Professor Vindictus was totally teasing them with the hot chocolate. Not cool, bro. Especially when it was this cold. At least he was giving out points like it was Christmas or something, that was quite nice. Ella gave him one of her grins before focusing on the next question he asked. Hmm...other teams she'd heard of...

Oh! That little dude was spunky, yeah? Ella just kind of smiled to herself, looking down. She could appreciate a little sass as she had been quite sassy when she was younger. And besides, Quidditch made people passionate. It just did...

"Professor, I've heard of the Quiberon Quafflepunchers...they're a French team I believe."

Max looked from Vindictus to Aidan. He gave a small chuckle. He was far more dramatic than his sister, wasn't he? He frowned at him upon comparing the two before turning back to the question at hand. Other professional teams? Well, yeah... of course. Max rose a hand and offered, "The Woollongong Warriors are in the Australian League." They had the best location name, and the Quafflepunchers had the best overall name for sure.

Alex eyed the hot cocoa that Vindictus had and sighed. No fair, he should share--they were all freezing too! Maybe if he answered this question right...

He raised his hand. "There's the Heidelberg Harriers," he said. "They're a German team. Heidelberg is actually a very quaint little city," he added with a smile.

Nigel wanted some hot cocoa. He was thinking about getting some once the class was over but now to think about a favorite quiddtich team since he did not have one.

"Professor There is the Thundelarra Thunderers. They're from Australia they have dominated the Australian Quidditch League."

Nigel just like the name and the way thunder is used twice.

Kennedy almost sent a smug grin at the Ravenclaw kid. He didn't cheat, he's only read the book about five hundred times is all, hehe.

Once again, his hand shot into the air and he said, "The Fitchburg Finches from the United States League." And that one he's actually gone to see play back in the States.

See? So it was okay to be using the textbook. Good because it was the only way she'd know the answers, though the book was clearly not trustworthy if it was missing a piece of one of it's pages. Still, it would have to do for now.

Skipping to the very next page she saw the list she was looking for. Her eyes scanned the list looking for a team that hadn't already been called out.

Hmmm....

When she thought she found on, her hand rose slowly. "You also have...the ...Gorodok Gargoyles and they're from Li...thua...nia...." However you wanted to pronounce that. The point was, they were a team too!

International teams, hmmm? Vivi was much more interested in the local teams, especially as her uncle owned one and so they often got box seats. Still... she was passingly familiar with teams further afield, and she finally raised her hand. "The Vratsa Vultures are Bulgarian. They're a good shot for Quidditch players who can't get signed here because a lot of talented young players get a start on that team. Plus they're actually pretty good... probably part of that pattern of taking long shots that pay off."

Now they were onto international teams and Gideon tried to think of anyone specifically he could think of. Wait...what was that team he had seen on a visit to his grandparents. They were the home team from Portugal. The seventh year dove into his memory to pluck it out to give to Professor Vindictus as an answer. Bre--Bru---Braga! That was it. Gideon finally raised his hand before opening his mouth to speak.

"There is the Braga Broomfleet team from Portugal."

Growing up in Germany, Ethan was quite familiar with International Quidditch teams. The Ravenclaw raised his hand to answer with his favorite (for obvious reasons) team when he heard a Hufflepuff boy provide that answer first. And he called his hometown quaint? Ethan simply beamed at Alex, before turning his attention back to Professor V and the question.

Hand in the air again, Ethan said, "There's also the Tchamba Charmers. They're an African team.. in Togo, I believe, to be specific."

Em fidgeted uncomfortably beside Max, thinking she would probably enjoy an actual flying lesson over the history of quidditch. She really didn't know anything about the sport, except for some of the more basic scoring things. Even with the book sitting open in her lap, she couldn't name the thirteen team in what ever league they were talking about. Flipping through her book, she raised her hand when she found a non league team. “The Gimbi Giant-Slayers?” she asked more than stated.

Sierra blinked as another question was asked. Merlin! Why was the professor moving through this at the speed of light?! Meh. What did she care? The faster they went, the faster they could be dismissed. She was just slightly annoyed that it was getting to be difficult to catch up.

Not wanting to miss another question, she quickly raised her hand in the air. "There's the Tarapoto Tree-Skimmers from Peru," she said.

Quidditch Teams? Indeed a fantastic lesson to learn about.

Raising her hand, Kat answered. "Sweetwater All-stars," Then Kat added information. "In the year 1993, they beat the Quiberon Quafflepunchers after a match that lasted for five days." They sounded awesome for beating the Quafflepunchers in five days. Bloody tiring...

So...international Quidditch teams didn't count? Like...the ones that represented the country for the World Cup and stuff? Was that how it worked in the wizarding world? Kurumi really SHOULD know more about this considering she was going to need to be Selina's number one fan once she got recruited - which WOULD be happening. You didn't need to be a Seer for that.

While she had been completely silent for the previous one - 13 teams? Right...like she was going to know all 13 of those when she could hardly recall three - she DID know about one international team because her oldest brother was a rabid fan. So, hand up it was with a uncharacteristic smile on the Gryffindor's lips. "Toyohashi Tengu, from Toyohashi in Aichi Prefecture. They used to burn their broomsticks after losing a match."

Considering Hannah had been quiet this entire time she thought that she would pipe up and get involved in the lesson. She actually liked Quidditch a lot and knew a fair amount of things about the sport.

"There's Luxembourgian National Quidditch team." That was so international.

