Default Divination Part 2 at the edge of the Lake

Divination Lesson Part 2
Edge of the Lake

The bank of the Black Lake was definitely a different setting than the usual Divination Classroom high in the towers of Hogwarts Castle but that is where the rest of the lesson was to be held.

Professor Elwood walked over to the sandy and muddy soil and stood with her back to the water waiting for the trail of students to gather around her. The water was lapping near the heels of her sandal-ed feet.

OOC: Please post here at the Divination Lesson before having your character arrive at the Lake.

Drawing. Do we look like budding artists? Nope! All Rawdon wanted to do was let out a loud roar of frustration but he realized that he'd have to show the world his lack of artistic talent. Stick figures, yes. Does a stick foot count?

He shrugged his shoulders and let out a deep sigh as he made his way over to a muddy section. That Aspen girl had better be good at cleaning feet after losing us points. He didn't see what happened but he did hear Professor Elwood yell.

Rawdon stepped forward with his right foot and planted it on the muddy sand. "It's COLD!" he exclaimed rather loudly as he placed some weight on his right leg so that the imprint would be nice and clear. The cold mud squished between his toes as he slowly removed his foot.

Now that he had a clear footprint and a muddy foot, he flipped his notebook to a blank page and stared at it. Then he started to draw.

SPOILER!!: Rawdon's Footprint Drawing

When he finished, looked around to see if there was anyone who needed a partner.

Yeah I broke that mirror, so what? ll NOT backward ll Official Gryfferin ll Lemon's favourite

Following the others, she headed over to the Professor. She was still freaking out a bit about the whole having her candy stolen again thing and at the moment she was trying to get her chocolate frogs finished before that prophecy or whatever had a chance to become true.

She got through with the last frog in time to hear the Professor say that they'd be making their own footprints and reading others. Lex wouldn't pay attention to the part where she'd have Aspen washing her feet because that just wasn't going to happen. Nope. Her feet suited her quite well when they weren't on fire. She'd heard the stories too and didn't think testing their validity would be a good idea. Not in this case anyway.

Instructions received she wandered off to find a nice spot for leaving a footprint.

When she found a good enough one she did a good, hard stomp. You know...so the footprint would be all nicely defined and stuff. Stepping back she beamed at the deep print she had left in the ground.

It was well done.

SPOILER!!: Footprint

It was a reasonable request.

And Aspen would consider it.

Who knew if she could even get an eye out with her fingers? She might not have the tools. So, maybe she'd leave them..

All the while the girl's third year brother watched on and then suggested not to poke Dylan's the victim's eyes out because they needed him for Quidditch or something like that.

O_________O

"ASPEN ODESSA!" Callie pulled her wand out and immediately levitated the girl off of the boy and sat her down a good 10 feet away. "What has gotten into you?!" Honestly though she was yelling at herself for leaving the two together and not expecting something strange from this girl. "As a seventh year and bright student I would have expected better from you as a role model, especially with your brother present. Ten points from Ravenclaw for your... indiscretions!"

And then she turned to the Slytherin on the floor, no doubt terrified. He wasn't completely innocent either he hadn't told her to stop....whatever it was she was doing to him. "Mr. Montmorency, I don't know what is going on here but I expect you to finish the assignment I have given you and not to go near her for the remainder of the lesson, do you hear me?" She gave him a look with her blue eyes that said she meant business. She hadn't expected this from him. She tired to find West but she couldn't see straight, hopefully he had started his work.

"As further punishment, the both of you will be spray-cleaning everyone's feet when class is dismissed. Do I make myself clear?" She had been merciful, she could have easily gotten buckets and sponges from the Groundskeeper and liked the trip over there to boot!.

The silent was silent, but boy did Aspen Odessa give a HUGE, INNER, MEANINGFUL sigh to all of that.

First, the Professor levitated her off of Dylan. Just when Aspen was getting somewhere.... Not to mention, him WIGGLING and struggling under her? Haha had she gotten to him after all? The Professor was totally interrupting something that needed to be done.

Then, Professor Elwood started squawking those stupid adult questions that don't have real answers. Followed by a REALLY bothersome comment about role models. If Elwood had ANY sort of inner eye, she'd know that Aspen was taking Dylan's eye out 1. because HE was her little brother's role model and had been flirting with her in class and 2. the Professor had more or less instructed her to do so.

