"So... keep you eyes peeled, don't wander off too far, and wands out." Seren instructed the students as they entered the student garden. "It'll likely be hiding, or... something... so be sure to look carefully."

With her own wand out, slightly elevated in her grip, Seren meandered over to a large growth of foxgloves, peering through it and over it and around it.. nope. Not here.

Hecate rolled her eyes. If this was some sort of mad plant it'd be in the dorms, or some classroom... not a GARDEN! It's the FIRST place we'd look for it... unless it was a stupid plant... and let's face it. It didn't seem very bright...

She had her wand in hand and was looking around the area as much as she could.

Minerva followed into the student garden. She kept Ethan close to her, but tried to stay close to Lafay as well. Bentley would be nice to the plant, because she would want to know the plant more and plants were her thing, but Lafay would not think twice to setting that plant on fire.

She listened to Bentley's instruction and tightened her grip on her wand and searched around the room. She was jumpy enough thinking about that plant lately, so it was only normal to be jumpy while looking around as well. Don't go to far, don't worry professor there was no way Min was going far at all.

"It should be an interesting lesson for you... should we find it."

Bentley's words echoed in his head as Ethan stepped into the student gardens with his little group. Perhaps it would be.. but she seemed a little too casual about the whole ordeal for his liking. He should have know she might be.. she hadn't seen Burbage snatched out of the classroom like he did. Still, he knew her expertise would prove useful.

The Ravenclaw kept close to Minerva, having let go of her hand so they could both hold on to their respective wands. No way was he keeping her out of his sight at this point.. Wand at the ready, Ethan's eyes swept the grounds, looking for any sign of viney tendrils.

"Professor Bentley," She said getting annoyed, "Does the plant want any sort of... food? Does it crave anything? Should we have plant food? Or can we cast a solar charm to attract it? What can we do?" She was supposed to be the plant expert, no?

Minerva kept a watchful eye out. That thing had to be somewhere. It was time for it to come out of hiding.. She felt like starting to call it.. Here evil plant.. plant.. plant, but would that actually work, probably not.

Listening to Professor Lafay Minerva wondering something, "Professors.. If we do find this plant, what is the plan. Is there a spell we should use on it right away, so it doesn't wrap around us?" Minerva knew she had to word her words carefully with Professor Bentley, but she wanted to know the best way to defend from this plant as well.

So the search didn't appear to be going to well just yet.. but they had only just started, so positive thoughts.

Attract it? Food?
"Well it would help if we knew exactly what we were dealing with here. But... if it has an appetite for meat..." Seren dug a hand into her pocket and pulled out a slimy thick scrap of meat. "... then this might help."

Did the others want some too?
"There's a bucket of the stuff in greenhouse four, once we're done here we could grab some and check out the greenhouses." Then lock them all to ensure nothing got in... or out... just in case.

As it turned out Minerva had a good head on her shoulders. "The plan?" she questioned. Was there a plan plan?
"Perhaps... try not to..." die? get eaten?... "get in the way of it, but stupefy might be of some use."
Yep. THAT, was the plan.

Ethan crept along the perimeter of the garden, peering through a row of mundane lilies he had planted himself after several failed cross-breeding attempts. No sign of the vine here.. And he looked up as Lafay and Minerva posed several questions. Yes, it probably would be nice if they had some sort of plan as to what they would be doing once they found the plant.. and luring it out might be a good idea so they could get this over and done with.. preferably with no more casualties or kidnappings.

He cast a sidelong glance to Bentley as she spoke. Oh.. he was under the impression that she knew what sort of plant they were looking for.. though flesh-eater was most-likely a given. "Perhaps if we describe the plant to you, Professor Bentley.. That might help you identify it?" And maybe they'd be better prepared for what they were up against? "It was pretty dark when I saw it take Professor Burbage.. but I could see several green vines wrapped around her legs.. they were really long. The vines, I mean.. And it must have been pretty strong to pull her from the room like that.." Maybe that wasn't a whole lot to go on, but he wouldn't soon get that picture out of his head..

"Minerva's had contact with it a few times." And once in the literal sense. "She can probably describe it better than I can.." he added as his eyes swept the immediate vicinity for any sign of movement and he held his wand tightly. Yes, he knew a decent stunning spell.. but he would also keep Incendio in his back pocket as well.

Minerva stopped as Professor Bentley told Professor Lafay about the meat. Hold up..they might use meat as bait. The plant took a wombat and a professor, Minerva assumed them walking about was bait enough, but now they might carry raw meat as well. That just sounded like a bad idea. Then a question hit her and she began trying to think about the last four terms. Hmmm she just wasn't sure turning towards Professor Bentley again, "Professor silly question, but do you have flesh eating plants in one of the greenhouses?" Maybe that's where they should be looking first not the student garden. Glancing at Ethan and Professor Lafay still looking ill Minerva shook that thought out of her head, it was safer in the student garden. Keep them both safe as well as Bentley and herself.

She started glancing around more and even bending down to look through some plants when she heard Professor Bentley say about what to do if they found the plant. Hmmm not much of a plan, but Professor Bentley could handle it she was the expert. "Stupefy got it professor." Then Ethan caught her attention and she turned facing him, oh he was saying about the plants look. Then she looked down when he mentioned she had experience with it. Yes she had told the headmistress about this. She wasn't sure how many professor knew though. "Yes.. I.. well have seen it three times. I was at the hot springs and it had wrapped around my leg, it was just luck that I got it off my leg, then I was with Millie the wombat the day she was taken, then the professor." She didn't know what else really to say. She just darted her eyes looking for that vine again.

... Thought she'd know? Well in all fairness, she probably DID know, but WHICH one was a mystery. "I'm not a skilled legilimens Ethan, so I'm afraid all I've got to go from is what I've been told, which at this point, is not much." Funny that.
But sure, a description would be better than nothing. "Go for it."

She listened as Ethan and Minerva attempted to fill her in... with little success.
"Well, it sounds like it could be one of hundreds of flesh-eaters..." No good. Either way, if it had vines, at least it would be easier to defend against them. "Also, diffindo might help if you get a little tangled up..." mmhmm.

"Alright, let's head to greenhouse four... get some supplies and check out the greenhouses too. It'd be best if we don't let anything in... or out."
Giving the group a nod in the direction of the glass structures, she then led the way. No point standing around for nothing.

Minerva listened as Bentley talked about the plant and then she said about the slicing spell. Good so if Minerva would have done it that day she was wrapped it wouldn't have been to horrible, good thing for that plant she slipped out some how.

Oh now they were going to greenhouse four. Minerva tried to figure if that was one she had ever been to, get in or out. That sounded like they were walking into a greenhouse of horrors or something. Taking a deep breath she wasn't going to let it get to her and followed Professor Bentley out of the student garden.
