"Well, I won't be teaching it before term is out I'm afraid. But, you know, maybe we'll both have some time over the summer, eh? You can use magic outside school now." And she'd be around. Probably entertaining her daughter in Diagon Alley. ------------------------- Oh. That... that wasn't quite what she'd meant. Isabelle tried not to look too amused when the Gryffindor transfigured herself a pair of photo frame shoes. "I didn't actually mean literally with the photo frames, but... it's nice to see you remember that spell, Miss Hollingberry." Quote:
A vein throbbed in Isabelle's temple as she looked at the girl. "Just take it slowly, Laura. Ped-es-tis. Break it down and try again." "Okay guys, as we're nearly at the end of the lesson, it's come to the fun part!" Isabelle had moved back to the runway and climbed up again. She liked being up there, felt taller and more important. But anyway. Rubbing her hands together she grinned at the kids. "If you don't want to actually put your outfits on, you're more than welcome to just wheel your mannequins down here," she gestured to the runway with a flourish. "I want to run this like an actual muggle fashion show - but less serious. So you can go behind those screen over there, one at a time, change and strut your stuff. I would like you all to explain why you designed your outfit the way you did as well. Like a full running commentary as you go. The shoes are optional, as you've yet to do your finished homework for this lesson." Stepping to the side, Isabelle held out an arm and pointed a finger in the direction of the screens. "Who wants to go first?" she said in a happily loud voice. OOC: You can spread this out over a couple of posts if you want, I don't mind. Just make sure we have no more than one person changing/on the runway at once - so make believe it's your turn etc... And I assume you all know how fashion shows work, OOC. If your character doesn't, that will make it even more fun. Which is what I want you to have. FUN. Have at it, people. Lesson closes in a day or so. |
Minerva listened as the Magnus talked about a fashion show.. Well that sounded like a ton of fun. She shot her hand up quickly to go. She got up and retrieved her outfit. Then went behind the screen to change into her skirt, the shirt, and finally the shoes that she felt were a cute accident. Once she was completely changed she pushed her hands through her hair, she was going in front of the class. Smiling, it only was appropriate that she had transfigured hair as well. Which she always had it transfigured, but for this it was nice that she had it change. Leaving the screen she headed out on the stage and walked trying her best to act like a model, she actually felt more like the fashion show on What a girl wants, the an actual model, but this was fun. Once she got to the end of the stage she stopped and turned a few times like she had seen on TV. Laughing at herself and posing goofy at times she turned and headed back to the screen. Hoping that she did alright she went and changed back to her robes, then headed to her seat to watch the rest of the class. That was really fun! |
Quote:
She couldn't agree more with the girl's next statement. "Yeah, modelling's all gross and girly...it's even worse that I have to do it in front of everyone." Ask her to paint her face and act like a maniac; ask her to do a dramatic death scene; merlin, ask her to pretend to be a circus animal but modelling? Seriously? There wasn't even a way out of it either. It was either the take to the run way or have the mannequin finally get a bite out of her. CRINGE. ---------- Lex turned her full attention to the Professor again when she got on the runaway and started talking. So this was it, huh? The part she'd been dreading? And she found the catch to this whole thing too. Yup. The Professor was sending them back there to change before they modelled and that's when the mannequins would jump to life and have a good meal. Hah. Good one. She was soooo not going first. Someone else had to survive this whole ordeal before she even got up there. She sat back in her seat and watched as others took their turn. She nodded each time one of them got down seemingly unharmed. In all this she still hadn't figured out how she would pull this off. After watching another person get down she figured she would get it over with...they all lived, didn't they? Right. Hopping onto the runway she made her way around back, bolting passed the hoard of mannequins as she did. There was just one problem with this....she still needed to get her outfit off that thing. Inching over to it slowly, she stretched her hand forward and gingerly got the clothes off. She sighed in relief once she'd gotten everything she needed and no longer needed to even look at the thing. It took her only a little while to get dressed, however she spent the majority of the time fighting with the shirt and ended up stumbling onto the visible part of the runway, with her hair all over and her eyes wide. Uhhhhh.... |
