As you enter for the last time this term, you notice that the classroom is once again bigger than usual. There is a very good reason for this - there is a massively long runway going down the middle of it, separating the desks into two rows down either side. At the back of the runway are two screens, one each side. Lined up are the mannequins, fully dressed in the outfits you've all made, and still with your names on them. You'll need them later. On each desk waiting for you are two small paper plates.
Professor Magnus' desk is nowhere to be found. She is, however, sat on the edge of the runway waiting for you all to take a seat.
OOC: Class doesn't begin until tomorrow (about 15 hours from now), but I'm opening so you can all enter. Chat among yourselves - but not too much, eh?
Belle was kind of nervous. She did not want to model in front of the class. She was not too keen on that option. But she could have fun with it and deal with it. She would have to present in the real world soon enough.
Then the professor asked what they would do with the paper plates. Hmm well they already made t-shirts and pants. So shoes would be logical right? "Professor i agree with the others, will all of us be making shoes?" she asked. Belle loved shoes though.

Oh, not SHOES. The only way to make shoes that were seventh-year-level spell worthy was fussy buckles and buttons, numerous straps, or something with heels. Vivi wasn't going to enjoy wearing any of those.
Perhaps they could just model their outfits barefoot. If she'd known this was going to turn into... a runway thing, she would have designed an outfit that more suited her current personality, rather than the witch she thought she'd be after she left Hogwarts.
"It's probably shoes, professor, but I would love to be wrong. I'd like to make a jacket or... a hat. Something more challenging."

Lex's eyes kept flickering to the mannequins while the Professor spoke. In her mind they would start moving any second now and there would be some kind of huge mannequin takeover that wouldn't go well.
Her attention turned fully to the Professor when she mentioned that they'd have to go modelling. UUUGGGGHHH. If no one else groaned she knew she did. Why'd they have to go and do something so girly? She didn't want to go up there and do that!!! Don't get her wrong. She'd do just about anything infront of people from a lack of concern but modelling was taking things a bit too far. Her hand shot up. "Professor...does everyone have to model their outfit?"Please say no! Please say no! She'd die if she had to go up there and do what those model people did. Yup. Like legit, she totally would.
"And I guess everyone's right. We're making shoes, yes?" This was much better than the other stuff she had to make because this didn't involve that bloody mannequin!

Oh, she didn't want to model? That was kind of disappointing, but... "No, you don't have to if you don't want to. But those of you that don't will have to push your mannequin down the runway to show it off." Or was that just a mean idea? Alexa didn't like hers after all...
"Anyway, I don't expect any of you to model perfectly, Miss Cambridge. It's really going to be just a bit of fun at the end of the lesson."

He raised his hand and took a shot at asking the question. "Hats maybe? Or shoes?" he asked. "Some sort of accessory is my guess."

Paper plates, though? Sierra nodded in her brother's direction then raised her hand. "I agree. I think we're making shoes," she said. Which didn't make her feel any better about wearing two garbage bags. At least they didn't typically put garbage on a paper plate, though...

"Shoes! Precisely. I figured that was an easy question." Isabelle walked to the back of the runway and picked up a couple of paper plates she'd left there for her demonstration. Going back to the front she placed them down on the floor and stayed crouched. "So yes, you'll all be finishing off with a pair of shoes. I can see some of you don't appear to be enamoured with that," Issy glanced over at Vivi and Kurumi, the later seeming to have some kind of rash showing.

"We did hats last term, Miss Branxton. Perhaps one of your classmates would fill you in on that if you want to learn it. Right now though, it's shoes I'm afraid." Isabelle smiled at the girl, before flicking her wand out again and resting her free hand across her knees. "Now, basically, this spell will turn anything made of card or paper into a pair of shoes or boots - depending on how you imagine it to go. It's very simple as regards wand movement, just a tap on the target object. And as you are making a pair of shoes, you need to tap once on each plate, like so." She showed them what she meant without actually doing the spell yet, just so they got it.
Looking up, she nodded to make sure they understood before launching into the actual spell itself. "You only have one word to worry about this time, 'Pedestis'. So if I wanted another pair of shoes like the ones I have on, I'd go like so..." Issy aimed her wand at the plates and very gently tapped each one while saying the incantation at the same time. "Pedestis!" Slowly the plates began to narrow and gain in height, changing colour to the black she was wearing, before separating into a different colour for the soles. "Simple really. And as I said, design is based solely on what your mind can create for you. Don't limit yourself to something easy if you don't want to. Zips and buckles will always be harder, as with the clothes, due to their metalic content. Now, are there any questions before we start? If you don't have any, and feel confident enough, give the wand movement and incantation a go, then start on the plates."
OOC: I'll answer any questions tomorrow. Those of you with none can start a bit of practice. ^__^

