This corridor is a simple, airy hallway with openings to allow in as much sunshine as possible and fresh air. It is an excellent transition from the school to the grounds as it exits out into the courtyard.

Gideon heard voices raised down the corridor, the open airway allowing for echoing and catching his attention. The prefect looked around for the source, spotting a couple of Hufflepuffs and a Ravenclaw. "Excuse me," he remarked, taking his leave of his traveling companion to head over to take a closer look. It might just be something he needed to look into as a prefect. Sure enough as he got closer, he spotted wands raised and watched just in time to see the body bind spell being shot from one of them.
"ENOUGH!" he exclaimed rushing closer to get in the midst of things. "Everyone...lower yer wands!"
Laura suddenly saw Oakey shot a spell at her and before she could do anything to defend herself, the spell had hit her she was suddenly frozen solid and she fell to the ground she had let go of her wand before the spell had hit for some strange reason.
Laura wanted to say help but no matter what she tried to do she couldn't move, this was over, no way was she going to forgive Oakey for this, she wasn't even going too talk to him anymore, she was going to ignore him but for now she just hoped she hadn't hurt herself when she fell, she had a nasty feeling she had broken her arm when she fell onto it but she couldn't feel a thing at the minute, hopefully someone could help her.
Nigel was shocked when Oakey cast the spell at Laura. She even dropped her wand when she fell. At least it did not break. Before he went over to see how Laura was he needed to calm down Oakey.
"Oakey it's over now. You don't need to spell her anymore. I just going to go over an see how she is" Nigel said calmly. He did not want Oakey to spell him if he ran over to Laura.
He then hears Prefect Gideon yelling at them to put their wands down. He was still going over to Laura anyway beause it looked like she broke her arm. "Prefect Gert, I'm going to check if Laura broke her arm or not"
He walks calmly over to Laura, picks up her wand, pulls out his wand, points it at her, and says "Finite". Once the spell was off her it did appeared as if one of her arms was broken. He holds her up from the good arm side and asks her
"Laura, do need to go to the hospital wing?"

It would seem like Oakey had cast the Full Body Bind Curse on Sophie as well, for she froze on spot when she heard a much older guy's voice coming from somewhere.
She quickly turned around, finally letting go of Nigel's arm - as he also went over to where Laura was - and raised both of her hands to show the older boy she was noooot holding her wand and she had not cast spells on anyone. She wasn't in trouble, right? Right????
As the Gryffindor Prefect got closer, Sophie's gaze followed him and she blinked a couple of times. They were in troooubleeee...! Nooooooooooo!!!!

Oakey looked as he saw his spell hit dead on. Dropping Laura to the ground. He stood there motionless wand still out until Gideon came marching in demanding them all to put their wands down. Seeing as he was the only one with it out at the moment Oakey holstered it and turned facing Gideon. "Gideon!" Oakey practically yelled. "I-Laura! She was gonna stupefy me!" he jabbed his finger down at the Mean Girl who had kept on insulting Felicity.

Laura suddenly felt happy that she could move again, but the pain in her arm was hurting so much but she wasn't going to see the healer. "I'm f..." Laura started to say but tears where pouring down her face, Oakey had cast a spell on her but she hadn't done a thing too him, even though she was angry she would never had cast a spell on him.
"I'm fine." Laura lied she wasn't going to see the healer, she would let the arm mend on it's own, She wanted to go and sit on her bed and cry she was really confused and upset now.

He had certainly gotten the groups attention.
Gideon listened to the Ravenclaw speak, clearly registering who he was even though he himself wasn't sure of ever meeting him. No bother...there was no sense in wondering about that now. "Very well," the seventh year said, about to stop him using the wand but he stayed silent since the boy was simply taking the spell of the fallen girl.
And than Oakey, the one out of the group he did know somewhat, turned towards him trying to explain in his defense. Gideon shook his head. "Thats no excuse. You shouldn't be firing spells or really using much magic in the corridors . Any of you. " Now if only he could decide what to do next. Professor Hadley seemed the best bet seeing as most of those involved including Oakey the spell caster were Hufflepuff.
His attention was turned however as the injured girl...Laura...had gotten up and rushed behind him as if seeking protection from him. She was clearly upset, having thought he briefly had seen tears. And then her words of fear clearly cemented it. "Its okay...yer safe," Gideon tried to assure her while his back was still turned, not wanting to really look that much away from the others. "As long as yer really are fine." He would hate for her to be hiding an injury or something.
Gideon awaited her response, nodding as she chose to head outside more. "Very well," he said figuring to describe how to get where she wanted to go. The way not too hard and there were certainly worse places in the school to get lost in then where they both currently were. She smiled then...before her expression brightened for some reason unknown to the prefect but he didn't think anything of it.
About to speak, the seventh year stopped at her question. Him accompany her...or rather she accompany him on his wanderings. "Nae...I don't mind," Gideon remarked with slight a one-armed shrug. "My name's Gideon by the way." If they were gonna walk together they might as well know each other's names.

