The first Care of Magical Creatures lesson of the year. Honestly, Selina was excited. They got to work with LIVE animals in this class. What other class had that? As much as she adored Bentley the only thing that they worked with that was remotely creature like was man-eating plants. And if last term was any indication that did NOT end well.

So it was nice to be heading to THIS class knowing that at least they wouldn't be attacked. Or if they were at least it would be safer then a man-eating plant.

Wait... RIGHT?! Ugh, with this school she never knew.

Approaching Professor Newlin, the redhead grinned, "Hello Professor, nice summer?" She hoped so.

Beezus was STOKED. It was their first Care of Magical Creatures lesson and she was simply, plainly excited to see what the weird but lovely Professor Newlin had in store for them this term. Personally, the Ravenclaw was fond of animals and this being a fact, well, that subject always sparked her interest.

And so, with her bag slung over her shoulder, she strode off to the stables.

Er....was she just too early, because she could only see a single person there. And it wasn't even the Professor. It was the Head Girl. O.o Was she lost? Could it be that they weren't holding the class there? "Hi, Selina." Beezus greeted good-naturedly as she passed by the girl.

So, where was Professor Vannie Newlin?

The brunette looked around. No sign of the woman. Only her pet. Hmmm.

"Hey Grise, where's your mommy?" Beezus asked as she gently patted the coati's head. She better be in the right place.

Heading down to the stables for the first Care of Magical Creatures lesson, all Kendall could think about was Midir. She wondered how the little fire crab was doing, and if he was even still at Hogwarts. Professor Newlin could have sent them back to a reservation, if there needed to be room for some other cool creatures that they’d be studying this term. She was curious about that as well, although also a bit concerned that the board of governors people being around was going to make classes less interesting for a while. It was possible the professors were all told to make lessons safer while the adults were sitting in on classes after all, but she desperately hoped not. She liked the unpredictability of CoMC, and as she stepped inside the stable, that appeared to be what she was going to get.

At least, there didn’t seem to be any of the board people there, and not even Professor Newlin. Which meant her question about Midir would have to wait until after the lesson, probably. In fact, the only person there appeared to be Selina the head girl, along with Beezus, and she nodded at the older redhead as she made her way toward a hay bale to take a seat. She didn’t really know the Gryffindor, after all, aside from by name and by remembering her delivering Kurumi cookies to the Claw table during the feast. She'd sent Beezus a grin, though. "Hi Beezus!," she greeted her friend and prefect, before looking at the other occupant of the stables. The coati standing by the chalkboard was immensely more interesting, and she reached a hand out toward the animal carefully, a strawberry in it. She figured the animal probably wouldn’t want chocolate, or at least Professor Newlin wouldn’t appreciate her feeding her pet chocolate when she wasn’t around to say it was okay. Fruit usually was okay though, and she’d snagged the berry at breakfast. She definitely didn’t want to approach the coati without some offering.

Lana quietly made her way toward the stables and the first Care of Magical Creatures lesson. She really wasn't sure what to expect. It wasn't like she had paid much attention the previous years, but she did feel like it was time to make more of an effort though. What harm would come of her applying herself more anyway? Maybe she could actually retain what she was supposed to.

As she approached the stables, she glanced around. There didn't seem to be too many people there yet, which she was okay with considering how well she did with large groups of people and all. Seeing her own housemates there, she at least knew she was in the right spot; at alone was reassuring for her. Seeing a cozy seat, she set her things down and looked around. Wasn't it normal for the professor to be there?

There was the chalkboard and beside it, Grise the coati. Blinking as she watched Beezus interact with the coati, Lana shrugged. She had expected to see Professor Newlin, but again she reasoned with herself that she was just early and had beat the crowd. Of course, they had to be in the night place. Where else would the lesson be held?

Excited and enthusiastic, Cassia headed to the lesson. Because it was one of the lesson s she raised her hand and spoke and rarely blinked at the professor. That was because she liked creatures except her owl and liked knowing more about them, she also bother and opened a book. Mhmm. So with such spirit she headed to the grounds. Skipping towards there with her bag bumping against, the third year was curious of what they were going to learn today. It was the first lesson so Professor Newlin must be preparing a HUGE thing. It felt very reasonable to the girl.

Arriving as she did with a smile. She looked around and couldn't find the woman. Which made the third-year's smile widen because that meant that Professor Newlin was preparing the cool huge thing they were going to learn today. There was no other explanation to that. Definitely! Walking towards Grise and grinned. Because that, unlike her owl, was a cool animal. Like her cats back at home..Except they were the coolest. The blonde, reached to her bag and rummaged some then retrieved a small jar that contained a couple of worms. Those were mainly for her evil owl but Cassia wanted that creature to starv to death. So she out the worms before the coati and turned on her heals towards the seats.

She set her bag down but didn't sit herself. Because she was excited and didn't like to sit when excitement was flowing out of her. Besides it was a matter of time until Professor Newlin got here with whatever cool thing they were going to learn. Eeeeep.

