It's a known fact that fire and paper isn’t a good combination. The library has therefore always featured a sparse number of torches on the walls to minimize the danger to the books. On test this year the torches have been replaced by enchanted firefly lamps. A good number of stained glass windows grace the walls at regular intervals where the room is connected to the outside wall of the castle to ensure that adequate light comes in. Stretching from floor to ceiling these windows depict famous witches and wizards from history, important historical events and beautifully detailed magical creatures.
Come sit down and relax in one the cushioned window seats. Read a book under the warm gaze of a healer or the roaring growl of a dragon. According to legend work gets completed faster if you sit in Rowena Ravenclaw’s window so why not try if there is any truth to it? The glass in the windows can’t be broken by spells or physical force but please be mindful and respectful of the beautiful artwork. Remember to keep your voice down since many people come to the library to study or get a moment or two of quiet.

Tales of Beedle the Bard.
EWEWEWEWEWWWW.
THIS WAS THE BOOK WITH THE CREEPY WARLOCK-DUDE!
Aw maaaaan.
Why, oh why was he heading towards the Library?
Bliss had practically dragged him to the Book meeting where he just sat in silence because books really weren't his thing and now he was going towards the store of books of his own accord?
His mother had told him that should he get a little stuck or confused with his homework, his first port of call should be the library as this was where he could find a wealth of information. He didn't need to bother the professors after all.
He walked along the shelves, scanning his eyes over the books for something that would draw his attention in. Unfortunately, although not to his surprise, nothing particularly jumped out at him.
Sat in a window seat was a familiar face. He grinned at her as he sat in the space she had left beside her. "Hi Blue" he glanced over at the book that was in her hand. Now that was one he was definitely familiar with.

Okay. The Fountain of Fair Fortune. That was a nice story. And had a happy ending. Unlike the warlock one where pretty much everyone died. Shudder. Anyway, she turned the page over - "OOOOOW." Pout. Paper cut. She held her finger up real close and SHE COULD SEE DROPLETS OF BLOOD. NOOOOO. She was gonna DIE. Wibble. But she hadn't even lived!
Blue looked up at her name and smiled sadly at Terry. "Hai Terry. I'mma die soon." Sad-face. She patted the space next to her. Might as well make the most of her last few minutes with her a friend.

Le sigh.
OH NOOOO!
Blue had given herself a papercut. Terry, after he had sat down next to her, took her finger in his hand and looked at it. "It's okay, it will heal really quickly" he nodded and then gently rubbed her finger before letting it go. He smiled at her and then looked down at the book that she was reading in her lap.
"What is that you're reading?" he asked although he noticed the story almost instantly. "OOOOH! The Tales of Beedle the Bard" he grinned. "My mum used to read these to me at bedtime" he chuckled. He enjoyed most of them but others could be a little creepy when you read them late at night to a young child.

Final phase of the project.
Dropping the Runes dictionary rather loudly on one of the armchairs in the library, the Gryffindor went on to look through its pages and retrieve the now beautifully pressed flowers and leaves. Thankfully, the herbs didn't leave any stains.
It had been a purely genius idea to use them to make a one-of-a-kind diary for Gwen as a way of thanking her for helping Ari to decipher the code in her mum's diary. Ariadne had bought a plain diary from Hogsmeade the previous weekend and was now ready to personalise it.
Opening the diary on the first page, she took a pressed fern and stuck it in the bottom right corner, using a simple Sticking Charm. On the following page, she got creative with colourful leaves; on the next, she stuck a pansy. About an hour later, the diary was ready.
Text Cut: 'Diary or My Non-existent Paint Skills'
Satisfied with the result, the fifth year packed the diary in her school bag, returned the dictionary and rushed to the Owlery.

