This is a special room that the professor designed just for you lovely students. It can either be a beautiful and relaxing
get away or your worst nightmare, it all depends on the circumstances behind you being in the room.
Generally upon entering the room you're greeted by a cool sea breeze and at your first step in you'll realize that you're no longer standing on cold stone but warm sand. Coconut trees are scattered here and there about the beachroom to provide shade from the inconspicuous sun. If you listen more than you yap it's likely you'll hear the ocean.
Please do not enter the room without permission from Professor Bellaire.
Messer watched as Nessie get soaking wet from the downpour. Poor Nessie. He made a mental note to go and fetch his Captain hot chocolate after class because she might need one and he hoped that Nessie know a good drying spell or she might catch a cold.
Clock-wise circular motion followed by a quick steady flick and then say Protego Caelum. Okay.
Protego Caelum. Protego Caelum. Protego Caelum. He repeated the incantation over and over again in his head so he won't forget or misspell it when he get under the cloud. He took out his wand and made a clock wise circular motion with it followed by a flick "Protego Cae---" What's the incantation again? Wasn't he just repeated that in his head? And he already forgot? Ugh.
"Ohhh yeah, its Ca-Caelum." Yes, its Caelum. "Protego Caelum!" he said while performing the charm on his own cloak
"Ready!"

The glare just bounced right off of Kendall like she imagined rain would off of the shield if and whe she cast it. She had her cloak and galoshes. They were right there on the chair next to where she'd stayed standing. It's not my fault all you said was to get them out, Professor, she thought, slowly pulling the boots up over her feet and donning her cloak. Now she was just warm, and she didn't really like it. To the point she'd almost thought of intentionally not stepping back so she got wet, but at the last minute she took a few steps back, avoiding any stray drops from the cloud that had been conjured over Nessie. Just to avoid getting yelled at for ruining the demonstration or something, and she continued repeating the charm silently as the lecture had continued. Also thinking about how it would be kind of awesome to be able to conjure up storms like the Muggles had apparently believed sometime.
Protego Caelum. Clockwise circle and a flick, she thought, Obviously she couldn't take notes when her bag was shut up in that trunk, so she'd just have to remember it til after the lesson was over. That, and she watched the demonstration the professor did, plus the couple of people who'd claimed clouds already. It was still practicing, even if it was just observing, but after a moment she slid her wand out carefully. It was hard with the cloak covering her up, so she had to adjust. "Protego Caelum. Protego Caelum. Protego Caelum," she said quietly, just making sure she still had the pronunciation right now that she'd actually spoken the incantation aloud. Then she tentatively tried the wand movement a few times, only adding the incantation again once she felt she had the movement down. She didn't want to fail, even if she didn't mind getting wet. "Protego Caelum!, " she cast, circling her wand clockwise at her cloak, then flicking it. I would've thought it would be cooler, she thought, fairly certain something had happened but not entirely sure.
She'd find out soon enough, though, as she found a cloud only about a foot away from her and stepped underneath. "Ready." Water wouldn't hurt her. Especially not if it did that awesome floaty thing like it was supposed to. Like it had done after Professor Bellaire had cast it on herself.

She knew it. She just knew it. They were going to be getting wet. Well, they wouldn't if they did the spell right. But for Merlin's sake, who was perfect every single time!
Elliot was going to try AT ALL COSTS to stay dry...DRY. She wrapped her raincoat around her tighter. She watched...as the rain poured down on the puffer...wow. Poor girl. But she was a Hufflepuff...hmmm. She guessed it didn't matter. She DID take a few steps back, though, avoiding the rain...and the wet.
The wet.
Protego Caelum...Elliot gripped her wand, and did the circular motion....she flicked her wand as she said, quite clearly, "Protego Caelum." And WOOOOH there was a shield.
Easy, yeah?
BUt Elliot wanted to make sue she had it done...she wanted to do it a few more times....

