The Divination classroom was as bright and cheerful as usual, the heavy curtains were pulled back and the panes were pushed open to allow a fresh breeze to flow in. The desks were arranged normally on their risers and small wooden boxes were places on each of them, enough per student.
At the front of the classroom, Professor Elwood sat in a high backed armchair with a small, spindly table to her left; her usual desk was no where to be seen. You may have noticed the Professor being absent from the Staff Table in the Great Hall for a while but she is here now and ready to teach.
The board behind her informed everyone not to pay any mind to the small boxes as they filed in.
Yeah I broke that mirror, so what? ll NOT backward ll Official Gryfferin ll Lemon's favourite
She fitted the first card into the position it was supposed to be in then grabbed the desk and drew for another card. Hopefully this one wouldn't require some kind of extra thinking to see just how effective it was. The last one was enough, thanks.
Strength.
THIS was more like it!
Lex was pretty good with the idea that this card represented her present even before she looked up it's meaning. The name alone told her that she would like it. Unless it was just as cynical as the last one. Time to go looking. She flipped again and found just the card she was looking for--and it hard a literal meaning to it!! YES!!!
Ahem.
She was sooooo owning up to this one. It was all a bunch of talk about strength and power, stuff she could see because well, she thought VERY highly of herself, OKAY??? It also mentioned something about a steadfast friend. At the moment that was TRUE; absolutely and undeniably true and she didn't think it would be changing any time soon.
Could she just keep this for her future reading too???

Sky finally flipped the last card over. Queen of Wands. Now that looked interesting. Maybe it signified that she would become prefect next year? Because Slytherin house was going to need one, since Sierra was graduating and all. She paged through her textbook to look for the meaning. And was immediately confused. Developing a trip or making real a career, or creating a movement. It didn't make sense. She was only fifteen! How could she develop a trip? Unless her parents put her in charge of the family vacation this year. The career thing was definitely a no go, as, again, she was only fifteen. She hasn't even taken her OWLs yet! And creating a movement? Yeah, like she knew how to do that. Pfffft. So, the trip thing it was. Better start thinking now.
Not that she believes in these things anyway.

GRIN. "Thanks Belle!" Really. Because... it would be better to work with someone on this rather than do it for yourself. It might be a bit more... interesting, actually. Nodnod. ... Oh? "Yeah! Of course!" Ladies first and all that, right?
Alec tilted his head and watched the girl curiously as she started picking out a card. All this randomness was necessary for Divination, right? Because... you couldn't purposely pick out one card and then avoid the others just because you like the look of one and not the others. Yeah. So... closing your eyes were good for this as well, right? Maybe.
...
The MOON! And this was linked to his past, right? Latent physical ability... did that mean Quidditch? Because... maybe... that explained quite a bit. Like how he didn't really know much about Quidditch but with the right training from Keefer, he turned out not to suck at it completely. Hidden messages and... deception? Alec furrowed his eyebrows slightly at those words. He had never been deceived, as far as he could tell. Unless... things to do with his mother counted but... that wasn't deception. Not to him.
Shaking his head, the fifteen year old grinned at the Prefect. "Thanks Belle!" ... Right... for her. Shuffle... shuffle... shuffle... He spread the cards out face down on the desk in a line before randomly picking out one from the middle. And this card was...
"The Wheel of Fortune!" GRIN. He leant closer towards the desk and scanned his textbook until his eyes landed on the paragraph explaining exactly what the card in his hand represented. "Erm... it says... that this is about luck and change," Maybe Belle had gotten really lucky as a kid and won a pot of gold and things turned dramatically? Who knew. "It says... something about the ride and fall of fortune and that what goes around comes around." That... made sense since they were talking about a wheel of fortune.
"Erm... and... basically, this card seems to be really awesome! Abundance, happiness, elevation... and it symbolises a change that happens and brings great joy with it as well." That wasn't a bad card at all!
... So... "I think... it's your turn again?" This was actually sort of fun! GRIN.
When Alec picked out the card for her, he picked out the Wheel of fortune? Hmm...interesting!! Then when Alec read it, it made sense. She was going to have to deal with change. Belle hoped she got lucky and get a job after Hogwarts. "Well i hope i get lucky and get a job after hogwarts and i am going to deal with change. You picked the right card for me Alec!" she smiled.
Belle was relieved she did not get a bad card. Now onto the next set. "Alright let's do the minor arcana!" she said and shuffled her deck. She did it quite a few times. Then she laid them out with one big swish. Then she looked down and she picked from each suit. She picked from the Wands Suit.
Belle picked up from the end of the pile. She picked the Knight of Wands! Hmm...what does it mean. Belle flipped through her book.
"So Alec this Knight of Wands means challenging, determination, foreign travel, leader and unpredictability." Belle smiled. "Well i know the challenging and determination came from your quidditch abilities as a keeper but unpredictability? What are you planning on doing?" she asked slyly giggling.
lives in a hobbit hole || Ern and Touz's Nuzzle || roflysst || looking at a seed packet
West started to go through the deck and CHOOSE the cards he wanted. Basically. Anything that looked positive, he put in a pile. The ones that looked bad, West put them aside. Also he put the good ones the right way up in his little pile. Because he was going to use THOSE cards only, and only the right way up, and deal himself a good spread. Because Westomancy.
Any problems? Nope. He didn't think so either. West kept going through the cards and ignored everyone else.

