Default The Irie Room (Charms Lesson 1)

This is a special room that the professor designed just for you lovely students. It can either be a beautiful and relaxing
get away or your worst nightmare, it all depends on the circumstances behind you being in the room.

Generally upon entering the room you're greeted by a cool sea breeze and at your first step in you'll realize that you're no longer standing on cold stone but warm sand. Coconut trees are scattered here and there about the beachroom to provide shade from the inconspicuous sun. If you listen more than you yap it's likely you'll hear the ocean.

Please do not enter the room without permission from Professor Bellaire.

The rain began to fall and…

She didn’t feel it. Silvia reached her hand out to touch the outer side of her cloak. While her hand got a little wet, the cloak was dry. Success! That was easy, though it had helped that charms came easily to her and she already knew how to cast a simple Protego charm. No more umbrellas needed; well, except when she was back home for the holidays and couldn’t use magic.

SPOILER!!: professor

"Older students and those of you who think you have master the storm stay here." She banished the raining clouds away and grinned. There was a mischievous gleam in her eyes..just like the evening she had locked Medea in the room.

"I'm not sure how many of you have every been exposed to a hurricane or a tropical storm..." Probably not many. "Today you will all be. As a girl growing up on the island almost every summer we'd face a hurricane or some sort of tropical depression. MY parents would protect the house using this very charm and it saved us from having to rebuild or do repairs after every storm. But before my siblings and I learnt the charm we'd get caught out on the beach sometimes when playing after the eye of the hurricane had passed and all sorts of things would fly at us because of the heavy winds....coconuts became missiles
, parts of muggle houses, tree branches you name it..but those we could dodge..the sand grains were murder. Nothing hurts more to me than getting slapped with sand over and over..it's like being stung by a thousand bees." She grinned...good times...gooood times. "Anyways..you'll all be exposed to hurricane conditions in a little while. You'll need a strong charm so don't put yourself through this if you know you might not be able to produce one. I'll give you a little time to dry off and prepare yourselves." She waited for reactions.

"Now i'll have something special for the witch or wizard who manages to come out of this hurricane the driest and with little or no signs of being stung by sand."

A hurricane? Flying debris?

O___O

Could this spell really protect them from all that? The third year glanced towards the hut. Should she....? No, she wouldn't. Maybe it was all that Gryffindor blood in her family that was finally getting to her, or maybe it was just her stubbornness, but she had made up her mind to brave the storm; she would stay here. Silvia took a deep breath. She would never get better if she didn't push herself and test her skills every now and then. Still, she really would prefer not to get wet, or stung by sand. But no, she wasn't going to change her mind. Bring it on (minus the flying coconuts, please).

On days like today she understood why wizards went into the teaching profession..watching students progress was reward in itself...a real tear jerker.... unless that was the room affecting her /:

She continued making her rounds until she received questions from two of her older students.

"The spell can be performed on your body but I would prefer if you didn't try it..well at least not today.." in her class. "As for how long the charm lasts well... That usually depends on the person casting the charm. Skill levels matter so you'll find that a more powerful wizard's charm could last almost a whole day while more inexperienced ones will get a few hours tops."

Thing were going very well so Professor Bellaire figured she could make things a bit more challenging for those who had gotten the charm down.

"For those of you having trouble with getting the charm just right please go under the thatched hut. I'll be with you shortly to see what problems you are having." He glanced at Vivi when the Professor addressed her question. He was actually curious on how that would work and although the Professor said it can be done... she emphasized the not now part. Well gosh... ok.

And as she addressed his question he nodded his head with obvious relief. A few hours of protection on average.... thats not bad at all, frees up his hands and his mind from worry about leaks and such. And for as long as he doesnt find himself in the midst of a hurricane whipping through he should be fine right?

Oh wait... the Professor just said something about that-- a hurricane!

The further she explained, the more this Ravenclaw got nervous about the next part of their activity. Yeah flying debris slicing through the air isnt fun to think about much less live with it on a periodic basis, and now she was about to let them experience it. Oh joy.

But whoooahhh slow down there... did she say SAND GRAINS??!??

Sand on the ground-- he can live with that. He has shoes and that can keep those teeny-tiny things annoying particles out. But sand whipping through the air where it can get into hair, nose, ears, clothes, every fold and crevice--- every everything??!?!?

