Default Staff Table

by Victoria Bunbury (BanaBatGirl)

The staff...minus a few new faces...are seated at a long table stretching across a dais at the front of the Great Hall. There is a thick black curtain hanging behind the dais in tribute to the two missing from their table. Feel free to come up and greet them after the Headmistress has given her speech and after the end-of-term feast has started. Remember your manners, children.

But yeah, poor woman she lost her plant and her brooch all in her first year as a headmistress… it felt like the two redheads connected in that way.

A nice last term. She had to grin, with sad eyes at that. "I don't think 'nice' is one of the words I'd use." Her first year was nice. "It was challenging, adventurous and lived up to my expectations of being a very unique term." Which beat nice in her book.
"It's all right..." Anastasia eyed the brooch and flipped a hand dismissively. She'd rather have the plant AND Marion, or at least one of the two, instead of the brooch but alas. You can't always get what you want. At least she had the thing back....

Aww the girl didn't have a nice last term... then again, when was ANYTHING at Hogwarts nice? Hah. "Well, I'm sure it will be something you never forget." She reached out and gently patted the girl's hand, having grown fond of her over the course of the term and all its...events, and then turned her attention to the black-clad THING headed their way.

...WHAT in the name of MERLIN was Elwood wearing??! Was she mourning a late husband? How DARE she COSTUMIZE Marion's and... shoot what was his name Tristan's...deaths! Like they were COMICAL! Something to DRESS UP FOR! SOMETHING to wear velvet gloves to!

Her lips pursed, her eyes in a cold, dead glare, Anastasia stared Callie down as she stole away the Head Girl. She shook her head from left to right at the woman's question and sniped, "Of COURSE I intend to destroy it, as soon as I am to a safe location outside Hogwarts' boundaries! I also intend to destroy that hideous get-up you're wearing!"

The blonde likely wouldn't hear that last bit... but who cared if Louisa did, she was graduating, after all...

"I'm not a fan of the decor, Annie," he grumbled. "Blue. The color must be blue . . . and bronze. Not bleh!"
Annie sighed, more frustrated than ever at the amount of staff she would be replacing come term's end, and turned back to her left, where Vindictus had just sat down... had just sat down for the last time, actually...

"I'm sorry you're late," she muttered to him, not at all sounding sorry as she flicked her gaze up and toward the Hufflepuff banners. "But they were blue before you got here. Whoever just put in the last points must have set off the change..."

Not that she was complaining. The badgers had done a nice job, really, winning both Quidditch and the House Cup. Shame it was Max's last term... speaking of, she'd be needing to do the speech soon. Annie reached for her water goblet to refresh her palette, only to find that... it wasn't there....

"I think the ghosts are pulling something on me again," she whispered loudly to the deputy headmaster, "my cup is missing!"

She wanted to say something to ALL the professors... but maybe that should wait until after the feast.. and after she got her diploma. It would make more sense.
"Oh," the headmistress was once again distracted by the young lady leader, "I...am glad I chose you! You are very welcome, dear, and I happen to think you did a great job." She gave her a genuine smile now. "If you ever need a letter of recommendation, a reference, anything... you just see me. All right?"

Oh. Good. She wasn't ostracised just yet.

She offered Leo the faintest of smiles. "Roses... I thought I'd go something, traditional." Sure they seemed stock standard and plain boring, but they had a simple elegance about them which won her heart.

"Evening. Seren. Gemma. Leobald. Hecate." He nodded at each of them as he approached.

Slipping into his seat he leaned back before looking across the staff table. It was only then that it hit him, that the flying Professor was leaving. Scabior did not have a friendship with the man, nor did he like flying but the man had been teaching his HIS seventh year. Or perhaps sixth? Either way, he had begun teaching when then thirty five year old was in school, and so it was surreal that he was leaving.

Books burning. A man older than the most ancient books leaving.

It wasn't the best end to the term. The only good thing was that he could look forward to the two months off.

Seren greeted her colleague with a nod, the look on Dash's face said it all.

So much loss...

An astronomer, a runes... person, a flying instructor and quidditch expert of legendary proportions, the seventh years... and then, the plant. THE PLANT!

Merlin she needed a drink. Maybe a nice chamomile to calm her nerves.

Seren couldn't help but overhear Max's comment about the decor. There was perhaps a bit tooo much yellowy gold for her liking, just because she wasn't used to the brightness.