Belle was having so much fun with this activity.
... He picked the right card? Really? Alec grinned widely at Belle and nodded at her. That compliment actually made him feel slightly better; as if he was finally doing something right when it came to this subject. Although, it might have a little something to do with the fact that he was understanding bits about this subject as well. Just like he had understood that lesson on footprints.
He knew being fifteen was going to be awesome!
... Oh! Present time. Okay. Alec shuffled closer and leant his elbows on the desk as Belle shuffled the cards again. And then... "Wow!" How did she manage to lay them all out in one swish? That. Was. AWESOME. And he was so going to take notes so that he could do this as well. Yeah.
The Knight of Wands... okay... Alec furrowed his eyebrows slightly as he listened to the girl talk about the card she held in her hand. ... WOAH. How was... no. How did a card know exactly what was going on with him right now? He wasn't a leader, sure, but the challenging aspect could also be linked to Quidditch, as Belle said. "Yeah... yeah, you're right! It's to do with Quidditch and seeking..." he said, before letting out a small chuckle at what Belle said next, "Erm... nothing nothing!" GRIN."That's pretty... accurate, actually!" Apart from the leadership bit. He didn't know what that was about. But... it was Belle's turn for this reading, now. The Hufflepuff grinned a little sheepishly at the Prefect before picking up his cards and giving them another shuffle. Shuffle... shuffle... shuffle...
... Now... spreaaaaaaaaaad...
The fifteen year old blinked as a card flew off and fell down the side. He shook his head and bent over sideways, grabbing the card up again. Without looking at it, he grabbed the other cards and reshuffled the deck. There. Spread take two!
... Better!
Alec reached over and grabbed a card somewhere towards his left. "It's the Eight of Swords!" Which meant... scaaaaan..."Erm... so this isn't as great as the other one. Sorry, Belle!" And it represented what she was meant to be feeling like right now. Frown. "Erm... basically, this card says that you're scared. Really scared! But... maybe... not the kind of scared where you're alone in the dark or face to face with a creepy looking doll," Shudder. "It's... erm... the kind of scared where... you're scared of what people might say about you?" ... Frown. Who was saying things about one of his sisters? That was just MEAN.
"It also says that because of this... this fear, you feel like you can't say anything? Just in case you hurt someone's feelings?" That... that had to be a hard way to live, actually. Being in constant fear. "... Oh! Belle! Look! It also says that this card urges you to speak up! So... you just need the courage and then... everything will be awesome again!" Of course, the book didn't have the word 'awesome' written in there but... it was still true! He wasn't going to read out the last bit just in case things got worse for Belle so instead, he finished off with saying, "Erm... and the sooner you find this courage, the better." Nodnod.
... Maybe the next card will be happier for Belle...? He hoped so!

