Just behind the Groundskeeper's Hut you will find a mini golf course. There are eighteen holes, all of varying degrees of difficulty. And each week the course changes. So come down and try hitting the ball through windmills, pyramids and over bridges of water.
SPOILER!!: Instructions
How to Play
Mini golf courses have 18 marked lanes that are numbered. Players must complete each hole in number order without skipping any hole. According to Play Mini Golf, using their putter, players are required to putt the golf ball from the tee area and straight into the hole. The objective is to make it into each hole on the course in as few shots or strokes as possible. According to Play Mini Golf, every stroke taken counts as a point. If, after six strokes, the ball has not been holed, one more point is added to the total. A player cannot total more than seven points on any one hole. The player with the fewest strokes by the end of the round wins.
Rules
1. The golf club provided is called a putter. It is used for tapping the ball with, NOT to be used as a weapon. Do NOT hit anyone with the putter.
2. Do NOT use the putter as a shovel and try and dig up the ground with it.
3. NO sword fighting with the putters. It may sound stupid but I have seen people do it.
4. The ball should be tapped lightly with the putter. Do NOT whack the ball.
5. The mini golf course is here for your enjoyment so please take care of the equipment. Any damages and you can expect the repairs to come out of your pocket.
Please ensure that you read all the rules and abide by them. If you are caught breaking any of these rules, you will suffer points being deducted from your house and in some instances you could also find yourself in detention.

It wasn't her fault that she couldn't give the ball a good whack and actually now more than ever she was just itching to take a swing at him with her putter. In her head the scene was pretty funny, she could even see a nice bull's eye on his forward....ooooo...or an X. That was supposed to mark the spot, yes? "I know I didn't hit anything." She stated, rather matter-of-factly. "Apparently if I were to really hit it I'd be breaking some rules--and what do you mean by that." Referring to his little comment about girls. She began running her hand along the putter, one wrong answer and she was going to change the rules of the game known as mini golf to something a bit more...hands on...
She watched his ball travel closer to the hole than hers had gotten. Figures. People like him weren't use to using force so they could cope without it, while she was absolutely pathetic at this being gentle thing.
Ahhh, not the sportsy kind...weird...she thought most boys were into that stuff. She thought to question it but realized the way she would have phrased the question would have made her come across as being rude--which was the farthest thing from what she was trying to be so she dropped it. "Yeah same here. I saw the nice putter and the wide open space and thought it'd be a lot of fun." Of course she clearly misinterpreted the signs because this wasn't the place for her kind of fun.
Hm..second year Slytherin...hearing that made her find it hard to believe that they hadn't started arguing by now. With the exception of Seri, Lex didn't get along well with the snakes at all! "So you're a snake...pretty decent one too." She mused. "I'm a first year Gryffie." Was that going to be a problem? Hmmmmm?
Wait.. What?
The boy blinked at her. She clearly wasn't impressed by him and his smile turned into one of a confused frown. He didn't mean to offend, that really wasn't in his nature. "Only if you hit it really hard and break the greenhouse glass" he nodded. "So that was actually a good hit." Better than some people probably did on their first try, heck he betted some people would completely miss and fall flat on their faces. He knew the girl comment had offended, Terry truly had nothing against girls, in fact most if not all of his friends were female. "I was joking. I reckon loads of girls could beat me at a game like this." And he wasn't afraid to admit it. Some girls had amazing aim and used their brains to work out angles and stuff, he just hit it and hoped that it would go near or into the hole.
Luckily for him, his strategy worked. His hit wasn't perfect, there was no doubt about that but it was good for a first try, at least he thought so. Maybe he should have a go at proper golf with his Uncle when he got home, he might find he was good at him.
Terry didn't really know why sport wasn't his thing. He loved the outdoors, wide open spaces. He loved the smell of the countryside and running across fields to get to his destination but sports, especially those of the muggle variety, just didn't interest him at all. "It's not all wide spaces though" he glanced around at the obstacles that were dotted around the course. "The windmill looked coolest to me." It looked difficult though, with the blades spinning round and round and having to get the ball through the middle without hitting one of them. It was a challenge he was going to accept.
Judging by her comment, Lex wasn't keen on the Slytherins, something that completely baffled the twelve year old. He wasn't judgemental, he didn't care what houses people were in, as long as they were nice. "Thanks" he chuckled at her statement. He thought himself to be 'decent,' he was polite and friendly. "It was my sister who wanted me to be a Snake, I didn't mind which house I would be in." They all had something special about them. "Cool!" he grinned. He hadn't met many Gryffindors yet, they were mainly Hufflepuffs and Ravenclaws.
Of course. Food had to be awkward and hard to draw. "Okay, so when does that come in the lesson plan?" He looked hopeful, really wanting to learn. He wanted to be able to surprise her with a drawing and have her say 'That's really good!'
Chuckling as she didn't give in to his attempted remorse, he noted that she played better when she was actually feeling like there was a challenge. He liked that. Her words jolted him from his thoughts and a grin spread across his face. Handsome? He liked her calling him that. "Who're you talking to?" He strolled over to her happily with his ball and putter in hand.
Thinking about it for a moment she tried to remember her own lessons and experiments. "Food will probably be lesson number 4. Depending upon how well you do in lessons 1-3." It had taken her a while to work up to doing food. Once you had it down though the next hardest thing was people. That was a whole different monster though.
Turning, Nell popped her hip out, planted her hand on it, and gave him a look. "Yeah you. Unless one of these others guys around here happen to be my boyfriend?" Glancing around she really didn't see anyone else their age so it was kinda silly to ask. But, that's what they were being. Silly.

Lesson four? Awww. Pulling a face at her to show his disappointment, he sighed. But hey, his girlfriend was giving him drawing lessons! "Uh, about the ice cream. Do we have to go see the elves for that?" Yes, he still remembered the bowl of ice cream per lesson rate.
Sniggering at her reaction, he looked around and shook his head. "I can't see anyone here who'd interest you. I'm sure they'd have to be pretty unique to get an intelligent beauty like you." Flattery gets you everywhere, right?

Smiling he nodded "Sure, I don’t mind at all. The object of the game is to putt a golf ball through the different courses and into a hole in as few strokes as possible." Leobald explained.
"Lovely!" Oh this was SO exciting!
However, as soon as Leo mentioned ... putty? putten? putter! She'd completely lost all understanding she thought the had. "Pointy stick thing?"... "I suppose I should grab one then," she mused, wondering how in the name of gillyweed it worked.
Even holding it in her hand made her feel awkward. It was nothing at all like a beaters back, and it was nothing at all like her want. Strange muggle contraptions. She wondered if Aron had used one of these before. "Right... how about I follow your lead?" She was a visual learner after all.

Instruction manual. CHECK!
Putter. CHECK!
Golf balls. CHECK!
Safely tucking the instruction manual into a robe pocket and carrying the putter in one hand and the bag of balls in the other Leo turned to Seren. Seeing that she had picked up the sticky thing he beamed. "Let's go then."
After a few minutes of walking they came to the first course where they had to putt their balls through a small hole in a bridge with daises on it to the other side where there was supposedly a hole.
Putting a ball on the course, Leobald held one hand on the sticky thing. Leg's a little apart he raised the putter a little in the air before whacking the ball forward. The ball rolled fast before it knocked into the bridge with a smal "Thump!". That was no good.........
Placing a new ball on the course, he took a step back. "Now it's your turn Seren. Aim for the hole in the bridge."
...That was what he was here for? Penelope raised an eyebrow. "Wouldn't you rather play with your girlfriend?" she replied stiffly. That was what a girlfriend was for, wasn't it? To hang out with and stuff? After all, Jake liked Anya more than he liked Penelope, so why on earth would he want to hang out with her now? Why was he even still talking to her, especially now that he had Eggbert?
She did nod though in answer to his question. Of course she remembered how to play. She wasn't THAT forgetful. At least not about things she cared about.
...Okay. That was a fast mood change. How did girls even do that? It was like Penelope had been smiling two seconds ago, and now she was... not. "Can I... not play mini golf with another girl if I have a girlfriend?" He might be new to this whole boyfriend thing, but he was pretty sure that wasn't against the rules. It wasn't like he was gonna kiss Penelope or something.
...He was kind of at a loss for words now, though.