"Good." Even if he did mind, she would have dragged him along with her anyway. Gideon? That was an interesting name and he had an interesting accent as well.. Scottish? "I like your accent. Where are you from?" Abby asked, curiously. Oh, right. She forgot to introduce herself. "Abby Hastings." She gave him a charming smile.. which slowly turned into a frown when she heard people talking rather loudly..
The girl followed Gideon down the corridor and found a couple kids who had their wands pointed at each other.. and a spell being shot from one. She raised an eyebrow and watched the Prefect deal with the kids. Heh. She was pretty sure those kids were going to get in some serious trouble. Magic wasn't allowed outside the classrooms, right?
The girl seemed okay.. even if she seemed scared and hid behind Gideon. Scared about what? It didn't look like the boy was going to be doing any more spell-casting for now. Abby pulled the girl away from behind Gideon's back and gave her a small smile. "If you're okay, why don't you head back to the dormitory?" The Prefect will have one less person to worry about, right? See? Abby could be helpful at times. At least, she was trying. This wasn't something she was used to.

Laura had to hide this injury the healer had told her she wouldn't heal her if she got injured but it was hard when the girl touched her bad arm.
"OU..." Laura winced but then changed the saying. "Are you sure it's safe?" Laura pulled free from the girl and hid straight back behind the Prefect boy, he was sure to not let Oakey hate him. "He...he lies, I had lowered my wand by the time the spell hit me and I wasn't ever going to jinx him." Laura couldn't help crying she was very shaken up. "You'll protect me right?" Laura asked the Prefect.
Gwen was once again making her way along the corridor to the courtyard, thinking about where she should be heading to. She had already gone for a walk the previous day to see what has changed around the grounds, and the only place where she hadn’t been yet was the lake. So that’s where she was willing to go. As she was walking along the corridor, holding the sketchbook in her hand, the Ravenclaw gave a quick look around to see if there was anyone she knew here. Since none of her friends were around, Gwendolyn decided not to spend any more time there... but something caught her eye.
From the angle where she was standing, she could see a part of the courtyard and the columns of the corridor. Hmm. She could come up with a good sketch here... The fifth year flipped the pages of her sketchbook rapidly. She only stopped when she came across a blank page, and then immediately started scribbling something.
When she raised her eyes from the drawing, in order to examine one of the columns more carefully, Gwen noticed that someone was blocking her view. ‘Excuse meee’, she said on a quite cold tone, trying to get the person’s attention. ‘Could you please move a bit?!’, she gestured with her hand in which she held the quill to the right.
His idea to find some fresh air was definitely a good one especially now that the weather was quite good.
Inhale. Exhale. Inhale. Exhale.
The light breeze was making him relax, Messer shut his eyes, he was almost fall asleep but a girl voice saved him from the humiliation being asleep while standing in the corridor. Move?"Ohh. Yeah. Sorry." The third year quickly move from his spot and stood beside the girl. "Are you an artist?" He never meet an artist in Hogwarts before. "I'm sorry. Where's my manner. I'm Messer." he was about to over his hand to shake but he realized that the girl's hand already full so he gave the girl a 'Hello' nod instead.