Cassia watched the Hufflepuff Captain, Nessie getting soaked and wished to be in her shoes. Because it seemed cool and Cassia liked the train. However, when Professor Bellair told them to take five steps backwards, Cassia actually went TEN steps backwards. Well she does like the rain but no one said anything about getting splashed. It irritates Cassia being half wet.
So now time to do some practicing ,right?Cassia took out her wand and repeated the spell silently. Protego Caelum.. Protego Caelum.. Protego Caelum. Now that should do it.
"Ahem…Protego Caelum…" Cassia said aloud. Yeah it sounded like Professor Bellair said it. Cassia tucked on her rain coat and glanced down at her boots. You know just to make sure.
The second-year straightened and drew a circular shape clock-wise then she flicked her wand steadily," Protego Caelum!" . Now that should do it.
Cassia bounced under the cloud and said, "Ready!" Bring the tornado on!

HAH. HAHA. Milton smirked and happily watched as the Hufflepuff Captain got soaked by a raincloud right in front of everyone. Served that crazy girl right. She was... crazy. Yep.
After that was done, Milton stopped sneering and listened to the professor because he would much rather stay dry than get soaked to the bone. So he got out his wand and practiced the wand movement a few times before saying the words. "Protego Caelum... Protego Caelum..." It looked and sounded just like Bellaire had done. So, Milton stepped under the not-so-happy looking cloud and said, "Ready."

Alright, now that Kurumi felt she had the incantation down well enough, she turned her attention to her wand in her hand. Stiff wands would find the movement easier? Was her's stiff? Kurumi tried to think back to when she had had her wand sorted for her at Ollivanders and how she had melted the man's shoes to the floor but all she could recall was him telling her that it was a good wand for transfiguration spells.
Yeah...that wasn't entirely true since she MELTED things every lesson.
Bending her wand slightly in her hands, Kurumi supposed it was...sort of stiff? Not that it mattered, she needed to focus on the movement. Clock-wise circular motion with your hand followed by a quick steady flick, was it? Practicing the movement a few times on her own in the sand - and trying not to lose her balance too much from the sand shifting positions under her booted feet - Kurumi eventually felt like she had it down enough to perform it.
With a clock-wise circular motion followed by a quick steady flick, Kurumi repeated the incantation. "Protego Caelum." Um...had it worked? Probably only one way to find out, right?
Kurumi stumbled through the sand until she arrived under a cloud. "Ready!"

Muehehe, she demonstrated the rain on a Hufflepuff. Good job, prof. But he soon gathered that he would be under a rain cloud in a matter of moments as well.
"Protego Caelum." He said with a nod. The first part was easy to say. Protego, Protego, Protego. But the second half, Theo just had an urge to say 'Callum'.
"Protego Caelum." Okay, he had it. Next up, Theo practiced the circular movement with his wand, about three times. That was always the part he stumbled on. Doing the incantation and the wand movement AT THE SAME TIME. But he felt comfortable enough. With a breath of air, Theo said, "Ready."

Annie gulped slightly, pushing a strand of blonde hair that fell lose from her bun back behind her ear as she pulled out her wand. If only her aunt and uncle had actually raised her, she may have had a lot more confidence with spells then than she now seemed to have.
Clockwise motion? Thinking for a moment she figured out which way that was before she continued to think about the flick, absently practicing it in the air for a second before she focused.
"Protego Caelum" she said quietly, holding her want firmly...
Nothing happened. Slightly frustrated that it didn't work she pulled herself together checking over what she'd done, practicing the wand movement again. "Protego Caelum" she said slightly louder, gripping onto the wand even tighter, almost letting out a frustrated groan. Trying to focus again she decided she'd give it another shot "Protego Caelum" she said again, slightly louder and firmer than previously and noticed a wispy little grey thing come from her wand.
With a sigh she figured she'd need a lot more practice, but at least she was getting somewhere... right?

Where was the Grey Lady? Sir Nicholas pondered as he floated through walls and floors in his own little bubble. She had said she had something for him when they last spoke. Ascending up through the second floor ceiling his head popped up into the middle of a sandy room full of students rather than through the accustomary wall.
Nicholas rose slowly from the sand and blinked around at the student's that scampered out of the way. He hadn't meant to spook them.

