Even though it was still quite nippy outside, the sun could be seen rising just over the horizon between the thick sheets of clouds, and even its glow seemed to warm the soul. There was nothing quite like a nice early morning to get down and dirty, to get the blood flowing and start the day on a high note. The kids would surely be thankful.
Standing at the entrance to the Student Garden, Seren had her hair tied back in a pony tail and was dressed in comfortable muggle attire. It was much easier to move in than thick cloaks and robes.
Directly behind her, covering the stone arch entrance to the Garden, was a large white sheet screen. Sounds could be heard from the other side, mumbling and grumbling...
"Gooooooood Morning!" she greeted the students as they arrived. "Gather round!"
Important note: If the Garden Gnome account is not online then do not wait for a post between capturing and de-gnoming.
Unless you want to, of course.
OOC: The lesson has officially begun. If you haven't done so already then please read through the Herbology Rules and Expectations and the SS Site Rules. All SS Board Rules apply. IC rule breaking will result in IC punishment, OOC rule breaking will result in OOC punishment. Please behave appropriately and most importantly... have fun. If you have any questions don't hesitate to send me a PM.

Lex skipped over to the student garden in a surpizingly good mood. Maybe it was the fact that they'd be out here instead of in that greenhouse...or maybe it was because she'd eaten half a dozen chocolate frogs on the way over. Either way she was happy and a happy Lex was a cooperative but thoroughly hyper-active Lex.
"Hello Professor!" She didn't mean for it to come out in a shout but she didn't think she could hear herself and every part of her was moving too quickly. "Nice weather, huh?" That wasn't as loud.
She hopped over to the woman, you know, gathering around like she said to then began looking all over the place. This lesson had a lot of potential for burning away the sugar...if not then...
She just wouldn't think about it.

Eliza still wasn't sure if Herbology would ever be a strength of hers, but she knew she needed to go to the class anyway. It will be good to know some of these things, regardless of if I'm actually any good at planting, or...feeding... As she entered the garden, she saw that the young Gryffindor girl was the only other student here so far. She smiled in recognition at her and gave a cheery, "Hello Professor!" towards the teacher as she found a place to stand.
What's behind that sheet? she wondered. Hopefully nothing that will try to eat our fingers off! She'd heard stories of dangerous plants and wasn't sure she had the restraint to not attack it back outright if push came to shove. Just wait and see. It might not be anything like that at all... She stood patiently and waited for the other students to arrive.
"Mornin' professor..." Jen said not trying to be rude but, her voice was a bit groggy.
Guess that's what you get for studying for half the night...Jen smiled a bit and found a table.

"Good morning Alexa, indeed, the weather is brilliant." Perfect really, just simple refreshing.

"Morning dear," she greeted the Slytherin.
Bouncing Blueberries... did the students not set their alarms?!... Perhaps an early morning class was not the best idea.
"We'll just wait for some of the others to arrive..." and they would...
OOC: The lesson will officially begin in approx 12 hours from the time of this post.
Yaawwwwnnn. Max was not a morning person, but he shuffled toward the Student Garden, surprised to see that he made it there seemingly with plenty of time to spare. "G'morning, professor," he tried to sound a bit more upbeat than he felt as he took part in the 'gathering 'round.'
His eyes fell on the sheet, then they narrowed as if he hoped he could see through it if he squinted. Hmm... curious noises.
Maybe little Aidan would FINALLY get to see some of the scary plants Max had told him about at the beginning of the term.

Minerva walked into class, she looked around. Another Herb class just seemed a bit over whelming to her at the moment. She had so much going on and then another class was just adding up. Smiling through her worries she looked around. Not many were there yet, but she know it would be filling up quickly.
"Hello Professor, having a good day I hope?" She smiled at Professor Bentley before finding a place around the students already there. She wanted to make sure she had room near her for Ethan, he was great at this class and of course she just wanted him next to her..
Ethan strolled into the garden for class. His eyes first caught the white sheet as he heard interesting sounds coming from behind it. Intriguing, he thought, as he stopped for a second to look at it appraisingly.. then moved on into the class area. Maybe they'd actually do something interesting today. "Good morning, Professor," he greeted Bentley with a smile as he walked past her.
Spotting Minnie up ahead, the boy chose a spot next to her. "Back to blue again, I see," he grinned as he stood next to her and set his bag on the ground. Yes, his color suited her quite well.

