Dylan practiced a bit! Pedestis..Pedestis..Pedestis..Pedestis.. He said over and over in his head! and some more Pedestis.. Pedestis.. Dylan then looked at his two plates and wondered what kind of shoes he wanted.. well the ones to go with his lion costume were already with the costume but perhaps something of his house? like gryffindor shoes or something? ok so thats what he would try... he put the image of what he wanted in his head and then pointed at one of the plates but before that he looked around to see if anyone was trying to change the shoes and saw that they were.. ok image back in mind and change "Pedestis" he said then quickly pointing at the other plate he then waited to see what would happen as they changed Once they did he got a frown on his face THAT was NOT what he had wanted!! he had ended up with these big shoes he had no idea what they were he had never seen them before in his life!! He was not wearing those! Besides they looked like they could fit a troll.. or maybe they were even too big for a troll.. maybe.. a giant!! Yeah!! they were big enough to fit giant!! wouldnt it be cool to meet a giant or a troll.. mm... ohh! back to these boring shoes he thought to himself. "Reverto" he said pointing at the large shoes and watched them change back. Good thing he had been practicing with his dad on these 'basic' spells as he called them. |
Laura wasn't sure if she would like this or not but she was going to try. "Pedistec" Laura wasn't sure how to say the incantation. "President?" Laura knew that didn't sound right. "Primester?" Laura was really confused now, she really wanted to know how to say Pedestis. "Professor how do you say the incantation?" |
After practicing the incantation and mastering it, Kat took out her wand. This won't be much of a problem after all. It was quite easy, the movement and the incantation. Perhaps Kat would master this very well soon. With practice of course, she doesn't expect herself to be perfect in everything. Maybe high standards, yes. But let's get to the point now... Kat thought she was ready now. Grabbing a paper plate, Kat thought first of what kind of shoes she'd want. Maybe heels? But she'll reserve that for later. This was her first attempt though... so what about black flats? Yeah, totally black flats. Kat liked those types of shoes and she is currently in love with the different types. Shoe-a-holic. "Pedestis," Kat said while simultaneously tapping the paper plate AND thinking of the black flats she wanted. She saw the paper plate go narrower and grew a bit in height. And the color turned to black. Oooohh. It turned out well. Kat's black flats were obviously a success. Maybe she should do heels next, or something more complex? She loves challenge. |

Isabelle raised an eyebrow at the Gryffindor prefect. "Do you know how to do that, Kurumi? It's just that, I'd really rather you all concentrated on the one spell for this lesson. Perfect that. Besides, the mannequins are on wheels." So you know, wheel them down the runway and all that. Quote:

Socks?.... Seriously?? The Ravenclaw's lips wrinkled to the side. Obviously he gotten so used to the magic that made clothes despite blabbering out the new spell his focus was still on the lessons from the previous classes. With a silent huff he reverted the sock into back into a paper plate, then tapped his wand unconsciously a against his fist. He has to FOCUS on getting those shoes done... He traded the paper plate for the other, thinking that maybe he would have better luck with the other plate even if they look completely identical. With another decided tap on the plate Vickers uttered the spell "Pedestis!...." The paper plate spun in place again but this time it started to bend and bubble and morph into something that resembled a large potato, then finally settling down into what looks like a white shoe. With a wide grin Vickers looked at his new creation for a second before reaching out and grabbing it.... --- and the shoe promptly crumpling in his grasp. :whaa: |
Now that she felt like she had the wand movement and incantation down it was time to give it a go. Only what did she want her shoes to look like exactly? She knew that she wanted them to be black so it would match her outfit just right. To have heels or not to have heels... that was the question. She thought that ladies looked nicer with heels, but she wasn't sure if she would be able to accomplish the whole heel thing considering how much trouble she had with her shirt and skirt. Hannah was up for the challenge though. She thought about what she wanted the shoes to look like. She wanted them all black with a two inch heel and better make them closed toe. Yup. That would look nice. She concentrated on the shoes as she stared at the plates. "Pedestis." she said while she followed it with a tap of her wand. The plates jumped a little but other than that she had absolutely no results! |
She should've known they'd be making shoes for their outfits at one point. It was lucky that the spell seemed to know that the shoes needed to mirror each other with their curvatures. One for left and one for right. She thought if they just used a duplicating charm, which she didn't know yet anyway, they would literally end up with two left or two right feet. She giggled to herself about that idea, seeing students trying to fit their feet into the wrong shoes. She decided she might as well give it a go, since she didn't think anyone really knew how the spells knew what to do. She thought back to her outfit thus far. Hmmm, long navy tunic....rust colored leggings... But what should she make for her shoes? Boots. Yes, I think boots are in order. Just little shin high ones. Brown, definitely. She tried to picture some boots in her mind's eye as she tapped each paper plate and said that incantation. "Pedestis!" The plates wobbled and warped into sagging brown boots. The material was thin and they were lacking texture and definition everywhere, like a drawing yet to be completed. Well, that was no good. She changed them back to plates with a simple "Reverto." Maybe I should get a more specific idea in my head this time. |
Professor-ish too Quote:
O___O Lex jumped back when the plate suddenly burst into exploded and ended up knocking right into a girl close by. She whirled around from the mini explosion to see who she might have bumped into just now and sighed a little when she realized it was only another first year. "Sorry about that. I didn't mess up your work, did I?" Lex herself hated when people ruined her work...even if it was just an accident. Accidents didn't make things any less annoying, ever. She turned to the front of the room again, cringing a bit when she caught sight of her mannequin. The headless thing was staring at her. Like, really it was. Lex quickly averted her gaze. "Professor, can I have another plate please?" That one was done for. Yup. |
As Belle made successfully Basketball shoes, she wanted to do a challenge. Belle did not know what to do. Hmm did she want to something fancy? I think she did. Belle focused on what kind of shoes she wanted. She did really like those high heels she wore to her friends christmas party. Belle pictured those and decided to do those. She said "Reverto!" and reversed the spell. But uh oh...the paper plates were missing. Belle went to the front of the classroom and got two more paper plates. She was glad the professor had extra. She took a deep breath and decided to do it. Belle concentrated and said with confidence..."Pedestis!" she said and tapped her two plates. They were forming into flats? Belle smiled and thought this could do. They were even her size this time. She might wanna wear them. "Professor can we keep the shoes that we made?" Belle asked. |
Minerva listened to the students answer what they might be doing. Most of the students like herself thought they would be making shoes. Yes, that sounded like the best answer to her. When Professor Magnus said they would be making shoes Minerva smiled. That sounded fun and what a great spell to know. Then Minerva paid attention as Magnus showed them the spell and the wand movement. So the movement was pretty easy, just as her hair it was just a tap on the plates. She felt she could do that pretty well. Now for the spell.. Saying it in her head a few times she wanted to make sure it was correct, "Pedestis!". Once she said it in her head she started trying it out loud. "Pedestis!" "Pedestis!" Now that she felt she had that down she tried to figure out what she wanted to try, probably something simple at first. |
Text Cut: MeredithRodneyMckay Okay, so shoes it was. Sierra felt a little bit better about paper plate shoes than she did about garbage bag shirts and pants. Sierra turned her attention to the professor as she detailed the spell. Hmm. Boots? Sierra thought a pair of boots might go well with the shirt and jeans she'd transfigured for the first two homework assignments. She wasn't all into fashion like most of her peers were, but she did like to look nice. As always, Sierra decided to practice the spell before actually launching into a real version of it. She flicked out her wand and held it out before her. She starting tapping it toward the left, as it she was making one shoe, and then to the right, as if she was making the other shoe. She did this several times before she thought she had an actual feel for the movement. Then she tried the incantation. "Pedestis!" she said. "Pedestis!" |

"He's never bitten me, but I'm a very small sample population. I couldn't possibly tell you if Milton has never bitten anyone. But I doubt he'll bite you. I believe his mouth is occupied with other things. Like talking too much." She made a face at him before smiling at Kurumi, and then Vivi resumed shoving on the boots. Too big, but only just a bit, and they were just begging for a puddle. She hoped they'd last in something like that... paper in water seemed like a bad experiment. She tugged the boots off again and cast a Reverto, reverting her lovely new boots back to basic paper plates. "I like the black sandals... I wasn't trying to imply you needed to wear fancy heels. Maybe some low-heeled boots would work with the outfit you've designed." |