This was a momentous day. First ever Care of Magical Creatures class for West Scanlan Odessa. Third year was shaping up to be the BEST year just because of all the fun classes he could now attend, and sooooon HOGSMEADE.

Also, kissing. Kissing was awesome also.

He found himself a seat and looked around for the professor. Nope? Okay. He'd eat a chocolate frog instead. West tugged one from his pocket and got down to the important business of unwrapping it.

Nigel entered the stables ready to greet Professor Newlin. But all he found was a animal. Nigel did not know its name or even if it was a male or female. Maybe she would tell them when she arrived why it was here.

Nigel looked around for the Professor. But gave up when he could not find her. But he did see the comfy looking seats and the chalkboard.

Hmm. Maybe this will be a lecture class and not as hands on as other lessons. But Nigel full attention went to the seats and decided to sit in one until she showed up. They were really comfy.

Care of Magical Creatures was definitely a class Kat had to pay more attention to. Why? Once again, she had a toad now. B.O.B. needed intense care since Kat really loved him that much. Mhm. Totally not unhealthy. It was normal to be protective of your pets.

The Slytherin joined her fellow students. Newlin wasn't there, but some sort of... raccoon was. Was that even a raccoon? Whatevs, Kat didn't even wanna know. Her toad was awesomer. Kat looked around to see who were there already. She knew most of them of course. There was the new Head Girl, Selina. She didn't really know her that well though. But she noticed her friends including the Stunner, Kendall, Cassia, and... oh, West. Okaaaay. Everyone of her friends (only. COUGH.) got a quick smile from her before she finally took a seat.

What's gonna be the lesson about, huuuuuuuh?

Alyssa was excited to be back at the Magical Creatures Sanctuary again. She had missed working with the creatures. Unfortunately, she didn't have a chance to attend any of the new Professor's classess and was feeling apprehensive, but by the looks of the students who had arrived earlier than her, they didn't seem to look too scared.

As she entered the stables, she noticed that the Professor wasn't present but the students seems to be hovering around what looked like a racoon? Wait was it begging for food? Alyssa would have loved to feed it but she wasn't sure whether that was allowed...or what it ate.

So she decided to let the other students play with the cutesy and walked over to find a seat and waited for class to start.

Wade had a soft spot for the creatures, "Doing alright there, little one?" He asked fondly, not expecting a response. He wished he had brought treats for the cute one, but with little choice made his way to an empty seat before the Professor arrived..

..Wait, rows of chairs and a large chalkboard? It looks like Wade will need to get comfortable here, because this just screamed loong lecture time. He smiled while nodding at Alyssa who was already seated nearby. Maybe she could be his study buddy seeing how smart she is..

Sarah headed out to the place where the lesson would be held. The notice had said that it would be a boring lesson, yet for Sarah nothing was boring (well except for sleep). So if the lesson itelf was boring at least she could catch up on some people watching which she had not done for a long while. Cassia looked quite happy so that is why Sarah greeted her first, "hey!" she called. The others looked interesting, yet she needed more time to make an analysis. The teacher was not there yet, something Sarah noticed because she was not the type to greet people by rote, so she first looked for the teacher. The teacher always seemed not to be there when they arrived, although Sarah remembered that memorable time when they got to dig in the ground for worms for their fire crabs, then the professor was there before them, picking worms. worms. She sat down on one of the bales (making sure she was in hearing distance of West, who always had something interesting to add) and swung her satchel over onto her lap. She hated taking notes, she could not read them mostly afterwards, and besides, once she heard things she usually remembered things. This year she would only take notes in potions... or unless she wa commanded by teacher. She greeted the others with a smile, lingering on West for bit longer then the others (yet he was too busy opening his chocolate frog to see) and then her gaze landed on the cute animal. It was interesting, Sarah wondered what it ate, what its name was... so she flashed it a very big smile cute

The first CoMC lesson of the year. Jory was looking forward to being back for these classes. They were always so fascinating.

The first thing he noticed was the creature that looked like a raccoon. He wondered why the were going to be studying a normal creature today. He shrugged. Ah well, as longs as he learnt new stuff. The Puff hurried off to find a seat.

Yawn.

Tired was an understatement to what Nessie felt at the current moment. Tryouts always used every bit of her energy and she always struggled to focus on anything else during this time, including how she looked. It was for that reason when Ness walked towards the grounds that she did not look entirely neat and tidy in her uniform. Her shirt was a little untucked, she wasn't wearing her badge and her hair was tied up in a messy bun. She tried alright? But getting dressed with your eyes half closed was no easy task.

Opening her mouth for yet another yawn, the Hufflepuff entered the stables and took a seat down. She didn't even notice that the Professor wasn't there nor that there was an animal. She was dazed and the most she did for now, was stare blankly at the blank board.

Things seemed really crazy at the moment. Theo was having a hard time keeping up, especially since he had a few days of being kinda sick. But he was on the mend now, and was ready for the first Care of Magical Creatures lesson. Was he excited? Eh, not particularly.

But he did enjoy seeing all sorts of animals. Because most of them were some he'd never heard of before!

