Dylan raised his eyebrows, what was it with her and rolling those eyes of hers seriously! "Ok.. so let me get this straight.. if I pay attention.. I will get to learn some cool stuff? well what about that yoga class? I dont see anything cool happening there." well unless a fourth year puff decided that she wanted some entertainment and watched him lose his balance over and over again like she had done before. He raised his eyebrows as she said he could go swimming now "N..now? B..but you said it yourself.. its c..cold. W..what if I catch a cold? Yeah you dont want people to know that I got a cold cause of you now.. do you?" he said taking walking away from her.. there was no way that she was dragging him into that lake. He didnt want to catch a cold.. he just wanted to do it on a warm day. "We cou..could do it later. No rush" yeah he was in no hurry to go swimming just yet.

He heard her laugh she really was having fun with him wasnt she? "I..I... I could find out! then I will change colors" yeah once he knew that spell there was no stopping him that was for sure! Yeah he would change her hair and her clothes and her... oh whatever else that came to his head cause there was no way that he would not do anything if he knew the spell. He suddenly saw that she looked quite wicked and evil.. he watched in amazement as she changed her hair color "How... what.. er... yeah.. just like that" he said lowering his wand "Well.. I guess I wont have to do that on you.. you already did it. But I will change something else.. you just watch!" he looked at his lion head "Now.. be a good girl.. and change that back to the way it was." he said pointing at the lion head.. or he would have to think of something else that he would have to do against her. But he would not step foot in that library so he would have to think of other ways of doing this.

Minerva sighed, he was never going to get over yoga was he. "We don't just do yoga, that was a review class for the first one. You'll see." she shook her head. Then laughed and put her hands up like in defeat. "Okay, it's up to you, but I think you would be lucky just to catch a cold in there. I would be more afraid of the creatures living in there then a cold." she smirked at him.

Minerva tapped her head "Reverto" and her blonde came back. Then she looked at the lion head and laughed crossing her arms. "You are so smart and think classes are so fun, the you change it back." Minerva smirked, yes she was giving the first year a little lesson as to why he should listen in class. Walking a bit closer to him, "aww do you not know the spell to change it back?" She gave a small frown to be sarcastic..

Dylan listened to her "Ok so what happens in class if its not a review one?" he asked her, cause he didnt want to do anymore of the yoga positions that was for sure. If they did have to any he would just stand there and answer the questions there was no way he was doing those positions again. He then saw her laugh and put her hands up in defeat.. but then what she said caught his attention very fast "Creatures?.. did you say creatures? What kind of creatures? one with sharp teeth?" he asked her a little excitedly now that she had mentioned that there were creatures in the lake. But then again it was so cold would he wanna go into the lake?

He watched as she changed her hair back to the way it was, well he couldnt make her scream or anything with her hair changing color since she seemed to love it. So he would have to think of something else to do, he saw her look at the lion head and cross her arms telling him to do it. He looked at it knowing that he didnt know the spell to change it let alone change it back to its original state. He saw her walk towards him again, well he didnt feel fun anymore "Umm I did!.. I just.. um... forgot" he said looking at the lion head as well as glancing at her to see what her reaction would be. It looked like the tables had turned, he wanted to have a bit of fun with her at her expense and now it seemed she was having fun with him at his expense! Oh boy this was not going as planned.

On his way back to the castle after doing some extra Herbology work in the greenhouse, Ethan took a slight detour through the grounds, hoping to stumble across something he hadn't seen before. And something new was an understatement.. The boy slowly approached what seemed to be an elaborately-set activity..? party..? He wasn't sure.. but was greatly curious. As he neared, Ethan could see that it was some sort of large and interactive game.

He stood at the side for a few moments, watching the other students, to get an idea of what was happening. They seemed to be trying to hit little balls with metal sticks and guide them around obstacles to get them into holes. Sounded interesting.. and he was rather bored so he thought he'd give it a try.

Ethan peered at the rule list posted near the entrance. Green eyes scanned the instructions and list to familiarize himself with the way the game was played. Oh.. that stick thingy is called a putter? He picked up one of those and a bright blue ball and made his way over to hole number one. Because that was obviously where to start.

Minerva shook her head and thought for a second, "Well last term we had some of our senses taken like sight, and then had to do a shield charm using our other senses to know when a spell was coming." she thought that was last term, but she could be wrong. "Then we did a ball throwing lesson once, with another spell." She shrugged not remembering exactly which lessons they did these in. It felt like the four years were running together. Minerva stepped forward and looked scared for a second, "Oh if you think creatures with big teeth are scary, you should see what's in that lake. They will take you and send you down to the bottom. Then the squid will throw things at you, no one really knows exactly what's in there." She knew the squid was harmless, but Dj didn't know that.