After the quite rude way she had told the younger student to move, Gwen just expected him to go away, or simply take a few steps to the right. But no. He was apologizing for blocking her view. And then started talking to her. Gwendolyn had no idea what his name was, but she could guess the house. That behaviour-
It just screamed Hufflepuff.
‘It’s fine’, she said, once again kind of curtly. The Ravenclaw was planning on returning to her sketch, when she heard him say something else. Artist? That made her want to laugh. ‘I wouldn’t say that’, the fifteen-year-old replied. Although the people who usually saw her drawing immediately assumed that she was so talented, Gwen didn’t really take it seriously. She looked back at her sketch, which wasn’t looking like anything much yet. Just a few random lines. She’d have to work on the proportions first. Taking the quill back in her hand, the girl started working on her drawing.
Scribble. Scribble. Scribble.
As the younger student introduced himself, the Ravenclaw raised her yes from the sketchbook and looked back at him. ‘I’m Gwen’, she said with a small smirk on her face.
Oakey, Gideon, Laura, Nigel and Abigail are all here x)
Sophie kept her hands in the air while the Gryffindor Prefect dealt with the others. Since he didn't accuse her of anything, she lowered her hands and turned her head back and forth as Laura and Oakey tried to explain themselves. Or... Oakey tried to explain what had happened and Laura hid behind the much older boy. And nooowww there was an older girl too! Were they being that loud??
Merlin... the older girl told Laura to go to the dormitory... did that mean the others were in trouble? Was Sophie free to go as well?? Blink. Blink. They would probably want the others to explain better what had actually happened...
She'd better get this over with then.
"Um... mister." She didn't know the Gryffindor Prefect's name, so, yeah. "It wasn't their fault. I mean, they were arguing about... things..."Poker face."...and both of them got really mad. The spell was... an accident." It was, right???? Sophie eyed Oakey, wishing it had indeed been an accident.
At least her housemate wouldn't try anything stupid now... there were older kids there... r-right???? o____o Sophie stepped closer to the Prefect boy as well. Just... in case.

Mom says I have no sense of direction, so I packed my bags and right.
Oakey was getting really irritated with how everyone was pointing out that he was the only one who had cast a spell in this confrontation. No one really saw Laura about to cast Stupefy except him! That wasn't fair at all, in the end he would be the only one getting in trouble.
He glared at Laura as she spat her lies from behind Gideon. He didn't need to act like an ickle firstie and hide behind prefects. "I'm not lying!"
Oakey shot back at Laura gripping his hands tightly. "I was defending myself, and that's the truth. Laura provoked me, she pulled her wand on me first." He looked back at Gideon. The look of honesty all over his face. If there was one lesson learned it wasn't that you shouldn't cast spells at each other with a Prefect in earshot. It was that Oakey couldn't lie! His attempts to keep Felicity a secret from Laura were feeble at best. "I can't lie." He finally admitted.
He turned his head as everyone seemed to be worried about Laura and her broken arm. This could have all been avoided if she had not pulled her wand on him first.

He did not want Oakey to get into too much trouble. But it did appear that he broke Laura's arm.
He looked as the older hufflepuff, talking to the Prefect, tried to grab Laura's broken arm and Nigel winced thinking about the pain.
But it looked like she was afraid of Oakey right now and was using the Prefect as protection.

"Dunfermline... Scotland," Gideon had managed to get out to answer the older girl before dealing with the younger students. He hadn't quite expected her to follow him but there probably wasn't any harm in her presence. Especially seeing as the others weren't causing trouble once he had stopped them. As she....Abby pulled the girl away from behind her, he almost stepped in. "Easy there..." She didn't need to be forced around.
The prefect nodded at the younger Hufflepuff's questions. "Aye I will. But I'm sure its safe regardless," he remarked looking to her but catching Oakey out of the corner of his eye. "Especially seeing as I doubt Oakey here would want more trouble, lest Professor Hadley get to know of it." Right....he mused to himself looking to the boy now. It wasn't like he as a prefect could give punishment.
I'm watching you. Once is an accident or in defense. Second time is certainly not.
Unless of course Gideon actually witness the girl threaten him for real to prove the boy's case.
"...Gert," he supplied as one of the bystanders spoke up in defense of both of them and Oakey once more tried to stick up for himself. "That might be, though even accidents have consequences at times. What might have happened had she been more hurt?" Or I or anyone else for that matter hadn't come along and you yerself couldn't stop either of them and it escalated into something worse?" Like a duel between the two Badgers.
Gideon himself wasn't sure just who to believe fully, the expression that Oakey couldn't lie coming from his own lips was not set in stone. Even if the older boy wasn't aware of any other troubles he may have caused in the past. It wasn't his call on what should be done but seeing as all wands were currently away, he figured on one possible course of action.
"Perhaps we should all move along," Gideon finally suggested, figuring to have the rest leave and then maybe get Laura out of his protection once they were gone.