*TWIIIIIIIIIITCCCHHHH!CRIIIIIIIINNNGGEE*

Vickers blanched, twitching and shaking unconsciously. He felt like he was turned inside out, both frozen stiff and turned into jelly. If he backed away sloooowly maybe the Professor wouldnt have noticed that he was gone? Or maybe he could join those in the hut and ride out the storm? Yeah that sounds very appealing. Stay in the hut all nice and dry with the coconut juice and the Odessa kid. Not a bad deal right?

And he was just heading towards that direction when he realized-- what if he's the only upperclassman in that hut? Younger students were understandable, what with skill level and all that, but an upperclassman like him? What if he's the only person in his year to have backed away from the challenge? You know he prided himself for not being a quitter.

Guh. Decisions decisions....

A real test of his spellwork, where his sanity hinged upon it. This was worse than NEWTs.

Ella smiled when the rain clouds were banished, feeling pretty proud for getting that charm down so quickly. Professor Bellaire's expression did make her a bit uneasy, though. It was clear to the third year that the older woman was up to something, something she found amusing. Gripping her wand a little more tightly, the badger raised an eyebrow as those students who didn't feel confident in their work were asked to seek shelter. Hmm...This wasn't good.

Blink.Blink. Hurricane? They were going to have to protect themselves from HURRICANE conditions? Ella frowned, taking particular notice in the sand stinging information that was being shared. She didn't fancy bees and she didn't imagine that the sand stinging just like the buzzing creatures was going to be pleasant. Unfortunately for Ella, her need to test out her abilities was greater than her fear of being stung by some sand. She stayed rooted to her spot, taking a deep breath. She could do this.

Noting that Sophie had also decided to stay and face the elements, Ella smiled at her best friend, giving her a small thumbs up. "We got this, Charms queen." She said quietly, more trying to convince herself of that fact than her friend. They'd be okay, she was sure of it...mostly.

Nigel was okay with just using the shield on a rain cloud. Then he hears what they were going to do next. Merlin, What was this professor thinking.

A student could get injured. He was lucky his shield was working and he was not getting wet. But he was not sure his shield could handle a HURRICANE.

Nigel was going to do it anyway. He was scared. But was sure this was a once in a life time chance.

Nigel closed his eyes and gripped his wand waiting for the Professor to continue.

Eliza watched some of the other students gather under the hut. She was glad not to be among them. Still happy about her charm working so well she thought she heard the words “hurricane” and “tropical storm.” What? …Really?! She couldn’t tell if she was more appalled or excited. On one hand, she’d already seen what she considered to be less than gentle treatment from the professor - on the other, she knew you couldn’t learn by theory alone. She weighed her options and decided to give it her best shot. She felt really comfortable with the charm now and felt she could muster a really strong one for the next task. I guess I wasn’t exaggerating at the start of class when I thought there might be a big storm.

She looked around her and noted the other souls brave enough to play in the storm. She actually really liked storms. At home she’d always sit in her tree house and watch the clouds roll in. Looking back now, she realized her father had probably charmed her hide out to protect it from the weather. She’d have to thank him when she spoke to him next.

She flexed her fingers and adjusted her grip on her wand. She was ready to have some fun with this storm.

She re-focused herself at the task at hand.

The clouds had been vanished and Professor Bellaire was speaking once more. The woman dividing the class up by those older students and students comfortable with the charm and those who werent or hadn't properly managed it yet. Tropical storm...hurricane. Things would get THAT bad.

Gideon had dealt with the occasional strong storm, mostly when visiting his grandparents in Portugal or his aunt and uncle down south but he couldn't remember anything classified at that level. Still...he wasn't about to back down on the challenge placed before them. Wouldn't be very brave or Gryffindor of him and he was indeed comfortalble with the spell. So Gideon Gert remained with the rest of the group staying outside and away from the safety of the hut.

Bring it on.

It was going to be nearly impossible to come out of this totally dry when 1) her hair was already dripping wet and 2) she wasn't allowed to cast on her hair and face. Her hood only covered so much, and the wind would whip up her cloak.

She could take care of that problem, at least. Vivi cast the shield on her boots and on the fabric of the trousers she wore under her cloak. That should keep everything dry but her face, and perhaps if she pulled her cloak forward a bit more it would block out most of the wind and rain.

