| | The Hourglasses
Across from the main doors stand four giant hourglasses filled with gemstones. The stones in the bottom indicate the current number of house points each house has earned so far. |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Xavieria Bole Graduated | Dee/Hottie!Edric ♥ Touch Lass! | MOON OF MY LIFE | Lemon's Winner | Inside Kitty Taryn stood silently, hands clasped behind her back as she glanced at the hourglasses curiously. How was it that nearly every term started out with usually all of the houses in negatives? She so liked seeing the pretty emerald green gemstones dropping into the bottom of the glass and filling up.
Though the other houses had equally pretty stones, as of now, no house had ANY to show. What a pity. |

Though the other houses had equally pretty stones, as of now, no house had ANY to show. What a pity. Despite the fact that Gryffindor was in negative digits like all other three Houses, Edric couldn't help but feel a teeny bit proud that at least his House was closest to positive numbers. Though, really. All the Houses were an embarrassment to every Hogwarts student at this point.
After examining the hourglass for Gryffindor, Edric allowed his gaze to wander over the other three once more, pausing by the Slytherin hourglass as he caught sight of a girl simply standing there, looking at it as if expecting the points to magically begin building up until all other Houses wouldn't stand a chance to compete.
BUT.
Sadly for the girl, no points were magically appearing out of nowhere, and Slytherin was doing almost as bad as Ravenclaw, though not quite as horribly as Hufflepuff. What happened to those Puffs anyway?
Feeling a little smug because his House happened to be the least pitiful of all four, Edric couldn't help but open his mouth, "So is Slytherin on a race against Ravenclaw to see which can be worse than Hufflepuff, or are you snakes just really bad at both losing and making the most points, too?" 'Cause even if they weren't as bad as the Puffies there, they were nowhere close to Gryffindor.
Edric wasn't really much into House pride, to be honest, but he was much into trolling and annoying, so there you have him.

Apparently he was speaking to her.
Taryn couldn't help but roll her eyes. "Spoken like a true obstinate Gryffindor. Congratulations." To be honest, she wasn't much into the whole HOUSE PRIDE thing either, but she was glad to be a Slytherin. "Riddle me this, Gryffindor, are you all so eager to get your tongues cut out?" Because.. well, at the rate he was going, she could TOTALLY see that happening in his future. She eyed the taller boy for a moment and then laughed, not annoyed really. Boys would be boys and all. "As far as I'm concerned, as long as we're ahead of Hufflepuff, we're fine." |

"As far as I'm concerned, as long as we're ahead of Hufflepuff, we're fine." Edric flashed the mystery girl a heartless and obviously fake smile - I'm not sure he knows how to do genuine smiles yet - as the girl congratulated him. However, as she continued, now mentioning something about the boy getting his tongue cut out, Edric furrowed his brows. "I don't see why anything like that would ever happen." Because he had no idea the evil little jerk he was half the time.
No, really, he didn't.
But he might've known this time.
What the girl said next, though, did slightly amuse the not-really-easily-amused boy. Ganging up on the Hufflepuffs? Sounded like a plan to him. Even if his best friends had been in Hufflepuff. Actually, that's the reason he would gladly pick on them.
"I think as long as Hufflepuff's still around, the rest of us just look like overachievers," commented the boy, his eyes absentmindedly falling upon Hufflepuff's pitiful hourglass. Sorry badgers, but for that moment you just existed to make all the other Houses look good.

Sorry badgers, but for that moment you just existed to make all the other Houses look good. Taryn was definitely amused. "Of course you wouldn't." That was the point. Gryffindors rarely realized how obnoxious they were. There were a few exceptions of course, mostly her ex-boyfriend friend August.
AH! There we go! She laughed in agreement, "There's something we can agree on." She figured that wouldn't be the case for the most part, but it was a good thing, right? At least the boy was now talking some sense. "We might as well all be Ravenclaws." Taryn wouldn't mind that, really. |