Alyssa happened to be running her laps around the castle grounds when she first heard some people quarrelling but they were hidden from her sight. As she rounded the corner, she realized that it was Oakey and Laura who were doing the arguing while Sophie was standing there with another boy trying to separate them. Alyssa quickly picked up speed when she saw both Laura and Oakey whip out their wands.
Her first urge was to whip out her wand and disarm both of them but she knew that she was too far. She just hoped that both of them would be able to keep their tempers in check. But then as she got closer to them, she saw Oakey point his wand at Laura and cast a spell sending her falling to the ground.
"NO OAKEY!! LAURA!!" Alyssa ran as fast as she could and was glad to see other older students approach the group. The Gryffindor Prefect, Gideon was among one of them. She sighed her relief. Gideon would know what to do.
Alyssa watched as Laura managed to stand up and was using Gideon to hide behind like she was afraid of Oakey. She couldn't believe that Oakey had actually used his wand on Laura. She finally reached the group just as Gideon told everyone to break up and leave.
"Laura are you okay?" Alyssa asked with concern, breathing heavily from her last 400 yards sprint to reach the group. The younger girl was like a little sister to her and she was worried the way Laura was holding her arm.

Laura couldn't believe what had happened and now Oakey was glaring at her, she was really upset now, she hadn't done anything wrong had she, okay so maybe she took out her wand but she wouldn't ever use it on anyone, that was against the rules.
Laura looked up when she heard someone called her name, she wanted to say hi to Alyssa but well she didn't want too move from behind this big guy. "Alyssa... Quick here." Laura didn't want to see her get hurt by nasty Oakey.
Laura suddenly sat down behind the older students and started to cry, she was really upset. "He...he... he Jinxed me." Laura really didn't like this. "I want.. to... go home." Laura wanted her mother, she would know what to do in a situation like this. "Mr, make him leave." Laura really was worried he would jinx her again.
Mom says I have no sense of direction, so I packed my bags and right.
Oakey looked down at his feet as Gideon began to explain that things could have gotten much more worse if he hadn't intervened or if nobody else was nearby to keep this from getting out of hand.
The Gryffindor Prefect was right, and Laura was lucky have only hurt her arm. "I'll be going then." Oakey said to Gideon and to no one else. They all seemed preoccupied with helping Laura the innocent victim in this squabble. He stuffed his hands into his pocket and looked back.
He didn't feel like walking alone anymore. He wanted to take someone with him now. He looked at each of them except Laura. He couldn't quite place the older Hufflepuff girls name, but he had seen her in the common room and in classes. Alyssa seemed to be focused on Laura and angry with Oakey. Sophie must still be mad with him about the whole boxing telescope thing, and Gideon would probably need to stay and help Laura to the Evil Healer, HA serves her right to go and see that woman!
Then there was Nigel the young Ravenclaw boy. Oakey figured he was his best bet to go on a calming walk with. So he turned back around and snagged Nigel by the arm. "Nigel," Oakey said demandingly. "We're going for a walk." he dragged the Ravenclaw to the entrance of the Courtyard.

Nigel patiently stand were he was hoping he could leave soon. He was sure that the Prefect and the other older students would take care of Laura's broken arm and it seemed like nobody was getting in to trouble. Nigel was now ready to leave but was not sure if he could.
When he hears Oakey saying he was going to leave. Nigel was thinking now everybody could leave. All Nigel wanted to do was go back to the castle, into the common room, and take a nap.
Then all of a sudden he felt a hand close on his arm. Uh-Oh. He turns and hears Oakey demand that they were going on a walk. Nigel was not sure what this was all about. But he was sure it wasn't good. Okay, stay calm and see what this is all about, Nigel thought.
He at first was being dragged by Oakey to the courtyard. But then he started to catch up and started walking with him. Wondering what he wanted to talk about. Nigel stayed calm and asked
"Okay, Oakey. What do you want to talk about?"

