Two statues stand out on the fifth floor: Boris the Bewildered and Gregory the Smarmy. Beside Gregory the Smarmy is a roped off section of swamp, left in honor of the famous Weasley twins: Fred and George, founders of the joke shop chain, Weasley Wizard Wheezes.
"Hmmm where shall I go now..." Ariella asked herself as she skipped down the fifth floor corridor and stopped infront of some funny looking statues. She stood silently looking up at them in the empty hallway and they started back, frozen forever in the same pose. Luckily that wasn't the case for Ari and decided she was bored with this floor and was about to leave when she noticed a little roped off area...
Heeeey! Ariella knew what this was! It was for the two twins who had run the joke shop in Diagon Alley a long time ago... She looked a bit closely and noticed it looked like a swamp!? Thats odd! Ari leaned forward even further so she was staring down at it, hunched over the rope...

Awarlesta made her way down the fifth floor corridor. Manolo made her swear to pay her respects to the all-famous Weasley Brothers dedication. Fred and George Weasley were his idols! As Awar approached the roped off swamp, she saw her good friend, Ari, peering into the swamp piece.
She skipped up to her and poked her. "Ello, there!"

Wandering around on the fifth floor, Ariadne was minding her own business when she noticed a girl-a first year, no doubt-leaning perilously close over the rope surrounding the age-old swamp, created by people whom Ari had read about only in History of Magic books. Before she could say anything, yet another girl had appeared out of nowhere and was behaving like a hyperactive firstie, nudging the other one.
What if the first girl didn't hear her friend approach, got scared and fell forward? This was no longer the time for Ari to mind her own business. Nope. It was meddling time. Walking were the younger girls were, she spoke as gently as she could, not to scare them, but firmly at the same time. 'Oi, be careful there. I don't think you want any direct contact with that swamp.' Imagine how annoying it would be to clean yourself afterwards...
It was not Ari's intention to come across as a fun-kill older student, but she couldn't resist to stay aside on this occasion.

Awar jumped slightly when she heard a voice that wasn't Ariella's. Oh! It was just an older student coming to scold them."Hi there, we're just looking." She turned back to the swamp. "Nothing to worry about." Although, Ari leaning over hunched over the swamp was making her kind of nervous. She held her hand near Ari's blouse just in case.

The voiced had surprised Ariella, didn't even know Lesta and the older girl where there until the moment was too late. As if slow motion, Ari began to stumble forward right towards the swamp. If was a good thing Lesta had grasped hold of her blouse or she would have gone swimming...kinda.
"Oh boy!" Ari gasped as she regained her footing and spun around to the face the two students. One was obviously her fellow first year from Hufflepuff, the other was a more unfamiliar, but she feels like shes seen her before...maybe Lex had spoken to her before....
"Hey Lest, I didn't hear you come over..." She said giving her friend a smile before turning to the older girl, "Sorry if we gave you fright, I'm Ariella!"

First years were always looking for trouble. She should know, having been one. 'Nothing to worry about, eh?' Ariadne raised her eyebrow at the Hufflepuff just as her Ravenclaw friend was about to fall in the swamp. See, she knew that would happen...
'Don't get me wrong, I'm not against you guys having fun. I once used a board to slide down the moving staircase with a friend.' She had had a great time with Gwen then. 'But I AM against getting dirty. Swamps are just not fun.' Even if they had been created by Fred and George Weasley...
'Hello, Ariella. Nice to meet you.' Wait...'You don't happen to be Ari, Dylan's friend?' There could only be so many Ariella's in their first year, right? 'I'm Ari too. But it comes from Ariadne.' she chuckled, wondering if Ariella had been with DJ on top of the Hogwarts Express. Very likely.
'And what's your name?' Ariadne asked, turning her attention to the Hufflepuff girl whom she knew nothing about. YET.

Staircase boarding?! Awar shot a mischievous look at Ariella. She quickly turned it into a poker face. She was right though. The Weasleys were masters at pranking. They would of made sure this stuff was almost impossible to get off. "We'll be more careful."
She shook her hand, "I'm Awarlesta. Nice to meet you."

Hiding a smirk as best as she could when she noticed the Huffie's reaction to staircase boarding, Ariadne secretly felt proud that she would be leaving some kind of legacy behind, regardless of how small it was.
They would be more careful? Debatable, but innocent until proven guilty, hehe. Ariadne smiled brightly at the young Badger. Wow. Talk about complicated names. Ari thought hers was difficult to pronounce...'How do you spell that? I wouldn't want to get it wrong. I'm bad with names as it is.' It took her a whole year to remember people's names when she first came to Hogwarts, only to realize that half of them were graduated and she would make new friends with new names to remember.
'So you two are friends? Out and about, exploring the castle?' she asked, approvingly, remembering her second year, when she and Jory had started on a quest to explore the castle from top to bottom. Well, the other way around, since they had started from the dungeon level, but that wasn't the point. Sadly, they never finished that quest...