Huddling in on herself, Vivi tried to ignore those around her as she steeled herself for the onslaught. The little ones would go off to safety, and her peers really ought to be able to cast this spell. It was so similar to regular Protego, after all, and if they couldn't cast that, they didn't deserve to be dry. It was impossible to ignore Vick, though, who seemed to be having some sort of internal crisis. Not afraid of the storm, was he? It wasn't a real one, but some fears were just irrational and overpowering.

Okay? she pantomimed with a shrug, not wanting to embarrass him if he wasn't well.

Hurricane?!?! Having come from France and planning to move back there once this term was over, those were never part of her gameplan for life. Nope, not now, not ever. Until now, that was. And her only choices were to stand out here and have any number of things hit her, or go in the hut and look like a giant wuss. Well, if she went into the hut, at least she'd be dry, not sand/wind burnt. But she'd be the only older student in there, since it seemed her fellow upperclassmen/women were staying out here. And that would get around. She didn't want to be known was the big seventh year wimp. That wouldn't be good for her nonexistent reputation AT ALL. So, she decided to stay put. Gah.....

~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ It be like that sometimes.

"Hurricane?'' Jory thought trying not to panic. He had never experienced one of those before. But he had no trouble with the spell before and he wanted to stay to see what this was going to be like.

So, the boy stood his ground and waited for further instructions.

Okay, so apparently her cloud was broken. Kendall had said she was ready, and nothing had happened. Nothing, and she tilted her head back to look up at the cloud, preparing to either yell 'ready' at it again or just yell at it for being stupid. She wasn't sure how long her charm would last, after all, so if her cloud was broken she'd either end up failing or have to look for a new one quick. She was fairly certain the professor would have noticed if she recast her charm, even surreptitiously, so it was the cloud's fault. The cloud that apparently, as she was still staring up at it, had a sense of humor. Seeing as it chose right then to start pouring down rain, completely drenching her face and the bit of hair that was out in the open since her hood had slipped back slightly. She'd let out a giggle, though, as she realized that besides her unprotected face, the raindrops were bouncing off her cloak like they had for the professor. Awesome, she thought, looking back straight forward as she tried to dry her face off with the inside edge of her cloak.

Drying off was a lot easier once Professor Bellaire had stepped in again and vanished all the little baby rain clouds, and kendall used the respite to finish drying off her face. She left her hair wet, just because it would be way too complicated to dry it using her cloak, and she didn't feel like taking her wand out again yet. Wet hair didn't bother her anyway, and Abby wasn't around to glare at her for it right now either. Like the rude!Puff had been after her fun with the fountain in Diagon Alley. either way, it was still warm enough that wet hair didn't cause an issue, especially since half the others in the class were wet too, including some older students. Nobody could find fault in her, and besides, her charm had worked. Just not on the part that had been closest to the cloud when it had decided to storm.

And the explanation that had been given about what was next gave her pause. A hurricane?, she wondered. They'd gotten some big storms in Galway, but she wasn't aware of what a hurricane was. The description sounded both scary and interesting, though, and she thought about taking the professor up on the option to hide under the thatched hut. However, her curiosity was too strong, and besides, her charm had worked. She'd just have to remember not to look directly at the hurricane, and she should be fine. Except for the idea of wind and flying debris. Flying sand. Her ninja skills would work for dodging debris, but sand? She'd just have to try and keep her hood close around her face.

And she took her wand out to quietly cast the spell one more time, hopefully reinforcing her shield. "Protego Caelum." Hopefully I don't blow away.

ooc: Bear in mind that most well none of you should be able to remain on your feet after a while when this hurrican starts if you are not holding on to a coconut tree or something. Sand will be whipping at you, coconut may come flying as well as parts of the huts, get as creative as you like. There will of course be strong winds and rain so yeah..just have fun with this.
SPOILER!!: Hurricane Sophia

Before unleashing the hurricane on the students Professor Bellaire went over to the large hut where most of the younger ones were gathered and performed the protego caelum maxima charm. She would of course be staying under the hut with the younger ones, safe and sound. It was so terribly hard getting sand out of places she just didn't want to deal with that today.

She addressed those outside of the protective shield from where she was standing.

"If I were you I'd grab hold of a tree!" She warned. Giving them a fe seconds to scramble about Sophia unleashed the hurricane on them.

