Awarlesta finally brought herself to actually do the spell. She fixed up the garbage bag on her mannequin and stepped back. She stared at it for a few seconds and then took a deep breath. "Summitto Vestis!" She pointed her wand at the mannequin.

POOF.

She opened her eyes slowly....AWWWWW YEEEEEAAAHH! A nice pair of pants was nicely fitted on her mannequin. She rewarded herself with a victory dance.

"That's rather heinous," Vivi agreed, reaching out a hand to brush her fingers across the stiff fabric. Merlin... at least it was fabric, compared to the pseudo-plastic she'd managed in the last class. She was going to do an excellent job visualizing this time and NOT end up with anything weird an unwearable.

And definitely nothing taffeta.

She was ready. Vivi turned her attention back to her own mannequin. The Vivi-quin. With her eyes still half-squinting, she drew a careful inverted V and murmured, "Summitto Vestis." Black pants. Black yoga pants. The plastic drew up and around, wrapping completely around the legs and extending downward. The material seemed to gain depth and texture, and when it stopped moving, Vivi stepped forward to feel how she'd done.

Not taffeta, at least. "They're sort of baggy in the seat and long in the legs, but it's a fair first effort." She didn't want Kurumi to develop the mistaken idea that Vivi's effort was perfect. Just nearly so.

"I'm trying shorts,'' Jory replied. He had hoped short would at least be easier than jeans.

"Another try, then?'' he asked, readying his wand. Not realising he had screwed his face up in a comical expression, the Badger pointed his wand at the bag with the mental picture of black shorts bordered with yellow linings at the ready. "Summitto Vestis!'' Incantation followed by the upside down V.

The bag slowly began to turn into a soft material. Then it was shortening, pulling up to the dummy's knees, both of the side moving in synchronization at first until the right one just stopped altogether. The left side however kept going...and going... until it reached about halfway above the dummy's knee.

"No, no, no,'' the Puffer exclaimed. "It's all wrong. Again!''

Hey what WHAT?!? A kilt????

Panicking he scrambled for his wand-- which was already in his hand-- and hurriedly performed the wandstroke and the spell that would reverse that kilt back into a plastic bag. There was no way he was wearing a kilt. Unless every boy in the school did..... naaahhh who's he kidding? There are traditional ways of wearing a kilt-- which is essentially NOT wearing something, and he isnt about to do it that way. He's not even Irish or Scottish to owe it to some kind of heritage thing.

So gone was the accidental skirt of a quilt. This time he made his way around the dummy and tried taping the split apart so it would look like pant legs and not skirt. Stepping back he drew a deep breath and uttered "Summitto Vestis" his wand moving up and then down in the figure of an inverted V. Once again the plastic started to quiver and fluttered but since more edges were taped together it started to shrink around the pant legs.....which was great right?

Well.... maybe.

Heinous? Yeah...that was sort of putting things lightly really. Sighing, Kurumi flicked her wand towards her pants and cast Reverto to turn them back into a trash bag. Kurumi began tapping her wand against her lower lip, eyeballing the mannequin for a moment while she got lost in her thoughts. The shape had been fine, just not the texture.

Wrinkling her nose, she glanced over at Vivi when she had performed the spell and arched an eyebrow at the Ravenclaw. "I'll take baggy and long over stiff and unwearable any day," she snorted softly while returning to drawing random upside down V shapes.

Okay...so she had been over half way there this time AND hadn't melted the material or made it catch on fire...so that was already progress. Focusing this time on a soft fabric. SOFT! "Summitto Vestis." The trash bag curled up for a moment before smoothing out, almost to the point that it was cascading down the mannequin, and Kurumi reached out to touch the material this time. Silk...she had made black silk bottoms...

Awkward?

From the corner of his eye, Daichi saw that something was changing beside him. He turned his head to look and saw Jory with a rather funny expression on his face concentrating on the spell. He watched as the bag from the Hufflepuff's changed in to a soft material and then began to shrink.

The Slytherin chuckled when one the pants legs stopped but the other kept going. "Atleast it changed , mine didn't even do anything" he said with a sigh as he looked bag at his own mannequin. "We are so going to fail our OWLS don't we?" he asked with a painful smile before he grabbed his wand again.

"Okay i'm trying again" he announced and moved the wand in an upside down V shape while saying "Summitto Vestis!" He concentrate with all his might on the jeans he wanted and to his surprise, the bag began to change.

It was slow but the material changed for a brief second before it transfigurated back to an plastic bag. Siiiigh!

Though, he hadn't exploded anything yet so that was a plus right?

Now that she's successfully practiced the spell, Kat was so ready for the real thing. She can FINALLY learn how to make her own bottom-wear with just a flick of her wand pointed at the... rubbish bag. Didn't the inventor think of ANYTHING better? Honestly... Transfiguring something else would be better. Really. Why rubbish bags?!?!?!

