After she was done recovering from her mini heart-attack, Sophie looked back at the piece of parchment and BEAMED.

Finally it was time to use a spell! Woop! "Perform Fingere Elementi to change the powdered elements into gases." She read it out loud as she let the words sink in. Change the powder into gas. Huh. Interesting!

"Fingere Elementi." Sophie repeated still eyeing the parchment on her hands. "Fingere Elementi." Hm, sounded simple enough. Powder into gas. Cool!

Time to perform le spell then! Hohohoho! She was more than ready! Grabbing her wand, the Hufflepuff staaaaaared at the powdered elements in her jar.

WAIT! The lid! Sophie was sure she had read something about the lid. She rested her wand hand on the table next to the jar as she held the piece of parchment with her left hand and looked for the bit she was thinking about. Yep, the 'put the lid on it' bit was before the 'casting spell' bit. Phew, that was close.

SO, Sophie put the lid on the jar and closed it tightly. As tightly as she could, at least. Maybe it wasn't that tight, but anyway. The girl eyed her wand and thought about casting a spell to make it tighter. That thought made her wonder if she was becoming obsessed with spells...

Nonsense!

The fourth year didn't cast the spell, though. She would trust her own physical strength this time. Besides, if it was really needed, professor Flamsteed would have mentioned something about it. The lid was fiiine!

BACK TO THE ACTUAL SPELL THEN! Yay!

...What was it again? "Fingere Elementi!" The girl said it excitedly after she glanced at the parchment once more. Okaaay! She finally pointed her wand at the closed jar and stared at the powdered elements again. "Fingere Elementi!"

Was it instantaneous? Would it take forever? What was suppoed to happen, exactly? How long did it take?? So many questions went through Sophie's mind the second after she cast the spell.

Anya nodded. She found it kind of cute how worried that Jake was about his star. Of course, she wouldn't say that. Jake got all... guyish when she used the word cute and would insist that he wasn't. And... going through that at the moment just didn't seem worth the time.

So... she just smiled and put on her coat and glasses.

And now that she looked like she was dressed for the lab... she found her jar and brought it over to Jake's.

"Hey there little Blake..." she said in a soft voice bending down to look at it at eye level. Crap. It had gone white.

She found her notes and flipped through it... White star... white star... she mumbled under her breath.

Looking down, Jake folded up his cloak and set it in his lap while Anya went to get her star. He glanced over at her with a small smile before looking at Twinkle.

...Blue. It was blue.

Jake frowned. He'd made sure to take care of it before he left. And here it was, obviously unhealthy. Well, at least he knew what to do, and didn't have to look at his notes. He scooted his stool away from the table and looked at the star at eye level. Slowly, he pulled out his wand. "Dextrini Potitus," he mumbled, jabbing his wand at the jar and flicking sharply downward. He watched for a second... and it slowly faded to a less blue blue. A light blue. That still wasn't yellow.

After looking at Anya for a second, Jake looked back to his star, sitting up straight. Okay, Twinkle. Anya's watching. Don't let me look like an idiot, okay?

"Dextrini Potitus," he said again. Jab... flick.

...Yellow.

Jake breathed a sigh of relief, his lips slowly turning up into a grin. He saved the day. Again.

OH! Anya found the spell. ... Crescere Hydrogenenii. ... okay. She could pretend she could figure out how to pronounce that. She stared at the word for several seconds.

Alright. She had this.

"Crescere Hydrogenenii." she said.

...without doing any of the wand motions. Whoops. "Sorry Blake. Lemme try that again..."

"Crescere." she said with a tight circle. "Hydrogenenii." Wand!Jab.

She then leaned in close to the jar again. Okay... still... whiteish. Well more of a pale yellow. She'd have to try the spell again. "Crescere Hydrogenenii." she said with a circle and a jab of her wand. There. That looked better.

She smiled at the jar. "Hush little Blakey... don't say a word... momma's gunna..." Wait. What would star!Blake do with a mockingbird.

"... fix your... hydrogenlevels."