Minerva then watched as she could see the frustration in DJ. She didn't mean to upset the poor kid, she just wanted him to realize that classes were important and that he needed to pay attention to learn these things. "Well you know DJ these boring classes that you have been complaining about and the boring professors as you say all taught me these fun little spells that I just did on your lion head and my hair. So if you just be patient and stop complaining you can have fun after learning." Was she being to Kumurmi right now?? This made Minerva think.. She remembered hearing some of her lectures first year, not to her, but to others. Shaking her head she smiled, "Now let me teach you something. Point your wand at the lion head and say Reverto." she smiled, better to make him learn how to fix things then just do it for him.

Dylan wanted as much practice as he could get from this game cause one day he was going to beat someone at this game.. he was! He got that sticky thing that they called a putter and he carefully chose a ball hoping that it would be a ball that would easily go into the hole without him doing much. He went over to the first hole and saw that an older boy was already there trying to play the game too. Dylan was now interested to see how this guy played cause if he was good at it he could be another person to teach Dylan how to play this game and then one day he would be a champion at this game. He stood behind the boy and waited to see what the boy would do and how he would do it.



Dylan listened as she talked about the classes that she had been in, shield charm? boring!!!! but wait it could help shield them from spells "Ok.. so maybe that shield charm.. thingy is cool cause it.. shields us.. from other spells." yeah and next time she decided that she wanted to change his color he would just do the shield thingy and she wouldn't be able to change his hair color. "Ball throwing? meaning.. we got to throw balls at other people?!" he asked getting excited cause he had talked about the educational snowball fight with Edmund but he hadn't realised that they could do it with balls too!! so it just wasnt a winter thing at all!! He must tell Edmund that sometime.. that they could have the game even with no snow! He watched as she stepped forward lookng all scared, but he was more interested now more than anything else "They will? It will? What.. what kinds of things? No-one? Like so if I go down there I will be the first to know what is down there? that would be awesome!! then I would be all famous and stuff for telling people what is in the lake!" he said getting more and more excited by the prospect of being famous and everyone thinking that he was all cool.

He looked up at her listening, he thought about what she said "Really? So.. if I like .. waited.. then there would be a really cool class? But.. you cant have much fun with like.. herbs and stuff.. cause thats what Herbology had the first time round.. and that was boring.. but if they had.. like.. plants with huge teeth or something.. then that would be a great class" he said his mood improving as he talked about toothy plants. He saw her shake her head and smile as she instructed him on what to do. SHE was going to teach him something?! "It had better be a cool spell! AND you have to change the head back to how it was after I do the spell" he said as he pointed his wand at the lion head "Re.. Re.. wait.. Reeeverrtoo" he said as he watched his lion head spin as smoke covered the lion head "Did it work? Did it? huh .. huh" he asked excitedly looking from her to the head, he watched as the smoke cleared and his lion head was on its side still spinning a little aaannnddd ... still purple! "It didn't work!! What kinda spell was that?! one that doesnt work!" he said not too happy that the spell she had given him did not work at all, if it wasnt a working spell then why did she give it to him to do! He felt like crying cause wanted his lion head back to normal.. and quick! but he didn't cause his dad had told him that big boys didn't cry and he was a big boy so he wouldn't cry.. he just wouldn't!

Minerva rolled her eyes, "You are hopeless kid." She was starting to get bored with this conversation. "You don't throw balls at each other to hurt one another, it was to play a game of catch using magic." Really did this kid know what Hogwarts was about, if he did not want to learn, why was he here..

Then she felt herself roll her eyes again, "I don't know go jump in the lake and see for yourself what's there, but we learned spells to protect us, so good luck not knowing any. Since classes are boring, I guess you won't be learning any to protect you either." Who was this kid anyway, she thought he was fun, but now she wondered if he had all the lights on upstairs.

Minerva then watched as Dj talked about plants, "but those plants are good for potions and things." She was getting tired of defending classes to this first year. Where all first years this annoying? Was she? Then he went to do the spell and did it all wrong, she giggled as the head went spinning. "It would have worked if you would say it right. Re-ver-to" she said clearly so that he knew how to pronounce it. "Go ahead and try it again."