So why had she lost points?

And ONLY her?

Typical. So typical. Aspen had NOTHING to say in response, so she just sat where she was placed. She did get her wand out though, you know, to prepare for feet washing. Ahem. That was why, sure.

SPOILER!!: Dylan, who was taken down by a girl, and rescued by another girl. Just saying.

She did. Timber. Two seventh years, falling down because of a pair of imaginary snakes. Nothing out of the ordinary about that.

And they'd make some animal tracks of their own, see? They were contributing to the lesson. One that came across their prints might predict a one-eyed Captain getting intimidated after all.

She put her hand over his mouth to try and ease the situation. "We're okay! I think it was just a stick. My bad. Sorry, Professor." Everyone go back to what they were doing. Aspen turned her attention back to Dylan, whom she was very much on top of in all the chaos. He wasn't going anywhere without bucking her off. Sooo.... her fingers crept up from his mouth... tip-toed on fingertips... and walked slooowly up to his eye....

What in the.....

Suddenly the next thing Dylan knew, Aspen Odessa was on top of him...clamping his mouth shut with her hand. All he could do was STARE at the Ravenclaw and her audacity. No one had ever...attacked him like this...

O.O

THEY WERE NOT OKAY!

STARE!

He wriggled beneath her, trying everything in his physical power to get her off of him. She was still giving him the crazy eye...Wait! She wasn't really going to try and take his eyes, was she?! The Slytherin fought against her...but it was in vain...Ravvie!Odessa had him...pinned in an awkward way...and it FELT awkward...

GAH!

YES, save your Captain from your hot dangerous older sister....

Dylan struggled against her more so, pushing himself against her with force, trying to catch her off guard...or something. Merlin...

This whole situation...FELT.......weird...and vastly inappropriate...

It was short lived, though. Professor Elwood was coming to his rescue! Merlin, Dylan could've kissed her...NOT that he would...She was a Professor and that would've been...frowned upon.

When Aspen was lifted off his body, the Slytherin immediately stood, brushing dirt off his clothing. As a response to the Professor...he didn't WANT to go anywhere near her at the moment. It wasn't like he'd been willing! Why was Elwood looking at them like that? It hadn't been what she'd thought!!

.......Not that the Slytherin hadn't encouraged the argument. The Professor had a point. He could've made a huge fuss and told her 'NO' and 'STOP'...

Also...

Dylan could not believe he was being made to clean...feet. Totally gross...and what made that worse...He was not a fan of feet. They quite literally disgusted him in every possible way. Ewww.

The Captain would concede, though. Really, he didn't want anymore trouble. "Yes........ma'am." It was gritted out and sounded quite painful to say...

He walked off to find some nice...snake tracks to analyse. Crazy females. All of them.
________________

Dylan wandered for a bit, still trying to calm himself down from the physical manhandling. Merlin, it was going to put him in a sour mood for the rest of the day. He could just feel it...

.......

SNAKE TRACKS!

Allowing (forcing, actually) his attention to zero in and the tracks, he squatted, getting a closer look. Hmmm, he offhandedly wondered if he could correlate this to himself...since he was a different kind of snake...but STILL a snake.

Snake-y behavior in general...

"It seems like this particular snake wasn't locked onto anything in particular. His tracks aren't straightforward..." Dylan had seen many snake-tracks. The ones that were just straight with no deviating were the ones that had an eye on the prize...maybe? "If I seen this, perhaps I'd think I was...going to have a rather endless day? Maybe nothing of significance would happen?"...because if the snake was just wandering around...that couldn't have meant excitement.

Yea, he wasn't that good at this...and his mind was still...rattled.

Dylan WOULD get Aspen Odessa back.

He was doing it again. He didn't even KNOW that answered every question with an invisible question mark at the end of his sentence.

It was SO annoying.

Aspen wasn't making any prints, lest she go NEAR Dylan. Instead, she just watched from the sidelines, her wand tapping into her opposite palm. Her eyes, for the most part, just followed Dylan around with visions of...

...fun times... dancing in her head.

There. That was his prey right there. Older Ravenclaw with decent hair and some sort of disgust for mud. Or for cold feet. Either way, he drew Mo's attention, and the younger boy circled his pray with squinty eyes and intense concentration.

