Once she put her ball down again and hit it, Ed realised she'd got a hold of this game now. Smirking at the way she followed the ball, he clapped once more. It was great to see her messing around like this, especially after a whole summer of letter correspondence. Chuckling to himself, he put his ball on the indicator and assessed the hole before hitting the ball. When it followed the same line as Nell's, but fell just short of her ball, he frowned slightly. He hadn't hit it hard enough.

"Absolutely." Not that she planned on ever doing this professionally but it would definitely be a good way to blow off steam. Sometimes classes got a little stressful and finding a way to unwind was definitely a good idea.

Grinning from ear to ear Nell watched Ed make his own swing and come up just short of her own ball. "So when should we schedule your next drawing lesson?" Again she lined herself up, took aim, and smacked the ball. It didn't bank the way she wanted and ended up coming back a little ways but at least it was further along.

Oh, she wanted to give him another lesson? "Hmm, how about sometime today?" He smiled hopefully at her, but leant against his putter as the ball came back a little. "Nice try. Now watch how it's done." He grinned confidently, assessed the course again and then hit the ball. It somehow bounced through the obstacles and came to a stop one straight hit away from the hole.

Nell gave him a worried look. "I think it isn't one until you start thinking that way." She cracked a smile though. "You plan on clocking someone with it?" She didn't take him for the violent type so her tone was playful.

"Today works. What do you want the subject to be?" Knowing what he wanted to sketch or draw would help her decide where they would go for his lesson. Rolling her eyes Nell watched as he hit the ball perfectly through all the obstacles. "Show off." She muttered.

Hm, subject. "You know, I have no idea." He hadn't seen anything he'd want to draw. "Only thing I can think of is you, but I just know I wouldn't do you justice." He didn't want to attempt that because it'd be embarrassing if his drawing didn't reflect how he saw her in his mind.

Smirking at her, he put the putter over his shoulder and sauntered off to where his ball was. "I only started playing five minutes ago, and now I'm showing off?"

Awwweee...He wanted to draw her. Nell tried to keep from melting on the spot. Her artists brain took over though and she shook her head. "People is an advanced class so lets stick to the basics for now." Which would mean a solid object without too much detail. "Why don't we try at dinner and you can draw your plate and cup." That would be a good starting point.

She stuck her tongue out at him. "I'm not so sure you haven't played this before. Your playing like a muggle pro." She crossed her arms over her chest and pouted. "I think I've been duped." Boy it was easy messing with him and playing around.

He knew he was going to be turned down before he'd even finished his sentence, so her response was expected. "Okay, plate and cup. I can do that. Do I have to draw the food on the plate too?" That would complicate it slightly.

"I promise, I haven't played before." He held his hands up in surrender, but grinned slyly at her. "Well, not in real life. I played on the muggle computer though." That totally didn't count, did it?

Edric tried his best not to face!palm as Daichi took his sarcasm totally seriously. Honestly, if this weird guy went and got his butt kicked by the new groundskeeper, Edric didn't want to have anything to do with it. He had enough guilty incidents crowding up his conscience.

Luckily, though, the distracted child-like boy forgot the groundskeeper once more as his attention returned to the mini golf course.

"Well… it can be a little more entertaining than ducks," Edric responded to the boy's question. "You can't hit ducks with putters and stuff them in holes on the ground." Which was precisely what you did in the game and, simple as it sounded, it was a fun way to pass time.

But then Edric realized that what he'd just said sounded horrendously gruesome. Duck Boy would probably start crying again. "I mean-- y'know. Not that anyone would want to do that to a duck. That's why we… use golf balls instead…" he tried to explain in a hopeless effort to make himself sound a little less sadistic. Well done, Barlow.

"Forget it."
Let's just forget the ducks and move on to a new topic, shall we?

Luckily the blonde boy played along and proceeded to introduce himself as Daichi. Edric merely nodded. "I'm Edric Barlow." He looked the boy up and down. "Slytherin?"

Rolling her eyes Nell glared at her ball. Taking the putter she whacked the ball in the direction of the hole but she wasn't really trying. It sailed through a all but the last two obstacles. Turning at Edmund she tried her best to look incredulous. "On the computer?! Then I have totally been duped."

Being dramatic was kinda fun especially when it fell into teasing him. Of course playing the real thing was way different then playing it on one of those contraptions. Though, having seen the game before would give him a slight advantage.

Though she hadn't officially started playing she could bet that she wouldn't have any fun. Just look at the rules!! Not only could she not whack the ball but she also couldn't whack other people with it either!! Now where was the fun in that?! Why give a kid a perfectly good weapon then tell them not to use it? It was madness! It was the same as knowing a kid had cavities, hanging them candy then telling them not to eat it! Personally she would have eaten anyway so that just proved her point even more. If no one else was tempted to take a swing at something other than the ball with the putter, she was!

It was just so shiny...and light; really the thing would have glided smoothly through the air before hitting her directed target. SIGH.

And now to focus on the game she had had promised herself she would learn. She put the ball down and gave a gentle swing because they said she had to.

Merlin, this wasn't much fun at all. Where was the reaction? The screaming by-standers hoping not the get hit? Psssh, this game wasn't all that fun....but she liked the way the putter felt in her hand.

Aurora walked down to the mini golf course since it was a lovely day for a mini golf game. As she reached the course, she noticed that most all the students had paired off into pairs or threesomes and they all were having a blast.

This was worth commenting on but then he interjected, asking if it was her first time too. Well there, that made things not so bad! He was new at this thing too so if she were to "accidentally" knock the ball a couple yards he wouldn't be able to tell that it was on purpose. She smiled sweetly at this thought. "Oh yes, it is and I'm guessing you're first time too?"

Somehow the idea of golf just got a whole lot more fun.

"I'm Alexa by the way." She might as well seeing as they would be playing together and she didn't want to spend the entire time calling him boy...or the boy depending on the context.

"It is called a putter. Silly me. And you have to hit the ball with the putter into the hole with as few strokes as possible. Each stroke is a point and the person at the end of the game who has the least strokes meaning the least points wins." She looked at Arabella, "That doesn't sound hard does it?"

They arrived at the first hole which was a small replica of the hogwarts grounds but included more hills than the actual grounds. "Do you want to go first?" She asked.