Dylan's excitement quickly disappeared with that one word "I am not" he whispered not able to get his full voice out, he had hated that word everytime it was used against him and now she thought he was hopeless too. So maybe he was hopeless? it seemed that way to him, even those muggle teachers had said that to him just cause he wanted to have fun. "Well I do like a good game of catch, especially when its catching the quaffle in quidditch. Just havent done it with magic yet thats all" he said as that one word still rang in his ears, he wanted to leave and go back to his common room right now.. he didnt want to be called hopeless. But he didn't leave cause even though she had called him hopeless he knew that she wasnt bad, she was actually kind of cool.

He listened as she talked about protection and the lake, he looked up at her "I'm sorry" he said to her knowing that he had upset her with his excitement, he didn't mean to. "You are right.. if there were some cool creatures in there, and they were bad.. then.. then we would need them spells." he couldnt help it if being famous appealed to him, he nodded "I.. guess.. I wont be.. going swimming afterall then. I.. will concentrate in class.. you will be there.. right?.. so you will see for yourself." he looked at the ground and the holes, he saw that there was a ball nearby.. so he went over and just hit it not bothering to aim. Obviously with that the ball missed the hole, he then came back and stood next to his lion head that he wanted back to normal right now.

He nodded "Yeah.. I guess.. like that dream thing potion.. we did" he said not looking at her, cause he knew that if he did he would see that upset look on her face.. and after he had been having fun he was not sure he wanted to see that look. He heard her giggle but still didnt look at her instead he listened as she instructed him on how to get the spell right. With a heavy heart he decided to give it one more go before he would give up and leave it purple, he pointed his wand at the head "Re-ver-to" he said looking at the lion head and quickly glancing at her to see if she had a good look on her face to tell him he had done it correctly. He then looked at his lion head and saw it change and soon his head was back to its original state, he jumped up and down "I did it! I did it! I changed it back!" he said before running over to Minnie and giving her hug "Thank you for teaching me that" he said before realising that he was hugging her. He quickly let go and took a step back "Sorry.. I guess.. I guess I just got excited over my lion head being back to normal" he then ran over to the head and put it on "ROAR!!" he roared.. not as loud as he would have done since he was still a little upset but having his head back to normal had improved his mood at least.

Ethan vaguely watched a pair of students at the course ahead of him just to get a better idea of how this game (golf?) was played. Hmm, looked easy enough.. The fifteen year old bent down at placed the ball down at the beginning of course number one. Okay.. and now he was supposed to hit it with the putter.

The boy stood sideways, one leg on either side of the ball, and swung the putter.. and missed. Hmm, maybe not as easy as it looked.. Trying again, Ethan swung and hit the ball this time.. but he watched as the ball rolled forward, hit a large rock in the center of the course, then roll back towards him.. and past him. Ugh.

Ethan's eyes followed the ball as it rolled, then turned as it stopped at the feet of a boy behind him. "Oh.. hey there," he said slightly embarrassed to the younger Gryffindor as he bent down to pick up his ball. He looked at the boy for a moment.. maybe he already knew how to play and Ethan looked like a complete idiot here. "Uhm.. were you waiting to play? You can go ahead of me if you want.. I'm still trying to figure this game out," he added with a shrug. Plus, if this kid knew what he was doing, the Ravenclaw might be able to get a few pointers by watching him.

Dylan watched as he watched a few others play the game and he watched them too, he then saw the boy put the ball down and try his hand at putting the ball into the hole. Dylan saw that he missed, well maybe it was cause it was his first try but maybe next time he would get it in he thought. He watched again as the boy missed and the ball ended up coming towards him and ended up at his feet, he looked down at the ball before looking at the source of the greeting. He saw that it was the very boy that had hit the ball here "Hi" he said as the boy picked up his ball.

Dylan nodded a little before shaking his head "Yeah I wanna play, but I am also trying to figure it out. I can never get the ball into that hole over there. I wanna beat a few people here like this one girl called Minnie and so I need to know how to get the ball into the hole over there." he said looking at the hole "Ok I will have a go see if I have gotten any better at this game" he said stepping forward and putting the ball down before looking at the hole and at his ball, he then gave it a good hit which was too much power and the ball just bounced off a small wall and came halfway down the ground.

He looked at the boy and shrugged "I guess not yet, still need more practice it seems to me." he said stepping aside "You can go next" he said as he smiled at the boy, then an idea came to him but he would tell him afterwards that maybe they could learn the game together and get better at it together. "My name's Dylan Jacobs, or DJ if its easier." he introduced himself knowing that it would be weird playing a game without even knowing the other boy's name.