Oh. It stopped bleeding. It was still fatal though! Really. Swear.
"You're sure?" She looked from Terry to the papercut. "I won't die?" 'Cause she really didn't want to. She was twelve for Merlin's sake. What she really needed was for Eve or someone to kiss it better and give her a plaster. She'd hunt Alice down later.
She closed the book and showed him the cover, taping the title. "You know it?" BEAM. "Really? My mommy used to read me Beauty and the Beast or The Princess and the Frog." Much nicer than these fairytales I can tell you that. "I don't really like these..." She wrinkled up her nose and reached out to set the book down on a near by table before wriggling a bit so she was sitting facing her friend.
"Sooooo...how's it goin'?"

Cause she cared.
BEAM.
Terry himself had received a variety of papercuts in all shapes and sizes since coming to Hogwarts. Every lesson required notes and every time he did, the boy cut himself drawing the parchment out his bag. It sucked!
He nodded and her uncertainty and gave her a big reassuringly smile. "I promise you're not going to die" he searched within his bag and drew out a plaster. He had always come prepared now for whatever scrapes and bruises he was going to get. He pulled the plaster out its packet and took the back off, placing it around her finger. "There. Is that better?" he asked.
He knew it? "Of course I know it!" he exclaimed and then lowered his voice when he realised they were in the library. "I mean, who doesn't know it?" he chuckled. Surely every magical kid, unless they were muggleborn, had been read one of these stories at least once in their life. "I don't like fairytales" he pulled a face and then laughed brightly. "But they're really interesting!" he protested. The story about the three Deathly Hallows and everything. They taught you lots about the history of the magical world.
He tilted his head at her question and then thought about it for a few seconds. "It's going good" he finally decided. What was going and where was another question.

"What about you?" he asked.
"Would you miss me if I died?" She asked happily, pretty sure what the answer was. Almost everyone would miss her if she died or left. Even Theo. Not Erin though. But it was okay cos Erin was yucky anyway. And a meanie. She didn't mind if Erin didn't miss her 'cause she wouldn't miss Erin. So, HA. Oh. What was he doing-- She BEAMed at him when he took out the plaster. "Hey! Do you always carry first-aid round witcha? Thank you!" She flexed her finger and leaned back against the window, satisfied she wasn't gonna die.
Woah. He was pretty excited about them. Blue nearly giggled at his outburst. Nearly, though because if she laughed, he may think her mean and she wasn't. Not reeeeeeally. "I didn't know it." She corrected. "Cos I'm muggleborn...probably anyway." Shrug. Le gasp. "YOU DON'T LIKE FAIRYTALES?!?! What kind of childhood did you have? Tis probably just cause you haven't found the right one. We can fix that." She smiled brightly. "Your face his funny." Giggle. It was.
"Really? That's great? You're all settled in and stuff? The lads are making you feel at home in the dorm?" Cause she had said something like she'd help him, right? And she had to look out for her friends anyway.
"I'm good. Really good. I'm all excited for Christmas!" Cause it was December now, you know.
Peeves suddenly became visible after making a very loud Rasberry sound floating over the ickle students who were enjoying the WONDERFUL view by the stain glass windows. "You know what these windows have always neeed little boogers?" He said with an innocent whistle, his hands behind his back.
"SLIME!!!" Peeves pulled a bucket from behind his back and threw green, oozy slime he had found in the dungeons all over the windows and some on the students nearby. He cackled and zoomed away.

...she jumped, literally jumping off the chair with the book flying to the floor with a loud thud. She turned around quickly to see the gross slime sliding down the windows, ruining the colors and the beautiful designs. "Eww, Peeves!" She screwed up her face and took a couple of hasty steps away from the windows while staring down at her clothes for any accidental drops. Or not so accidental. "Go play outside, you fuddy-duddy." She'd tried to kick him before in CoMC, she wasn't about to do it again mainly because it was pointless so she just took her wand out and waved it across her body just in case she had some slime she couldn't spot.

Taylor dragged Lily by the ear into the library, thinking Louisa will be there. She smiled as she heard Louisa's oice. Tay followed it and finally let go of Lily's ear when they reached her. "Louisa, Lily's wrist is all swollen and maybe broken but she doesnt want to see the healer. What are we to do?" Taylor looked at the older girl and sighed.

