Divination Lesson 1 A new term meant a new term full of new students (and returning ones) and new subjects to be discovered. Calista had decided to keep the Divination classroom like it was decorated at the end of the year before, with the heavy curtains pulled back from the windows to allow fresh air and sunlight fill the room and land on the raised platform of desks arranged in a semi-circle facing her desk. |
Christmas entered the divination classroom and said "Good morning Professor" Christmas took a seat at the front of the class eager to learn |
Alyssa quietly entered the Divination classroom. She noticed Professor Elwood sitting cross legged at ther desk, so she walked up to her and greeted her with a smile. "Hello Professor Elwood. It is very good to be back in your class." Then Alyssa noticed the chocolate frogs that had been placed at each desk. "Oh and thank you for the candy." Alyssa said with a grin before making her way to the nearest desk and plopping herself in it. She pocketed the chocolate frog before pulling out her textbook, opened it up and started reading while waiting for class to start. |
Laura walked into the Divination class and smiled. "Good day Professor Elwood." Laura smiled as she held out some chocolates for the Professor to take. "I got these for you, as a sorry present for being so silly in your class last year." Laura sighed. Laura smiled as she went and sat down, she decided that she would take her text book out, she was hoping that the lesson would be awesome and she had made a note to herself that she would try her hardest to get things right. "Did you have a good summer Professor?" Laura hoped that the Professor had. |
Divination. An alright subject in Nessie's opinion. In fact it was facinating at times. With her usual pout on her face Renesmee popped her head through the trapdoor and into the classroom only to smile widley when she saw her favorite chocolate placed on each desk. "CHOCO---" Umm..maybe shouting wasn't entirely polite, but chocolate frogs in class! This was exciting..even though it was just chocolate. Actually no it was not just chocolate it was CHOCOOOLAAATE! "Sorry." She uttered quietly as she neared the Professor.The Professor would understand though, yes? Hopefully, because if there was one thing Nessie loved food wise it was chocolate frogs! "Hello, Professor." Beam. Teeth even showing beam! That's how happy Ness was. "Are the chocolate frogs for us to eat?" Because if there were there for show that would be sad. |
So. Many. Stairs. Jake was actually breathing kinda heavy as he popped his head into the classroom through the trap door. He looked around, smiling when he realized he was one of the first ones there. That hardly ever happened. And with all these stairs to climb, it was a feat that Jake was proud of. He grinned as he stood up, waving at the professor. "Hello, Professor Elwood," he said cheerfully as he walked to her desk. "Have a nice holiday?" Continuing past her, he took a seat at a desk. His eyes lit up when he saw the chocolate frog. Welcome back indeed. Opening it, he bit the head off before setting it back on the wrapper and picking up the card. It was even a card he didn't have yet! Definitely worth the stairs. |
Here he was for another year of Divination. Ethan still thought the subject matter was a little shady, but he really like Professor Elwood so at least the class was bearable The boy gave each of the girls present a friendly smile before finding a seat. Hmm.. that Gryffindor girl looked sort of familiar.. He gave her a quick glance trying to place her before sitting down and noting the treat placed on his desk. Anyone that could appeal to his sweet tooth was alright with him and he gave Elwood a quick thanks as he contemplated whether to eat it now or save it for later. |
Aurora climbed AAAAALL the way up to the Divination classroom and walked in, sitting down behind one of the desks and smiling at the professor. "Hello Professor!" she said cheerily. She was so HAPPY today, okay? OOH CHOCOLATE! Aurora slipped the chocolate frog into her pocket. She'd save that and give it to Theodore... because she wasn't sure if he was happy again after the... thing. And it would cheer him up. |
The next class was Divination.... Again Aquila went wandering around the corridors until she finally saw a few students going straight up a ladder. It did say that the Divinations classroom was through a trap door, so the young Claw carefully made her way up the steps.... ... and stared wide eyed at the classroom.... ... which to her looked a whole lot like a meditation room. Smelled like one too. She clambered up onto the landing, desperately trying to keep her books and parchment from falling all over the place just as she did in Runes. One embarrassing moment per morning is enough thank you. When she righted herself up she breathed happily. Oh this time the Professor is a woman! Giddily she wanted to clap-- and nearly dropped her things again in the process. "Good morning Professor-- " look at the blackboard "-- Elwood!" she beamed then found herself a nice comfy seat-- ---that had a small box. Oh! What is it? She picked up and turned it over in her fingers. Nope never hand anything like this before-- and therefore had no clue what was in it..... |
