Hmmmm... What Cela said was kinda familiar. "Isn't that higitus figitus thingy from Sword in the Stone," Kat said. "It just sounds so familiar. It came from... MERLIN!" Hahaha. At least Kat had something in mind, right? Wandless magic. "Don't House elves use wandless spells?" Kat shared. "I mean, yes, elves could have a wand at hand but most of the time they use wandless magic." |
Indiana really liked this Cela lady. She'd read about her. Of course she had. The girl was an ex-ravenclaw. Which was super awesome. Indy aspired to be like her one day. She was so pretty. Indy had a big beam on her face as she listened to the woman talk. Wow. She talked a lot. She must have been really confident that was so cool. Hmm. Wandless magic. Indy thought for a couple of minutes, wanting to think of a really awesome and cool answer. Although all of her answers would be awesome and cool, she was a ravenclaw after all. They only gave cool answers. After a few more moments of thinking she raised her hand up. "Didn't Lily Potter perform some sort of wandless magic on her son when Voldermort attacked them? By dying for her son she gave him some protection which meant Harry didn't die. Would that be considered wandless magic?" |
Seeeeeeeeeeeeee, it was a great idea to attend the seminar Louisa was beaming and smiling and feeling the positive energy engulfing her all the while. Maybe it was because of Cela's excited clapping and beaming toward Louisa and her boyfriend from time to time, or maybe being next to As she stayed focus on her breaths, Louisa did notice a couple of things: 1) Cela giggles, claps and is a happy person in general. That wasn't what the current Head Girl expected form the former Head Girl, but it was definitely very reassuring. 2) She also talks and goes into details, which makes her someone who cares and wants to be understood. 3) She obviously knew Vivi, the fellow seventh year got a brief surprised look from Louisa. 4) She also knew Sierra but Louisa didn't dare give the Slytherin a surprised look. 5) It's incredibly challenging to warmup AND raise your hand to give a proper answer while you're panting like a pig. Louisa had to stop the jogging-in-place and wait for her breathing to slow down before she shot her hand up in the air. "Wandless magic is usually connected to underage magic, like Accidental Wandless Magic." She didn't have to explain what THAT was, did she? Most of students here went through this type of magic - especially the muggleborn ones. "Personally, it was how I got to know I was a witch. I fell off my house's balcony and in that second of terror, I was able to slow down my fall." BEAM. Totally accidental and unexpected magic. If Cela wanted more "official" example, "There are several wizards and witches that history tells us excelled in wandless magic," Louisa's eyes sparkled then, she loved loved the idea of casting spells wandlessly. "Albus Dumbledore, for instance, was able to detect the presence of people who were invisible by using the Homenum Revelio spell wandlessly." Yes? The Ravenclaw ceased her warming up for a bit, smiling and panting in her spot. |
The glance from the Head Girl did not go unnoticed, and Vivi responded with a very bland look of her own. What was she looking at? They hadn't even started dancing and she was already being scrutinized. Where was Aspen when she was needed? She turned her attention back to Cela, wrinkling her nose at the example given. Wasn't it a bit dangerous for a wizard to go handing out real spells, even to Muggles? It was surprising his Ministry let him get away with it. "Things like portkeys, Floo powder, and brooms don't require wands to use because they are imbued with their own magic," Vivi began in a thoughtful tone. "But they also don't work for Muggles, in spite of their magic, so they must respond to our own magic wandlessly. Our magic resonates with theirs." And she had even used Cela's word. Resoooooonates. |
Text Cut: Cela! Cassia stood her hands on her waist while bending left and right. Perfect exercise for warming up, right?! The curious second-year couldn't help not glancing at all the stuff that were lined against the wall. What could those be for ,what were they going to do? And so many other questions were storming in her head. Then she turned her attention back to Cela who was still talking. And that's the awesome thing about talkative people, like Cassia, they talk a lot so if you were distracted for a bit you could still catch up when regained your concentration. While that could never happen when it came to people who spoke only a couple of sentences. If the word was spoken it was lost forever! So Cassia could easily tell that they were talking about fun incantations and nonsense looong spells. The twelve-years old listened to what other students said ,pretty cool stuff, huh? She mused a bit trying to think of what she has to tell on this topic. An old memory was back to her, Cassia raised her hand while the other one stayed on her waist, "When my brother and I were young and couldn't do magic, we used to jump around our backyard and repeat random spells, "Though she doesn't remember the order or