Belle chuckled when Alec tried to do the big swish with the cards. Belle told him, "Do not worry if you do not get it the first time. It took me lots of practice. My uncle taught me since he is a card dealer." Belle winked at him.
Then she heard her reading. It sounded accurate. Belle was not speaking up her plans to her mom and father. She was scared to. "You know Alec, that card is right. I have to find the courage to talk to my parents about my career decision at the end of this year. You know me spot on! I will do it sooner." Belle nodded to reassure him.
Then this was her last draw. "Alright so now we pick from court cards..." she said and shuffled them. Then she spread them out. Belle then picked out the Pages of Cups. "Hmm so looks like i got the Pages of Cups for you Alec. Usually the realm of cups refers to emotion, intuition and feelings. But your card will herald the coming of love, a growth in perception, and an evolution in emotional understanding." Belle nodded her head when she read that. "Do you agree with this card?" she asked him with a grin.
"So i guess you emotionally understand someone sometime soon." Belle told him. She seemed to be picking the right cards for Alec. It was like a sense of hers.
Yeah I broke that mirror, so what? ll NOT backward ll Official Gryfferin ll Lemon's favourite
After fixing that card into place next to the first she got right back to the deck for the last one. This one she was sure she'd be switching for a new one if she didn't like. Her future wasn't some laughing matter and she wasn't going to let a bad card define it. She could do that though, right? Trade it for another if she didn't like it?
Only one way to find out.
She drew again.
Moon.
Hmmmmm. She got to flipping through the pages again and stopped at the one she needed. Genius, of mental breakthroughs, astonishing creativity, powerful magic, and intuition...okay..she could live with tha--hidden enemies and mental illness??? VEFJDFVKF!!!! What the kneazle!?!!
...
She wasn't so sure what to make of this card. On the one hand it was good...but...the last bit didn't seem so good...She continued staring at the card for a minute before deciding to ignore the bad stuff. Outside of them she kinda liked what it was saying for her future. Yup. This one would be a keeper. NO BAD STUFF INCLUDED!!! This meant she was done, yes?

She turned her head to identify her assailant and saw that it was Dylan. Blink. Did she just.....saw him coming? Whoa. She did. Beezus returned the card face down together with the other ones on the deck as she nodded and scooted a bit to give the Slytherin Captain some space to sit on. "We're in class. Don't.....call me that." Because she it didn't sound proper, especially since they were student leaders. Oh, and I totally saw you coming. She also wanted to add.

"The Six of Wands," he said, showing Minerva her card before setting it down face-up on the table. Then he looked for that card in his textbook to find its meaning. "So this is meant to pertain to your past.. your mind and your history." Right.. there it was. Ethan skimmed over the passage before coming to a conclusion.
Smiling, he said, "Well, this seems like a pretty good card. It represents victory and reward." He read a bit further. "It does say that if this card is in the past position, then the foundation of your current situation is in the triumphs from some time ago.." Thinking for a moment, he frowned a bit. "I don't know if that means that you think things today are not as good as things once were.. or maybe that you are where you are today because of good things that happened in the past.." These things always seemed so open to interpretation..
Minerva smiled, "Great.. So let's see what the cards have in store for me.." Watching Ethan shuffle the card she felt a little nervous, she wasn't sure why, but these were cards that could read into her.. What would they say for her or about her. Watching Ethan pick the first card she looked at it, hmm that was an interesting card.
Waiting for him to see what the card meant Minerva's smile turned as he read it, this was her past. Well of course it was.."Well there is a bit of history stuck in my mind.." She tried to joke about the card, but she was still a little confused what it meant. As he went further into the card Minerva liked the sound, "Well victory could be good. I would say that all of my life right now is a great reward from my past." Yes, if it wasn't for her mother being a witch she wouldn't have been here at Hogwarts, and if it wasn't for their deaths, she might not have become close to the friends she did.
When she saw the frown Minerva worried, what it meant.. Then he explained, she tried to think about it.. "Well I think it could be both depending on what your looking at. I think things today are great, but there are things I miss from my past..my parents, but I think if it wasn't for the great things I had with them, I wouldn't be the way I am right now. If mom wouldn't have told me she was a witch and about Hogwarts, I wouldn't be here with you." She smiled hoping to see his smile come back.. "Alright.. next card.."

