Seminar One: FUNcantations and Dance Magic
|
Awar thought it'd be cool to be involved in something. She saw the flyer for this seminar and thought why not! She walked over the cubbies and placed her bag and books in there. Then, she went over to the table and wrote Awarlesta Black on a Hufflepuff nametag. She walked over to a corner and waited for the next instructions, shifting back and forth on her heels. |
It was hard not to be a bit sour that a fascinating topic such as alternative spell-casting was being combined with dancing. Not that Vivi was necessarily opposed to dancing, but it just tended to make people into idiots. Girl people AND boy people were weird about dancing. Maybe this was dancing by yourself, which was less weirdness-inducing? Regardless, she waved at the peppy little professor-lady as she entered, taking note of the name as one she recognized before she created her own name tag. Genevieve Branxton. Yes, she was going to be a Genevieve today in order to maintain as much dignity as possible. "Good day, Mrs. Kettleburn. I hope your family is well." Her mother kept those Kettleburn baby photos and announcements on the mantle in her library with all the others, and Vivi was never so happy she'd actually spent some time reading over them on the odd occasion she wandered into the room. |
Arabella-Marie made her way into the seminar and made her way over to the table and took a nametag and wrote Arabella-Marie Kingston on it and stood and waited for Mrs Kettleburn to start |
Ari skipped into the class in some gym clothes she just threw on for the heck of it, attending this seminar was a spur the moment thing and well, she was bored so Why not "Hello!" ariana said to the Ariana ooc: the link was broken & i couldnt find the picture again so i took it out :D |
Nigel walked into the seminar in his most comfortable clothing. He did not have work out clothes because he did not work out. He was only twelve. But he did weat a plain white t shirt and basketball shorts. Nigel went over and filled out his name tag with Hello, My Name is Awesome. Then in tiny print underneath he wrote his real name. He then waited to see what they would be doing in this seminar today. |
Theo liked seminars. They were something different, though they did tend to be harder than actual lessons. Eh, it would still be fun. Coming to class kitted out in a tatty old tracksuit, Theo popped his stuffs in a cubby and then went straight to the name tags. He filled it out, and took a moment to appreciate the self-colouring ink. Wow. "Hiii..." He squinted his eyes to see the teacher's name tag, but she was excercising and stuff, so he couldn't see, "...lady." Hi, lady. Theo started by stretching his fingers until they clicked and then, he put his hands on his hips and twisted around. This was gonna be awesuuuum. |
Penelope was looking forward to this lesson seminar thing. Learning how to do wandless magic would be so helpful, especially since she seemed to fail when performing with a wand. hopefully not using one would make it easier. "Hey," she said in greeting to the teacher lady, before doing as instructed and used one of the cool self-inking colored quills to write her name Penelope Greenwell on a Gryffindor tag. She made a mental note to get herself one of those quills. Then she put the nametag on and went to place her bag in one of the empty cubbies. So now...stretching. This shouldn't be too hard. Sorta reminded her of DADA. Since the teacher lady was jogging, Penelope decided she'd start off with that. |
Gideon wasn't quite sure why he was here for this particular seminar. Well other than the curiousity brought forth by the mention of wandless magic. Sure he had managed a few spells with it himself, thankfully before last spring when he had needed them without his wand, but there was more to just what he knew wasn't there. But it was the mention of dance that brought him up short. Similar to what Groundskeeper Stryker had taught them his fourth year? Probably not...it didn't sound like something ballroom dancing worked with. More like the other sort. Still the prefect had dragged himself down to the room off the Great Hall, the seventh year dressed in sweats a tshirt and socks. Not quite his outfit of choice from practicing quidditch but it seemed to fit the bill of wizard activewear. Gideon looked around to take in the modified room as well as anyone gathered there already, spotting Vivi off to one side and debating moving closer. Would there be teasing? He was here, he might as well play along. Since he hadn't brought his bag figuring it was probably not necessary given the topic, the prefect didn't need to deposit it in the cubbies. He did need a name tag as directed, the seventh year boy making his way over and filling on out before attaching it to his shirt. One...Gideon Gert. |
Silvia was not going to miss this seminar. Though she wasn't entirely sure she would be comfortable dancing in front of everyone, it sounded like it would be very exciting. Especially the wandless magic part. Stepping into the room in a pair of comfortable shorts and shirt, she made her way over to the cubbies and placed her things inside at the instructor's bidding. Then she made her way over to the table and picked up a Ravenclaw nametag, which she filled out. Silvia Talbot. "Hello..." she wasn't sure what to call the instructor, since she couldn't really call her a professor, could she? Oh well, a simple hello would do. Silvia stood off to the side a bit and began performing a few basic stretches as they had been told to do. Now, just to wait for the exciting lesson to begin. |
Seminar classes!!! Addie always enjoyed these and the current one looked fun and interesting. Plus she got to wear interesting clothes she would never wear normally. She smiled as she bounded towards the Great Hall in her purple, lime green, and magenta outfit decked out with her tennis shoes and leg warmers. Her hair was up tight in a high bun with a hot pink bow! Addie walked into the classroom and found that the teacher was dressed just as crazily as she was. Smiling Addie picked up a name tag and wrote carefully and neatly Adelaide Coral. She made sure all of her belongings were tucked away in the cubbies then addressed the teacher. "Hello Mrs. Kettleburn," she smiled and started to jog in place to warm up. "How are you today?" |
Annabelle was excited to go to this seminar. She already had on her work out outfit. She was also excited she didn't need her books and she put them in the cubby. She felt so comfortable, she was stretching her muscles and getting prepared. She had her wand at her side. As she was stretching she saw the professor in the front of the room. "Hello Mrs. Kettleburn!" Belle said kindly. She was jogging in place to keep her heart rate up. "I am excited for this lesson." |
Robbing her hands together and trying not to squeak, Cassia entered the classroom excitedly. She was wearing her workout clothes and that was a new outfit she had bought specifically for Hogwarts usage. She looked around and grinned at the stuff she saw. She didn't know what they were going to do but it sounded fun, no? Skipping further in she stepped by one of the tables with name tags and other students were writing their names on them so she should too. After scribbling down her name , She spotted a blond whom Cassia thought was the guest teacher. Cassia walked towards the not-so-old woman and waved enthusiastically, "Hello…" Cassia tried to focus on the name tag but found a bit of a trouble as the woman was herself moving actively and so, "..Mrs. Kettleburn." Cassia finally managed to say. Then the twelve-years old turned on her heels and joined the other students. The atmosphere was so energetic. Cassia glanced at the surroundings and tried to guess what will they do. Meanwhile the second-year was rocking on the balls of her feet while drawing circles with her arms absent-mindedly. |