the spells. "And once, one of the plants my grandmother grows ,started to dance with us!" Eeeep! "Though that specific plant used to be a mean one." Cassia stated her eyebrows furrowed at the mention of plants. Of course All plants are evil and mean! But plants weren't the subject now. Anyway, if they had been the subject Cassia wouldn't have come in the first place. Stretch..stretch…streeetcchh. Now they were talking about wandless magic. And then they were getting to the fun part! As Cela promised. Cassia raised her hand again which really proved that this stretching was doing good stuff to her brain. "Um…Goblins and house-elves can do magic wandless-ly," Um..Without a wand, geddit? "Is that related to what we're talking about?" Because Cassia could have easily went off-topic. That was so like her. |

And no, that was not because Lewis was not present. It was because she did not want to hurt someone else because she had two left feet and the dance coordination of a troll. But...right...there had been another question asked. Wandless magic. Again, several of her initial thoughts had been raised by people and Kurumi found her eyes wandering to her hair. To her hair that tended to turn into a blood mood ring. Pausing her warm up for a moment, Kurumi caught her breath and raised her hand. "Metamorphs," she said simply. Cue a deep breath. "My hair changes color without the aid of a wand. It's more connected to my feelings..." And there. Kurumi Hollingberry had NOW officially outed herself to the school - those who did not know already that is. "With proper concentration my appearance can alter as well." Which right now was mostly cat ears and whiskers since she was too afraid to experiment. Her first openly public confession...and it surprisingly didn't feel...that wrong. |
SPOILER!!: Cela "Okay, but aren't ALL spells nonsense? Because they are all sooooo hard to say." Weren't they all Latin related, and stuff? Theo didn't know Latin, so, he always had the trouble. Theo did a final thrust type of warm up, then finished with a light jog on the spot. He was excited for the fun part. He wasn't sure on any examples, buuuut, he raised his hand anyway. "Can any spell be done wandlessly, as long as you have the brains for it?" Because he did know that only powerful witches and wizards could do it. Theo certainly couldn't, even when he was young and without a wand, nothing particularly gave it away. He was just a regular muggle kid. |
SPOILER!!: Long explanation Wow that is a mouthful of explanation but this is new to Juliet, all the abracadabra stuff. She sort of thought it's some sort of opening spell but guess she's just wrong. Wait. Where in the world did she think that it's some kind of door opening spell? Snort. That's pretty crazy. She never really thought about it and besides, that spell is not really a spell. So no arguments on that one. Juliet nodded, she learned a lot from this seminar. And the one explaining is very thorough with the details. She's like an expert on these things. Just wow. Amazing. Quote:
Wandless magic? Ugghhhh.... Nope, nothing comes to mind with a specific thing but there is that one thing... "well some excellent wizards and witches.... ones that are very confident with their magic skills can actually perform magic without a wand, right?" well she hasn't seen one up close but some people in history has done it "Like a snap of their fingers, or a wink." Juliet would like to be one of those but of course practicing these things is harder than it looks like. |
SPOILER!!: Cela Yes it was so sad… mean… confusing. Lucky Vickers was an only child eh? Although there were innumerable occasions he wished he had siblings or even cousins his age. Oh the afflictions of an only child. But never mind being sad. This former Ravenclaw was really HAPPY. Practically infectious. He found himself smiling even brighter with every happy beam she cast their way. Why does this feel famil-- Huh.... the Elijah Effect. Imagine that. SPOILER!!: Cela But yes back to He stood agape for a moment when the former Head Girl shared the spell for her packing charm “Uhm… will that just randomly fold and arrange things when you pack or will it actually arrange things the way you want them… like days of the week, occasions, by color and material?” Not revealing too much about how he packs isnt? And now he wants parchment and quill. He likes to write things down yo! Hmm examples of wandless magic "Uhm... Elves and Goblins use wandless magic-- which I find incredible since they're able to achieve the outcome of many of the same spells we do that requires a wand." And a big reason why he's here. |
Quote:
Wandless magic? She stopped stretching for a moment and raised her hand. "Um. Well, any spell can be performed without a wand if the wizard or the witch is highly disciplined in the use of magic." Short and sweet, eh? Abby pulled her hair back and continued with her warm-up. Yeah, she was doing way lot of stretching but she enjoyed doing it. Besides, it was better than watching Cela jump around in excitement. She really was weird. |