Dylan was either provoking her or he just didn't really care when he muttered that term of endearment again. She was guessing the latter, although pretty much these past few days, they've been shooting each other witty retorts so maybe the former did fuse in a bit. With that, Beezus chose to just narrow her eyes at him.
When he sat down, she picked up her own deck and started shuffling and riffling the cards while they conversed. "Mhhmm. You read mine and I'll read yours." Interpret for each other. If this whole divination stuff was legit then likely she was bound to discover things about him and that very much piqued the Ravenclaw's interest, not that it was surprising. She wanted to know more about him and how it was that he could easily make her smile despite his infamous personality.
He was going first. No complains from her side of the pole on that.
She watched as he scuffed the deck and pulled out the three that would tell them of her Past, Present and Future reading. And then he was scrawling something on his notebook that made her eyebrows fork as she peeked at it only to see that he was preparing a record of this reading he was holding for her today. Neat. She smiled.
Once that was done, the reading started. Reversed Queen of Cups.
That was her Past card.
Interpretation?
The looks he was giving her was making her stomach churn. It was as if he had read something dismal. "Yeah, and?" Go on, she was all ears. Huh? Cannot be trusted? Dishonor? Depravity? Beezus blinked, biting her bottom lip. "Ouch?" Even though those meanings were fading away now, she found it odd that it implied that she was all of those things in the past.
He went on and she listened. This time, Beezus found a few meanings that she deemed realistic. Her thoughts? Well..."Neglectful." Her dark brown eyes stared at the Slytherin Captain for a few moments. "Bambi." Yeah. "Over sentimental." She snorted. That one was a definite bull's eye.
Okay....her past card was a bit......dreary.
"My turn." Giving the deck a last shuffle, she placed it back on the desk, slid off the first three and arranged it accordingly facing down.
"Past." She uttered, overturning the card on the left. "It's...Four of Cups. Reversed." And what did that mean? Taking her text from her lap, the brunette opened it and began to search. .......Eyebrow raise. Really? She was reading it this correctly, no? "Keywords are...boredom, discontentment, dissatisfaction, resentment, mistrust, hesitation." In her opinion, some of those things were still on Dylan's present. More on it, though. "It indicates that one is emotionally introverted and unwilling to put in the required efforts, one who indulges in self-pity and negativity, and who expresses unhappiness, resentment and unrealistic expectations." For some reason, this was making her lips curl into a smirk. "And it also says here that it tells of unfulfilled accomplishments due to a lack of motivation and/or concern." Ahem. Merlin, wasn't she glad those renditions, if anything, were scadaddling now.
She turned to face him, a small grin on her face. "So, what do you think?"
Minerva smiled, "Great.. So let's see what the cards have in store for me.." Watching Ethan shuffle the card she felt a little nervous, she wasn't sure why, but these were cards that could read into her.. What would they say for her or about her. Ethan gave Minerva a minute to process her reading, then he listened to her interpretation of it. Well, she seemed to think it was a good card that meant not only good things but was relatable to her life right now. He did feel bad that her parents were gone, but she had such a positive outlook on it that he couldn't help but smile.. especially when she added in the part about him. "I'd say that's a good reward for me too," he said with a little wink. Sounded like he should have the Six of Wands in his past position too.
"Okay, ready for your present card?" He looked up at her before drawing the next card. "Two of Swords.." Ethan glanced through his book until he found that particular card and its meaning, skimming through the passage first. "This card basically signifies an indecision or a refusal to make a choice," he looked up at her cautiously before continuing. "It says it sometimes indicates a situation with stubborn doubts.. and characterizes a difficulty in finding clarity without listening to your inner voice."
Ethan looked up to see what Minerva thought. This one didn't seem as good as the last one, but again it could be open to interpretation.. or just be a tool to help show what was needed to be done. "So.. what do you think? Something going on that you're doubtful about.. or having a hard time deciding?"

"So.. what do you think? Something going on that you're doubtful about.. or having a hard time deciding?"
Minerva listened as the next card was pulled.. Stubborn.. Minerva.. never, she chuckled a bit. She knew she was pretty easy going, but had been called stubborn a time or two. Well an indecision or refusal to make a choice. Minerva wasn't really sure what that could be about. She thought of some things going on, the letter with her cousin could that be, probably not.. She shrugged a bit as he said the meaning.
Then as he looked at her she gave a smile, "I'm not really sure, maybe it could be about the fact I can't make a decision on my future, but I'm only a fifth year so I feel I have time.. Or maybe about the relationship I want with my cousins, but honestly I don't know what that really could mean. It is interesting though." Giving a bigger smile Minerva perked up, "Hey it says refusal to make a choice or indecision, maybe I'm just so stubborn about not making it that I have blocked it from my brain to know what it is exactly." She gave a chuckle and waited for her next card..