Ariella's eyes widened, "You went down the stairs on boards!" That must have been LOADS of fun, then again with those stupid stairs moving all the time there's no telling where you'll end up or if you'll even end up on the stairs at all...
Dylan? As in DJ? As in Music Man? "Yup! Must be me! Unless he has some other friend named Ari...in whish case he would have some serious explaining to do! He could be trying to replace me!" Ariella hoped that wasn't the case. Wait a minute, "Your name is Ari too! That make us...like that same person! Only not really..." But it was still cool!
"Ya, we met on the Hogwarts express," Ari remembered when they had met, in fact it was only a few days ago, "I guess we're exploring, theres so much in this place it's kinda hard not too!" Ari hadn't even seen half of the castle yet, it was just SO HUGE!

Why were these girls not in Gryffindor, again? Their mischief-maker allures certainly fit the Gryffindor profile. Ariadne remembered their Houses from the Sorting ceremony. Not because she had that good a memory, but because she had played Guess the House with her best friend and lost big time. .
That sounded....a tad dramatic. 'As far as I know, you're the only Ari he's friends with. When I introduced myself, he said he knew one other Ari, but it came from Ariella.' Yes. No need to worry, little one. 'So...whose cat ended up on the Hogwarts Express?' Never in four years had she heard of such a thing before.
Ari rolled her eyes at the same person comment, but she burst into laughter afterwards. 'That's a bit of an overstatement, but maybe we do have more things in common than just our nicknames.'
Nodding, the Gryffindor wondered what the girls have seen so far. 'Have you met any of the ghosts? Did you see Bartholomew, the Giant Squid? Found a secret passageway yet?' she winked at the two girls.

Paying close attention to how the girl had spelt her name, Ari eventually nodded. 'Got it. Lesta sounds lovely. I think I'll be calling you that from now on.' the Gryffindor decided.
How adorable was that? 'I've met my best friend when we were both first years as well.' Only it was on Diagon Alley, not the train. 'I had no idea then that we would become this close. I don't know what I'd do without her.' For over four years, Gwendolyn had been with her every step of the way.
'I hope you two will stay friends forever, like us.' Hogwarts was the best place to befriend people. Ari's mum had met her best friend at school too.

Ah! So she wanted to know about the train fiasco then eh? "Well, what had happened was Lex's cat tried to eat my owl so he ran away a flew up on top of the train and Felix, that's Lex's cat, followed up and so did Dylan's cat," Ari recited as she counted of the events in order, she wasn't sure how many times she has explained it but it was quite fun to tell, "So we all climbed up after them so nobody got hurt!" They all thought it was quite heroic of themselves....
Ariella's eyes widened "The squid has a name!?!" She had heard about the squid of cours, but she didn't know someone had named it... When older Ari asked about hidden passage ways Ariella shook her head in a dejected manner, "Naw, I havn't found any yet... How about you Lesta!? I hope I will soon though..." Ari noticed older Ari wink at the pair of them, "You wouldn't mind giving us a hint to where some are, would you...."

Whoa. Slow down. Too many pet names mixed in with people's names. 'Your idea of nobody getting hurt is climbing on top of the Hogwarts Express?!' Ariadne laughed heartily at this. 'I suppose if I were Selina or Kurumi I would've scolded you too...but in retrospective...it's kind of cool. Definitely something you don't see everyday'. That didn't mean it was right. Just cool.
Bartholomew the Squid. Yes.'I found out his name during one of the classes by the lake.' It might've been Care of Magical Creatures. Or History of Magic? Hmmm.
'The Fat Friar? I haven't met him.' Ariadne herself had only met the Gryffindor ghost, Sir Nicholas.'Does he mind if people call him Fat?' That was something the girl had always wondered.Maybe the young Huffie knew the answer.
As for secret passageways...'There used to be one in the dungeons, but I think it's blocked now.' But surely there must be others?