Catch up! As Sarah warmed up her mind was elsewhere, on the quill she had used to write her name. First she stood up straight and touched her feet with her hands, wihthout bending her knees. She was flexible! Yet not fit, as she later learned. After sitting almost cross legged to stretch her legs and a variety pof other streched, she did some joggin on the spot and then she did FIFTY jumping jacks. She was so tired, that the last ten were meek. She difintely needed to do more excersise, the walks on the hogwarts grounds were not enough SPOILER!!: Tegz 1 Sarah thought hard about it. FUNcantaion might be fun magic. Dance magic? Well to Sarah dance was magic. She was musical and when the music started her feet started to tap and her body sway. It was a great way to destress herself. Rarely one could find Sarah dancing without a smile on her face. SPOILER!!: Tegz2 Sarah was no stranger to mispronuncing spells, but thankfully it only happened in practice. It was because of hr speech that she did it. Until just before Hogwarts she had had a stutter due to the fact that she was so clever that her brain worked fater then her mouth. Even now she spoke extremely fast. She thought of some non-sensical spells, like Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious, adabra cadabra... Then there were silly strings of words put together as spell that did nothing. SPOILER!!: Tegz3 Then the answers came, from her place in the corner where she was doing arm stretches Sarah lapped up eagerly. This woman sure knew a lot about magic and the different spells. Sarah wish ed she had a writing implement and a paper or partchment to write all this down about spells. Yet thankfully, being born on teh 20th February meant she had a phenomenal memory, so she remembered it all. "Elves and goblins can preform wandless magic..."Sarah loved watching them at work.. it was simply so magical. "Some very powerful wizards and witches can do it nicely, yet it is better not for an amuter to try as it can be very volitile." Sarah had used wandless magic when she was younger by mistake however. She thought to mention that too, "many underage wizard ans witches use wandless magic unintentionally before coming to Hogwarts. This could be puzzling for muggleborns, who are unable to recognize it as maic and the strangest things happen to them" Like her mother for example |
Annabelle heard the professor's question. She heard everyone else's answers and thought they were right. She didn't really wanna repeat it but she felt that a wizard who is very confident in the spell can do it without magic. She remembered a great wizard of the age back in the day, Albus Dumbledore. He would be capable of doing magic without uttering an incantation. She also felt house elves can preform wandless magic too. |
So....this Celandince character was confusing Elliot. On one hand, she was super cheerful, which irked the Ravenclaw a bit. But on the other hand...she knew LOTS OF STUUUUFFFS. SO Elliot could admire that...like, she was totally a Ravenclaw. Elliot decided..SHE LIKED HER. Hmm. Wandless magic? Huh? Was that POSSIBLE?! Why did they even need wands, then? Wands BREAK! Without a wand, a wizard is like...a bird without wings! Can't do its job! So why were wands necessary?! Had they already gone over this? Hmm...instead of answering the question..she raised her hand to ask another one, "Profes-" Oops. She's NOT a professor..."Er, Miss Celandine...if wandless magic exists, why do wizards need wands? I know it takes a lot of magic...but wouldn't wizards want to train over the years how to do magic without wands...like if we wanted to, couldn't we adapt that? Evolve?" Right. Evolve..."Because if you think about it, wands can be a bit of a handicap....if we lose it or break it, our magic is done. That is, until we get another one....but..." she just wanted to know WHY?! And had St. Kurumi just told the class she was a METAMORPHMAGUS?! Whaaaat? Elliot didn't know that! So currently, the Gryffindor's standing in Elliot's mind went a little like this. Cool points: + 1, Uncool totally not cool points: 34793759380368 . So there. Kurumi had a cool point. |
Ella listened as her classmates discussed types of wandless magic they knew about, or questions they had on the subject. The third year was also going to say something about underage magic, recalling how she'd made loads happen before she found out about Hogwarts. With a small smile on her face, she raised her hand. "When I was younger and before I knew about Hogwarts, I used to get upset and cause things to happen without a wand." And it had been frightening but also kind of funny, too. "It wasn't on purpose or anything, it just kind of happened." But she was little then, and that was pretty normal for kids with magical abilities, yeah? |
Wait, what? Disney was a wizard. Total 'the more you know' moment. Though, come to think about it, it made sense. What, with all the talking animals that popped up in those movies. Maybe they were actually animagi? But, wait. She thought animagi couldn't talk? Hmm.... No time to dwell on that too much, though, because class was moving on. "Um, the accidental magic we do as young kids could count, since we're not allowed wands at that age. Also, a lot of the magic that Albus Dumbledore did." |