"Okay, Oakey. What do you want to talk about?"
A good distance away from the group surrounding Laura Oakey turned around released Nigel's arm."I just thought we'd to know each other better"
Oakey said with a forced smile. Maybe if he took Nigel under his wing he could keep the young Ravenclaw from turning out crazy like half of his house had already turned out. Plus he needed to do something to take his mind of Laura and going on a walk alone wasn't going to do it now. "Why don't we go play mini golf?" Oakey suggested, "I heard the new Groundskeeper set that up, and I wanted to test it."
What is this?? Why did Alyssa come screaming after everything was done??? Sophie couldn't help but thinking the girl was kind of strange... she raised one eyebrow as her housemate reached them and started to sort of take care of Laura.
Good, because Sophie wasn't sure what she thought about the whole situation. They were both wrong, in her opinion, so she wouldn't side any of them. Merlin, why is this relationship stuff SO complicated. She shook her head after the thought. Maybe Carigan was right after all... maybe being a crazy cat lady was the best option to everyone. Well, at least to Sophie, Laura, Ella and, obvioulsy, Carigan. Maybe they could even live close to one another and be crazy cat neighbors!
Oh wait, but the commotion wasn't finished yet. Sophie turned her attention back to the Gryffindor Prefect and nodded at his words. Thank goodness they weren't in trouble this time! The third year looked around as the others started going on with their own lives. Oakey dragging Nigel away, Alyssa taking care of Laura and well, eventually the older kids would leave as well.
What other option she had then? Sophie turned around on her heels and started walking in the same direction Oakey and Nigel had. WAITNO! She frowned and changed directions. She was also going to the grounds, but noootttttt with crazy Oakey!

"Sure". Nigel said not really hearing what Oakey was saying. "Wait, This school has a mini golf course?" Nigel was confused. He did not know how a school could have a golf course. But this was Hogwarts after all.
Nigel was fine with getting to know Oakey. As long as he did not do anything crazy. But Nigel had know idea what to expected from all these new teachers and a new groundskeeper. Nigel knew felt it was time for some friendly conversation to get Oakey's mind off Laura.
"So what's your feeling on the new groundkeeper?"

What did he think of the new Groundskeeper? "Well, at first I didn't think I was gonna like him," Oakey stated truthfully. He wasn't going to explain to Nigel about how he believed Mr.Gibbins to be a job stealer. "He's kind of a mess though."
He figured Nigel was going to go down with him to Mini Golf but he still grabbed his arm once more and lead the way down the grounds to go play.

"Laura are you okay?" Alyssa asked with concern, breathing heavily from her last 1/2 mile sprint to reach the group. The younger girl was like a little sister to her and she was worried the way Laura was holding her arm.

More yelling, this time from someone running towards them. Alyssa...Gideon remembered her from more than one class and a few instances were she tended to overstep herself like that herbology assignment with Kacie. Was this to be one of them? The prefect kept an eye out as he waited for the others to respond to his instructions though at the moment all she showed was concern. Laura seemingly happy with the familiar face.
Okay...now for the other side.
Oakey took it in stride as best he could, bringing the Ravenclaw boy with him. Gideon watched him leave, not totally against him but going for now with what he had actually seen. His willing actions after the fact did help him in his case though. And then the Huffie girl he didn't know headed out as well.
Three down...how many to go?
Gideon looked around and unless his eyes deceived him, the castor and the original watchers were all gone. Now there was just Laura, Alyssa...and Abby the older girl who he had been with before they had both went to check out the drama. He turned around to face them now that the rest had left them alone. "Alright, now is everything alright on this end? Mind ye, I would hate to leave something uncared for."

"It's okay Laura. Oakey wouldn't hurt me. Besides see he's already gone. Like Gideon said there's nothing to be afraid of."

Alyssa stood up and let Gideon handle the situation which he seemed to be doing a good job right now. "Laura why don't you go with Gideon to the Healer." Alyssa would have offered to go but didn't want to overstep her boundaries plus she never really had great luck with the Healer. "I'll come visit after I wash up and change.
ooc: FYI: Because I was late in posting, Alyssa's timeline is a little tweaked with her seeing what happened before and arriving after all your posts. Alyssa's only yelling/screaming was when she called out Oakey and Laura's names and that happened 400 yards away at the time she saw Oakey and Laura draw wands

Laura looked from Gideon to Alyssa and then back to Gideon. "Eh, Eh well there is." Laura stopped no way was she going to that evil healer, the last time they had spoke she had told her she wouldn't heal her. "I've hurt my arm but it's nothing serious." Okay so she had a broken arm but other than that she was okay. "I'm sure a break would heal on it's own time." Laura smiled, seriously that was right surely if she rested it, it would heal on it's own time.