Secretly though, she'd have loved to see it red, and if not red, then blue.

"Good evening Dash." Leobald greeted with a nod as the History of Magic man took the seat next to him. Dash didn't seem to be in a party mood either.

And there was Vindictus sitting down in his seat next to the Headmistress; it was hard to grasp that the man wouldn't be here next feast and were actually leaving.

"The roses look lovely." Leo commented. "Made any plans for your two summer months off?" he wondered. Two months of relaxation felt like something very needed and welcomed after the losses of this term and he didn’t just think of the library books. Two people had died on the job fulfilling their duties to teach the younglings of runes and stars.

No, she hadn't known Tristan or Marion that well, hardly at all in fact, but they had been her colleagues and the fact a man-eating plant had gotten hold of them slightly dimmed her mood.

Not to mention the fact Max was leaving. That man had been there since she'd started working at Hogwarts. He was an institution. Part of the furniture. Just - THERE. And now he wouldn't be. Sad times.

It was nearly a black day all round. Hence the reason she was dressed as such. With a sigh Issy climbed the steps to the staff dais, nodded her head, and offered a less than cheery "Good evening all" to her colleagues seated already. And the ghosts. They got a nod of the head too.

Perhaps she'd feel more talkative after a drink. Water would have to do for now though, seeing as the feast hadn't started properly and the table was empty save for the goblets and cutlery. Filling hers up, Isabelle swished it around a bit, before taking a swig. Hmmm.
Still standing there, numbed, she watched as Isabelle cheerily took her seat at the other end of the table. Gosh, she would have done anything to have sat on that side of the table. This side was just too depressing.

She gave a small wave to Isabelle rather than shouting good evening across at her, as she turned her attention over to the Defense Professor, who seemed to have taken note of her.

Waving towards the Arithmancy professor, in hopes of getting her attention, Medea gestured to the small space between her and Callie. Hmmm? Scoot her chair over here? They could make room.
Aw, that was nice of her! She was going to make room so she didn't have to sit between to empty chairs! Wiggling her fingers back at Medea, she nodded appreciatively as she took her chair and moved it set back from the table a bit, between Medea and Callie. "Thank you," she murmured. "It'll just be till after the Headmistress' speech." She didn't want to crowd while they were eating at all. Plus, she had some students to compliment, as well as seventh years to say goodbye to.

Uh what? Having inched slightly closer to the center of the staff dais, Fina had been able to hear Vindictus even with his grumbling. She felt bad, she did, mostly because he was leaving, but on the same token, she was awfully proud of her badgers.

"I beg your pardon?" she said, turning to look. "Yellow and black is not bleh." And that was all she was going to say about the subject.

Gemma smiled at each of the other professors as they joined them at the table. She wasn't exactly in a super cheerful mood as she had watched the banners change colors. She had to fight the urge to glare at whomever had changed the point count at the last moment so much that it had made this change...she was rather proud of her Ravvies....she smiled at the sea of Blue Tables with a fond smile.

But of course Gemma had to bring up the last thing he wanted to think about at the moment, the reference section post fire zone. Drinking some water he responded "I’m afraid most of the books are unsalvageable. They are just too burned."

"If only I had fireproofed the books." Leo muttered half to himself and half to Gemma.

She smiled sweetly at the librarian, "I'm sorry to hear that..." then she had a thought, "I'm not sure if you would be interested but I have some Muggle Dictionaries and a Muggle Encyclopedia set on my shelves...and I hardly use it...you are more than welcome to add it to your Reference Section....they are like new..." she said with a smile.....always happy to help.

She took a drink from her cup, "I'm not planning on departing for my summer break for atleast a week....would you like help getting everything cleaned up in the library?" she said keeping her eyes forward.

It seemed that Sebastian was setting some kind of tradition. He had been late to the opening feast and now he was also late to the closing feast. His excuse for his tardiness this time wasn't because he'd had to fish some kid out of the lake but because he'd finally gotten some good news.

Young Pepper had finally been found and brought back to him thanks to the Centaurs and so he could finally wear a small smile as he made his way up to the staff table. Of course he would have felt even better if Millie was able to come back as well, but he knew that wasn't going to happen.

His gaze went to the Hufflepuff table and reminded himself that he would have to go and see Minerva and Oakey once the speech was over and let them both know that his dog had been returned.

