If you know the password, you can make your way through a portal in the stone wall of the dungeon and walk into the Slytherin common room:
The ceiling is low and the walls are made of stone, and even though they seem dank and cold, the room is a very comfortable temperature. There are greenish lamps by black leather couches and chairs, with skulls all around. Some of the chairs had been transfigured into Chaise Lounges by previous seventh years, and never turned back. There are windows and as the common room is located under the lake, you can occasionally see mermaids, grindylows and the giant squid swim by. A fire burning hunter green flickers in the fireplace, before the rug covered floor. The Slytherin emblem is everywhere, as pride is one of this house's qualities.
This is where Slytherin students are allowed to unwind, study and chat with one another. There is a straircase straight ahead that leads to a room students may use as a quiet place to study, and ask prefects and high scoring students questions. To the left, a staircase that goes down to the Boys Dorm, and to the right a staircase that leads to the Girls Dorms. Beside each staircase is self inking quill and parchment with the words Attendo Thea Vipera on it.
On the side of the fireplace is a Notice Board for class and homework announcements, as well as general announcements and signup sheet with the words 20 minutes max on it, for those wanting to sit on the couch and stare at the fire all emo like. On one of the coffee tables you see a copy of the Slytherin Scroll, a newsletter only for Slytherin Students.
A box is on an end table, where you may sign up for or to be a Serpent Sidekick, and a podium with a copy of Hogwarts a History, which is where you will learn that even though the whole dungeon had once been flooded, nothing was waterlogged or permanently damaged.

The girl then leaned her head back against the arm of the couch and lifted her long legs to drape them over the other end before glancing back at Kat "So, what have you been doing these past few days?" She asked with a smile "Honorary big sisters are supposed to know these things!" But honestly, between her NEWT level classes and other things, she really didn't have enough time, even with all the free periods that her schedule had.
Kat just smiled. Nothing more was to be said. Kat knew this would be Cass' last term at Hogwarts and the thought made Kat wonder how she'd survive without Cass beside her. She wouldn't have any other older Slytherin pal to call a 'sister' at Hogwarts. But, she'd try to keep contact of course. It's just that it wouldn't be the same without Cass.
"Nothing much," Kat said. "Attend classes, and during my free time I'd go chill at the library and read books."

"Its just Miss Prewett, darling." Cass corrected her bestie with a teasing smile "We may be seventeen, but I'm not looking forward to turning into a missus just yet." But then the girl pursed her lips for a moment, considering a thought that suddenly flew into her head "Unless of course its Mrs. James or something - but that's highly unlikely." She said with a laugh, her cheeks turning a bit pink at the thought of Christopher James - who by the way, she hasn't seen since forever. "You on the other hand, you could be -with you and Hugo still together since second year!" Wait, were they even still together? She wasn't sure, she couldn't remember the last time she asked about Fee's Ravenclaw boyfriend.
"Yes, dessert was awful!" The girl groaned "and yet, so wonderful at the same time!" She couldn't stop eating - but she had to if she wanted to get first dibs on her couch this year.
Cass then laughed as she rolled her eyes playfully "I figured - a tank top isn't necessarily something that could keep you warm down here in the drafty dungeons." After all, they were under the lake for Merlin's sake! It was bound to be a little chilly. "Its a really pretty sweater." She said with a smile "Where'd you get it?"
At the compliment, the blonde smiled shyly and said "Thanks, but I'm pretty sure you look waaaaay better."
Fee couldnt help but shake her hand and laugh a bit. Typically Cass. "You know it just thought it sounded more grown up", she chuckled,"and besides that who knows with you my love." Of course the blonde was just joking, her bestie was a good girl through and through. Minus the slytherin attitude, of course. hehe. Ohhhhhhhhhh crush alter!Ding,Ding, Ding."Have you seen him lately ?", she asked grinning,"the year isnt over yet, so you might become a Mrs."Why did boys always disappear and come up out of nowhere again without letting you know?!And then there was Hugo."We arent together anymore", the Slytherin shook her head,"since he made the quidditch team he's changed so much.He never really had anytime. We broke up last summer."No onder Cass didnt know about that, Fee never really mentioned Hugo after they broke up.
The Slytherin started to laugh as her bestie complained about dessert. That was one addiction."Dessert is always the worst part", she chuckled,"after all these years we still havent figured out to not feel sicker after the feasts."Was there even a way? They certainly wouldnt eat less or something. That was a no-go.
Oh yeah the dungeons werent as cold as the girl had expected them to be in her first year but that was probably because she always sat by the fire. But in winter she'd always make sure to have a fluffly blanket with her. Just because she liked to cuddle up in her fave armchair. "The hard lives of Slytherin students", the girl laughed," in summer its great down here though.Remember when lafay went swimming with us?" That had been the funniest. Oh where did she get her jumper?Oh jesus, she had bought way too much stuff lately."I think i got it at madame malkins", Fee nodded," i bought so much lately.Too much good stuff."
Shaking her head the girl raised her eyesbrows at her best friend. When would Cass finally realize how beautiful she was. Like whatever she was wearing."Not at all", the blonde said,"you are gorgeous. I mean look at how perfect you can pull of that dull school unifrom."If there was a student that genuinely looked good in them it was Cass.

