly always just accepted things and didn't question them, but West...West saw the big picture and all the ins and outs of stuff. "You wouldn't like it if I stuck my foot in your place though, would you?" She pointed out and laughed. Not to mention that if he went to swat it away, he might tickle her and then she'd have a fit of giggles. Never a good thing.
Bliss blinked. Questions. This should be interesting...

BLINK BLINK. Questions, although that was plural, it was STILL not enough for the mountain of words that had come out of his mouth. Bliss just stood there, blinking. It didn't look like she getting her partner back for a while.
Laura was a bit scared of this girl seriously had she just been ears-dropping her conversation with the Professor because otherwise how did she know what was going on. "I'm Laura." Laura tried to be polite to the girl, she wasn't giving her full name to the girl, she wasn't sure she liked them.

Peyton send Laura a polite grin. She got a feeling the girl wasn't feeling at ease with her. She didn't bite, hehe. "I'm Peyton," she said.
Wait. Massive feet? O__O
Peyton tried not to gape at Laura. Did she just call her a bigfoot? Cool it, Baltazar. You don't want to lose points. "Ahem." Peyton cleared her throat. "I'm a size five." Yeah. Oh! But she liked her foot. That was nice. "Thank you," she said, while examining her own footprint.
She waited for Laura to continue, but it didn't happen. "Okay, so now you analyze my footprint like professor Elwood said. Lets start with my toes. Do they look long or short?" she said. "And what does that mean in Divination?" That's how she had started.