Vee was just walking down the corridor by the statues she'd only just read about last night when she heard a group of students talking about secret passages. She'd just read about them! And these girls were talking about them as if they were... real. Could they be?!
"I'm sorry, but did you mention secret passageways? So they really exist? Like, the ones Fred and George Weasley twins used?" she asked, excitement in her every movement and tone. If she could only see that, see what her favourite historical characters of all time used to get to Hogsmeade, it would be... amazing! She loved the twins, and anything that might lead her to learning more about them was something she wanted to participate in.

Just then another voice broke into Ariella's train of thought and she turned around to see a girl around her and Lesta's age, "Hi! I don't think we've met! Are you a first year?"

Vee smiled at Ariella.
"Yup, I'm a firstie all right," she confirmed. "So, where do you think these passageways could be? Have you met anyone who's found one? Do you think any of the old ones still exist? What if the Weasley twins hadn't found them all?" she babbled. Oh, she really needed to reign in that fixation on the redhead brothers...

YAY!!
Another first year just like herself! How exciting... "I'm a first year too! And so is Lesta..." Ari gestured with her hand towards her freind before turning back toward the girl, "What house were you sorted into, I don't remember seeing you..." Then again with everything going on and with how excited Ariella had been, she wasn't paying attention to a lot of things...
Ari shrugged her shoulders, "I haven't got a clue but I'm sure theres got to be some around here, I mean this place is HUGE!" Indeed it was...

She must've met all the firsties in Hogwarts over the last week, if you counted this one in! And she wanted to know about secret passages, just as Ari and Lesta. 'Mhmm. I'm positive they exist. But the one I knew of is now blocked. I suppose they're really difficult to discover, and once you do, everyone in this school finds out and the Professors surely block it.' Sad, but true. Anyway. 'And who might you be?' Ariadne asked the newcomer, before turning back to Awarlesta.
Sir Nicholas didn't seem to mind that much these days if people called him Nearly-Headless, but he probably still got upset if people wanted to know how one can be nearly headless. 'Yes, Fat's not a nice thing to call someone to their face.' she nodded, understanding Lesta's point of view.
Heh. So Selina and Kurumi didn't scare Ariella off? Perhaps nothing could, then. 'At least you've done that before school technically started, so it didn't result in any point losses, did it?' Ariadne wondered.
All three of them seemed to be very enthusiastic about exploring the castle. But were they equally enthusiastic about their classes? Hard to tell, so she'd better ask. 'How did you find your first classes? Everything going well?' So far?

Awar nodded in agreement with Ariadne. "My classes? My classes have been all over the place!" She said laughing, "But, they're super fun. I'm enjoying them."
Yes, it was a very good thing that it had happened before they had been sorted, think of all the points they would have lost! And then everyone in her house might hate her for the loss....but that didn't happen so it was alright! "Yeah, I don't think any of the professors found out and I'm pretty sure I havn't lost any points... Maybe Kurumi and Selina thought are punishment was enough," Although that was highly unlikely, espesially with all the so called 'back talking' that had been going on.
"Classes are fun, although most of them has just been little thing...no spell learning yet..." But that wasn't too surprising, "But its kinda hard to keep up with everything, lots going on a the same time!" Sometimes it gave Ariella a head ache!

It was good to know that the girls were almost as enthusiastic about classes as they were about everything else. Lesta even said classes were fun! Granted, some of them actually were. 'Give it some time, you'll get to do plenty of spells soon. Otherwise, I'm glad you're enjoying yourselves so far.' Ariadne smiled. Speaking of classes, she had to get to one right now. Point loss for being late was not on her to do list for the day!
'I'm afraid I've got to dash, I have around five minutes left to get to class. But I loved chatting with you, I hope we'll see each other soon.' Ari actually wanted to hug them, they were adorable! Instead of doing that though, the fifth year just added: 'Let me know if you find any secret passages, will you?' With that she threw her schoolbag over her shoulder and waved at her new friends.
ooc: I've got a busy week ahead and I don't think I'll be able to reply, so I'm sending Ari off to class, sorry. But I hope I'll get to RP with you again soon.

The fifth floor was not a level that Terry had visited frequently. After just one lesson of Ancient Runes, Terry had vowed never to venture to this floor again. He had been so utterly confused during the lesson with all of these funny symbols floating about, he knew that it would not be a lesson he would pursue any further and he certainly didn't want to take any lessons in it, something his mother didn't even object to.
There was something today however that instantly drew Terry up to the fifth floor and along the long corridor. He was fairly sure it wasn't the statue, they were cool but he wasn't going to spend hours staring at them, they would get boring after a while. He stopped a few metres away from them and leaned against the wall.
Whatever had drawn him up here had better hurry up and show themselves because he was going to get bored standing here for ages and his feet would start aching.