There were people, of course, and he preferred to be alone when he was working on his music but this time the presence of people was not disturbing him. Maybe because they were the people of his own house. He moved after eyeing each of them having chosen a comfortable looking armchair by the fireplace.
Feeling all content, he made himself comfortable in the armchair and put his guitar in the right position. His gray eyes stared at it a bit admiring the musical instrument. Then he closed his eyes and started to play a soft melody. He just played the melody for a moment or so before starting singing.
''Oh, it was a dark chilly night
When i got struck by your charm
Please come to me i mean no harm
It is her ice cold heart i have to fight
But what if i lose my heart to her?
I would be left alone in the cold
With nothing in my sight...''
But then...he stopped suddenly. There was something that irritated him. His gray eyes opened and searched the place quickly. His gaze turned into a glare when his eyes found the house elf. ''You!'' he said coldly ''You! Creature!''
The second-year sat down on her chair kinda bored. You know she had chatted with the elf and guaranteed herself a good host in the kitchen. But then she had no one to speak with. And she had to! Actually she was also trying to refresh her mind because it was getting quite and she might just fall asleep. Well, there were students chattering but their voices were in a rhythm that only made her feel more sleepy.
Then another new sound. Cassia at first thought that it was on her mind. But when she looked around her she found that it was an older boy. And he was playing an instrument which Cassia thought its name was a guitar or something.
She listened to what he was singing. And it didn't make much sense to the twelve-years old. She rose to her feet and stepped closer to the boy making no attempt to bother him yet. However ,he stopped and addressed Tinka not so nicely as Cassia could tell. So Cassia took advantage of his stoppage and spoke. "I wouldn't recommend speaking to her like that." She said thoughtfully. "She was just freaking out about the lake and so," She told him whisperingly making sure not be heard by the house-elf.
"And by the way, why would you be left in the dark?" The second year asked curiously referring to the song the boy was singing. As she sat leg-crossed on the floor near the boy's chair. And yeah she was making herself comfortable so unfortunate for the older boy in case he didn’t like chatting with clueless second-year girls.

Richard kept glaring at the house elf wondering how much time he would be wasting with it if he tried to kick it out of the common room. But on the other hand, he did not think the creature did worth his time for doing that. Seriously? He had already been having difficulty with his songs because of lack of inspiration in this school now a filthy creature had to come and ruin his mood with its filthy presence. This was a huge castle, was not it? Did not the creature have other places to clean up or to remain its unnecessary presence?
If looks could kill, the house elf had long been dead by now by the Slytherin boy's glare. He stopped the glaring only when he heard some whisper, apparently adressed to him. His gray eyes fixed on the girl instead and he eyed her in silence for a moment before snorting a bit. So, the creature was a she. ''Her presence annoys me.'' he said to the girl not bothering to lower his voice like she had done. ''I am trying to do something here. My music. My art. And the ugly presence of an ugly creature does not help with it.''
Did she understand that? He eyed her a bit more as she sat down close to him. Hmm...maybe the young witch wanted to listen to his music. ''It's called figurative speech.'' he explained sitting a bit straight to get a better hold on his guitar. ''To be left in dark might lead to a variety of meaning when used in different way. But it means being depressed in my song.''

