It's a known fact that fire and paper isn’t a good combination. The library has therefore always featured a sparse number of torches on the walls to minimize the danger to the books. On test this year the torches have been replaced by enchanted firefly lamps. A good number of stained glass windows grace the walls at regular intervals where the room is connected to the outside wall of the castle to ensure that adequate light comes in. Stretching from floor to ceiling these windows depict famous witches and wizards from history, important historical events and beautifully detailed magical creatures.
Come sit down and relax in one the cushioned window seats. Read a book under the warm gaze of a healer or the roaring growl of a dragon. According to legend work gets completed faster if you sit in Rowena Ravenclaw’s window so why not try if there is any truth to it? The glass in the windows can’t be broken by spells or physical force but please be mindful and respectful of the beautiful artwork. Remember to keep your voice down since many people come to the library to study or get a moment or two of quiet.
Minerva closed her book and looked at Laura, she felt horrible. Someone else that was confused and missed her. She didn't think people would notice she had been gone to be honest. Yes she knew Harvey, Ella, Max, Ari, Damon, and Taylor would, but other then them she really didn't think to many people would. "Oh Laura I'm sorry. No one really knew that I had left. My cousin and I got into it and she gave custody over to my muggle grandparents back in America." Minerva looked down, "I wasn't allowed to take any of my magical things with me, not my broom, books, not even my wand." she gave a small smile, "Thought I took my wand when she wasn't paying attention. I wasn't suppose to come back here either. I was expect to live just as a muggle once I was given to them, but I talked to my grandparents and they gave me permission to come back once they knew the truth."
Minerva then shrugged, "Yeah I guess your right, nothing stays the same, just after the summer I had I was hoping for something the same, but I get back and find that Max has decided we are broken up and had dated our best friend and now flirting with another girl right in front of me." she frowned, "Then my other friends seem to all have changed in some way as well." She then looked at Laura and smiled, "I know your still the same in some ways, but it's just different seeing you study and make classes a priority when the last few terms decorating the kitchen and playing some fun tricks was more the priority is all." She looked down at her book not feeling like reading anymore.
Laura looked at her friend and the pulled her into a big hug. "That is a lot for someone to go through." Laura sighed, "I'm really sorry you had to go through all that." She put the book she had been reading down on her knee. "I'm glad your grandparents have let you come back." Laura was really glad that her friend was back.
Laura sighed at her friend. "I know it's hard for me as well you know, ever since I've come here I've had my sister upstage me, she got sorted into Ravenclaw whilst I got sorted into Hufflepuff." Laura was still upset about the fact everyone thought he sister was a lot better than her, but at least she was talking to her sister again. "I know I was little then, I'm a teenager now and I'll be 14 in December." Laura still couldn't get used to that. "If you want to borrow my broom at all you can."

Minerva smiled at Laura. It was nice having her hear to talk with. The rest of her friends seemed to be going through crazy drama in their own lives so she had pushed all her feelings away to help and be there for them. Not that she wanted to be the center of attention, because that was never Min's way, but it was just nice that someone asked her how she was at the moment. "I'm glad they did as well. They are nervous about it, this is all new for them. They had no clue their son married a wizard. Mom was so good at being a muggle, I didn't even know until I was old enough to start showing signs." she smiled at the memory.
It was then her turn to turn the topic to Laura, she frowned, "You should never think your sister is better then you. So what she got into Ravenclaw, I think us Puffs can be just as smart and do just as well as any other house any day. I think we got into the best house here." she smiled truly believing her own words. Minerva smiled, "Well I think as long as you are doing this change for the right reasons then good for you, but don't change because you think you can compete with your sister or that's what people want. Be who you want to be." She gave her friend a another hug and then smiled, "So how was your summer?" It was time to make sure everything was truly ok with Laura and that she wasn't doing this to impress a boy, or because she felt that someone wanted her to change.