"The Branxton beast spots his next meal..." he muttered to himself before realizing that all the circling was doing a fair job of ruining other footprints and disturbing the otherwise pristine sand. "Nope. Bored of this game now."

He paused in his circling once he was at the other Ravenclaw's elbow. "Hey. Can I look at your footprint and tell you all about you? I'm Mo, by the way. Third year, but I'm gifted when it comes to footprints."

Default Post 1 (Ethan) Professor question as well..
Puff by day, snake by night | Mj's bestie | Always UP to Something...

Minerva listened to the next activity and felt excited to be able to make her own print. Oh she was excited to find out what it would mean and then felt nervous about needing to read someone else's. "Professor in Divinations is it common to maybe be good at some forms of readings and maybe not so good in others?" She just felt a little off with this reading and in other terms felt more confident and she wasn't sure why. Thinking this could be a good reason she decided to ask.

Minerva walked to an area and stepped down in the mud. It was cold, but squishy and kind of tickled on her foot. She laughed a bit, this was fun. Picking her foot up she looked at it, alright it was good enough, even though the middle of her foot was less dominate then the toes and heel, but it would work. She looked up to see if Ethan had found a partner or if he wanted to work with her. She was hoping he would want to work with her.

SPOILER!!: print

Since Aspen had time to kill before she had to clean feet, she used a stick to make some prints of her own. With the soft mud, it was pretty easy to draw lines and make a decent picture.

SPOILER!!: Ahem. Interpret this print by this human

Mo took the parchment and gave it a puzzled look before tucking it under his arm and indicating his own footprint not too far away. "Thanks, Rawdon. I think I might use your actual footprint too, though, if you don't mind." And he could write his insights right there on the parchment with Rawdon's artwork.

Speaking of... Mo saluted the older boy before crouching beside the footprint in the sand. Big feet... or bigger feet than Mo had and bigger feet than some of the girls leaving footprints around them. Too bad that didn't mean something too. So not the size or the length. Not really even the width. What was it again that pretty Professor had said?

Right, the distance of the toes indicated how long they were, and it suggested if a person was super brainy or not, right? Or if they were logical... wouldn't all Ravenclaws have long toes? Only Rawdon had sort of short toes, or normal length ones instead. What did that mean? Professor Pretty hadn't said!

HOLISTIC ACTRESS {X O} EVERYTHING IS CONNECTED

Mika was shivering like crazy. And she was nervous that her toes would never be the same after the freeztastical mud-bath they had just received. Really, it would have been more fun to walk on hot coals for three days.

She did feel bad for everyone who had lost points - cleaning other people's feel just sounded shudder, disgusting. She wanted to gag but she had a feeling those poor people would have to clean that too.

Walking through the muddiest section she could find Mika just shivered and glanced down at her footprint. It wasn't a pretty picture really. Feet just weren't her thing. Flipping to an empty page on her notebook she quickly jotted down a horrid sketch of her footprint onto the page.

She clearly was no artist.

SPOILER!!: print

Totally forgot to say the right words...high/medium meaning deep, low meaning shallow.

As she finished she quickly began to look for other footprints to find.

See, it's all in the prints. The Universe wasn't out to get all of them, unless they did something horrible of course and that was just Karma.
"Really?" HMPH. Oh. Well. "But I don't want an opportunity. I LIKE my life. So am I allowed to sit at the dead end, if I want?" Yeah. She could do that. Her life was already awesome, mmhmm. She had nice friends and a Selina— the bat AND the person— and a badge and.. nope. Nothing she'd want to change or get. No opportunities needed here. "Or could I possibly ask the.. uhm.. Fates.. or whoever dishes out these opportunities.. to maybe give it to someone else, 'cause I don't need one?"

OH. They had to make prints?

The fourth year promptly started to stomp around in the mud and walked around in a giant circle. Those prints looked pretty Alice-like, didn't they? 'Course they did. NOW. She needed a partner. Hmm. Only a couple of people had already finished making theirs, so she bounced over to a girl— wasn't she a friend of Selina's?— who seemed to be done.

