At least they were leggings though right? she thought. She just couldn't seem to be discouraged in Transfiguration today and that was great in her book. Gold, silver, spotted, whatever. They were leggings and not a blob of yarn like she had gotten on her attempts to make a knitted tunic in the class before. She said the now very familiar spell, "Reverto." The bottoms returned to their original state and she closed her eyes once again to cast the spell. Dark rust colored, thick, stretchy, leggings, NOT shiny. Not shiny, not shiny, not shiny. "Summitto Vestis!" Focusing the same way as she had before, she held onto the picture in her head until she felt the magic was complete. This time when she opened her eyes she didn't gasp in horror, or even cringe in embarrassment. "Ta-da!" she sang aloud. It had only taken her two tries this time. All of that homework practice before really paid off! She had in front of her a nice shade of dark reddish brown leggings that would go great with her tunic. She wasn't even very stressed at the probability that she would have to do it all over again for her homework. Transfiguring clothing seemed to be getting easier for her, so she felt relaxed and decided any homework she'd have would just be for fun. |
Ok so she totally wanted a skirt. It would like wonderful with her silky green shirt that she made. Nothing fancy...not much detail to it. just a nice black skirt that fit her like a glove. She knew that she would have to focus in order to get the required result so she tried to imagine exactly how she wanted it to look like in her mind. Here goes nothing. She had the black shirt imagine in her mind and she pointed her wand at the rubbish bag on the mannequin. "Summitto Vestis." she said while she made a upside down V movement with her wand. She looked at the rubbush bag and was disappointed. It was a skirt all right but she didn't like the shape of it and it looked like it was a faded black...just not right. She was going to have to try it again. |
Sigh. Maybe in a fifth year he'd be able to actually get the hang of a spell within the allotted time of the lesson. But for now... Better just make good use of that practice room, I guess. Right. Visualize. He pictured a pair of jeans. Then he added in the color--black on the left half, yellow on the right half. He'd end up with the colors on the opposite side of where they were on the shirt if he did this correctly. He made sure to correctly envision the size and texture this time. With an upside down flick of his wand, he recited the spell. "Summitto Vestis." The bag morphed into pants. "Yellow pants. Much closer." And they appeared to be pretty close to the right size as well. Maybe it would only take until third year after all! |
Once the bag was back to its original state she raised her wand to try again. "Summitto--" Her spell was stopped mid-cast by the Professor saying they only had ten minutes left. Hearing that made her flash a glare towards the uncooperative thing. She jabbed it with her wand. "Now see, you've made me waste the class with your vicious antics." SCOWL. Even though they had the homework room she was hoping to get this done in class so it would be a lot easier by then. Great. Now she was getting miserable. Her hand sprung up then back down in an upside down V. "Summitto Vestis!" When nothing happened to the bag she couldn't even bother to complain. That time when she cast the spell she was hardly concentrating through her frustration at having wasted so much of the lesson without accomplishing anything. It was time to try calming down. Lex took a deep breath then looked to the plastic bag once more; completely ignoring the mannequin it was on. This was a time for concentration and the mannequin would have been all kinds of distracting. Once she felt settled enough she tried the spell again. This time the bag did turn into somewhat of a shorts...but it came out red. "Seriously...that's not even black..." Why did she have a feeling that this class would end on a bad note? |
Kurumi and Vick at the end Quote:

She turned back to her own black pants and reverted them back to a plastic bag. Her pants weren't perfect, but she wanted to give her hula skirt a try before class ended. Now... the tricky part. What... did those course strands of material feel like? What was their heft and length and how did they drape? Vivi closed her eyes and pictured the skirt, silly as it seemed. Ankle-length with a flowered belt. With a deep sigh, Vivi opened her eyes and pointed her wand at the mannequin to cast the spell once again. "Summitto Vestis," she murmured as she drew the inverted V. Once again, the plastic began to move, this time splitting into dozens and then dozens of dozens of individual strands. The finished result was... hideous, and yet exactly what Vivi had imagined. She laughed a bit hysterically at the skirt and turned to gesture to Kurumi. Look at THIS nightmare. A few mannequins away, she caught sight of Vickers and his own creation. "Beach party in the snow later, Vick?" |