Ethan nodded as the boy spoke. "It's a bit harder than it looks, isn't it?" he said a bit pensively as it seemed the other boy wanted more practice. The fifth year watched as the Gryffindor took a turn at the game and smiled a bit grimly as the ball hit a wall and rolled back. "Minnie...." Ethan repeated. "Hufflepuff girl? About my age?" He nodded. "Yes.. I know her. Is she.. good at this game?" He shot the younger boy a questioning glance. Maybe the two of them could practice a while together and he could beat her as well..

"Oh, where are my manners," he said as the boy introduced himself. "Good to meet you, DJ. I'm Ethan," he added as he stuck out his hand. He shrugged, "You did better than me, I think." After all, DJ's ball was closer to the hole and that was the object of the game, right? "Alright, thanks," Ethan smiled back at the boy as he stepped aside. Yes.. they were taking turns because it now seemed as though they were playing together. And that was perfectly fine with the Ravenclaw.

Ethan set the blue ball down again and stood sideways next to it. He practiced the swing a few times with the putter. Just the right touch was needed apparently. He took a swing at what he thought was the appropriate force and watched as the ball went rolling. It gently hit DJ's ball sending it forward just a bit. "Oops, sorry.." he said to the younger boy. That wasn't supposed to happen, was it?

Dylan nodded "It is harder than it looks!! I thought it would be easy.. hit the ball and it goes in.. but.. it dont work like that" he said shaking his head slowly. He looked at the boy after he had hit his ball as the boy repeated what he said but adding more information, Dylan nodded "Yeah!.. that sounds like her!" he said looking at the boy with interest now "You do? Well I guess you would, you two being the same age and stuff." he nodded again "Yeah she is.. she got this one done in one hit.. and I couldnt do it even in like three hits!" he said recalling how he was being beaten by Minnie and that too quite badly before she insisted on taking his lion head and turning it purple. He was glad that he didn't bring it this time, what if this guy also decided that he wanted to turn his head into something else. These older kids... yes kids! knew spells that he didn't know, and he didnt want his lion head to be changed into anything other than what it was.

He smiled as the boy introduced himself "Umm good to meet you too Ethan" he said shaking the boys hand after he had introduced himself. Dylan looked at his ball and beamed at the boy "I did?" he said looking for Ethan's ball before remembering it was in Ethan's hand "Yeah.. I guess I did." he said grinning at finally starting to show promise in winning the game. He was thrilled that Ethan went next as they were taking turns.. and it seemed that they were now playing together. A way of collecting a few pointers as they played and taught each other the game.

Dylan watched closely as he put the down and stood next to it, practicing a few times.. well thats what he could do.. practice a few times more than he was doing currently. He watched as Ethan hit his ball and watched it go rolling before hitting his own ball, this made Dylan chuckle "Thats not the hole.. thats my ball!! " he shook his head going to his ball "You older kids are so tall that you.. that you.. er... get mixed up between.. my ball... and my hole.. I .. I mean the hole" he chuckled as he got ready to hit the ball again, this time like Ethan he practiced a bit before he decided to hit the ball. He hit it and watched it roll off towards the hole, he got a little excited as it seemed to be headed right for the hole. He watched as he then realised it was going off centre a bit and missing the hole by a little bit. Dylan stomped his foot "Oh man!! I was so close.. I was.. wasnt I?" he said looking at Ethan now as he stepped aside and let Ethan go next "You next " he smiled as he waited for him to take his shot.

"One hit?!" Ethan exclaimed as DJ recounted Minnie's past experience with the game. "She must be some sort of expert," he mumbled, determined he'd get good at this game. No way would he be playing her in this state.. that would just be embarrassing. "I'm not going to do it in three either.." He mentally counted.. he had done two and his ball was nowhere close to that hole. Not a chance it would get there in the next hit.

"Right.. sorry about that," Ethan chuckled and rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly as DJ jokingly chided him about the mis-aim of his ball. "Yes.. that must be it. We'll blame it on my height," he added with another chuckle and a wink. This was sort of fun, really.. and even though he was obviously very bad at it, Ethan was having a good time playing the game and enjoyed the company. The kid was a good sport.