She then looked up at Jake with a shy smile. "Doesn't translate well..." He could just ignore what just happened, right?

Alec clutched his jar!star a little closer to him as he watched the events of the little tea party unfold. It was... nice, actually. The way they, Hulk and Melanie, were going to sit down and... have some tea? What do you even really do at tea parties? Drink tea and... talk? That sounded a lot like the candy parties that him and Messy tended to have at the beginning of the year after the Start of Term feast.

... Have they been having tea parties in the boy's dorm all along?

But before he could ponder on this thought any longer, Astro Man had come along and was... telling them off? ... Sad!face. He didn't really hear much of what was being said but the word 'detention' managed to reach the fifteen year old's ears which just made him... frowny. Poor Hulk and Melanie.

... Wait... could you bring detentionees ice cream?

Alec couldn't help but grin at the thought while he cradled his little bundle of joy star-in-a-jar which... speaking of... the jar felt really warm. Alec blinked and peered into the jar at his star which was...

... BLUE?! AGAIN? WHY WAS IT BLUE AGAIN?!

His grey-blue eyes widened a little as he stared at his jar. No... no no no! Blue was this star's code for danger, right? ... Right. And according to his little piece of parchment, it was blue because it was a little too hot. But... that had happened before. And it was because the star was too hot. "What's wrong? Why do you feel so hot? Is this like a really hot summer's day to you where there's no ice cream?" ... He kind of liked using his surname unintentionally in a sentence. Kind of.

... Heh... SUMMER! GRIN.

No, focus Summers! Alec reached over and grabbed his wand, frowning some more at his star. "You'll be okay, yeah? Hang in there buddy!" Spell spell spell... "Dextrini Potitus!" JAB and flick downwards! This spell seemed to be easier the second time around. And... it seemed to be taking effect a lot longer! So less frantic father star-owner moment.

... Really... when had he got attached to a star?!

"There, there!" he said, patting the top of his jar which now contained a yellow star, "You're a strong little star! Keep it up, dude!"

Jake was not taking the chance of looking away from Twinkle again. He leaned forward, resting his arms on the table and his head on his arms. Maybe the star was like a watched pot? If you stared at it, it wouldn't do anything. And that's what Jake wanted his star to do. Nothing.

Anya's star, on the other hand, was apparently doing something. Jake kept his eyes on his own as he listened to her try to do the spell... and sing. She was singing. Laughing lightly, Jake sat up and looked over. Pressing his lips together to keep from smiling, he shook his head in response. No, that didn't translate.

However, that was a good song. And maybe more singing would keep Twinkle from going red or blue again. So... "And if your-" Wait. If wasn't very confident. "And when your hydrogen is fixed... um... daddy's gonna buy you a..." He glanced at Anya. What did you buy stars? "...Daddy's gonna show you off...to...six... ...people." ...Right. That worked.

Anya went back to looking at her jar. That was a very horrible attempt at a lullaby.

Oh wait. Correction. Jake's was worse. She giggled a little looking up at him. She then turned her attention back to the star in her jar.

"And if those people aren't impressed... Momma's going to ... ... holdaprotest."

She then burst out laughing. "We should have stopped like 5 minutes ago." she said standing up. "That was awful. I'm surprised Blake didn't just... burn out."

LE DRAMATIC GASP!

Sophie was not expecting the spell to work so fast! Her eyes wiiiiiiiiiidened when before her, inside the jar she had closed tightlyy, was her very own star. Wow. Wooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwww!!

"Blimey!" The girl leaned forwards and stared at the yellow star in awe. Good thing she was wearing those funny goggles. Would she get blind if she looked directly to the star without a protective gear? What would happen if she actually opened the jar? And what if she took it with her outside?

Blink.

Of course she wouldn't do it. Professor Flamsteed was very emphatic about these matters. And she wasn't brave enough to try and do it all herself. Nope. Besides, she wasn't really that curious. Sophie was just wondering, that was all.

Anyway, the star was pretty. And it needed a name. Sophie thought... and thought and thought. The first name that popped into her mind was Skylar and the Hufflepuff actually wondered why. She had heard that name before, but couldn't remember where it was from... and she was pretty sure it wasn't really spelled that way.

Hm....

The star didn't look like Skylar, though. "Kay, what would your name be, star thingy?" Sophie asked, bringing the jar closer to her face. She really had no idea. "Can you even hear me?" The girl tilted her head. Stars were just balls of gas or something like that, they didn't have feelings, right? But... since this was a magical star, who knew. Sophie didn't really doubt anything when it came to Hogwarts.

..."I have no idea what to call you, thingy." Star thingy. Twinkly thingy. Thingy. "Um..." Sophie thought some more, resting her chin on the table, one hand placed on each side of the jar in front of her. She stayed that way for long seconds, just watching the yellow star glow and be pretty.

It looked like someone had cast a spell on it... a Glowing Charm. Or even... it looked like the star was some sort of Lumos that could be kept in a jar...

Lumos. Lumos thingy. Lumi. "Lumi?" Luumiiii? Sophie sat up straight, looking at the wall in front of her as she pondered about that name. "Lumi..." She repeated, looking down at the star in the jar. "Yeah, that could work!" Woooo! So the girl got her quill again and wrote down her Star name right under her own name on the colourful label thing.

Jake heard that giggle. He bit his lip, busying himself with his star so he didn't start blushing. Did he really just call himself Twinkle's dad? How embarrassing. But... Anya was calling herself 'momma.' And her star's name was Blake. So... Jake figured he was okay. Considering.

He slid Twinkle's jar over toward Blake, setting his hands in his lap as Anya continued the song. A protest? That rhymed, at least...

One Anya was laughing, Jake let himself laugh too. "Wow. That was... awful." Yeah. He wasn't even going to bother to deny it. They did not do well with duets, that was for sure.

Jake looked at Twinkle, tilting his head slightly. "What do you say get out of here before we start singing again?" He was sure he could get worse. Twinkle had a Little Lamb or Twinkle, Twinkle Is a Star were at the top of his head. And he did NOT want that to happen. So he stood up, carefully sliding Twinkle away from the edge of the table before looking at Anya. "Shall we?"

Lumi was such a nice name. Not only it was adorable and all that, but it had come from a spell and that was oh so COOL! Sophie smiled and beamed at her own idea as she eyed the little star inside the jar.

"You know, it would be brilliant if I could cast a few Charms on you." She said casually as she looked around the lab as she kept the jar between her hands, resting her elbows on the table. "Imagine if I could enlarge you! Or make you very, veeery tiny." Sophie went on daydreaming as she stared at one spot on the wall, not really paying attention to it as her eyes sparkled. "Or... even make you all rainbowy! Instead of being just plain yellow. Not that I don't like yellow, it's Hufflepuff's colour. But when something's colourful it's even more int-"

Was Sophie suddenly able to cast the Colour Changing Charm without her wand?? Or EVEN without intending to??? Why in Merlin's pants was Lumi RED all of a sudden?? "That's a very beautiful colour, Lumi, but I'm afraid there's something wrong with you!" dkfnsjkd was her star going to die?? She had just come to life! That was so saaaaaad!!!

It was only then that Sophie remembered the rest of the stuff written on that piece of parchment she kept. She quickly looked for what could be happening to her star.

"Your star will turn blue when it is too hot and red when it is too cold." Sophie read out loud once again, then looked at the jar. "You're cold!" She would swear it would be the other way around. That was strange, but maybe that was how stars worked. Shrug. BUT! She got to do another spell! HOORAY!! "Dextrini Potitus." And she read how the wand movement was supposed to go.

Uh... the star was red, so it was cold. So the temperature had to go up... so it'd be a jab with a flick upwards. Sophie took a moment to let this information sink in and did the motion with her bare hand. "Right. Dextrini Potitus." Potitus. Such a funny word. Heh! But she had to go fast, as her star was getting redder?? Was that it? Meep! "I'm sorry, Lumi!" Such a bad star parent Sophie was. Merlin. "Dextrini Potitus!" Jab with upward flick. And she stared at the star for a bit.

Theeeere! It was going back to its original yellow. Nice! But... but there was a weird glow around it. Red as well. Why?? Had she not cast the spell correctly? OHNO, Sophie was FAILING at spells!! That was SO SAD! She didn't even care that much about the star, she had FAILED in a SPELL that was quite simple! A simple spell and she failed! How could she be the Charms Queen if she would fail in simple spells like that!!

Pouting a bit, Sophie reread the text from the parchment to figure what she had done wrong, only to realise that the red glowing meant something completely different than wrong temperature.

Anya smiled a little more at her little Blakey!Star. It was a shame they weren't allowed to take them out of the room. She would happily keep it as a night light or something. How fun would that be? An actual star as a night light!

She then smiled at him. At least... they could sing weird star songs together, right? Heh.

"Sounds great." she said watching him slide his little jar around. Wait. Did she even know what he'd named the Star? She'd have to ask later.

She slid Blake next to Jake's star. "They'll keep each other company." she said before planting a quick goodbye kiss on Blake's lid.

"Later, Blake. Be a good little star." she said before returning the lab coat and glasses. And with that, she left the lab after another successful star!visit.

Ooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhh...

So something ELSE was wrong with Lumi. Ooohhhhh, okay! She could fix that, yep! Especially because it involved another spell, teeheehee. Sophie was not a failure! Woop!

Sophie looked at the parchment again and... huh? The star would glow if there was too much helium. So... she had to use that particular spell right there. What? If it was glowing red it was too much helium but what if it didn't have enough helium and they had to increase it, was it supposed to glow red as well? Or some other colour and she had the notes wrong?

Wat wat wat?

That was confusing. But anyway... there was too much helium in the thingy and Sophie needed to do something about it before her star decided to collapse. That wouldn't be good. "Deminugasalis...?" What a freaky incantation. Almost as bad as that Flipsnitwtwit she could never get right. At least she pronounced it alright. "Deminugasalis." Sounded right enough. The fourth year flicked her wand twice at the jar. "Deminugasalis!"

Slowly, the red glow faded away and Lumi's normal yellow glow filled the jar once again. Sophie smiled at that and watched her star for a few minutes, thinking about all sorts of Charms she could perform on it if she was allowed.

...

Well, apparently nothing much would be happening there. The temperature seemed alright and so did the helium quantity. Lumi was looking healthy and happy - if stars could look happy, that was - in her pretty jar! So it was time for Sophie to go then. She kept watching the star as she packet her things.

"I'll be back, Lumi. Take care!" She told the little star as she put the jar in a safe place and swung her bag on her shoulder, leaving the lab. The goggles and lab coat back in their places as well.

Jake smiled as Anya set Blake next to Twinkle. He leaned forward and kissed the lid without thinking about it. And... Anya did the same thing. Jake grinned, nudging her in the side. She was so weird.

"See ya later, Twinkle," he said as he waved to the jar!star. He'd be back sometime to check on it... since it had a nasty habit of almost dying whenever he wasn't around.

Jake shrugged off his lab coat and took of the glasses, looking back at the stars once before following Anya out of the lab.

OhWoops. Sophie had planned to go there earlier that day but got distracted practicing Charms. Woops.

She quickly grabbed some goggles after putting on the lab coat and rushed to where she had left her star the day before. "Lumi!" She exclaimed a bit dramatically as she reached for the jar and held it in front of her face. "I'm sorry, I came as fast as I could!" After remembering the star, that was. Woooooooops.

Sophie took a moment to observe the star, because it looked quite pretty like that.

OHMERLIN, IT WAS GONNA DIE IF SHE DIDN'T DO ANYTHING! QUICK!

After the thought, the girl immediately pulled out her wand and searched her pockets for the piece of parchment. Her brown eyes scanned the parchment as quickly as she could. Uhhh........ right. She needed to control the temperature and increase the hydrogen. "Right." She said, stuffing the parchment back in her pocket.