Yeah. Could this just count for her homework, too? |

With the great bang came a huge puff of smoke. The Puff began to cough and his eyes started to water. "I'm alright,'' he managed to gasp as the smoke cleared."What just happened?'' As his eyes cleared up too, Jory turned his attention to Daichi who was still having trouble with the spell. Why didn't the bag just turn into jeans and be done with it? "Concentrate harder. You'll get it.'' |
1 Attachment(s) Cora watched in awe as bottoms of all sorts appeared and disappeared on the mannequins around her. CONCENTRATE. Her wand arm shaking a little, Cora held out her wand, and pointed it at the bag. "Summitto Vestis," she said, making the instructed V. Cora jumped in surprise as the trash bag transformed into a... skirt? It was very odd, and Cora wasn't sure what it counted as. Surprised she had even managed something beyond a sack (despite the fact that it was detailed in a negative way), Cora had new found confidence. "Reverto." She said, turning it back into a black bag. So she tried again, thinking especially hard about the style. Something flowy. Something simple. Hmmm. "Summitto Vestis!" She said a bit more confidently. This time, her bag changed into something MUCH nicer, though not perfect. That'll do, Cora thought, quite pleased. It may not have been the most complicated design, but Cora was proud of it. SPOILER!!: skirt |
Ok. Again, Kat thought. She BETTER get this one right now. The blonde closed her eyes and focused on each detail on her desired jeans perfectly. Once she got her mind set on her desired design, Kat gripped her wand. Determined and ready, the blonde did her best to remain focused on her design then she cast the spell with the upside down V movement. "Summitto Vestis!" Her spell hit the mannequin with the rubbish bag. Closing her eyes, the Slytherin was scared to see what happened to her bag. Fearing her result, she closed her eyes tighter. Looking at it, Hudson. Peeking behind her hands, she saw her result... blurred at first. It looked the same as she expected. The leopard print jeans were there on her mannequin. DID SHE...? LET US CELEBRATE, EVERYONE! |
Sarah looked down at the skirt that she had now, it was nice, yet rather simple. Now it was time to try something a little more complicated... ''reverto' she said, making the skirt back into a black bag... that was rereashing.. it was like faced with a blank piece of paper. 'Summitto Vestis!' She said flinking her wand diagonnally up to the the one side and then diagonally down the other way. Her forehead creased in cconcentration as she thought hard about the colour, shape, size and especially the material. It worked, the black bag began transforming, lengthing and losts its sheen. she went to feel the material of the long slinky skirt that folded over at the top. To make sure it was slinky and not cotton or something. She felt it and when she pulled it did not work... it was like elastic. She teh heard the professor say ten more minutes so she could leave it how it was or try squeeze in the time to do another skirt that was more complicated... In the end she decided to do it one more time before she went. "Summitto Vestis!" she said and flicked her wand thinking of a cream, layered skirt that fell just below the knee and had a circle cut. Yet it did not work out well... it came to a skirt that looked layered but was not layered. So she tried again thinking of a layered skirt that was actually layers and sure enough this time it was right. |
Minerva sighed as the bag went back to it's original state. Closing her eyes she tried to block out the others in the room and tried to figure out a skirt in her head that she wanted to make. Picturing a simple black skirt she opened her eyes and took a deep breath. She was pretty good at transfiguration, this should not be hard. Minerva pulled up her wand doing the downward V "Summitto Vestis" the bag started moving and went into the skirt she was visualizing in her head. A smile crossed her face and she was excited and wanted to try something a bit harder. "Reverto" she said changing the bag back. |
Laura looked around the room, everyone seemed to be doing well, but well she was struggling, she was scared if she asked the Professor for help that she would get shouted at like she did in Herbology so she just sat there thinking about the work she had to do, she was going to make sure it was perfect and everything before she even attempted the spell, she wanted the best possible skirt ever made. |