La la la, Elodie enjoyed Divination actually. She couldn't explain why, and she wasn't going to attempt to, but the thought was there. Somewhere in her brain. Entering the classroom, she offered a BIG smile to Professor Elwood. "Did you have a good holidays, Professor?" Elodie had. ^_____^ Taking a seat at a desk, the thirteen year old's eyes widened. FOOD. EDIBLE FOOD WITH STUFF THAT WAS BAD FOR YOU IN IT. Oh, this was brilliant. "And thank you for the chocolate, also!" It was going in Elodie's bag, and would then be eaten as a midnight snack, or maybe something like 9pm, because Els had a bedtime. And bedtimes were good. |
Mention of Nessie! *luffs* Divination..up in the Divination Tower... Violet made sure to take her time so that she wouldn't be out of breath as she walked up the what seemed to be, the never-ending staircase up to the Divination Tower. Although, she did find herself breathing a tad bit heavily as she had made her way. Which was why just for a reassurance she had her hand calmly running along the railing as she went. When she had reached the top of the staircase and reached the classroom, relief had come over Violet. She collected herself before popping her head into the trapdoor, followed by her body. Violet smiled walking over towards Professor Elwood and bowed her head politely saying,"Good morning Professor, I do hope you enjoyed your summer.." She then turned on her heels and made her way towards the desks, picking one in the middle. When she looked down she saw a Chocolate Frog box sitting on her desk and her eyes lit up a little bit. She however did jump when she heard Nessie suddenly burst out at the sight of her Chocolate Frog, which made Violet remember how the girl did enjoy her sweets. Violet giggled and just left her Chocolate Frog alone for now, figuring that she'd just eat it later. In the mean time, she took a moment to get herself organized, by placing her books in one corner of her desk, while placing her peacock feather quill on top of them. She took a breath and then crossed her legs sitting properly waiting patiently for class to begin. |
Minerva walked into her third class of the day. Already the first day was going by really fast and they were making their way into many classes. She smiled as she walked in, Divinations had become on the top of her list of favorite classes over the terms and she was hoping for another great term. Seeing Professor Elwood, Minerva paused and smiled "Hello Professor, I hope you had a great summer." Minerva then turned and smiled at the other students already there, but she made her way to a particular student and sat down next to him. "I hope this seat isn't being saved for some other girl." She joked and winked at Ethan before seeing the chocolate frogs, "Oh a chocolate frog, thanks Professor." |
So... Divination. This was... weird. Alec blinked at the unfamiliar classroom, a weird feeling sweeping over him. Because this did feel weird. He was actually in Divination. What if he knew nothing and came across as 'stupid'? He didn't want that. Shaking his head, the fourth year moved away from the trap door -- Can you believe you had to use a ladder and go through a trap door to get to this class? UNIQUE OR WHAT? -- and started heading towards one of the desks. ... Oh. WAIT. Professor! "Erm... hello Professor!" Eldwood, right? "Hope you had an awesome summer!" A grin and a small wave was given to the blonde woman before Alec continued to move towards an empty desk. He sat down and- CHOCOLATE FROG? ... That was... nice. Yeah. "Erm... thanks for the chocolate frog, Professor," he called. He placed the wizarding chocolate into his bag before pulling out his parchment, a quill, inkpot and, of course, his books. There. Rowan entered the classroom. "Hello Professor," she said with a smile. Looking around the room she noticed the chocolate frogs carefully placed on each desk. "Are those frogs for us...to have?" It may have seemed like a silly question but, given some of her other classes, she never knew what to think and decided it was always better to ask than to assume anything while at Hogwarts. |