The Hufflepuff pulled out the piece of parchment again after realising she didn't know the spells she had to perform by heart. "Dextrini Potitus." And then she mouthed the wand movement. "Right." Sophie repeated as she eyed her star, parchment on her left hand, wand on the right. "Dextrini Potitus!" Jab and downwards flick.

She watched it for a while to make sure the star was going back to its original colour. Once she noticed it was turning yellow again, she looked down to the parchment again. The next spell had to be... "Crescere hydrogen--" What?? "Hydro- Hydrogeneni. Hydrogeneniiiiii." Was that right? "Crescere Hydrogenen. Hydrogenenii." This one was a bit trickier. Meep. "Crescere Hydrogenenii." Okay, that sounded about right. The wand movement sounded a bit specific as well. Circular motion and a jab at the last word. Kay. She could do this.

Staring back at her star, Sophie concentrated a bit before trying to cast the spell. "Crescere" Circle. "Hydrogenenii!" Jab!

Did it work??? The fourteen year-old kept staring at Lumi for a few seconds. She leaned forwards a bit more to take a even better look at her star. The white glowing seemed to have stopped, but Lumi didn't seem to be perfectly normal.

Slight frown. "What's wrong with you, Lumi??" She asked as she started to ponder what could be happening. Sophie looked back at the parchment to reread all of the instructions.

It had just now took Asher to figure out what that clunking noise was. The professor had his pet rock. Cool. He wanted one. Yes, he wanted one. Apparently his two horses, dog, owl, gecko, rabbit, and pygmy puff wasn't enough animals for him. The rock would be sooo easy to take care of. It was decided after this he was going down to the lake, and find a rock to be his pet rock.

He nodded to Flamsteed, "Yeah, I guess kind of like a decoration." He planned on tying the bracelet around the jar. "I was going to tie this around the jar. I made it for Banana." And yes Professor that was the star's name.

Oh to the damaging things. "Yeah. I figured that's why you didn't allow us to keep the stars with us." Nod. It made sense. But the Slytherin couldn't figure out who in the name of Merlin would hang ickles from the jar or put the star in the freezer. Weirdos probably.

He smiled and nodded to flamsteed. He tied the bracelet around the jar. "Here Banana I made this for you."He patted the lid of the jar.

What? His star was just yellow and now it was blue. No Banana you are not a blueberry. silly star

Like every long term assignments that they had over the years, Nerida forgot about it...This time she forgot about it big time. Maybe the Professor didn't check in on the stars. She had come in a couple times to check on it but not like some of the other students.

The Ravenclaw slipped inside the Astrophysics Lab and grabbed a lab coat and the goggles. After putting them on she walked to the shelves with jars and searched for the star labeled with her name! Oh look at that all of them had names....Except for hers? Was she supposed to name it!!

Haha..She should put that on her to do list!

She grabbed her jar and walked to on one of the tables. She set it down and got eye level with it...It wasn't yellow! It was a bluish color!! It was going to turn black she just knew it!!

Maybe...maybe the star was to hot right?? Yes! that must be it. The blond took the notebook from her bag and turned the pages, searching for the assignment she had written down. She grabbed her wand as she read the assignment.

Using a downwards jab, she said "Dextrini Potitus!" and watched as her star turned a bit yellow. It was like a blue yellow..A green? An ugly green! The Ravenclaw tried the spell again only this time said the incantation a bit louder.

Eeeek! Noooooooo!!!!! She flipped to the next page of her notebook and read that when the star was red it meant it was too cold. Huh? So..blue is hot and red is cold. Wasn't it supposed to be the other way.

Alright...Easy enough. Nerida made a jab upwards while saying "Dextrini Potitus".The star color changed from red to yellow.

Yay! It was the right color!

Before putting her jar back she wrote on her jar Twilight Sparkle.

She put her jar back and then returned her goggles and lab coats before leaving the laboratory.

Sierra just looked at her star. Yup, that was all she was doing at the moment. Truth be told, she wasn't really sure what to do with it. It was just...hovering there...in that jar...doing nothing. She jotted down a few notes before deciding that maybe she'd just done enough with it for now.