Lex breathed a sigh of relief when the woman said she wouldn't have to mod--

Seriously?! There was No WAY she was going to go near that thing just so she could push it down a runway! NOPE. Nuh-uh. It might have tried something funny. Mmmmm. "On second thought I think I'll model." Anything would be more 'fun' than getting eaten.

Wow. So now she'd have to model. SIGH. Lex slumped down in her seat, not very pleased with the ultimatum she'd just been given. She was so upset in fact that she almost didn't hear a word the Professor was saying. When she realized this she tried to calm down a bit; the spell was important and she had to learn it.
No mannequin? One word? She was feeling better already!
Looking over at the plates she couldn't help but smile a bit. These things would never try to do her in. Reaching into her bag she took out her quill and ink then drew a smiley face one each of them. "There." replacing both in her bag she took her wand off the desk she'd rest it on then turned to the plates again.
First she would work on the spell command...
"Pedestis...Pe...des...tis" This didn't take very long to get used to. "Pedestis! Ped..es...tis..." Not long at all.

Sounded simple enough-the one word incantation. Jory decided to practice first without his wand.
"Pedestis...Pedestis...Pedestis...,'' he repeated. "Pedestis...Pedestis.'' Yup, simple. Problem was could he concentrate better than the previous times when hey practiced the tops and bottoms?

"Hey!" Kurumi snapped, looking at her hand that Milton had just swatted. She was itchy! And nervous, but ITCHY! Whatever, she was just going to go ignore his presence and go sit in her usual seat...
Her seat. Her usual seat. It was moving away from her instead of towards her. Why was it doing that?!
And then she realized that it was because someone was pulling on her robes. Someone that she hoped was either Lewis or Selina or Vivi...but no such luck. Nope. Instead she found the fake Ravenclaw was dragging her off somewhere else and saying crazy things like 'we' and 'my friend'. "You're doing this on purpose..." Kurumi frowned as her feet reluctantly followed his lead towards the desks. Desks by the runway. Desks that were not going to be used as torture devices.

Runway...so they WERE going to be walking the runway. Did she have to? Could she just...you know...not? "Professor, can we use Piertotum Locomotor instead of modeling ourselves?" At least older students since it was rather advanced magic. It really WAS a win-win situation. Two transfiguration spells in one lesson and all...
And then the paper plates came into discussion and Kurumi really couldn't see what else they could be besides...

Leaning over and AWAY from Milton, Kurumi wiggled her fingers at Vivi to get her attention. "I can show you the hat spell sometime." Like now was fine...because it would mean that it would be something that could take her away from the Quidditch captain she was sitting next to.
So...shoes. They really were going to be transfiguring shoes and she just needed to suck it up and get it done - along with stopping all the scratching of her arms. She wasn't going to be able to perform any spells properly if she kept scratching, which was really the only incentive she had to cease said scratching. Easier said than done though, especially with Milton flashing her knowing smirks and all that.
Wand out, Kurumi watched and slowly mimicked Professor Magnus' movement. Just a tap? At least the wand movement wasn't painfully drawn out and long. Tap each plate and say the incantation. Simple enough. "Pedestis....Pedestis....Pedestis....."

What do you think we're transfiguring today, Hudson? Obviously something they haven't transfigured. Or something to complete their outfit that needed a little touch. Shoes...
Didn't they need shoes? "Maybe footwear, Professor," Kat answered. "Or shoes." Really, footwear was a better term anyway. Heels can't be shoes. Or.... maybe they can. Yep, Katrina Hudson has just confused herself.