Standing under her cloud, Kurumi jumped with surprise when she saw Sir Nicholas emerge rather suddenly in the .... room? Kurumi had a hard time calling this a classroom or even a room...but it also felt a little weird calling it a proper beach as well since she was all too aware that she was inside the walls of a castle.
ANYWAY!
So, there was Sir Nicholas. Appearing out of the sand suddenly. "Um....hello, Sir Nicholas..."

"Okay everyone. Miss Dixon here will help in the demonstration of what happens when you are caught in a heavy rain storm and not under the protection of protego caelum. I'd like everyone to take at least five steps back please if you do not wish to get wet."
Time for the non-verbals. With a quick wave of her wand Sophia conjured up a rain cloud roughly the size of one of the classroom tables which settled nicely over Nessie's head.
"This class..is a rain cloud. I'll just give you a quick bit of history before moving on. Not so long ago and even now, it was believed that witches were able to manipulate the weather. Muggles believed that when we were upset or up to something particularly nasty we could conjure horrible tempest and plague the land. This is true." She smiled. "But only powerful wizards are able to do so, so today we'll focus on blocking natural weather elements." With a another flick of her wand, there was a crack of thunder which resounded around the room, then the cloud started pouring rain...very cold rain.
After almost a minute Professor Bellaire waved her wand again and stopped the rain.
"Wasn't very fun was it Miss Dixon?" She shooed the girl form under the cloud and grabbed her own cloak which she slipped into then stepped into the spot Nessie had previously occupied.
"Now you'll need to clearly say Protego Caelum while making a clock-wise circular motion with your hand followed by a quick steady flick. Those of you with firmer wands should have an easier time with this charm."
Sophia Demosntrated by performing the charm on her own cloak. There was another crash of thunder then the rain started. Instead of wetting her cloak or touching it even the rain drops seemed to be deflected by an invisible barrier.
"Once we master this spell we'll add some wind to it." She stopped the rain and produced more rain clouds.
"Now I want everyone to practice their charm properly before going under a cloud. When you think you are ready, step under the cloud and say 'ready.' Once everyone gets the hang of it we can take the room for a little spin. Carry on."
Sophia started heading in the direction of the coconut water then paused." And for those of you who neglected to bring the proper gears there is a blue trunk with extras."
Minerva watched as the Professor used Ness to demonstrate how it would be if you did not have protection. Minerva felt bad as she watched her house mate get soaked, but she kept quiet and watched as the demonstration finished. Then she watched as the professor placed her cloak on and stepped under the cloud. Listening to make sure she got everything correct when it was her turn.
Then the professor told them to get their clocks on and practice the charm. This was the time Minerva always loved. She turned pulling her cloak over her shoulders and made sure it was on correctly. Then she thought about the charm saying it softly "Protegors Caelumes" no that wasn't correct.. What was it again, Minerva looked around trying to hear the others, oh yes that was it "Protego Caelum" She said it a little louder to herself "Protego Caelum" Once she had practiced her spell she stepped under a cloud "Ready" she said as directed.

The demonstration. She had watched that intently. It didn't seem so difficult, did it? Although she desperately hoped she wouldn't end up like the Hufflepuff captain. Poor girl.
The wand movement was nothing overly complicated. Ari practised it for a while, but she got the hang of it pretty quickly, in her opinion. Clock-wise motion and steady flick. Easy breezy. The incantation, however, proved to be somewhat trickier. Instead of Protego Caelum, the girl kept saying 'Protego Caleum!' for some unknown reason.
After a few moments of being completely oblivious of her mistake, Ariadne heard students around her saying the incantation in a slightly different way. Ooops. 'Protego Caelum, I mean.' She proceeded to say it a few more times, until she finally felt prepared. All she needed to do was stand under a cloud now. 'Re-' she started, but then spotted Sir Nicholas.
'Hello, Sir Nicholas! What are you doing here? Interested in a tropical vacation?' she asked, mildly surprised. The ghosts were everywhere this term. It was fun!
'Ready as I'll ever be.' the girl spoke again, waiting for further instructions.