Unfortunately more time was something they didn't have today. It would have to wait until they did their homework. Clapping her hands, she turned away from Sierra and walked to the front of the room. "Okay everyone, time is up! You've all done well from what I can see. The homework room will be opened later for you to do this part of your assignments," once she'd moved all the mannequins back in there, "but for now please feel free to gather your things and go. Have a good day!" |
Minerva was about to try pants now that she had done the skirt when Professor Magnus said time was up. Oh.. class was over already.. *Frown* She hated when this class ended. Putting her wand away she looked at her mannequin and then grabbed her bag. "Professor do you need any help taking the mannequins to the homework room?" She figured she could offer to help if needed. |
Eliza packed up her things in a hurry. She had lots of homework to do and people to see! She was about to just take off when she reminded herself not to be rude and to push her mannequin back to the front of the class where they had rolled them out from earlier. There, she thought That should help with clean up a bit. She waved at the professor and said, "Thank you for the lesson Professor Magnus!" She was feeling really confident in this subject now and was a lot less irritated by their long homework project than she was before. As she walked towards the door, she stopped by Cora and her mannequin. She had made a brown layered skirt with a bow on it. "How cute!" she said smiling to her friend. "That's really nice, Cora." It suited her - layered, shortish, and cute - all topped off with a nice little bow. She grimaced mentally at the memory of those hideous shiny leggings she had made and hoped no one around had thought those were a good representation of her. |
Just as she was about to try again she heard the Professor say the last thing she wanted to her. ... Now she would have to finish up with this thing in the homework room. As if class wasn't enough time with the creepy looking thing. With a heavy sigh she gathered her things but before she left she turned to the Professor. "Professor..." She started hesitantly. "Can I have a...a word with you after class?" That crazed mannquinn needed to be stopped before it tried eating anyone else. |
with a little nod to Vickers too Quote:
"Think I am going to need to transfigure a few more pants and simple skirts before I attempt what I think i want to do for my design," she laughed, sticking her tongue out somewhat playfully at Vivi. And then Vivi had a hula skirt in front of her, but her attention was drawn to Vickers' when the blonde mentioned beach party. Swim trunks? "Hey, looks like you two are going to the same place," she laughed. You know, hula skirt and Hawaiian print shorts. It made sense. Reverting her silk pants back to their trash bag form and was about to give things another go when... Quote:
She would have to save her next attempt for homework. Definitely going to start with getting the fabric right first before trying to make her skirt. Packing her things up, Kurumi slung her bag over her shoulder. "Have a good day, professor," Kurumi said as she began to make her way towards the door. |

Class was dismissed. Kat didn't want to leave yet. She just successfully transfigured that rubbish bag and now she can't properly rejoice since they had to leave. This left Kat kind of saddened. Why, Transfiguration, why?! But, well... they didn't seem to have a choice now. The girl slinged her bag on her shoulder after packing up. She slipped it wand inside her wand holster. Preparing to leave, she looked back at her mannequin with her perfect (in her opinion) jeans. Ohhhhhh... "Thanks for the lesson, Professor," Kat said and smiled. "Have a good day." |
Quote:
"Bye, Professor,'' the Puff said on his way out. "Great lesson." |
"Thanks professer, I'll never have to go clothes shoping again". A wizard really could sit in one place all day and do nouthing but wave their wand. Oh right the mannequins! She had nearly forgot to put it away, and had left it standing there where everyone else's were already back in place! Oh how embarassing. She pushed the plastic human over to the side of the room. "Need any more help wheeling these into the homework room"? |
SPOILER!!: Vivi and Kurumi See the more he tried to tug and pull on that tear, the wider it seems to get. Worse, some of the magic was starting to fade and slowly spread from the tear-- the plastic-y nature was seeping to the rest of the cotton-y fabric of the boardshorts. He turned, glancing at Vivi and Kurumi. Beach party in the snow? "Hey why not. Russians built a tradition around that" he grinned. "Just keep the sand away and I'll be fine..." he mumbled, turning his attention back to that boardshorts... Quote:
Might as well, as his boardshorts have torn and about half of it was fading back into the original garbage bag. He sighed inwardly and decided to just collect his things and proceed to his next class. He badly needs to practice obviously, since being able to successfully conjure pants is far more important than a shirt specially when he needs to cover up. "Thanks for the lesson Professor Magnus!" he said as he nodded his head at the Transfigurations Maven and filed behind other students making their way out of the classroom. |
It was time to go already? She was always happy to be done with a lesson, but she was not happy that she had not been able to master this spell. She knew that she would be able to practice because they would have homework but she still couldn't help but to feel like a failure. Grumble. She glared at the rubbish bag on the mannequin like it was its fault that things were not working out for her. She gathered her things and said a quick goodbye to the professor. "Thanks for the lesson professor." and she headed out of the door! |
"i don't know what happened.". Daichi answered Jory's question when the smoke got cleared away and he looked at his wand. He was about to try the spell again when the Professor announced that class was over. Already? But....he hadn't even gotten the spell right! "yeah, later" he waved towards his hufflepuff friend and watched him leave the room. With a small sigh, Daichi too cleaned up his stuff and hoisted his bag over his shoulder. " bye Professor, i'm sorry about the ceiling but i just can't do the spell" he was used to the minor explosions and smoke but he still felt like apologizing since he did not know how to get the black stain from the ceiling. "but thanks for the lesson anyway~ byyyeee!" and he made his way to the door. |

You can post leaving them in the sixth floor corridor thread. ;) Quote:

"Well, that's very kind of both of you. I haven't unlocked the room yet, but if you could just wheel some out and leave them along the wall by the door, that would be lovely. Thank you." Quote:
