The first floor is full of portraits who would gladly lend an ear if you wish to tell of your woe. Most would be even more glad to talk your ear off about themselves...
OOC: We do have someone who RPs the portraits, actually, so....

Dropping his sword, since the angry jabbing didn't seem to do anything to get the girls to be QUIET, CAPTAIN Glanmore Peaks slapped his hands over his ears. "LALALALALA!! I CAN'T HEAR YOU!" And he really couldn't. His own voice drowned out the sound of the Gryffindor girl.
He wondered what he would have to do to get Peeves to shove a sock in her mouth.
Of course, he would have continued to IGNORE the girls if he hadn't noticed TWO MORE in HIS corridor and he quickly dropped his hands when he noticed the badges the girl's were wearing. Glanmore fixed his hat, straightened out his jacket and bent over to pick up his sword. If he was going to explain, he needed to point! "PERFECTS!" he stood, still too ANGRY to know the difference!
"THOSE THREE!" he was jabbing his sword in the direction of the Gryffindor without the badge and the two Ravenclaws. Kendall Lily Quinn received MORE jabs in her direction. HE WAS EXPLAINING! "Not only did they STEAL my SERPENT, they STOLE my BOAT! Right from my PORTRAIT!"
HIS portrait!
HIS portrait.
HIS portrait...
Glanmore lowered his hands when realization struck him. "This isn't my portrait!"

Who knew portraits could be such a good thing?
When the portrait finally seemed to calm down a bit she opted to continue offering her help when that annoying Slytherin Prefect from the feast (yes, anyone who yelled was considered annoying which made her annoying) and Kurumi, who was a bit annoying at times but wasn't so bad, walked over to the portrait as well. She decided to ignore the fact that they were there.
The 11 year old gave Kendall a look when she tried reasoning nicely with the portrait. Honestly she thought they were long pass that! He was being rude and calling them thieves!!
She shot the thing a glare when it started talking loudly and making noises but the glare disappeared and she snickered in amusement as it tried telling the prefects. Hah! One, they didn't steal anything and two, Lex didn't care what Prefects said so telling would have done him no good. This was actually quite funny--
"Whaaaaaat?!" Lex screamed when the portrait made the realization that the portrait it was in didn't belong to it. She felt her fingers twitch and a strong desire to smash the frame with him still in it. "So you mean you nearly sent us on a wild goose chase and you called us thieves for nothing?!" No! That was too much! She jumped forward and grabbed both ends of the portrait in and attempt to yank it off the wall. "When I get my hands on you you're gonna be with the other big portraits in the sky!"
Why wasn't this thing coming off the wall?!?!?

Stole something? Out of a portrait?
So what was the problem anyway? It was a portrait. Couldn't they just ignore it and move on? Sure, that was a little hard to do with the way the portrait was yelling so loudly, but hey, it could be done.
Nevertheless, Sierra found herself nodding in understanding then turning back to the portrait.
"Perfects?" Sierra asked, and a big smirk spread across her face. Of course they were perfect, well, she was, but still... Prefects, he meant. She looked from the portrait to the three supposed thieves then asked, "So did you see them take it?" she asked.
"...and wouldn't the serpent and boat still be here, in this corridor, if they had it?" she asked. Neither one of them looked capable of making a whole boat disappear...
...and then in the next second alone, recognition was dawning on him, causing Sierra to roll her eyes in disbelief. She glanced over at the Gryffindor girl who was spazzing over the latest. Again, it would be all too easy just to ignore the portrait.
It seemed like the longer they stood there dealing with Captain Glanmore Peaks and his missing ship, along with the serpent that she was pretty sure wasn't actually his, the more Kendall was just becoming convinced this was going to turn out completely stupidly. Especially since the errant and delusional captain still thought that there was some way they could have stolen said items. The serpent might be kinda cool, but the only way they could use the ship was on the lake, and she wasn't entirely certain that the ship would even be able to be used outside of said painting. She hadn't missed the little Gryffie's look at her reasoning, or Sierra's nod at the explanation, but didn't particularly react to any of it. The very fact Captain Peaks had decided that she was the one that needed the most sword jabs as he'd explained his theory about the theft to the Slytherin prefect and apparently the Gryffindor one was more important, even though she had yet to really seem willing to come over. Still seemed like a good idea, but she'd gotten into this. She was not ending up with a detention for stealing things that weren't hers.
She'd had a thought, though, as the tattling had continued. Mostly because of the fact that if the captain was really missing his ship, he ought to be awfully wet. Definitely not standing there waving his ineffectual sword at them, and she'd opened her mouth to actually point that out at the same time as the shocking admission had spilled out and proven her point. "How 'bout you just admit that you were wrong, apologize to us for yelling and saying that we stole your things, Captain, and maybe our earlier offer for help will come back," she said, a bit irritatedly. She was tempted to just let him stay there in the wrong portrait, just to teach him a lesson. "Besides, the serpent's probably better off away from you," she added under her breath, before lunging forward as the Gryffie had completely spazzed out and was trying to yank the portrait off the wall. And she'd glanced over at Sierra, who didn't seem too worried about being a prefect, before trying to pry the younger girl's fingers off the frame. "Permanent Sticking Charm, prob'ly," she said with a sigh. "What portrait is this actually?" She didn't think every painting was stuck to the wall like this, after all. So whose home did Captain Temper Tantrum invade?

