Just behind the Groundskeeper's Hut you will find a mini golf course. There are eighteen holes, all of varying degrees of difficulty. And each week the course changes. So come down and try hitting the ball through windmills, pyramids and over bridges of water.
SPOILER!!: Instructions
How to Play
Mini golf courses have 18 marked lanes that are numbered. Players must complete each hole in number order without skipping any hole. According to Play Mini Golf, using their putter, players are required to putt the golf ball from the tee area and straight into the hole. The objective is to make it into each hole on the course in as few shots or strokes as possible. According to Play Mini Golf, every stroke taken counts as a point. If, after six strokes, the ball has not been holed, one more point is added to the total. A player cannot total more than seven points on any one hole. The player with the fewest strokes by the end of the round wins.
Rules
1. The golf club provided is called a putter. It is used for tapping the ball with, NOT to be used as a weapon. Do NOT hit anyone with the putter.
2. Do NOT use the putter as a shovel and try and dig up the ground with it.
3. NO sword fighting with the putters. It may sound stupid but I have seen people do it.
4. The ball should be tapped lightly with the putter. Do NOT whack the ball.
5. The mini golf course is here for your enjoyment so please take care of the equipment. Any damages and you can expect the repairs to come out of your pocket.
Please ensure that you read all the rules and abide by them. If you are caught breaking any of these rules, you will suffer points being deducted from your house and in some instances you could also find yourself in detention.
Maxwell nodded. "Are you all right? Would you like me to take a look at that?" he asked about her foot as he went to get their balls.
Tay shook her head, "Nah, I am fine... I had worse." Taylor laughed and smiled at her brother, "I mean I have broken my ankle so many times before..." She shook her foot then walked to her brother.

Maxwell nodded. "Okay, if you say so." He said handing her the ball. Walking to the fourth hole. "Well i'll try not to let you get too banged up on my watch." He said jokingly, teasing her just a little.
A path is not simply for walking, its purpose lies in moving forward and improving oneself.

He didn't need a crying boy to add on to it.
"Alright, alright," muttered Edric in defeat. "I was joking. The ducks weren't roasted." Pause. "But I really don't know what happened to them. I'm sure the school put them back in a much nicer pond somewhere by a mountain. And, er, 'Floppy' is probably filling up on more bread than he could've ever dreamed of."
There.
That would make it all better. … Right?
He was not going to cry! He was fifteen now, a big boy! No, he was not going to cry! The fifth year kept telling himself this in his mind but the more he thought about Floppy being....eaten... made the tears in his eyes get bigger. They did not slide over his flushed cheeks yet but anyone who looked at the boy would notice that he was on the verge of tears.
And then... he said that he had been joking. For a second, his face lit up with the usual smile but then the thought of how he had never had gotten the chance to say goodbye crossed his mind.
"But i've never said goodbye! She was my best friend!" of course he had human friends as well but Floppy? she was the best! "This will NOT be unheard! I will go to that new Groundskeeper dude and and and... " he stomped his feet and flailed his arms to show what he was going to do.
He turned around to march to the hut but stopped. "Ehm..on other hand..uh...what is this place?" He asked pointing to the whole golf course and looked at it with a major dislike face. Yes it was shown on his face. Gaaah what was he doing? He was supposed to march over to that place! Not asked what this game was... he was NOT a chicken! He was a duck but not a chicken... Still, the thought of going alone made him feel uneasy and maaaaybe he should wait...
Maxwell nodded. "Okay, if you say so." He said handing her the ball. Walking to the fourth hole. "Well i'll try not to let you get too banged up on my watch." He said jokingly, teasing her just a little.
Tay walked to the fourth hole with him, "Okay you do that." Taylor laughed and smiled, "But dont worry if I get bruises this year... I mean I did sign up for try-outs." She was, of course, excited and hope that she would get on the team again.

Maxwell laughed a little. "You have fun with that...I'm not sure i really wanna play quidditch anymore, maybe i'll just watch...Which brings me to another rule..no quidditch players, i can't sit by and watch someone get his with bludgers again." He said lining up his shot, this one took him two strokes.

Edric listened without interest as Duck Boy began to complain that he'd never gotten a chance to say goodbye to 'Floppy'. He raised his eyebrows just very slightly, lazily, as he came to the realization that Floppy was a girl, not a boy like he'd assumed. Oh, oops. And then Duck Boy was threatening to bring the subject up to the groundskeeper. Edric raised only one eyebrow this time.
"Yeah, I'm sure starting up a fight with the new groundskeeper will be a good idea," agreed Edric with a nod, obviously being sarcastic.
But Duck Boy seemed to have a short attention span, as suddenly his interest shifted toward the mini golf game he had interrupted. As if he had just now realized where he was standing.
"It's a mini golf course," explained Edric simply. "Haven't you ever seen one?"
Maxwell laughed a little. Taylor laughed and smiled, "I will have fun with that." She stuck her tongue out at him, "Okay, no quidditch players... but you HAVE to come to the matches I play in if i make the team." She made the shot in two hits as well.