Ok, stop overthinking, Hudson, and get back to work.

Gripping her wand tighter, the blonde thought of her ideal bottom-wear. What would be nice? A skirt? Leggings? Jeans? Shorts? Kat thought that she wanted to do leopard print jeans. Yes, it was quite complicated but at least the Slytherin was determined and confident that she could do it. If not in one try, maybe the second right?

Wand at the ready, Kat focused on her 'designed' jeans. "Summitto Vestis!" she said. Her spell had hit her rubbish bag and Kat closed her eyes. She peeked through one eyelid to see her product. "Uhmmm..."

It was leopard print jeans, yes, but it was in black and white. Kat can't say she hated plain colors, but she thought it was boring and her eyes would grow tired of it.

REDO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As the previous try had yielded no rewards Sarah just went again. She held out her wand and did the up down flick. "Summitto Vestis" she said her mind on a simple black a-line skirt. She then saw the bag growning longer and longer. It crept down the thighs, passed the mannequins knees, snaked down the calves and then came to a halt right by the ankles. Great. Sarah went closer to inspect... she felt the material... and to her surprise it was like velvet. She stroked it... no this will not do. She wanted a sporty black skirt of slinky material so she could move around. Yet she did begrudgingly admit that at least the skirt was black and A-line. Next time she would just have to concentrate some more mainly on the material.

Professor Magnus turned to the first year and after a somewhat quizzical look, approved of her style choice. Eliza's eyes popped open wider, bright and shiny at the approval, and then at the teacher's gentle pat on her shoulder. Her mind froze for a moment when her hand came out towards her, but eased when she saw it was only for a pat. She just now realized she hadn't had much physical contact with anyone since she arrived at Hogwarts. She began to miss her mother terribly and wanted nothing more than a big warm hug from her, but it would have to wait.

She smiled and said, "Thank you Professor!" and bounded off towards her mannequin to begin her attempt, probably more like attempts, at making leggings. But now she was faced with an even bigger question. What color would they be?

Heh. She sold that one good. Lex took a minute to give herself a mental pat on the back.

"Oh well hi, I'm Alexa." BEAM. "And I don't think I need help with any of those for now." Noooo, it was just the bloody mannequin that was being difficult. "I was wondering if you could help me get this bag on that thing...as you can see...the last time I tried, it attacked it me." Very true. Quite a terrifying near death experience too.

"But if I need any other kind of help you'll be the first I complain to!" GRIN. If there was one thing she didn't need help with it was complaining...actually it was causing mischief but complaining came close behind. Yup.

Minerva looked at the girl a little confused, did she really think that the mannequin was going to attack her? That was an interesting thing to think. Hmmm.. well shrugging it off Minerva turned to the mannequin and took the bag slipping it with ease onto the mannequin. "There you go Alexa" she smiled. "If you need anything else just let me know."

Minerva went back over to her own Mannequin. She looked at the bag and thought for a bit. What did she want to try and make. Hmmm thinking about it she glanced around and then lifted her wand. Making the upside down v she said clearly "Summitto Vestis!" The bag turned into half a skirt half pants. That was not what she was going for. "Reverto"

Summito Vestis...Summito Vestis... she repeated over and over in her heeaaad. Okay. She thought she ought to give it a try! She was so READY!

AHEM.

She took a trash bag and wrapped it around the mannequin's waist, chuckling a bit at Alexa...the girl was too funny. Sometimes. OKAY. Ready to gooo! She cleared her throat and pointed her wand at the garbage bag...and..

WAIT.

She didn;t even know what she wanted to make yet..hmm...she lowered her wand...okay...what DID she want to make? A skirt for now? That would probably be easier...and before she started, she had a question! And she couldn't remember if anyone had asked it yet or not...she raised her hand..."Professor Magnus...what if you wanted to make a dress? Would the spell be something completely different? Like a combination of both the spells? Since a dress is like a skirt and a blouse put together?" she asked curiously...and would they be doing dresses?! Elliot only really ever wore dresses..but eh, there were guys in the classes..so she guessed not...

"Oh wow thanks!" Lex said with an even wider grin than the one from before, absolutely pleased by the fact that the mannequin was now dressed in a plastic bag without her getting hurt too seriously.

Now she could get started.

Taking a deep breath she turned to the over-sized doll with a scowl. "I don't wanna be your partner just as much as you don't wanna be mine now let's get this over with." She told it. It was important to let the thing know who was boss...you know...so it wouldn't try tackling her again. One near heart attack was good enough thank you very much. Giving the thing a polite nod, she raised her wand at it.

Hmmm...but what to make...?