"Promise me next time you'll at least sent me a postcard telling me your okay." Laura suddenly giggled. "I had no idea about being a witch until I got my letter to Hogwarts, even though strange things did happen when I was smaller, mum was hoping we wouldn't get our letter to here." Laura sighed.
Laura looked at Minerva and hugged her. "I know but it's just hard when people compare her to me." Laura sighed. "I am doing the change for the right reason." Laura promised her friend. "My summer was a bit strainge, I feel out with Ella and Sophie but at least we have made up now." Laura really couldn't believe how bad her summer had been. "What did you do this summer after you moved?" Laura sighed.
A path is not simply for walking, its purpose lies in moving forward and improving oneself.

Though, her thoughts were interrupted by something the Slytherin said. Looking back at Daichi, the girl gave a small nod. ‘I know’ The fact that people didn’t see the point in it had an explanation. It didn’t have any. Eye roll. Moving on to a better subject- Potions.
Would people think he was weird?
‘Most likely’, the Ravenclaw said nonchalantly. ‘But you don’t have to say the words out loud. You could just repeat them a few times in your head’, Gwendolyn continued talking. Well… she probably hadn’t been of much help but mehh.
A small grin appeared on Daichi's face as he caught the nod that Gwen gave him. So she also thought that Divination was a bit ...uhm...odd.
Deciding to drop the subject, the Slytherin looked back at his book and flipped the pages. Really , he wanted to learn but his mind was just too...full at the moment.
With a loud sigh, Daichi leaned back in the comfortable chair he was sitting on and placed the book on top of his head, balancing it. His brown eyes gazed to Gwen as she spoke again and as he listened to her he nodded his head. Resulting in dropping his book on the floor with a thud sound and he quickly bend down to pick it up but had forgotten that his other school books lay on his lap as well, so as he bend forward to pick one book up, three other books fell as well.
"ugh, great" The fifth year student groaned as he looked at the books on the floor. "well i usually talk to myself out loud so maybe people won't find it weird?" he asked as he was now picking up all his books from the ground.
Standing up, he placed the books on the nearby table and stretched his body. Arms reaching high up in to the air. "i don't like studying...it's boring!" He pouted his lips as he turned to the Ravenclaw.
Then why was he in here in the first place? simple... because he HAD to. Or else he would fail and be a fifth year forever and O_______o Have to do the OWL tests each year.

Minerva shook her head, "Oh no I wasn't hurt, well psychically. I was sad to be forced to another country when I was finally getting use to being in London and living there and then I had to get use to America all over again. Plus living in a wizarding world then living in the muggle world was just an adjustment." she smiled to show that she was never in any real danger. "Well why wouldn't you get your letters, you belong here with us. This place would not be the same without you here." that was the truth new or old Laura it would be weird without her.
Then she looked at her friend with some concern, "This falling out wouldn't have had anything to do with a boy your telling me you don't know would it?" She was still hearing rumors about that one and wasn't sure what to believe. "What could have happened that you three fell out, I thought you three were connected at the hip, but at least it's all fixed now." she was curious as to what happened and why it seemed Laura wasn't happy about the topic. "What else went on with you this summer?"

"My mother wanted us to be muggles, so that we were a normal family with no magic allowed, though once we got our letter she uses it sometimes now." Laura giggled.
Laura looked at her friend. "I wish you'd stop talking about this guy with no name." Laura gave her friend a playful nudge. "I don't like creepy guys with no name and what sort of name is Oakey as you want to call him the last time we met, is it his nickname?" Laura really was annoyed with the mention of this guy. "Oh no it's nothing to do with that, it was something silly really." Laura sighed and totally her fault which had made her realise she needed to grow up. "Nothing much, I spend most of my time in my room, I did have a sleepover though." Laura had loved that night.