Pedestis. Why was this incantation shorter and easier than the previous ones? Summus Vestis and Summitto Vestis? Two words. REALLY. And this one just had to be a whole lot easier than them. Well, just be thankful instead. No questions so far, time for practice.
Kat took out her wands for her holster. The blonde then tried to imitate what her Professor did, except she wasn't going to make it real. Just practice. Okay, fine you get the point. Plus the movement was as simple as a tap. And the movement was just a tap. Cool. Now, practice the incantation first. "Pedestis... Pedestis... Pe-des-tis... Pedestis..." Good enough?

Milton listened carefully, determined to do everything right. He wanted nice, but casual shoes that matched his outfit he made previously so he didn't look like a mismatched hobo strutting down the catwalk. Milton Shacklebolt was better than that.
After watching Magnus to the incantation and transfigure her plates into shoes, Milton said the words under his breath a few times to get it right. He just had to make sure to be very specific about what he wanted his shoes to look like.

Yes, Milton heard Kurumi trying to get out of modeling on the runway. "Awww, don't be shy now, Darl-Dear---Kurumi." Sheesh. Girls were so picky. Since when did nicknames really hurt anyone?
Getting his wand out, Milton cleared his throat a little and concentrated on what kind of shoes he wanted. He thought of the size, the color, the style... kind of. Eh, whatever. "Pedestis," he muttered, tapping each paper plate with his wand. Slowly, they began to transform... into two log-shaped figures with small holes that Milton's feet definitely wouldn't fit in. "Huh. That didn't work." Obviously.

"Thank you, Professor," Vivi kind of wanted to slide underneath her desk and hide for bringing up a spell that everyone must know other than her. She'd learn it, though... someone would know... Kurumi wiggled fingers in her direction, and Vivi gave the girl a relieved smile. Not that this outfit needed a hat, but she hated not knowing something.
"Thanks, Kurumi. Whenever you have a moment." Because she didn't want to take the girl away from her own mannequin, of course. She'd want to tweak her own outfit before modeling it.
Her own attention went to those paper plates. What could she make first? Something sort of simple, but that would stretch her abilities. Galloshes, maybe... without buckles or zippers, but the height and material would be a challenge for now. Vivi practiced the incantation quietly under her breath until the words seemed as familiar as the other incantations they'd learned this term.
Once she knew the incantation, Vivi closed her eyes to picture exactly what she hoped to Transfigure... the size and shape and color and thickness/texture of the material... all of it. Now... time to try casting. Vivi pointed her wand to the first plate and murmured, "Pedestis."

Kurumi continued to mutter the incantation to herself a few times, idly tapping her paper plates every now and then to try and find some sort of rhythm. That tended to be her problem with transfiguration. Her spells were not smooth and the initial attempts were spotty and too rigid. After a few more tries, Kurumi felt as though she were ready to give the spell a proper go.
Until Milton spoke again.
At least he didn't mention anything about shoes, but he did get a slight eyebrow raise for his attempt at giving her a nickname or something. Still, Kurumi did move her desk just a liiiiiiiiiiiittle to the right, away from Milton and closer to Vivi and realized that she was in a Ravenclaw sandwich.
She did glance out of the corner of her eye at his attempt, straightening up her posture a bit before rolling up her sleeves and giving it a go herself. Something simple. Sandals. Nothing fancy. Just plain white sandals.
Tapping her plates, Kurumi said the incantation and then waited to see if she had somehow managed to melt things again this time. Only that didn't happen! The plates shrunk and morphed until they both turned into very VERY simple white sandals. Small smile on her face, Kurumi turned towards Vivi. "I think I might be willing to face that runway if I wore something like these," she laughed at her pretend fashionista friend. "Oh, sure. Anytime really. After class maybe?"