When she looked up, her star was blue. BLUE. It'd just been normal five seconds ago!!! She fumbled around a little, knocking her quill to the floor, and then moved closer to the star. Yup, it was blue alright. BLUE. Why?! She flipped through her notes trying to discover what was happening.

The star was HOT. Well, duh. It was a STAR. According to her notes, the star was TOO hot, though. She flicked her wand out and aimed it at the star. "Dextrini Potitus!" she said, jabbing forward then flicking down. The temperature needed to go to a lower number, since the hotter numbers were higher.

A few minutes later, her star was back to normal. Oh, good. She hadn't killed it. She stayed with her star for at least a half hour longer then decided to call it a day. She cleaned the area she'd been working in, gathered all her belongings, and then headed for the door.

Nerida walked inside the Astrophysics Laboratory and pulling on a lab coat with the goggles When they had first started she hated the goggles but now she was digging them.

She walked to the shelves with jars and looked at the side where she had last placed her star when she had last visited it. Shoving a few jars aside that weren't hers, until she saw the label! With a small smile she picked it up. As she walked towards one of the desks she noticed one thing, her star was different!!

Reaching a desk, Nerida placed the jar onto the surface and grabbed her note book. Flipping through the pages in it, looking for something that would explain why her star was glowing red!!! It was out of Helium? Nerida read further while looking at the star a few times, trying to see if the symptoms matched. Oh my goodness!!! It was out of Helium!!!! "Cumuggassalis? Cumugasaliss? Cumugasalis...?" After trying many times she pronounced it alright. "Cumugasalis." Sounded right enough. The fourth year flicked her wand twice at the jar. "Cumugasalis!"

Slowly, the red glow faded away and Twilight Sparkle's normal yellow glow filled the jar once again...No more ugly red!!!!! She smiled yeap she didn't like red stars...Not that those were bad but a purple star would be even cuter!

She should sing to it...She thought for a few seconds, wondering which song she would sing when she got it. She took a deep breath and began to sing.

After she was done singing, a faint blush came on her cheeks as she looked around. No one had seen or heard her right? She was good at singing when she was alone but put her in front of people and she would freeze though when she danced she was okay... But at least the star was looking yellow again and it was happy!

Now they had to show love to.. show love to a STAR!! wierd... Sarah thought that not breaking it was enough, yet obviously she had to show that she loved it. So she hugged the jar. "I love you" she said to Estelle, well she liked it as she had made it.

Also wasn't taking care of it showing enough love? Sarah decided to introduce it to its celestial friends. It was still wierd though.

She then attatched a note to her jar
Then she added a message incase there were stupid kids in Hogwarts
She then put her coat back, as well as her goggles and cleaned up her work area. Then she exited the lab. She wanted to come bak again to watch things under the microscope

A little squeal could be heard from the Ravenclaw as she practically threw herself at the jars in her haste. So, she was a bit of a procrastinator and that was okay because here at Hogwarts, we accept each other for who were are, no? But yeah...she really needed to get started on this project. Like now. Blue scribbled her name on a label and smoothed it on to the jar, humming happily. This star would be her's. Like a new pet! Cause she really did need one.

She grabbed a lab coat and goggles, snapping them into place. Time to get cracking. Blue rubbed her hands together and pulled out her wand. "Scourgio." The jar filled with suds. A beam crept across Blue's face, proud of herself. She casually dumped it out into another jar - la, la, la, la, laaaaa - and carefully added the table spoon of helium, then hydrogen. She closed and tightened the lid of the jar, still singing 'Twinkle, twinkle little star' under her breath.

"Fingere Elementi." ....... Blue narrowed her eyes. "FINGERE ELEMENTI." Zomg it was working. WORKINGGG. Her smile grew. "Hello little staaaaar."

Alec picked up his quill and bent down so that his eyes were level with the top of the star. He knew what he had to name the star but... it was a little weird. For one, he had just called it a dude and now... he was going to give it a girl's name? There was something wrong with that.

