This is a special room that the professor designed just for you lovely students. It can either be a beautiful and relaxing
get away or your worst nightmare, it all depends on the circumstances behind you being in the room.
Generally upon entering the room you're greeted by a cool sea breeze and at your first step in you'll realize that you're no longer standing on cold stone but warm sand. Coconut trees are scattered here and there about the beachroom to provide shade from the inconspicuous sun. If you listen more than you yap it's likely you'll hear the ocean.
Please do not enter the room without permission from Professor Bellaire.
Nigel started to lay down on the sand and think about Professor Bellaire's question. He was happy that he learned a new charm today and it would help him stay dry when it was raining. That is always a plus. Maybe it even protected you from sunburn. He would love to not have to sunblock on and only use a spell.
"Professor, does this spell protect you from sunburn?"
Nigel also wondered what would happen if a hurricane and appeared and you used this spell. Would it protect you from the rain and not the wind.

Minerva was in a daze with the wonderful room and had lost complete focus that the professor was speaking or even asking a question. She felt the breeze around her and the sand at her feet. It was a wonderful feeling, expect for the heat. She was never found of the heat. That was the down fall to this room she had decided. So she was thinking about the heat when something caught her attention. Oh.. umm.. oops a charm, when did a charm come into the conversation. When did the professor ask any questions.
Minerva sat up straighter and pushed herself to focus, so they were already learning a charm.. about what though. Listening hard to the other students she realized it was to help protect from weather, oh that would be a good one to learn. She remembered times she could have really used that charm, but it would have been in the muggle world so she probably wouldn't have been able to anyway.. So the charm was Protego Caelum, she said this in her head a few times to make sure she had it down, but was distracted yet again. Oh did Kurumi just ask about water.. Coconut water?? Hmm that sounded good, wait..wait she was suppose to be listening what was going on this term with her getting distracted.. but water did sound good. Getting up she quickly got herself a coconut water and then sat down to really concentrate this time.
Yay, a new spell, James was eager to learn it. This was an interesting subjects.. this was useful too. If it could repel rain, did that mean he could throw out his umbrella... it was badly broken anyway
Running as fast as she can, Nessie raced ahead to where the Charms classroom was. She reached the door and panted, now out of breathe. She stood still for a few seconds and then hoping for the best she opened the door to see that class had fully started.
This was FAAAAAAR from good. Renesmee looked at the Profesor and then looked at the classroom, taking in the very different surroundings. It was almost like a sea, very tropical and it looked pleasant. She turned her attention to where the students were sitting. Would the Professor noticed if she sneaked quietly to her seat without saying anything..probably.
Doomed she was.
"Um..I was in the bathroom. Sorry, Professor." she said going bright, bright red. At least she wasn't lying. She looked at the ground and just kept on praying the Professor wouldn't kill her.

Messer listening as the Professor explained to them more about the spell. So today they will learn using this Protection Charm from elements of the weather? Neat! So he won't need an umbrella when its raining, he just need to cast this charm and he'll dry. Awesome!
The third year was about to ask about protection against the sunburn when he heard a Ravenclaw was asking that question. Yes, Professor he would like to know that too.

"It seems you've all been reading. Three points to all of you who attempted to answer." She stepped a little closer to the students.
"As was mentioned by one of your classmates the incantation 'protego' comes form the word 'protect'. The variant of the protego charm that we wil be studying is Protego Caelum. Caelum is the latin word for atmosphere and weather." They could see where she was going with this right? "It's a fairly simple charm that you all will learn..if you apply yourselves. I hope you all remembered to take the appropriate foot wear and your cloaks with you." She looked around the room at all of them. Right moving on. "This charm when performed correctly should be apply to shield you from elements of the weather. Any questions?"
Belle had a habit of second guessing herself. She knew she should be confident about it. She will be from now on. Annabelle wondered if she had any questions for the professor. "Professor what type of weather conditions can it protect you from?" Belle was curious about that. She was feeling relaxed around her surroundings in the charms classroom.

Sierra opened and closed her mouth several times in an attempt to answer the question. Every time she tried to say something, though, somebody else beat her to it. So she finally just sat back and listened to the discussion around her, all the while coming up with questions only to have them asked before she could say anything.
Then finally, when there was a break in the conversation, her hand shot into the air. "What about objects or general locations? Does the charm protect those, too?" she asked. "Say...a hurricane was coming in. Could we cast this on buildings or landmarks to keep them from blowing over?"