Her wand hand remained in the air as she thought of the perfect bottom to match her top. Something white would have gone well with it but...it was suppose to be clothes for herself and in her history with clothes she had never had any luck with those of the white variety. For some strange reason they tended to attract dirt and mud more easily than anything else.

Black it was. A black skirt...or shorts...

Skirts weren't very conducive to mischief now were they? Shorts it was! So now it was time to think. What kind of shorts would she make....? Her hand lowered as she thought. Whatever she decided on had to look perfect!

Jory stared hopelessly at the weird thing that was supposed to be shorts. He put on an equally pained expression. "We definitely will,'' the Puff agreed. But honestly, you might just surprise yourself.

He watched patiently as his friend tried the spell. "So close!'' he said as he watched the material changed back into a bag. WHY was Transfiguration hard for these two boys?

"Here I go again,'' Jory said and he changed the incomplete shorts back into a bag. ''Summitto Vestis!" And the upside down V. Once again the material begun to change and this time both sides of it lengthening until they stopped just by the dummy's knees. Finally, a yellowish/ goldish web of fine threads etched a design on both sides of the shorts.

"I think I've got it!'' the badger exclaimed triumphantly.

Board shorts. Hmm.....

He turned his waist to look at the shirt he made from his homework, then back to the dark pair of shorts on the dummy. He did this a few times, even shifting the dummy around so he can eyeball his shirt on the wall and the shorts clinging onto the dummy. On any other design he'd probably be happy with what he got but he can tell its a total mismatch with his shirt. He needed to get started conjuring a pair of pants. Besides he's more of a pants kinda guy anyway.

Again he reversed the spell and the garbage bag reappears on the dummy. Reaching out he tries to adjust the taped up pant leg when he

Ohhhhh no not again!

The Slytherin wanted to throw his wand away and stomp his feet when the spell didn't work again. But he thought better of it and continued to watch how Jory tried the spell for the..what ? fourth? fifth time?

He looked as the Hufflepuffs bag material began to change and the length of the pants were equally even! The Snakes mouth dropped open when he saw the cool yellowish threads as a design and when the Puff exclaimed that he had done it Daichi couldn't help himself.

He clapped enthousiastically while still holding his phoenix wand. But as he clapped , smiling brightly at his friend, the wand produced some red sparks and eventually it shot up to the ceiling.

There was another loud BANG as the red sparks hit the ceiling and a cloud of smoke surrounded his face. Daichi coughed loudly as he waved his hand in front of him. "Jory! Sorry! You okay?" he asked to make sure the other fifth year was okay and not hurt or anything.

When the smoke was cleared a bit, Daichi looked at the dummy and decided to try the spell again. "Summitto Vestis!" he shouted and waved the wand in an upside down V motion. The bag changed in to a jeans material when it turned back again. "MWEEEEH!"

After she walked back to her mannequin, she stood and eyed it for a minute or two, looking to the front of the room to reference her top several times. Okay, navy top...silver and gold... Gold leggings? She stared at the split plastic bag acting as legs for her mannequin. She didn't really understand how that material changed into whatever you wanted, but that was what made magic so amazing. She supposed she wanted thick, super stretchy leggings. That way she could run and climb, or stretch in DaDa lessons if she wanted. Definitely thick enough to not be sheer anywhere, or thread bare, ever - at all. Plus they needed to be warm. Okay...focus.

She took all of these things into her mind, closed her eyes, and held up her wand. She kept running images of fabric and gold colors through her head as she made her upside down V movement and called out confidently, "Summitto Vestis!" She held her eyes closed, as she learned while doing her homework helped a great deal in getting what you really wanted. She kept them tightly shut and kept picturing the leggings until she could no longer hear the crinkling crumpling of the plastic bag. Must be fabric now...time to look! She opened her eyes in an excited hurry. Surely she must be better at this now after all of that homework practice!

They were leggings all right. And they were thick, and gold. But they were so shiny and metallic that there was no way Eliza was ever going to want to wear them. She doubted that weird old music called Disco was ever coming back, so it would serve her and any shred of fashion sense she had best - if she tried again.

Yeah. Focus and intent did play a pretty big part in getting the spell right, didn't it? Sierra had been focusing so much on actually doing the spell that she'd sort of forgotten about what the end result should look like. That'd been what she'd messed up on the first time, too.

She didn't even need to reverse what she'd done before. She hadn't actually done anything. All the bag had done was blow like it was in a breeze. It was just enough of a movement to taunt her and say, 'Hahaha, I'm still here'.

Sierra raised her wand again, but this time she focused on a pair of blue jeans to match her rainbow-striped shirt. She even pictured the length of the blue jeans. They were a good enough length so she wouldn't be wearing a pair of high waters. Nobody wanted that. She got the best mental picture she could, and then---...

"Summitto Vestis!" she said, moving her arm downward, flicking it up, and then down again in an upside down V shape.