The fifth year watched intently as DJ took his turn. His eyes grew wider in anticipation as the ball drew closer to the hole.. aww, it missed. "Oh, I thought you had it.. so close," he said with a rueful smile. "Next shot for sure," he added with a grin. He nodded to the little lion as he stepped forward to take his turn. Ethan took a cursory glance of the course. There was a large rock in his way, but perhaps if he aimed for that small wall the ball would bounce in the direction of the hole.. He walked over to his ball and swung a few practice swings. That had seemed to be a good idea before.. or at least he thought. Swinging the putter for real, he hit the ball and it rolled to the wall, bouncing off and rolling ever closer to the hole. It wasn't nearly as close as DJ's ball.. but it wasn't half bad. "I think that was a little better this time," he grinned at the other boy.

Dylan nodded "Yeah!!" he too was still shocked over how she had just put the ball into the hall like it was nothing, he heard Ethan mumble something and kind of thought he knew what he said "Though she said that she had been playing the game since she was little, so I guess... that playing since then.. made her good? So all I gotta do is keep playing and I will beat her one day." he was determined to beat Minnie, no matter how long it took him. Not cause of what she did to his lion head cause that was just fun.. and he learnt something from it. If only all the professors could be fun like her, he just wanted to beat someone who was as good as Minnie was. Dylan looked at Ethan "Well once you play the game more and more you get better at it, I couldnt get it near the hole even AFTER three shots and look at me now. So you just gotta keep playing.. thats what I am gonna do" yup he was gonna keep playing until he was sure he could beat her.. or anyone else that was really good at the game

Dylan couldn't help but chuckle with the guy as he rubbed the back of his neck, he nodded "Yup we will! You just need to be shorter like me!! and you will have no problems at all, even Minnie needs to be shor... noo.. noo.. she can stay tall." yeah that way she would mistake his ball for the hole too and help him get his ball into the hole. This was actually kinda fun! playing with Ethan, he may be kinda bad at the game but that was just more fun cause they could learn together as it seemed that they were doing right now. But he wouldnt mind playing with Minnie again though, even though she would beat him again, it was just all part of the fun. And who knows he might just bring another costume along for her to change color.

He looked and Ethan and nodded "Me too! I thought I had it too. Yup close.. but not close enough" he said looking at his ball that was now not too far from the hold but wasnt exactly next to it either, that would take some aiming but at least it was possible to put into the hole. He watched as Ethan looked over the course as he was deciding how to hit his ball so that it would go into the hole. He continued to watch as Ethan practiced his swing before hitting the ball, they both followed the path of the ball as it hit a small wall nearby and detoured towards the hole. Dylan was extra curious to see where the ball was headed just in case it would hit his ball again getting it even close to the hole, but unfortunately it didnt this time round. But it was not too far from his either so if he missed it this time then Ethan was sure to get his into the hole for sure! Dylan grinned and nodded "It was much better!!" he said running over to Ethan's ball "See its not far from mine either! Oh you is giving me some competi.. competi.. competition.. yeah competi-tion." he said as he walked over to his ball careful not to kick Ethan's away from his own, wouldn't want Ethan accusing him of cheating.. but maybe he might do something a little later. He then practiced a few swings before giving the ball a gentle TWACK! unfortunately he mis-aimed the power and it stood on the edge of the hole, Dylan went and ran over to it and thought about blowing it into the hole.. he quickly glanced at Ethan who he hoped was not looking and gave it a good blow, but the ball didnt move at all!! So he quickly stood up as innocent as ever "Your go Ethan" he said walking to one side trying to look innocent, cause he hadnt done anything.

Ethan had a contemplating look on his face. So Minnie had been playing since she was little.. that would make her an expert. But he could not let her show him up.. or at least not be destroyed by her. "Yes.. one day. If we practice enough, we'll be good enough to beat her," he said confidently.. even though he really wasn't. This was her territory, after all. He didn't know much about Muggle games and she certainly had a leg up on him. He chuckled at the younger dude. "Nah.. I'll keep my height, I think." Him short and Minnie tall? He didn't think so.. "It's better for boys to be taller than girls anyway."

He grinned somewhat at DJ as he seemed as pleased as he was about how close he had come. "Thanks," he said. "Maybe I'm starting to get the hang of it." Or not really, but it was a nice thought. Ethan smiled patiently as DJ stuttered a bit, then he raised an eyebrow. "Competition? You think?" Ethan was mildly impressed by this. Even though the boy was several years younger than him, he seemed quite a bit better at the game especially having more experience.