Ethan tilted his head slightly as he listened to Minerva's response to his reading. The thing about her cousins did make sense, maybe that's what the cards were trying to say. Especially as they seemed to be making a reappearance in her present. Or maybe people put too much stock in these cards and they didn't mean anything.. especially when people had to reach to find a meaning that fit. He did have to laugh at her last words. "Yeah, maybe that's it.."
"Alright.. third and final card. This one's for your future." Then it would be his turn to get a reading and he was remotely curious about what the cards had in store for him. Ethan drew the next card and laid it to the right of the other two. "The Knight of Cups.." He turned to that section in his book and read to see what that one meant. Smiling, he looked up and said, "This card represents love, imagination, and emotions.. It characterizes a loving and peaceful atmosphere and a time to dwell on your fantasies.. decisions will be based on emotions." He looked back down at the passage and skimmed a bit more before continuing. "It also says it will be a time to be open to exploring your dreams and a good time to achieve goals." Hmm, pretty good card for the future, he thought. Ethan looked back carefully at Min, figuring she would think the same. "Thoughts?"

Dylan listened intently when Bee muttered that name. Bambi...Her sister...There was a pang in his chest as her face crumbled just a little...and to respect what she'd just said about behaving in public, the Slytherin kept his hands to himself. He'd take care of her after class...and she knew that....Hopefully.
...And she was beginning his. For his Past card, the Slytherin had...
Four of Cups. Reversed.
When she began to describe it...it all sounded terribly honest and...true. Dylan made a face, looking down at the card with a little surprise. Ahem."My parents...and them uprooting my life...to move here."...and all the other little things that moving had caused......that wouldn't be mentioned with so many people present...He gave her a significant look. Things would be left unsaid until...after the lesson.
Moving on...

[/COLOR]
And Belle had noticed that he couldn't spread out cards properly. This... made Alec grin sheepishly at the girl as he placed the present card down next to the past one. ... Wait... "Really? That's so awesome, Belle!" Really! "No wonder you're so great at it." And... she had taught him something new. GRIN.
... Oh? Her card was accurate? Courage to talk to her parents... Alec nodded along. "I hope... you find this courage soon, Belle!" Because of the whole sooner rather than later thing. And, plus, this was something really important that could determine what her future would be like which, funnily enough, was going to be represented in the next card he picked out for her, right? RIGHT.
But it was time to listen to his future card reading. ... Page... of Cups. Okay. ... HOLD. THE. SNITCH. This one was about feelings? Feelings?! And then she mentioned the 'l' word and Alec turned bright red in the face. An evolution in emotional understanding... Which meant... that in the future, he was going to understand how he felt? That was really really great because... he didn't really know how he felt right now. "Erm... well... I think so?" he said, reaching up a hand to ruffle his hair, "I mean... I don't know if it means for... someone or for someone else..." Although, he really hoped it didn't mean for anyone else...
... Hair!ruffle.
"And understand how they've been feeling?" ... Alec shook his head before grinning at Belle, "Thanks Belle! Those were pretty accurate, actually." Nodnod.
And it was his turn for her so... Alec, still pretty red in the face, started shuffling the cards again. Shuffle... shuffle... shuffle... and spreaaaaaaaaad! ... Hey, he was getting a little better at this! Except, the spread was a tiny bit scattered and not nearly as perfect as Belle's scattering had been but... he was still happy with this. The boy closed his eyes, hovered his right hand over the scattered cards and picked out...
"The Knight of Pentacles!" he said, grinning at Belle before leaning over and looking at the paragraph in his textbook, "So, erm... this card, that's linked with your future, is talking about... a not very Knight-like person?" What did that mean?! "So... it means that there'll be changes, sure, but they'll feel steady and not big dramatic changes. Kind of... erm... like the way you grow steadily?" Hopefully she understood what he was talking about.
But... there was more. "It says that as a teen, you have all these projects and responsibilities, like your Prefectness," he said nodding at the girl proudly, "And maybe this'll continue in the future? You'll continue to be responsible and your long term plans might come... true? Like getting married and having children." Could he call dibs on godfather or uncle? "Erm... and... it says that you like to fit in? And you'll continue to do that? Erm... and... you'll have a system for everything and you like the idea of perfectionism," He understood that. Really. Nodnod. "So I guess... this can be a warning card as well? That maybe... you'll be really involved in your work in the future and... you need to remember to lighten up sometimes? Have some ice cream?" The card didn't say that but... she got the idea, right?
... And... they were done, yeah? "Thanks for working with me, Belle! This was awesome!" GRIN!