Divination, Diiiiivination, Bliss sang in her head and she made her way into the classroom. It surprised her how excited she was for this lesson. Maybe Divination was going to become one of her favourite lessons? MAYBE. Besides Potions, Charms and CoMC that was. Bliss strolled into the classroom and gave Professor Elwood a huuuge smile as she walked past. "Hello, Professor. I hope you had a SUPERB holiday!" Bliss enthused. BEAM BEAM. Divinations.......the oe and only subject that Nate might pass. Een though he didn't really like it there at Hogwarts Nate still loved Divination. After all he does love his tarot cards. Upon entering Nate scanned the room for an isolated seat....like how his family isolated him during the summer. As soon as he found one he walked over to it and sat down. Thankfully it was a ll the way in the back of the room, with no one sitting around him. Another good thing about that is no one would have to talk to him! He was so happy to be unhappy! "Hello Professor." he said to the Professor. Then he noticed how the teacher was nice enough to place chocalate frogs on there desks......ughh.....niceness!!!! One of the many things Nate despised. |
When subjects and classes had been talked about even before she headed off to school, one of the things that had come up was the fact as a third year she would be allowed to take subjects that were considered electives outside the main subject courses. Everything from Runes to Divination...Arithmacy to Care of Magical Creatures. Ellura had been just a little overwhelmed and unsure of what she should take. Finally she opted to take a look at each and decide later on which classes were right for her. It was for this reason that when the notice went out for the first divination class of the term, Ellura was paying attention. The girl heading up the spiral staircases to the appropriate tower and finally making her way up the ladder to the classroom. Certainly was a tall order to get to the lesson with zigs and zags alone the way but finally she was there. There were several students as well as te professor...her name written on the blackboard at the front of the room for ease of memory. That was a plus. "Hello Professor Elwood," she greeted with a polite smile as she made her way over to a free desk, taking a seat and setting her sachel down beside her feet. |
Belle remembered the Divination lessons from last year. She was always happy to go to Divination and learn. As she got up to the seventh floor and climbed the stairs, she was out of breath. Belle was out of shape and had to get used to it. Once she entered the classroom, Belle saw the professor. "Good morning professor and i hope you had an amazing summer." she smiled politely. Then once she got to her desk she noticed it had a chocolate frog on it. "Ooooh thank you very much for the chocolate frog professor." Belle smiled and was tempted to eat it. |
Selina was TOO excited for Divination to start. Mainly it was because the redhead had a, ahem, natural affinity for the subject. Her and Elwood were similar in that regard, but she really did enjoy this class. So, dropping her uncharacteristic apprehensiveness that had been trailing her around thus far, she walked into the classroom with shoulders high ready to CONQUER ANYTHING! Yeah, she was totally ready. Walking up to Elwood's desk, she grinned at her Professor and said, "Hello Professor Elwood... have a nice holiday?" By the way, Selina had to make a mental note to go and visit Elwood. She had some questions about some things. Yeah. Taking her seat, Selina was blissfully oblivious to what was on her desk UNTIL she looked down. O___________________O WAS THAT A CHOCOLATE FROG?! Selina let out a scream and swatted the thing off of her desk, "GET AWAY!", she flailed. NO WAY NO HOW WAS SHE GOING TO DEAL WITH THAT TERRIFYING PIECE OF CHOCOLATE! WHERE WAS KURUMI WHEN YOU NEEDED HER?! |
Melanie made her way towards the Divination classroom slowly. There were just so many stairs and that bothered her a bit. She hadn't though that she was this out of shape and with tryouts coming up soon, she supposed she ought to get back in shape or something. She wasn't cutting down on the noodles though. When she finally reached the classroom, she grinned. YES. She had done it. "Hello Professor Elwood~" Melanie practically sang. Because she wasn't late either which was a plus since she had nearly forgotten how to get here. Melanie did hear something very interesting when she was about to take a seat though. Or well, maybe not interesting... just kinda scary. It caused Melanie to jump a little, eyes wide as she looked around the room quickly before seeing it was Selina who had done it. She looked at the chocolate frog that had been swat away. Oh right... Miss Selina was afraid of those. "I'll give it to Queen Alice~" Melanie said, smiling, and picking it up Miss Selina's rejected chocolate frog. She stuck it in her bag and picked the one off of her desk. "Chocolate frogs are friends. Not food." And she shoved that one in her bag too. |