Ness Text Cut: Magnus So it was that time. That time he'd been dreading. That time he'd been dreading for the entire lesson. That time he'd been dreading for the entire lesson that had been distracting him. That time he'd been dreading for the entire lesson that had been distracting him and preventing him from doing good magic. That time.... Okay, suck it up, Mancini. But wait, did she just say they didn't have to model their clothes themselves? HE. WAS. SAVED. He was SO much less likely to have a clumsy moment and fall now! Although, the mannequins were on wheels. There was still potential... But he was still saved! He hurried to dress his mannequin. First step, shoes. Second step, pants. Oh, no, the pants aren't going to fit on over the shoes. Third step, shoes off. Fourth step, pants on. Fifth step, shoes back on. Sixth step, shirt. Pao stepped back to admire the effect. Now if only it had a hat to go with... He did a quick check on Ness to see if she was ready to go. "You still want to go together?" he asked. In hindsight, he probably should've asked this BEFORE he dressed the mannequin. What if she wanted to model herself? |
Text Cut: Vivi Okay, he was done now. He didn't know just how far Vivi was pushable, so he would stop. Heh. He was very amused with himself, though, and it showed on his face. Milton tore his eyes away from Vivi as she shook her head and hummed to himself, messing with the shoe laces on his new shoes. Heheh. Text Cut: Kurumi Aw, darn. That wasn't the reaction Milton was hoping for. He wanted to scare her. Milton eyed her for a moment before sticking his tongue out at her. Just briefly. Because he was only KIND of immature. Quote:
Okay now he was good. Clearing his throat loudly, Milton stepped out from behind the screen and stepped up onto the runway. "Milton Shacklebolt," he said loudly and clearly for everyone to hear. "Sixth year. Ravenclaw Quidditch Captain." Just saying. Milton swaaaaggered up the runway with confidence oozing from his aura. As he walked, Milton began to explain why he created this outfit. "I like to keep things simple, but still attractive. Which isn't hard for me." Smirk. "Therefoooooore," he continued, drawing the word out as he turned back around to go back down the runway, "I created a simple plaid shirt, fitted to show off my fabulous quidditch muscles. And a simple pair of jeans, slightly narrowing down towards the ankle to create more shape so I don't look like a shapeless lump of clothing." Man, he should totally be a fashion designer. Milton stopped at the end of the runway to model his shoes off. "And these shoes because they're... cool." Yeah, that's all he really had to say about those. He had a very similar pair in his trunk, too. With another wink in Vivi's direction, Milton stepped down from the runway and strutted back to his seat. There. That wasn't so hard, was it? |
catching up, will do modeling laters Paper shoes? Really? Not even the papier-mâché kind? Oh incredible spellwork there Vanderbilt... Disgruntled once again with his own performance Vickers reverted the flimsy, crumpled mess that was the paper shoe, glaring at the wrinkled surface of the once pristine paper plate. He has to get this thing right. actually come up with a shoe that can be used Once again and with fierce concentration he tapped his wand against the paper plate's surface and uttered "Pedestis!". Again plate spun in its places and started to twist and bubble up, and this time it actually started to form with a quality of an honest to goodness shoe.... which looked more like sneakers but hey thats progress right? SPOILER!!: profy demo-ing shoe fitting And now the Professor demonstrates how to come up with a shoe that actually fits. Yes he remembered the frames project they did not too long ago. Pulled the other plate and set it on the ground, then stepped on the plate with his be-socked foot. Repeating the spell he tapped the plate with his wand-- this time the plate didnt spin, instead it started to wrap itself all around his foot until it looked somewhat identical to the other half he made earlier. Which he realized was now rather small.... Aaaand now it was time to get on that runway. Vickers gulped and shrank in his seat-- he still hasnt decided if he would just wheel that dummy or wear the outfit himself. He looked at the others take to the catwalk, watching Milton strut his stuff with a confidence he wished he had. Guh he made it look so easy. |

Paaooo! <3333333 More giggles and then even more. The fact that Pao still had an eleven year's old mind made some of the things he said really adorable yet amusing too. "Noo. Nooo! You don't loose your ability as easy as that. Most of the time once you gain a skill it stays with you." Nessie knew this from when she took a few years break from dancing, but it was also her common sense. "The only way you could loose a skill, is if you're either not physically able to do it or you might forget, but that isn't likely. You'll be fine after the summer." As for during the summer? Well not being able to use magic was not so fun, but she didn't feel it was a good idea to say that aloud to Pao. Omg! See here his cuteness started again! "You are too cute!" was all she could utter before the Professor spoke again. So modelling time it was..or wait what? They didn't have to model? Even better! The modeling did look a little fun though, but in this case Nessie felt it was better to be safe than sorry. As Pao began to dress his mannequin, Ness did the same with hers. She first put the top on, then the skirt she had made and lastly her new shoes. Now she was ready. "Yeah sure." she gave him a nod. "You wanna go first then?" she asked. |