Kurumi sort of just stood there staring at the scene unfolding in front of her and somehow managed not to flinch when Alexa shouted and got angry at the painting. It was a painting...and one that clearly was in need of some maintenance judging by the way it was acting. Or was it appropriate to use he in this instance. "So...wait...you are saying that they climbed in to your portrait and took something out of it?" Was that even possible? Weren't the portraits at Hogwarts, erm, not charmed for that sort of thing?
And was it just her...or was the guy acting more like a baby than most first years who didn't get their way did?
And then Alexa was trying to rip it off the wall. Groaning inside her head, Kurumi walked over to the Gryffindor and pulled her hands from the portrait. "Alexa, stop. You are getting yourself worked up over a bloody painting."

Captain Glanmore Peaks sheathed his swords and placed his hands on his belly, letting out a hearty laugh. He was in the wrong portrait! Which meant, wherever his REAL portrait was, his serpent and his BOAT would be there as well! He was no longer angry! He was... being ATTACKED!
"EEEEEEEEK!!!" Dropping to the ground, Glanmore rolled himself into a fetal position as the crazy Gryffindor girl tried to RIP the portrait he was in right off the wall. And Kendall Lily Quinn thought he should just APOLOGIZE?! He didn't think so! "There are no portraits in the sky! EEEEEEK!!" A few more loud screeches left his mouth before the red Perfect girl and Kendall Lily Quinn managed to get the crazy girl away from him, and Glanmore jumped up just as quickly as he fell down.
He stuck his tongue out at the crazy girl as he readjusted his hat. "You, child, have a TEMPER." With that, Captain Glanmore Peaks strode out of the portrait in search of his own. No apologies. No goodbyes. Gone.
Yeah I broke that mirror, so what? ll NOT backward ll Official Gryfferin ll Lemon's favourite
No matter how much she rattled away at the portrait it didn't seem very willing to budge. She would have started laughing at the less than manly display that the captain showed but 'cept the situation on a whole didn't amuse her.
She yanked at it a bit more before hearing Kendall say that it might have been a sticking charm. Grrrr. One way or another she was going to get him off!
She heard him screeching and even commenting on her earlier threat but before she could do any more Kurumi got her hands off the painting.
:/
On second thought the Kurumi one was annoying too. At least the Snake wasn't overreacting! She didn't even seem to care! Why couldn't the Gryffie Prefect be more like her?! STARE. She flashed around to the portrait that said she had a temper. Ha! Look who was talking! "I do not have a--" But the rude portrait just got up and walked away. Quite a rude portrait actually. She turned to Kurumi again. "You made him get away..." SIIIGGGHHHH -______-

The man in the portrait SCREAMED then, causing Sierra to turn her head toward him with a quick jerk. Had someone died?! Found the boat?! WHAT?! She leaned in a little and watched how he was curled up in the fetal position. Merlin. What a Gryffindor. They were the dramatic ones.
She rolled her eyes. "Okay, he's just gone mad," she said, dismissing him with a wave of her hand. He'd run off anyway.
It was only then that she realized she was just casually standing around the corridor with a group of people she barely knew. Only Hollingberry, and that wasn't saying too much. "It's a good thing she did make him get away," Sierra said, responding to the little Gryffindor girl. "He was getting really annoying."
...and loud. Senseless, too.
Pretty much, he was better off on the other side of the castle.

Things just seemed to have gotten even crazier the longer it went on. Captain Peaks had gone from accusing them of being theives, to realizing he wasn't even in his portrait, to screaming and curling up in the fetal position as the Gryffindor firstie had attacked the frame. By then, Kendall realized she could care less if he ever apologized. In fact, she was quickly finding that she hoped the serpent attacked him once he finally found it and his boat again. At least, between herself and Kurumi, the firstie had been pried away from the portrait, and he'd gone on to tell the girl she had a temper. "Takes one to know one," she muttered, giving the tiny man a dark look as he strode off without an other word. Yep. I hope the serpent eats him, she thought, even as Kurumi had gone on to try and talk the firstie down and she actually found out a name. Awesome. At least there was that, so she didn't have to keep thinking of her as the nameless Gryffie firstie. Even if she'd only given her name officially to the insane captain. Now she knew the person who she'd sort of weirdly got along with's name was Alexa.
She'd looked over at Sierra as the Slytherin had spoken again, anyway. "I think he already was. Didn't have to go mad," she replied, even if the statement hadn't needed one. Sane people didn't go around invading random portraits that weren't theirs and then accuse real people of stealing while waving a sword around. "And he was always annoying." At least, ever since she'd arrived, and she'd actually tried reasoning with him. That was the last time she'd reason with a portrait. She definitely hoped she never saw Captain Glanmore Peaks again.