She then heard the Professor continue on with the lesson and the next thing she wanted them to do was find a pair of tracks on their own and study them. Violet paused..seemed simple enough. But the problem was...she was going to have to walk in the squishy mud again. Violet winced at the thought but... SQUISH SQUISH SQUISH Oh it was even more agonizing than the last time!

But thankfully it didn't take Violet very long to find a very interesting pair of tracks that she began immediately studying. They were rather odd looking, not ones that she was used to seeing. And she was studying them for a good couple of seconds until she was to make out..a deer maybe? And judging by the prints they seemed to a little all over the place, going this way then that way. Seems to her that there must have been a lot going on for that deer. Violet turned her attention towards the Professor raising her hand,"Professor, I do believe that these are the prints of a deer.. And judging by what the prints are showing, it seems that there must have been a bit of confusion going on with the poor deer..I think maybe it had gotten lost perhaps..or maybe it was just going to get a drink by the lake at the last minute...Or maybe..it thought it heard something and turned suddenly prepared to run.."

Before she could hear what the Professor had to say about her findings, Professor was suddenly calling everyone back over towards her. Trying to ignore that horrible squishing beneath her once more. She began listening to the Professor go on with further instructions and heard her say the word, Human Ichnomancy, to which Violet quickly scribbled down on her parchment. She listened very intently to the Professor's instructions and then nodded when she had given them to okay to begin. But sadly..it meant stepping once more into this mud...Violet sighed and then lifted her foot up, and then placed it down softly at first..then she put a little bit of weight into it. She looked at her footprint and then picked up a twig signing her name next to it: Violet Le Veela

SPOILER!!: Violet's Foot Print

Violet then went on to look around for another person's foot print and see what she could study from it, once again trying to ignore this gross feeling. Oh how she wished she could just put her shoes back on already. But..she knew she would have to patient.

"Need a partner?" Beam.

"Sorry for scrunching up my toes but the mud was cold," Rawdon commented as he began to study Mo's drawing. "This is a good drawing."

The heel was deep so that meant that they, um, what did she say? Before he could check his notes, he was distracted by an older Ravenclaw girl. In fact, it was the same one who lost points.

"Is she mental?" he asked Mo as he glanced over at Aspen.

Found it! Deep heel equals in tune and well-rounded health. He looked at Mo. Yeah, he looks like that in tune and healthy. Toes are separate and stuff kinda like what the notes say plus he IS in Ravenclaw so Mo's definitely smart. Arch is, erm, normalish. Now what did she say about the arch?

Rawdon flipped back to his notes to see what he'd written down.

Human Ichnomancy is different than what we had just been doing because we will be doing readings on just one footprint." "To read a person's foot print we go to similar rules to Palmistry. The toes represent the mind and higher self so the longer they are, which can be seen by how far the toes prints are from the rest of the foot, the more thoughtful and logical a person is." She moved her finger to point at the middle section of the foot. "The arch is for the person's day-to-day life and the conscious mind, which means if the arched section is short they are more aloof and unaware of what is going on around them and the opposite means they live in the moment and try to be as active in their surroundings as possible." And the last section was up next. "The heel, or back part of the foot represents primal instincts, health and basic drives of the subconscious. So the deeper your heel is in the mud the more in tune and well-rounded your health is."

Phew, it was a lot to talk about from just one little footprint in the mud. Hopefully they had all gotten it. "So what I want you to do is go make a print in the mud and then walk around to read one other person's. I then want you to write down on a piece of parchment what your intrepretation of them is based on the print and give it to them when you're finished."

OOC: I need you to post your character making the print and YOU making a drawing of it using either PhotoShop, paint or some other graphics making program (no found images, you must make it) and include it in your post so others can see. It doesn't have to be super good just big enough to see. If you have trouble showing how deep something is just write beside it if its deep or shallow. Next you need to make a post reading someone else's print and writing it up in a parchment. You can also give the parchment to the person in the same post if you'd like. So I expect 2-3 posts.

This will be the last activity before the lesson so you will have roughly 24 hours to finish. PM if you have questions.
Melody started to squibble down her notes.
Toes - the longer = the more thoughtful and logical they are.
Arch - short = aloof and unaware. long = live in the moment and active in there sroundings
Heal - deeper in mud = more in tune and well rounded your health is
There short and simple for her to understand. Melody raised her hand while she put an imprint of her foot into the mud, "Professor, what if someone is thoughtful but more creative... as in thinks outside of the box than what is most logical? How would one be able to read what is right? ... oh how would we know who's footprint belongs to whom?" Make this difficult... why not.