But for now he pulled out his chair beside the Headmistress and sat down. "Evening all." He shuffled his chair forward a little and turned his head slightly to the red head beside him. "Sorry I'm late."

It wasn't his fault that Fina gave him a chance to cause a distraction.

He nodded in the direction where the Bloody Baron and Fat Friar were conversing.

Ah okay, so he had missed whatever the upset was. But the Baron was being rather polite and kind, something to which the Friar was rather appreciative of. "Thank you, Baron. They've made Helga proud, may she rest in peace." The Friar looked over toward some loud commotion at the center of the table.

Devil? Who was the devil? He was gone. Destroyed. What in the name of Merlin was that Deputy Jock rattling on about now? Oh but that reminded him, they should probably let the mistress know about that devil.

"Headmistress?" The Friar said, getting the former Hufflepuff's attention. "We've got some information that you may wish to know..." He looked to his fellow ghosts and then back to the redhead, waiting to see what she would say.

"Mr. Gibbins, that's quite all right." The Headmistress addressed her groundskeeper with the same sad look she'd been wearing all evening. Why oh why did she have to be sandwiched between two departing staff members? At least she wasn't seated by two deceased ones, that much could be said... not like poor Fina over there, who must be thinking she's next...

Heh.

"Ew, stop with the vomiting sounds," Annie turned her head back toward Max and wrinkled her nose. She followed his gaze toward the Baron and the Friar and raised an eyebrow, completely distracted as it seemed one of them was heading her way...

Sir Nicholas was relieved that the Baron saw sense and left the seat if only since it was discomforting to the Grey Lady. Sometime during their little case of different opinions the Friar had showed up.

As his dear friend got the Headmistress attention and ear Sir Nick floated a little closer to her to speak up. "We would like to share with you and the rest of the staff the background story which might shed some light as to why Isfret attacked and we are now mourning the death of two professors."

He waited a few seconds before beginning the story. "Many, many years ago, 271 years ago to be exact, a few items were brought back to Hogwarts from an expedition in Alexandria, Egypt. This was back in 1807 and the items brought back included a scarab beetle, an Old Kingdom papyrus scroll, and an alabaster statue of the goddess Bastet."

"Unbeknownst to those at Hogwarts at the time was that the scarab beetle was something more than just an ornate object. The beetle contained a ghost named Isfret. The magic within the school awakened the Egyptian ghost who first revealed himself to the Friar. Isfret charmed the Friar to allow him to perform good deeds around the school." Quieting down Sir Nick motioned to his fellow ghosts to take up the thread of the story.

The Friar twisted his hands in front of his robes and chimed in. "I then introduced Isfret to the Gray Lady who was impressed by the ghost's intelligence. To prove himself worthy, Isfret shared an ancient protective spell with the Gray Lady and she marveled at the wisdom shared by the ancient spirit. In turn, the Lady, with myself in tow, introduced Isfret to Sir Nicholas. To gain the approval of Sir Nicholas, Isfret showed him a trick that would allow him to join the Headless Hunt. Sir Nicholas was delighted that he could now join the hunt, and went off to tell the Baron of the glorious news."

He looked toward the Baron expectantly.

The Baron floated closer to the Headmistress and said "Naturally, I was not pleased that I was the last to know of a new ghost in the castle and I demanded that I be introduced to the spirit. So along we went with Sir Nick to the Spirit Room in the castle where my Lady Helena and the good Friar were conversing with Isfret. It was obvious to Isfret that I was not a ghost to cross, and he said a few inaudible words in Egyptian that made my chains vanish. Relieved that I no longer had to carry the burden of the chains, I insisted, to the delight of all, that Isfret be allowed to join the ghosts at Hogwarts."

Yes! She fell for it!

Like the seasoned pro that he was, Max quietly slipped the Headmistress's goblet back onto the table and feigned a yawn as the ghosts were talking.

But he was paying attention to what they said and his ears perked up at the story.

Even the critter in the goblet seemed to be interested and poked it's green head over the rim of the glass.

OOO a story...and not just any story. THE STORY.

The Grey Lady floated towards the Headmistress but not toooo close since she knew how the woman felt about ghosts...you could see it written all over her face. Tate had appreciated them, but she wasn't sure about this new one.

When the Friar stopped speaking, she decided it was her turn to chime in, "For a few months, Isfret haunted the corridors of Hogwarts without causing any trouble but he was watching and waiting for the perfect moment to let his true colors shine. she said fondly and monotone but then her tone became almost frantic.