All the way down from the common room to the library, Lily was yelling at Taylor. "Ow... hey this isn't cool....... quit it.... that hurts!!" The third year didn't think it was fair that Taylor was dragging her around the castle by her ear. Just as they were entering the library, the redhead spoke up one last time. "Oww.... will you let go of my...." and then she heard a voice... a very familiar voice. That of the person whom the redhead had been somewhat trying to avoid because she knew that it could end bad. "No....nononono..." She whispered to Tay while trying to dig her shoes into the floor of the library to try to stop herself.
But it hadn't worked. And here was the head girl and Tay had finally let go of Lily's ear. Not saying anything, the third year started rubbing her currently sore ear with her good hand, attempting to hide the other wrist in her sweatshirt sleeve, though the black brace that she had on it was pretty visible. As Taylor explained what was up, Lily just kept rubbing her ear and looking at the mess that Peeves had made. Though she did mutter "It's not broken..." under her breath, even though she didn't actually know that it wasn't broken, especially since it was so swollen.

There she was peacefully trying to clean some of the slime off the windows and ignoring the not-humorous-at-all ghost hovering around int he room, planning who-knew-what. That was when two of her housemates walked into the library with this deadly worry aura about them. However, the way Taylor dragged Lily along from the ear was pretty funny. Louisa grinned and almost giggled if it wasn't for the seriousness of the situation.
The Head Girl's eyes fell to her friend's braced hand and she gasped faintly, "Merlin, Lily!" She tucked in her wand, cleaning windows could definitely wait until she inspected her friend's wrist. "Come sit here..." She directed the girl to her armchair and made her sit down, then turned to Taylor. "You did well by finding me, Taylor. I think we have to take her to the hospital wing." She then looked back at Lily and crouched, "I don't think we can postpone this any longer, Lily. Please let me take you to the healer with Taylor as a friend." Instead of dragging Lily to the healer as a duty by her badge.

Tay had ignored Lily all the way to the library because the girl needed help and she needed help now. She didnt want to try to hold her wrist, hurting one or even the normal one so she had opted for the ear, of course. Taylor gave a slight nod to the prefect, "I agree about taking her to the healer." Tay grew silent again as Louisa tried to talk some sense into Lily.

The redheaded claw stayed quiet while Taylor and Louisa spoke breifly, though every time that the third year stole a look at the head girl, it almost seemed as if she wanted to laugh. Lily's attention was only drawn to the conversation when she heard Louisa gasp and utter her name. Immediately, her gaze was directed towards the head girl...who was looking at the third year's injured wrist. Instinctively, Lily drew her right wrist out of the sight of the seventh year.
Just after she moved her arm though, the head girl was directing her to a chair, so she had to sit and she had to move her injured wrist back into sight of both Tay and Louisa. Lily didn't say anything as the head girl spoke to Taylor, though she wasn't deaf so she heard everything that was said including the hospital wing comment. Any sign of happiness drained from her face at the thought of having to go visit the notorious evil healer. She could only hope that having Louisa there would make it easier.
As Louisa turned back to Lily, the third year hung her head, avoiding eye contact with the head girl. Instead, she just cradled her wrist which had begun to throb. She knew that it would be best to go see the healer...but she really didn't want to. So when Louisa asked her to go as a friend, the third year barely lifted her head to glance up at her seventh year friend, just to see how worried the older claw was. "Do I have to?...." She whispered, barely loud enough for Louisa to hear but not loud enough for Taylor to be able to hear, as a single tear fell from her big, blue, worried eyes.

Louisa nodded at Lily, firmly but her face was nothing but worried and friendly. "I tried my best with it, and the spells I know I'm not going to risk using on you. I'm sorry." Quickly she caught the tear on her friend's cheek with her thumb and flicked it, shaking her head. "Don't cry, Lily. It's going to be okay. The healer might be a bit.." EVIL AND BITTER. "...cranky but professor Tate and now the new headmistress wouldn't have kept her if she wasn't an amazing healer." But a loser personality-wise. But today Louisa was going to focus on the professional aspect of Cece.
Very gingerly the seventh year tried to take a look at the swollen wrist without removing the braces. "How're you doing Taylor?" Since all three of them were going to the hospital, maybe they could admit Taylor in too if she was still having those blackouts? Or memory loss? "Are you better now?" She gave the fourth year a small smile before returning to Lily's arm.