He was about to go for a second put when he heard someone talk to him he looked round to see a girl.
He gave a nod "Hey.. you play this game?" he asked wondering if she had played this game before. He saw her waggle her fingers.. ok so maybe she wanted them to play together. He moved out of the way and pointed to the putting area "You can go next" he just wanted to see if this girl was good or anything.
Well that was a fail, kid. Elodie couldn't say too much, because she wasn't the best at the game. But really, he missed the first one by a miiiiiiile. Or...a lot smaller than that. BUT STILL A MILE BECAUSE IT DIDN'T GO INTO THE HOLE OKAY?! Elodie nodded, "Just a little bit back home." Like when Braison was redoing the bathroom, and the pipes were open in the floor.. They'd played it then. Heh. Ooops. And lost a ball once, which had then blocked the pipe, and the whole bath exploding thing had happened. "You thinking of going pro?" Because he was a long way off that.
Aw, how cute! Elodie grinned at that point, and put her ball down on the floor. "That's nice of you! Thank you!" With that said, she tapped her putter against the ball, and watched it roll along the course. Right in the direction of the hole. But in typical Elodie luck? It stopped about three centimentres away. REALLY?! REALLY?! POUUUT. It wasn't cheating if she didn't touch the ball, was it? Heh. Crouching a little bit, Elodie blew as hard as she could (totally pretending she was the weather manipulator that was always on the news. Because they were totally of magical powers. .....It was safe to say, her blowing did not work on the golf ball.
This...was the last thing Penelope had expected to see when she decided to explore the grounds that day. It was only a mini golf course, not a huge one, but still, it reminded her of summer. And Jake. And that was the last thing she wanted to think about right now. Actually, not even the last thing - she didn't want to think about it at all. So she should probably leave and ignore this part of the grounds.
Though...it was kinda tempting to try it out...it looked fun. If only she had someone to play with.
Jake had wasted no time before he went out to explore the Hogwarts grounds. He had heard a lot about them, so he wanted to check them out. Sure, they weren't nearly as big as the grounds at Durmstrang. But as soon as Jake stepped outside of the castle he could see that they were far more exciting.
It was the mini golf course that caught his attention first. As he walked over, a smile played at his lips. Memories from the summer came to mind and he thought about teaching Penelope how to golf.
Oh. Speak of the devil.
"Penelope!" He called, his smile widening to a grin. "Fancy seeing you here." When he reached her, he put his hands in his pockets. "Hey."
Taylor laughed and smiled, "I will have fun with that." She stuck her tongue out at him, "Okay, no quidditch players... but you HAVE to come to the matches I play in if i make the team." She made the shot in two hits as well.
Maxwell nodded. "Of course, i'll be at every game." He said going to get their balls and handing her hers. Walking with her to the fifth hole.
Laura has decided that it was time to see what was new at Hogwarts, she was walking when she spotted something grand. "THIS IS COOL!!" Laura smiled as she looked at the crazy golf course, she would have to get Ella, Carigan and SO... Well she would have to get Ella and Carigan to have a game with her, she used to play it all the time with her twin sister Lana when they were on holiday together, and now she really wanted to play again with someone but she didn't know if anyone wanted too, so for now she was just going to stand here and watch the other people having a go.
Well that was a fail, kid. Elodie couldn't say too much, because she wasn't the best at the game. But really, he missed the first one by a miiiiiiile. Or...a lot smaller than that. Dylan nodded as she said that she had played a bit "Cool.. so you know how to play this game." drat! and he was thinking that he could beat her at this game, well actually he wanted to beat her at this game. Was he thinking of going pro "Well I have only just started playing at this game." so he hadn't played that much but still "But yeah I have been thinking about it" from the moment that you said it. He hadn't thought about it before but now that she had said it he was actually thinking about it.
He smiled as she saw her grin as he let her go next, he smiled a little more as she said that he was nice. "Um thanks" cause as much as he wouldn't admit that he was nice, he was nice at some points even if he had that 'I am not a mushy boy' front. He then watched as she tapped her ball and their eyes followed that ball as it went along the green and towards the hole, he was about to frown at her getting the ball in at the first time but he saw that the ball did in fact not go in but it stopped just before the hole.
He smiled a little as he saw that she didn't get it in but he went back to his straight face as she sat down and looked like she was checking out her next shot. He walked upto where he needed to take his next shot he hoped to get it in this time as he waited for the girl to move out of the way so that he could take his shot. He had not seen her try to blow her ball into the hole.
A mini golf course? At Hogwarts? She HAD to see this.
Everybody had been talking about it, and it got Nessie curious, real curious.
Putting on a scarf, Renesmee headed out the entrance hall and walked around the grounds untill she came across something brand new. There it was, behind the hut, the new mini golf course. It was very impressive for a school to have something like this. Hogwarts was now even better than before.
Now twirling her hair, Nessie walked on a little further. She eyed all the putters and golf balls and then looked back up at the castle, which was more than a few meters away. She wasn't doing this alone. She was expecting Selina and wherever the Gryffindor Captain was, Ness hoped she would be here soon, rather than later. She felt weird standing on her own, especially since Puffles was not with for a change.

