Herbology Lesson Three
Even though it was still quite nippy outside, the sun could be seen rising just over the horizon between the thick sheets of clouds, and even its glow seemed to warm the soul. There was nothing quite like a nice early morning to get down and dirty, to get the blood flowing and start the day on a high note. The kids would surely be thankful.
Standing at the entrance to the Student Garden, Seren had her hair tied back in a pony tail and was dressed in comfortable muggle attire. It was much easier to move in than thick cloaks and robes.
Directly behind her, covering the stone arch entrance to the Garden, was a large white sheet screen. Sounds could be heard from the other side, mumbling and grumbling...
"Gooooooood Morning!" she greeted the students as they arrived. "Gather round!"

Lex was still trying to get the pee off her while she looked around for her next victim gnome.
From the corner of her eyes she spotted one eyeing his ribbon like it was candy or something. Naturally she didn't blame him. Those were champion colours; they could mesmerize anyone. Such a shame she'd have to pull him away from all that but well she had a garden to de-gnome and he was just causing a cluttered mess. Nothing personal.
Walking as quietly as she could manage she snuck up behind him but of course she'd learnt her lesson about what happened when a gnome got scared so to be on the safe side she latched onto the ribbon instead of the gnome. Much safer.
"Gotch'ya! And you won't get the same chance your friend got!" Nope.

Vivi was more than a little relieved that the task for today did not involve those enormous scary bugs she and Kurumi had dealt with only weeks earlier in this same location. Not that she was scared of big bugs or anything, but she was... way into gnomes. Definitely loved the gnomes.
As soon as the sheet was lowered, she pounced on one with a blue ribbon. Or rather, she attempted to pounce and it skittered away from her. "No. You. Don't," Vivi gritted out from between her teeth as she caught it by one leg and lifted it skyward.

On the word go, or whatever the professor had said, Sierra suddenly felt this need to start running around like a gnome gone dizzy. She refrained, though. She suddenly had this extreme drive in her to WIN, though. She thrived off competition, and yes, this was definitely a competition. She hurried throughout the garden, scoping out nearby gnomes and trying to figure out which ones were most easily captured. She passed by a few gold ones and even a blue one, until finally, she saw a green one.
Sierra hurried over to it, coming up from behind. Once, she thought the gnome had caught on to her and might start running off, but it didn't. Psh. She had this. There was no way the little guy could outrun her now. She jumped a little ways forward and ending up with the gnome directly in between both her shoes. She reached down, her hand aiming to clamp down on top of the creature's head.

Alex HAD caught it! WOOT WOOT! He grabbed the little ugly creature by the ankles and got to his feet, keeping a good grip on his feet even though the gnome squirmed and squirmed and tried to claw at his wrists. He got him a few times, but not enough to make Alex drop him, much to the gnome's dismay, he was sure.
"Alright, here we go," Alex said with a smirk before he started to twirl and twirl in a circle. Gahhh, he was getting dizzy, he hoped this didn't give him permanent brain damage or something...when he turned and saw the wall, he let it go. He heard a little squeal as it flew through the air and then...
PLOP.
Alex fell right on his bum. He had gotten so dizzy, he couldn't stand up straight. It took him about 3 minutes before he finally got to his feet and began to look again.

Sierra grinned as her hand came down on top of the Slytherin gnomes head. She felt her grip tighten (although, not TOO tight), and then she straightened her posture. She continued to grin as she held the gnome eye-level and walked over to the edge of the garden. The little guy was kicking and squirming about, but it really did not good. For him, at least.
"See ya," Sierra said, and then she made circles over her head to get the gnome as dizzy as possible, and then she tossed the creature toward the forest.

As soon as her hands closed on the little creature, it started to twist violently within her grasp. Vivi raised the thing to eye level and gave it a stern look. "Stop it, you twit. I'm going to throw you, and you're going to like it. And if you don't like it... I'm still going to throw you."
She didn't want it to try to kick her, as one had to Lex, so she held the creature out at arm's length by one leg and began to spin. The angle and release had to be just right, or she'd send the thing right back into the pile of creatures. Which, you know... defeated the whole purpose.
At the last moment, she released the gnome and watched it sail up and through the air in a perfect arc toward the forest. ONE FOR RAVENCLAW.

Lily almost wanted to clap her hands when she caught the first one but instead looked at the thing and said "Good Bye little gnomey!" in a evil voice before starting to spin around.