"Welcome! That's not warming up!" Cela chided with a cheerful, almost sing-song voice. She herself began twisting and doing toe touches. You know, setting an example and the like. Quote:

"Hello!" Yup! Very chirpy! "Welcome!" Quote:

Twisttwiststretchtwist. "Hiiiiiii..... boy!" Yeah and he was doing good already with the exercising and all. Cela happy clapped as she bent forward at the waist. "Just call me Cela, or Celandine." Wink. Stretch. Twiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiist. Quote:

"Time to get moving, sweetie! Stretch and warm up!" She said, waving enthusiastically at the Gryffindor prefect. Quote:
Oh another Ravenclaw! Eeee! Cela beamed and shimmied a bit, showing off her own Ravenclaw nametag. "Hello! Welcome! Glad you're here, I'm Celandine.". Quote:
"And you can just call me Celandine or Cela. Its totally easier to say." Quote:

----------- "We'll get started soon everyone!" She said enthusiastically. It wasn't quite 2pm yet, and there were probably stragglers. There were totally always stragglers. Twist! Reach! Stretch! |
Arabella-Marie smiled at what Mrs Kettleburn said and started to warm up like the rest of the students who were in attendance |

Dora wasn't a strangler. She was still technically early which was good for her cause she didn't plan on rushing all those floors. Why when she was gonna get her exercise in this lesson? The second year did skip into the class, and on a spur decided to pick a spot beside Penelope after getting a Ravenclaw nametag and writing Isidora Miroslava on it. "Hi..." Professor Kettleburn? She didn't know if this woman was a real professor or not, so a simple hello and smile would have to do for now. Penelope got a smile to only it was a bit more genuine and then distracted as she went on to do stretchy stuff beside the lion. |

"Aye M--Celadine," he said letting her know he understood and using the name she had mentioned using. Gideon bending over and starting to stretch both his arms and legs, figuring both would probably be useful for whatever they would be doing when they began. |

Elliot should have known that since the clothes they had to wear were...work out clothes, she wasn't going to like this seminar. Firstly, Elliot DIDN'T work out. Heck, she didn't need to. Everyone be jealous because Elliot Morganzo can be skinny without having to get all sweaty. This is probably only because she doesn't like many foods...and is vegetarian...but still. Secondly...her sunglasses were not helpful. She didn't know how muggles wore them. A shading spell would be soooo much more helpful. Sunglasses SUCKED. Sigh. She placed her things in a blue cubby, grabbed a Ravenclaw nametage and scribbled her name on it quickly before placing it on her shirt...hmm. "Er, Hello....not professor..." she said awkwardly...since the lady wasn't a professor...Merlin. She saw some people stretching...so...she tried to reach down and touch her toes..well...FAIL. Because Elliot wasn't flexible. At all. |

*dragging Vicky with us* It was a needed, exciting and very interesting change in their usual class schedule and there was no way was Louisa going to miss it or let Vickers think about missing it. Holding his Ignoring any huffs, complaints, sighs and whatnot from Vick, Louisa continued toward the cubbies where she dumped her pink backpack and flashed him yet another beaming smile. Upon seeing the name tags she maneuvered the two of them, because the boy might sneak out of here maybe?, toward the table and scribbled down, 'Louisa Carter, Head Girl'. She kept staring at the place and who had arrived yet and who hadn't as Vickers was supposed to write his own nametag. Over to the teacher, who looked almost as excited as everyone else, "Hello...uhh.. Ms. Kettleburn." Mrs? Madame? Professor? Celandine? Whatever her title was, she got a Louisa smile and nod. |
Emmanuelle, a straggler? Pfffft! Not unless straggler suddenly meant two minutes early. And if it did, she hadn't gotten the memo. Anyway, as she walked into the class, the first thing she noticed was the cubby bins. Thank Merlin! She hurried over to stuff her duffle bag in one, before hurrying over to the table with the name tags. She hurriedly scribbled Emmanuelle Moreau on a Slytherin one (making sure it was legible still, of course). Having done that, she found herself a spot a good distance from anyone else. Wouldn't want to hit anyone, after all. "Hello, Ms. Kettleburn," she greeted before starting to stretch. |
The 'wandless magic' was what appealed Aidan in this lesson. Not that dance nonsense. That was for girls. He was only a little apprehensive, though, because he'd been most epic-ly failing at magic ever since he got here. But maybe wandless would actually be easier for him? He did have powers before he got a wand, after all. Maybe it was the wand that was throwing him off. He was too good for wands. The boy walked into the seminar with much less energy than any other class. Because he was most nervous. Hopefully, it would be more magic, less dance. And definitely magic on his part. He gave the lady a shy smile, wrote his name on a Ravenclaw nametag, and started stretching, half-heartedly mirroring the lady's movements. |