heh *snort* & just changing into our outfit withahorriblemanip Quote:
Over the summer? Wait...was she really offering to... Kurumi's eyes lit up at this notion. Kurumi would be in London, most likely, and Diagon Alley wouldn't be too far away - especially if Treyen helped her find a place near his to live. "I can," she nodded, the realization of that somewhat hitting her more right now than it had before. She was 17...soon to be 18... Time was moving way too fast. And then there was mention of her photo frame!shoes, causing the Gryffindor to blush. "Um, I just got a little too caught up in memories," she mumbled, tugging on her hair a little. At least she had transfigured some boots now? Quote:
Could her and Vivi walk together? They had designed their outfits with the same goal in mind after all. So it was like they were a set. Just Kurumi was the girlish look while Vivi was more elegant. So, there Kurumi stood, arms crossed over her chest while she waited to take her turn walking the runway. |
Woh, now way. I do not want to model my oufit in front of everyone. Oichi watched as her classmates got up and went backstage and soon the modeling began. There were so many cool oufit designs which only made Oichi more nervous to show hers. Seeing the room start to thin out Oichi knew she had to head back stage if she wanted credit for this crazy class. There she waited nervously with her oufit in line for the changing room. |
Catch up! getting changed. Sarah decided to try make glass slippers. "reverto" she said turning her hot pink ballerina slippers back to the original plate. "Pedestic" she said tapping the two plates. The slippers began to form... Sarah looked down to see what they looked like, they were not the see-through she wanted them to sb, nor were they white - no they were a light blue, the kind of bue one uses to draw glass."Reverto" she said making it back into plates. Now she did 'Pedestis' once more and made them back into a pair of Mary Jane's - black ones. She was going to do Red Dorothy style shoes yet decided against it. She did not want it to clash. Quote:
When it was her turn she went behind the screen and began to undress her mannequin. Once she had all the articles of clothing available she began to dress. Although no one could see her, she decided to change in the most covered way possible. For example she put her red skirt under her school skirt first, before taking off her school skirt. She then used her robes as a tent to cover herself as she put the blouse on and bottoned it all the way up. Emerging from her 'tent' she put on her waistcoat and slipped on her shoes. Yes Sarah was ready |
plus before Professor Magnus announced the runway thing Though Kat was happy about her boots, she needed something that would look BAM! on her outfit. The boots were really gorgeous but... it didn't match with her Slytherin-y outfit. And she needed something to WOW out those Snakes. She needed to show how happy she was of Slytherin. Despite the loses, Slytherin will always be her home. No matter what. Maybe that was a target of her outfit. Maybe to show some House pride. "Reverto," she said and the boots turned back into plates. Well, ok. Kat immediately casted the spell on the plates. "Pedestis!" Soon the plates started growing, enclosing her feet. Then... it turned into green high cut shoes. It looked fab on her outfit, if she had to compare and contrast it. Text Cut: Professor Magnus GAH. Runway. Though it was a really muggle thing, Kat hated the runway. What if she tripped, or something? Plus she hated flaunting her style. It made her seem like those desperate girls who want to be pretty. Personally, Kat says every girl is pretty except her. She was more of an outcast in the world of fashion and beauty. But, look now, she had no choice but to feel stupid by walking down the runway. After changing, Kat went out wearing her outfit. Gosh, she looked like a prep girl. And her fashion sense was disgusting. Patiently, Kat waited. No she did not want to even go on that platform. NOT AT ALL. But she had no choice but to do so. Maybe take this as an experience or a valuable memory. It will never disappear anyway, despite what she does. And her outfit... A round of coughs for you, Snakes. |
Ness and Kurumi Text Cut: Ness She started to alleviate some of his fears. "You don't? Oh good." This had really been bothering him. It was the generations of Ravenclaw heritage in him. "Okay, so maybe I should practice the wand movements and incantations I learned, but like.. just holding a stick or something. Cuz then I'll still physically be able to do it AND I won't forget!" Yes, this sounded like a PLAN. Good. She wanted to use her mannequin as well. He really wasn't up for modeling himself, not now that they had another option. "Erm.. I guess. You don't think she'll let us go at the same time?" Because that was far less terrible-sounding. He glanced up toward the professor, and that's when he saw... Text Cut: Pao's firstie crush/Kurumi Kurumi. His eyes popped out of their sockets. Well, they WOULD have if that was possible. His jaw opened slightly and a vacant expression crossed his face. MANCINI! Stop that! He snapped himself out of it, closing his mouth in the process. But boy did she look pretty! You can't blame a dude! he thought. He quickly turned back to Ness. "Yes, I'll go first! I'll get right up there now!" Pao quickly rolled his mannequin up to the runway. He was only a few feet from Kurumi now. She'd get to see his outfit up close. |