Minerva smiled, "My mother use to not use magic either. I never saw her use any magic until I came to Hogwarts, actually it wasn't until the summer before my parents died that I saw her use any magic. My dad was a muggle, but I think I mentioned that." she looked down at the thought of her parents, but smiled at the thought. "Well I'm glad she came around and didn't try to keep you from coming after you got your letters that would have been a shame."
Minerva smiled, "It's been ages since I have been to a sleep over, I bet you had a blast. You know we should have one in the girls dorm one night. Bring all the grades together for a night, doesn't that sound fun?" she thought it did at least. Plus it might help get to know more of the puff girls. "Well I'm glad you three are happy again and I am glad your summer wasn't to horrible." she then signed, "Fine I won't bring it up again, but his name isn't weird.. I.. well.. kind of like it." she blushed at this and played with her robe.

Minerva looked at Laura and turned a deeper shade of red.. "I.. well.. Umm. I never said..I..I had a crush on anyone. I don't know what your talking about." now you did it Minerva, just let everyone know. So much for keeping it to yourself and trying to just study. "OH NO.. if you don't know him, you don't have to meet him, just to tell him something that may not be true. I mean isn't true." Minerva took a deep breath trying to calm down. She looked at Laura to see her reaction, this could really show if she was lying or not. "Even if I did have this say crush, I would never do anything if a friend was with him or if he was off limits because of a friend." Yes that was a good way of putting it, let see what she has to say about that.
Minerva then got a big smile on her face, "I think it would be the most fun. We could do it on a weekend when we don't have classes to worry about. I have some muggle snacks in my trunk and we could maybe get some stuff from the kitchen as well. Plus we have hogsmeade coming up we could get candy." she was getting excited thinking about this. "Oh do you think the others would like it?"

Laura looked at Minerva and sighed. "It's true I can tell it is, I had a crush on this guy last term and I looked just like you are." Laura giggled, yeah Minerva I know when a girl has a crush on a guy. "If you really like this guy you should ask him out on a date to Hogsmeade." Laura was being good and wasn't going to suddenly remember Oakey, she wanted her friend to be happy and if she was happy then she would be happy as well.
Laura smiled. "I am sure that the others would love to have a sleep over." Laura was going to see if they could have one in one of the dorms. "I think that it would be a cool idea and I have some sweets in my trunk too." Laura really couldn't wait and see if she could do it.

Minerva felt herself getting very awkward and she started fidgeting with her fingers. So maybe Laura was telling the truth this information did not seem to bother her, but talking about it felt just weird. She knew she talked to Harvey, but that was also weird. Minerva put her head in her hands, "It's that obvious? That is not good." She then looked at Laura, "Oh no I can't ask him out.. No, no.. I haven't even really talked to him that much this term, just in class a few times. I don't think he even really likes me this term for some reason. Maybe I did something to bother him last term or he is just busy, oh I don't know, but why would he ever like me?" she shook her head, "No asking him out is out of the question."
Minerva smiled glad that Laura thought it was a good idea. She really hoped they could pull it off. It would be super fun if they could have a huge sleepover and all the girls actually came and had fun. "Well if we put all our sweets together and get some things from the kitchen the food will not be a problem. We will have to come up with a weekend and some maybe fun activities we could do as well." Minerva tried to think of what they could do for the evening games and such..
A small grin appeared on Daichi's face as he caught the nod that Gwen gave him. So she also thought that Divination was a bit ...uhm...odd.