Jory was looking forward to reading someone's footprint. He jotted down notes as Professor Elwood spoke. That will be handy later on.

The boy found a free spot and carefully pressed his left foot down into the sand. He looked at it. Pretty deep print, longer arch, longish toes. "My foot is huge,'' he thought amused.

SPOILER!!: Jory's big foot

Jory now went off to find someone's print to study.

She just felt a little off with this reading and in other terms felt more confident and she wasn't sure why.

Okay, first activity done.. now Ethan had to make his own footprint and have it interpreted.. and possibly interpret someone else's. The sixth year headed back to the wettest part of the bank, thinking that would probably produce the best print. As he headed back, he spotted Minerva pressing her foot in the mud.

Ethan stood behind her, watching as she completed the first step, and gave her a smile as she turned towards him. "Alright if I interpret your footprint? Then you can do mine.." Or at least he would try to.. this whole Ichnomancy still seemed a bit shady..

He crouched down a little and peered at the mark in the ground, trying to remember what Elwood said about interpreting. "Okay, your toes seem fairly close to the rest of your foot so I think that means you base decisions more on feeling than logic.." Which wasn't really a bad thing.. gut feelings were often accurate. He kept looking.. "Your heel seems rather deep, so I think that means you are very in-tune with your own physical and personal self." Or something like that.. he wasn't entirely sure. "And your arch seems kind of short so you like to spend time alone?" He wasn't sure that was really right. Minerva was quite social as far as he was concerned but maybe it meant that she desired more alone time? Small frown.. he hoped he wasn't crowding her..

Ethan jotted everything he said down on a piece of parchment and handed it to Minerva, giving her a sort of expectant look as he wondered what she thought of his interpretation. "Do you want to try to do mine?"

SPOILER!!: Ethan's notes on Minerva's footprint
Minerva Wheatborn
Toe proximity - close: emotion and feeling based
Heel - deep print: in-tune with physical and personal self
Arch - short: desires alone time

Who Am I? Ern's 2460FUN

Selina was always on board with everything that Elwood said. She was just that Professor that Selina would have listened to if she told her to eat slugs or something. But when she told them all to stick their feet in the mud and read other people's footprints. That was a tad wonky, no? Well, if she said so Selina supposed it was good practice. SO she stuck her foot in the mud and waited for her foot mark to stick or something. Wait, when she pulled her foot out of the mud would she smudge her actual foot mark and then it would be distorted? Would THAT then mean that whatever observations someone made would be skewed? So many questions.

Anyway, pushing all of that aside she threw her foot in the mud and wiggled her toes around a little so it would stick. She left it in there for a few minutes and waited for something to stay. While she waited she looked around at everyone else doing the same thing and she could not help but think that her feet and everyone elses were going to be AMAZINGLY exfoliated. It would be nice and soft like a baby's bum. Oh yeah.

Once she felt like her foot was nice and imprinted in the mud, she pulled her foot out carefully so that she did not disrupt the markings. Someone would need to read them and they had to be as ACCURATE as possible. So she pulled her foot out of the mud slowly and then, as soon as it was hovering above her nice markings, she yanked it away and jumped away from it so that no one could mess it up. Awesome.

Then she looked down at the print. Nice, Selina, nice. Now who wanted to read her foot print? She would read theirs. Anyone?

"Is she mental?" he asked Mo as he glanced over at Aspen.

Found it! Deep heel equals in tune and well-rounded health. He looked at Mo. Yeah, he looks like that in tune and healthy. Toes are separate and stuff kinda like what the notes say plus he IS in Ravenclaw so Mo's definitely smart. Arch is, erm, normalish. Now what did she say about the arch?

Rawdon flipped back to his notes to see what he'd written down.
"Who?" Mo glanced up from his investigation of the foot print, following Rawdon's line of vision. Aspen? Of course she was crazy. That was the beauty of Aspen. "She's brilliant," Mo shrugged before returning his attention to the print. Aspen was probably right, whatever it was she was doing at the moment.