Simple shoe for now, and then a more difficult shoe for later. The red head pictured a simple plain black ballerina pump and was then ready to perform her spell. She put her full focus on the image in her head and uttered the incantation. "Pedestis" she said and maybe a little too harshly tapped the paper plates. The magic still took it's course, and Nessie watched with a pout on her face as the plates turned into two black shoes, or more like two baby black shoes. They were way too small, probably wouldn't even fit one of the firsties near by. Well then best she retried the spell. "Reverto." She watched as the paper plates returned back to normal and closed her eyes trying to focus once more. This wasn't so hard, she could do this! "Pedestis!" she repeated once more and lightly tapped the two paper plates again. This time her results were simple yet perfect. Maybe to to try a little more difficult pair of shoes now? |

Now the spell, Sarah wrote Pedestis down in her notebook. Now she was going to try the incantation. "Pe-desk-is" she attempted. Wrong. "PPPPPedestis" she tried again, yet her mouth got caught on the P. She decided to try again -this time thinking slowly and trying to pronounce each sylabble. "Pedestis" Great, that was awesome. Now she would say it three times "Pedestis,Pedestis,Pedestis |
So it was shows that they were transfiguring. It made sense, she had her awesome hipster oufit and shoes were the last piece of the puzzle, but what kind. Oichi though for a moment and though with the tye dye shirt and faded blue jeans rainbow sneakers would be perfect. She grabbed a plate and took out her wand, "Pedestias", Oichi said with a wave of her wand and the plate began to expand and into and slowly change form into black goop that had a the tiniest resembance to shoes. I definately did something wrong "Reverto", Oichi said with a wave of her wand the goop shoes formed back into the plate. That was a close one, atleast I managed to revert it back into a plate. Oichi chuckled lightly as she mentally prepared herself to to try again. |
...and that was enough practice on the incantation and the wand movement. It was really fairly simple, to be honest. a simple tap on a paper plate couldn't be too hard. Sierra was set on having those boots the professor mentioned, and she wouldn't settle for anything less. It would take some time, though, because none of this transfiguring ever came the first time for Sierra. Sierra retrieved a set of paper plates and placed them on the floor in front of her. She stared at them for a while in order to get a good mental picture of what she wanted them to look like. The boots were a tan color and stretched up toward her knees. Only, they didn't quite reach her knees. They just came close. There was fur lining the insides of them and buttons on the side. Yes, these were the boots she needed. |

Well, that had bitten the dust. "Yes. Yes, of course. There's some down the end there, help yourself, Alexa," Issy smiled. Quote:
Clapping her hands to get their attention, Issy climbed back onto the runway so they could all see her. Taking her own shoes off she placed a couple of plates on the floor and stood on them, before looking up to make sure all eyes were on her. "Now, this spell creates the shoes, or boots, from the sole up. Which means, if you want them to fit your feet perfectly, you can stand on the plates and do the spell so that they encase your feet and stand more chance of being the right size. Like so..." Isabelle repeated the incantation, tapping the plates as she'd shown them before. Just like the first time the plates started to change colour and shape, growing around her feet into a pair of shoes similar to the ones she had taken off moments before. Once finished, she looked up and grinned. "Those of you that remember when we made the photo frames a little while ago, well the principal is very much the same as that." A few of them would know what she meant. "So if you feel confident enough, why not give it a go?" |
Quote:
"Ow!" she muttered. She looked around to see who had bumped into her. It was the little lion first year that she'd seen around. Alexa? She steadied herself and brushed bits of torn paper plate off of her robes. "Oh, that's okay." She looked at her own plates. "Nah, they're okay. I was just trying to give it another go. My first ones were tragic!" She laughed. "What are yours going to be?" she asked once the girl had gotten new plates to work with. Eliza turned back to her own and thought about the boots she wanted again. Shin high...brown leather...laces...structured...thick sole, good for walking... She placed one foot on each plate like the professor had shown. "Pedestis!" she cast again at each plate, tapping them. The leather started reaching up her ankles, going higher as the laces sprouted and criss-crossed up. She must have had her feet too close together when she said the incantation because the leather started to meld together into one weird boot. She wobbled on her one leg, flailing to keep her balance. She started giggling. Oh, someone just has to see this before I change these back! She looked back over to Alexa, "Hey Alexa, look!" She hoped the Gryffindor would think the boot was as funny as she did. |