Hmmm...what was with the frown? She didn't say anything wrong, in fact she had merely stated a fact. The point of it all was that she could have done a more decent job if she could really give it a good whack. Quite suddenly a wide smile attached itself to her face. She was positive that the thought of breaking a window in the greenhouse shouldn't have pleased her so much so she tried covering the smile by clearing her throat. "Umm..ahem...that's a...er...an interesting point right there..." More than interesting actually and she really wanted to try it now. This kid sure knew how to come up with great ideas--even if he was only a boy. She tapped the putter against her palm a few times as she listened to him explain himself. "Uh-huh. I thought so." So this one proved to be smart as well. It was a good quality that made him all the more tolerable. "Though this isn't much of a game...I've had more fun watching paint dry..."
It was actually a good bit of fun watching that paint dry...especially when one was trying to smudge the paint before it did! Heh, that would teach Amanda to listen to her more often; she said she wanted the livingroom painted in a nice shade of blue NOT that stupid beige colour so naturally adding a few smudges and mud was the best option to teach her a lesson. Hmph!
Lex shrugged. He was only half right. "There's no open space over here but I'm sure there's plenty just beyond this course." There had to be; this was a big school with lots of space! She pondered that for a moment...lots of space meant lots of running around and swinging without the annoying possibility of breaking anything. Oh? She turned at his mention of the windmill, trying to locate the above mentioned obstacle. It DID look kinda fun...but not the kinda fun you had knocking a ball into it...more like the fun you got when you climbed something... "Yeah...I bet it'd be fun to play over there." A part of her wondered if he would actually pick up on the fact that her sentence had a double meaning. Probably not.
"Oh so then you have a sister that comes to Hogwarts too?" A lot of people seemed to have relatives here. She was glad she didn't; it would have made things too annoying. "And I know what you mean..sort of...I didn't know where I wanted to be sorted but I was leaning closer to Ravenclaw or Gryffindor--Not Hufflepuff." She simply would have died if anyone tried referring to her as a puffer. CRINGE.

"...I can leave..."
Penelope might've felt bad for his sudden mood if she wasn't still upset with him and Anya. She wasn't as heartbroken mad as she'd been during and after the feast, but she still wasn't back to normal or happy or anything. "I just dunno why you'd want to play mini golf with me when there's someone you like a lot more," she replied bluntly. No point in beating around the bush.
And...that next statement was unexpected. Not the sentence itself, but what she suddenly felt when it was spoken. She wasn't happy with him, but...but that didn't mean she actually wanted him to leave...

...Which she might have done. Because there was no response to his offer to leave. Should he take that as a hint? Probably.
Alright. "Well, I hope you find a partner, then," he muttered, getting his bag situated on his shoulder so he wouldn't knock Eggbert around on his way back up the 9423523 flights of stairs.