Now then... the print. The arch wasn't overly long either, which meant that again the boy was more about moderation than being all one or the other. Except he'd mentioned that his toes were scrunched due to the cold. Maybe that meant that normally Rawdon was logical and clear-headed, but he could be spontaneous when prompted. Yeah, that sounded nice and vague, it did. And the heel... deep, right? Everyone was so deep.

Mo attempted to balance on his heels so that he could use his knees as a little desk. Using Rawdon's parchment, he partitioned off the paper and wrote on the other half of the page.

Mo glanced from the parchment back to his footprint a few times before rising to his feet again. The prints where he'd been crouching were very interesting, but for now, he'd just return the parchment to Rawdon and let the boy see his interpretation.

"Here ya go." He thrust the parchment at the other boy. "How do you think you did on mine?"

Default 1 & 2 activity ^^
Hala Madrid | What's up? | Live F♥rever | Nade ♥

To be true Nina didn't found the point of this kind of divination but she had to do it anyways. The girl grabbed her notebook and walked a bit looking for animal prints and when she found them, she bend down trying to analize them. The Slytherin tilted her head to one side thinking how could she interpret this footprints, when she finally had an idea she called Elwood "Professor..." her head turned towards the woman "These are deer prints" she pointed them with her index finger "I think he was peacefully walking, he was going back to his family but something stopped him" And yes Nina had assumed it was a HE "Maybe a hunter...A hunter was nearby and the deer realized about it knowing it would be wise to run away from him" she nodded. "But since his family was also in danger he ran towards them to let them know and save them. Even if that meant to give his life" Sad story "Brave deer" Indeed.

Now apply it. "If I'm on a walk or hiking, I would take this as a warning there's danger and I have to let anyone know about it" First activity done.

After that, Elwood explained to them the next activity which was (to Nina's opinion) better than the previous one. Many would find gross to step on mud but she didn't mind, in fact, she liked it. Weirdo. When the girl found a nice spot to start the footprint making she took her shoes and socks off and pressed her foot on the mud. It felt good. And there it was...a nice footprint.

She grabbed a twig and drew a box around it, wrote WATCH OUT so it could be clear enough that anyone should be careful and turned around looking for a partner.

SPOILER!!: McFiesty

Walking through the muddiest section she could find Mika just shivered and glanced down at her footprint. It wasn't a pretty picture really. Feet just weren't her thing. Flipping to an empty page on her notebook she quickly jotted down a horrid sketch of her footprint onto the page.

She clearly was no artist.

SPOILER!!: print

Totally forgot to say the right words...high/medium meaning deep, low meaning shallow.

As she finished she quickly began to look for other footprints to find.

And luckily she found someone, "Need a partner?" asked Nina.

Melody lifted up her foot while her questions where being answered. She smiled and looked at the print. To her this was fun it wasn't like she got to do this often.

SPOILER!!: Melody's foot

Darker shadowing is deeper in the mud.

Not bad. She thought to herself. She smiled and got her parchment and went to someones else foot print after she wrote her name in the mud. Why did she even ask what to do about that.

"Hello." She smiled at the girl, " I'm Melody Sparks. Do you mind if I interpretate your foot print?"

"Yes yeah I do need a partner! I'm Amelia Johanson but you can call me Mika!" She introduced herself with a big smile.

Looking over to Nina's footprint she scrunched up her nose in concentration and began to take notes. Toes, the toes looked normal, rounded, spread apart, mid-length not long or short.

SPOILER!!: notepad

Toes
 • The toes are spread out.
 • The toes are medium in length
 • The toes are round in shape
Arch
 • The arch is low
Heel
 • The heel is deep in the mud.
 • The heel has soft edges, not pointy or jabby.

She had no idea really what it all meant though but she hoped she had read it right. That was the most important part of it all!

Sierra began walking around the area in search of a seemingly untouched patch of mood to stamp her foot into. At first, she just kept running into people, and then had a string of bad luck where she never came upon any untouched land. She ended up in a bad mood and was just about ready to throw her hands up and surrender when she came upon a small area that she could stamp her foot into.

She didn't waste any time. Her footprint ended up looking like this:

She looked at it for a minutes to make sure it was at least readable. Looked good to her. She shrugged to herself. So what was she meant to be doing now? Oh. Right. She needed to go find somebody else's footprint now. So on a footprint search she went.