Taylor couldnt hear what she said but she saw the tear. Come on Lily... it is in your best interest... Tay sighed at the thought, knowing it was true but also knowing where Lily was coming from. She glanced up at Louisa when she asked about her. Crap... "Yeah... they stopped after a while... I'm all better now..." Taylor gave a weak smile.

As Louisa confirmed Lily's fear that she would have to go to the hospital wing, the third year's bottom lip began to wibble. While she listened to the older claw explain why she had to go, she did her best to try to stop her wibbling bottom lip. Inside she wanted to cry her eyes out, but she knew that most thirteen year olds didn't cry at little things like this. "B...bbbut what if it's n-not bb-broken?" The redheaded third year asked quietly. "Then can't you fix it...?" She continued, as she wiped her face off with the sleeve of her left hand as a couple more tears decided to fall.
The third year winced as the head girl took her wrist. It had been throbbing with pain for a while now, and had to be almost double the original size just due to swelling. To try to get her mind off the pain, Lily looked up at Taylor when the head girl had addressed her. She knew of Tay's little incident at the whomping willow because she had been around after it had happened, but the third year was pretty sure that Louisa hadn't been told about that. So when Taylor said that she was all better, Lily's eyebrows furrowed and she frowned slightly, just before she gave a little yelp as Louisa had turned back to her injured wrist.

She pondered over removing the braces off the girl's arm, but she was afraid if the braces were gone Lily's wrist would get worse or hurt more. Louisa wasn't expert in dealing with injuries at all. She usually was too tough on the wounded ones, simply because she was harsh on herself. "I think it is broken, Lily. We've been trying to fix it as if it was strained but since it swell, it means it's more than just a sprain. Either way, I can't do anything that I haven't done yet. So..." she gave the younger 'claw her arm back and sat back on her bum on the floor in front of the chair, a small smile etched on her face.
Ohh! And Taylor was better! That's great news. Louisa nodded, happy for her, "That's great, Taylor. Did you happen to know what was causing those? Was I right about my assumption?" Probably not, but Louisa was curious about this weird case of occasional memory loss.
Back to Lily for a bit, "I've got your new broom, by the way." She gave her a teasing smile, "But I'm not going to give it to you until you stop crying and get to the healer like tough girls do." She wanted to know that Lily could take care of herself once Louisa graduated. This needed just a little push, Lily was strong sometimes on her own.

Tay felt bad for Lily. She placed her hand on her friend who was like a sister, "Li, you will be fine. The healer isnt... isnt that..." Okay I cant lie... "Anyways, you will be fine because Louisa and I will be there for you." She smiled then glanced at Louisa, "It must have been something I ate that day." Taylor gave a half smile.

Lily didn't like hearing big sisterLouisa tell her that the wrist was broken, but she understood it just the same. When the older claw sat down on the floor, the third year pulled her feet up onto the chair and buried her head in the space between her knees and her chest, not being able to look at the head girl.
She heard Taylor talking to her and trying to comfort her, but Lily didn't say anything back. Instead, she just sat there, listening to the seventh year talk to the fourth year. This conversation perked something inside the redhead. She looked up at Tay before saying anything. "What about after you hit your head on the whomping willow?... You got your memory back but are you still hurt?" Cause that way Lily wouldn't be the only one getting checked out by the healer.
The head girl caught the redhead's attention again by mentioning a new broom. Though the deal made Lily frown slightly. She was a tough girl...otherwise she wouldn't have made the quidditch team last year. And she could stop crying, which she did after wiping her face one more time with her sleeve. But going to the healer was the part she didn't want to do. Lily looked at Louisa before quietly speaking. "You and Tay will come with me, right? And you'll stay there with me?" Because Lily didn't want to get stuck with the healer all by herself. "Will you give me a piggy-back ride down there?" She asked, putting her legs back down on the floor. If Louisa agreed, then Lily would be willing to go down there. Otherwise... the head girl might have to drag her down there.
Lily should be posted in the hospital after Tay...? ^_^