Jory headed over to the Student Garden. He was in a very good mood today though he didn't know why. "Hi, good morning, Professor,'' he said to Professor Bentley.
He was immediately distracted however, by the grumbling sound emitting from behind the huge white sheet. "What's making that sound?'' he wondered, very curious now.
Oichi really hated getting up early. She always felt so sluggish like she was a walking zombie when she wakes before sunrise which is what she had to do to get ready and make it to this crazy early morning class. She put her bed head in a pony tail, grabbed her bag packed with her book and supplies, grabbed a quick bite to eat and trudged her way to the student garden. There she saw her classmates and the proffesor but was really no mood to talk. Thus she just yawned as she took out her book and supplies in preperation for class.

Spring. Kurumi loved the season because it meant warmer weather and flowers...but it also meant that her pollen allergies acted up. So, in usual Gryffindork fashion, Kurumi timidly approached the student garden and slipped on her mask before greeting Professor Bentley.
"Good *achoo* morning *achoo* professor," Kurumi said with a small bow. "I *achoo* forgot to take *achoo* my allergy potion." And cue another nervous bow towards her Head of House. Her violet eyes darted over the top of her mask towards the white sheet screen and she simply stared at it for a few moments.
Their homework...had been about pests...and other methods to preventing them...
WHEREWASVIVI?! Kurumi couldn't handle all this without her bug defeating partner in crime...

Ella bounced her way down to the greenhouses, a smile on her face. She was always up for Herbology, even if some of the plants petrified her. So far this term hadn't been too frightening though, which was definitely a good thing. Grin.
"Hello Professor!" The third year BEAMED as she hurried through the door, noting that there were many students already there. Meep. She quickly walked over and stood beside Max, giving him a small smile and a little finger wiggle as a greeting. Right...so they would be starting soon, yeah? Bounce. Bounce. Bounce.
Sarah was a major morning person. She skipped into the student garden in apeppy mood, a big smile adorned her face. "Good Morning Professor" she crowed. She wondred what would they be doing that morning. It was great to be alive! Sarah wondred who was not happy about being alive as she was hearing some moans and groans.

Herbology was next, Kat had checked her schedule. Walking down to the Greenhouses, the blonde hugged her books and school things harder. She kept her things close ALL the time. She arrived the the Greenhouses and looked around for her seat. Yes, her seat. Before going there, she turned to the Herbology professor. "Good day, Professor Bentley," she greeted with a small nod.
Wait, why is the arch covered with a white screen?! Wh... what?!

Alex was happy that the weather was starting to warm up a bit, even if it WAS still a bit chilly. He smiled at the professor as he entered the classroom "Hello Professor Bentley!" he said happily as he took his seat. Herbology was always fun, and usually they had something busy to do with their hands after discussing plants for a bit. Those were his favorite types of classes!

Despite the chill that was still in the air as winter slowly switched over into early spring, Gideon was still glad to be headed out to the greenhouses. Herbology was a liked class of his and seeing as he had been out of commission for a few days with illness the previous week, he was also happy to be back feeling both well and back in the thick of things. The prefect slipped towards the student garden and took in the scene before him. There was a mystery sheet covering the arch entrance and students and professor were all gathered around.
"Good day, Professor Bentley," he greeted his head of house with a smile. WHat was up and what would they be handling this class? Gideon moved to take a spot off to one side of the covered arch awaiting the start of class, noting that it was his fellow prefect who was under the weather this time with her allergies, the seventh year offering her a polite nod.
Mika skipped into the classroom a pair of dangling lemon-slice earrings bouncing as she stepped in. Yep she looked especially zesty today.
"Hello Professor Bentley" she smiled over to her. She glanced around the room and smiled. She glanced at the area where the mumbling and grumbling was coming from and tiptoed closer. What were they dealing with?