"Anyway, I don't expect any of you to model perfectly, Miss Cambridge. It's really going to be just a bit of fun at the end of the lesson."
SPOILER!!: SHOEEEEESSS
"Shoes!
So they are getting on the catwalk!
Vickers shifted uneasily in his seat. He was hoping the Professor would teach them a spell that would make the dummies move on their own, something like Piertotum Locomotor. Dragging or pushing a dummy down the catwalk sounds more appealing to him personally, but it also looks the most awkward.
Before he could ponder this uncomfortable issue any further Magnus started with their next spell-- something that will have them transfigure the paper plates into shoes. Well that sounds simple enough right? Hopefully? Maybe?
He turned his attention to the paper plates and mimicked the Professor's movement. He did this a few times before silently mouthing out the spell Pe-des-tis..... Pedestis

They were making.. shoes?? Thea looked down at her feet for a moment, and then up at the professor.. She hoped she didn't have to get up on that runway! She would match Gryffindor colors if she did that!
She was pretty sure red wasn't a good color for a face!
She shook her brown head and looked down at the paper plates..
Pedestis huh?
Okay.. She gout out her wand and started muttering to herself.. "Pedestis.." She looked down at her plates, she could use some really comfy boots right now.. "Pedestis.."

Climbing up the steps onto the runway, Issy looked down on them from her prominent position. "You're probably wondering what this is for," she would be. "I thought that seeing as you've all done so well with your outfits thus far, and I have checked to see how well they hold together," with a bit of pulling and tugging, that kind of thing, "that at the end of the lesson you could all model them for the rest of your classmates."
She waited to see how audible the groan would be before moving on. "But first, you need to complete those outfits. Which leads us to those paper plates, and the easiest question you will probably be asked all day. What do you think we're transfiguring today?"
They were going to what? At first Hannah did not like this idea at all. She wasn't big on going in front of the class and doing anything. On the other hand she was fabulous and her clothes looked amazing and she knew that everybody would be dying to see her handy work so maybe it wasn't going to be that bad after all. She would feel confident in her outfit. She listened as the professor asked what they thought they would be doing today. "I too think we will be transfiguring shoes." It did explain why they had two paper plates and all.

So they were going to be transfiguring shoes. It sounded cool and fun, but it also sounded like it would be difficult. She had enough problems trying to get her shirt and skirt perfect. She had a feeling that getting the shoes perfect was going to take even more work. She was glad that this was the last thing that she was doing. She actually felt pretty accomplished this term.
She paod attention to all of the instructions that the professor gave them. The wand movement was just a tap so that was easy enough. She tapped her wand a few times anyways for good measure. She put her wand down and gave the incantation a try. Pedestis. "Ped-es-tis." Pause. "Pedestis, Pedestis, Pedestis." It seemed simple enough, but Hannah knew better than to think like that. Time and time again Transfiguration proved to not be simple.
Looking up, she nodded to make sure they understood before launching into the actual spell itself. "You only have one word to worry about this time, 'Pedestis'. Belle heard what the professor said. She copied down the spell in her notes.
SPOILER!!: Belle's notes
Pedestis- spell to use to make shoes.
When Belle copied it down. She wanted to practice saying the incantation and wand movement. Belle said.."Ped-es-tis....Pred-es-tis...Pedestis...Pedestis!" Belle was getting the hang of it. Then Belle heard the professor saying it is a simple tap. That should be easy to get the hang of it.
She waited to see how audible the groan would be before moving on. "But first, you need to complete those outfits. Which leads us to those paper plates, and the easiest question you will probably be asked all day. What do you think we're transfiguring today?"
Modeling? Sarah had never modeled before and she did not like the idea of being a human mannequin. Yet she shrugged, one has to do what one has to do
Sarah thought that as there were two of them it was probably a pair. Like socks, shoes, earings, bangles... shoes would work better as it would be wierd to have socks without shoes!