The boy watched as DJ took another turn. Was it going in?? Aww! So close! Ethan walked back to his ball and set up the shot, but before he hit it, he noticed DJ do something curious. "Oh, is that what you do when your ball is close to the hole?" He didn't remember anything about blowing on the ball being in the rules, but he had only skimmed the list and DJ had more experience. He took his swing and watched as the ball went straight for the hole, then skimmed around the edge of it before veering off. "Did you see that?" Ethan exclaimed indignantly. "I was robbed!"

Dylan nodded in agreement "Yes and beat her we do!" he kinda wanted to just have fun over beating her at the game but he wouldnt mind if he would beat her. Dylan frowned a little "It is?.. but.. Minnie is a girl.. and I am shorter than her. So.. thats not the better part" so his height went against what Ethan had just said, so he was short but was that a bad thing? There were other boys that were shorter than Minnie.. and there were girls too! So what did that mean? what did Ethan mean? he was talking in riddles! He had no idea what Ethan was on about.

Dylan grinned and nodded "I think you are getting the hang of the game" see they were learning together, they would tell each other when they had done a good shot and also maybe teach each other tricks on how to get better at the game. He nodded "Yeah I do.. I mean before you had no ball near mine and now you do! So thats progress.. so soon you could be giving me some competition" and that would be fun to see, Ethan beating him and having a go at beating Minnie. He looked at Ethan, mm he was actually having fun with people that were older than him? first Minnie and now Ethan. He wondered why he knew many people that were older than him rather than people his own age.

He was not impressed that the ball had just stopped short of going in, and he had tried to put it in. Just then Ethan asked him a question, drat!! he had been caught blowing on the ball! Well he couldn't say it wasn't now what you did cause then he might be accused of cheating in the game, so he quickly thought up an answer to get him out of getting into trouble for blowing on his ball "Oh.. well I do that for...good luck." yeah thats why he was blowing on his ball to give him some luck on his next shot or something, he hoped that Ethan would buy it though he looked like he would but Dylan could be reading him wrong. He then watched as Ethan took a swing at his ball and watched in excitement as the ball headed for the hole "Its gonna go in! Its gonna go... out? What....?" even Dylan was confused he was so sure it was in when suddenly it was out. He looked at Ethan "Yeah I did! I did!! You WERE robbed! Call someone from the MLE.. we have a thief here .. and its that hole right there!" he chuckled as he went over to Ethan's ball "Bad ball.. you are a very bad ball. You aren't supposed to be scared of that hole! Its just a short drop and then Ethan would get you out.. honest!" he chuckled some more as he patted the ball and walked over to his to take his shot. He took a couple of practice swings before he gave it a light TAP! and watched as it went in. He retrieved his ball and smiled at Ethan, it was his turn now and Dylan was sure that he would get the ball in this time.. he just had to.. Dylan had talked to the ball so hopefully the ball would listen and go in instead of running away from it.

Ethan chuckled in response to DJ's confusion about the height issue. Little kids had so much to learn.. "Yes, but you're younger than she is," he tried to explain. "When you get a little older and then you're the same age as a girl.. then it's best to be the taller one." Well, he wasn't sure why that was exactly, but guys were meant to be taller than girls. Nod.

He narrowed his eyes as he watched DJ suspiciously. Good luck? If that were true, wouldn't you blow on it before you got started? Because if you blew on it when it was the edge of the hole.. it could potentially go in.. hmm. He'd have to tuck that in the back of his mind for now..

Ethan just stared in disbelief after his ball, still shocked that it didn't go in properly. Chuckling as DJ made a fuss over his ball, he said, shaking his head, "That was just not right.. not fair at all." How was it that this game was so hard? One would think it would be fairly simple.. hit the ball and put it in the hole. But even when he got it to the hole it wouldn't go in. Frustrating!

He watched as DJ took the next shot and with a tap, the ball was in. "Nice work," he told the little lion with a grin and he stepped over to where his own ball stopped, not far from the hole. Lining up the shot, Ethan took aim and tapped the ball, relieved to see it go into the hole... and stay there! "Finally," he breathed and shot DJ a grin. Reaching down, the boy plucked the ball out of the hole and said, "So I guess we go to number two now, right?"

He listened as Ethan chuckled as he questioned him "Sooo..its ok that I am shorter than her?" cause that would be good if it was "So like.. I know this girl Alexa who is in my house and is my age.. so I have to be taller than her? what if I am not? How do I make myself taller?" he bombarded Ethan with the questions now getting more and more curious about how to get taller casuse he would love to do that!