Lex gave the girl an appreciative smile when she put the bag on for her. Good. One less thing to worry about. Transfiguring was hard enough without the added danger of rogue mannequins.

Once the girl was gone it was time to get a move on this thing. The class wasn't gonna last forever and she was nowhere with her skirt--no her shorts; this was already decided, wasn't it? So onto the wonderful creation. It couldn't be too long because no one liked being hot in the summer but at the same time it couldn't be so short that it couldn't fit.

She placed a hand to her jaw as she went on deliberating for a moment. Hmmm.

She had it!

Raising her wand hand once more she aimed at the plastic bag. Annnnnd cue wand movement. "Summitto Vestis! She watched the bag shifting and changing but disappointment sunk in when she saw that the only thing to change was the texture...was this even the texture she wanted? Did it even matter? Clothes were clothes as long as you could wear them! BUT it wasn't right sooo...

"Reverto." She would have to try again. A small smile did dance onto her face though when she realized how perfectly she cast the reversing spell. She was improving. BEAM.

"reverto" Sarah said converting the skirt back into a black bag.

This time when she said Summitto Vestis and did the volcano shape with her wand she thoughtr about her A-line black skirt that was going to be slinky.. no cotton.

That change of mind made her yield a skirt that was half cotton and half slinky... uch. Sarah cast 'reverto' again and yet again she was faced with the black bag.

Now when she casted Summitto Vestis she had her mind stubbornly fixed on an A-line, black, long cotton skirt and.... a cotton skirt it was!

It worked!

It took him a few tries to get the wand movement down, but as soon as he felt ready, Theo nodded to himself and positioned him and his wand distance properly. The first few go's hadn't gone to plan, but he just kept thinking back to the first lesson, and it helped a little...

"Summus Vestis!" Yay, something had happened! The rubbish bag transformed into... wait.... what? A T-SHIRT? A t-shirt on the legs of the mannequin? Theo smacked himself across the head, cos he realized that he'd used the wrong spell. It was bound to happen since he was thinking back too much.

B-b-b-b-but he just did not feel comfortable with the reversing spell, so he was just gonna continue from here.

"Summitto Vestis!" He said, using the correct wand movement, and the T-shirt transfigured into a very small pair of trousers. They looked very tight on the poor mannequin. "Sorry, dude." But that was good enough for Theodore! YEp!

Sierra pictured that pretty pair of blue jeans all the way up until the very end. That's what Magnus had said her problem had been with the rainbow-striped shirt. She apparently hadn't focused up until the very end. Sierra pictured every inch of the jeans, right down to the pockets, the zipper, and the buttons. She heard a little poof sound and realized something must have happened.

Opening her eyes, she looked on with surprise as she saw a pair of blue jeans in front of her. She walked around the mannequin taking in every part of what she'd made from that nasty garbage bag. Sure, the jeans weren't just as she imagined them to be, but they were here, and they looked good enough to wear. She actually liked them, come to think about it.

As Isabelle walked around, she glanced from dummy to dummy to see how the kids were getting on. Alexa appeared to be having more trouble with the mannequin than the actual spell, but just as Issy was about to go over and help Minerva got there first. Good, young Hufflepuff that one. Smiling to herself, she moved on and a raised hand suddenly caught her eye.

A dress. Well now. "It is a different spell, yes," Issy replied, grinning at the Slytherin. "One that maybe I will teach you in the future. For now best stick to the one I've given you."

Although right now they were running out of time to do the one they'd been set. Good job most of them had done multiple tries. "We'll soon be finishing guys, so try and get as much practice as possible into the next ten minutes. Then of course, you'll have the homework time."






OOC: Alloted time is actually up, but I'll close the thread tomorrow so you can all finish up what you're doing. Sorry I haven't personally posted much, got caught up unexpectedly and had limited time... >__<

After Belle changed her first black bag into sweatpants. She wanted to get some last practice in before she had to do her homework. Belle went up to the front of the room, got another bag and put it at the bottom of the dummy.

She thought of some pants she wanted. Once she had the clear picture in her mind, she said the spell "Summito Vestis...Summito Vestis...Summito Vestis..." Belle wanted her pants to pop out. She did the wand movement of the upside down V and said "Summito Vestis!" and the bag was crinkling up and changing into pants and changing color!

POP! The pants appeared. She was quite proud of her work. It was quite easy for Belle. She actually want to wear those colorful jeans right now.

Olivia tried again, "Summito Vestis" she said, making sure she ennunciated more clearly this time. She swerved her wand in the upside down V shape, and pictured what she wanted her clothing to look like.

The way the garbage bag clung to the mannequin's legs reminded her of leggings, although she wanted them to be colorfull she couldn't picure exactly what color she wanted them to be.But they turned out alright.