A bit of Selina and Melanie too XD Lex didn't know how she felt as she walked into the Divination Classroom. On the one hand the subject wasn't half bad but on the other they would be inside which meant no shooting things with arrows. Rather disappointing but she supposed she'd get over it eventually. "Hello Professor!" She said a little distractedly as she tried to find the right seat. Yup. There was such a thing as the right seat and when she found it she would know. After standing quite stationary for a bit longer she thought she spotted one and shuffled over to it-- O_______O bjvbfkjdgcjbu!!!! "CHOCOLATE FROGS!!!" EEEEEEeeeeeepppp!!! She whipped around with a wide grin. "Thanks Professor!!" And now the young Gryffindor was bouncing but just then she heard someone else screaming. It would've been great 'cept then the screaming wasn't the happy kind. Just as she turned to see what Scary-Bat Girl might have screaming at and heard Melanie offer to hand the seemingly swatted frog to Alice. NO. "She already has a pet frog, I want it!!" No more chocolate frog pets! That's not what they were fooooooor! |
Natalie wasn’t exactly sure what her opinion was on Divination. Since she was an avid reader, she had read plenty about the subject. Those stories about famous Seers intrigued her. But she still had her doubts about a thing or two. Nevertheless, her uncertainty was not going to stop her from taking the class. Perhaps the Divination professor would be able to help her See past the haziness of this branch of magic. … Or maybe not? From what the young girl could tell, her professor had misplaced her seat. Well, at least Natalie wouldn’t need an Inner Eye to find her seat. Ignoring the simple fact that the woman was sitting on her desk, she went up to her and handed over an apple like the good student she was. “Hello, Professor Elwood.” Yes, she had seen the name on the blackboard. “I’m Natalie Pillsbury, fifth year Ravenclaw. I’m looking forward to your lesson today.” And with that nice introduction, the girl smiled and found a place to sit. That was when she noticed the chocolate frogs. Natalie sighed, not approving of how the professor was promoting unhealthy food to her peers. So far Professor Elwood had zero gold stars. Pity. |
Audrey was so pumped for school. She'd always loved learning things, and being put into this entirely new world with entirely new subjects had her practically skipping to class. She'd read the textbook already, of course. The stairs didn't seem to bother her one bi, despite the fact she pretty much sprinted up themt; the same was true with the ladder. She gave the professor her slightly crooked-toothed smile. "Hello, Professor Elwood," Audrey was grateful for the name written clearly on the blackboard. "My name's Audrey Moran and..wow! Chocolate!" Audrey lost her train of thought when she saw the frogs and blushed. "I'm really excited for this lesson," she finished, her smile a bit sheepish now. "And thank you so much for the chocolate." she added happily. All of the nerves she'd had last night had vanished. Audrey was always comfortable in a classroom. The small girl took a seat front and center. She took out a purple spiral notebook and ballpoint pen; she wasn't a fan of the parchment and quill method. She had bought some of the heavy paper and a few cheap quills in Diagon Alley for her assignments, but she would do her notes in the muggle fashion she preferred. Audrey headed the page 'Divination Lesson 1' in her not exactly pretty (but easy to read) handwriting. |
Climb...Climb....CLIIMB alllllll the way up to the Divination classroom. Honestly, Ella Bishop was not cut out for all those stairs. Her legs always felt super wobbly and wibbly and such when she finally arrived, making the rest of her feel quite weird. MEH. BUT....DIVINATION! The blonde quite liked this class as it was always pretty interesting, even if she didn't always understand what they were discussing. The fifteen year old badger BEAMED at the Profressor, giving her a little wave. "Hi Professor, hope you had a nice summer!" Ella then looked around and smiled at the classmates she knew before her eyes landed on...GRIN! Alec was here? He...wouldn't mind if she sat next to him, yeah? "Hey Hair Whipper." She whispered in greeting before sliding into the desk beside him and taking the chocolate frog. BEAM. That would be saved for later. Oh...and now to get out ink and parchment, yeah? |
Divination. Jory always enjoyed the lessons. And the fact that he got Outstanding at OWL made him like the subject even more. "Good day, Professor Elwood,'' he said cheerfully as he entered the class. "Great to see you again.'' He went off to find a seat. "Chocolate frog!'' he thought. "Thanks, Professor.'' He slipped it into his pocket. Not to wait for the lesson. |