Minerva's smile got bigger as she heard the last card. So many possibilities with this final card. Minerva thought about it for awhile. "Well I think it sounds great, but with only one condition.." She gave him a little smirk, "Only if your in that future as well." She nudged him half joking, but thinking she hoped she would be right..
Taking the cards from Ethan's hand, Minerva giggled, "Alright your turn.." She grinned hoping to be good at reading his cards. Clearing her throat and making a little suspense for the event Minerva sat up straighter.. "Now.. Mr. McCarthy it is time to see your life in cards.." She couldn't help but giggle a bit.
Pulling the first card she turned it to show him. "Your first card which is for your past is the Hierophant card." Minerva took the book that was in front of Ethan and search for the card. "It says that this card brings the spiritual down to earth." That really didn't make sense to Minerva though, so she read more into it.
"So the way it looks, for your past, this card could mean that you were raised with a structured belief setting and a strong culture identity." Minerva looked at hi feeling a bit bad, this seemed a little lame for her first try, but she could understand it. "I could see that. Your family is close, so I think you could say you have strong culture identities and structured beliefs from your family. What do you think?"
Professor Elwood had been walking around and watching as the students paired off or worked on their own with the Tarot cards. It was pretty neat seeing their faces light up at the good readings and even at the sour faces of...unfortunate cards. It was the fact that they were working that made her happiest. The students were actually succeeding at this activity not that they didn't in the other ones she had taught.
After watching some Hufflepuffs for a moment, Calista returned to the front of the room once more. "Alright everyone, that's all the time we have for today. I want to thank you for your participation this lesson and hope that you all were okay with your readings. Please take the cards with you, as you will need them for your homework assignment I will have posted for you in a few hours." Now they could all go eat lunch.

Ella nodded and gather up the cards she'd been using, placing them neatly back into the box. She then stuffed them into her bag and packed her textbook and notes. She was a bit hungry and so food sounded good right now, meaning she'd be heading to the Great Hall straight away.
"See you, Professor!" The blonde said cheerfully on her way out, giving the woman a smile and a wave.

Beezus returned Dylan's past card on top of the deck with the others just as she listened to his thoughts about it's interpretation. Moving there, huh? She smiled up at him. "Must be frustrating." Shrug. Just a side comment and that. Though, now that she thought about it, if he did not move there then they wouldn't have met and then her life would've been boring and then she wouldn't have had a gorgeous blond doing a reading for her at this time of the day. So, in one way, she was grateful of what his parents did. No, actually, she was very grateful of them for without them Dylan wouldn't have existed to later invade influence her life.
SNORT. Her thoughts were getting a little sidetracked it seems.
Back to the task. He was now reading her Present card.
"Oh, great. The Fool?" That was her Present card? Seriously? Beezus listened on as he read through its rendition and she could tell that he was very much amused. All those meanings. How.....comical. Folly? Intoxication? Delirium? Frenzy? What was she? Someone having a convulsion every now and then? She was chuckling softly now. "I am spontaneous." Kind of. Sort of. Meh. Really, she was. Spontaneously crazy if there was a need for specifics. "And faithful." That too.
Wait, what? .........Haha.
She gave him an almost disbelieving look when he said that the card represented their relationship. "Seriously? And you think I'm that crazy about you?" Haha. Just slightly maybe? Haha. Well, as a matter of fact, just a LITTLE bit more than what was safe. Haha. Ehhhhhh. "I hate that card." Because she knew it was true.
She was making a fool of herself now. Geddit? Anyway, moving on...moving on. Beezus flipped over her boyfriend's second card.
"The Magician." Oh. Can she just skip over it's meaning? She was having a feeling that this will be boosting his ego. "Power, skill, concentration, action, resourcefulness, self-confidence." Squinty eyes for you, Montmorency. He'd be smirking all day if this kind of words went on. "These symbolize the appropriate use of mind, heart, body and soul in the process of manifestation. This means you have the knowledge, strength, and inspiration needed to meet your challenges." So how large was his ego now? Although, she had to admit....Dylan did have those traits.
"So why am I the Fool and you're the Magician?" Because you're dismissed. ...O.o That didn't even make sense. Of course not, but really, Professor Elwood announced that they were dismissed for the day? "We're done?" What? No. Things were finally getting REAL interesting. And she was enjoying this, especially because it was something she and Dylan could do together. "Professor, excuse me." Hand raising here. "Can we stay for a few minutes? We're almost finished. Please?"
Minerva's smile got bigger as she heard the last card. So many possibilities with this final card. Minerva thought about it for awhile. "Well I think it sounds great, but with only one condition.." Ethan grinned as he heard Minerva's response to his reading her last card. Yeah, he thought that was a pretty good card and was glad she thought so too. One condition? He raised an eyebrow to look at her curiously, then chuckled at her smirk. "Well, I was planning on it," he said, smirking himself. "You know you won't be rid of me that easily."
Then it was her turn to do his reading and he was somewhat interested in finding out what cards he would get. Heirophant.. hmm.. he wasn't sure what that meant so he listened as Minerva read. When she was finished with her interpretation, he nodded. "Yeah, that actually sounds true.. " he said. "I've always found my parents to be a bit strict, so I guess that has to do with their own belief system about family. And I am pretty close to my whole family.." Sure, that totally made sense to him. And seemed like a good foundation for his past.
He was just about to prompt her to draw the next card when he heard the professor dismiss class. Over already? Ethan looked a bit crestfallen. He was actually enjoying today's lesson. He started to collect the cards and gather up his things, then he turned to Minerva before he left. "Hey.. do you think you could finish my reading for me sometime? I was kind of looking forward to see what cards I would get and what they would say about me."