But... it was the only name he could think of so... Scribble, scribble, scribble...

No one would really know why he named it this... not really. So it was just a little something between him and his star and that kind of made things... special. Yeah. Like they had some sort of connection.

Moving on... "Erm... so hey Becky!" This was... really weird... "I really don't know what to say now but... just know... that you got a really special name, yeah?" Nodnod. "But... erm... I hope you're okay, little star! And I hope you stay... okay. Happy, even. Yeah." You know, if stars had emotions which Alec was starting to believe that they did. Didn't they twinkle extra bright if you're feeling down to make you feel better?

He shook his head and picked up his star-in-a-jar carefully in his hands. The taking care of it part was done. And so was the naming part. And there was no way that he was going to sing to his star again; no one deserved to hear that. But there was something else he could do to show the star that he really cared for it, right? Yeah.

So that's why he started dancing.

It wasn't the type of dancing where he was going to bop around trying to look cool because if he did that, he had a funny feeling that he'd end up looking weirder than usual. As if he was having a spasm attack or something. So... he sort of just swayed on the spot, humming the tune of Autumn Leaves as he did so. The song was about death and it wasn't as if his star was dying -- he'd probably become wobbly!chinned if that happened -- but... this was sort of the end so...

More humming and swaying.

And it was over. Alec blinked several times before he looked down at the jar. "See, this is the point where... I guess... it's time to say goodbye," he said, frowning a little, "That's a weird word because... there's nothing good about leaving someone. You end up missing them a lot." ... Pause... "But I'll try and visit if... Astro Man allows it. Promise. And maybe it won't be so bad. Maybe... hey! You can make friends with the other stars and have special star ice cream!" Star ice cream... what would that taste like?

"I just mean... erm... wait... I have something for you," The Hufflepuff reached inside of his pocket and drew out a little R pendant which was hanging on a string. "This... is a replica of my most prized possession and... I kind of want you to have this. I hope you like necklaces!" he said as he started tying the string around the neck of the jar, "Take care, little star! And don't let the other stars bully you!" He gave the star a hug and a quick kiss at the top before setting it down on the counter. There.

Alec turned away and walked over towards the closet. He shrugged off his lab coat and hung it up before taking off his goggles and placing that away neatly as well. He picked up his bag and slung it over his shoulder, his feet making way towards the door. The young boy gave the star one last wave before opening the door and leaving the lab.

... Ice cream was a good idea...

Anya slipped on her lab coat and goggles. She had a few minutes between classes and she wanted to check on her baby star. She headed over to her star, Blake. He was still safely beside Jake's Twinkle. Oh good. Right where she left him. She'd be a little worried otherwise.

"Hey there Blake." she said sitting down. He looked pretty... yellow. Wow. This was great. Her star was doing good.

Which means... no spellwork today. Anya was pretty psyched about that.

The little Gryffindor told her star about her day. See. Love. Done.

Now. A song. She smiled a little trying to think of one.

"When you wish upon a star
Makes no difference who you are
Anything your heart desires
Will come to you..." she sang softly to the star.

When the song was over, she smiled before giving her jar a little hug. "See you later. I've got to get back." she said. She then hung up her coat and goggles and left the lab.

A STAR IS BORN.

Blue beamed and held the jar up to eye level, peering in at the little, yellow ball of light. She tapped the glass gently before waving. “Hullo, again. You're all ready now, aren't ye?” BEAMBEAMBEAM. “Except you need a name. I should probably tell you mine. It's Blue. I'm like your mommy.” And yeah...she cuddle the jar. “I want to name you something liiike....Ancient Greece based. So you can be like the stars up in the sky and won't feel left out, just cause you're different. Something pretty... Like Cassiopeia but not cause that's already taken.” >_>

She sat the jar back down on the counter, tapping her wand on her chin. “I GOT IT. Calypsooooo. She was Greek. Plus, you look like a girl.” The brunette jostled the jar slightly, making the star bouncing in it's container. “Mhm. I'll take that as a yes.” Good litte star.