First there was a gentle enough breeze then it started getting stronger tree leaves start dancing in the wind and then the rain. The beautiful blue of the charmed sky is now dark grey almost black and the rain drops are now no longer drops but feel like bucket loads of water being poured down..[thats if you can feel it that is]. After a little while the once dancing trees will bow so low their leaves should be able to hit you or touch the ground, please be mindful of the flying coconuts and hut debris..dodge them if you can.

"Older students please ensure that the younger ones survive my class thank you."

As for Sir Nick, he could talk to her under the hut mhm.

She turned to the ones that were gathered under the hut. "Okay so one at a time, who's still having problems with casting this charm?"

Laura looked at the Professor and sighed there was one small problem with using a wand at the minute, SHE DIDN'T HAVE ONE. "Professor I don't have a wand, so how am I suppost to make the shield." Laura really wasn't happy about this, maybe she should have just skipped charms instead of coming without a wand after all she should have realised that charms would have involved using a WAND, oh she hated Alexa for this, she looked down at her feet, well this wasn't a good situation to be in, and well at least she hoped Professor Hadley was trying to mend her wand but she wasn't sure how good the wand would be when she got it back.

Suddenly Laura was hidding under the hut and grabbing hold of the neares thing there was to stop herself from being blown away it wasn't as if she couldn't do the spell it was the fact she didn't have a wand to do the spell with, it was so mean of Professor Bellaire to do this when she knew she had no wand, surely someone would have told her someone had broken Laura's wand in half, dodging the flying objects she then listen to the Professor as she asked if anyone is having trouble, she nearly freaked out and said there and then and said without a wand I am but she knew that would get her into serious trouble so instead she just repeated her sentance from earlier in case the Professor hadn't heard. "Professor you need a wand to cast a spell and since I have no wand, I am finding it hard." Laura wanted to leave now but knew she couldn't.

It was the strangest sensation where he can feel his heart pounding in his head, racing as if he was on a full sprint yet feeling his limbs go all numb and heavy as if they were covered in lead. He caught Vivi looking at him, he couldnt even muster a shake or a nod of his head, and it took a few gulps just to get his throat to un-dry "I-- I want to use the spell on my face... head..." he stammered back at her. Yes he knows what the Professor had just said, but such was his paralyzing fear of what was about to happen that his mind was galloping way ahead, going through each terrifying at least to him scenario and finding ways and means to avoid it. And it all boiled down to one thing-- wrap himself completely in the spell.

"Protego Caelum." he repeated the spell again, covering every inch of his shoes and his clothes. He glanced at his free hand. He didnt bring gloves!

SPOILER!!: Hurricane Sophia

And there it was-- the wind was picking up, the skies started to darken-- the storm was coming!

"Protego Caelum!" he uttered as he cast the charm on his free hand. Geez it was like wrapping his skin in cling wrap. Not really caring if his skin can breathe he cast the spell onto his face and wrapping his entire head. He must've looked like a freak mannequin or something.

He had just finished wrapping his wand hand with the spell when he felt a strong gust of wind whip against him to the side, losing his footing and slamming against the sand. Which freaked him out of course.

But there was no sand that filtered through, it was just there, suspended mere centimeters from his face. This is a good thing right? Sure, he'll appreciate this, after he dodges those large wilted coconut leaves hurtling his way....

When they were asked to practice the Charm, Beezus did so with utmost concentration. She's being extra careful with how she was handling Charms currently for there had been a few (numerous actually) instances where her wandwork almost killed her off and even bounded to drag other people with her too. Hence, the furrowed eyebrows with delicate focus and commitment to what she was doing.

Feeling as though she was ready to take on the cloud, she stepped under one, casted the Charm, and said the magic words. And her efforts paid off. Somehow, the charm she placed on her robes and boots repelled the water that only her face and hair got wet. Pssshh. She still got wet but whatever, she got the charm right!

As Professor Bellaire requested those who thought themselves ready, the brunette immediately scuttled off to the assembled group, giving her other fellow 'claws a wink as she did. Ravenclaws are always ready, hmm?

Bring on the storm!

Casting Protego Caleum on her clothes once more, Beezus fidgeted a bit on where she stood. Why, Professor Bellaire was giving off that mischievously look that meant nothing but trouble...for them.