"that will be fun" her eyes shone once more. "How about the Mini-Golf Course? I always wanted to play it" she had attempted before to play by herself, yet it isn't as fun.
This situation was kind of new for Ari. She usually had no clue what to do with herself when other people were in tears, but this time it seemed like she was on the right track. 'You shouldn't be apologizing, but you've worried me a little.' What problems could a 12-year-old have?
'Anytime. I'm here for you whenever you feel the need to talk.' the girl smiled and nodded at her friend's suggestion. 'Lead the way.' Ari told her and started to walk in the direction of the golf course. Once there, she looked around, slightly puzzled.
'I've actually never played golf before. Can you teach me?' Sure, there were instructions, but what fun was it to read them? Much more entertaining if she followed Sarah's lead.
Nessie didn't have a visor? How in Merlin's bloody beard were they supposed to play golf if she didn't have a visor? Everyone knew was the cardinal rule of golf to have a visor or least golf gloves. Honestly, the redhead had expected more from her fellow ginger. They were Quidditch captains, which meant they were competitive beings by ther nature. Competitve people just did not wear jeans to play mini golf.
And yet, Nessie was looking at Selina like she was the injured party. Today they were supposed to be playing a lovely round of golf, how could they playing now in Selina's good conscience if she knew that she didn't have a visor or golf glove? The sixth year had to figure out a way to rectify the situation. There were younger students around. Younger students who could not see their student leaders without a visor or a golf glove. Besides, Nessie and Selina had very similar hair; if Selina could work the visor so could Nessie.
Her blue eyes frantically looked around the miniature golf course to see if she could find anything that she could transfigure into a visor. It could've been anything. She would transfigure a golf ball, a golf club, afirst year- she didn't care what the object was as long as Nessie had a visor. With her eyes still on the prowl for an object to transfigure, Selina said, "I can see you don't have a visor. That's why I'm saying you need one. Don't worry I have this under control… I just need to find something here to make into a visor."
That was when Selina caught sight of a lovely golf ball that some ickle first year was putting. It was a pretty purple color- it would do. But she could not in good conscience take that golf ball, it was someone else's and this little kid would be very upset if she took it. So instead she ran over to where all the golf balls were kept in a huge bin to be used for the game. She felt around for a purple golf ball... And when she found one she transfigured it into a lovely purple visor.
Please with her work she ran over to Nessie and handed her the visor, "There you go. Now you look like you are ready to play miniature golf. Go on- put it on."
As soon as that was all settled, Selina tuned into Nessie's next question. There were going to be others joining them. Obviously Selina did not get that memo. Not that she minded in the least. More people just meant that she got to kick even more bums in miniature golf. Although, it was nothing personal- at least nothing personal against NESSIE- Selina was just very competitive.
Cocking an eyebrow in surprise she asked, "Sorry... The others? Who else are we playing against?" Secrets were no fun.
Erm...huh?
Since when did she now need a visor?
The raised eyebrow on Renesmee's face slowly turned into a confused pout. Selina did know that she wouldn't wear one of those silly things right? Because it didn't seem like she did. Ness just watched as her fellow red head's eyes began to prowl around. She could sense something not too good was coming, but before she could utter anything Selina had began rambling and then boom out of nowhere had a purple visor?
O_O
As Selina told her to put it on, Nessie just stared. She slowly took the visor from Selina and eyed it for quite a while. Yes it was purple and yes that made it just a little less unappealing, but still it did look funny.
Pout. Stare. Pout. That was all Nessie did as she looked at the visor. After about a whole minute she turned her gaze to Selina. "Do..Do I have to wear this thing?" she asked a little hesitantly not wanting to upset Selina. "I mean, it's pretty and you're really good at transfiguring things, but I ..visors bother me." Mellow. She wasn't going to get a death stare now right?
"Um.." she bit her lip as she eyed the visor once more. "The jer...I mean Dylan and Milton. I think they're coming, I said they could." Hopefully they wouldn't though, because no matter how good looking Dylan was, Ness refused tro believe she liked how he looked. In her mind she just send hatred towards him.
This situation was kind of new for Ari. She usually had no clue what to do with herself when other people were in tears, but this time it seemed like she was on the right track. 'You shouldn't be apologizing, but you've worried me a little.' What problems could a 12-year-old have?

"Sorry" said Sarah meekly. Then she brightened up "lets go play golf!"Sarah was about to point out to the girl about the instructions, yet she knew that perhaps the girl didn't notice it. "I have played before" she cringed at the memory of the time when she was about seven and they went to go play Put-Put/Adventure golf/mini-golf with their muggle cousins their grandparents coming with. An eager girl she posing for picture swung her putt back and.. unbeknown to her her grrandfather was right behind her... her put hit him in his temple... she remembered the sight of the grrey bruise which was gold ball size on her grandfather's head.. worst of all was the guilt. "Sure, I would love to show you how. First of all you have this stick, called a put" she wielded the stick before her friend. "we use this to move the ball," she said showing the little ball. "the aim is to hit the ball with the stick from the tee" she pointed to the little tee "to the hole in the least number of shots". She hoped it was clear... She did not quite agree with the rule about no thitting the ball hard - that was how she played, especially when you had to hit the ball up a steep incline. "Should we each have turns playing, like one-one etc. or should one girl go, and the other girl go only after the other girl has sunk her ball in the hole?"