Beezus' mouth hung wide open when Professor Bellaire used Ness used as example for her so called demonstration. That was just harsh. She felt sorry for Ness, really. Bellaire was just a wicked witch sometimes.
Deciding that it was best not to get on the high wickedness' Professor Bellaire's bad side, Beezus just went ahead to practicing the Charm. Protego Caelum with clockwise circular motion and a flick. Okay, okay. She got it.
For a few minutes, she kept repeating the incantation inside her head then muttered it for the succeeding minute. Afterwards, the proper wand movement was considered and she practiced it for quite some time before she had finally cinched to do the two simultaneously. Doing tasks and performing spells were easy when it's just one but if there were numerous charms, her brain would go haywire.
"Protego Caelum. Protego Caelum.."
Oh..and what was Nearly Headless Nick doing at their class? "Hello Sir Nick," Beezus smiled and bowed towards the ghost, her hand busy with her wand.

Already suited up in what they'd been told to put on, Sierra took five steps back then glanced up at the Dixon girl. She listened to the tale of how witches and wizards could control the weather. Pretty cool if you asked Sierra, but...too bad only the most powerful of magical people could do it. It'd be funny to change the weather off and on throughout the day and watch the confusion.
Out from underneath the cloud, Sierra began whipping her wand around in the movement they'd just been taught. A clock-wise circular motion and then a quick, steady flick. That was basic enough, so she shouldn't have too much trouble. She repeated the spell in her head a few times just to be on the safe side.
"Re--..." She was about to say 'ready' when the Gryffindor ghost floated into the room. They were popping up more often these days, weren't they? "Ready," she said, stepping to where she was meant to be.

So, there was Sir Nicholas. Appearing out of the sand suddenly. "Um....hello, Sir Nicholas..."
Turning towards the voice the transparent, floating man beamed "Hello Kurumi!" floating closer to the Gryffindor prefect he asked in low voice. "What's going on here?" eyeing the yellow floor suspiciously he wondered what foulness Peeves had been done now.

Nicholas turned his head so fast toward a young lioness that it looked like his head tipped over. If he wasn't nearly decapitated his head would have fallen to the floor. Luckily it didnt.
Embarrassed he quickly adjusted his head to not scare anyone. "Am I interested in a what?" he asked confused.

Imitating the girls bow, Sir Nicholas felt his head tip forwards again. Reflexedly stopping it with a hand he murmured to the girl. “Hello”.
Nigel was now ready. Hoping his shield spell was working, Ehen he saw a ghost float into the class. Well it looked like it was the Gryffindor ghost. What was his name agin.
Oh, right. "Hi. Nearly Headless Nick." Nigel said waving. He was lucky that he would never get a sunburn and have to worry about using this spell.

Ella then removed her wand after practicing the incantation several times. The third year practiced the movement on its own before adding it all together. Ready, set, "Protego Caelum." ...MEH. Nothing. With a sigh, the badger closed her eyes, trying again. "Protego Caelum!" Woah! It worked. How cool was this? Though, the third year wouldn't really be sure it was successful until it started to rain on her, yeah? With a shrug, she eyed the professor and smiled. "Ready."
...Oh. And Sir Nicholas was here? Wicked. "Hi Sir Nick." Did ghosts near weather shields too? Did the rain just go right through them? Soooo many questions.

Okay...spell time...great...
Penelope practiced the clockwise circle and flick wand movement a couple times, mumbling the incantation under her breath just to get the feel of the two before she actually tried it. After about a minute or two, she decided it was time to try it out. Pointing at her cloak, she moved her wand in a clockwise circle with a flick at the end and said, "Protego Caelum."
There was probably only one way to find out if it actually worked...so...she went to stand under a cloud and said, "Ready."
And then suddenly Nearly Headless Nick appeared. "Hi, Sir Nicholas." Was he going to participate in the lesson too?