.... “Do stars like to be sung to?” Blue flipped through her notes. “It says I'm supposed to sing to you.” She frowned at the assignment. “What song would you like to hear, hmm?” .... “That's helpful.” She blinked at the star with magnified eyes. “Twinkle, twinkle little star seems cheesy.” Blue scratched her head. “ooooooh what about 'Mary had a Little Lamb?' Bet you haven't heard that one before!” The brunette tossed her hair and started singing, – quietly because she didn't want to make a complete idiot of herself – stroking the lid of jar.

“Mary had a little lamb, little lamb, little lamb.
Mary had a little lamb, whose fleece was white as snoooow.”

That was enough, right? Right. Had to be because she sure as heck wasn't singing any more.

Ella had made a list, a list she'd worked very hard on and she wanted to share the things on her list with her little star. The blonde quietly made her way up to the lab and entered wearing a small smile. She then took the familiar path to the closet and suited up in her lab coat and goggles. When she was ready, the fifteen year old headed over to where Little Treyen was, holding a piece of parchment in her hands.

Bending down so that she was at eye-level with her star, Ella BEAMED at him. "Hello, Little Treyen. I hope you're doing well." And he appeared to be because he was particularly yellow today. Good! That meant he was healthy! Phew. Taking a look around, the blonde noted it wasn't too too crowded and decided she could share what she'd written. She was ready.

"So erm...Little Treyen? I sort of feel like I'm your mom and I um...well I made a list of things I think a mom should stay to her erm... child star so that they know they are lovely and wanted and um...yeah." Shuffle. "My mom um...didn't tell me this sort of thing a lot when she was around and I um...well I figured you might appreciate them if I said them to you because um...well it's stuff I would have liked to hear." And after taking a deep breath and looking around one more time to make sure she had a little privacy, the blonde began to read.

"Little Treyen, I think you're brilliant. Erm you're a really good star and you mean a lot to me. No matter what the other little stars might say, don't ever doubt yourself. You erm...well you're capable of anything and though it might take you longer to do some star stuff, it doesn't mean you'll never do it. Keep trying and don't give up, okay? Also erm, if you ever need anything I'll do my best to be there for you, yeah? You might be small but you're um...you're going to do great things, I just know it." ...And yeah, some of this might not apply to Little Treyen technically but Ella figured it was still nice to hear. "And um...Little Treyen? I love you, okay?" She whispered the last part, her face very close to the jar. She bit her lip a little as she back up, watching the star curiously. It twinkled just a little and that was enough to make the fifteen year old smile.

"Erm so...that was it and um...well I hope you liked that and I'll try my best to visit you again really soon. I think about you lots Litte Treyen, okay?" Ella then picked up the jar and gave her star a hug. "Be nice to the other stars and don't let them push you around, okay?" And with a wink and a little finger wiggle, the badger placed her jar back on the table and headed out.

“Hi little staaaar,” Blue beamed, sliding into a cushioned seat, cradling the jar. “How're you today? I think it's time for us to have a serious conversation.” Nod nod nod. “I'm not you're biological mummy.” She placed the star on the counter top, rolling up the sleeves of her lab coat, ready to get down to business. “I am your mummy though. Your adoptive mummy, in a way. So you're like me.” The Eaglette nodded. “I'm adopted too. But I'm still happy. And my mummy loves me. Just as I love you.” The little star blushed. Actually blushed.

“Oh Calypso. You silly little thing. You didn't know I love you?” She wrapped the jar in a hug. The star continued to glow an even brighter red. Blue frowned. “Are you okay?” Nope nope. It was deffinetly not. Her brow wrinkled and she placed the jar gently on the counter, flipping through her textbook to see what to do.

Her poor star was cold

Blue slid her wand out of it's holster, glancing at the spell on the page again. Throat clearance. She jabbed the air and flicked her wrist upwards. “Dextrini Potitus,” the star's colour almost instantly began to change. Oh she was such a wonderful little Ravenclaw.

Beatrice would be proud.