"Then one winter day, my lovely Ravenclaws were locked out of their tower. None of the passwords worked and by days end, the entrance was sealed. I assisted the Headmaster and other professors in attempting to undo whatever spell it was, but all efforts failed and the inhabitants of Ravenclaw were forced to sleep in the Great Hall for three long nights." she shook her head back and forth unapprovingly and crossed her arms..."Yes, sound familiar...what a nuisance!" she said rolling her eyes.

She then continued, "At the witching hour of the third night, I confronted Isfret " she put a lot of emphasis on the I and then on demanded in her next sentence, " and demanded he use his magic to unseal the tower. Isfret laughed and floated away. Furious with the evil ghost, I sought out Sir Nicholas. " she motioned to the ghost with a smile.

"When I came upon my fellow ghost, I saw that he was out of sorts and asked him what was wrong. Sir Nicholas held up a letter from Sir Patrick Delaney-Podmore and explained that he was again denied entrance to the Headless Hunt because the hunt was only for those who were properly decapitated. He then asked why I was there to see him and I explained the situation to him." she finished shaking her head up and down intently.

Seren listened intently as the ghosts launched into their tale... so... THIS, was what happened? Curious, Seren held her attention on the ghosts, wanting to hear more.

It was Nick's turn again. He cleared his throat and floated over to be next to the Grey Lady.

"His ancient protection spell was not what it had seemed," Nick explained seriously. "It was a spell to permanently seal a room. And his trick was just that - a trick! How could we have fallen for such nonsense? We knew what needed to be done. So we went to find the Fat Friar."

He sighed and shook his head at the memory at what they had found there. "But down in the kitchens, trouble was brewing. Pots and pans were scattered about the premises, and banana peels were lying on the now-dirty stone floor. The House Elves were trying to use their magic to fight the Egyptian ghost while the Fat Friar pleaded with Isfret to stop. Pies and pastries flew through the Friar and splattered on the wall, and fruit continued to be hurled at the House Elves."

It had been a horrible night.

"I told him to stop," The Friar said getting quite animated. "I tried to remind him he came here to do good and this was not good! He was scaring the House Elves who felt threatened by him." He truly felt sorry for the creatures. "Isfret ignored my pleas and continued to trash the Hogwarts kitchens. The sound was heard by the Bloody Baron who arrived to see what the fuss was all about and told the elves to stop fighting against the spirit and stand guard outside the kitchens." He said and then moved towards the baron. "The House Elves did as the Baron commanded and waited outside the tapestry with the fruit. But they could hear the noises coming from the kitchens and used their magic to disguise the sound from the ears of the living."

The baron cleared his throat. "I asked Isfret, why he was terrorizing the House Elves and before Isfret could answer, the Gray Lady and Sir Nicholas had joined us." He said motioning to them. "The Friar gave them an account of what had happened. Then the other two shared their problems with us. Suddenly, Isfret spoke a few words in Egyptian and my chains returned." He seemed truely sadded by them... One day he'd know how to unchair himseld. "Instead of directly confronting the rogue ghost, we hatched a plan while the loud clanking sounds of pots and pans hid our voices from the unwelcome ghost. Before the good Friar could get Isfret's attention, a ginger feline slunk into the room and it's golden eyes were fixed on a tiny crack in the wall next to the fireplace. The clanking sounds of the pots and pans suddenly ceased as the ancient ghost froze. The Gray Lady was the first to acknowledge the reason why."

The Grey Lady gave a nod to the Baron. "He was terrified of the cat." Ahhh ha, Ravenclaw logic, you see? "We had to act fast. We used the Absentis malum phasmatis nos expello vos charm. Vestri exspectata induco! Isfret was unable to move as an orange mist enveloped him. He struggled to break through the magical mist but the mist was more powerful than he. Yet Isfret continued to struggle as the mist pulled him towards an open window...."

Pause. "The mist also caught the eye of the ginger feline who leaped on the countertop. It hissed and swiped its claws at Isfret. Fear set in and the ghost allowed the mist to pull him out of the castle and away from the four who banished him. As the mist hurled him away from the magical boundaries of Hogwarts, Isfret yelled that he would seek revenge when they least expect it. And apparently that was what the events of this term were about, Headmistress."

Well, yes, the Grey Lady was right. That was what this term's events were about. It was just a shame it took them so long to realize that...