Laura got changed into her outfit and then smiled, so she had to do a catwalk in front of people, well this was just the best lesson ever." Laura was so going to enjoy this, it would be awesome, she would wait her turn though. |
modelling time... Well the time has come for him to finally make a decision-- have that dummy move to model his work or be the dummy to model his work.... He climbed the steps up the wider platform the runway was connected to, ducking behind the screen and stares at the dummy that currently wears the clothes. He was considering about modelling them himself when his peripheral vision caught the sight of that long white platform of which some students are already walking on-- and how everybody else was LOOKING at them. ............ ........ .... .. *gulp* There was a sudden fear that gripped him, so intense that he may have stopped breathing for a moment. Of the times he's spent at Hogwarts and managed to brave public speaking and group leadership they always had an aspect of distraction-- people were instructed to do something or the panel of Witches and Wizards were more concerned with the content of his words and work than him standing in front of them. Modelling one's homework down a runway was COMPLETELY different-- there was a certain pressure of aesthetic appreciation-- or lack thereof-- that comes with modelling... and all that STARING from all those people judging all the exterior elements of himself was probably something he could never muster enough courage for, not even for a minute. Yes he is chickening out.... He positioned the dummy at the edge of the screen to ready its trip down the runway. With a flick of his wand he cast a moving charm on the mannequin and slowly wheeled it down the catwalk, making sure to stand off to the side when he starts his commentary so that people will look at the dummy and the clothes it wears and NOT at him. "Uhm... this is my work..." he began "... the shirt was created as a tribute to my house-- Ravenclaw-- using the image of our house crest and our colors of blue and bronze as a general theme." he explained as the dummy neared the end of the runway "The pants are of the same shade and material as the shirt, although carrying the general colors of blue only and minus the Eagle details, to compliment the shirt better and not cause the entire ensemble to be 'too busy'...." or that it people might take it for some kind of elaborate pajama. He had the dummy u-turn at the edge of the runway and slowly made its way back towards him "Shoes that would ideally go with this are black or dark loafers or leather shoes like boots." At least thats what he was hoping to come up with when he was transfiguring shoes earlier, which of course he hasnt yet pulled off. And now he was done. He grabbed the dummy and pulled it after himself, ducking behind the screen quickly, relieved that he was finally done with this. SPOILER!!: the shirt and pants HW |
When Hannah had opened her eyes finally she saw that she had finally done it. Her shoes were perfect. They were just the right size, closed toe, and all black. She had to admit that this term had been hard for her. She had really struggled with making her clothes, but right now she was actually feeling pretty proud of herself. She had come a long way from last year... that was for sure. Then she heard the professor say that the class was coming to a close and they had to move on. Now they had to model their outfits. Honestly Hannah did not like getting up in front of the class to do anything, but she thought that everybody would want to see her amazing work... so why should she deny them that? She had worked hard and some appreciation was needed. |
At the moment she was having that dear caught in the head lights feeling. Now that she was out here...what exactly was she supposed to do? Quite nervously she tugged on the end of her shirt. Blink. Blink. It wasn't that she was worried about her outfit because honestly she loved it, even if no one else did. It was hers and she'd nearly been eaten trying to make it. The problem came with this whole modelling bit. Lex had been to enough fashion shows to know that this wouldn't go well for her. For starters she didn't know how to mimic that funny walk they did and as for striking poses....Not. Gonna. Happen. She took a deep breath then one step forward before shooting them all an awkward smile. A hand went up in the vain attempt to fix her hair but she quickly abandoned that once her attention fixed on the students who were watching her. "Uh...hi..." Awkward wave. She took another step. "I...uh...so I made this shirt--yeah, I did." her hands clutched it instantly and she gave it a little tug. "And I um...I did it 'cause I like blue...?" That really was the only reason. Did she need to say more? Hopefully not because she just continued walking down, each step just as awkward as the last. It was obvious she didn't know what she was doing, wasn't it? She didn't know how to do this whole modelling girliness rubbish. After another two steps she felt a sharp tug. Looking down she grimaced. "Gimme a sec, my shoe's lace is untied." Then she plopped herself down in the middle of the runway and began humming a little tune while she got it retied. It actually helped her forget about the task at hand. Good. Doo dee doo dee doo.... Over...then under... Dee doo dee doo.... |