And sand..And debris...and rainwater...and...

Hold on to what?

Not really processing what she had heard from the woman, Beezus just scooted quickly next to a tree, because she heard the word tree.

AND WHAT A GREAT IDEA IT WAS!

For in a few seconds, the wind, the rain had become stronger and she could feel herself swaying as it sent catastrophic breezes around them. And the sky! Her wonderful blue sky was now enveloped in what seemed like a thick gray, dark dust. Merlin, Merlin, she didn't ask for this!

Sand sprew around her legs before it had taken flight and was now almost leveled with her eyes. Almost instantly, Beezus shut her eyes to avoid getting sand inside it. And as she hugged the coconut tree she was standing beside just a tad while ago, she began squeaking like a little kid, "I don't wanna dieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!"

Not in this kind of state anyway..

Oh, and she was slowly losing grip on her savior tree...

Grab hold of a tree? *gulp*

Kurumi flailed for a moment with her wand in hand as she hurriedly cast Protego Caelum all over her clothing once more. And just in time as well.

Without too much of a warning, the skies darkened and slowly but surely the wind began to pick up. So THAT was what she meant by grab a palm tree... Hearing one last warning to not let the younger students die, Kurumi couldn't tell if the woman was trying to be funny or not, but Kurumi took commands to heart - a little too literally too. Just ask Carter during Gryffindor Quidditch practices.

Since she was standing near Sarah, Kurumi reached out and took the little lion's hand. "Hold on to my robes, alright," she said as the wind picked up even more, pushing Kurumi backwards in the sand.

And then the rain came...

Kurumi's spell was thankfully holding so she wasn't getting wet, but it didn't do much against the actual weight of the rain. While the wind was pushing her back, the rain was pushing her down and it was a reeeeeeeeeeeeeeally uncomfortable position. Kurumi's back ended up smacking into a tree, pinning her there for now, but she didn't let go of Sarah's hand.

Oh, hello there Beezus.

Kurumi had one of those deer-in-headlights sort of looks when she heard Beezus looooooooooong exclaimation. Younger student, right? Don't allow them to die. Got it. Mental salute to you professor.

"Be-------z-----us..." Kurumi muttered, her lips flapping all over the place like a dog with its head sticking out the window on a highway.

Protego Caelum. Protego Caelum. Protego Caelum.

It was okay, he had this! Theo continued to say the incantation in his head, over and over, and almost missed what the professor had said. Something about a tree?! He had a moment of freak out, because he knew the hurricane was coming, so he quickly clutched himself against the nearest coconut tree. BUT, he had still forgotten to use the spell over himself.

"P-P-Pro." Holding onto the tree was more important!

The hurricane came, causing a SQUEAK coming from little Theo. It took him off his feet immediately, but he had a good grip on the tree, so it wasn't like he was dying.

His wand probably died, though. It flung straight out of his hand and he didn't know where it went.

"I DROPPED MY WAND."

And with that moment of despair, a sea of sand decided to wallop him in the face. In his mouth, in his eyes, down his shirt, in his ears. Just don't let go, Theodore!

Yeah, he overestimated himself on this one. All this, just to impress Professor Bellaire.

Sarah held onto her prefects hand tightly, like she did when playing agame of 'Red Rover' with her cousins. It was just in time as the winds picked up and the rain came down. She felt as if she was a defenseless leaf during a storm. Thankfully Kurumi managed to hold on to a tree and Sarah tightened her hold. She was worried now about Kurumi losing her blood circulation, yet that was what Sarah thought. Yet she did not have such a tight, bone crunching grip like her cousin Gabi had, when she held onto your hand it was torture. And besides Sarah did not want Kurumi to have to go to the healer as Sarah had crushed her bones. "Thanks Kurumi! You are the Bestest!" she said full of meaning. Kurumi was the bested anyway!

Then she noticed Mr Grumpy(Theo) who seemed to be in a little trouble... Sarah did not want him to die or something and he was so defenceless. She therefore hastily cast a Protego Caelum at him. It may not be as strong as the one she had cast on herself, yet hopefully it would do. Anything was better then nothing, as his wand hand was bare, his wand seemed to have vacated.