Dylan tried to act like he was being the honest, innocent little angel he wanted Ethan to know he was, cause he was that and nothing more!

Dylan nodded cause it was toally not fair, but he heard him chuckle as Dylan talked to his ball "What? they need a little pep talk sometimes.. you watch it will go in on your next shot" he wasnt sure it would, but he hoped so .. that way he could prove that it was due to his pep talk that the ball went in. "Well we are getting better right? so thats gotta be good, better than being worse than when we started." he said cause thats how he saw it, that they were making progress bit by bit so soon they would be good enough to go against Minnie herself.

He smiled and did a small bow "Thank you" he said as he took his ball out and stepped aside watching Ethan line up his shot and tap the ball. Dylan grinned when it went in "SEE!!! My pep talk worked!! thats all they need sometimes is a little pep talk" that way they would listen to the balls and do what I tell the to do[/b]" he chuckled and grinned some more as Ethan grinned at him. He watched Ethan take his ball out and questioned him, Dylan nodded "Yup! which is over there... with that number 2 on the flag" he said almost jogging over to the hole. He then looked at Ethan "You wanna go first or shall I? " he asked him as he waited to see who would be starting this next game.

Ethan nodded. "Yes.. because you're younger," he answered then thought as DJ continued. "It's not quite as important until you're a little older.. but it's best, yes. If you're not.. well, it's not that big of a deal." Just a little awkward. He shrugged. "Well, there are potions for that.. but they're really only for adults. Give it some time, you'll grow a bit more till then, I'm sure." Ethan patted him on the back and gave him an encouraging nod.

"Are we getting better?" Ethan was not so sure. "I mean.. you said Minnie got it in one.." He quickly did the mental calculations. "It took me five," he said a bit glumly as he glanced back at the hole. Of course, this was only the first hole so he guessed it remained to be seen if he was improving.. "Are you doing better than your last game?" Ethan guessed after he practiced some, he would get better too, but he was losing hope that he would be any competition for Minnie.

Ethan chuckled at DJ's excitement over his holed ball and he nodded. "Yeah, I guess you're right.. the pep talk must've worked." He followed DJ over to the next hole and said, "Be my guest." Ethan had started first on the last hole, it was only fair that the other boy go first here. And now that he had finished the first course, surely he'd be better at the second?

Dylan listened as Ethan told him it was ok that he was short due to his age "Oh.. ooh ok! I get it now!" he said as he understood now. "When is a little older? next year?" he wanted to know when he should start caring about his height. "Not that big of a deal? Are you sure about that?!" he asked thinking about it a little bit "Ok well if you say so then I guess its not that big of a deal, but I dont wanna be short. Think you could make me a potion for young guys or something to make me taller?" he asked looking up at Ethan cause he didnt want to be short all them though it would be easier to play this game him being nearer the ball and hole. "You think I will? then I wont need the potion?" he asked Ethan as he patted him on the back, he hoped Ethan was right.

He nodded as Ethan asked him a question "I think we are!" Dylan nodded as she asked the question "Well I also did say that Minnie had been playing since she was five,, so she already got the exp.. experience that she needed to get it in one go" yeah so that meant more practicing was needed too! Dylan thought about his next question "Umm I guess so.. I mean I did more shots than I did today, so I guess thats an improvement .. right?" he questioned Ethan, was that proof enough that he was better? Soon after all the pracice they would be good enough to beat Minnie right?

He heard Ethan chuckle and what he said made Dylan grin "Yeah?.. I mean yeah it did! of course it did! My pep talks are just awesome like that. " he grinned some more as he looked at Ethan before going over to the next hole, he smiled as Ethan let him go first. He put his ball down on the putting green, and took aim with his stick and he took his shot.. after bouncing off a couple of places it ended up not too far from where he was standing "Well that didnt go according to plan.. your turn Ethan" he said stepping aside as he watched eagerly to see if there would be an improvement with him and Ethan.

Ethan nodded as he stopped in front the the number two course, then looked at DJ appraisingly. "Um.. how old are you now? Eleven?" He thought he was a first year at any rate. "Probably not till you're about my age.. like 15 or so." The Ravenclaw gave the younger boy a smile and shook his head. "No.. I don't think you need a potion yet. Give it a few years and if you're not any taller.. let me know and I'll give you a hand with a growth potion."