SPOILER!!: Jory's big foot

Jory now went off to find someone's print to study.

Alyssa was looking for a print to examine when she saw Jory leave his print in the sand before moving on to find his own. 'It's a good thing that I know this print belongs to him, or I will have a tough time later trying to share what I have with him.' Alyssa smiled to herself.

Now for some detecting...and divination skills which she hoped that she had some of. Alyssa slowly crouched down next to the print, making sure that she didn't disturb the surrounding sand around it, because the shifting sand could possibly destroy the print before she had a chance to study it.

She leaned over and studied the Jory's footprint. She recalled how Professor Elwood had told them how to read a person's foot print. So she first started with the toes, and then the arch ending, with the heel.

Using her pen, Alyssa first measured the distance between the toes and the rest of his foot. From the look of the way Jory's toes were spread out and the distance they are from the rest of his foot, Jory looked to be a thoughtful and logical person. That would definitely sync with what Jory was in person. He was always logical in his thinking. It showed in class. Whenever he gave an answer, it was always well thought out and made sense. Alyssa quickly noted down her findings in her journal.

Text Cut: Characteristics of Jory as read from his foot print

Toes: Spread out and there's distance between the toes and the rest of his foot
Conclusion: He is a thoughtful and logical person.

Now Alyssa moved down to study the pattern of the arch. Measuring it again with her pen, she gauged the indentation it made in the sand to be deep and long. Remembering what Professor Elwood had said about the arch and the characteristics associated with an arch that is long and deep, Alyssa concluded that Jory was someone who lived for the moment and tried to be active in their surroundings as much as possible.

Alyssa realized that this aspect of the reading she was doing spot on accurate. Jory was always involved in any activities that were planned. She remembered how he helped in the Snowman building competition a few terms ago and of course he was always active in every Gobstone club game. Not to mention classes. He attended all the classes that she did, which meant everyone of them. As long as she knew Jory, she never knew him to worry about the future or stress out over anything. Picking up her journal, Alyssa quickly added her findings into her journal.

Text Cut: Characteristics of Jory as read from his foot print

Toes: Spread out and there's distance between the toes and the rest of his foot
[b]Conclusion: He is a thoughtful and logical person.
Arch: Long and deep.
Conclusion: Lives for the moment and loves to stay active as much as possible. He is always aware of everything that is going around him.

Now for the last part, his heel. Alyssa placed her pen in the indentation of the heel print and measured to see how deep it was as compared to the surrounding mud. Judging from the depth the indentation, it measured about 1/2 -3/4 inches deep. That meant that he was in tune with himself, health wise he was very fit and stayed active either in sport or through heavy labor. Which all made sense, since she remembered that him mentioning that he played a lot of sports and worked out a lot with his father, when he was home.

Alyssa picked up her journal again and added her final conclusions into it.

Text Cut: Characteristics of Jory as read from his foot print

Toes: Spread out and there's distance between the toes and the rest of his foot
Conclusion: He is a thoughtful and logical person.
Arch: Long and deep.
Conclusion: Lives for the moment and loves to stay active as much as possible. He is always aware of everything that is going around him.
Heel: Very deep indentation.
Conclusion: He is very intune with his body. Health wise he is very fit and he keeps in shape and stays active by exercising and playing all kinds of sports.

Now that she was done, she began transferring the information she had written onto a parchment so that she could share her findings with her friend.

SPOILER!!: More good students and their work

Good, good. After the blow-up that she had just unleashed on Dylan and Aspen Callie was happy that some of the kids were behaving and doing as they were told.

As she walked around to listen to each of their interpretations and came across an interesting pair of prints that she would have to come check up on later (West's made-up ones xDD), she told them that they too could work on writing their ideas down and waiting for the next activity.

SPOILER!!: Questions and those needing a little help

As Elwood made her way to each of the students who were giving her there interpretations she came across a little Slytherin who seemed to have it all going okay except for one tiny point. "Dear, your interpretation is great but I think that those are cat prints, not dogs. Good work though." An easy mistake to make, so she shouldn't worry.

Happy that the Slytherin took his shoes off like she had asked she was more than happy to help him with his reading.