Then why was he in here in the first place? simple... because he HAD to. Or else he would fail and be a fifth year forever and O_______o Have to do the OWL tests each year.
Yes, Divination was definitely weird. Gwen always thought it was kind of pointless to actually study that. Hmph. But, even though she disliked the subject badly, that didn’t mean she wouldn’t be doing her best to get an acceptable mark at the OWLs. Even if it was Divination. Besides, she had talked to Nora, and the two of them agreed to study together for this subject. Maybe it won’t be so bad… maybe they’ll actually manage to understand what it was about. Erm… Chances were… they’ll probably fail Divination together.
Gwen just raised an eyebrow at Daichi, as she saw him put the book on his head. Really now? She was about to draw her attention back to the book she had intended to start reading, but, the noise made by the book which just fell on the floor made her look back at the Slytherin. As three books fell on the floor as well, the girl wanted to help him pick them up, but Daichi gathered the books quickly, so there was nothing she could do. Mehh.
Though something he said made the Ravenclaw draw her attention back to him. People won’t find it weird? Won’t? Errr… ‘Whatever works for you’, she said, once again quite nonchalantly. Mehh. And what did he say next? He didn’t like studying. Well who does? Even though she was a Ravenclaw, Gwendolyn couldn’t say she loved studying. It was just….easy for her to memorize lots of details from the books she read, but that didn’t mean she really enjoyed it. Well… maybe studying for Potions…
‘Then you should find a friend and study together…’ Should make studying more acceptable. Anyway, Gwen found it a great deal to help out Jory with Arithmancy, and he would help her out in Muggle Studies. Really, studying with a friend wasn’t a bad idea.

Ronnie walked into the library and made her way over to the stained glass windows. She noticed a boy who looked around her age sitting on the floor by the window. She walked up to him and smiled. "Hi, can I sit with you?" she asked.

Aiden was the first person to ask her that question. It was odd how most people never asked, because Ronnie wasn't really a girly name. But she liked it better than her real name! "Yeah, it's short for Veronica." she said with a nod, her cheeks going slightly pink at the way he smiled at her.
She smiled warmly, shaking his outstretched hand. "So, Aiden, what year are you in?" she asked. She was pretty sure he was in her year, they looked about the same age. But she could be wrong. You never know!

"Too tomboy for a girly name?" he teased. He chuckled at her blush. It had been awhile since he had seen anyone blush. Oh, how he missed the little rush of blood, coloring ivory cheeks.
His large hand enveloped hers, his warmth spreading into them. "It's my fifth year. How about you?" he asked curiously, his dark eyes never leaving hers.

Ronnie laughed at what he said. He was right though. That pretty much explained it all why she hated the name Veronica and was in love with the name Ronnie. Heh.
Ronnie smiled. "I'm in my fifth as well. What house are you in?" she asked, noticing that his eyes stayed locked on hers. She stared back. There was something about his eyes that would not let her look away...they were...hypnotizing...huh...

"Am I good or am I good?" Aiden laughed with her. He scratched the bit of stubble on his face. "Where you from?" Aiden asked curiously.
"I'm a Ravenclaw. Though I was sure with my dashing good looks that I'd be in Gryffindor or Slytherin," he joked. "What house are you in?"

Ronnie began to laugh again at what he said. She rolled her eyes. "You're silly." she said, smiling. "And I'm from Ireland. What about you?" she asked.
Ronnie giggled at what he said next. He sure was funny! "I'm in Gryffindor." she said.

Aiden stuck his tongue out at her with a feigned shildish face. "You have to be silly. Otherwise life's no fun," Aiden stated. "I mean, Whats the point in just sitting around all day doing nothing, when you could be sitting in the floor of a library, just goofing around?"
"Ireland," he mused, "I always wanted to go there. I'm from the states," he srugged. Aiden didnt particularly think of it as special. It was just a country. All he really cared about was his home. "I couldve figured that ut," Aiden nodded, "Good looks and all."

Ronnie laughed. "Ahh, that is true!" she said with a grin. She liked Aiden, he was fun to be around!
"Maybe you can come with me sometime." Ronnie suggested with a shrug. Why not? She always had friends over to visit in Ireland and it was always very fun. "The states, eh? That's cool." she said with a smile. She then giggled at what he said, blushing slightly.
The little twleve-year-old slid a book at random down from the shelves and tucked it under her arm. Boredom. That was what had lead her here. Playing with the end of one of her two plaits, she skipped over to a window seat, large enough for two. She tucked her feet under her butt and took out the book, flipping open the cover.