Okay, shoes seemed like they were going to be way harder. Pants and shirts were sort of loose and flowing. But shoes... they had to be molded exactly to your feet. Finding a comfortable pair of shoes was.. Well, it was practically impossible usually. But actually, he thought, this may be better. If I work at it hard enough, I can make something that is custom-made for my foot, so it will fit perfectly to my arches. Hmm. Maybe this wouldn't be so bad after all?
Right. Pedestis. Pao scribbled the incantation and wand movement into his notes. Then he grabbed his wand from inside his pocket and set out to practice the wand movement. This time it wasn't complicated like the other two, so he didn't need to spend long on it. Tap, tap. Tap, tap. Tap, tap. "Yeah, the incantation is definitely the harder part of this spell. Ped-es-tis. Ped-es-tis. Pedestis. Pedestis." At least it wouldn't be difficult to remember for exams. The word 'ped' sounded like the Italian word for foot, which was 'piede.'
Pao quickly set to work on actually applying the spell. With two purposeful taps, he said, "Pedestis," and waited for the morphing to begin. But it never did. "Oh, duh!" he said, smacking his forehead. He'd forgotten to visualize! He shot a sideways glance to see if his Captain had noticed his failure. Satisfied that she hadn't, he instead closed his eyes to visualize. Maybe gray... with yellow polka dots? He'd tried the polka dots on the pants and vetoed the idea, but maybe just a small amount on the shoes would work.
This time he was ready. "Pedestis," he articulated, giving the paper plates one tap each. Within five seconds, he had an exact replica on the desk of what was in his mind. "Sweet!" He was getting good at this!
But then he tried them on.
There was NO way those things were getting on his feet. Um, guess I didn't think on a big enough scale. The first year visualized once more, but this time imagined a much larger version. "Pedestis." After two taps, he watched as the plates turned into shoes.
"Bravissimo!" They were definitely much larger. Except.. "That is the ugliest puke yellow color I've ever seen." Time for another try.
He changed the color in his mental picture. Then, voicing the incantation, he moved his wand in two tapping motions. Once more he watched the white paper plates turn dark and bulk up. He could feel it: this was going to be the time he got it right.
Pao tried on the pair of shoes. Hmm. Reasonably comfy.. He wiggled his toes. Enough room so my toes aren't squished. He pressed his thumb down onto the toe of the shoe. There's still some extra length there for when I grow. And best of all, the gray with yellow polka dots didn't look too shabby! I can't believe it, but I think I got the shoes done on the third try! A wide grin broke across his face. He had definitely progressed this year. His family would be proud.

She ignored Kurumi for the moment, not out of rudeness but because she was pretty sure that if she attempted to multi-task, Vivi would end up with shoes that didn't fit or that were not remotely shoe-shaped. Neither of those options was acceptable to her.
She put her wand first to one plate and then the other, speaking the incantation "Pedestis" as she did so. The plates rolled up on themselves and began to shift and change outward to make objects much more suited to feet than mere plates. When they were finished, the galoshes weren't as tall as she would have liked, nor as thick, but they were black and rubber and just about the right size for her feet.
"You certainly won't fall because of those shoes," Vivi finally turned to Kurumi and eyed the flip-flips. They weren't nearly as dressy as what Kurumi had made, but the girl was obviously very concerned about falling. "You won't fall. Be brave about your shoe selection... at least for the chance to practice complicated magic." Ravenclaw has spoken.
Yeah I broke that mirror, so what? ll NOT backward ll Official Gryfferin ll Lemon's favourite
There wasn't really any reason to practice the wand movement for this one seeing as all she had to do was tap the thing meaning she could go on with the pronounciation for a bit longer. After another five minutes though her mouth started getting tired of the same word. This meant it was time to practise the spell itself!
She cleared her throat.
"Right then."
First she would need to think of a design. It wouldn't be anything all highly glammed up because those kinds of shoes were hard to run around and cause mischief in. While she thought of the perfect shoes she idly tapped one of the plates and muttered, "Pedestis." just to see if it would work. Looking down at then end product she nodded contemplatively. It wasn't anything like what she wanted BUT it did give her an idea.
"Reverto."
Okay. Now she could try for real.