He found a haystack-seat-thing next to West, and he sat on it. His bestie seemed caught up in a chocolate frog, which silently outraged Theodore. Were they allowed to eat chocolate frogs in class? Merlin's sauce... anyway... he watched the badger curiously for ages.

Shouldn't there be like... a professor keeping tabs on that thing?

Susan walked towards the stalls where Care of Magical Creatures class was today. She hoped they would meet something awesome today. Although being the first day meant they probably weren't, but Sue kept her hopes up anyways.

When Sue entered the stalls she noticed that the seats were made out of hay...they looked really cute, she hoped they were comfy and didn't poke her when she sat down. The Professor wasn't there yet so Susan decided to head straight for a seat towards the front of the class. Once Sue sat down she noticed a cute little creature at the front of the...well...um...classroom. She smiled at it but didn't make any movements towards it...she didn't know if it was friendly or not...or if it even was aloud to be touched. So Sue just sat there patiently waiting for the professor to arrive.

Care of Magical Creatures was Ella's all time favorite class. Mhm! It had absolutely nothing to do with the fact she'd spent the first two terms at Hogwarts drooling over Professor Handsome Face either, NOPE. It was because they got to learn and interact with creatures! This was something Ella was considering more and more as a possible future profession so she was positively smiley when she entered the stables and looked around.

Hmmm no Professor Newlin? Strange. Instead the blonde walked up to the creature she'd met last term and smiled. "Hello Grise!" Stroke. Stroke. Stroke.

The fifteen year old then headed over and found herself a seat. BEAM. This class was going to be great.

Christmas entered the Care of Magical Creatures classroom and wondered where the professor was but took a seat and waited for the lesson to start

Care of Magical Creatures?

Meh. It was better than Potions, in Alice's eyes, 'cause she could blow up any cauldrons in here. But STILL. It was difficult. She had especially disliked it when that professor— y'know, the one with the face that looked like it had been medically engineered to be perfect?— had been teaching. His teeth had been WAY too shiny and she hadn't been able to concentrate. And also had been totally blinded. Ahem. But Professor Newlin's fangs weren't nearly as bright, so she figured her eyes were safe for the time being.

Anyways, she was THERE. And there was no Professor. Mhm. So Alice just EYED that funny animal thing.. wasn't it name Grease or something? .. and sat on a haystack. And waited.

Care of Magical Creatures!!!

Seth, has been looking forward for this class since the beginning of the term! Not many people knew that, this young Gryffindor was a devoted animal lover!

He entered the room,finding a place to sit. Grise caused a warm smile to brew on his face! The animal was too adorable and very interesting. So far Seth's been serious in classes, but this was a class that was making him beam and smile.

Very interesting, how animals have a positive effect on the Mad Hatter.

Minerva walked slowly into the barn. She hadn't been in here since the birds lesson. Seeing other students she smiled, oh there was Susan. Walking towards her she smiled, "Hey Susan are you enjoying school so far?"

Looking at the Grise, Minerva smiled it was cute. She decided not to go up to it since other students were already there. Finding a seat she looked back at Susan, "Want to sit next to me this class?"

Lex walked briskly over to the stables where her first CoMC class of the term would be held. It was hard to miss the eager look on her face as she settled in among the others. Last term's lesson's were pretty epic, she expected no different of this term's lessons. Nothing could be boring once you added creatures to the mix and the Professor always had some nice ones that she could add to her wish list.

She looked curiously over at the chalkboard when she realized the Professor wasn't there. Oh?

That thing was.

Did Ella just call it Grise? Okay. That was it's name. So they had the creature...now all they needed was the Professor.

She looked thoughtfully at the seats for a moment before finally plopping down in the one next to Cassia. "Hey!" Looking around she gave a wave to Alice, Kat, Sarah and Ella.

Susan was just watching some of the students play with the cute animal when she heard a familiar voice. "Min! Hi, ya I am loving classes. All the professors are great and very welcoming. How are your classes going?" Susan was so excited to see Min, now this class would be awesome no matter if they saw a cool animal or not. [b]"I would love to sit next to you. So as anything fun happened to you today?" Sue felt like she hadn't seen Min in forever and wanted to catch up, even though they did just see each other.

YAYYY Alex's favorite class! He couldn't wait to get started, and he just hoped that they didn't have to work with fire crabs anymore. Softy had been cool and all, but he was sort of over those creatures. Time for something new and DANGEROUS!

He settled down in one of the nice comfy seats and waited for class to begin.

Peyton skipped down to Care of Magical Creatures. That was a class she didn't mind attending. She liked creatures, what with all the fluffiness and great, big, CUTE eyes. She didn't like the ugly ones though. Or the dangerous ones. Or the oozing ones. Or the ones with more than four legs. Or the ones that could eat her.

Except dragons. Dragons were cool.

She entered the stables and glanced at the haystacks. They...weren't going to sit on those were they? She wouldn't mind it so much if she was wearing pants, but she was wearing her school skirt, so....yeah.

"I hope there's normal seats around," she said, going to stand next to Seth. Yes, she'd seen him the minute she entered the stables. Peyton fidgeted with the sleeve of her robe. This wasn't cool! >.<