Oh, wow! A golf course?! This made Ronnie VERY happy! She just loved mini golf! It was so much fun, and she was a pro at it!...well...sort of. Heh.
After grabbing a putter, she walked around slowly, looking for a familiar face. She was NOT going to play by herself, no way! Mini golf wasn't meant to be played alone..well, to her anyway. It was always more fun with a friend! Now, if she could only find one..not many people were here today.
Ed had told him he should check the mini golf course, so of course Isaac had decided to. ESPECIALLY after all the laughter he'd done listening to Ed's rendition of trying to do the putting. It was just funny! He really didn't want to go on alone with it, but Amelia was busy so he had gone down by himself. Picking out a putter he grabbed a ball and headed for the course. Spotting Ronnie just standing there he headed her way "Waiting fer someone?"

Ronnie was hitting the putter against her shoe out of boredom when she heard a familiar voice. She looked up and smiled. "Hey, Isaac." she said. "Oh, sorta. I was just looking for someone to play with." she said with a small shrug. She began rocking on her heels. "Do ya want to play with me?" she asked, cocking her head slightly. It at least meant she wasn't completely second best, even if it hurt a little that she was his just his friend and nothing more. She bit her lip, unsure how to reply.
But...she still didn't want him to leave. And she didn't want another partner. "You can stay," she finally said, though a bit quietly.

She was a pro at this, it was really the only thing she was actually good at. She was alright at Quidditch but that was all really. Adeline walked down in her golf attire. She wore a white t-shirt with a color, a bright neon green skort and some what and green sneakers. If you want to win you have to at least look the part.
Adeline got closer to the course and say someone that she knew really well...well it was the back of his head...she knew the back of that head really well. Partly because she would stare at the back of that head during class in her first year when she still had a thing for Alec. *blushes* She had to take charge of this amazing moment she had. A moment to scare the heck out of Alec. Adeline got closer to Alec and poked him in the sides and yell...
"BOOOO!"
Alec looked down at his clothes. Having never physically played mini golf before, he didn't really know what kind of clothes to wear to a sporting event like this. And when he was in a situation like this, he usually opted for a t-****, jeans and a pair of converses. And... maybe a hoodie, depending on the weather. That was what he was wearing right now. Just simple, casual clothes. That would be perfect for playing mini golf, right?
He should have asked someone about this.
But enough about his clothes! He needed to find someone familiar to talk to so he could figure out how to play this game. Because... he couldn't just go up to someone random and start asking questions, could he? No. He didn't even have ice cream with him to offer to the person! That would just be rude and in-
AARGH!
Alec jumped about a foot in the air before swivelling round to see who had poked him. "Adel!" he said, grinning from ear to ear. It was really good to see her around Hogwarts again! GRIN! "Erm... you look nice!" And as if she was about to play some serious mini golf. Either that or she did like walking around in shorts, a t-shirt and trainers.
She really hoped he would, it'd be really fun! Isaac was very fun to be with!
She definitely look bored, and he wondered who she was waiting for that had made her wait like this. OHHH! "Sure I'll play with ye." he said nodding with a grin "Ever played befer?" he asked as he nodded towards the course heading that way with his ball and putter. Heading towards the first hole he waved for her to play the first hole first. "Go ahead and go first." he said smiling and leaned on his putter to watch.

Was it just her or did Sarah feel uncomfortable at the memory of her previous golf experiences? Either way, Ari didn't have time to ask before the girl started presenting her the rules of the game and she focused entirely on that. 'A put? As in to put?' That sounded weird. But she would remember it.
After hearing the rest of the explanation, the fifth year nodded. 'Doesn't seem very complicated.' But maybe she was wrong. 'Stick hits ball from the tee into a hole. Got it.' Was there anything else? 'I'd rather we each took turns, if you don't mind. You can go first, to show me how it's done.' The fifth year replied.
'So is this a Muggle game or am I totally weird for not having played it before?' the older Gryffindor wondered.