Letting go of the little creature, the third year watched it sail well over the fence and toward the woods. One down... several to go... However, she was still kinda dizzy and as she walked back towards the garden area she couldn't walk in a straight line like she had wanted to, nearly loosing her balance with each step and nearly ending up walking right into another student. ...and with that gnome gone, Sierra was back to looking for another gnome to capture. She turned on her heels and went back into the student garden. Again, she passed by a few gnomes with red, blue, and gold colors. Nope, not them. 'Generous' and 'Sierra Greingoth' really didn't even belong in the same sentence.
If her house didn't win, it wouldn't be because of her and her donations. Nope, no handouts here.
Sierra left the gnomes of a different color behind and started gaining on a gnome colored in green. It really had no chance. This things were way too easy to catch.

Further down the garden, a few gnomes peepked their heads through the hole they'd dugout beneath the crack. Seeing that the coast was clear in this part of the garden, they slinked back in. Victory was theirs.

Now that she had the gnome exactly where she wanted it all she had to do was dispose of it. She knew that she wouldn't have any problems flinging this one since she had done so well with the first gnome. She picked up the unsuspecting gnome by the head and looked at it for a moment. She wondered what was going through his little gnome mind for a moment. You would think they would be smarter. Surely they knew that they were under attack by now.
Oh well... it wasn't any skin off of her back. She started spinning around and around until the gnome was dizzy and she flung him towards the forest. She took a minute to steady herself and watched with amazement as the gnome went further than the first one. She was a natural at this. She looked at the students that seemed concerned for the gnomes... they had to be muggleborns. Oh well... the more they worried gave Slytherin a better chance at winning and Slytherin had to win!

Ella was looking around the garden carefully, lurking if you will, trying to find a Hufflepuff gnome. She was biting her lip a bit, as she kept spotting ones wearing the ribbons for the other houses. Meh. Where were the badger gnomes at?

"There you are." She said to herself, a small smile playing on her lips. She'd spotted a lone gnome doing gnome-y things nearby and it didn't seem to notice the massive amount of gnome-hurling that was going on up in the garden. Sheesh, talk about being absorbed in something. The little guy didn't even seem scared or anything.
Sneaking up on it, Ella grabbed the gnome by the head and held on tight, waiting to see if it was going to put up a struggle. "It's alright, I won't hurt you..." She said reassuringly. "I just can't let you hurt the plants."

Oh Merlin! Or, as Professor Bentley would say, BOUNCING BLUEBERRIES! This wasn't good as her gnome was pulling on a plant while she was pulling on it's head to pull it away from the garden and...this was just bad.
Moving her arm a little so she sort of had the gnome in a head lock, Kurumi reached with the other and forced its fingers off the plant in question. She REALLY just wanted to use her wand on it like she would grindylows...but the image of the wibbling gnome was still fresh in her mind and she didn't want to see that.
AHA! Fingers free of all plant, Kurumi rushed towards the fence, spinning the gnome over her head like a lasso again and tossed it towards the forest.

Giving the gnome a good spin she got set to throw it over the wall when she saw a few of them running by her. Strange...there shouldn't have been so many of them left...everyone had been throwing them over the wall...the number should have been less.
Pushing this thought aside for a moment she gave the gnome just one more spin before throwing it over the wall to be with the rest of its friends. There. Now she could think straight. WHY WERE THERE SO MANY GNOMES?!
Whirling around she caught sight of one that had hopped onto a flower pot. Seriously. Of all the places it could have jumped!

Pausing just long enough to catch her breath, she then made her way over towards more of the plant pulling and stomping gnomes before selecting another one with a red ribbon and grabbing it by its head.

Sierra saw a few of the gnomes try to make a run for it, but she'd already cornered the one she was after. Her hand clamped down on top of the gnome's little head, creating a grip that the gnome just couldn't fight off.
Success!
Sierra again straightened her posture, coming up for a second time with a gnome in her hand. She watched the little creature as he, or she, fought to try and escape. It was just too little and too helpless, though. She laughed to herself as she walked to the edge of the garden.

This just begged the question of why there were potted plants out here in the first place. Wasn't that what the Greenhouse was for or something? Jeez! This is what happened when people decided to be all backwards about stuff. SIGH.
Now she could have just conveniently 'forgotten' that the plant was in a pot and tackled the thing anyway, afterall, if the pot broke it wouldn't matter because they were outside so it's not like the Professor would ask her to clean up or anything but she'd never tackled a flower pot before and something told her they hurt. This called for some serious crawling again on her part.
Getting low she inched closer and closer to the little guy. Slowly she reached forward and grabbed hold of his ankle. Surely liquid didn't come through their ankles too.