The boy thought about the little lion's words as he watched him take a shot. Minnie had been playing since she was five? She certainly had a head start on him, didn't she? Then, yes, he definitely needed some more practice before he played against her.. didn't need to go embarrassing himself in front of her or anything. "Hmm... I guess not," he said as he watched DJ's ball bounce back towards them. "Maybe the trick is to figure out how your ball is going to bounce and where it's likely to end up." Yes, he knew there had to be some sort of strategy or trick to this game... but it seemed so hard to figure that part out!

Ethan set his ball down at the start and aimed where he thought it should go.. maybe if it bounced of that wall.. He took only one practice swing this time as he was sure he was getting better at that part at least, then hit the ball. The bot watched as it hit the wall as he thought, bounce off, and roll at a slightly different angle than he thought. But it actually wasn't that far off and landed somewhat in the center of the course. Ethan shrugged and said, "Not too awful, I guess.. Okay, DJ, your turn."

Dylan looked at Ethan as he asked him how old he was "I am twelve now!" he said grinning proudly as it showed he was now growing up!! He wasnt the small 11 year old he was when he joined the school all those months ago in September.

His eyes when wide as he said not until he was his age "15? Hmm well thats far away so I guess I could get away with being short for now" as long as it didnt matter that he was shorter than some of the girls around here. He looked at Ethan as he shook his head "Umm ok! I will give it a few years.. BUT if I aint taller than .." he needed a girl he knew and quick.. first person to come to mind was Minnie so he named her "Minnie by then you can bet your Galleons I am coming to you!" he said giving him a nod as if to seal the deal.

Dylan raised his eyebrows at him "You guess not?" why did he say that?! He then looked at Ethan as he told him about a trick or something to help them both improve together.. Dylan nodded "Mmm I see what you mean.. like.. if I want it to end up near the hole then I gotta hit it off that wall in such a way that it goes towards that hole.. right?" he looked at it as if trying to imagine an imaginary line that showed him how to hit that ball.. but he just couldnt see a clear line to the hole.. no matter how hard he tried he couldnt see that line so he gave up trying to look for it.

He watched Ethan take his shot at the hole, he watched Ethan do only one practice before giving the ball a good whack and watched as the ball bounced off the wall and ended up not too far from the hole in the center of the course. Hmm was it him or was Ethan now getting better at this game? He looked at the boy as he shrugged, Dylan shook his head "Nope not bad at all.. yes sir!" he said and with that he walked over to his ball and tried to hit the same line as Ethan.. whacking it towards the wall. He watched his ball went off on a different angle to Ethan's as well as flying past the whole at a blinding speed and bouncing off another wall going back towards the original wall and coming to rest near the first wall that he had hit. "Ok... so too much power I think" he said to Ethan as he got off the course and waited to one side so that Ethan could take his shot.

Ella had never played mini golf before so when Harvey suggested they meet at the course that afternoon to play, the third year got very excited.

Leaving the castle, she hurried down to the entrance of the course and waited for Harvey, tugging on her shirt absently. She knew she was really early but she couldn't help it, she was excited! Learning new things always caused her to get like this...Now where was that boyfriend of hers anyway?

He was here! He was here! Harvey couldnt wait to play Mini golf with Ella so he rushed out there hoping that he could surprise her with his earliness, BUT she seemed more excited than him for she was already there! He smiled as he saw what she was wearing.. he had told her that no matter what she wore and this time it was no different. He walked upto her with a big smile on his face and put his arms around her "I see a pretty girl beat me here, too fast for me I see!" he said smiling as he looked into her eyes and then slowly leaned in and kissed her a few times before leaning away again "Needed a good start to being here with you.. and I got it!" he grinned his hardest grin no being able to help it since he was here with her.

Ella BEAMED at Harvey as she saw him coming towards her, fighting the urge to tackle!hug him. The blonde opted for a wave instead, bouncing a bit on the balls of her feet in anticipation. The hug made her smile and she gave him a small squeeze before looking up at him happily. "I'm ninja fast, Harvs. You'd think you'd know this about me by now." And she giggled before shrugging her shoulders. The giggling stopped when he kissed her and she closed her eyes momentarily, enjoying the moment. She smiled sheepishly when he did pull away, opening her eyes to look at him. "I...yeah." Blink. "That was nice." Good kisser, Harvey Watson.

So...golf. Ella wasn't exactly sure what they were supposed to do now that they were here so she looked around curiously before her eyes fell on Harvey again. "Um...so we'll need some of those erm...putter thingies, yeah?" Not that that was the technical name but still, it worked. "And erm...golf balls would be good." As for anything else they might need, Ella was kind of clueless.