Adeline giggled really loud. "Hahaha. I gotchya." She looked at him. "Are you gonna play mini golf?" She looked him up and down. Was he seriously about to play mini golf in that? She put her hands on her hips and just looked at him and shook her head. Addie took her hands off of her hips. "Do you even know how to play?" She eyed him.

Alec grinned at the girl and ruffled his hair. Sure, yeah, the girl had just scared surprised him but he wasn't going to tell her that. You don't... admit things like this, do you? There was probably something in the Bro Code about that. Or if not... it was still great to see Adeline so happy about this. "Yeah... yeah, you did," he said, chuckling lightly.
Oh, she was asking him something about mini golf! "Yeah! Mini golf it's... it's awesome!" he said, trying to act as casual as possible about this, "Are you going to play as well?" Maybe they could play together? Yeah... that didn't sound like a bad idea. And now... Adeline was just looking at him. And weirdly, at that. What, did he drop something on his clothes? Alec looked down and blinked. Nope. Nothing wrong. He looked back up at Adeline and blinked some more. "Erm... you okay?"
Uh oh. That question. Okay, it wasn't a bad question, it was casual actually, but the fact that she needed to ask it... well, did she know something that he didn't? Gulp. And how was he meant to act casual now? He couldn't just lie to her! He wasn't like that! "Erm... I... not exactly, no," he said, grinning sheepishly and ruffling his hair, "Do you know how to play?"

Adeline eyed him one last time. "I plan on playing." She grinned. So Asher taught her Quidditch and now it was her turn to be the teacher...right? Well it seemed like he didn't know what he was about to do let alone being happy about it. Well he had to be happy to play but not happy like Adeline was? "Are you really wearing that?" Goodness she was starting to sound like her mother. A worried look appeared on her face.
Adeline looked at him. "I'm perfectly fine, Alec." she looked at him and smiled sweetly. "Do I know how to play? I'm the pro at mini golf and it just might be in my blood to be so awesome at the game. You're great at Quidditch and me not so much. I'm amazing at mini golf and you don't know how to play it." She smiled.

"YAY!" Ronnie said with a grin, hugging her friend. She had someone to play with! YIPPEEE! She then nodded. "Yeah, I have a couple times." she said.
She smiled and walked over. "Alright." she said, setting her ball down. She got in position next to the ball with her putter, peering over at the hall. Alrighty. Here we goo! She hit the ball and watched as it rolled...riiiight next to the hole. Darn it! She growled. "Aww, man! SO CLOSE!" she said with a laugh. "You're turn!" she said.

"Awesome" he said laughing giving her a hug back. "Good at least then we both know how te play." He'd heard of Ed's try at this and couldn't help to have laughed. His shoulder was doing better now so he thought he'd give it a shot. He'd been to the healer just that morning to get it rechecked.
Leaning on his putter he watched as she hit the ball and watched it roll and stop right next to the hole itself. "Awww, te bad!" he said. Setting his ball down on the start he tapped the ball with his putter watching as it rolled its way down the path finally coming to a stop way out of reach of the hole. Wrinkling his nose he shrugged "A little harder mebbe."

"putt rhymes with cut!" Said Sarah laughingly. She placed her ball on the tee. She examined where to shoot and before she did she turned to Ari "it is a muggle game... My mom is muggleborn and we are very close with her family who are all muggles. So we played this once on an outing with my muggle cousins, my brothers and grandparents". She swung her putt back and hit the ball. It hit the diaganal bar on the corner and turned left. Sarah ran behind it and where it stopped -she stopped. "That was one shot, that goes for a point. The aim is to complete all the holes while accumelating the least points." She swung it back again, this time it reached the area right behind the hole. From there she she his it again, the ball rolled over the hole, yet did not sink in. "Oh Merlin!" said Sarah with fustration and she inched the ball forward gently. She did it as not to overshoot again, yet she did it a little too softly and it landed right next to the hole. Sarah shrugged her shoulders... she nipped at the ball again with her putt. This time it landed in the hole. "It took my five shots to get it in, therefore I got five points" She took out a partchment and quill and wrote down her score. "Your turn now!"
