What Went Through Their Head?
The first lesson focussed on Dreams and interpreting their meaning of what may happen to the dreamer in the near future, what omens are present and the rewards or negatives that accompany them. Everyone dreams right? Ever wonder what famous people or figures in history dreamed about?
Your assignment is to write 10 inches (3 paragraphs, 5 sentences per paragraph) decribing a dream a famous figure in history, Muggle or Magical, had before an event they took part in; for example, Harry Potter's dream before the day he vanquished Voldemort during the Battle of Hogwarts. In this dream I want you to have at least 3 symbols found in the dream dictionary that relate the the outcome of the event the dreamer takes place in later. Please list those seperately so I can go back and check your work.

FAQ My Fire Crab is a boy!
This isn't a question, but your Fire Crab is not a boy. To determine the gender of the creature, just take a closer look at its tail! Males have much longer, wider tails. Females have shorter, stubbier tails. You seriously want me to name that thing?
That thing is not a thing; it's a Fire Crab. And you have a name, don't you? You never told us what a Fire Crab eats.
This is also not a question, but I know! Fire Crabs live on the land, and are omnivorous. Some of the plants that make up the Fijian-esque stall also hold fruit, and if you dig deep enough in the dirt, I'm sure you could find some worms. But I don't know how to bathe a Fire Crab. Won't I get burned and DIE!?
Follow these few steps on how to bathe a Fire Crab, and you will have nothing to worry about! - Step One:
Fill the bucket up with enough water to make sure the rear of the Fire Crab is completely covered. While letting soak for several minutes, lightly rub the shell with your fingertips to feel for any soft spots or cracks. (Soaking will allow any buildup, caused by its flames, to loosen) - Step Two:
With a soft bristled brush, gently scrub the entire shell using a light, circular motion. Pay special attention to any areas with buildup, mostly around their colored jewels and under the rim of the shell. Be careful not to brush areas covered in scales. They tend to be sensitive. - Step Three:
Gently massage the Fire Crab shell, under body, legs and tail with a soft, wet washcloth. This will loosen most soil. Don't worry if small flakes are released from the shell! This is just normal shedding. Rinse the Fire Crab to remove flakes. - Step Four:
Rinse the Fire Crab thoroughly. Closely inspect the shell for any irregularities, such as softening, excessive flaking, cracks, unusual discharge, or discolorations. Discoloration would occur on the jewels. - Step Five:
While still wet, place the Fire Crab back in the cage and cover with the cage with a dark colored cloth (the ones that covered it earlier). Rinse out supplies.
How exactly, am I supposed to patch up a wound?
Very good question! First of all, you need to determine what exactly you're patching up. These particular Fire Crabs were brought in right from the wild, and some, I am sure, managed to get away from poachers. Take good care to look at every part of your Fire Crab's shell. Sometimes the littlest injury can be the worst. - Cracks - Clean the wound thoroughly. If you're not sure, just clean it again! Cracks in Fire Crab shells are the most common of problems. And it can also be the most dangerous. Once the wound is clean, apply a thick layer of antiseptic cream over it, then top it with a piece of tape. The tape will make sure the cream seeps deep down into the wound, and protects it from getting dirty again.
- Soft - Move the Fire Crab around in the cage until you come across the brightest spot. The creature is just low in calcium, and a little bit of heat will fix it right up! If you'd rather not move it, though, the cabinet in the back of the building is a good place to go. Calcium enriched bones, that the Fire Crab will chew on, can be found inside.
- Discoloration - Also caused by low calcium, first follow steps located under Soft.
- Discharge - Most likely caused by a crack in the Fire Crab's shell, make sure the area is thoroughly cleaned, then follow the steps listed under Cracks.
*If done correctly, your Fire Crab should show signs of improvement the very next day!

If you have ever wondered about the mysteries of time or are eager to explore the cycle of duration, then this is the perfect opportunity for you! All students are invited to a seminar hosted by Sherman Clark, Hogwarts Alumni and full time Orb Specialist in the Department of Mysteries at the British Ministry of Magic. Sherman also specializes in duration cycles and time as well as prophetic orbs, and he has brought to Hogwarts one of the most prized possessions of the Time Chamber.
This class is open to students of all years and houses, so hurry along! Wands are optional, as the only materials needed are a smile and an eager mind!
The seminar will begin at approximately 12AM GMT (7PM EST) on the 16th of October and will end on the 23rd of October, at the latest. Characters aren't required to bring any materials or wear anything specific, since all needed items are being provided, but feel free to elaborate if you wish.

Transfiguration Homework Two For your second assignment of term you need to use the spell 'Summitto Vestis' and create a pair of trousers/a skirt/shorts using rubbish bags.
Your homework is to design one of the above that will be for the finished version of your outfit. Once you have completed it for homework it WILL NOT be able to be changed. Your tops will be available for you to use as inspiration. All your mannequins have been placed in another room along the sixth floor corridor for you to use as in class, and a pile of rubbish bags will be provided as well. Homework Assignment:
Make yourself into a villain and write an essay one full parchment long (Five Paragraphs of four or more complete sentences each) about yourself. You must include the following information about your villain self:
* Villain Name
* Villain Power or Talents
* Your Superhero Arch Enemy and why you hate them so much (Can be a real superhero or one that you make up)
* Colors
* Describe what your logo or symbol looks like
* A Brief Background of your History/Legacy
Extra Credit:
Using a graphics program of your choice design a logo or symbol for yourself as a villain. Have fun with this and be very creative.

Part One: Create a decoding system of your own and give it to a friend to try and solve. The decoding system could use numbers - Chaldean or Pythagorean or some other number system - or letters or symbols even... whatever you want. The Cryptogram/System can be as easy or difficult as you want, depending on the year of your character. For instance, a seventh year should be creating something more complicated than a first year =).
* Minimum of three RP posts for full credit, THOUGH if you don't want to RP it / don't have time, you can just submit your system/cryptogram in your homework, but you will get less credit.
Part Two: Write a paragraph on how you think decoding messages will relate to practical curse-breaking. Minimum three full sentences. Also, I asked for a paragraph, not an essay
Part One is worth up to 15 points. Part Two is worth up to 5 points.