Nick chimed in once more, "Back then, we were so relieved that the ancient Egyptian ghost was gone, we immediately just wanted to set things to right. With the help of the Fat Friar, the House Elves restored the kitchens and had a hot breakfast ready at sunrise." And no one was the wiser.

The Friar beamed at Sir Nicolas' words. "We were able to reopen the entrance to Ravenclaw tower..." He said excitedly.

"As well as make sure the other house common rooms weren't tampered with." The Baron added proudly.

The Grey Lady seemed much more calm and collected than the bubbly Friar. She was most nervous at how the Headmistress would take her wrap-up... "Despite all that happened, we kept the truth from the Hogwarts students and staff, with the exception of the headmaster who had to be informed of all that had occurred. And we did the same this year, m'lady. I am so sorry."

Mer. Lin's. BEARD. Those ghosts sure knew how to draaaaaaaag a story out. Geez. Annie felt her eyelids start to droop but shook herself awake by telling herself that if she fell asleep in front of them, the four house ghosts would possess her body the way Isfret had possessed her brooch.

Clearly they all wanted to come back from the dead as gingers. CLEARLY.

Stifling a yawn behind her pale hand, the redhead nodded toward the Fat Friar, the Bloody Baron, Nearly Headless Nick, and the Grey Lady. "I accept your apology," she said firstly, to the ghost of Ravenclaw House, "but it's really the students you should be apologizing to. Not only did you potentially traumatize many of them for life due to your reluctance to share the truth, but you also scarred their magical educations forever by taking two of their professors in the middle of the school year."

She sure hoped they felt bad about that. Also, would now be a bad time to comment that the ghosts owed her an umbrella vinora replacement? No? Annie just shook her head at the four in disappointment. "Thank you for finally coming forward. Please, PLEASE, in the future, NEVER withhold potentially life saving information from us. Even if it's just a gut feeling or a wild hunch... it would be much appreciated."

The Headmistress gave the four a final nod, signalling that they should return to their House tables, and then turned her attention to her water glass at last.

"EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK WHAT IS THIS?!" the redhead SCREECHED, flinching and dropping her goblet as though it were scalding hot to the touch. "THERE'S A FROG IN MY GLASS! KILL IT, MAX, KILL IT!" She pushed her chair away from the table and in an rush to escape from the harmless frog, actually fell out of her seat and into the deputy's.

"EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

She buried her face in the quidditch professor's robes. SEE, SHE KNEW SOMEONE WAS TRYING TO POISON HER!

As more and more students filled in and chatter began to ring louder from the walls and ceiling of the Great Hall, the draperies and decorations turned from blue and bronze to black and yellow. Huh, final points tally for an upset?

The blonde drank a few more sips from her water glass as she watched the other staff members join their table. She smiled brightly at Seren who was as pretty as ever with her signature flowers in her hair. Isabelle who was all the way at the other end of the table got a wave and mouthed 'Good evening! Good to see ya!'. Josephina who was standing got an awkward wave and a smile. Dash got a wave and a slight wink...she still thought he was rather cute. And the Groundskeeper who she had heard would be leaving had arrived; he too got a good evening.

Huh?

Oh.

Aw!

The Ravenclaw exchanged a genuine touched smile with the blonde and nodded, she wanted to hug her again but with the headmistress sitting here and all -- well, it was awkward not to hug the headmistress as well and by extension the other professors minus Scabior and then the rest of the staff who might not have even taught her and then there'd be too much hugging going on and Louisa didn't want to go there.

"Thank you, professor. I would love to stay in touch with you and was trying to find the politest way to ask without sounding like a stalker." Heh. It was true actually, and maybe THAT was why Callie Elwood initiated this?! She might have foreSEEN this! Louisa liked the mystery around this woman. She also liked her in black. Professor Elwood looked elegant and absolutely stunning with that attire. Louisa knew it was for Burbage (was that her name?) but... it was the truth.
"A stalker, Louisa dear I wouldn't have though that!" The blonde giggled for a few moments before going smiling once more and continuing with her goodbye. "Remember don't hesitate at all to write, I'll need something to read when I'm looking for a new lemonade tea-partner." She blew two quick kisses to the Head Girl from her seat on the other side of the table.