Default Minnie

As the wind started to pick up, Sutton quickly cast "Protego Caellum," around herself. Looking around, she tried to find a tree to hold on to as Professor Bellaire had suggested, but apparently she and Minnie had picked a really bad place to stand on the beach. The nearest tree was yards away, and the wind was picking up quickly. There was, however, a large rock nearby. Sutton wasn't sure how easy it would be to hold onto, especially once it was wet with the rain, but at the moment it was their best shot.

Seeing that Minnie was practically frozen in fear, Sutton decided running was going to be way easier than trying to explain. She grabbed the girl by the hand and started running through the sand toward the large rock. Unexpectedly, a gust of wind ripped toward them, throwing sand in Sutton's face. She closed her eyes just in time. Before she could even recover from that, something very solid and round smashed into her back, right near her left shoulder blade, causing her to let go of Minnie's hand.

At least it wasn't hear wand arm.

Reaching the rock, Sutton dropped down and tried to reach her arms out around the rock. Letting out a cry of pain that she was sure no one could have heard over the wind, she with drew her left arm back near her body.

This was not good.

Okay so Ella was now totally freaking out inside...Blink.Blink. Grab hold of a tree? Sheesh! You didn't have to tell the third year twice. With a fleeting look at Sophie, she ran for the nearest coconut tree, dodging other students who were doing the same. Oh! And the charm! She'd better do it now! With one arm wrapped around a skinny coconut tree, the badger pointed her wand and...panicked. EEP! What was the spell again? Protego...Protego..."Protego Caelum!"

...DIDITWORK?

And then the wind picked up...slowly at first, and then all at once the small puff was flying. Wait? WHY was she flying? Okay so maybe not really but her feet were off the ground, arms wrapped around the coconut tree tightly. SQUEAK. This was bad, very bad.

And then the rains came...by the bucketful, it seemed. At first Ella's charm held, though it was as if she could feel this great weight pressing down on her. She watched with wide eyes as the others reacted to it as well, and the noise from the storm? It was deafening. Then suddenly, she was wet. Drip.Drip.Drip. OHMERLIN'SBEARD! Her shield was leaking! MEEP! Somebody call a plumber! Somebody? Anybody?

Hand...hand...hand...hand.... Kurumi had a hand that she really wanted to keep please...

First Daichi...now Sarah. Not that Kurumi really minded considering that she had a super special place in her little lion heart for the two younger students. But...still...hand back please? "Sarah...can you...um...use that grip on this tree?" Yeah?

And then there was Theo...AND WHY WAS NO ONE TRYING TO HELP HIM WITH HIS WAND?!

Right...no letting the younger students die. New mantra going through the seventh year's head, Kurumi slowly let go of Sarah's hand and put it on the tree while she sliiiiiiiiiiiid down the trunk of the tree so that she was sort of sitting on the ground. Lower center of gravity was a good thing, right?

"THEO! Di----d yoooooooou see wh-----ere it w-----ent?" Cue more lip flapping. And could she use other spells like Accio?! Gripping her wand tightly in her hand, Kurumi glanced over at the hut where Professor Bellaire was sitting.

"PROFESSOR! CAN WE USE OTHER SPELLS AS WELL?!"

Sarah nodded... it was no use talking over the wind. She reached out her arm and grabbed the tree... hopefully no coconuts would fall. She held onto it for dear life... She was never a tree hugger..until now. If the coconut fell on her, would she have a personality change? Apparently that happened when one was hit on the head.

Her hair seemed to be getting out of the braid she had put it in and now her brown hair was flying all over the face. It slapped her everywhere, yet Sarah was not ready to part one arm off the tree even a tiny bit. The grasp with both arms seemed strong. That was until her hair slapped against her beloved prefect's cheek... it was then that Sarah took one arm (the other arm was still holding on) and put her hair into the the tightest ponytail she could. She did not want it to hit her prefect again. "Sorry" she said to kurumi. Yet she hoped it was loud enough.

Ok Hannah had this! This would be a cake walk. No problem! Bring it on!!!

Hang on to a tree? GULP!

Hannah was starting to get nervous as the professor started explaining what was coming. Hannah had never expierenced a hurricane and she wasn't looking forward to doing that today. Don't let the younger students die? Hannah was only a third year...did that count as the younger students? Get a grip Lockwood!