"Yeah, kinda. I played it with my brother and sister a few times." Not many, but a few. And that had been fun, either way. Elodie widened her eyes just a little, and she watched the kid. "Oh, so you want to play golf professionally? You do know that this isn't the same, right? In normal golf, you have more of the sticks! An some rules are different." She didn't know exactly what rules, but she was going to pretend she knew them, and was exceptionally smart. She wasn't. At all. But it as fun to pretend, right?
Well it didn't seem like he liked to be called nice. SADFACE. Els would have to change that later and make him all happy to be called nice. BECAUSE IT WAS A GOOD THING, KID STRANGER. IT WAS. You know, being called nice was a fun thing.
Elodie retreated a few steps away from her ball, seeing as the blow had not affected it, and it was not her turn anymore. Looking back over at her new friend, she smiled. "I'm Elodie, by the way." If he cared. But she needed to know his name, to match it to the scoreboard in her head.
HOLE ONE.

She wasn't doing this alone. She was expecting Selina and wherever the Gryffindor Captain was, Ness hoped she would be here soon, rather than later. She felt weird standing on her own, especially since Puffles was not with for a change.
Adjusting her visor, Selina stepped onto the mini golf course. When Nessie, her fellow ginger captain, had invited her out for a game of mini-golf Selina had eagerly accepted. Anything that was remotely competitive was right up Selina's alley; that, and she really wanted to try out this new, cool visor. Seriously, it was just the most awesome hat that she had ever seen... besides her bowler hat, but that was for her and Genevieve only.
Honestly, Selina was really looking forward to getting to play with Nessie today. The Hufflepuff Captain was really making an effort to hang out with Selina and the Gryffindor really admired her for that. Previous years of being captain had only proved to Selina that there was little to no comradeship between the houses. Whenever a game was done there were no handshakes, no congratulations, but perhaps she and Nessie could change that. At least within the confines of their own houses. The sixth year knew that she was going to encourage positive behavior with her team this year. Besides, all of the captains, minus Selina, were new. It could be a whole new ball game.
But today was not about comradeship or playing nice. No, today was about playing a serious, intense game of miniature golf. That was why Selina had dressed for the occasion. They could not play seriously if they were not dressed for the part. It was sort of an unspoken rule.
However, when she finally spotted Nessie, which was not hard due to her flaming red hair, she was a little taken aback. She ran up to her fellow captain and nodded quickly, "Hey Nessie," the real question on her mind though was, "Hey where is your golf visor?" Obviously she had one, right?
A path is not simply for walking, its purpose lies in moving forward and improving oneself.

"It would?" Daichi asked. "It would right! He NEEDS to know about this and bring the ducks back!" Even at this age, Daichi believed everything that was being said to him even when the other spoke in a sarcastic manner. It was a bad habit of him and his father had warned him occasionally about it. His trait to believe people instantly had gotten him in to trouble before in Knockturn Alley.
"Yes, i will tell the man this!" ...soon...someday...when he wasn't so nervous as to actually knocking on his door. If only Murdoch was still here, then Daichi did not have any problem knocking on the door and asking about the duck pond.
Seeing a ball roll away over a lane, Daichi looked at it curiously before turning his head to the other guy as he spoke again. "Mini golf?" he asked, obviously not getting it. He was a halfblood and knew about some muggle games but not all. "What's the point of this game when there was an awesome duckpond before?!" But even Daichi whom had looked in disinterest at first was now looking curiously.
"So..uhm..how do you play this? ... OH! i forgot to tell my name!" he gasped before he bowed. "I'm Daichi~"