He went to the chair nearest to him, combed his hair with his hand for a bit, and was now able to take out a quill and parchment. Professor Bellaire also used her wand to bring some clouds onto the ceiling, as to make the room a little bit cool. Emil was glad for that.
Professor Bellaire asked about the charm Protego and like all magic spells, Emil was clearly puzzled what it's for. He has an inkling that it's for "protection", as they do sound similar. Professor Bellaire also introduced the phrase Protego Caelum, and she mentioned that Caelum means weather. To Emil, he thought the professor was mispronouncing coelom, which refers to the body cavity. Emil couldn't help but chuckle a bit with that thought in his mind.
Emil also couldn't help but connect all the lessons in his mind. They were learning about making clothes in Transfiguration, and talking about the snow storm that stopped the Hogwarts Express 30 years ago in History of Magic. Now they're gonna learn how to protect their clothes against weather in Charms. Everything seems connected somehow ... he thought. Hopefully we're not gonna be put in a winter prison by something. I wouldn't mind cold weather, I just don't like sitting indoors. If they let us ski or skate or something, then I'd be fine if that happens here in Hogwarts.
Emil was just curious about something, because he's starting to remember what his mother told her in a story. Apparently, Protego is a pretty advanced charm. He remembered his mom telling him that the boy, Harry Potter, didn't learn the spell until he was a fourth year. So he raised his hand, "Professor, will those us in the first years be able to successfully cast this spell?"

She could tell that some of the students were busy doing other things or just spacing out. Some of the questions asked had already been answered but she was trying this whole being patient thing.
First question."I can't say I'm one hundred percent sure whether or not the Hogwarts express uses the charm but the next time you see Professor knuckle-head Scabior."
Who was next?
Blink..
"Like I said earlier we will be looking at a relatively simple variation of the Protego spell. It's not as complicated as you are made to believe." By whomever.
And another question that already had an answer."Yes if performed correctly the charm should be able to protect you from extreme weather conditions."

Minerva listened to the professor and stood up. Pulling out her cloak and boots she set them down and walked over to the trunk. She didn't want to see any of her books get damaged so yes she would keep them hidden if that was the plan. After setting them in a safe place Minerva moved back to her cloak and boots. She was ready to get started she loved doing spells and this would be fun.
YAY. Done with all the questions, though Elliot was glad she had her own question cleared up. Charms...it was fun, usually, especially when the demonstration part came. Which was...NOW!
she shot a grin at Hannah and raised her eyebrows in anticipation..heeeee! She pulled out a black raincoat and black rainboots, not a fan of either pieces of clothing. She wished she had blue for Ravenclaw....but maybe that was a bit too cliche? Hmm?
She then went and placed her precious backpack in the trunk..yeah...no she didn't want her things getting soaked...OH WAIT. That meant...
That they were getting wet.
Great. Elliot eyed Hannah....her hair...it was going to get all...gross. But she wouldn't complain about this aloud...her raincoat had a hood, right? She made sure it did and sighed...good. She could stay as dry as could....

Yep...this was the part were all sorts of things ran loose and you had to be prepared for anything.
At least anything didn't include getting books and notes destroyed as the professor presented them with a hiding place of sorts for such things. The woman seemed to be in a fairly decent mood this class, well other then miffed at the late Hufflepuff. But all professors hated that not just Bellaire though it appeared as if the captain had yet to receive punishment for said action...that did not bode well when the unexpected still loomed in the horizon for the rest of them.
He pushed it aside, not wanting to dally lest he be another to face her. After replacing his parchment and quill inside his school bag,Gideon got up from his seat and moved over to the spot and set his sachel in the trunk before returning to his previous spot. There...one thing done, he mused to himself. Then on second though, he slipped his cloak on over his shoulders to stand ready for whatever it was that was to come, his wand within reach in his pocket.
Reaching into her bag, Sutton pulled out her cloak and her rain boots. As nervous as she had been to come to charms class, she was actually kind of looking forward to it now. This was going to be a really useful lesson! As the professor mentioned the trunk, Sutton looked confused for a moment. Couldn't they just protect their belongings with the spell they were about to learn?
Well, Sutton was not about to take a chance on ruining her notes.
Walking over to the trunk, she flashed a small smile to the professor before securely storing her trunk in the box, then she moved back away with her wand, cloak, and boots in hand, preparing to practice.

Oh about time! West went over and put his bag in the trunk, and got out his cloak and gumboots while he was at it.
He went back to his chair and waited, hoping that he'd actually learn a charm in the lesson this time.

They were reaching the practical portion? Great. Time for her to fail. Meh. Penelope took out her cloak and boots though and, after considering it, decided she wanted to put her backpack in the trunk. There were mostly just textbooks in there, but she doubted she'd have any better luck reading wet textbooks over dry ones. If she was going to attempt to read those things, they needed to stay dry. So she placed that in the trunk then went back to the spot she'd previously occupied and waited for the lesson to continue.

In spite of the direction to remove her cloak from over her head, Vivi was slow to emerge back into the sunlight. When she finally did, she glanced at her bare arms for signs of pinking of the skin. Perhaps the suggestion earlier was a good one... maybe she could use the spell as a sort of sun shield tooooo.
And finally, they were given leave to put up their books and satchels, which meant the practical part of the lesson was about to begin. Awesome... bad weather meant no sun, right? It was a shame she'd brought a heavier cloak rather than a raincoat, but she should be able to stay relatively dry and warm. Vivi tucked her bag inside the trunk and checked that she still had her wand.