Thank Merlin the sun was out and spring was finally in the air. Winters in Scotland were painful, as Vivi had just discovered, especially with nights spent on the floor of the Great Hall. She paused often on her way to the student garden to soak in the sun and tilt her face up briefly. So... lovely.
In the garden, Vivi winked at Kurumi (in her mask) and wiggled her fingers before taking up a spot near the girl. "Lovely day for working outside, Professor," she offered in a bright tone, accompanied by a broad grin.

Vickers' loosened the scarf and his robes thinking of the warmth in the greenhouse when he found the Professor standing right outside. Huh... ok were they supposed to go somewhere else? His gaze darts to the mumbling behind that white screen and furrows his brows suspiciously at it for a moment. Finally he turned his attention back to the Herbologist, greeting her politely "Goodmorning Profesor Bentley."

Groan. It was too early for Kat to even like. But the thing that made her 'wake up' was the noise coming for BEHIND the white screen. What was Professor going to do? Sacrifice them in a ritual or something? If that's so, Kat wouldn't have went here. She was NOT going to die. She doesn't even WANT to die.... I mean, who would? Some lunatic, I reckon.
Think, Hudson, think. "Well, I could say that we're going to be facing a noise-making plant," she said. What else would you think? "Maybe a Screechsnap, or a Honking Daffodil." Yeah, Kat could make a list of those. She could add Mandrake... but a Mandrake would have broke all their eardrums in the process. If they were mature already.

Spike bit his lip thoughtfully as he pondered what was behind the white sheet. He couldn't tell if he recognised the sounds being made or not, though what he had in mind would fit with the theme of the lessons they'd had so far this term. And if it was what he thought, then it'd be pretty fun facing them. It was one of the chores Spike loved doing at home.
"Is it Gernumbli gardensi, the garden gnome, Professor?" the Prefect asked, his lips curling upwards into a smile.

Minerva sighed, well what could they be facing.. She tried to rack her brain, could it be that awful plant that wrapped itself around her leg a few months ago. Yes she still remembered that thing.
She tried to focus back on the lesson and what the professor had asked them. Whatever was under that sheet was wanting to be heard, so what type of plants did that. Her mind could only focus on one plant that did that sort of thing. "Professor, will we be working with Mandrakes this morning." Yes, she remembered that these types of plants could be loud so maybe that was it.

Wiggling her fingers an scooting just a biiiiiiiiiiit closer to Vivi, Kurumi tugged on the edges of mask a bit more just as Professor Bentley began the lesson. Student garden...white curtain of possible doom...Professor Bentley looking WAY too pleased with what was about to unfold. Seemed like they would either be learning how to get rid of a certain pest or they were going to be dealing with flesh eating herbs.
Herbs were, after all, the over all theme of the term...so whatever they were dealing with today had to do with herbs...and possibly their homework.
Glancing at Spike after his answer, Kurumi couldn't help but nod in agreement. That had been her first idea...but then she turned her attention to Vivi. Sure they had removed SOME of the terrifying from the greenhouses during their Herbology task...but that didn't mean they were ALL gone. Not to mention that they HAD lead them to the student garden to capture them...was this all their fault!?
Swallowing, Kurumi glanced back at her Head of House and raised her hand. "Blast-Faced Skrebeetles?" Please say no please say no please say no...

Lex peered around the Professor at the sheet making noise. She had half a mind to think the think until it went quiet but then the Professor said they'd be facing it. Yeah...she would have to take a rain check on that one.
In the meantime she tried to guess what might have been hiding under there. Hmmm. The fact that it made noises meant it clearly had a mind of its own; being disruptive without even caring. Yup. That's what it was doing but more to the point it probably had a mouth.
Her eyes widened in excitement when she thought she knew the answer and her hand shot up enthusiastically. "Professor is it a man-eating plant?!" She soooo hoped it was. That would just be EPIC. Wow. A man-eating plant. She would have never guessed, well...er...except for the fact that she DID just guess and of course she was right because she liked her idea best. Nod.