O_____O

Calista turned to face the Headmistress from her chair once Louisa left and stared right back at her. What in Merlin's beard was she looking at. Were there not enough ghosts present for her to cower from? Callie had seen the woman at no doubt one of her worst times after the ghost Isfret had dragged her from the Divination Tower office and yet this woman still had the nerve to look at her like that and then hiss at her for asking about why the broach, the cause of all the term's trouble, was still here. Definate issues.

"Pardon my question but I just assumed it was a valid inquiry Madam Headmistress." Elwood smiled sweetly at her through the crepe of her viel. Yeah, take it in. She hadn't caught the last under-the-breath comment but she saw the look.

It still hasn’t sunk in yet that the entire library could have burned up if we hadn’t managed to stop the fire from spreading." Leo responded thoughtfully.

"You would do that for the library? I'd be grateful for any books that I can get to fill up the gaping holes on the shelves." He meant what he said. Any books anyone donated would be welcomed with open arms.
"Oh certainly." She nodded a serious face in the Librarian's direction. She hadn't exactly made it to the final showdown in the stacks but she had heard it was bad--a situation her serious lack of charms and defensive spell work would not be any help to.

Now that she had him all gushy she smiled a sweet grin, genuine this time unlike that to Truebridge, before replying. "Certainly Leobald. I'm sure my old boss would love to donate anything that would get kids reading." A noble cause really.

Putting down her spoon, since she had company to keep her attention now, Medea leaned towards Callie a little, voice lowering. "You know, my offer still stands. If you...need somewhere to go."
"Oh me too." Callie had had her fair share of drama this term at Hogwarts. She had thought her first term had been bad what with the freezing students and whatnot but really that hadn't affected her too much, apart from the locket being found during one of her lessons. This term however she was constantly plagued by the bad auras floating all over the castle and the general uneasiness that came when dealing with the dead.

But on a lighter note it was over and Medea had been drawing. "Oh that sounds nice, what have you been drawing?" It was an innocent question but as soon as the words left her lips, the Divination Professor realized it could have been too prying. Often times people used drawing as a form of therapy for clearing one's mind.

And the 'offer' still stood? Callie bit her lip and looked down at her plate for a second quietly before turning back to her friend. "Medea that would be lovely." They could plan that night.

Waving towards the Arithmancy professor, in hopes of getting her attention, Medea gestured to the small space between her and Callie. Hmmm? Scoot her chair over here? They could make room.

Wiggling her fingers back at Medea, she nodded appreciatively as she took her chair and moved it set back from the table a bit, between Medea and Callie. "Thank you," she murmured. "It'll just be till after the Headmistress' speech." She didn't want to crowd while they were eating at all. Plus, she had some students to compliment, as well as seventh years to say goodbye to
Oh right, Fina needed a seat!

Callie scooted her chair closer to Max's as Medea unfortunately moved her's closer to Sophia. "Now just scoot on in here Fina, we're not shy!" She giggled. "We don't want to make you sit down there all alone." Not to mention the sad stares everyone's giving that end of the table.

"Oh," the headmistress was once again distracted by the young lady leader, "I...am glad I chose you! You are very welcome, dear, and I happen to think you did a great job." She gave her a genuine smile now. "If you ever need a letter of recommendation, a reference, anything... you just see me. All right?"

The quick motion made something in his robe pocket move.
Callie was still simmering a tad after the rudeness the Headmistress had displayed to her, and after all she had done for the woman this term. The Divination Professor was going to simply give her the cold shoulder for the remainder of the evening and just talk to Medea when she reached for drink and saw Max take the Headmistress's goblet and then put something in it.

The woman then began to sqawk at the ghosts about it.

A smug grin spread across Calista's face and she didn't say a word.

Calista had the feeling the Feast would run late now that it seemed everyone was there and Truebridge was too worried about her SPIKED?! drink. Suddenly the ghosts seemed to perk up and approach the redhead with an...appology? For what?

....

The story went on and on but the series of events unfolded and Elwood, as well as the rest of the staff and students no doubt, were shocked. Isfret had been here before and they hadn't told us? Oh my, my. After the Headmistress told them to appologize to the kids, the blonde assumed she was going to give the speech now but...

Calista watched rather entertained as the Headmistress screamed like a little girl at the little green speck that was clinging to the edge of her glass and was burying her face into the retiring Quidditch official's robes. Seriously? How old was this woman?

"Anastasia, it's just a harmless frog." The blonde began to reach over Max and the trembling psychopath to save the poor dear.