Quote:
Now she wished she knew non-verbal, wandless magic. Heh. Then she turned her focus back to her sister's business, the one she shared with Cela's brother. "Oh, Nico, right?" she asked, recognition dawning on her. Yeah. That's where she knew this lady from. (OOC: Continued below quote) Text Cut: Tegz Sierra stared at Cela as she continued talking. She said her words a million times faster than the average person, and she spoke with the same excitement she would if the building caught on fire. This confused Sierra, what with the lady being so positive and upbeat. Had she been a Hufflepuff in Ravenclaw robes or something? "Maybe you can say any combination of weird words and cause it to work the way you want it to," she said. "How else would you explain wandless, non-verbal magic? Maybe you can just say whatever comes to mind, and as long as your intent is right and you've got magic in you, it'll work." She thought a little longer and added, "You'd have to be really powerful to be able to do that, too." ...and then--"What about timeturners?" she asked. Had anybody mentioned those yet? "They're full of magic, but we don't exactly use wands to get them to work." |
Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!! Sophie was warming uupppp and bouncing up and down still. This seminar was going to be even better than the magical portrait from last term! And that was SOMETHING! But anyway, she could answer that one!! YEs, she could!! HAND UP AGAIN! "Professor! I mean, miss!!" Bounce! Bounce! "I can still do magic without my wand!!" SHE SO COULD!!! "My very first magic ever was to make mum's flowers bloom faster when I was two or three." She said looking at Cela with sparkly eyes. "And I can actually still do it!!" Because she had PRACTICED it TONS when she was little! She loved that, so yeah! Though she knew she would get in trouble if she did it back at home now that she attended Hogwarts... but WELL! She could still do it around the Hogwarts grounds whenever she pleased! It was flipping awesooommmeeeeeee!!!! |
The more he looked at the the young woman, Celandine, as she spoke and moved; Richard started to realise that he was in this seminar because of more things than only the attraction of wandless magic. It was the instructor of the seminar, obviously, because she was hot. As he stretched and did his moves without stopping even for a moment, he never moved his gaze away from the young woman, watching her with utmost interest. Yes, she was talking about incantations and...such things but obviously this Slytherin boy was not into them at all. He just stared at her, Celandine, and wandered in an imaginary world. That was...until she mentioned wandless magic. If there was something that attracted Rich like hot girls did it was developing his skills of magic. ''All i know is that it requires great skill to use it at will.'' No? He did not care if it did not anyway while he could stare at this Celandine. |
Awarlesta stretched from one side to the other. She remembers being around 7 and her father had taken them to go camping. While Manolo was setting up the tent, she wandered off into a patch of yellow flowers. Somehow she had managed to turn some of them purple. She remembers her father finding her and having a wide, proud smile on his face. She bent forward, blinking back tears. |
Nigel now knew for certain this lady was awesome. Maybe a little to hyper, But still awesome. He was a little sad that the muggle words were useless. He was done streching So he started to jog in place. But maybe he did know about some wandless magic. "Is that like the magic house elves use. Because they don't have wands?" He wondered when he could start wandless magic. It sounded amazing. |
Was Anya allowed to be cheesy and say that love was a wandless form of magic? Because... it was. She was pretty sure Cela would appreciate that actually. She looked the type to appreciate it anyway. Accidental magic seemed to be a big one. She couldn't remember if she ever had that happen to her growing up. Probably not. Yeah. And then house elves had their own type of magic. And she also figured wandless magic was possible for those super advanced. But she had no idea how fun incantations and dancing and wandless magic had in common. And so she continued to stretch a little and just listened to her schoolmate's ideas. |
Glenn staaaaared at the young professorish woman. Didn't she run out of breath, talking and laughing so much? Watching her was exhausting. She averted her eyes from Cela and stood up to do some jogging on the spot. Focusing on her breathing, she vaguely listened to what everyone else was saying about wandless magic. Under-age magic... accidental magic.. Metamorphs.. wait. WHAT? She stopped jogging abruptly and looked over at Kurumi. SHE was a Metamorphmagus? Glenn'd seen her with orange hair once, but she thought it was just hair dye gone from or- or a spell that had backfired. But she could change her appearance at will? That was weird... and creepy. She could probably take on the appearance of anyone in the room if she wanted. Dragging her eyes away, Glenn pondered her own first wandless magic. She'd been little and her mother's cat had scratched her... she'd turned it pink. It made her wonder where her own cat had gone, Amata. She'd run off after the port key incident - she hadn't seen her since. |