The boy can really stare. Was Cassia's first impression as she saw the boy looking at the house-elf without feeling bored. Cassia admired that as she couldn't stare at something for a couple of seconds without feeling super bored. She made a mental note of asking him how he manages to do this. Because now wasn't the time for that.
Ugly creature? Cassia glanced at Tinka," She's not ugly. Not so pretty but she is like any house-elf." Cassia shrugged. She was getting convinced more and more that older students weren't so nice. Will she turn like that when she gets older? She hoped not. Because she wouldn't like herself much then and she liked liking herself…..and yeah it made perfect sense in the twelve-years old head.
"You know if it's about your art you could just turn your back to her," She offered trying to be helpful which was a very rare occasion. She rose to her feet and stood before the boy," If you looked that way you won't be able to spot her when she's cleaning because she's in this way." Cassia explained flailing with her arms and making sure not to take the boy's eye off! Which he should appreciate.
Cassia plopped back on the floor hugging her knees to her chest and setting her chin on her knee as she listened to the boy's explanation . Well, she understood a bit. That the boy was depressed, or was it the song that was depressed? Why would a song be depressed, actually the question was HOW would a song be depressed? The second-year paused formulating words in her head which also was rare because she usually blurts out whatever she is thinking of. "So I get that there's someone or something depressed." Yup she understands sometimes.
"Anything I can do to make this someone or something not depressed? Chocolate maybe?" She happens to have a huge storage in her trunk under her bed in the dormitory. "Oh and I'm Cassia by the way." She added remembering that might as well she introduces herself along with offering chocolate, no?

''All house elves are ugly'' Richard said as he still stared at the ugly creature. Yeah, that was what he thought about them and he never hesitated to express his ideas about them, like how he hated them. Maybe they were useful when they did all the cleaning and cooking but Rich did not like seeing them around. So could not they do whatever their work was then simply vanish out of his sight?
And why did this girl prefer to sound like a house elf fan? Rich stared at her now since she stood in front of him blocking his way to glare at the house elf. He did not glare at the girl though, she was probably only trying to help. It was just a poor attempt still the boy would appreciate that. ''Thank you. But i am not disturbing my comfort just because some annoying creature randomly appeared in my sight. This is my common room. I sit wherever i want and look at wherever i want.'' But perhaps, not looking at the creature was a good idea so his gaze followed the girl as she sat back on the floor. He smiled a bit at her feeling glad that the topic was not the stupid elf anymore.
''Well..yeah. Kinda. The song is from the point of someone depressed because he misses the one he loves.'' Then she had to say that and make him laugh. Chocolate? Hahahaha... He eyed the girl a bit once his laughter was over ''That was cute, kid. But chocolate does not mend a broken heart. You might learn about it sooner or later''
Or perhaps it was better if she did not.

Well, the boy seemed to be pretty convinced of his theory. That house-elves are ugly. Cassia wanted to point out that their looks don't matter as long as they do what they are supposed to do. Which they are. And maybe the house-elves too thought that people were ugly. Maybe Tinka now was thinking that this boy with the guitar wasn't a handsome one. Though Cassia was going to think of what the house-elf thought of her.
Oh well she tried being helpful you know ,didn't she. Though the boy thanked her and that was nice in Cassia's considerations, "Welcome." She replied. You know snakes help each other it was no problem. The boy can always come to Cassia for any ideas if he needed help, She was always game to help when she could which wasn't all the time. It actually happened rarely so now Cassia wasn't due to help till a couple of weeks. We're on schedule here. "I think she'll be gone soon," She said. " Because she's been here for a while so….." She must've finished cleaning whatever she was cleaning. Shrug.
And to the explaining part. Cassia leaned forward concentrating because it sounded like it needed to. Misses the one he loves? And chocolate can't mend his heart? Cassia got the feeling that this person, the depressed one was in a very bad situation. Because chocolate can fix ANYTHING and ANYONE. "Well, had he thought of owling ? Apparating to where that person was?" she wondered.
Oh and one more thing. "I am not a kid by the way." She said to the boy fixing the best frown she could manage which hopefully was convincing ,no? "I'm twelve and I'm a second-year I even got taller during the summer." Yeah see, kids don't get taller during summers now do they?