She was SO going to win.
Dylan listened as she said that she had played a before, drat! that meant that she might be better than him at this and it would be tough to beat her. Though he wouldnt have mind if she won but it wouldn't be a good thing to tell people that he got beaten by a girl but at least he could say that he had tried. "How old are your siblings?" he asked wondering if they were little kids or older than her.
He nodded "Yeah.. I do" he listened as she told him it wasn't the same "Well its still hitting a ball with a stick no matter what the stick is. The rules I can learn those I guess, and besides the rules cant be too different from this either" yeah so it cant be that hard to become a pro at this right?
He watched her as she stepped back away from the ball giving him a chance to hit his again, and he had to get it in this time.. he just had to. He stood near his ball and was getting ready to hit it just as she introduced herself, drat! in all this he forgot to introduce himself.
He looked at her and smiled "I'm Dylan Jacobs.. or DJ if you prefer" he said to her as he introduced himself "Nice to meet you Elodie" he said being polite as he went back to his ball.
He lined it up with the hold and he got ready to hit it again, he looked at the ball once again and back at the hole.. right thats where he wanted to hit the ball and thats where it had to go!
He hit the ball not too gently but not too strongly either.. it was going towards the hole .. yes it was.. it was going to go in, yes it was.. but just at the last moment it skimmed the hole and went off in the other direction.
He sighed as he moved out of the way for it was Elodie's turn and he knew that she was going to get it in now.

Edric tried his best not to face!palm as Daichi took his sarcasm totally seriously. Honestly, if this weird guy went and got his butt kicked by the new groundskeeper, Edric didn't want to have anything to do with it. He had enough guilty incidents crowding up his conscience.
"Right. Well, you should probably leave that for later," said Edric. "Some twenty years later, maybe." Y'know, when he was far from the school and this kid and couldn't witness anything unpleasant.
Luckily, though, the distracted child-like boy forgot the groundskeeper once more as his attention returned to the mini golf course.
"Well… it can be a little more entertaining than ducks," Edric responded to the boy's question. "You can't hit ducks with putters and stuff them in holes on the ground." Which was precisely what you did in the game and, simple as it sounded, it was a fun way to pass time.
But then Edric realized that what he'd just said sounded horrendously gruesome. Duck Boy would probably start crying again. "I mean-- y'know. Not that anyone would want to do that to a duck. That's why we… use golf balls instead…" he tried to explain in a hopeless effort to make himself sound a little less sadistic. Well done, Barlow.
"Forget it."
Let's just forget the ducks and move on to a new topic, shall we?
Luckily the blonde boy played along and proceeded to introduce himself as Daichi. Edric merely nodded. "I'm Edric Barlow." He looked the boy up and down. "Slytherin?"
Nell approached the new area with more then a little caution. She had read about these types of places but hadn't ever seen one up close and personal. Standing there she watched a few people that were already on the course. Taking a few steps closer Nell snagged one of the instruction cards and read over it.
Hmm....this could be interesting. The scene interested her greatly. Nell grabbed her sketch book out of her back pocket (grandma had cast a spell that made it shrink and grow at will), opened to a fresh page, and went to town.

Okay, Edmund had to admit, Hogwarts was pretty cool. There was all kinds of crazy stuff here! And the views in some of the places were fantastic! However, a different view had caught his attention over here. Practically sneaking up behind Nell, though it wasn't intentional, Edmund realised she was sketching. He totally wasn't gonig to say anything, he was just going to look over her shoulder and stay a little distance away. It was fascinating to watch her sketch.

The windmill was the hardest. The shading took a while but she finally got it right. The scene was just so...muggle. There were five people working there way through shrunken obstacles on a sunny afternoon. Nell decided she would send this to her grandmother. Grannie had a fascination with some of the things muggles did. This would make her grin knowing that a bunch of young wizards and witches were playing.
Some feeling had her turning her head and looking behind her. Nell spotted Edmund and smiled. "Are you stalking me?" She asked playfully.
Tay smiled, happily, "Good, I hope you would say that." She glanced at the fifth hole as they came to it.
Maxwell nodded. "Of course, You just name the time and place and i'll be there to cheer you on...unless of course you're playing Gryffindor.." He said with a smirk.

The detail she could go into was unreal! Totally fascinated, Edmund just stared over her shoulder with his head tilted and his mouth slightly open. She REALLY needed to teach him how sketch like that. Though he mentally noted that she had tried and he hadn't improved much.
He was so busy staring at the paper that he didn't notice Nell turn until she spoke. "NOPE! Sorry!" His instinctive reaction was defense. EEP. "Oh, uh, I mean.. umm.." He looked slightly shocked, but then had to suppress his laugh. "Sorry, I got carried away watching you dr...sketch." He corrected himself quickly.
Maxwell nodded. "Of course, You just name the time and place and i'll be there to cheer you on...unless of course you're playing Gryffindor.." He said with a smirk.
Tay smiled and laughed, "Well, of course." She twirled in delight. Taylor rolled her ball around in her hand, "Despite us being the winning team, you need house pride." Tay winked.