Edric nodded as the girl before him announced that they could agree on picking on the poor, innocent Huffies. Perhaps they weren't being fair. There were no Hufflepuffs around to defend their House pride. But
who cares.
As the girl then went on to comment on them all becoming Ravenclaws, Edric laughed humourlessly - another thing he didn't quite know how to do genuinely, everything about him was rather robotic, really. Yeah, he obviously didn't like the idea of being moved into the Ravenclaw House. "Or we might as well be Gryffindors. We do have, after all, the most points." Or, at least, the negative number that was closest to 0. Which was NOTHING. But better than less than nothing, which is what everyone else had.
Again Edric was just teasing. You'd never catch him celebrating or moping at an end-of-term feast. Actually, he didn't even know who won House Cup last term. He preferred to avoid the crowds.
Anyway.
... "Who are you?"
Because that's how Edric Theodore Barlow went about introductions. Who. Are. YOU. Like people just owed him this information and he wasn't giving out his until he knew he was dealing with a real human being and not an elf in disguise.

Taryn was aware it wasn't quite fair to pick on the poor Hufflepuff, Merlin knew they got enough crap already just for existing... but, hello! Slytherin.
She glanced towards the hourglasses again as the points changed. It seemed her fellow housemates had a earned enough points so that they were at least out of the negatives. "You know it's bad when you're leading with NO points." Well, at least the term was still new and all. Then, she glanced back at him. For some reason the way he asked that question was SO funny, she laughed. "I'm Taryn." DUH. Hehehehe. She raised an eyebrow at him, "Who are YOU?"
Who. ARE. You?! [/Caterpillar] |

Who. ARE. You?! [/Caterpillar] Edric turned his eyes away from the girl before him and followed her gaze toward the hourglasses. His eyebrows raised. WELL WHADDAYAKNOW. Looks like the lions were back on top! The boy couldn't help smirking to himself. He wasn't sure why he was feeling so competitive about something he'd never cared about before. Perhaps it was because it was his last term. It would be tragic if he ended up graduating from the House with the least points.
As the blonde girl then began to laugh, Edric turned back to her with furrowed brows. Wut. What was so funny? Slytherins, always so mocking.
But then the girl was introducing herself and asking the Gryffindor boy for his own name. It was at that moment, as she asked him who he was, that he realized how ridiculous his earlier question had really sounded. Oh.
"I'm Edric. Seventh year Gryffindor," shared the boy simply. "A few more months and I'll be free at last," he added, more to himself than to the girl. He was pretty eager to get out of the castle for good. Not that he didn't like Hogwarts, but... he didn't really like anything at all.

Taryn could quite possibly be an interesting thing to watch. She did like the pretty stones moving about, the guessing of which house would earn or lose points next. Maybe she was silly to find it interesting, but she was quite sure she could watch for quite a while.
And now Gryffindor was leading.
Ah, well. Hopefully not for long.
Of course he was a Gryffindor. "Well, Edric, Seventh Year Gryffindor. What are your plans for when you are free of Hogwarts at last?" Surely, if he was already counting down, he had plans, yes? |

Walking by the hourglasses, wand in hand, Kurumi paused for a moment and just sort of looked at them for a moment. Soon she wouldn't be looking at these or worrying about house points or, well, anything having to do with Hogwarts besides her own memories. It was crazy how quickly the term was going by. How soon she would be leaving and off to university in Romania and...well her and Lewis still needed to discuss that.
House points...right...homework...she needed to do just a little more practicing of Petrificus Digitirus and then she was done.
Deciding to sit down here and work on essentially petrifying her fingers, Kurumi flexed her left hand before taking out her wand with her right. She pondered for a moment whether she should try to do her joints individually again or not, but that had ended up freaking her out so it would probably be best to just do her entire hand at once. Kurumi reached into her bag for one of her textbooks and held it in her left hand. If the spell went right she wouldn't be able to hold on to it anymore, so this was an easy test. "Petrificus Digitirus," she said after taking a deep breath. Sure enough, her hand went rigid and she dropped the book to the group. Small smile on her lips, Kurumi flicked her wand at her hand to cast Finite and returned her hand to normal.
Once she had picked up her book, she looked over her shoulder at the hour glasses. Soon she would be gone, but not now. Best to make what time she had left count.