She would be gone soon. Even talking about the elf as 'she' did feel odd to Rich. He just preferred to refer to 'it' as 'creature' and nothing more. He liked girls and he called girls 'she', not some ugly looking creature. Avoiding looking at it right now, he tried to push the ugly image of the creature out of his mind but it was hard to do so with all memories he recalled because of it. Bad memories about house elves. Ugh.
''She had better be.'' he said hoping the girl would be right about guessing that the creature would be gone soon. He hated to admit it but there were many reasons that he hated house elves and one was that he was kinda scared of them. Because of...things happened.
Okay...forget about the stupid elf!!! Back to the explanation of his song...
Of course, what the girl had asked made him laugh again. But that also reminded him that maybe he should have owled his ex-girlfriends back at his hometown. But they probably had forgotten him by now. Not that he cared. He used to care about only one. ''Unfortunately neither is possible.'' he said trying to think of a way to making the reason obvious to the younger Slytherin without freaking her out. ''Because she is gone.'' Was that obvious? Maybe not. But the kid would ask if she would find it obscure anyway.
Now she had Rich raise his eyebrows at her with an amused expression. So not a kid, huh? ''Twelve-year-old and taller.'' he repeated still with the same expression. ''Of course. I should call you a young lady then, huh?''

When he walked into the common room, Richard did not have a happy expression this time. Because of...things that 'a little' disappointed him, he was having difficulty with keeping a happy face but he did not look disappointed, either. He just had that emotionless expression on his face which he wore mostly at the classes and during Quidditch.
Stopping for a moment, he looked around in the place. Good. It was good that the common room seemed to be deserted for the time being...except his new girlfriend who was sitting on the couch, of course. Approaching her, Richard waved lazily and managed a small smile at her ''Hey!'' Maybe she would change her mind sooner or later. Yea, she might.
Hopefully the stupid house elf was not anywhere he could see either. Feeling glad at that he sat next to the Slytherin girl. ''You look pretty''

Ariana looked up and over at the door as someone walked in, she hoped it wasnt anyone else except Rich and once he walked more into the room her lips curled into a smile to see that it was "Hi." she said back to him as he walked over to the couch.
she put her legs down off the couch and out from under her as he sat next to her "gee thanks, who would of know shorts & a t shirt could look cute." her hair was down as it normally was hanging over her shoulders and down in front her face.
leaning her head on his shoulder she let out a yawn, the poor girl was exhausted from practices and classes and All of the homework and it was bad enough she had a headache "what have you been up to today?" which she knew the answer to that ' quidditch and classes' but it was still nice ask, right?

Smirking, he eyed the girl a bit as she moved herself into a more comfortable position on the couch. Yes, she was pretty. There was no doubt about that. But still he felt something was missing there but he could not tell what. He eyed her a bit more as he thought what it could be but he could find nothing. Perhaps he was in this mood to look for something...extremely interesting again so he decided to drop it.
''It is you who make them look cute.'' Cute. It was not exactly the world he would describe her but since she had used it, he decided to play along. Words were not much important when she could clearly understand him anyway and he thought she did. She was a Slytherin so she was smart.
When she asked the question, he folded his arms and looked up at the dark ceiling for a moment while taking a deep sigh. ''Nothing much. You know.'' he looked back at her and smiled a bit. ''The usual. Classes, Quidditch, practicing my music and thinking about...things.''
Now at that last part he had to force himself to stop the smirk that threatened to show up.

then back to everything else he said.. Cause that was important too right? "you never did let me hear your music." which she really wanted to hear, ever since she threw her song book at him in the courtyard that day. which she was thankful he actually didnt read cause that would of been embaressingg
Ugh quidditch and classes, though Ari loved the sport it was exhausting and after practicing 2-3 times a day, she never wanted to go to classes "eh i didnt go to any classes today." shrug. because why would you want to go to classes.. boringgg
Harlow had a nice little soak in the hot springs and walked back into the common room she felt warm and fuzzy all over. It had been a really good idea to take a dip, and she was glad she had worn a fleece coverup. She was mostly dry as she walked through the common room to grab a chair next to the fire.
Harlow had to pull herself up into the chair like a baby learning to walk. One of the reasons she hated the furniture in the common room. It was made for giants and not normal sized people like her.
She leaned back into the chair to look around at her fellow house mates. She didn't know many of them which she thought was a shame, but they all seemed too busy for a little fourth year like her to introduce herself to.