Hannah moved close to a tree just in case she did need to hold on to one. "Protego Caelum!" she shouted! Never had she concentrated on a spell so hard because it had to work. She didn't want to die or make herself look like a fool. The winds started almost automatically. Ok this wasn't so bad. She could do this. She looked up towards the sky and the once beautiful blue had changed to an ugly, angry looking black. GUUUULP!

Then the sky busted open and rain the size of cats came pouring out. Hannah managed to stay dry, but that was about all that she managed to do. The winds picked up. Man they were like a 100x stronger. What was really going on? Hannah was pushed backwards and there went her thoery of standing next to a tree. It happened so fast that she did not even have time to respond. She reached her hand out trying to hold on to anything, anybody...something! "AHHHHH!!!" Things went south fast!

Nigel scrambled looking for a tree to hold on to. He could not find on that was already filled with his classmates. Wiping some sand out of his eyes. He tried to think about what to do. He knew if he jumped the wind would pick him up and throw him.

He did not want to go flying. Even though that would be awesome. He fell down on the sand thinking that laying low would help him with the wind. Throwing himself onto the ground. He feels some pointy thing stick into his stomach. He rolls over to find a wand somebody must have dropped. He puts in his robes. Thinking he would ask the class later who lost a wand.

OH, No. He feels the wind picking him put and now he is being flung in circles. It was fun for the first seconds. But now he be flung faster in circles. Having no idea where he was going.

"HELP, THIS IS NOT COOL!!"

Now all he wants to do is vomit, cry, and feel the nice soft sand.

Arts TRANSPONSTER!

Sophie believed she was ready... kind of. Ella's voice made her more nervous, because it was like the girl was trying to convince herself of what she was saying as well. Eep.

When professor Bellaire went to the hut, Sophie braced herself. She was going to get ready for the worse. She made sure her spell was on, and cast it again over the cloak she was wearing, just in case.

It all started alright. The wind... the rain... Sophie heard professor BEllaire telling them to hold onto a tree and she wondered if it was necessary. But when the wind and water started to come stronger, Sophie almost ran to a coconut tree and hugged it with all her might.

MEEERLIIIIN WHAT WAS THIS?!!!?!?!?

The third year was SO EXCITED because that was all because of a spoell professor Bellaire had casted and IT WAS SO POWERFUL AND AWESOME!!! She wanted to learn it but GAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH IT WAS TOOPOWERFULHELPHELP!!!

Sophie was still wrapped in her cloak, but the wind blew SOO MUUCH, even making the trees bend down, that the hood that was over her head flew back and her hair was now waving around and slapping her face along with the sand.

"OW!" She yelped but as soon as she opened her mouth a LOT of sand got in. Before she choked, she started coughing really hard and spat out most of it. Aaaaaaaaaaaaargh!!! There wasn't even a way to pull the hood back over her head because she might FLY AWAY like poor Nigel...!

MERLIN! NIGEL!

Sophie squinted her eyes, trying to look around and see if someone was going to heeelp the poor kid! HE WAS FLYING!! "SOMEONE-" PFFFT more sand!!! The brunette lowered her head but tried to look up again. Her hair and cloak were ALL OVER the place and she was having a really hard time holding on! AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

This was fun, though. Because she knew nothing truly bad would happen to them. They were in a classroom... there was a professor there... and prefects. So they were fine.

Right...?

BUT SOMEONE HELP NIGEL!!

GULP.

He was nervous. Surely the Professor won't the hurricane kill them, right?

Grab a tree? She said they need to grab a tree? Okayy. Messer looked around for a vacant coconut tree. There's gentle breeze coming, he need to cast the spell ASAP. "Pro-Pro..Protego" What's the incantation again? Now he's freaking out. "Protego Caelum!" he muttered the incantation followed by the proper wand movement.

After he managed to cast the spell, Messer quickly grabbed the coconut tree and hold it tight like his life depends on it. Well, actually his life IS depends on the coconut tree. If he lose his grip he's would be rolling around the sand like an anteater.

Before he knows it, the wind got stronger the coconut tree he was holding to, start dancing in the wind. He feel likes his grip start to loosen because of the heavy rains so he put his both of legs around the tree. Now he feels like a monkey climbing a coconut tree during the hurricane. How he wished that he has a rope so he could tie himself in the tree. Someone please make it go away!