Peeing cat...okay. She nodded along anyways as the boy struggled on. "Well, Theo, perhaps this cat...relieving itself on the rock suggest that on your journey you will be walking along, get to a high place of understanding, the rock," she paused pointing at her head and then the rock. "and then become relieved a burden that you had been carrying with you, like the cat's....umm yeah. So perhaps a emotional burden that you have gotten rid of."

He got that right?

After she had talked with Theo, Callie was about to go move on with the lesson when she saw little Laura Hyde looking confused as she was staring at the cat prints nearby.

"Laura, do you need some help? Well it seems like you've found the prints of this cat. They look like they may have been walking around and then jumped up onto the rocks, is there something in your life that could apply to this?" A little helpful nudge in the right direction would help her hopefully.

"Okay everyone, if you've finished with the animal prints activity please come over here to listen to the instructions for the next and final activity. And if you haven't still come over here." she nodded, obviously she didn't want to have to repeat herself.

Right, so animal Ichnomancy--covered. "The next activity we are going to do is the reason why we are not wearing shoes. Human Ichnomancy is different than what we had just been doing because we will be doing readings on just one footprint." She stepped over to a particularly muddy spot on the bank, pressed her foot in it and after a few seconds, removed it to leave a perfect print of her foot.

"To read a person's foot print we go to similar rules to Palmistry.

Ohh they get to make their own foot prints now?

The youngun jumped to her feet, brushing what she could of the sand off her skirt. Then next moment she leaped onto a fresh stretch of sand, skipping a bit as she moved forward. This was just like those walks she had back home *clappy hands*

She turned around to look at her set of prints-- the first ones were the clearest and most complete:

SPOILER!!: Aquila's footprints

Now then...

"Brilliant and mental," Rawdon added about Aspen and then he went back to studying Mo's footprint. The drawing wasn't saying that much to him, so he crouched down to examine the actual footprint.

Much better! For nearly 10 minutes, Rawdon carefully studied the print and began to write down his analysis.

Just as he was finishing up, Mo handed him the parchment with his analysis. "Thanks, Mo. Here's your's. Hope that it makes sense," Rawdon said as he handed the parchment to his housemate.

HOLISTIC ACTRESS {X O} EVERYTHING IS CONNECTED

Mika, who happened to have been close enough to see Apsen's drawing just chuckled. Ravenclaw. Awesome. Yes, it was absolutely true. Snakes were food to ravens - point one to Ravenclaw.

And still they were fifteen points behind Slytherin. She was going to GET them for that. It was strange - one Odessa had gotten points the other had lost them.

She just shrugged and looked back at Nina's print - it was then that she just giggled. Her cold feet were sooooooo cold and yet she couldn't help but giggle.

SPOILER!!: notes

The toes are spread apart and long compared to the rest of the foot.
Indicating that she is smart but not Einstein (which is good because who wants to be Einstein he had creepy hair)

Her arch is low which indicates that she is aloof and unaware - which goes along with the not-so-long but not-too-short toes.

Her heels are deep which indicates that she is in tune with her health and is relatively healthy in a well-roundedly healthy sort of way.

There.

Now she wanted to do more. Even more, yuppers.

"That was fun - i ugh see someone who needs a partner though so imma help!" She beamed.

"Hey I don't think i know your name" she waved over to Aquila and just smiled. Yeah she was friendly. Superduperfriendly. "Do you still need a partner?" She asked happily. " 'cause i don't really but i'd totally work with you aswell!" Yeah she was just that awesome.

Ooh...They had to make foot prints...Right now...In the mud? Wasn't the mud cold? And slimy??

COOOL!

Nerida was never allowed to play in the mud...It wasn't a girl thing apparently... She looked around for a patch of sand or mud. Seeing some she skipped over to them and walked into them... Turning around...The sand ones were horrible.... The Ravenclaw looked around and found a patch of mud.. She moved forward hoping these ones turned out good. Turning around again she saw two almost perfect prints and four horrible prints... Looks like its the perfect ones!

The fifth year glanced around looking for somebody that didn't have a partner...Hmm where was anybody... Seeing a young looking girl, she walked over to her. "Do you have a partner?" She looked alone but maybe someone was around...

SPOILER!!: Footprint