Class was over? Alyssa was disappointed. She had hoped for a longer class. She placed the cards are had drawn back into the pack before gathering them all up and replacing them in their box. Putting everything into her backpack, Alyssa got up from her chair, slung her backpack over her shoulder before making her way over to Professor Elwood.
"Thank you for another interesting class, Professor." Alyssa smiled as she bid the Divination Professor goodbye. Then she made her way out of the classroom and headed for her next class.

While waiting for his next card, Dylan felt oddly anxious about Bee's last...The Future. He couldn't really explain why he was feeling like this...Probably because there had been a lot of things going on with his girlfriend lately...Like the coughing up blood...and her massive headaches. Dylan was scared....and he'd admitted as much to her.

Then she turned to the Slytherin. "Hurry."
The Snake had to admit, though, that he WAS innately pleased with her reaction of The Fool card. "Don't worry, beautiful...It's not one-sided." He just needed to put that out there...It was obvious to anyone that spent time around the two...So, yea. "Stop being sassy."
He was also pleased with his second card. Was the look on his face too smug? Was it? "Well, some things just can't be helped..." SMIRK. He wasn't being totally serious, of course. Dylan liked to use arrogance as a rouse. It was better for people to think he was a jerkface than a deep, emotional weirdo. So, yea. ARROGANCE because of that card.
And it was HIS turn, again. Reaching out, the Captain flipped it, taking a gander at her Future card.
The Sun.
Well, that sounded cheerful. He was digging it thus far...There was some relief as he began looking up it's meaning...just casually flipping through the pages....Flip, flip, flip....Finding the entry, Dylan scanned it, feeling more and more relieved as he did so. "So, your future card is The Sun...and things that are related to this are...material happiness, fortunate marriage, contentment."
Ahem.
Okay, he was liking that...It wasn't DEATH or anything. They could roll with it. "Also...Becoming enlightened, experiencing greatness, feeling vitality, having assurance..." Dylan loved all those words. His hand flew to his notebook, scribbling things down. He hadn't even waited for a response.

Personal thoughts: Bee mentioned things about her sister, Bambi...and neglect. So, I think this means that the hatred and loathing she feels for herself are fading?

Personal thoughts: This is clearly about our relationship...Mine and hers. There is a level of extravagance. I took Bee on a tour around Europe this past summer...and we are insane together. Psychos, we are.
So is the nature of our relationship, though. We fight, make up, scream and fuss each other out, make up, get violent, make up....There is a lot of making up.
Future: The Sun
Personal thoughts: So, this is a great card for one's future...from what I read. From what the book says, she'll be really happy and fulfilled in life. Content and enlighted. I think she's sick right now. So, maybe it means she'll finally be cured and stuff...and find real happiness.
Wait! What? Dismissed?!
The Slytherin Captain paused in his writing, waiting to see if they'd get a few minutes for Bee to finish up. As for him, he was finished, right? There hadn't been anything else...Had there?
Just in case it was a NO, he went ahead and started packing things away...sloooooowly.........