There ya go, Cap. Take that to the bank. Quote:
Almost as stressed as Kurumi, who looked like she was going to start chewing her own hair in about a second. Vivi slid from her seat, grabbing the outfit from her own dummy as she passed. If Kurumi was waiting for moral support, then Vivi was willing to give it. That's what friends did, right? "Wait for me," she whispered to the girl as she passed behind the screen, and then Vivi changed as quickly as possible... which was difficult with the amount of horror she felt at bare shoulders and wearing a skirt in public. "This is terrifying," she grabbed hold of Kurumi's hand as she exited the changing area, although she had to drop it a moment later. "Oh. Shoes!" She needed something practical and a little dressy and completely flat to wear with her skirt and ruffly-thing-top. Two paper plates were retrieved from nearby, and Vivi cast them on the floor and stepped onto them. "Pedestis," she whispered, and the plates wrapped around her feet and grew up her calves to make a pair of black slouchy boots. Now... ready? |
Err...no, thanks. Sierra was so not putting on her garbage bag and paper plate outfit and parading it down some make believe runway like a weird-o. Nope. She had far more respect for herself than that. She'd just keep the clothes on the mannequin and parade it down the runway instead. Or, better yet, she'd just transfigure some wheels on the bottom of the mannequin and shove it onto the runway to fend for itself. Heh. She was just getting her mannequin good and ready when it hit her--nobody else was using the mannequins, were they? She looked around the room and sighed. Oh, dear Merlin, she was going to have to model, wasn't she? She mumbled something under her breath, grabbed her transfigured clothes, then headed off to changing area. |
*rearranges* Quote:
She should have done some research in runway walks or something. Then again, Kurumi hadn't anticipated that they would be doing THIS today. Shoe transfiguration, yes. Modeling. No. Quote:
It could SMELL fear. Quote:
Both sounded good, right? Oh hey! They both were wearing black boots too. See, it was SO a sign that they should do this runway walk presentation together. "Together? We are going to the same event after all and, well, I've seen people walk that thing in pairs before..." |
Text Cut: Love that last line, Pix He gulped. She was talking to him! But... being a bit confusing in the process. Did she mean him or Pao Junior? "Me? Oh, thanks.." He was just wearing his school robes after all. "Or did you mean the mannequin with its snazzy new outfit?" Probably that one. There was no reason why she'd randomly tell him HE was handsome. He wheeled his mannequin up behind her as the line continued to advance. It was almost his turn... |
Quote:
She started out on the runway and was extremely thankful she didn't choose heels. Vivi'd just look for friendly faces as she walked... little baby lion Lex and Milton making faces. She didn't look at Vickers because she was afraid he wasn't looking back. Better not to know. Vivi squeezed Kurumi's arm. "We... erm... made our outfits for the same event, which was to celebrate graduating from Hogwarts. We specifically chose articles that were hard to design and transfigure... like the layers in Kurumi's skirt or the ruffles in my shirt. We also wanted to be mindful of the weather and the event, which is why we're sort of summery and..." Anything you want to add, Kurumi-friend? |
Quote:
Quote:
Kurumi quickly accepted Vivi's arm and followed the blonde as they made their way down the runway. She somehow managed to make her arm that wasn't linked with Vivi's hang loosely by her side and after a few wooden steps her legs followed so that she was walking somewhat normally. The desire to just sprint down to the end of the runway was sort of overwhelming though. She did a few awkward poses and some half twirls while Vivi spoke...and then she stopped. Oh, um...this meant that she should say something too, right? ".....aaaaand we both embody different styles that can be worn to this sort of event. My outfit is more girlish while Vivi's is more elegant." And...that was it? They were done? Maybe another few twirls and poses and then they get off the runway? |
Quote:
Good, because Vivi was done with being stared at. She nearly dragged Kurumi back down the runway so they could change and take their seats in the audience again. "Erm... thank you and good night." The end. |
Jory began walking down the runway after the previous student had left it. He felt very comfortable in the clothing he had created, the race car and track Tee shirt, blue jeans and simple white sneakers. The Puff tried to walk like those muscular and cool male models. But he hoped he didn't over do it, he'd surely look stupid. He paused awkwardly. "Er, my outfit is something a person who enjoys car races,'' he said, motioning to the shirt. "It's light and comfortable for a hot day at the rack.'' Okay, he was done. Still trying to keep his cool and wanting to get off the runway as quickly as possible, Jory turned and headed back. He didn't like being in the spotlight. |