Annabelle heard the professor's instructions. She was excited to learn a new spell. It was called Protego Caelum. Hmm interesting spell it seemed. She said the spell three times. "Protego Caelum...Protego Caelum...Protego Caelum..." she repeated under her breath. Then she practice the wand movements three times which was a circular motion with a sharp flick. After she got the jist of it she went under the cloud and said..."Ready!" with a little cheerful smile.
Belle then noticed Nearly Headless Nick. "Good morning Nick. How are you today?" Belle asked to be polite.
That was definitely not fun, Silvia thought as she watched the Hufflepuff being used for demonstration. A lesson to never be late for one of Bellaire's lessons (not that Silvia was ever late, but if she had to be late for a class one day, it definitely would not be this one).
"Protego Caelum," she repeated several times before pulling out her wand and tried the circular motion followed by a quick but firm flick. She would practice the charm a few times before chancing to step beneath a rain cloud. "Protego Caelum," she said again, this time accompanying the incantation with the proper wand movements. Everything seemed to go smoothly, but she would give it a few more tries just in case.

Cardigan took it upon herself to practice the charm several times before actually using it. Didn't want to mess up! It wouldn't be fun to end up like the Hufflepuff Quidditch captain, would it? Poor her. She mentally noted to never be late to a Charms lesson. Not such a good idea.
Success! It felt easy saying the charm, now ready to do it for real. Taking out her wand, she said "Protego Caelum," while doing the wrist flick thingy. It seemed to work! She felt good about it. Walking over to and under one of the clouds, she said "Ready!" with spirit. She was SO ready for this!

The second year stood under that cloud impatiently. When were they going to start? What was taking so long. You know the spell they were supposed to practice wasn't that hard and that was Cassia speaking. If she could do it then anyone could. No offence to herself of course, she thought. None taken, she thought again. :| .Yup chatting with herself in order to pass the time.
Then suddenly a ghost appeared! Cassia jumped startled by the sudden appearance of the ghost who was the Gryffindor's as Cassia guessed. She saw how his head was nearly falling on the floor, and it wasn't a very pleasant thing to see. The twelve-years old covered her eyes with her hand and said ,"Will please put your head on more carefully!" She never thought that she might use those words speaking to anyone. "Oh and Hi," She added still covering her eyes.

Hannah listened and watched as the professor demonstrated. She was glad that she decided to use a puffer for this demonstration. HA! Although she was not happy that she would be getting wet. Well if she did it right the first time she wouldn't, but the way things were going for her that didn't look like it was going to happen.
Our turn to practice eh? Well you didn't have to ask Hannah twice to take five steps back. Deep breath. She would have to get this right the first time and practice makes perfect right? So practice she did. "Pro-tego Cae-lum." Easy enough. "Protego Caelum." She so had the incantation down. Now to practice the wand movement. She moved her wand in a circular motion and followed it up with a quick and firm flick. Now to practice that a few more times...

There's a reasonable part of him that doesnt really want to leave the shade of the tree, and truthfully it had nothing to do with vanity and everything to do with pain tolerance. Sun burn is not fun yo.
But as the Professor discussed and demonstrated what they were going to do there was a bit of hope shining through for this Ravenclaw-- even if it means having to face a storm cloud.
At least he wouldnt burn....
He tucked his things into the trunk provided and took hold of his wand. Now how was that again? Clockwise circular motion followed by a quick flick. Vickers practiced the wand movement a few times while he mouthed the spell silently Protego Caelum... Protego Caelum
Oh distraction. "Hello Sir Nick."
He shifted his wand and pointed it towards the sand, moved his wand in a circular clockwise turn and uttered "Protego Caelum"

Sophia started heading in the direction of the coconut water then paused." And for those of you who neglected to bring the proper gears there is a blue trunk with extras."
If Protego Caelum was at all like regular Protego, then Vivi didn't think it would be terribly challenging. She had mastered the Shield Spell several years back, although it had always seemed woefully insufficient in the broader sense. This spell was nice because it seemed to be lasting, so you could do other spells and it would keep on working.
Vivi traced the motion with her wand, careful not to say the spell or even think it until she was ready to do an actual practice cast. There now... nice easy wand movement. She traced one more time before lifting her wand to point at her cloak (now not covering her head).
"Protego Caelum." She couldn't really tell if it was working without spitting on herself or something equally vile, so she opted to trust the spell for now. As for the rest... she'd like to cast on her spell, but how long did it last? How awful if she wouldn't be able to shower again until the spell stopped working!
Sigh. A question for later, perhaps. Vivi stepped beneath the cloud with a wry shrug.