Jory looked up as Professor Elwood began speaking. Class was done? It had really been an interesting class. But the again, weren't all Divination classes? He gathered up the cards, his book and quill and packed them into his bag.
Jory swung it onto his shoulder. "Great lesson, Professor,'' he said on his way out. "See you.'' Grin. And off the boy went. Maybe a walk before heading to the common Room?

Professor Elwood was sparing them a few more minutes, right? Because this will be just fast. VERY fast. Beezus didn't want to stop now when it was almost finished plus, she was getting more and more curious as all of Dylan's cards were overturned.

Dylan was scared....and he'd admitted as much to her.
Yes. Slytherins got scared. It happened...It just was never admitted.
Ahem...
SPOILER!!: Dylan's Divination Notebook
Dylan Montmorency
Slytherin Sixth Year
Divination Two: Tarot Readings
Beatrice Castell
Past: The Queen of Cups. Reversed.
Personal thoughts: Bee mentioned things about her sister, Bambi...and neglect. So, I think this means that the hatred and loathing she feels for herself are fading?
Present: The Fool
Sassy? Who, her? Yeah, right. "Dylan, may I just remind you that between the two of us, you're the one who swims in sassiness." He was. She was more than sure that everyone would agree.
And would you just look at his face, that smug look paired with his signature smirk. It practically screamed sass. So he was the sassy chick here, not her. Nuh uh.
When he got to her Future card, Beezus also flipped his last card since they were running out of time. Hers was The Sun and what she got for him was the Page of Swords. She listened to what interpretation he found whilst she, herself also got to browsing her text in search for the meaning of his Future Card. "Mhmm. Yeah? Fortunate marriage? That sounds.....fortunate." The Ravenclaw chuckled, not really thinking much on that. Or if she was then she was saving it for later. Those seemed like good things though, mostly. It was implying that she was going to find real happiness in the future and what's more, there was assurance of that.
By this time, she was beaming. From the corner of her eyes, she could see him scrawling stuff on his notebook. Yeah, that one he'd prepared earlier for his recording. She was actually curious on what was written down on that one so maybe she'd snatch that later. But now, it was time for her to intrepret Dylan's Future Card.
"Your Future Card is Page of Swords." The brunette ran her fingers over the text as she read on. "It is an indication that a new phase is about to begin in which your logical, rational mind must be developed and used positively. It may be telling of a time when study, research and examinations will be prevalent. It will be a ‘learning’ time and the knowledge gained will be put to good use in the near future." Hmm. So Dylan was like going to be learning stuff that would aid him later in life? That sounded good. "It may also imply a need for tact and diplomacy, and keeping information (or a secret) to yourself for the time being." Okay...Now that was funny. Was she laughing? Not yet, she was just giggling.
As soon as she was done though, she quickly moved to return her things inside her bag, along with the cards, her parchment and textbook, quickly too. When she was through, she immediately hung her bag's strap over her shoulder and waiter for him to stand so they could go out together. "See what I told you about tact?" Hah!
As they made for the door, Beezus bowed slightly at Professor Elwood and smiles broadly at the woman, "Oh, thank you for the lesson Professor. It was rather enjoyed. And...I apologize if we took a while." It was Dylan's fault, because he liked to insert flirting when there was the opportunity. Heh. "Have a good day, Professor." And with that, she pulled Dylan out of the classroom.
OOC: I am sorrrrrrrrry if I didn't get a replyyyy in to your posssssssst. I had to go do ghostie thiiiiiiiings. XOXO ~Myrtle~
Well that had escalated quickly. Myrtle wasn't satisfied with the reason there were only 78 cards instead of 52,000+, but she remained quiet and did not rebuke the other students.
For now.
She really wanted a tarot card reading, see, and knew she wouldn't get one if she misbehaved too much. She wasn't PEEVES, for Merlin's beard's sake. She was much lovelier than him.
"Professor Elwoooood," the pearly ghost rang out when the students broke into pairs to play snap or whatever, "I'll be in my porcelain office. Pleeeeeeeeease come pay me a visit and do a reading for me pleeeeeeeeeeease. I so looooooooved your lesson."
She batted her eyelashes at all the boys in the room one more time and then made her exit. Through the floor.