Jory raised his hand. "I know it takes time to master,'' he said. "It can be a lot more difficult than learning with a wand.'' He was about to say it was like House elf magic but someone else said it just before. Oh well. He continued with his stretches. |
XD bahah Anya should have said looooove. Cela totally WOULD have loved it XD Quote:
"Yup elves totally don't need wands, and they can do some pretty amazing stuff!" Quote:
"Yes!" Looooooove! Happy clapping and an excited little squee came from the 'professor'. She was a firm believer in love and totally loved-up. "That's the greatest wandless magic of all!" But more instinct than something that could be replicated in a classroom. Quote:
Quote:
"Yup you're totally right! Lots of awesome enchanted and bewitched things are used all the time wandlessly." Thumbs up for Vivi! And more nodding at Resonating. Good word that one. Very good. Quote:
"Yes Goblins and House Elves totally do. They're amazing. But Goblins, they would be able to do more with wands, if we let them have wands." Nod. Just imagine if wizards were the oppressed ones! And Goblins got to be at Hogwarts! With wands! These sorts of thoughts made the blonde woman wonder exactly how good wizardkind would be at wandless magic if there was no other choice. But she was distracting herself. And going off topic in her own mind. Quote:
"Totally true! Metamorphmagi aaaand Animagi, aaaaand Seers," Like herself, "Don't need wands to use that magic." Celandine didn't even bat an eyelash at that little confession. She'd actually already taken note of the girl's strange eyes and shrugged it off as ho-hum another day at Hogwarts sort of deal. Quote:
Oh a good questionnnn! Hmmm. She started a few jumping jacks while she considered. "Well its not about brains. I know plenty of not-so-smart witches and wizards that can do wandless magic." They weren't even Ravenclaws or anything! "Its magical power, and practice is what helps there. Aaaand every spell in theory totally could but, the power of the spell is often weaker without a wand. Your wand sort of channels and amplifies what you do. Its like magic is a frequency in the air and your wand is the wireless that tunes you into the right airwaves." Totally. "And sometimes if your wireless doesn't work, you can still hear a little bit, by standing in the right place or on one leg or with a coat hanger above your head or something, and that's what wandless magic is like: finding those little ways to tune in, but it just might not be as clear and you'll have to strain harder to make all the words out." Quote:
"Yup thats right." Cela nodded. "But I was always told that relying on a wink or snapping your fingers is a crutch that should be avoided, because its not about flair, its about getting it right, and what if you're tied up or blindfolded? Can't be flair-y then." Nod. Nico had been so right about everything always. A good brother, he was. "Any wandless magic you can do with a finger snap or jazz hands you can totally do without it -unless its part of a step in dance magic of course!" Which was going to happen. Yup. Quote:
"Working on non-verbal stuff is totally a good way to develop your skills wandlessly too, but just because someone can do one, it doesn't mean they can manage the other, and both at the same time is really REALLY hard." She could do some, of course, but it was just EASIER to not? Like, why would you unless you had to? And if she'd been able to do it when she was their age, maybe she'd not have been kidnapped by that horrible Hogs Head man. "Well, Goblins less so than Elves, but you're totally right." Nod. Goblins totally needed wands to do what Wizards did, but they didn't to do what THEY did, which was totally different. And made perfect sense. In Celandine's brain. Quote:
Quote:
Quote:
She smiled encouragingly and liiiistened. "Well see, you DO train to not use wands to some degree right? Over the time you're a student and everything. But it wouldn't be much fun if you couldn't do magic at all while you're learning, and what about the," Gryffindors. Poor Gryffindors,"The students that aren't quite as good? They might not even be able to do magic without a wand. And too, think about underage magic, like the stuff when little kids do spells without wands. Its uncontrollable, and usually related to emotional outbursts or danger." Not always, but often. "Your wand helps you be exact, and controlled, and a lot of wandless magic can be exhausting, either physically or mentally depending what form it takes. Our use of wands IS our evolution. Wizardkind didn't always use wands." Paaause. "And that is why you have to take good care of your wand and not leave it lying around. You should get a good holster if you don't have one. Don't keep it in a sleeve or pocket, because you're risking sitting on it or bending it funny. A holster keeps it safe." Quote:
Quote:
Quote:
And yessss. Enthusiastic nods. Nico. Her brother. Nicholai Toussaint. Co-founder of GothSaint Enterprises, the potions company that had that big St Mungos contract. Nod nod. And worked with Sierra's big sister. Nod nod. And now she knew and now she was practically family! They were like ALL ONE BIG FAMILY HERE! "Totally got to be powerful for all that." Nod. "The thing about meaning is that once you and a bunch of people decide that a word or collection of sounds actually means something, it gives that new word power, and that is one of the ways that incantations come about." And "Yes! Timeturners are a good example toooo. Lots of bewitched items are used without a wand." Quote:
"Oh that is so cool!" Celandine liked the sound of that and immediately her mind went off with the fairies and the flutterby bushes thinking of the possibilities. One thought brought her back. "But do be careful not to make a plant bloom out of season! Like what if you make one bloom at Christmas when it is supposed to bloom in June! It might wither and die." Sage nod. Even a gift like that could be used for bad things, see? Quote:
Well and this one was paying a LOT of attention! That was good! She did so like it when people listened to her and learned things and wasn't that great? She was sure that she could ask him anything about the seminar so far and he'd know because he was just paying soooo muuuuuch attention! She smiiiiiled and kept on with the jumping jacks. "It totally does. In most cases. Wandless magic in the traditional sense is noooot easy." And that was a good thing to know! She approved! Quote:
"Yuuup it totally is!" Celandine happily clapped her hands. She liked that people were making the house elf connection. She loved house elves! House elves were amazing at magic and their magic was not even entirely understood by wizardkind. If they hadn't been so about having masters, they'd totally be ruling the magical world. Quote:
----------- But oh! Weren't they just SOOOO good? There really weren't enough points in the worrrrld for good students like these ones! Celandine was still inwardly gushing over the baby!ravies too. Adorbs! Clap clap! "Lets all line up now! Off the wall, wallflowers! Out of the corners! Come stand out here in front of meeee with a bit of space around you so you don't stand on anyone's toes once we get started. I hope you're all warmed up!" Yeah! Enthusiasm! "Okay SO one of the COOLEST kinds of wandless magic is.... dance magic! A lot of Dance Magic also has some really crazy incantations or rhymes that go along with it. That's the FUNcantations part. Basically what Dance Magic is, is a series of steps, sometimes really complicated, sometimes easier, that are in essence instead of the wand movement. So its like your whooooooole body is the wand." Shaaaake it out. She did jazz hands and a shimmy with great enthusiasm. "Rain dances, are examples of this! And some of you might have heard of Wakefield's Sambata. That is an example of Dance Magic. And there are a BUNCH more. Can anyone think of any? Has anyone heard of any other particular dances that bring the magic? And if you haven't, what would you like to call a dance magic spell, if you got to make one up? And what would you like it to do?" ooc: This is where you get to be CREATIVE. Two options here: 1) Make up something like 'Wakefield's Sambata' that supposedly already exists in the Magical World that your charrie has heard of. They don't have to know what it does, or you can make that up too. They definitely shouldn't be able to actually DO it ;) we're just talking about hearing about something in passing. Creative license is fun. 2) Have your charrie think up a name for a dance magic spell. For example, if West was in class he might decide that it'd be cool if there was a spell called 'West's Wombat Hustle' which allows the caster/dancer to conjure up a Wombat. |
oh mr. sun, mr. golden sun, please shine down on me! SPOILER!!: tegz Sarah grinned at the lady who had given her the thumbs up. She listened to what the others and the insructor had to say... She lapped it all up. As the teacher had instructed her, she moved away from the corner and made space for herself. Sarah had known about a dance. Her grandmother told her about the witchdoctors in Africa and the Shaman of the Khoi-san people who did things that were supossedly magic. Sarah doubted it though. So instead she made up her own dance magic, even though she did know of a real one. "I would make up a dance magic called Sarah's Sunshine Shuffle, it brings out the sunshine... we need it here in Britain". Her mother told her stories of growing up in Sunny South Africa and her grandmother echoed them. In South Africa the weather gives them like a six month summer, two month winter, two month spring and two month autumn! That is so cool! And it only rained in the summer... and it did not just rain... it stormed. But it least it was not cold when it rained. Sarah was sure that the reason why South Africans were so warm, was because of their warm weather, some British people, or most were so cold.. that was probably because they let the coldness of the weather get into their hearts. |