Right. Now to transfigure the plates into a pair of footwear. Jory decided a pair of simple, white sneakers would do well with the outfit he had created before.
He held out his wand and tapped on each plate confidently. "Pedestis!'' he said. To his delight, the plates began to stretch and take the form of the white sneakers he had in his head. The last thing to form on both were their laces. "Perfect!'' he though.
Alright since Belle got the hang of saying the name of the incantation and doing the wand movement, Belle decided to go into action. Belle had to imagine what kind of shoes she wanted to transfigure. Belle thought of basketball shoes with style. She thought those would be cool.
"Alright Belle you can do this." she told herself. "It is all about concentration and confidence." Belle took a deep breath and went onto the paper plates. Belle knew the picture in her mind. "Pedestis?" Belle said to second guess herself. Yup that was right.
Belle said, "Pedestis!" and tapped the paper plates. Both of them. They were turning into a basketball shoes! Belle was excited! She did it! She actually liked the shoes, but they weren't her size. Maybe she would work on that.

"Pedestis." Slowly, but surely, the plates began to transfigure back into the shoe shape, turned black, added some shine until they finally looked like this. Milton grinned. "Not bad."
Kurumi picked up one of the white sandals and slipped off one of her shoes so she could test the size of it. Wiggling her toes a little to test out their durability, Kurumi was somewhat satisfied with them and was about to show them off to Vivi again when the Ravenclaw spoke. "I was just starting out with something simple," she explained as she slipped the sandal off and set it back on the table with the other. Wand out, Kurumi cast Reverto and returned the sandals back to being two paper plates. "Being brave doesn't mean I have to transfigure heals, does it?"
Yes, we were somewhat looking for approval from you on this Vivi.
"I was thinking black shoes anyway." Be brave...that meant heels. Kurumi could sense it. Tapping her wand against her bottom lip, Kurumi tried to think of an image of a pair of black shoes that were not just flat boots. Kurumi wore boots. She likes boots. Fancy shoes were sort of out of her element. Tapping the plates, Kurumi cast Pedestis again and made a pair of simple black sandals this time - mostly just to prove to herself that she could do color - and then reverted them back to plates just as Milton spoke.
"Of course you don't, that would be barbaric," she responded with a small smirk.
Attention back to her plates, Kurumi tapped them both again. "Pedestis." This time the plates began to blow up like a balloon and morph into a taller shape than they had with the sandals until there was eventually a pair of black heels on the table. Wrinkling her nose and scratching her arms like mad now, Kurumi sort of sunk into her seat. Brave enough?
But, then her thoughts wandered to fake Ravenclaw and, just to be safe, she figured she might as well ask Vivi. She didn't fancy Milton gnawing on her arm. She had already had Elijah gnaw on her this term, she wasn't looking to have someone else do it. Kurumi turned to Vivi and nodded her head in Milton's direction. "Milton says he doesn't bite, it is true?" she asked rather point blank.
Wait...why would Vivi know this? Was it a Quidditch thing?

When he finally got comfortable with the spell and the wandstroke (which of course was simple enough), he focused on one of the paper plates and tapped the surface gently "Pedestis..." The plate spun its its place and he paused, watching to see what kind of shoe it would turn into...
..........
.....
..
.... Just his luck. It didnt turn into a shoe. Instead the Ravenclaw found himself staring at half a pair of white socks.
Yeah thats what crazy is, when its broken you say theres nothing to fix++++++++++++++++++++ +++++++And you pray that everything will be okay, while you're making all the same mistakes
Captain? Was that someone refering to her? The voice did sound oddly familiar.
The red head turned a little to see that her amazing keeper had taken a seat beside her. "Hey, Pao." She gave him a smile and then nodded at him. Yep. It seemed like a fashion show was exactly what was install for today. "Seems like it." Before she could say much more on the matter, the Professor began to speak and so Ness turned her attention towards the lesson.
So these paper plates were to transfigure one last thing? Shoes that was. Well of course you needed those to complete an outfi, unless you wanted to walk barefoot. The red head nodded, and then when the Professor finished her instructions, she looked at Pao for a moment. He was already working on his spell. Good then, if he could have done it then surely so could she.
Pedestis! Sounded a bit like a anti-pest spray or something to that effect. Not too hard to remember though. "Pedestis! Pedestis!" she repeated it over and over again, wanting to make sure she would say the right thing later on.
As for the wand movement it looked pretty simple.
Right now all she needed to do was picture a shoe sort in her mind and then she'd be ready.