Great! Because that was going to be Emmanuelle's question. What they would with their things, that was. She quickly finished up her notes, then shoved her textbook, parchment and quill back into her bag. Doing one last check to make sure that she had removed her rainboats and coat, she zipped up her bag before walking over and setting it in the trunk.
Once she had made it back to her seat, she picked up her boats and slipped them on. She took the time to charm the sand off her raincoat before also slipping it on. There, ready!

Violet frowned a little bit when a fellow Hufflepuff had arrived late to class. Then when Professor had said she was going to "make an example" Violet could only imagine what was going to happen. Then when the Professor had instructed everyone to put their belongings in the trunk Violet wasted no time bringing her white rucksack and placing it down to prevent anything from happening to her belongings.
When she turned around Violet noticed someone with a very familiar set of curly hair and she smiled almost instantly. She quickly threw her cloak over herself and made her way towards the tall Gryffindor. When Violet was beside him, she nudged him a little bit with her elbow as to give him a subtle greeting and also to make sure not to speak aloud in fear of losing points. She then turned her attention back towards the Professor waiting for her to speak.

Kurumi's eyes widened, sort of with surprise actually, when she was told that the coconut water was for everyone. Still, the chance to try a new flavor - which could perhaps lead to a new cookie! - was thrilling and exciting and made this Charms lesson worth it. "Thank you, professor," Kurumi chirped with a small bow as she waddled in the sand back over towards the hut and, more importantly, the pitcher of coconut water. Pressing her glasses with nervous excitement to her lips, she took a small sip.
Okay...yep...this definitely needed to be used in a cookie recipe!

Kurumi was still sipping away blissfully when Nessie arrived...late...and she half expected another 50 points or something to be taken from Hufflepuff...but instead it was worse. Or felt worse to the Gryffindor. Nessie had just volunteered herself it looked like. Kurumi had had that happen to her...in Potions.
It had been horrible.
Cleaning her glass and setting it back down on the table, Kurumi waddled back over to the group when they were called back in and rummaged through her bag for her boots and cloak. Thank Merlin for Undetectable Extension Charms, right? Taking up the offer, Kurumi put her thinks in the trunk and then went to stand with everyone else, eyes glancing nervously at Nessie again.

So, they just learned a weather-protection charm. Suddenly, everything made sense. Bellaire was going to shower them in rain. Wonderful. Milton grudgingly shuffled through the sand over to the trunk and dropped his school bag inside. He put his rainboots on and draped his cloak over his body and got his wand out.
Milton liked rain, yes, but he had a feeling this wasn't going to be JUST a little rainstorm... Was it too late to fake sick?

Jory got out his cloak and rain boots. He then zipped up his bag and followed some students over to the trunk where he dropped it in to the trunk.
He walked back to where he had been sitting and waited for the lesson to proceed.
Sophie was readyy to learn new spells!!! She was having a hard time not bouncing around. That enchanted room had truly made her all giddy! It was just brilliant!
The badger widened her eyes when a fellow Hufflepuff rushed into the beach classroom after the class had started. Uh oh... that was not good. Especially because this was professor Bellaire's class... Sophie bit her lower lip and waited to see what the odler witch would do, but... she didn't do anything... For now... Weird.
Anyway, it was time to move on. Sophie went over to the trunk professor Bellaire showed them and, while she waited for some of her classmates to make way, she got out her cloak and rain boots. After placing her bag in the trunk, she walked back to where she was, holding the boots on her left hand and with the cloak hanging from her left arm.
She took out her wand and held it in her right hand. She kneeewww they would practice the incantation and all first, but MERLIN she wanted to learn spells already!! She couldn't help it!

Mika was excited to start the practical part. Because wearing raincoats all day would be fun. And she wanted to throw her things into that trunk SO bad. Dropping her bookbags and everything else that need not get wet into the trunk she had her cloak draped over her arm. And her wellies were in hand. She was so ready for this to begin.

Okay, her question hadn't really gotten answered. Kendall didn't remember anyone having actually said anythin g about rain before she'd asked. Extremm weather, yes, but that didn't mean rain. Neither did the fact they'd been told to bring cloaks and galoshes. That might've meant water, but rainstorms were fun. Therefore, she was looking forward to the lesson, even if she felt like she'd been ignored. Ignored was better than getting yelled at, like Renesmee was for being late, and she merely got to her feet as the attention was still off of herself.
Taking her cloak and rainboots out, she dropped them on her chair as she thought about whether or not she wanted to put her bag in the trunk. Books, her boots, chocolate... Yep. I want it protected, she decided, heading over to drop it into the trunk behind Mika. Okay, she better not try to steal my chocolate, she thought, kind of eyeing her fellow metamorphmagus as she went back to her chair. Wand still safely in the holster on her arm under her sleeve. Professor Bellaire had only said to get their gear out, not to put it on yet. So she was going to wait. Maybe they were learning the spell first. Protego Caelum...

Finally the moment Surya has been waiting for all the while has turned up. It's time for him pack his things up in a trunk, and get ready for the practical lesson. 'Let's see how the practical lesson would be?' he wondered.