As Cassia sat down she felt her back and legs relaaax. She really was tiered. Probably because she had been wandering around the castle all day. And the floor was actually comfy. Though had she been on a chair she would've fallen asleep right away. Which actually wouldn't have been so cool. Only children fall asleep like that ,right? And she was trying to prove that she was not a kid.
Young lady? Cassia considered it and nodded approvingly grinning. "that is acceptable." Yup totally is. "But you can just call me Cassia ,you know we're house-mates so no problem." She was really liking the title. Some of the older students were actually nice. Who would've thought that?
The second-year fought a yawn and rose to her feet. "I think I'm going to the dormitories. NOT to sleep because young ladies don't sleep early." GRIN. "But I want to …..Read." Young ladies do that right? Or is it only the ravenclaws?
"It was nice meeting you guitar guy ." She smiled at him. "And I'm sorry about the sad person in the song I hope his girl comes back." She said concerned. "See you around!" She said before waving at him and skipping towards the dormitories to sleeeeeeeep.

It happened so suddenly, and quietly, but it happened all the same: everyone in the Common Room, whether they had been lounging there for hours or had just walked in the door, was suddenly evicted.
An unseen force repelled all Slytherin students from their Common Room and attached areas. The same force locked all entrances and exits to the rooms with one resounding, echoing, ominous CLICK.
The Common Room was officially locked and sealed to all.
COMMON ROOOOOM!!! Ariana went to the wall saying the password after hearing from others they all had been open and Load and behold it OPENED! "THANK MERLIN!" she said looking into it first making sure there were no traps or WATER. but nothing.. but some usual dust here and there.. these house elf's should really just give this place a good wiping. she walked in and sat by the fireplace which was burning. "I've missed you chilly common room!" she said to no one since she was Alone and all. goodness. would others come down? she hoped so..
what if the room decided to lock again but leave her IN..

ZOOOOOOM.......
Theo whizzed into the common room after hearing of its reopening. About blinking time, too. He was genuinely surprised that he hadn't gotten sick from having to sleep in a huge hall with hundreds of other kids. Especially flea-ridden Ravenclaws. Well, maybe not exactly fleas, but some sort of germ.
After retrieving his Omnioculars from the dorms, which were completely unharmed, Theodore made his way back to the common room to relax. And it was colder than usual, a more of an empty-cold. But Ariana was there, so he went and sat beside her. "Logan." Nod nod.........

And finally! Common rooms are open! Cassia squeaked and jumped up and down when hearing that. She immediately headed there and once she was able to slid into the doors she stood there taking in the whole scene. Their common room unharmed. She tried not to tear up or anything, no need to make it so emotional.
She headed to the dorms and checked that her stuff were safe and where she had left them. Not that she remembered where she left them but everything seemed to be the way it should be. Nothing suspicious. Then she went back to the common room and spotted Theo and Ariana. She made a bee line towards them and plopped herself down on the floor before them. How she missed doing this!
Then she grinned at her house-mates," Theo..Ari.err.Logan.." She was so proud of herself that she remembered to not call the fourth year by her first name. Oh she was getting smarter. "Finally we get our privacy back.." She said musing around at the surroundings. Though they weren't allowed to sleep in the dormitories just yet it still was good that they at least get to come here every now and then.

Welcome Witch | Blue Galactic Hand Slytherin Graduate
Olivia sat by herself, by the warm fire. At leat something was warm in this godforsaken common room. She thought long and hard about why the hat sorted her into Slytherin. Was really no one out there who was feeling and honest like she was? She did not understand the hat's resaoning about why she was put into the coldest, smartest house. She knew that if she were to say this out loud, she would be giving everyone in the room a huge compliment.
She pulled her pink book from the library out, it was titled "Stories of love". It was so emotional it made her weep, out loud. Olivia sobbed with tears of joy, the book was so passionate. She made a promice to send all her friends a copy, and bake them a cake too. Speaking of that, she pulled out her quill and began writing letters to her family back home, telling them how much she missed them and how she yearned to be away from people who were so devious. No compliments there. But her family would not understand either! Oh well, she didn't care. She still sat there and sobbed. Now she was going to be the sweetest she could ever be. Get ready to meet the new Olivia.