Yes she was definitely going to have to give it another go considering she had managed to get her plates to do absolutely nothing the first time around. Although maybe if she did stand in the plates it would help her. It couldn't hurt, that was for sure. She went and stood on the plates. Merlin, she felt stupid but she would do what she had to, to get the job done. She tried once again to concentrate on how she wanted her shoes to look. "Pedestis! she said while she tapped the plate. She watched as the plates formed on her feet. At least this time she had actually managed to do something but it wasn't what she wanted at all. She took a deep breath in and put the plates back to normal once more. |
SPOILER!!: Professor Magnus Down the end there? Lex looked passed the the Professor to where she might have been referring to as down there. Surely she didn't mean where those vicious, man-eating mannequins were. Noooo, she couldn't possibly have been sending her down there just to get some plates. This was the part where she gave the Professor the benefit of the doubt. The woman wasn't evil afterall. Luckily she saw two idle ones sitting closer to the front of the walk way. Did she care whether they belonged to anyone or not? Nope. Better they face those creatures than her. "Thanks Professor." Now she could get back to work. SPOILER!!: Eliza Good. So she hadn't ruined the girl's hard work...or...er...not hard work if she said it was tragic. She gave a little chuckle inspite of herself. "It can't be any more tragic than mine--they blew up." GRIN. Sure it wasn't a good thing that her work had gone up in flames but now that she thought about it it was pretty neat. It just meant she could blow stuff up and that idea appealed to her more than anyone would ever know. Seeing things go boom was like epic in her book. Yup. "Mine are gonna be a pair of blue converse if I can. Anything else would be too annoying to run through Diagon Alley with." And walking through Diagon Alley wasn't an option either. Not even a consideration. When the girl got back to work she figured she'd do the same--but not before giggling a little at the Professor. The woman had obviously been telling a joke and the right thing to do was giggle once it was executed. Now you see, just now she blew up her plates. Why on earth would she put her feet on more plates and try her luck again??? See? Funny joke. Good one professor. Ahem. Placing both on her table again she tried the spell once more. "Pedestis!" Tap. She watched the plate moving and narrowing but scowled when it turned into nothing more than a floppy looking shoe that sagged about. Mm. She was about to scowl when the girl's voice caught her attention. Lex turned to her with slightly widened eyes. As far as she was concerned the two had never spoken before so how'd she know her name...she wouldn't question it. Instead she focused on the shoes...shoe? shoes? Meh. "Cooool! how'd you get it to do that??" She sooo had to teach her. |

Eliza laughed at the mention of Alexa's exploding plates. "True. But at least yours were exciting!" She listened to the girl talk about her intended shoes. "Converse are always pretty good action shoes," she said with a smile. She kept wobbling on one foot, or two feet in one boot rather, and grinned when Alexa saw them. Good, she doesn't think I'm a weirdo for showing her. I thought she'd like them! She held her arms out for balance as she explained what happened. "Well, I don't know if this always happens, but I think my feet were really close together when I said the spell. Maybe my plates were touching?" She wasn't really sure herself. "Or maybe it was just a funny accident!" She looked down at her big boot and cast "Reverto!" She nearly lost her balance once both of her feet were freed and stood upon plain plates again. She looked back up at Alex and said, "I'm Eliza by the way." She held out her hand to shake with. "I kind of um, well I've heard your name here and there around school. Nothing bad really!" That sounded so sketchy, Eliza... "I just heard...is it true you got expelled or detention or something?" Maybe she shouldn't ask about other peoples' business, but she was nothing if not curious. |
TOTES did way too much in my first post *facepalm* Text Cut: Ness So she thought they'd be having a fashion show, too? Rats. "Er... you think Magnus will make us model? I'm a bit, er... clumsy. But just on the ground, don't worry!" He really didn't want her to think he was incapable of playing Quidditch anymore. After all, he seemed to be perfectly fine in the air, definitely able to balance. Text Cut: Magnus Okay, he already had some pretty nifty shoes. But... couldn't he do another pair? You know, for the colder days. Although, when he first started this project, he was making a spirit outfit to wear at Quidditch matches. Now, he was on the team and had to wear his uniform robes. So actually, he wasn't going to use this outfit. Shoot! That's disappointing. But he could still try some harder shoes. Actually, if he was honest with himself, Pao was beginning to wonder if he'd just gotten lucky with the whole 'only taking three tries' thing. In fact, he was almost