Sarah obdiently turned to page 31, her cold fingurs were not helping! It was like cold in here. Sarah knew that, she was book smart when it came to quidditch. Not a particularly naturally talanted quidditch, yet she did try hard.it was established in 1674 and formed of the 13 best teams in England and Ireland

Sarah was able to name all the teams as well... one does not have 7 brothers for nothing!

Sarah put her hand up in the air and waited to be called on. Yet as her hand was up there, One by one everyone was taking all her answers. When she had finally remembered the Lithuanian team (some of her ansecters were from there, like about 2 centuries before) when some one else said it. Of course she knew the Vratsa vultures, but some one said that too! Finally she had find one that NO ONE else had said, which was like a miracle... Braga Broomfleet, she knew that one because someone once thought she was Portuguese and had asked her if she supported them... WHAT, SOME ONE HAD JUST SAID IT!

She looked again, a Polish team (one of her ancestors were from a place call Lomza or something in Poland, yet she was muggle) "Grodzisk Goblins" she said.

She wasn't entirely sure that she should have taken this lesson. She didn't know much about Quidditch, especially team names or score records. Anything she did know was from sitting with her father as he watched the games. She thought they were exciting and fun, sure, but she wasn't positive she'd want to actually play Quidditch ever. The real reason she was here was because of the brooms. She had gotten a taste for flying in her first flying lesson, and it was enough to make her sit through the sports jargon if it meant she could be in the air again. She kept quiet as the other students, who clearly had more love for the sport than she, answered the professor's questions. The lesson also posed as an opportunity to get to know her Head of House a little bit better. So far he seemed like a nice, easy going person. Eliza smiled to herself, glad she'd found another teacher who made her feel comfortable in class. I hope we get to fly soon, she thought. But if we actually start learning Quidditch, should I quit? The thought made her nervous. Sports weren't really her thing. I don't want to get hurt...but if I never put myself out of my comfort zone, I'll never learn anything new. She sighed and knew her parents would want her to at least try, so she sat and tried not to fidget in anticipation.

International teams.... Vickers naturally would think about those from the US, but having heard two of the Slytherin mention the teams he knew he started to rack his memory of those teams he's heard in passing over the years....

...ah now here was a team who's name, and mascot, stuck with him. Raising his hand he replied "Professor there is a New Zealand team called Moutohora Macaws, and their team mascot is a phoenix." A team named after a bird closely related to cockatoos like his own Dolly. Course he'll remember that.

When Spike had first started playing Quidditch at Hogwarts, he hadn't known anything about the UK teams - not alone any international ones. But five years on, and he regularly read a selection of the most popular Quidditch magazines - mainly because he had links with some of the people featured in them. Finn, Nia, Jacob, Ellie...

Anyways, there often features on International teams, so finally Spike had moved on from just the bubble of Hogwarts Quidditch and being quite knowledgeable about what went on in the rest of the world. And some names just stuck more than others. Like the Hammers. What was the relevance of a hammer to Quidditch?

"The Haileybury Hammers, Professor," Spike answered. "From Canada."

Vindictus nodded as the students each shared the name of a professional team with the class. "Points to each of you who answered, but no one mentioned the one team that's dear to my heart," he replied and let out a dramatic sigh.

"For five fabulous house points, who can share with the class the name of my team and accolades of my glorious career?"

Kurumi's hand shot up seeing as she remembered this from the one homework assignment he had set a few terms ago...all about himself. "The Heidelburg Harriers." She didn't know anything more about the team, besides Professor Vindictus being on it for 22 years or so, so hopefully he wouldn't ask.

Oh, Sierra knew this, but only because she was so into Quidditch and was seriously considering a career in it. ...but Vindictus, if this question didn't prove he had an ego bigger than the Quidditch pitch, what would? Ehh. Sierra guessed if she'd won all those awards and been on a pro team, she'd boast about it, too. Self pride, for the win.

"You played for the Heidelburg Harriers," she said, raising her hand, "and you have five Quidditch World Cup appearances for England." He'd asked for accolades, as well, right?

Ha. That was easy. Vindictus had been a role model to Max since his first year. Of COURSE he knew the man's history. His hand went UP.

"You were a star Beater for the Heidelburg Harriers for twenty-two years, with a whopping total of FIVE Quidditch World Cup appearances for England!" He honestly wasn't even trying to suck up - he was impressed. "And," he said, though he wasn't sure that he needed to continue, "you even got to officiate two World Cups in recent years!"

Too cool, right?!

Oh! Oh, wait... Vivi knew that one! She nodded along with Max's fact before piping in, "Weren't you the Head Official at the 2070 and 2074 Quidditch World Cups? I went to the 2074 Cup, sir, and we sat in the box." As in... she'd probably thrown her popcorn in his hair all night.

Good times.

Taylor looked at him and raised a hand, "You were a beater for the Heidelburg Harrier and made a few World Cup appearances." Admiration was in her eyes as she glanced at her professor/ head of house/ Quidditch ref. She, herself, was a reserve but played beater in the snakes vs eagles game, though she was nowhere near as amazing as Professor Vindictus.

No one mentioned the Harriers from earlier? Well heck now's the time to wax poetic about it... or at least the facts related to Vindy's career. Hand up in the air "Professor you played for the Heidelberg Harriers, and was the fiercest Beater the sport has ever known and was Head Official for the 2070 and 2074 Quidditch World Cups."
