Sutton crinkled up her nose at the thought of sitting around playing chess. That didn't sound like fun. And she had no idea what gobstones were, but she figured it must be a wizard game, like Quidditch was. "Hmm... well, I like to run, too!" she said with a smile. Sutton smiled at his surprise about her liking to run. She nodded as she caught his eye. "Mhmm... It's just about the only strictly athletic thing I enjoy doing. Sutton couldn't help but laughing at his confused expression about softball. She imagined her face must have looked the same the first time she heard the word Quidditch. Sutton wasn't so good with words. She was better with physically teaching things rather than just explaining.

"Yeah... I'd love to join you! Though, I'm more of a morning person, so I'd probably join you at dawn," she said with smile. Plus there were too many people out at dusk... she liked open space when she ran. "You know, I really haven't run much since I've been here, but maybe knowing you'll be running BEHIND me will give me some motivation," she joked, winking at him. Oh yes... behind her. Sutton might be little, but she was fast.

As he offered to hang out in the common room with her and talk all night, her face blushed again slightly as she looked away from his gaze. How any boy could want to talk to her for THAT long she wasn't sure, but he had said she was awesome, so....

Baseball? He was getting more and more confused by the second! Staring at her confusedly, he wondered if she would explain. At her attempt to do so, he blinked. It sounded like a pretty pointless game. Quidditch was understandable 'cause they got to ride around on brooms and stuff, but this baseball or softball game sounded ridiculous. He grinned. "You've got to be the only female I've met who likes mornings." Most of the others just hated to get up. Snorting at her jokingly challenging tone, he smirked. "You think you're faster than me?" He was taller than her, so she'd have to run twice as fast to keep up with him.

Didn't she want to talk? He shrugged, not bothered. It was something he was offering out of kindness, if she didn't want to, that was her choice.

As he mentioned about girls not liking to wake up in the morning, Sutton couldn't help but roll her eyes. "Well, I'm not really like most girls... in a lot of way..." she said quietly. Shrugging, she continued, "I don't know... I've just always liked the early mornings. It's so... peaceful. Like, everything is just fresh and new..." Mornings were so quiet, and maybe that was what Sutton liked most about them. In those early hours, the worries of the day hadn't set in yet.

Glancing back at him, her face still blushing slightly, her fingers brushed lightly over his arm. "I'd love to hang out in the Common Room and talk all night... with you..." She could feel her shyness creeping up from somewhere near the pit of her stomach.

Pretty much the same. Just without adding and reducing.

‘What are you up to?’, she said, willing to continue her walk. Well… as long as he wouldn’t ask anything about the diary, then it was fine.