sure of it. He put the shoes back on and wiggled his toes. Nope! Still good! Let's just take a quick stroll around.. RiiiIIIIIIIIIIIIiiiip! The shoes burst apart at the seams. Pouty lip sticking out, he whined, "Shucks! I knew it was too good to be true!" Back to the ole drawing board! Or imagining board, rather. He found an extra pair of paper plates and brought them over to his spot next to Renesmee. With a furtive look to check if other students were doing the same thing, he placed the plates on the floor. He was pretty sure this was about to get awkward, seeing as how he'd have to bend down and practically touch his toes to do the wand movement. Stepping on to the dinnerware, the Hufflepuff pictured the same thing in his mind as last time, but perhaps somehow more well-put-together. Whatever THAT looks like in my mind's eye. He cleared his throat and prepared to cast the spell. |
*Dies* XD SPOILER!!: Eliza That's right, it was exciting and of course converse were good action shoes. Lex liked this girl, she made sense; Alexa sense and that was the hardest kind of sense to make. Kinda dangerous too if you didn't know what you were doing. Oooooohhh. Okay. She took it back. This girl made no sense at all and she no longer wanted to learn. This Eliza girl was one of the people who actually took the Professor's joke seriously and tried the spell with her feet on the plates. SIGH. Then people called her a risk taker. She would never understand. "Well aren't you the brave one." She muttered with just a hint of sarcasm. Sure she was all for trying new things but not when she could come so dangerously close to losing a limb. Maybe she'd try once she was more sure of her casting ability. Yeah...she could wait 'til then. Lex nodded slowly, giving the girl a slightly suspicious look. So that's how she knew her name--Expelled?!?!? "Um, no." Just no. "I didn't get expelled." Obviously, or I wouldn't be here; think Ravenclaw girl. "but I did get detention and a suspension shortly afterwards." With that she forced a smile. It was still a fairly touchy subject for her and bringing it up made it hard for her to be nice. Then she turned to her failed shoe again. "Reverto." Shifting it just a bit she aimed her wand and tried again. "Pedestis." Tap. Her eyebrow perked up when the plate changed into a seemingly perfect converse. She didn't even know whether to believe it or not. These things had a way of disappointing her. |
Mostly Ness, but anyone is welcome! Two taps and Pedestis. Right, here goes! Full of enthusiasm, Logan Mancini bent down quickly toward the floor in order to tap the plates. In the process, he hit his hand on the table next to him, which threw him off balance. Flailing his arms, he shouted, "Wo--, W--, WOAH!" The Keeper's feet tried to spread to keep him upright, but the opposite was accomplished. Feet still planted firmly on the plates, they slipped out from underneath him and he fell flat on his bum with a loud THUMP. His face was officially as scarlet as possible. "Oohhhh," he moaned, rolling onto his side to assess the damage. That's gonna bruise in the morning, alright. He desperately hoped his Captain hadn't seen THAT. Next time, he was going to sit on a bench and try the spell. He finally managed to get up, face still burning hot with embarrassment. Pao retrieved the plates from where they'd gone flying halfway across the room. This time, he set them right next to his seat and then SAT DOWN. No more mishaps. Even though the fall had lost him several minutes, he still took longer than usual to visualize this time, mostly so he'd stop thinking about the incident and get the spell right. He'd already learned that he couldn't do transfigurations without lots and lots of concentration. Okay. Grey. Yellow polka dots. Black laces. Grey. Yellow polka dots. Black laces. Grey... Repeating this mantra had the desired effect and within minutes the boy was back to normal. He leaned over and tapped each plate once while saying, "Pedestis." Then he eagerly watched as the plates molded to his feet. The end product fit his feet well and had an excellent level of comfort. "But you're ugly," he said in a matter-of-fact voice. He was having the same problem with the colors again. Oh well, back to the drawing board! |
Minerva listened to Professor Magnus talk about how to get the shoes to fit. So you just put the plates under your feet. That was interesting, but it made sense. Of course it made sense. She looked at her plates and picked them up. She went to put them down to stand on them, but picked them back up. Maybe I should just try the spell first. Let's make sure I can get it, Minerva thought. She thought about what she could make. Something simple at first, just to know she could do the spell. Yes like just white tennis shoes. That seemed easy enough, right? Thinking of the spell Minerva tapped her wand to each plate, focused on seeing white tennis shoes and spoke, "Pedestis" One plate jumped and changed to the shoe, while the other just moved a bit without changing. Minerva frowned, well that wasn't what it was suppose to do. "Reverto" She watched disappointed as the plates went back to plates. |