Louisa's jaw almost dropped open when she heard Lily mention a Whomping Willow incident. "What? You hit your head on the whomping willow and didn't tell anyone?! Tay, I suggest you let the healer see you about that." And no, the seventh year wasn't going to force her into doing it. The healer herself might show her figurative fangs if she knew how Taylor hit her head and quite honestly Louisa didn't want TWO of her housemates crying because of the Healer. But yeah, she thought Tay should get herself checked up.
......................... A piggyback ride? That was the last thing on Louisa's mind in that moment. No actually, it wasn't on her mind at all before Lily uttered the words. First off, Louisa's piggyback rides sucked according to the former Head Girl. Second, she wasn't so big on the fact that she's going to be seen carrying a kid around the castle. And lastly, she wasn't sure WHY Lily demanded a piggyback ride. Was it how kids played these days? Weeeeeeird.
Oddly enough the Ravenclaw found herself nodding her head slowly at her friend. If this was the way to get Lily to go to the hospital then fine! Piggyback riding it is. She turned and gave her back to Lily, "Get on, my dear. And just so you know, I never gave piggyback riding to anyone but Selena, our former Head Girl." And just because Selena HOGGED Louisa's back without permission. "So it's kind of a privilege." Hehehe. Once Lily got on Louisa's back, the three could move out of the library and toward the hospital wing.

Taylor glared at Lily, not happy that the youner girl kinda of tattled on her. She glanced at Louisa, "I think I am fine... I mean it has been at least a month since it happened and I remember everything... or at least almost everything. I am sure the healer wouldnt want to see me." Tay grimaced and ruffled her curls then looked at Lily, "Come on. Hop on her back. The sooner you do the sooner you are away from that evil healer." Taylor smiled at Lily.
Two things Nessie was not very fond of at this exact moment. To add to that, there were two people constantly on her mind, two people that meant a lot to her. One of them being her best friend Thomas, the other Logan, someone who was growing onto her more and more. Problem was, Ness felt she had feelings for them both. It was very confusing and the fact that she was so naive didn't help at all.
After quite some time of thinking, Renesmee had spoken to her best friend, only to end up regretting it all. She didn't fully tell him how she felt, instead she pushed him away, telling him they couldn't be friends anymore. It was a painful choice, and now she was suffering the after effects from it. Not a very happy thing to be dealing with.
With one of her own books, The Notebook, in her hand, the red head plonked down on a seat by one of the stained, glass windows. What she needed was a distraction and this book would do for now, but what she needed more was some company. Good company, preferably.

Taryn was... sort of hiding out in the library. She figured this was the least likely place she'd come across Milton, and she'd rather he wasn't here when she was trying to write a letter to August. Just because they'd dated for two years and QUITE recently broken up... didn't mean that she couldn't still talk to him, right? She hadn't heard from him, but maybe he'd been waiting to see if she'd write first. Either way, she was pretty sure Milton wouldn't get it. He had this weird thing about exes. Probably because none of his liked him anymore... heh.
It was only after ripping up several papers that she decided to use a pencil instead of a quill. If only she'd thought of that BEFORE, she might have saved a few trees. Taryn erased another beginning and chewed on the pencil while staring at the blank paper.

Logan was feeling very nervous right now. D:
He had been searching the entire castle for Ness yet again. But this time, his mission was even more important than the last one had been. The thought of giving her the present still made him smile, as did the praise he had received. It gave him a nice and warm, tingly sensation in his chest.
Not really sure if Ness was a library person, he had decided to take a gamble and see if she was hiding out somewhere in either the book aisles, or the study tables. If it turned out that she wasn't anywhere in the library, the only other alternative would be to wait in the common room for her to come to him.
As he began searching, his eyes managed to land on a redhead who was sitting at one of the stained glass windows. It had to be Nessie!
